Killswitch engage, as daylight dies, the end of heartache, alive or just breathing, about killswitch engage.

Killswitch Engage first shook the structure of heavy music upon climbing out of snowy industrialized Western Massachusetts in 2000. A musical outlier, the band pioneered a union of thrashed-out European guitar pyrotechnics, East Coast hardcore spirit, on-stage hijinks, and enlightened lyricism that set the pace for what the turn-of-the-century deemed heavy. 2002's Alive Or Just Breathing became avowed as a definitive album, being named among "The Top 100 Greatest Metal Albums of the Decade" by Decibel and celebrated by everyone from Metal Hammer to Revolver . Not only did they bust open the floodgates for dozens to follow, but they also garnered two GRAMMY® Award nominations in the category of " Best Metal Performance " in 2005 and 2014, respectively, and gold certifications for The End of Heartache [2004] and As Daylight Dies [2006]. The group landed three consecutive Top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 with Killswitch Engage [2009], Disarm The Descent [2013], and their career high best bow at #6 with Incarnate [2016]. The latter two releases would also both capture #1 on the Top Rock Albums and Top Hard Rock Albums charts. Their total streams have exceeded half-a-billion to date. Along the way, the boys have shared stages with some of the biggest acts in the world and have sold out countless headline gigs in six continents across the globe.

2019 represents another turning point. The quintet—Adam Dutkiewicz [lead guitar], Joel Stroetzel [rhythm guitar], Mike D'Antonio [bass], Justin Foley [drums], and Jesse Leach [vocals]—sharpen every side of this signature sound on their eighth full-length and first for Metal Blade, Atonement . The vision they shared two decades ago crystallizes like never before as evidenced by the first single " Unleashed ."

The both acts before KSE were Tenside and Prevocation and they were really good and then came Killswitch Engage! Wow what a blast! They stepped on stage and started playing as their lives belong to this show. They have shown the crowd their energy and feelings about every single song they've played. We had a good mix on their set list of old and new stuff and as already said it was absolutely amazing! Less talking, more songs to hear. First time for me that I've seen them live (I mean I seen them 2008 at the wacken open air but I was drunk as hell) and I am 100% sure that it was not the last time!

The show was freaking awesome! It was completely insane, there was nothing be just pushing and shoveing and just being drenched in other people's sweat and non stop crowd surfing. I expected nothing less from a concert like this. I do not recommend this concert for frail and fragile people as they can get seriously injured but all in all the crowd was nuts. Killswitch was⚡⚡⚡⚡

I was initially hesitant to see Killswitch when I found out Howard had left (best thing for him, though, considering his health). How wrong was I?!! Bringing back their original singer, Jesse Leach, was the best move they could've made. He's so passionate about the music, jumping up to make his fist pumps more aggressive, you can't help but rock out. I'll see them again every chance I get and buy all of their cd's! If you haven't seen them yet, YOU NEED TO GO!! No lie!

About killswitch engage.

Killswitch Engage are an American metalcore band from Westfield, Massachusetts, formed in 1999 after the disbanding of Overcast and Aftershock. Killswitch Engage's current lineup consists of vocalist Jesse Leach, guitarists Joel Stroetzel and Adam Dutkiewicz, bassist Mike D'Antonio, and drummer Justin Foley. The band has released seven studio albums and one DVD. Their latest album, Incarnate, was released on March 11, 2016. Killswitch Engage rose to fame with its 2004 release The End of Heartache, which peaked at number 21 on the Billboard 200, and was certified gold by the RIAA in December 2007 for over 500,000 shipments in the United States. The title track, "The End of Heartache", was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2005 for Best Metal Performance, and a live DVD titled (Set This) World Ablaze was released in 2005. Killswitch Engage has performed at festivals such as Soundwave Festival, Wacken Open Air, Reading and Leeds Festivals, Ozzfest, Download Festival, Rock on the Range, Rock Am Ring, Mayhem Festival, Monsters of Rock, Pointfest, Knotfest and Heavy MTL. The band has sold over four million records in the U.S. and has been considered notable within the New Wave of American Heavy Metal.

Killswitch Engage Announce 2022 Tour With August Burns Red + Light the Torch

Over two years after the original tour dates were announced, Killswitch Engage have finally rescheduled their North American headlining tour with August Burns Red and Light the Torch for 2022.

The COVID pandemic shut down the original 2020 tour dates just two days into the tour. Howard Jones , who famously sang for Killswitch for a decade, even joined his former band onstage during the finale of both gigs, performing “The End of Heartache” and “The Signal Fire” alongside Jesse Leach .

"The long wait is finally over," says KsE singer Jesse Leach. "We worked very hard to carefully piece this tour back together properly. After the tour was shut down two days in when it started in 2020, we are bringing it back!  We are honored and stoked to have August Burns Red and Howard Jones and the boys in Light the Torch along to make this an 'all killer, no filler' lineup."

Light the Torch’s Howard Jones adds, "FINALLY! We get to pick up where we left off on the Atonement tour with KsE and ABR! We couldn't be more excited to resume with the same lineup, and additional dates have been added so don't miss this noisy party. Now, stop reading this and get your tickets. GO! This will be a tour to remember and you do not want to miss it!"

The new run of North American dates will begin Jan. 28 in Pittsburgh, Pa., circle the continent and end on March 12 in Philadelphia, Pa. Fans can grab tickets here .

Their Australian fans have been there from the start. The bands first foray down under was way back in 2004 opening for Soilwork and Anthrax which marked the start of an enduring love affair with their army of fans. Gold-selling and three-time Grammy-nominated hard rock heavyweights Killswitch Engage have announced their rescheduled headline tour for Winter 2022.

KsE , recognized by Forbes as “ one of modern metal’s most cherished acts, ” will bring The Atonement Tour back on the road to clubs and theaters across the U.S. and into Canada. The trek kicks off on January 28 in Pittsburgh and runs through March 12 in Philadelphia.

The Atonement Tour makes its return with the same powerful lineup, which includes Lancaster, Pennsylvania’s August Burns Red as main support and Light the Torch as the opening act. As fans are more than well aware, LTT frontman Howard Jones served as KsE’s singer from 2002 through 2012.

This tour package was originally planned for Spring 2020 but was ultimately postponed two dates into the original run due to the global shutdown that was a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. It will now include all of the rescheduled dates as well as several new locations across the U.S.

Killswitch Engage Announce Tour Dates

Killswitch Engage—singer Jesse Leach, guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, bassist Mike D'Antonio, guitarist Joel Stroetzel and drummer Justin Foley—have announced their first headline tour in support of their just-released new album Disarm the Descent , which debuted at number 7 on the Billboard Top 200 and at number 1 on the Hard Music Chart.

The tour will feature support from As I Lay Dying and Miss May I, with Affiance opening. Tickets go on sale on April 12 or April 13, depending on the market.

"Everyone in the Killswitch family is excited to get out on our first U.S. headlining tour in support of our new record," Leach said. "We are hitting some great cities and have a great mix of songs from every era of Killswitch as well as of course a handful of new ones."

Leach continued, "We look forward to sharing this tour with our old friends and brothers in metal As I Lay Dying. I personally have never had the chance to tour with them and I am looking forward to having such a quality band out with us to give this tour even more fire! We will also be joined by a talented and up-and-coming band Miss May I. Thanks to all the U.S. fans for your support! Our live show will be full-on energy with all of us ready to take this to a whole new level."

Bassist Mike D. concurred, saying, "We are super excited to be back out with our good buds in As I Lay Dying! They are some of our favorite dudes to hang with on the road, so assumptions are high that utter chaos shall ensue. There will be so much metal riffage -- you could build your own Carnival Cruse Ship. That's right, 'CHUGGA CHUGGA Paralysis' is surely imminent."

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE: South American Tour Dates Announced

Massachusetts metallers KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have lined up the following South American tour dates:

Oct. 03 - Sao Paulo, BRA - Espaco Lux Oct. 04 - Curitiba, BRA - John Bull Music Hall Oct. 06 - Buenos Aires, ARG - Teatro Colegiales Oct. 08 - Santiago, CHL - Teatro Novedades Oct. 10 - Quito, ECU - La Bunga Oct. 11 - Bogota, COL - Teatro Metropol

The new, self-titled album from KILLSWITCH ENGAGE sold 58,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 7 on The Billboard 200 chart.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE 's third album, "As Daylight Dies" , which was released in November 2006, has just been certified gold by the RIAA ( Recording Industry Association of America ) for shipments in excess of 500,000 copies). That album featured the group's highest-charting radio singles to date, including "My Curse" and the fan favorite, a cover version of DIO 's "Holy Diver" .

"As Daylight Dies" opened with just under 60,000 units to debut at position No. 32 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was the follow up to 2004's Grammy -nominated album "The End of Heartache" , which was also certified gold.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE 's self-titled fourth album was released on June 30 via Roadrunner Records . The CD was produced by Brendan O'Brien ( AC/DC , RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE ) and co-produced by guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz .

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE will team up with IN FLAMES for a co-headlining tour of Canada in September. Support on the trek will come from PROTEST THE HERO and BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME .

Ex-Killswitch Engage Member Is Conquering Anxiety

Howard Jones talks about leaving Killswitch Engage.

Everybody has experienced a form of anxiety at some point their lives. Over 18% parent of the population which accounts for roughly 40 million people deal with an anxiety disorder. Howard Jones formerly of Killswitch Engage has dealt with it his entire career. A natural introvert, Howard admits his personality offstage is completely different from what you see onstage. Feeling overwhelmed by the rigorous touring schedule with Killswitch Engage, he decided to leave the band and tackle his inner-issues head on. Howard immersed himself in a plethora of outdoor activities which he loves and disposed of any form of communication. For a period of time close to 3 years, Howard Jones went without a cellphone of any form. He spent the time being isolated and getting his mind in the right perspective.

Fishing is his “happy place”. Perhaps almost a form of meditation for him. He loves it all. Anything from deep sea to blast fishing. When asked if he’ll be taking up noodling the next time he makes an appearance in Oklahoma, he respectfully declined. As he elegantly put it “Shoving your hand in a giant catfish would be like putting it in live vice-grips.”

Re-emerging stronger and healthier, Howard Jones decided to get back in the music business with the band Devil You Know. After a name change and new direction with the band, they decided to go with Light The Torch. Writing and curating ideas for songs is what Howard loves to do. As he explains on the DOMKcast, “It takes up the majority of my day. I wake up early, write until about 11am; head to the studio in the afternoon and start recording.”

Howard Jones has found the balance he was looking for in the music industry. Devoting the time to be successful but also making room for himself.
