A seaplane is a type of aircraft with fixed wings that can easily take off and land on water. This type of aircraft is categorized as either a seaplane or an amphibious plane. Seaplanes are equipped with modern technology such as GPS, and weather radar. Each seaplane has 14 seats, with 12 of those seats reserved for passengers. Travelers will sit in their own private cabin and can observe their surroundings through a screen, as well as use their phones and cameras to capture the view.

Scenic Flight Schedule for Ha Long Bay

Currently, only Hai Au Aviation provides seaplane services in Ha Long Bay. There are 3 services available: scenic flights, transfer flights, and chartered flights. This allows tourists to choose the type of service that suits their budget and preferences.

Transfer Flight 

The flight schedule for transit flights from Hanoi (Noi Bai Airport) to Tuan Chau (Halong) and vice versa is available daily, including the scenic flight program (except for the Tuan Chau – Noi Bai flight departing at 4:00 PM without a scenic flight program).

Seaplanes Flight Schedule

If you want to take a scheduled flight, you can register for the itinerary from Hanoi to Halong or vice versa. Every day, Hai Au Aviation provides 2 to 3 flights to serve customers.

The flight time for each trip is about 45 minutes. The departure point in Hanoi is at counter 109, Terminal 1, Hall E, Noi Bai International Airport. In Halong, the seaplane will land at the Tuần Châu Marina, T7 Terminal.

Scenic flight schedule 

For scenic flights, Hai Au Aviation provides 3 to 5 flights every day. The flight time for each scenic flight is about 25 minutes.

For this type of flight, the company will choose seaplanes to fly at heights ranging from 300 to 2000 meters. This way, tourists will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of Halong Bay. The cost of renting a seaplane for scenic flights ranges from 2.5 to 3 million VND.

Transfer flight schedule 

Charter flight.

The most luxurious package when using Halong seaplanes is the charter flight. The price for this type of service is the highest because it can cost up to nearly 100 million VND during peak season.

Tourists can choose from available flight schedules or fly on-demand, with or without a scenic view. The charter flight time can range from 25 to 45 minutes or 1 hour.

• When registering for a seaplane tour of Halong Bay, you will need to travel to the point where the seaplane is docked at the Tuần Châu International Port. In Hanoi, tourists need to go to hall E and will be picked up by the pilot to start the journey. There will be two pilots, including a foreign captain and a Vietnamese co-pilot, so there will be no difficulty in communication. Before the flight, you will also be fully instructed and informed about safety issues or itinerary exchanges.
• Each seaplane is equipped with life jackets for customers to use. There are also safety instructions for passengers, water, and bags inside the seaplane.

• Can I choose my seat on the flight?

Your seat will be arranged by the pilot team. The pilots will arrange seating based on passenger weight, balance, and maximum safety criteria. Queuing beforehand does not affect your seating position on the plane.

Upon your arrival at Tuan Chau port , you will be greeted by the Seaplane team and quickly complete the check-in formalities. Once on board, you will enjoy an aerial view of the many islands, which resemble mountain ranges, embodying the meaning of "Ha Long" or "descending dragon."

During the scenic flight, you will admire some of the best highlights of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay . These include Dau Be Island , part of an archipelago on the outer route of Ha Long Bay and a gateway to Lan Ha Bay; Cong Do Island , located in Bai Tu Long Bay southeast of Ha Long Bay, known for its sea valleys and natural lakes; and Bo Hon Island , home to several famous caves including Sung Sot, Luon, Trinh Nu, and Trong, as well as the picturesque Dong Tien Lake.

After a 20-minute flight, the seaplane will land on the waters of Tuan Chau, concluding this unique experience. You can then either hop into your car for the journey back to Hanoi or embark on a boat for a Halong Bay cruise.

Day 1: HANOI – HALONG BAY

08h30: Our private car will pick you up at your hotel and transfer to Noi Bai Airport. 09h30: Welcome and assistance at the airport for check in at COUNTER 109, DOMESTIC HALL E, TERMINAL 1, NOI BAI AIRPORT Luggage allowance : 07kgs/ per person Enjoy one hour flight and see Halong Bay from the sky before landing (45 minutes flight + 15 minutes scenic tour). 11h00: Landing at Tuan Chau Marina, Halong Bay. Free time at Paradise Café on Tuan Chau Island. 12h00 – 12h30: Embark to Paradise Luxury Cruise. 12h30: Welcome drink, cruise briefing, safety instructions and check-in cabins. 12h45: Depart to Halong Bay, cruise and program commence. 13h00 – 14h30: Special Paradise Lunch onboard is ready in dining room. 14h45 – 15h45: Arrive at Cua Van floating fishing Village. One of the largest floating villages in the bay – rowing around the village by local rowing boats or do kayaking– captures the daily life of the local fisherman. 15h45 – 17h00: The vessels will continue cruising in Halong Bay, passing by famous attractions such as Tien Ong Cave, a favourite attraction for archaeologists because of its rich history, Trong Cave, a cave in a shape of a drum, Ho Dong Tien, a cave that has a lake inside and is believed to have fairies descending in the lakes, Luon Cave, where the golden hair monkeys can be found. Ti Top Island, where you can find the most stunning 3600  view of Halong Bay and Coconut Tree Island of the overnight stay. Enjoy the spa at your leisure onboard. 17h00 – 19h00: Enjoy “ Happy Hour” buy one take one on selected beverages, while the vessels anchor at the Coconut Tree Island for overnight stay. 18h00 – 19h00: Enjoy cooking demonstration with the chef onboard to discover a short history of the Vietnamese cuisine. Learn how to toast the Vietnamese way through the evening’s toast of the local rice wine and followed by the Pre-dinner cocktails on the sundeck serving assorted canapés and nuts. 19h30 – 22h00: Feast on an elegant Paradise dinner. 06h30: Tai Chi session on sundeck. 07h00-07h30: Rejuvenate with a cup of coffee or tea with some assorted homemade pastries afterwards. 07h30 – 08h30: Relax or visit Sung Sot Cave, a cave that was discovered by a group of French explorers in 1901 with some magnificent limestone formations and considered as one of the most beautiful caves in Halong Bay. 09h30: time for check out and settle all bills 10h30: Arrive Tuan Chau Island after cruise 12h10: Board the seaplane for a 45-minute flight back to Noi Bai Airport Hanoi.
