Walkthrough -

The Avengers get a call about three incidents around the world: one in Siberia, one in the ocean depths, and the last right in New York City. They split into three teams to handle the crises, and we'll be controlling them in turn.

Head up the path and smash the blue barrels in front of the door. Assemble them into a pad and switch to Cap. Stand on this pad and press B, then B again to launch She-Hulk up to some railings. Jump up the railings to the upper ledge, then have Shulkie and Thor (who can fly remember) stand on the two buttons on the left to lower some pieces so Cap can assemble a fan to lift him up to the railings.

Now, you'll be pointed to the top of the nearby enclosure. Have Cap climb up and press B near the flames to stamp them out with your shield. Once the flames are out, smash all the rubble and you'll reveal a generator. Fly Thor up to it and hold down B to charge up electricity, then continue holding B and direct the beam at the generator to charge that up. This will open the door to the enclosure. Inside, target the red, white, and blue "Shield Switch" on the wall with Cap to have him throw his shield at it, which reveals some pieces outside. Now, go to the right-hand enclosure, fly up not to the very top, but to the ledge below, where there's a green-handled door. Use Thor's strength to pull it off, then charge up the generator behind it. Inside, smash up items to find the parts to a Shield Switch, then use it. More pieces will be popped out, and you can assemble them all in front of the door to make a big rotator switch.

Once inside, beat up the bad guys, then smash up the stuff on the left side to find pieces for a red bumper. Go to the right and push the boxes towards the back of the room to reveal another bumper. Go back to the pad in the foreground and press B to begin targeting. Target the bumper on the left to rebound the shield into the obscured Shield Switch. This will open the back door, turning Cap a little kooky. You'll have to beat him up now. Wait for him to charge, stay out of his (red) line of fire, then beat on him while he's got his guard down. If he grabs a character, switch to the other and pound on him. Once Cap's down, the Presence reveals himself.

Defeating the Presence is a matter of beating down his thugs, then smashing him when his shield drops. At a certain point, he'll call Cap up to fight as well, so knock him down the same way you did before.

The Pacific -

You're now with Iron Man and Captain Marvel. As a note, whenever you're underwater, you'll have complete freedom of movement, as if you were flying. Of course, this isn't quite as applicable with this pair since both can fly, but it's useful to keep in mind. Anyway, you'll need to plant some explosive charges to thwart Attuma's scheme in the briny deep. You can either swim to them or simply hop into the open colored pipes to be taken to the location in question.

For the blue pipe, you'll be sent to the right. First, swim to the top and use Iron Man to repair the winch at the top. It will raise a little... box of something. Smash it to get pieces for a switch. Flip it, then switch to Captain Marvel and press B to put up her energy shield, then go inside and press B in front of the engine to place the charge. You'll face Attuma for a small fight, so beat him down for a bit. If he grabs you, switch to the partner to strike.

For the yellow pipe, go to the right of the big door and hold down B (either character) and direct the heat beam to the gold plating to melt it. Pull the switch behind and enter. Use Iron Man and fire his missiles at the hatch above, then swim up and place the charge.

For the red pipe, again go to the right of the big door and heat beam the gold plating and flip the switch. Place the charge inside.

New York City -

Lastly, we'll take a crew of fighters to settle some prisoners who escaped from the Raft. First, to get across the hole in the bridge. Use either Kamala or Spidey and press B near the truck with a plug on the back. This will release some pieces that will make an anchor point. As Spidey, hold X, then target both that point, and the one across the way to create a tightrope. Get everyone across and you'll face the eternal jobber, The Shocker. While you're pounding on Shocker, Mysterio will also show up. He'll create a platform for Shocker to flee to, and will also move a truck into position. Use either Kamala or Spidey to grab both of the plugs on the truck, then assemble the pieces into a panel for Kamala. Switch to her and press B so she drags Shocker down, then finish him off. Note the question marks emanating from the back near the truck. Take Spidey there and whoosh! Vulture shows up AND Kraven the Hunter. It's a Spidey-villain-apalooza! While fighting Kraven, watch out for the lion, but ignore the thugs. Head to the vines in the back and cut them down with White Tiger, then pull on the plug to release pieces. Assemble the roast meat on a spit and the lion will be successfully distracted, just leaving Kraven. Beat him down, avoiding his attacks when they happen. Once he's done, Vulture will take you back down to the bridge, where you'll face Dr. Octopus in a big old Octo-Mech. Just punch him, really. There's very few tricks other than avoiding his attacks.

New Characters: Spider-Gwen, Gwen Stacy

As you can see, things have gotten a little... green since your last battle. You're now in control of both Spidey and Spider-Gwen. Tail the Vulture and fly through the green rings he leaves behind. Once you go through enough, you'll catch up and start pounding on him. Do this three times. After that's done, you'll chase after Green Goblin (2099). Do the same, but watch out for pumpkin bombs. With him taken care of, you'll try to put out some problems that have surfaced as a result of all this wild mess.

At this point you have a choice. Pick one of the groups and you'll head for their respective target. Each is its own mission. For the sake of this walkthrough, the next mission we'll tackle is the one with Star-Lord chasing after the knights on horseback. Head through the portal and you'll transport to Medieval England. Approach the knight and he'll identify himself as Sir Percy. Tail him up to the castle, smashing all the bad guys that pop up. At the top, maybe consider accessing the Map Point so you put all the markers of collectibles on the screen and allow fast travel. Speak to Percy again to begin the mission.

After answering the distress call by Nick Fury, the Avengers split up into three teams to handle worldwide criminal activity. In Siberia, Captain America, She-Hulk, and Thor head towards a research lab where a radiation spike was detected. While inside, the heroes encountered mind controlled scientists, before Captain America also fell under the Presence's control. She-Hulk and Thor then defeated the Presence, releasing Captain America from his control, and rescued the Winter Guard. In the Atlantic Ocean, Iron Man and Captain Marvel arrive at an underwater base where Attuma was meeting with Roxxon executives, planning an invasion. Iron Man and Captain Marvel then blow up the base, but while battling Attuma, Iron Man's armor was damaged. On the Brooklyn Bridge, Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, and White Tiger battle escaped convicts from the Raft, including Doctor Octopus, Vulture, Shocker, Mysterio, and Kraven the Hunter. As the three teams head back to Manhattan, Nick Fury meets with the Guardians of the Galaxy on Liberty Island. Before the Guardians can warn Fury, Damocles Base arrives, with Kang announcing himself. As Fury answers Kang's call, meeting his challenge, Kang uses Damocles Base to destroy the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. At that moment, Kang uses his machines to engulf Manhattan in a bright light, bringing along the Avengers, heading back to Avengers Mansion to regroup.

The Avengers team in Siberia plan to enter the research station. Start by heading up the path and destroy the barrels. Build the pieces into a jump pad and have Captain America boost She-Hulk up towards the railings, then climb up the railings. Have Thor fly up and then have both characters step on the two buttons, and boxes will drop down below. Build the pieces into a fan so Captain America can climb up. Head towards the left building and climb up the ladder, then use Captain America's shield to put out the fires. Use Thor's lightning to charge up the generator and walk into the building. Use Captain America's shield to hit the shield switch on the wall to open the first hatch. Head to the right building and use the elevator to head up to the balcony, then pull down the hatch with the green handles. After charging the generator behind with lightning, the second hatch will open. Build the pieces below into a switch that will open up the door. After defeating the mind controlled scientists, head to the left and destroy the computers to build one bumper. On the left, push the boxes out of the way to reveal the second bumper. Have Captain America throw his shield on the bumpers to hit the shield switch to open the door. Captain America will then be mind controlled. Dodge Captain America's attacks until he's vulnerable, before attacking him. After Captain America's knocked down, the Presence will appear. In order to take down his shield, defeat the minions. For his third phase, he will also have Captain America attack, so defeat him too. Once the Presence's health bar is down, he will be defeated.

Pacific Ocean [ ]

Iron Man and Captain Marvel must take down Attuma's underwater base. Taking the colored pipes will take the characters to one of three turbines to destroy. Through the yellow pipe, melt the gold piece on the right and pull the lever to open the doors. Inside, use Iron Man's missiles to destroy the silver holding on the top right of the room, then swim up to the top. Destroy the turbine on the left of the room. When exiting the room, Attuma will ambush the characters. Knock off part of his health to make him leave. Through the blue pipe, swim up the shaft on the right, then use Iron Man to fix the valve, which will raise a box. Destroy the box and build the pieces into a lever. Use Captain Marvel's shield to bypass the lasers, then destroy the turbine, before fighting off Attuma again. Through the red pipe, melt the gold plate on the right to reveal a lever. Pull it to open the room with the final turbine. Destroy it.

Brooklyn Bridge [ ]

The last team of heroes must defeat all the escaped convicts. Pull the handle on the car to the left to reveal pieces. Build them into a socket so Spider-Man can create a tightrope across. Walk across and start the fight with Shocker. After dealing enough damage, Mysterio will come in and create illusions of himself. After more health has been depleted, Shocker will hop onto a platform, levitated by Mysterio, out of reach of the heroes. Pull down the handles on the truck to build a pad. Have Ms. Marvel pull Shocker down, then defeat him. Head to the marked area as Spider-Man or White Tiger to find Vulture ambush the heroes and bring them up onto the bridge. They'll then be attacked by Kraven the Hunter and a lion. Cut the vines in the back with White Tiger, then pull down the light. Build the pieces into a steak to distract the lion. Then defeat Kraven. Walk into the indicated spot again and Vulture will bring the heroes back down onto the bridge. There, fight against Doctor Octopus in his mech.

Collectables [ ]

• Stan Lee in Peril: In the front of the top area, destroy the box to build a Gravity Booster. Use it to destroy the remaining debris, then build the pieces into a mini volcano that will melt the ice around Stan Lee.
• Minikit #1: Fly up to the upper balcony of the main research base to find the hidden minikit.
• Minikit #2: On the top of the right building, fix the machine to get the minikit.
• Minikit #3: Inside the research lab, push the boxes on the left toward the screen to drop a box. Destroy the box to get a minikit.
• Minikit #4: On the left side on the sea floor, dig up the patch of dirt to uncover a treasure chest. Destroy it to get a minikit.
• Character Token (Black Cat): Use magic on the right to destroy the cage holding the character token.
• Minikit #5: On the right of the three colored pipes is a teleport spot. Teleport through to enter the room with the minikit.
• Minikit #6: After going through the red pipe, head to the left across the balcony to find a crate with two handles on it. Pull them down to uncover the minikit.
• Minikit #7: Inside the room with the yellow turbine, use the fuse box to open the machine. Inside is a minikit.
• Minikit #8: During the Shocker fight, destroy the debris on the right to build a handle. Pull it down to get a minikit.
• Minikit #9: During the Kraven fight, head to the left and destroy the silver boxes. Build the pieces into a minikit.
• Minikit #10: During the Doctor Octopus fight, pull the green handles on the truck to get a minikit.

Tim Leong sat down with Marvel.com to share more about his process, vision, and hopes for Marvel Super Graphic .

Out of all of pop culture, why did you want to write about Marvel Comics? Marvel Comics were my first love. The first comic I remember reading as a kid was an issue of Spider-Man. I started reading comics smack dab in the middle of the Jim Lee era, about a year before the relaunched X-Men came out. I liked Spidey, but I loved the X-Men. I actually got a greater appreciation for the broader Marvel line through the Marvel Universe trading cards. Those cards opened me up to characters and stories I’d never heard of before and made me want to explore outside my current pull list. Those cards had another effect—they first introduced me to bar charts. On the back of the cards, each character had power ratings—my first exposure to comic book data!

What does telling stories with data do that you can’t get otherwise? Marvel has about 85 years' worth of comics. That’s a lot. The goal with this book is to help fans—whether they’re just starting out or are longtime readers—make sense of the thousands of amazing stories, introduce them to characters and stories they should check out, and delight them with interesting info. Sure, I could just write it all out, but charts and graphics provide a visual context that words can’t capture. 

“What can both longtime and new readers expect to get out of this book?” One new feature I added in this book is a series of “Story Spotlights” that focus on some of my favorite storylines: " Days of Future Past, "  the first arc of MS. MARVEL (2014) , " Daredevil: Born Again, " and more. It’s half comic recommendation, two-thirds analytical breakdown, and one-eighth jokes. I think that math checks out. There are also hundreds of characters referenced throughout the book. My hope is that some of them pique the interest of new readers and they’re inspired to read more about them—just like the Marvel trading cards did for me.

• Moscow State University: The tallest of Moscow's Seven Sisters, it's been housing the State University since 1953, being the tallest educational building in the world with its 240m of height.
• Zuev Workers' Club: Projected by Ilya Golossov to be a recreational center for factory workers, its construction was finished in 1929 and it's still a reference in Constructivist architecture.
• Spasskaya Tower: Overlooking the Red Square, this clock tower on the Kremlin's walls was built by Milanese architect Pietro Antonio Solari back in 1491, and once the Kremlin's main entrance.
• State History Museum: The State History Museum complex has been open since 1872, and houses many artifacts, varying from pre-historical relics to artworks acquired by the old royalty.
• Mercury City Tower: The 5th tallest builing in Russia and Europe overall, this 338m tall skyscaper in the International Business Center stands out for its copper glass façade and spiky shape.
• Bolshoi Theater: First opened in 1825, it's home of the internationally renowned classical ballet company, and premiered works of composers such as Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich.

MAFS star Lucinda Light reflects on "absolutely wild" UK trip

She'll be back later in the year!

The star appeared on the 11th season of the reality show , coupling up with Timothy Smith during the experiment before eventually breaking up ahead of the final decision.

Lucinda struck a chord with viewers and has remained popular ever since, with the star embarking on a UK tour - ‘An Evening with Lucinda Light’ - over the summer.

A tour of the LEGO® Ideas Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas set

In 1993, the world got its first glimpse of Halloween Town and met the Pumpkin King Jack Skellington. Ever since then, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas has been a favorite seasonal movie all around the world.

With its distinct claymation characters, unique and darkly delightful Tim Burton world and its catchy songs by Danny Elfman, this movie really has something for everyone.

Now, we prepare ourselves for a trip to Halloween Town with the LEGO® Ideas Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas set. But turning this iconic movie into a LEGO set was no small feat, so we spoke to two designers from the design team to find out how they did it.

This is Halloween!

“I absolutely was a fan of the movie,” says designer César Soares. “I’ve lost count of the times I watched it!”

“I was too scared to watch it when I was younger!” adds designer Laura Perron. “But when I watched it for the first time, I just fell in love with the style and feel of the world.”

Both designers knew that capturing that style and feel was crucial. So, how did they approach the design process?

“By watching the movie again and again and trying to capture as many details as we could,” says César, making his job sound like enjoyable work.

But, Laura adds, there’s more to it than just casually watching.

“We looked at the fan submission and identified what locations and characters are important,” she says. “Then we watched those key scenes over and over to highlight the important details that we needed to include. It was also helpful to look at behind-the-scenes images and production photos. This movie was stop-motion animated by hand, so thankfully there were a few behind-the-scenes images where we could see the whole set and get a sense of the layout.”

It’s our town, everybody scream!

The final set features connectible models of three iconic Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas locations, including Spiral Hill, the Halloween Town Hall and Jack Skellington’s house.

The house has a removable roof that reveals Jack’s formula for Christmas and you can place Jack on the lectern in the Town Hall ready to give his speech.

It captures the off-beat architectural style perfectly, but designing for this environment did come with its challenges.

“The LEGO brick building system is famous for its grid, but in the movie, there are deliberately no straight lines,” says Laura. “It was fun to find ways to make everything look crooked and spindly but still strong and stable.”

The process has led to a wonderful 2,193-piece set that measures over 20 in. (51 cm) wide and is going to make the perfect display for Halloween or Christmas (or both!)

Wouldn’t you like to see something strange?

The quirky, unique design didn’t just extend to the locations though, everyone who has seen Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas will know that it’s packed with unforgettable characters.

Our designers believe that this motley cast of characters plays a big part in why people love the movie.

“The characters are many and rich,” says César.

And Laura adds, “The character design is so distinct and bold and iconic. At first glance, you see this dark world filled with creatures, but the movie has so much heart that you really come to love these characters.”

This set features 8 of these characters, including Jack Skellington, Sally, Santa Claus (or should that be Sandy Claws?), Lock, Shock and Barrel minifigures, plus Zero the dog and a brick-built The Mayor figure with two faces.

I want it for my own!

There aren’t many movies that blend such very different holidays into a single story. Is The Nightmare Before Christmas a light-hearted Halloween movie or a dark Christmas movie? The fact that this question is impossible to answer has always been part of its unique charm.
