You should make a wildlife excursion in Bhitarkanika because it is a group of islands in northeastern Odisha that holds trekking trails, dense forests, and unexplored beaches. This national park along with sightseeing places in Bhitarkanika has enormous significance, considering the biological, ecological, and geomorphologic backgrounds.

Itinerary of Bhitarkanika Wildlife Tour Package

Day 1 arrival at bhubaneswar; drive to bhitarkanika national park.

Arrival at Bhubaneswar Railway Station/Airport and Pick up & transfer to Bhitarkanika National Park & en route visit Buddhist monuments- Ratnagiri, Lalitgiri& Udaygiri. Hotel checks In and visit Dangmal Crocodile Breeding Centre & Museum. Overnight stay at Jungle Resort.

Day 2 Trip to Dangmal & Habalikathi / Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary

Complete your Breakfast by 8:00 AM. Check out from the resort and reach Dangmal Crocodile Breeding Centre. Look for different crocodiles kept there. Visit Interpretation cum Museum also.  After that start for Habalikhati by boat from Dangmal jetty. Enjoy a boat ride through various Creeks and rivers. Watch out for birds, particularly different varieties of Kingfishers, egrets, Bramhani Kites, eagles, etc. Reach Habalikathi Jetty at around 1 PM. Trek ( 2.5 Km. approx) through dense Mangrove Forest to reach Habalikathi Forest Rest house, located in front of Sea Beach. Explore Sea Beach after lunch. You might see Olive Ridley turtles on the beach(if you come in between the End of December to March). Overnight at Habalikhati Forest Rest House.

Day 3 Habalikathi – Bhitarkanika Forest Block

Early morning start trekking along with the sea beach. You might see Olive Ridley turtles on the beach(if you come in between the End of December to March). After Breakfast check out from the resort. Start for the return journey. Take a halt at Bhitarkanika Forest Block. Check out Old Temple, Lotus Pond, and Hunting Tower of yesteryear rulers. Climb the Watch Tower. You might see Wild Boar, Jungle cats, Spotted Deer, and birds also. Check into the Resort by 2:30 PM. Complete your lunch. Afternoon visit a nearby village. Watch the beautiful Sun set on river Brahmani. Have some tea/coffee in the evening. After dinner has a good night’s sleep.

Day 4 Puri / Bhubaneshwar

After Breakfast check out from the resort. Then drive to Bhubaneswar Railway Station/ Airport for your onward home destination. Tour Ends with sweet memories.

BHUBANESWAR – BHITARKANIKA

As you arrive at Bhubaneswar Railway Station / Airport, our representative will guide you the selected hotel in Bhitarkanika. On the way, you can visit Buddhist Monasteries and Stupas in Ratnagiri, Udayagiri and Lalitgiri. After checking-in and savouring lunch at the Resort, a cruise to Kali Bhanja Diha Island will be organized. A countryside boat that is approved by Wildlife Department will tour you around offering a panoramic view of the Ramsar area. Later, in the evening, spend some time around the campfire followed by dinner and overnight stay at the resort.

On day one, after you arrive at Puri railway station, you will meet our representative followed by a transfer to hotel. You can check-in and rest for a while, later, visit attractions like Gundicha temple, Jagannath temple and Loknath temple. In the afternoon/evening, you can spend time on the beach and also explore the beach market. Overnight stay at the hotel in Puri.

PURI - KONARK – PURI

After breakfast, visit Jagannath temple for morning aarti then head out for sightseeing to Konark. Visit Konark Sun Temple, Ramachandi temple and Chandrabhaga Beach. Return to Puri and rest for the day in the hotel.

PURI - BHITARKANIKA NATIONAL PARK

On day 4, checkout from the hotel in Puri and drive to Bhitarkanika, en-route you can visit Raghurajpur and Naik Patna painting villages. After arriving Bhitarkanika, check-in at Resort and rest. Later, after scrumptious lunch, go out exploring the Crocodile breeding centre and Museum and spend the evening around the campfire with dinner followed by an overnight stay.

BHITARKANIKA

On day 5, after heavy breakfast visit the Bhitarkanika Bird Sanctuary. Here, you can trek to the hunting tower where once the King spent time hunting, also you can go on a cruise to different creeks through a countryside boat (approved by Wildlife Department) you may as well spot some crocodiles during the tour. Lunch will be served amidst the paddy field out in the open followed by an evening Aarti darshan to Jagannath temple. In the evening warm yourself near the campfire followed by dinner and overnight at Resort.

BHITARKANIKA - BHUBANESWAR

After breakfast, head to Bhubaneswar, en-route you can visit Ratnagiri, Lalitgiri and Udayagiri and see the Buddhist Monasteries and Stupas. Overnight at the hotel in Bhubaneswar.

On day 7, after breakfast, go exploring temples in Bhubaneswar followed by a drop at the Airport / Railway station for your onward journey.

• Lingaraj Temple - Lingraj Temple is the main and important temple in Bhubaneswar. Lingaraj temple is built by Jajati Keshari in 11th century CE. This temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the oldest temples in Bhubaneswar.
• Mukteswar Temple - after seeing the beauty of Lingaraj temple our vehicle will move towards the Mukteshvara Temple. This temple is also a hindu temple built during the 10th century. This temple is also dedicated to lord Shiva. Mukteswar Temple is from the Somvamshi period.
• Nandankanan Zoo - children and wildlife lovers must enjoy this place. It was established in 1960. It also has a botanical garden. The total area of Nandankanan is 437 ha. There are nearly 3485 animals and 157 species available in it.
• Khandagiri and Udayagiri Caves - here you will see the archaeological work. Tourists will feel its historical and religious importance of this place. Khandagiri have 15 caves and Udayagiri has 18 caves.

In the 2nd days our vehicle will pick up guests from the hotel and leave for Konark sightseeing.

Konark temple is also known as sun temple which was built in the 13th century CE. This temple is very near from the city Puri. This temple is dedicated to God Surya. Konark temple is also known as the “Black Pagoda”. It is because this temple looks like a black tower. Bhubaneswar Tour Travels is will give you the chance to explore the beauty of this place. The works around the temple’s wall is very precious, it is because history says, there are 12,000 workers involved to build this beautiful temple. Tourists will enjoy the silent sea beach here.

Taking memory of Konark temple, our vehicle will have headed towards Chilika lake. Here in our vehicle will take rest. It means, its breakfast time. There are awesome Dhabas in the roadside. You have many choices to have your breakfast. There are Bengoli Dhabas, Odisha Bhadas and Gujurati Dhabas and many more. After having breakfast, we move moved towards satapada.

• Satapada - Satapada means group of seven villages. In odia language sata means “seven” and pada means “villages”. It is near to Puri district. Satapada is the home for dolphins. Many migratory birds move to Nalabana bird sanctuary. It will take four hours by boat from satapada to Nalabana.
• Baliharchandi Temple - this temple is dedicated to Maa Durga. It has a very beautiful and calm atmosphere. This temple is very famous in Odisha. There a beach near to this temple which is another attraction for tourists. Buses, cabs, auto rickshaws are the best way to travel from puri.
• Lord Alarnath Temple - This temple is also located in Puri. This temple is dedicated to lord Vishnu. this temple is about 23km from puri. When lord Jagannath is in anasara Ghara during rath yatra, that time people leave for Lord Alarnath. It is believed people during rath yatra Lord Jagannath manifests as Alarnath dev.

After gaining experience of Konark site, it is time for taking a rest. Because there are a lot of things to see in the next morning. In the next morning or in the 4th day, our vehicle will leave for visiting Ratnagiri. After having breakfast, we moved towards Cuttack city.

• Ratnagiri - Ratnagiri monastery is in Jajpur district of Odisha state. It was established in the reign of Gupta age. Here you can see the sculptures and monuments of Buddha, which clear that, the Buddhist establishment at Ratnagiri. It was believed that Ratnagiri was a great tantric place of Buddhism.
• Lalitgiri - Lalitgiri is also a Buddhist site. It is the major Buddhist complex. lalitgiri is well connected with Cuttack by road, rail services. Major Buddha stupas, images and monasteries are found here
• Udayagiri - It is also a major Buddhist site of Odisha. Major stupas and monasteries and collected from here. Ratnagiri-Lalitgiri-Udaygiri is called “Diamond Triangle”. These three places are Major Buddhist site in Odisha.
• Mahavinayak Temple - It is the major tourists place in Jajpur district. Mahavinayak means Sri Ganesha. This place is famous for Ganesha temple. Thousands of tourists come to visit this place and collect the blessings. This temple has some mythological and historical importance. It was believed that, Devi Rati worshipped Lord Ganesha to save her husband (Kamadev) from the curse of Lord Shiva.
• Cuttack Chandi Temple - This temple is an ancient temple. It is dedicated to Goddess Chandi. Chandi Temple is located in the banks of Mahanadi River. This temple is very famous across Odisha. People of Odisha believed as ‘the living Goddess’.

Next morning on day 5 our vehicle receives guests from hotel and leave for Bhitarakanika.

Bhitarakanika - Bhitarakanika National Park is famous for Crocodile Park. It is situated in the north-east region of Kendrapada district in Odisha state. It is the home of crocodile, Indian python, King cobra and other species. Thousands of tourists come to this place to see the crocodiles. It has a very nice historical past. It is heard that one of the Odisha kings used this place as a hunting ground.

After enjoying at Bhitarakanika in kenxdrapada district, it is time to go back to your hotels. Our cab will drop you at you hotels.

Bhitarkanika DAY - 6

Next morning on day 6 is our last day. Our vehicle will take you a best hotel for breakfast. Day-2 : Dhenkanal –Ratnagiri – Bhitarkanika

After breakfast drive to Bhitarkanika en route visiting Buddhist ruins, ancient stupas-chaityas, archaeological excavation sites at Ratnagiri & Udayagiri. Also you can visit the typical villages stop for photography. Overnight at Bhitarkanika.

Day-3 : In & around Bhitarkanika ( THE MINI AMAZON )

After breakfast take the boat cruise in creeks to explore various species of birds, reptiles and salt water crocodiles. Also trek inside the mangrove forest and from the watch tower see more species in their natural habitat. Overnight at Bhitarkanika accommodation.

Day-4: Bhitarkanika – Bhubaneswar – Puri

Post breakfast take an exit from this sanctuary and drive to Puri, en-route visiting Bhubaneswar temples –Parsurameswar temple, Mukteswar temple, Lingaraj temple , Hirapur 64 Yogini temple , Pipli for its beautiful appliqué work, Raghurajpur artisans village. Day-5 : Puri – Bhubaneswar Departure

Morning after breakfast visit to Lord Jagannath temple with assisted by priest , Later drive to Sun temple at Konark which is a world heritage site managed by UNESCO .The temple was built by King Narasimhadeva in the 13th century, it is counted among the 7 wonders of India, famous for its erotic works and sculptures on Life.
