Hiding travel marvel under apt not honest

Been with apt but this holiday travel marvel the REAL COMPANY Difference you find out too late Smaller cabins Trips about £60 each day Meals quality and quantity very poor If you want. For 15 days ice cream or cheese then fine 3 veg each night but you need microscope for inch square of each veg no doubt have photos Limited drink choice We had the BEST ROom SUITES 3rd floor TINY lots of us had to chase up each day shades on top deck and comfy seat covers WHY Reported. To agents week ago no reply Stairs left handle often not tied up coming down happened twice dangerous coming down The mini spa the screws and bolt missing nearly had a serious fall my wife reported it the staff member said he would report to cruise director..sign of how managed!!..we showed we were surprised why not just get a spanner!! Further item access down to the bar deck at the front completely blocked but the reception answer was that it WAS NORMAL to be closed.. those on the desk generally very young but sad fir them often on their own and lacked the skill to handle many things not THEIR problem The cruise Directortoo often using his frame in an agrresssive way Overall not honest re who paying in fact blurring the two for BEST effect for APT. Heard a lot of complaints mainly.. rightly by the Aussies to each other and THE director our friends also added comments direct TO ANSWER BE HONEST TELL PEOPLE THE REAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN APT AND TRAVEL MARVEL WILL NOT GO WITH THEM UNTIL SURE WHAT I AM BUYING

Superb from Beginning to End

We had an amazing experience throughout our APT River cruise. It began with a chauffeur driven Mercedes collecting us from home to the airport and ended with a similar airport to home transfer. Everything in between was excellent. The Amastella Riverboat, taking us from Amsterdam to Budapest on the Rhine, Main and Danube was great. The cabins were well equipped and we had a Juliette and regular balcony. The ship was attractive and very clean and we enjoyed watching the beautiful scenery passing by whilst relaxing on deck. The staff were always smiling, courteous and helpful. The food was wonderful, especially the rib eye steak which simply melted in the mouth. Speciality dining was also available and themed meals occasionally. A wide range of drinks were included too. We had entertainment each evening with opportunity to dance and one evening amazing Viennese Waltzers came on board to dance and offer us a lesson afterwards. Every day there were included excursions to choose from according to taste and physical ability. In addition special treats were arranged, including a mountain Sound of Music concert in Saltzburg. Also a private classical concert during our stay in Vienna which took place in absolutely wonderful surroundings and included welcome drinks. I could write so much more praising our wonderful holiday where we met so many great people. Small numbers on board meant shipmate friendships were easy to form. Thank you APT we would not hesitate to use your company again.

Excellent Service - Ruth is a Star!

I'm touring New Zealand in Oct/Nov 2024 and required info on a few aspects of the trip I was a little nervous about. So I rang up and spoke to Ruth. Ruth has the patience of a saint! Nothing I asked was too minor and I felt so reassured. Let me tell you APT, Ruth is the kind of customer service every company should have and you should cherish her. She is friendly, knowledgeable, professional and so helpful. Thanks so much Ruth you are a star and deserve a pay rise!!

Travelmarvel cruise

My first river cruise after many ocean cruises and travels over the years with my late husband I’ve just had the most memorable 2 week cruise Budapest to Amsterdam. The ship was immaculate throughout, the staff were faultless in consideration, service and made me smile each time I saw them. Different nationalities on board meant I met some lovely fellow holidaymakers. I never heard a negative comment from any of them. Dining was a peaceful unrushed pleasure. I went on trips , which many were included, and saw so much. I could comment forever and it left me with so many memories and brought a lump in my throat as I disembarked. Well done.

This was the perfect cruise

This was the perfect cruise, so much to see and never a dull moment. All expertly organised and well coordinated to the standard I now expect from APT. The ship is spotless and comfortable I never once had to think about my bad back, sitting and watching the world go by was an absolute pleasure. The food ! So much available and top quality too, a little dieting will be necessary to make up for all the indulgence. And of course the rivers themselves, the Danube, Rhine and Main. Some of the most picturesque views ever

The Loansome Dove

Having lost my wife in recent years l decided to go on the APT tour of Belgrade to Amsterdam. From day l to 15 l have never had an holiday so relaxing and friendly, which put me in complete relaxing mode.All the staff and friendly people the wonderful places we visited'the food made this the best experience of my life to date.

Fabulous River Cruise

Fabulous River Cruise . We had a marvellous time from start to finish. All the crew & staff were wonderful ... so friendly and helpful . Food & drinks were top class , cabins were immaculate and very comfortable. Great trips every day with really professional guides & entertainment. Thanks to all the APT team for a truly memorable voyage.

A Highly recommended cruising experience

This was a brilliant experience our first river cruise. All staff gave an exceptional and friendly service, especially Tomas, our cruise director. The food was of a consistent high quality. Our cabin on the lower tier was very comfortable and quite spacious. We enjoyed the cruise itinerary and the fact that we could opt out of some of the organised tours. The inclusion of Internet and all drinks with lunch and dinner made this cruise exceptional value for money. I would highly recommend this European Gem cruise to anyone. Well done APT

Not up to APT usual standards.

The experience was not as good as previous APT river cruises. I do not think it was worthy of being designated 5 stars. Travel marvel which is only designated 4 stars have been better in the past. The choice of drinks in the bar were very limited and the bar was closed by 2300 every night. This also meant that you could not get hot drinks or filtered water until breakfast the following morning. Entertainment was virtually none existent with no quizzes or much dancing for the duration of the cruise. Choices of food was also very limited with no choice at all most of the time. Quite often items ran out and were not replaced eg English breakfast tea and yogurts.

Excellent in all respects

Excellent in all respects . especially service. Staff wonderful and so helpful. Food varied and presented beautifully and matched from each area we were in. Some rooms smaller but well looked after by staff. Tours outstanding and so well organised.

Morning trip for tea and coffee

Unfortunately there wasn’t any coffee making facilities in our cabin, being advertised as a luxury cruise I would expect this. I was asked to inform the chef about my dietary needs, which I did first thing, I’m type 2 diabetic, all he offered me was sliced fruit as a dessert! Which turned out to be melon. On our penultimate day a made a remake to our waiter and he produced sugar free ice cream and a sugar free cake, he explained that they keep these for diabetics. Pointless me talking to the chef! However I must compliment the onboard staff they were excellent.

The whole crew were so dedicated to making the holiday enjoyable.

We had a lovely river cruise on the Danube with this company. The ship was very comfortable, with good cabins and very welcoming common spaces (restaurant, lounge, sun deck etc.). The whole trip was very well organised with plenty to do-the company had clearly taken care to ensure we had an enjoyable and interesting holiday. There was a fantastic Cruise Director on the ship who gave us great information and took care of every need. The whole crew were wonderful-cheerful and helpful, it felt like they could not do enough to make sure everyone enjoyed the cruise. Meals were excellent and included drinks at lunchtime and dinner. Outside of those times alcoholic drinks were very reasonable priced, and tea, coffee and water were always available. We would not hesitate to go with this travel company again.

Flight arrangements went well on…

Flight arrangements went well on outward trip to Budapest. Excellent reception on ship, food was superb and staff were extremely efficient and helpful in every way. Due to flight disruption coming home the cruise was spoilt. Not enough information was available or help given.

REALLY GOOD CRUISE AT A FAIR PRICE

RIVER JOURNEY EXCELLENT. FOOD VERY GOOD BUT NOT A LOT OF CHOICES. ON BOARD ENTERTAINMENT VERY GOOD BUT SOME EXTERNAL ENTERTAINMENT BROUGHT ON BOARD WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE. DRINKS VERY REASONABLE BUT RAN OUT OF MY BEER AFTER A FEW DAYS AND THEN AGAIN AFTER THEY HAD RE-STOCKED.

Good but not great APT cruise from Nuremberg to Budapest

Joined the cruise at Nuremberg for the week's journey to Budapest but the majority of the passengers had been on for a week already cruising from Amsterdam . This meant we ( the 20 newbies) felt a bit like interlopers. Most friendship groups had already formed.

Lovely trip

Lovely trip, happy fellow passengers and lovely crew. Fantastic food, I can’t wait for my next trip - and I do a lot of river trips with different companies so thank you Travelmarvel.

The whole holiday was excellent

The whole holiday was excellent, all the staff were excellent. We will be going on holiday with you again in the near future. Cannot fault anything on board. Off shore excursions were excellent.

The quality of the crew and the service…

The quality of the crew and the service they provided. Nothing was too much for them and moreover their personalities shone through. The ship was extremely comfortable and in good order and the whole tour was a first class experience.

Bucharest to Amsterdam cruise

The Bucharest to Amsterdam cruise was a fantastic experience and the boat/food/beverages/staff/itinerary and daily excursions were all excellent. The only downside for us was that we had a transfer at Schifol Airport on the outbound journey and I feel that insufficient time had been allowed for this to happen. Consequently, due to the initial flight being delayed we missed our transfer and had to stay in Amsterdam overnight. The rescheduled flights offered by KLM were unacceptable as the boat would have sailed prior to our arrival, therefore, we had no option but to spend 5 hours in the airport making our own arrangements. Finally, the number provided to notify the company of any delay, did not work. This all led to an extremely stressful start to our holiday!

Lovely comfortable ship

Lovely comfortable ship. Excellent cuisine and friendly, professional staff. All the excursions were very interesting, well organised and plenty of choice. An overall wonderful two week cruise.

Springtime in The Netherlands and Belgium

This was a new itinerary for APT. We really enjoyed visiting new places and the guides were great. Our Cruise Director was excellent. All the ship's staff were both really efficient and very friendly and the meals were excellent.

The cruise itself was good.

The cruise itself was good. The biggest disappointment was the Parliament Hotel in Bucharest. It was very basic and more like a hostel. However, the Tour Director, Marta, was caring, kind and thoughtful under difficult circumstances.

The attention to detail was superb

The attention to detail was superb, the holiday director was meticulous in giving information. The hotel in Cambodia was everything we could want. The cruise ship was fabulous from the rooms to the food . The staff on board were extremely helpful. All in all it was a holiday to remember.

Excellent coach driver and tour…

Excellent coach driver and tour guide.Mostly very good Hotels…with the exception of Queenstown…nice Hotel but at the top of a very very steep hill and the average age of tour group was mid seventies. Also motel at the end of tour had no air conditioning in our room.

aware that APT have different levels…

APT or APT Travel Marvel. Be aware that APT have different levels of holidays. For instance APT Travel Marvel is of a lower standard. I had not been told this when I booked my holiday. I had a few issues which made my special holiday not as good as I was expecting. As a single traveller I have to pay so much more so I expect a really good standard. This was my third trip with APT. The two previous trips were exceptional. So Travel Marvel let me down.

Very efficient on all levels. Tour was well organised from beginning to end. Hotels were of a good standard. The Ship was immaculate with good crew and good Tour Director. Disappointed

The cruise director was excellent and communicated with all the passengers clearly. He worked really hard. The dining staff were courteous especially Jeff,Tin. Carrie and serial. The chairs in the dining room were not suitable and many guests carried cushions to the dining room to use. The presentation of the evening meal were excellent but the menus lacked imagination and the meat course were repetitive. The salads at the lunch time buffets were the same each day, while the warm station food was not quite hot enough. Breakfast was good but the scrambled eggs, bacon and other hot dishes were cold as there was no hot plate under them. I think as most of the passengers were elderly some of the trip were really too difficult for many of them. The trip to the farm with a and music was excellent as was the evening cruise in Budapest. All in all we enjoyed our trip but not as much as our dirt trip.

Croatia cruise

Wonderful cruise with lots of opportunities to relax and to learn about Croatia. Local guides were excellent giving insight into the complex history of Croatia . Disappointed with the tour director who was unhelpful with lost luggage, he didn’t give us the information about pick ups to the airport. The crew were helpful and courteous to everyone.

Good choice of destinations

Great Trip!

Our Tour Director, Long, was absolutely excellent, together with the all staff in the hotels, on the ship and the tour guides. An amazing experience in places I really knew very little about beforehand. I have used APT in the past and they always provide the same level of service and attention to detail.

Well done APT

Having completed nearly 50 sea cruises we thought we would try a 15 day APT river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam the best word to describe it was FANTASTIC from the time they picked us up from the house till the time they brought us back The boat, food,cabin, drinks,all the staff and the free daily trips especially in Vienna made it one of our best ever

A most wonderful experience

A very well organised tour with plenty of interesting excursions included. Great attention to customer comfort and abilities. The food was wonderful with great choices and very much leaning towards local ingredients and cuisine although there was always a burger and chips available if you wanted. The hotels were very good and the boat accommodation was excellent. Local guides gave great insight into the history and culture of each country. It was so good that we would certainly use this company again.

Excellent, after a "hiccup"

We spotted what we thought was a real bargain offer and so were keen to make sure we could take advantage of it. We spent some time waiting to be spoken to on the phone before leaving a request for a call back and also getting as far as we could with an online booking which also entailed waiting for a call back. We had heard nothing after an hour (the "hiccup") and so tried ringing again. We got through almost immediately and the agent we spoke to picked up the previous contacts and dealt very politely, efficiently and calmly with our questions and the booking process. She also made us aware of a further price reduction and included transportation to and from the airport that added to this being a good deal, for which we thanked her. Had it not been for the "hiccup" this would have been a 5-star marking.

From the minute we landed in Vietnam…

From the minute we landed in Vietnam the whole trip was well organised with so much packed into such a short period of time. Mr Yee our tour manager was very helpful as were all the guides their knowledge was amazing. On the first leg the only disappointing thing was the exhorbitant cost of the wine over £40 a bottle never paid so much! Our transfer to the ship was charming and again the staff were so helpful special thanks to Maria for sorting my menu (no garlic) to Kelly ,You and Sam for serving our meals and drinks the wine was great. Also a special shout to Mr Johnny for a well run fun ship. A special note about the circus this was hot crowded and no back support which for many was a problem. I would have no hesitation in recommending APT for future trips

Lovely cruise on the Princess Eleganza

Lovely cruise on the Princess Eleganza. Wonderful staff, accommodating and fun. Got a little rough on the sea around Dubrovnik but the Captain did his best to make it as smooth as possible. Informative walking tours, heavily historic-would have enjoyed cultural stories and perhaps some botanical references, especially re the beautiful smelling trees.

Everything was so well planned

Everything was so well planned. There was a wide selection of visits, expeditions and adventures, even different methods of transport. The tour leaders were very knowledgeable and spoke good English. The tour director was always available, and keen to help in every possible way. The hotel manager on the boat treated every one of us as his own family. The staff were exemplary.

Lower Ganges, golden triangle and Mumbai

The cruise part was excellent, with great food and good trips out. The hotels selected were variable with some just tired, some having no hot water (Ranthambore), or engineering works at night and lacking some general cleanliness (Clarks Shiraz). The train elements were just endurable, with closed curtains so no view and dodgy toilets. The Taj Mahal was of course excellent. No transfer was booked from Delhi airport, our fellow passengers managed to resolve by phone but we were stranded for 90 minutes or so. With the 40° heat and 90+ % humidity, we could have done with a little more downtime. Probably a few too many trips to carpet sellers, gem sellers, marble sellers etc. as well. There were many good points too, but nothing like as good as our previous experience on the Vietnam / Cambodia tour. Laxmi Villas lunch was nice and the Gandhi museum and garden was a highlight.

Such an amazing experience

Such an amazing experience! From the assistance with the booking to the farewell party. It was so well organised. Even the gifts (2 backpacks and a document folder) were extremely useful and appreciated. Competent, meticulous and experienced tour manager who accompanied us every step of the way. Knowledgeable guides and an exceptionally good hotel manager/host on the ship. The team building effort he put in really paid off. Johnny is an asset to the company! Thank you again. Fantastic River Cruise

Danube Cruise : Excellent organisation. Welcoming staff. Travelmarvel Vega a Beautiful cruiser with very comfortable rooms, excellent food with superb presentation and very friendly staff. High standard of cleanliness . Cruise director very knowledgable , entertaining and well organised. Good range of built in tours with excellent guides and a good variety of optional tours. Scenery beautiful and lucky to have great weather. A great experience that we really enjoyed and made some good friends.

Vietnam and Cambodia 15 days

The whole trip was extremely well organised and professional. The quality of the hotels was fantastic. The organisation of all the trips and transfers were amazing. As a first timer and a solo travel I was amazed with the whole trip. The cruise director was superb throughout and i would definitely travel with APT in the future. Just a pity that the single supplement costs may prohibit me from travelling solo with APT. Thank you APT for a wonderful experience.

I liked the organisation and care taken…

I liked the organisation and care taken by Travel Marvel both before and during the cruise. I felt at home with whole experience which matters to me as a single traveller. The excursions and guides were excellent as were the hotels in Hanoi, Saigon and Siem Reap. I came home buzzing about the company, the people of Vietnam and Cambodia and to end up at Angkor Wat was spectacular. The river boat was extremely comfortable and food excellent too. Looking forward to travelling with you again.

The tour was punishing

The tour was punishing. Had to get up at around 05.00 each day; sometimes 04.00. Interesting but not relaxing. On last day, sandstorm over Luxor caused us to miss BA flight to London. Local rep insisted we re-book BA flights for next day and pay for them ourselves. Still trying to recoup money. Needless to say, it is not forthcoming and neither has an apology been given

Good route to fabulous locations.

Good route to fabulous locations with a great crew and captain. However the boat and particularly the cabins are very tired and resulted in a less than wonderful experience. I experienced a challenge as my luggage didn’t arrive with me at the airport. I was a little disappointed by the lack of concern or support offered by the Cruise Director. Sadly in all I question if it was value for money.

Everything was very well organised

Everything was very well organised, every member of staff was polite charming and friendly at all times. The food was always very good/excellent at every meal. I will definitely be using APT Travelmaster again.

Well organised New Zealand adventure

The tour was extremely well organised and planned activities were appropriate. Optional activities were also available, if desired. The accommodation and food were of an excellent standard and the local knowledge from the tour director and driver were also superb. Once the usual coach was delivered, things got a lot more comfortable on the long runs between stops. Some of the early starts on days with longer journeys were a bit brutal (if necessary) but overall we really enjoyed the tour.

Coach not fit for purpose

Coach not fit for purpose, hard seats over drives up to 416km / day on poor road surfaces. Aircon had a problem resulting in people developing respiratory distress within days.I finally succumbed day 10 struggling through to Medical Appointment Sat p.m. in Christchurch. Last 5 days were about coping with hard cough and sleepless nights. I've been to my Dr. In Perth and now on stronger Meds as the antibiotics prescribed in Christchurch was inadequate. I'm out of pocketNZ$180.40 and $142.50AUD since end of trip. Scenic Hotel, Dunedin City was poorest quality ever especially in restaurant. Orders lost, delayed & cancelled. " Staffing" given as an explanation. Not our concern as this was most expensive holiday of our 42 years marriage!!

A very good holiday marred by the bad design and functions within of the cabin.

We were disappointed with the layout of our cabin on the Travelmarvel Vega. The door of the shower/toilet was too close to the bed. This caused disturbance to ones partner with the light shinning out across the cabin when the door was opened and the excessive noise of the flushing system, which not only woke up the occupant plus others in the surrounding cabins. The water in the wash basin could not be contained as the plug was fixed open. When moored, we could not see out of our windows, as we had other ships moored up alongside us on both sides. Chairs in the Dining Room were very uncomfortable and offered no support to our backs. The instructions to operate the safe in our cabin was very misleading. On the plus side..... The staff were marvellous. Friendly and efficient. Especially our cabin steward, waitress and Tour Manager. The tours were well organised with very knowledgeable guides The food was very good and plentiful, and the entertainment was very good.

Everything about our River Cruise was wonderful. The organisation of all aspects of trip was first class. Comfort, cleanliness, food, activities and transfers were all taken care of in a very professional way.

Early to bed, early to rise and see loads of New Zealand.

If you don't like getting up early then this trip is not for you but on the other hand if you are happy to rise early and embrace what each day offers then this is an absolutely brilliant way to see as much of New Zealand as possible in 17 days. The itinerary gave an overview of each day but it was added to by all the little extras visible from the coach as we were transported along, coupled with an informative tour leader who filled us in with some history without going over the top. This was my bucket list trip and it did not disappoint.

APT made sure we arrived on our TravelMarvel Vega and looked after us all the way from Nuremberg to Budapest and home again. Very a Tentative staff, comfortable rooms and excellent food. What more could we ask for.

Brilliantly organised and guided the…

Brilliantly organised and guided the same by Tony. To criticise would be merely nitpicking! Occasionally things were a little rushed. The food in Vietnam became rather samey….too many similar taster menus. For those travelling at this time of the year, it should be plenty stressed that you might need some warm clothing and rain gear for both Hanoi and Halong Bay….. many in our group were caught out.

Excellent tour but disappointing food

We loved the tour. The boat, cabins, tour director, crew and local guides were excellent. The drinks were generous but when compared to our last Travel Marvel trip, the choice and taste of food on this tour was a disappointment.
