ATLANTA -- He is the Grammy-nominated comedian, New York Times best-selling author, top touring performer, and multi-platinum-selling father of five. Now Jim Gaffigan is bringing his all-new comedy act to Atlanta to Philips Arena on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 pm. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, March 3 at 10 a.m. and will be available for purchase at the Philips Arena box office and Ticketmaster.com.

He recently wrapped the first season of his semi-fictitious television show, The Jim Gaffigan Show, which TV Land picked up for a second season and premieres this summer. The series, lauded by The Los Angeles Times as “Fun and Funny,” and People Magazine as “One of Summer TV’s bright spots,” was developed by Peter Tolan along with Gaffigan and his wife, Jeannie, who both also serve as executive producers and showrunners. The single-camera comedy co-stars Ashley Williams, Michael Ian Black, and Adam Goldberg and revolves around one man’s struggle to balance fatherhood, stand-up comedy and an insatiable appetite.

With multiple projects in motion, Gaffigan is currently traveling the world on behalf of his stand-up tour and headlined Madison Square Garden for the first time in December, becoming one of only 10 comics in history to sell out The Garden. Last fall, Gaffigan had the honor of performing in front of Pope Francis and over 1 million festival attendees at the Festival of Families in Philadelphia.

In 2013, Jim’s first book, Dad Is Fat, was released by Crown Publishing and debuted at #5 on The New York Times Bestseller’s List and remained on the list for 17 weeks.  His second book, Food: A Love Story, was released in the fall of 2014 and debuted at #3 on The New York Times Bestseller’s List.

In addition to his own television show, widely popular stand-up comedy and best-selling books, Jim has guest starred on many television comedies and dramas, ranging from “Portlandia” to HBO's cult hits “Flight of the Concords” and “Bored to Death” to dramatic roles in all three versions of “Law & Order.”  On the silver screen, his credits include Three Kings, Hot Pursuit, Super Troopers, and 17 Again amongst many others. Taking a dramatic turn, Gaffigan costarred Peter Saragaard and Winona Ryder in Magnolia Picture’s 2015 drama, Experimenter, and will next be seen opposite Naomi Watts, Liev Schreiber, Ron Perlman and Elisabeth Moss in the independent film, The Bleeder.

• Approved media members may bring backpacks, provided that they undergo screening at the Media Entrance.

He is known around the world for his unique brand of humor, which largely revolves around his observations on life.

A top ten comedian according to Forbes’ 2019 comedy list, Jim released his 8 th stand-up special, The Pale Tourist, on Amazon. He was also recently awarded for being the first comedian to reach one billion streams on Pandora. His 9 th stand-up special, Comedy Monster, premiered on Netflix last December. 

Up next, Gaffigan will be seen as the lead in the Sci-Fi dramedy, Linoleum , and will star as Mr. Smee in Disney’s Peter Pan and Wendy , opposite Jude Law and Yara Shahidi.  He will also co-star Jerry Seinfeld, Melissa McCarthy, James Marsden, and Hugh Grant in Netflix’s Unfrosted , and co-stars in the independent film Susie Searches which premiered at TIFF this year. HBO Max recently announced Gaffigan joined the cast of Full Circle, a limited series from Steve Soderbergh and Ed Solomon which follows an investigation into a botched kidnapping connecting multiple characters and cultures in present day NY.

Gaffigan was also recently heard in Disney/Pixar’s highly anticipated film, Luca, opposite Jacob Tremblay and Maya Rudolph.

On the silver screen, his many credits include Three Kings , Super Troopers 1 & 2 , and Chappaquiddick . 2019 was Gaffigan’s biggest year to date with an astonishing eight films releasing, three which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival including Troop Zero with Viola Davis and Alison Janney, Them That Follow and Light From Light – with many festival goers and press calling Gaffigan the “King of Sundance.”   

Gaffigan also had two films recently in which he debuted as the lead. The comedic film Being Frank , and American Dreamer , a dark thriller which was the grand finale of 2019 for Jim and features him as a ride share driver who moonlights as a private driver for a drug dealer. Gaffigan can also currently be seen opposite Ethan Hawke in IFC Films Tesla, as well as opposite Josh Hartnett in Saban Films Most Wanted.

Jerry Seinfeld and Jim Gaffiga n are hitting the road, and this time, they’re not just going out for coffee. After first meeting in 2016 for an episode of Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee , the two comics have now announced plans to team up for a four-date joint arena tour.

Indeed, the two first crossed paths and bonded over their similarities on the talk show’s eighth season. Seinfeld picked up Gaffigan in a 1977 Volkswagen Camper Bus, and they went out for pastrami at the 2nd Avenue Deli in New York City.

The tour follows the lead of similar joint endeavors by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, Kevin Hart and Chris Rock and more pairings. The news comes as Seinfeld gears up for the release of his upcoming Netflix comedy Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story , which also stars Gaffigan, Melissa McCarthy, James Marsden and Hugh Grant. Gaffigan, meanwhile, has his tenth stand-up special coming out this year.

“I’m so excited to help out this unknown up and upcoming comedian who many may have never heard of,” joked Gaffigan of the four-date trek in a statement of his own. “I know it will be an amazing bunch of shows.”

(DETROIT – February 27, 2024) – Comedian Jim Gaffigan announced new dates for his “2024 Barely Alive Tour” to include a performance at the Fox Theatre on Friday, November 22 at 7 p.m. Comerica Bank is the exclusive presenting partner of the Fox Theatre.

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 1 at 10 a.m. at 313Presents.com and Ticketmaster.com . Presale tickets begin Wednesday, February 28 at 10 a.m. local, code ALIVE at JimGaffigan.com .
