CRANS-MONTANA, SWITZERLAND - SEPTEMBER 06: Matt Wallace of England plays his second shot on the 15th hole on Day Two of the Omega European Masters 2024 at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club on September 06, 2024 in Crans-Montana, Switzerland.

England's Matt Wallace carded a brilliant 62 to open up a four-stroke lead at the halfway stage of the DP World Tour's Omega European Masters at Crans-sur-Sierre.

Wallace continued his fast start after following a six-under 64 by registering eight birdies in another bogey-free round on Friday, taking him to 14 under and with a commanding advantage.

The four-time DP World Tour winner opened with three straight pars before chipping in twice in as many holes from the fourth, part of a run of five birdies in a six-hole stretch to see him reach the turn in 30.

Ryder Cup on Wallace's mind?

Wallace said he was concentrating on consistency rather than winning tournaments as he has a longer-term view of making next year's Ryder Cup team, after missing out on selection having been close in 2018 and 2023.

"It's not just about the win, it's playing well," Wallace said. "Luke (Donald, Ryder Cup captain) wants you to play well and I want to play well so I'm going to try to play well every single day and what comes from it comes from it.

"It is good, competition, but I want to get away from the competition as much as possible."

Featured Movies, Tour Dates and More on the 2024 Level 1 Freeski Film Tour

' src=

Featured Image: Level 1 Productions | Skier : Chris Logan

It wasn’t too long ago that ski film tours had grown… stagnant. That’s not to say that they were boring; ski movie premiers are always a blast. Poster signings and giveaways put a smile on the face of any rational person. However, for most of the large production companies, it had been done, and done again with little change.

But in 2021, Level 1 shook up the game. They compiled a collection of independent films, some of which they’d sponsored, and took off across the United States to show them to passionate skiers from coast to coast. The Level 1 Freeski Film Tour was born, and now it’s back for a third year of rowdy crowds and phenomenal ski flicks.

On September 6th, our friends at Level 1 will kick off this magnificent skiing exposé starting in their home city of Denver, Colorado. The tour will continue on to the following destinations below:

9/6-9/7 – Denver, Colorado

9/10 – Bozeman, Montana

9/12 – Salt Lake City, Utah

9/14 – Bend, Oregon

9/15 – Seattle, Washington

9/20 – Madison, Wisconsin

9/21 – Detroit, Michigan

9/24 – New York City, New York

9/26 – Boston, Massachusetts

9/29 – Burlington, Vermont

10/10 – Whitefish, Montana *Limited Lineup

Most of the 2024 Freeski Film Tour offerings will remain constant across each city. Every stop on the tour will see films from Colby Stevenson, Ben Smith & Birk Irving, Keegan Kilbride, Svea Irving, Sammy Carlson, the Keep Standing crew, as well as a special feature from Hugo Bruvall, Oliver Karlberg, Siver Voll and Aleksi Patja.

If you can make it to the world premier in Denver, dubbed the Freeski Film Fest, you’ll get a few bonus flicks. Night One in Denver will show projects by Laurent De Martin and Suede, while Night Two hosts the latest installment of Bucket Clips, as well as features from Bobby Brown and The Runge. If you’re feeling ambitious, Level 1 is offering a combo deal including tickets to both nights .

But it doesn’t end there. Level 1 will be showing their 25th anniversary film, “ Wasteland ,” at each location, (with the exception of Denver Night Two.) The production powerhouse fired the cameras up this winter and gave the director seat to Owen Dahlberg and Andrew Mildenberger. These two incredible cameramen have poured their hearts into this project without a doubt, delivering a film that, “[celebrates] 25 years of Level 1, but focused only on the future.”

If the Level 1 Freeski Film Fest is heading to a town near you, we urge you to head out for a night of freeski excitement. Whether you’ve been skiing for decades or just picked it up last winter, you’re guaranteed to meet a few great people, see a plethora of excellent films, grab some free signed posters and get fired up for the coming winter. FREESKIER will be joining the fun in Denver and Bozeman, and we can’t wait to see you there!

New York Times columnist David Brooks and Boston Globe columnist Kimberly Atkins Stohr join Geoff Bennett to discuss the week in politics, including Donald Trump getting a political reprieve after the judge overseeing his New York criminal case delays his sentencing, if there's a double standard for what Trump and Harris say and former Vice President Dick Cheney announces he's voting for Harris.

Geoff Bennett:

Donald Trump is granted a political reprieve after the judge overseeing his New York criminal case delays his sentencing, as Kamala Harris picks up some new Republican support.

On that and more, we turn tonight to the analysis of Brooks and Atkins Stohr. That's New York Times columnist David Brooks, and Boston Globe columnist Kimberly Atkins Stohr. Jonathan Capehart is away this evening.

Great to see you both.

Kimberly Atkins Stohr, The Boston Globe:

Good to see you.

David Brooks:

So, as I just said, former President Donald Trump will not be sentenced in his New York criminal case until after Election Day. The judge in that case, Juan Merchan, explained that his decision to delay the sentencing was in part to avoid any appearance of affecting the outcome of the presidential race.

Kimberly, I will come to you on this one first, because, in addition to being a political analyst and an opinion writer, you're also a former trial attorney. Did Judge Merchan get this right?

Kimberly Atkins Stohr:

I think that he did.

Look, he could have gone either way. I think there are arguments in either direction, just to keep the sentencing where it was or to push it off. But one thing a judge wants to do is to make sure the rulings that he makes stick. And I think the fewer — the less obfuscation or appeals or kerfuffle that can happen before the election, the better.

It doesn't really do that much difference to put it off after the election. Remember, we're not talking about a likely prison sentence here. We are talking about something that's going to be below that, maybe at best probation, some fines.

So I think it was the right decision just to keep it out of the political sphere entirely.

David, you could argue, though, that this does affect the election in the sense that Donald Trump's criminal convictions likely won't be at the forefront of the campaign in the final weeks to Election Day.

And delay has been a feature of each of his criminal cases.

Yes, I'd have to believe it will affect the election if I had any evidence that any of these trials has affected the polling. And I just haven't seen that during the indictment phase, even during the investigation phase, when the FBI went to Mar-a-Lago in that case, and then when the conviction in New York, potentially with a sentencing.

Just haven't seen that much movement. People have their views of Donald Trump's morality pretty much locked down. And the people who are going to decide the election are not high-engagement voters. And sometimes for those of us in this business, it's worth reminding ourselves that sometimes it could be misleading to follow the campaign day to day, because we think, oh, things are happening.

But for most voters, nothing's happening. They're not paying attention to any of it. They're looking at the fundamentals. Who's going to be better on the economy? Who's better on foreign policy? Who's better for me? And so a lot of these events, they just come and go.

Well, Donald Trump is drawing attention for the way that he answered a question about his childcare plan yesterday. He was asked at the Economic Club of New York how he would handle childcare legislation if elected president. Here is part of his nearly-two-minute long answer.

Donald Trump, Former President of the United States (R) and Current U.S. Presidential Candidate: I think, when you talk about the kind of numbers that I'm talking about, that — because childcare is childcare.

It couldn't — there's something — you have to have it. In this country, you have to have it. But when you talk about those numbers compared to the kind of numbers that I'm talking about by taxing foreign nations at levels that they're not used to, but they will get used to it very quickly.

And it's not going to stop them from doing business with us, but they will have a very substantial tax when they send product into our country. Those numbers are so much bigger than any numbers that we're talking about, including childcare, that it's going to take care of it.

Kimberly, your reaction to what you heard there?

To paraphrase the former president from his debate, I don't know what he said and I don't think he understands what he said either.

Listen, childcare is a gimme question on the campaign trail for a presidential candidate. It's something that everyone cares about. Access to affordable childcare is one of the key points to our economy. And the fact that he starts wandering off in thoughts about tariffs and China that have absolutely nothing to do with it shows he either has no plan or he hasn't given this any thought, or both.

I also think, if the Democratic Party had a family talk about the cognitive abilities of Joe Biden, then it's a long past time that the Republican Party confront the same thing about Donald Trump, because something's going on there.

And, David, there's the way that he said what he said, but there's also the substance of what he was saying, this notion that tariffs will take care of childcare costs, to use his phrasing.

So we should say Donald Trump is floating a 10 percent across-the-board tariff on everything that's imported into the U.S. And economists across the political spectrum have basically said that is a tax on consumers that will raise costs across the board.

But what's your take on what he said and how he said it?

Yes, I mean, this is — we can't blame this on cognitive decline, because he's been not understanding tariffs for about 10 years now.

And so he thinks somehow you put a tariff on, we're — the Chinese are going to pay for it. But, as you just said, the American consumer is going to pay. And Kamala Harris has said this will raise American costs $3,600 a year for each family.

And so he just doesn't understand what a tariff is, because — and he doesn't understand his basic fundamental policy. There have been a lot of bad policy ideas thrown around, as there always are in a general election campaign. I'm not a fan of some of the way Kamala Harris wants to realize — wants to tax unrealized capital gains, which strikes me as economic mystery.

But the single worst policy idea on the table before us is the Trump tariffs. That will definitely raise costs, raise inflation, really be a tremendous setback to the economy.

And he just says it because it sounds good because he's being tough on China. So a lot of policies that are floating out there, they're not about the policy. They're about sending some sort of emotional image. And that's what Donald Trump manipulates.

And, Kimberly, back to your point about the asymmetry in this race, the double standard, where President Biden can mistakenly refer to the president of Egypt as he meant to say the president of Mexico, and that adds to this narrative that ultimately drove him from the race.

Donald Trump can rant at a rally or ramble through a statement like that, and it's largely ignored. What do you see as the practical effect of that?

Well, I think if — as people see it more and more, especially juxtapose Kamala Harris, which, whether you like her policies or not, she is laying out policies. She is speaking in complete sentences and paragraphs about her vision for the American future.

And you see Donald Trump asked a question, again, about childcare, something that impacts all of us, and he cannot seem to stay on track about that, thinking about leading a nation at a time, at this current time when we do want to keep the economy on track, when there are threats, both domestically and foreign

I think seeing this again — people sort of forgot about Trump for a while. I think seeing this again is a stark reminder that there is a clear, clear division, a clear difference in this area.

Well, former Congresswoman Liz Cheney this week said that she's voting for Kamala Harris, that, in her words, there's never been an individual in our country who is as grave a threat to our democracy as Donald Trump is.

And then, today, speaking at the Texas Tribune Festival, she said that her father, the former Vice President Dick Cheney, is voting for Kamala Harris too. Take a listen.

Dick Cheney, your father, a beloved figure among Democrats for many, many years…

… do you, if you know who he will be supporting or who he will be voting for, do you care to share with us who he might be voting for?

Fmr. Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY):

Dick Cheney will be voting for Kamala Harris.

So, Dick Cheney, stalwart conservative, no one can accuse him of being a RINO Republican in name only. He served, I think, four Republican presidents, if memory serves me correctly.

What do you see as the significance of their dual support for Kamala Harris?

Who knows. Maybe he's swinging left. He's going to move to Park Slope. He's going to come in hippie.

That, I'd like to see.

For a lot of Republicans, character comes before policy.

And I think the Cheneys are among those Republicans and there were a lot of Bush Republicans for whom that was just an article of faith. The other interesting thing is about how interesting a decade the 2010s was, when the Republicans had a total hostile takeover from outsiders, Trump and MAGA.

And so it left all the Bush people I know, like, we can't support this, not all, but 80 percent of the Bush people. And President Bush and Dick Cheney are among them. The Democrats had an attempted hostile takeover from Bernie Sanders, but it didn't take. And so they're a party that's still unified, and the MAGA is a party that's left behind a lot of people like Dick Cheney, and a lot — not only Dick Cheneys, but suburban Republicans who voted for Bush and Cheney.

Do you think an endorsement — or maybe it's not officially an endorsement.

Do you think the show of support will make a difference?

I think that it can, as David said, in a certain segment. Zillennials probably don't even know who Dick Cheney is.

But if you're talking to people, disaffected Republicans who might — are considering either holding their nose and voting for Trump or maybe staying home, it's showing them that there is another way. If they don't like what Trump stands for and what he wants, there's a way in this election to do something different and try to eliminate him from the political arena entirely.

Does the support from the Cheneys make it harder for a George W. Bush to stay on the sidelines, or does it make it harder for a Chris Christie, a Chris Sununu, or a Bill Barr, for that matter, to say that Kamala Harris is worse?

No. Bush doesn't — he loves it on the sidelines. Bush seems to be the happiest guy on Earth on the sidelines.

I think I'd just emphasize something Kimberly said, which is a lot of people are like, I can't vote for these people. I can't vote for either of these people. Cheney gives a little permission structure to people, OK, I'm not just going to sit it out. I'm going to vote for Kamala Harris. I need to step up and save our republic from this.

And so I think it will help with a certain segment on that point.

We have got about a minute left.

Just quickly, what are you watching for in the debates next Tuesday?

I really hope that they talk about the Supreme Court. I was disappointed that we did not see that last time.

But I think, overall, so long as Kamala Harris keeps her prosecutor stance and — that she will be able to handle Donald Trump.

I think so, but I'm not sure. She hasn't done it, so you don't know.

For Donald Trump, everything's an alpha male dominance contest. And so he's going to try to do body language, screaming. He's going to try to do everything just to look bigger. He is physically a lot bigger than she is. And he's going to use that.

Whether it comes across as obnoxious or aggressive and manly, well, I probably already have my opinion on that one.

All right, we will have special coverage on Tuesday night.

David Brooks and Kimberly Atkins Stohr, thanks so much. Have a great weekend.

Kings of Leon reflect on their road to success as they kick off new tour

Kings of Leon, who exploded onto the music scene in 2008 with songs like “Use Somebody” and “Sex on Fire,” are back with a fresh new sound and a newfound energy.

The rock group, which dropped their ninth album “Can We Please Have Fun” in May, has garnered significant buzz and climbed the Billboard charts again thanks to songs like “Mustang.”

For more on this story watch Top Story with Tom Llamas on NBC News NOW tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. CT.

“I will say I’ve never felt this good in my life. And I feel like all of us could say that this is the best we’ve ever felt as a band,” lead singer Caleb Followill told NBC News in an exclusive interview from their studio in Nashville, Tennessee. “After success... it just feels like you’re trying to kind of match something or meet people’s expectations. With this album, I feel like we just kind of shed all that and just wanted to make something that excited us and us alone. As selfish as that sounds.”

But the group says that their latest album title isn’t ironic.

When asked if there was a time when they weren’t having fun, Caleb said: “Several times I think before this album ... it felt like things were kind of coming to an end or maybe the inspiration was kind of fizzling out.”

The group, which consists of brothers Caleb, Nathan, Jared and cousin Matthew Followill, said that in the years following their smash hits and mainstream success, they began to lose their initial excitement. It nearly caused them to go their separate ways.

“I think there have been times when we’ve all felt amongst ourselves like, ‘Yeah, this isn’t as fun as it once was, and it feels like work,’” Caleb said.

But after the death of their mom, Betty-Ann, in 2021, the group began to find their spark again.

“I do believe that her passing was the key to us finding that inspiration. So all of this is because of that,” Caleb said.

And for the band, a new beginning also meant leaving their longtime record label RCA and moving over to Capitol Records.

“Just getting rid of some of that kind of corporate feel, which, you know, they were always good to us,” Jared said. “It was not a bad relationship whatsoever, but just being able to do it ourselves. ... It felt like an indie record, and that’s when we had fun.”

Kings of Leon made a name for themselves in their early days with their songs that oozed sex appeal and were rooted in their rock ’n’ roll lifestyle. But a lot has changed since then. These guys now are proud dads with a combined nine kids between them.

“It’s great. It’s an added layer to tour life,” Nathan said. “As far as another thing we have in common that we can kind of commiserate with, or, you know, sit there and be sad that we’re missing them.”

Instead of pulling all-nighters, Jared laughed, “We like to party until the sun goes down.”

Their kids even at times inspiring songs on their new album, like in the lyrics of “Mustang”: “There’s a Mustang in the city / And it’s calling me out / Are you a Mustang or a kitty?”

“It would be like, what are they wearing? It’s like, ‘Oh, he’s wearing a Mustang T-shirt. Okay, I’m gonna sing about a Mustang,’” Caleb explained. “She’s watching a video about cats. I’m gonna compare a Mustang to a kitty, you know?’”

For these guys, who kicked off their North American tour last month, it’s always been about family. They began dabbling in music when they were on the road with their parents, as their dad, a traveling preacher, took them to small Southern towns.

“Everything about our childhood is the reason that we’re here,” Caleb said. “The fact that we grew up in a car, as opposed to a house. The fact that we had windows instead of television, you know? We were sponges soaking it all in, even if we didn’t realize it. We didn’t have the latest games and toys. So we had to make up our own things ... it formed us to be creative."

It was through performing in churches that they realized maybe music could be more than just a hobby.

“I don’t know if anybody knew what to expect ... they were almost just like, ‘Go do it,’ ‘Go see what happens,’ and ‘We’ll be here when it, you know, maybe, probably doesn’t work.’ But yeah, our mom and dad were both just kind of cautiously optimistic,” Jared said.

The Followill family bonds run deep. The boys named their band after their late grandfather Leon.

“He was the biggest fan,” Caleb said. “Whenever we were coming up with band names, something with kings popped up. And then when ‘Kings of Leon,’ when that was said, we realized that it was something that was going to tie us all together because he’s all of our grandfather.” The singer and guitarist added: “He was very proud. And it’s a great, great feeling when you can make your grandparents proud.”

As they cross the country again, this time hitting stages in cities like New York, Austin, Texas, and their hometown, Nashville, they realize that putting on a show for fans is more important than ever because these days going to a concert isn’t cheap. According to Pollstar, the average ticket price for top tours this year hit a record $123. Something the guys say gives them even more of a reason to provide their fans with a show they’ll remember.

“It can’t just be something they’ve seen before,” Caleb said. “So for us, in every aspect of what we do, we have stepped it up ... Otherwise, we kind of look around [and] it’s like the conveyor belt.”

Ways they are spicing up their tour is by debuting an exclusive song in each city and adding visuals to their music on stage.

As they reflect on their 20-year journey, they’re just grateful to be making music and, of course, having fun.

“Fun looks like all this ... what we’re doing,” Matthew said. “You know, it’s not lost on us how lucky we are and what we do. We’re just so lucky to still be here doing it.”

The Ensouled World Tour (which commences after Ensoulment is released on 6th September) will not have a support act, but instead be comprised of two sets, with an intermission in between.

Set one will be the new album, ensoulment , in its entirety. set two will be a retrospective set of the the classics*.

* Our concert in Dublin is the only date listed below where we DO have a support act, the brilliant A Lazarus Soul ! As such, we will be performing a single set rather than two but one that features songs from the new album rather than the new album in entirety.

Please see below a complete list of all tickets now available to purchase.

In the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, we have once again partnered with Twickets so that you can buy / sell spare tickets at the price they were meant to be sold for, protecting both buyers and sellers from fraud and overpricing. So if a show is SOLD OUT and you are looking for tickets, or if you can no longer attend one of our concerts, see our official Twickets page HERE .

In the USA and Canada, we also want to give our supporters, not scalpers, the best chance to buy tickets at face value. To help achieve this, the tour will be using Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange  where, if needed, you can resell your ticket to other fans at the original price paid. To help protect the Exchange, THE THE has also chosen to make tickets for this tour mobile only and restricted from transfer.* Please note, a valid bank account or debit card within the country of your event is required to sell on the Face Value Exchange.

*New York, Illinois, Colorado, Virginia and Connecticut have passed state laws requiring unlimited ticket resale and limiting artists’ ability to determine how their tickets are resold. To adhere to local law, tickets in these states will not be restricted from transfer but the artist encourages fans to use the Face Value Exchange.

Lungomare is a platform for design and cultural production.

We carry out commissions and initiate artistic projects. In collaboration with clients, artists and other experts we develop strategies and concepts that focus on finding the appropriate form for the content to be conveyed.

Our work encompasses communication, exhibition design, spatial concepts and curatorial projects. We create meeting places and experiential spaces in the urban context and we invite artists to work with us to develop thematic and site specific projects.

Lungomare operates in a variety of different spaces: public and private, virtual and print, urban and curated.

The Lungomare cooperative combines culture and design.

Emerging from the design studio Lupo Burtscher and the cultural association Lungomare, the newly founded cooperative brings together these two practices and their related fields of work and experience.

Want to Move Abroad? Here Are Five Ways to Do It.

The path to a life in a new country is often paved with complicated visa and residency requirements.

People walking through an airport carrying luggage.

By Ronda Kaysen

Americans can travel to scores of countries without getting a visa in advance, making the United States passport among the most coveted in the world. But while it’s relatively easy to plan a vacation abroad, planning a permanent move is often complicated, protracted and uncertain.

Generally speaking, most people live abroad because of a job or remote work, school, a path to residency or citizenship through a relative, or personal wealth. Absent those scenarios, an American’s access to a new life in a different country narrows considerably.

Even those who do have the means to live abroad often face hurdles. A cottage industry of lawyers, accountants, coaches, health insurance experts and real estate agents can, for the right fee, help you decide where to go, how to get there, and how to navigate confusing residency rules. In recent years, top destinations for Americans include Mexico, Canada and Britain.

“It’s just a project, and you have to work through the steps like any project, but it is doable,” said Jen Barnett, a founder of Expatsi, a company that helps Americans figure out how to move abroad.

Here’s a guide on how to move abroad as an American:

Choosing Where to Go

Stroll the cobblestone streets of a picturesque seaside village and it’s easy to imagine a life stripped of the grind and responsibilities of home. But living in a place is far different than vacationing in one, and immigration rules vary tremendously.

First, do your homework.

Study the culture, customs and climate of a region. Figure out the cost of living and the exchange rate to better understand how far your dollars will go and what your daily life might look like. Learn the language, if you don’t already speak it (or at least, start taking conversational classes and arrange to continue your studies locally). Join local social media groups for Americans already living in the country. Read up on the country’s history, government, politics and culture.

Do a trial run by planning an extended stay, if you can — Americans can visit Europe as tourists for three months and Mexico for six.

“Meet the locals,” said Doris Speer, the president of AARO, a nonpartisan association for Americans living outside the country, which estimates that 5.4 million Americans live abroad, not including military families. “Go there and see how you feel.”

A Question of Time and Money

Just how long the process takes and how much it costs will depend on your destination and your personal situation. It could take months, or even years, to dig up all the necessary documents and complete the bureaucratic steps to prove that your lineage correctly connects you to, say, Italy, to meet the country’s criteria for citizenship by descent.

For a few thousand dollars, an immigration lawyer can advise you about how to qualify for a long-stay visa or residency in a specific country and help you navigate the process. Consult a tax attorney and an accountant, since Americans living abroad can never escape filing federal income taxes back home as long as they retain their citizenship, even if they never set foot on U.S. soil and never work for an American company.

Factor in moving expenses, too. You will either need to pay to ship your possessions around the world or you will need to buy new ones once you arrive.

A Ticket Through Work or School

If you are itching to travel and work for a company with international offices, you may be able to apply for a transfer, and your employer could help you navigate the process. (Even in that scenario, brace yourself for speed bumps that could cause delays.)

You could look for a job in another country while still in the United States, and get sponsored by that employer. Several countries, including Canada, Australia and New Zealand, recruit highly skilled workers. Depending on your line of work, you might need to transfer or update professional credentials or licenses, which can take time, involve tests or even more training.

Digital nomad visas, and similar ones, are available in dozens of countries including Ecuador, Spain and Croatia. These longer-stay visas are designed for remote workers who earn their income outside the country. In some cases, you can apply online for a minimal fee. Be prepared to show supporting documents like bank statements, proof of income, health insurance and proof of remote employment.

If you are considering going back to school for an undergraduate or advanced degree, look for programs in another country and live abroad on a student visa.

Consider Your Heritage

Some countries offer citizenship by descent. The rules change from one country to the next, and can be nuanced and confusing. To prove your familial ties to a parent, grandparent or great-grandparent, prepare to find birth certificates, marriage certificates and immigration papers for yourself and your ancestors.

Tap Your Nest Egg

Money helps. Many countries like France, Mexico and Panama offer long-term residency to foreigners who can show they have enough savings or pension income to support themselves independently. While several countries have recently ended or scaled back their golden visa programs, there are still countries where you buy real estate — Malta, Greece and Malaysia, to name a few — to gain residency and, in some cases, a path to citizenship.

Our Coverage of U.S. Immigration

When One Partner Is Deported:  American citizens whose spouses have been deported face wrenching decisions on what is best  for their future, especially when they have children.

Asylum Restrictions:  The Biden administration is considering actions that would make the president’s tough but temporary asylum restrictions almost impossible to lift , essentially turning what had been a short-term fix into a central feature of the asylum system in America.

Immigration Divides a Town: Jobs attracted thousands of Haitians to Springfield, Ohio, and employers were ecstatic. But a fatal bus crash touched off resentment , and JD Vance entered the fray.

Undocumented Spouses:  A judge paused a Biden administration program  that could offer a path to citizenship to undocumented immigrants who are married to U.S. citizens, ruling in favor of 16 Republican-led states.

Texas Stopped Busing in June: Gov. Greg Abbott’s program  forced Democrats to talk about the border. But a  dramatic drop in the number of migrants  has left the buses idle.
