Increasing Demand for 3-Month UAE Visit Visa: Eligibility, Cost, and More

The three-month visit visa was reintroduced by the end of May 2023, allowing visitors to stay in the UAE for up to 90 days.

Many visitors to the UAE are applying for the three-month visit visa, with agents saying they apply for up to 20 a day.

However, most still prefer the 30- or 60-day visa because of the price difference, with the 60-day visit visa available for Dh650, industry experts have said.

The three-month visa was discontinued during the pandemic and a 60-day visa was introduced to fill the gap. However, the three-month leisure visa was reintroduced by the end of May 2023, allowing visitors to stay in the UAE for up to 90 days.

“Currently, there are three types of single entry visas: 30, 60, and 90 days,”

said Firoz Maliyakkal, founder and CEO of Tahira Tours and Travel LLC.

Pavan Poojari, visa consultant at Luxury Travels , listed out the categories of visitors who apply for the longer-term visa:

"These are tourists who would want to spend an extended vacation in the UAE; parents and children of UAE residents; their extended family members; and visitors who would want to explore the country and then settle down for good."

Many families and travel experts believe exploring and living in the UAE for a month or two is just too short. The 90-day leisure visa, on the other hand, has come as a relief to many of those who desire to stay in the country for a longer period of time.

This has been the case with Matthew , who recently brought his parents and other family members to Dubai on a 3-month visit.

“My parents lived here for a long time, and the memories of Dubai keep bringing them back. The last time they came here was on a two-month visa, and they were disheartened. However, they are happy to reside here for the next two months,”

said Matthew .

Jessy , who is on a 3-month visit is delighted to spend extended time with her nephew. She had lately suffered the loss of a family member, which was really difficult for her.

“We got her here for a change,”

said her nephew.

Eligibility

According to experts, the three-month visas are of two categories,

“A resident sponsoring immediate family members and friends by keeping a deposit of Dh1,000,”

said Feroz adding that the minimum salary bracket of Dh6,000 to Dh8,000 is the requirement.

“For the second category is open to anyone through a travel agent who will be their sponsor. The requirement is just the passport copy and photos,”

said Firoz .

For the first category of visas, the cost of the visa is around Dh800 with a refundable deposit of Dh1,000 and can be applied on the official immigration websites.

“For the second category, people can apply through their travel agent at a cost ranging from Dh1,200 to Dh1,400,”

Experts say that the 90-day visa has come as a boon to people who find it very difficult to exit the country for a visa extension.

You can get other types of UAE visas, not only the 3 months Dubai visa, but also 30 days Dubai visa. Below is a list of the UAE visa's single and multiple entries and prices.

The multiple-entry visas for the United Arab Emirates are sometimes confusing. They begin counting from the day you enter the country and allow you to enter it several times within the next 30 or 90 days.

visit visa dubai price 2023

The 3 months Dubai visa allows one to Stay in UAE for around 90 days. After 90 days, you are given 10 days, a grace period, to figure out how to extend your stay. After the 10 days you have not legalized your stay in UAE, you will be fined for overstaying.

The overstay fee that applies to visitors who continue to stay in the UAE after the expiration of their visit visa is distinct from the overstay fine that applies to residents who remain in the country after their visa has expired.

The fines levied against persons who fall into this group are far higher than those set against residents. This type of visa holder also receives a grace period when they apply.

Nevertheless, this privilege is highly restricted, as it only lasts for ten days and only applies to posts made during this time; daily fees are imposed. During this period, the visiting visa can be renewed or converted into a resident visa if the applicant chooses. The following are the fines one can get for overstaying in UAE;

  • On the first day of overstay, AED 200
  • Each consecutive day AED100
  • Service fees are AED 100

The price for 3 months Dubai visit visa for UAE from India is around 15,000-16500 INR.

Dubai residents who want to host their friends or family in the country can now get a 3-month visit visa, according to residents and travel agencies. The host is required to pay a refundable deposit of Dh1,000 for this visa.

KV, who works as a PRO for a Dubai-based company, said that he has secured these visas for his company employees. “I have applied for this visa for family members of two of my colleagues in the last month,” he said. “I approached the AMER centre in Karama near the post office, and the process was easy. However, as per my experience, the family members must be immediate blood relatives like mother, father or siblings.”

According to him, the total cost of the service was Dh1,770. “The deposit was Dh1,000, and the visa with typing charges and service fee cost Dh770,” he said.

In October 2022, sweeping reforms were made to entry visas in the UAE as part of the Advanced Visa System. It introduced one of the largest residency and entry permit reforms in the UAE to date.

However, according to travel agencies in the country, they are unable to apply for these visas in their systems. “As of now, only individuals applying on the system can get these visas,” said Afi Ahmed from Smart Travels. “The individuals must apply for it online on the GDRFA website, on the app or through an Amer typing centre.”

On the GDRFA website, users can also apply for entry permits for business or job opportunities, entry permits for those awaiting their Green Visas, as well as a patient escort permit, among others.

Dubai resident Mohammed said he had applied for a visa for his mother to travel to the city. “Initially, I planned to apply for a 60-day visit visa through a travel agency,” he said. “But when I heard of the 90-day visa, I applied for it through an Amer centre. It was a very easy process.”

The ICA has adopted a list of 15 services that were updated in its smart services system as of February 1, 2023.
