What to expect

Available options for Cu Chi tunnels tour: go and back by speedboat or have a combine transfer & boat trip. You can choose morning or afternoon tour. At the end of the tour, there is a firing range that allows you to fire real war-era weapons including the M66 and AK47 – try this on your own expenses.

7.00: Pick up at your hotel and transfer to the boat wharf and get on the speed boat.

7.20: The boat heads for Cu Chi tunnels on Saigon River. Within 15 minutes, the banks of the river change from city sprawl to lush jungle. A light breakfast of sandwiches or pastries, fresh tropical fruits and Vietnamese iced coffee is served.

8.50: Arrive at Cu Chi tunnels, watch a brief introductory propaganda video to the Cu Chi area.

9.00: Explore the amazing underground networks of Cu Chi tunnels, which includes weapon and booby trap exhibitions, navigating authentic Viet Cong tunnel, visiting different underground bunkers (kitchens, meeting rooms, ammunition etc.), a firing range and much more. Try the local cassava root that sustained Viet Cong fighters for years.

11.00: Enjoy a delicious traditional Vietnamese lunch by the river before departing Cu Chi to return to Ho Chi Minh City.

13.00: Arrive back at Saigon’s pier and get transferred back to your hotel.

Our half-day speedboat trip of the Mekong Delta with Fisheye Tours was amazing. It was an easy and enjoyable way to go by boat. The itinerary gave us fascinating looks into local life by taking us to less touristy, real delta locations. Our tour guide was friendly and well-informed. Strongly recommended!

We went on a private speedboat Saigon River sunset sightseeing tour with Fisheye Travel. This was our last day in Vietnam after a wonderful three-week tour, and it was an ideal way to finish our holiday. Our Tour guide, Ha, met us at our hotel and took us to the boat. The tour lasted for one and a half hours and included a stop at a lovely riverside bar and restaurant for a drink. Ha was friendly, welcoming, enthusiastic, and full of information during our trip. It was beautiful to see the sunset as we returned. It was a great way to finish off what has been a superb holiday.

We had the best tour ever. Our guide was very accommodating and cheerful from the beginning to the end. There were 6 of us and another energetic couple on the tour. We visited the Mekong Delta, where much fun awaited us. We then had a beautiful lunch with so much food at a riverside spot. After that, we went to the Cu Chi Tunnels to learn about the history and even had the opportunity to fire an AK47, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We were totally in love with all actitivies. If you are in Ho Chi Minh, this tour is a must-do. Well worth the money and highly recommend Fisheye Tours!

Detailed Itinerary

We will pick you up at your hotel at 7:00 and then transfer you to Bach Dang Pier where you will embark on a luxury speedboat heading towards Cu Chi Tunnels. While the boat is cruising through the original landscapes along Saigon riverbanks, you will be served with fresh seasonal fruits and soft drinks and observe the local lifestyle of Saigoneses. 

Arriving at Cu Chi Tunnels (Dinh Pier), a documentary film about the tunnels during wartime will be introduced first. 

Afterward, we will have a soft walk into the jungle to visit the traps, the secret entrance, the bunkers, and the underground hideouts. There offers you a special and fantastic chance to relax by shooting real guns and real bullets at the rifle range as well as to witness the rice-paper (spring roll skin) making. You can even try to crawl into the Cu Chi Tunnels. 

Take a rest with green tea and tapioca, the main food served during the wartime, to learn more about the life of Viet Cong in the war. 

Saying goodbye to the historic land before having traditional Vietnamese lunch in the romantic riverside restaurant on the way back. You can choose to come back to Saigon downtown by shuttle bus or by our return speedboat to Bach Dang Pier.

Located about 70 km to the northwest of Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi tunnels is the miniature of the creative and transformed battle of Cu Chi people and soldiers in the fierce fight, lasting for 30 years against the aggressors for independence, freedom of the country.

With its victory scale, Cu Chi tunnel went into the history of the heroic struggle of the Vietnamese as a legend of the 20th century and became famous in the world. Your English-speaking guide will explain the life along the banks of the Saigon River as your boat gracefully slaloms through the water hyacinths. After the scenic one-hour boat trip our guide will take you through the historic Cu Chi Tunnels.
