Solo Jet Ski (Weekday)

Our jumping off point is Liberty Landing Marina in New Jersey. This is a beautiful, modern facility located on the Hudson River directly across from Battery Park (near the 9/11 Memorial). We are just 10 minutes from Manhattan by ferry.

After our safety briefing and some basic training we will be on the way!

• First, we will head toward The World Trade Center
• We will then shoot up the East River, passing the Staten Island Ferry Terminal and Wall Street Heliport as we make our way to the iconic Brooklyn Bridge.
• After taking in the amazing view we will head down the coast of Brooklyn, running by Governor’s Island and enjoying views of the Verrazano Bridge.
• As we get to the south side of Governor’s we’ll get our first great glimpse of Lady Liberty.
• Riding straight across one of the busiest and deepest natural harbors in the world we will get up close to the Statue of Liberty. After getting enough pictures to make all of your friends jealous we will make a full circle of Liberty Island, past Ellis Island to get final pictures with a breathtaking view of the NYC Skyline.

One thing is for sure. You’re going to get wet! You will be most comfortable if you wear a bathing suit. In colder weather, dry or wet suits will be provided free of charge. // You must be at least 18 years old to operate a jet ski. In order to ride, you must be at least 12 years old, and the jet ski operator must be a parent or legal guardian. Additionally, all participants must weigh less than 350 lbs to safely ride a jet ski. If two people are sharing the same jet ski, their combined weights must be less than 350 lbs.

19-year-old crossover country pop star Jessie Murph is doing something entirely different.

The “Wild Ones” singer just announced she’s hitting the road for the second leg of her ‘In The Sticks Tour’ in support of her upcoming debut album “That Ain’t No Man That’s The Devil.”

I’m rapping, I’m belting, and some of it’s slightly country,” Murph told Billboard about the record. “Everything I’m saying on this album…it’s coming straight from the heart.”

As of now, she isn’t slated to make a proper New York City stop but will come close.

On Saturday, Nov. 9, Murph will headline at Syracuse’s Landmark Theatre . Less than a week later, she’ll be at Sayreville, NJ’s Starland Ballroom on Thursday, Nov. 14.

Commemorating the reopening of New York City’s St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine, G&A has launched a digital platform to preserve the sacred icon . The structure was founded in 1916 and served as a monument within Manhattan’s global financial hub until it was destroyed in the 9/11 attacks. Rebuilt by Santiago Calatrava as a white marble domed structure reflecting a traditional Byzantine design, it is now memorialized virtually through a reverent mix of educational storytelling and religious ritual. The experience design firm’s interactive app thus makes the experience accessible to all, allowing users to traverse a meticulously detailed model rendered via drone-enabled high-resolution photogrammetry.

Worshippers begin their journey standing outside of the elevation, then move through to the Narthex and Nave. As they navigate the space — guided by audio narrations, text descriptions, and short films — they can learn more about the history of the architecture and the theological iconography adorning the walls, and even participate in religious rituals.

In rethinking the church-going experience for the digital age and bringing St. Nicholas to a broader audience, G&A showcases its architecture, iconography, and history. Users of the digital platform begin their journey from the exterior, rotating its form for a 360 view while learning more about its history, destruction, and reconstruction.

Moving through to the Narthex, a vast antechamber leading to the altar, visitors can take a closer look at the artworks, light a virtual candle, or make a donation. In the core Nave, an interactive 3D model offers a comprehensive look at the biblical scenes hand-painted across the walls and dome by Father Loukas, a Greek monk living on Mount Athos.

Digitally reconstructing the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine involved a collaborative process between G&A’s tech and film teams , Paris-based digitization studio Iconem, and New York-based Hirani Group. Together, the design team employed drone scanning and 3D photogrammetry which enables users to take an immersive virtual tour and explore the space from all angles.

The process involves stitching together hundreds of still photographs and scans to create a model with accurate 3D geometries. The virtual experience supports G&A’s physical interventions which includes hand-carved marble exterior signage, memorial etchings, and an immersive digital kiosk where visitors can make donations, view church schedules in rotation, view a map that shows where each of the donors are coming from, and read their stories.

Sabrina Carpenter’s Working Late This Fall

No need to beg “please, please, please” anymore — Sabrina Carpenter has finally announced a headlining tour. The performer will be working late on her Short n’ Sweet tour this fall, behind her new album by the same name. Read on for info on the tour and the album , which is out now.

June 20, 2024: Sabrina Carpenter’s busy summer-festival schedule just got a little busier. Carpenter will replace Tyler, the Creator and headline Outside Lands on August 10. Her 30-date tour will follow, kicking off September 23 in Columbus, Ohio, and running through November 15 in Los Angeles. Amaarae , Declan McKenna, and Griff will be opening. And if you’ve been wary of arena-tour sales lately , here’s a glimmer of hope: Carpenter’s run is promoted by AEG, not Live Nation . (And through AEG, Carpenter’s top Spotify listeners can also buy special pit tickets — a first.) Tickets go on sale on June 28 — make sure you have your espresso ready.

Short n’ Sweet , but also 12 tracks long

July 9, 2024: Sabrina Carpenter released the track list for her new album, Short n’ Sweet. And that’s that her espresso on track number seven. “Please Please Please” is in the coveted No. 2 spot on the album. Other tracks include “Sharpest Tool,” “Lie to Girls,” and “Dumb & Poetic.” A spiritual sequel to the “Nonsense” outros , perhaps? Short n’ Sweet drops August 23, with the tour kicking off a month later.

August 23, 2024: The long n’ bitter wait is over: Short n’ Sweet is out now. “i feel extremely lucky that each time i write a new record i learn a little bit more about myself, and can create from that place,” Carpenter wrote in an Instagram post celebrating the release of the 12-track album. “the making of short n’ sweet was one of the most special, honest, up and down, stupid and fun experiences of my life. Jack Russell, 63, Dies; Singer for Great White and Survivor of Nightclub Fire

At a show in 2003 with his band, a pyrotechnics display ignited a fire that killed 100 people, including the band’s guitarist.

Jack Russell, the singer who led the popular 1980s hard rock band Great White as well as a spinoff group, which set off one of the deadliest nightclub fires of all time, died on Aug. 7 at a family member’s home in Southern California. He was 63.

The cause was Lewy body dementia and multiple system atrophy, said K.L. Doty, who collaborated with Mr. Russell on his autobiography.

Mr. Russell’s death was announced in a post on his official Instagram profile on Thursday and confirmed by Ms. Doty. Great White also paid tribute to his death on its Instagram page.

Mr. Russell founded Great White with the guitarist Mark Kendall. The band, originally called Dante Fox, began playing in small clubs in Southern California in the early 1980s. It changed its name to Great White in 1984 and had its first big hit in 1987, when “Rock Me” reached the No. 60 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Great White found success with its third album, which featured its biggest hit, “Once Bitten Twice Shy.” The song climbed to No. 5 in 1989 and earned the band a Grammy nomination.

Mr. Russell briefly left Great White in 1996 to pursue a solo career. He returned in 1999, but by 2001, Great White had disbanded.

In 2002, Mr. Russell and Mr. Kendall hired three new musicians and began playing in small clubs as Jack Russell’s Great White. In February 2003, while the band was performing at the Station nightclub in West Warwick, R.I., its pyrotechnics ignited a deadly fire that killed 100 people, including Great White’s guitarist, Ty Longley, and left 230 injured. It was one of the worst nightclub fires in U.S. history.

The two brothers who owned the club , and who installed the highly flammable soundproofing foam around its stage, were charged in connection with the fire, as was the band’s tour manager, who lit the blaze.

Mr. Russell was not charged, but members of the band agreed to pay a $1 million settlement .

By 2005, Jack Russell’s Great White had disbanded after “the stress from lawsuits, inner band turmoil and Russell’s substance abuse problems had taken its toll,” according to All Music Guide .

In 2013, nearly a decade after the fire, he told The Boston Globe , “It’s been almost 10 years, and no matter what I say it’s never going to make anybody feel any better about it, and sometimes it might make them feel worse, so I really would rather not say too much, you know.”

Great White reunited in 2007, although the reunion was short-lived. Mr. Russell continued making music with Jack Russell’s Great White but announced in an Instagram post in July that he was retiring because of his health problems.

“I am unable to perform at the level I desire and at the level you deserve,” Mr. Russell wrote. “Words cannot express my gratitude for the many years of memories, love, and support.”

Jack Patrick Russell was born on Dec. 5, 1960, in Montebello, Calif. He grew up in Whittier, Calif., and dropped out of high school to pursue music.

He is survived by his wife, Heather Ann Russell, and his son, Matthew Hucko.
