Fabulous stay at iconic location ”

We booked two nights at the Safari Inn, mainly because it is an iconic location used in a number of movies, such as our all-time favourite True Romance. Not only did it live up to our expectations, but the Safari Inn also turned out to be excellent value for money: nice clean rooms with comfortable beds and very friendly staff. Highly recommended!

It’s just okay. ”

Location is fine. Cleaniness is fine. The problem is the thin walls and noise. We tried to get a top floor and was denied. Of course in the morning it sounded like a 400 pound heifer on the floor above us. I’ll never understand why people can never be considerate and step lightly when they know there is a room below them. I will never understand why a person has to cross back and forth 50 times. Really? I guess I should be grateful “it” didn’t have two rugrats running back and forth or that we didn’t have to hear “it” mating with someone or itself at night. A lot of the other morning noise was people talking loudly walking by and the cleaning staff pushing their cleaning supplies and talking loudly was also loud. If noise isn’t an issue or you can get a top floor, have at it.

Great Place and location but traffic noise is brutal”

First the good news…Great location right outside of Hollywood and LA. Far enough from the hustle and bustle, but still close enough and very easy to get to them from here. Very easy to find and get in and out of. Parking lot is sufficient our room was very clean, (smelled like weed but where doesn’t it. nowadays) great water pressure from the shower, and friendly, informative and courteous front counter staff! Shuttle to the studios with friendly drivers. Room size is good and Retro vibe is fun if that’s your thing. All the other guests were quiet and respectful during my stay. Now the bad news. Beds were extremely uncomfortable I like a firm mattress but these were very very stiff like sleeping on a plywood board. Also the pillows were extremely uncomfortable and no substance to them complete mush like laying my head in mashed potatoes. But the worst thing is the amount of traffic going by overnight it was terrible I felt like I was sleeping along the I-5 freeway. The Inn I guess is on a busy street? because the traffic was continuous overnight and I could hear it the entire time in our room which made it very hard to sleep. It literally sounds like the cars are driving right outside your door. Not the hotels fault I know they can’t control the amount of traffic going by their establishment, I don’t know if it’s an echo chamber in front of the place or what? And I live in a large city where I’m used to hearing traffic and sirens, but this was insane. So if you’re looking for a quiet good night sleep do not stay here. Outside of that the hotel itself is a gem.

Loved the spacious, rooms! They smelled amazing, were very clean, the details here were so nice from the free coffee to the cute little fold on the paper rolls, amazing shampoo & everything smelled so clean and fresh! I loved the jacuzzi here so fun & private, cute, and cozy stay! Thank you so much to Cecilia for being so sweet & helping, she made the stay very welcoming. Ask for her when you stay 10/10 experience!

This was a nice hotel, stayed for a night. Front desk was a easy check in and out. The rooms were clean and the noice was limited, it is in a busy area near a big cross street but they have a great security guard on watch who walks around the lot. He was very friendly and helpful with us on our stay. Felt safe to have another revisit.

When I'm in the area this is where I always stay! It's affordable and it's super clean! Everything is basically new. The front desk is very helpful. Sean at the front desk is the best!! Few pictures here so you can see the inside for yourself.

Extremely rude staff. Have to call multiple times for them to pick up the phone. Ask you to pay but do not tell you there is an additional deposit, other places tell you or charge you ahead of time. I paid $200+ then I get there and he wants me to pay more. Should have charged me from the start like other places. Like Vegas resort fees. Its all a scam anyway, but tell me and be honest and transparent. The lobby smelled like an Australian man on meth. Stinky stinky. Food crumbs everywhere!!!

Great place to stayed for a quiet night or just to relax on one of there rooms with jacuzzi very clean rooms and customer service it's great.

I have to say, the new owners are really nice and the place was so clean, overall our stay was very comfy. I feel bad for all the bad reviews they have from the previous owners and management but this place is fully renovated and looks new ! I will stay again. I was skeptical to stay with my babies but I'm glad I didn't change the reservation and stayed there. The ladies from the room service very nice and helpful to bring anything that we requested.

Really enjoyed my stay here. The room was very clean. Management was great, especially Shawn, he was very helpful and sweet. The only con was that they cleaned my room even though the Do Not Disturb sign was posted. Other than that, my stay was great and I would definitely come back.

Sean greeted me as soon as I walked in. He was kind and professional. Made me feel welcomed. My room was beautiful, clean and spacious. Microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. Bathroom is huge! Will return when I visit Cali again.

First review in about 3 years: This place was simply okay to stay at. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and renovated and I have 0 complaints about that. However, some very uncomfortable things to consider are: they don't allow visitors of any kind which would I would assume would be due to keeping prostitutes and partying away. We came in to see family and couldn't have them with us at the hotel, even if they were going home. They have their office set up like a glass box with large windows on all four sides in the middle of the complex, kind of like a prison, and the woman in the office who I am assuming either owns or co-owns the facility watches everyone with a very judgemental eye. We asked for a plastic fork and they said they didn't have any...odd and a little unprofessional for a hotel. Google says they take pets, they do not. And they make sure it's clear they don't allow pets. There is one entrance and exit, the other exit is locked up by an iron gate, I'm assuming for control of seeing who's coming in and out. They also were not super welcoming. I was very turned off by their demeanor in the office. I paid almost 300 dollars to stay at a place were I felt extremely unwelcome. If you need a bed and nothing else this place is okay. If you're here for any other reason, look elsewhere.
