Wedding Packages

You’ve done the hard part: the man or woman of your dreams is yours, and aren’t they lovely? Do we ever have a wedding spot to match — aboard a Carnival ship! A Carnival shipboard wedding is a great way to start your life together… a spot as unique as the two of you. After all, think of all the weddings you’ve been to — we’ve got the fun alternative, with a view that’s hard to find on land and a sea breeze you just can’t get at a country club. Your shipboard wedding will be held in the port of your choice, so choose a city you’ll remember forever as the one where you made it official. Leave wedding stress ashore, because for a simple fee Carnival takes care of it all: the ceremony includes not only an officiant to get the knot tied right, but little details like the cake, champagne, music and more. And perhaps best of all: once you’re married, you’re already on your honeymoon! Your shipboard wedding can be customized to fit your imagination and budget. Add packages that include everything from a simple open bar and hors d’oeuvres reception to an elegant sit-down luncheon in the ship’s formal restaurant. Whatever you’re looking for, let our professional wedding agents help you design your ideal wedding. Learn more about shipboard weddings.

Wedding Venues

Personal touches.

What matters most on your wedding day is that you’ll be spending it with the person of your dreams. But if you could custom-design your dream wedding, how would you make it truly your own? Let’s start with where — a Carnival destination wedding lets you choose a scenic island as the background for your memories. The blue skies, the sounds of nature and even the sea-scented breeze as you say “I do” will become some of the most vivid parts of the memories you make that day. It’s important to remember that a Carnival destination wedding makes planning easy, because we take care of nearly every detail. We’ll take the bride and groom to the wedding site, select a local officiant to perform the ceremony, and handle the music and bouquet. We’ll even help you obtain a legally-binding marriage certificate in your destination port! Since we’ve already thought of everything, all you need to think about is how great it’s going to be. Learn more about destination weddings.

Renewal of Vows

Do you ever catch yourself thinking you’d totally marry your special someone again? A Renewal of Vows ceremony aboard a Carnival cruise is a great way to tie the knot a little tighter.

Get ready to say “I still do!” as you celebrate the time you’ve spent together… and the years still to come. Make new memories as you affirm that your feelings remain every bit as strong as the day you first said those simple, powerful words.

It wouldn’t be a ceremony without friends and family on hand, so feel free to invite them along — it’s a party, after all! This time, let Carnival take care of the little details that made the first time great: wine, music, wedding cake and more are included, with options for open bar and even more guests.

The ship’s captain will actually officiate your ceremony, signing your certificate to seal the deal. Learn more about Renewal of Vows ceremonies.

Honeymoon Cruises

When you get married, you’ve got your new life ahead of you and the possibilities are simply endless. For what comes next, can we recommend starting with something fun, memorable and easy… like a honeymoon cruise!

After all the planning that went into the big day, you’ll be relieved to know how little planning it can actually take to book a cruise. Date, departure port and destination… get those down and you’re practically there! And once you’re finally aboard the ship we take care of almost everything, from comfy staterooms to fine dining and entertainment — not to mention stops at exotic locations. Nearly all the ways you’ll love to spend your vacation is included in your cruise fare.

Engagement Packages

So much can go into the decision of whether to pop the question to your partner… but deciding on where to do it should be pretty easy! Some people may have a personally-meaningful spot in mind, but we think everyone should think about getting engaged on a Carnival cruise.

After all, there are lots of good reasons to choose the cruise! For one thing… well, have you seen those amazing ocean views? Let the beauty of nature itself be the scenery of the memories you’ll surely carry with you for the rest of your life, or choose another private onboard location. (Yes, photo and video services are included — our pros will be capturing that moment!)

When you choose an engagement package from Carnival Weddings, our staff of planners get right to helping bring your ideas to life, or even suggest some of our own. And even after the planning stages are over and the big moment is upon us, you’ll love our attention to detail and execution, giving you the confidence to know things are going to go smoothly.

These folks celebrated their wedding on a Carnival cruise. If you did too, we’d love to see! Hashtag your photos #CarnivalCruiseWedding — you may see them right here.

You Can Get Married on a Cruise Ship — Here's How to Plan Your Nautical Wedding

Planning the ceremony and reception, guest accommodations and activities, tips for planning a cruise wedding.

If you and your future spouse love to set sail and explore new locales, getting married at sea may be the perfect option for your wedding — and it comes with plenty of built-in benefits and amenities. What’s more, explains T+L A-List travel advisor and Q Cruise + Travel president Rob Clabbers, “The advantage of a wedding on a ship is that a lot of amenities and facilities are available — albeit it an extra charge in some cases: beautiful spaces, photographers, musicians, DJs, flowers, wedding assistants, bars and restaurants, the option to arrange a separate meal/buffet for your guests, a salon and spa to get ready for a ceremony, and, of course, a ‘built-in’ honeymoon.” Whether you’re dreaming of an intimate elopement or a larger celebration, we tapped several experts to provide insight on everything you need to know about cruise weddings, including the costs, the logistics, accommodations and amenities, and more.

What to Know

kieferpix/Getty Images

Once you’ve officially decided to say “I do” at sea, there are several factors to keep in mind. “At a minimum,” says Farah Barhorst, a director at Holland America Line , “couples should know where, when, and how they want to get married, in addition to the number of guests they would like in attendance.” She notes that many cruise lines put limits on how many visitors can board the ship who aren't sailing its full itinerary, so knowing how many guests plan to join you for your wedding only is crucial. Of course, couples should also consider their desired wedding location as, per the pro, “guest capacity is also limited based on the destination or port.”

As Clabbers explains, you also need to consider the laws of both the country where you'll be located when you get married and the country that runs your ship. “Many cruise ships are registered in the Bahamas, Bermuda, or Malta,” Clabbers notes, meaning “the laws of [that] specific country would apply to any ceremonies performed on board once the ship is in international waters.” There may then be limits on where same-sex ceremonies can take place. “Since the Bahamas and Bermuda, for example, don’t recognize same-sex marriage, same-sex couples can’t get legally married at sea on ships registered in those countries. They could potentially get married while in port in the U.S.A. or certain places in Europe,” he says.

For these and other reasons, Keith Willard , a wedding planner specializing in destination weddings, stresses the importance of planning ahead. "The first thing that many overlook is the marriage certificate itself," he says. "The easiest thing to do is to get a marriage license within 60 days of your wedding and bring it with you.” Stacey Johnston , a travel advisor at Marvelous Mouse Travels, echoes these sentiments, explaining that “you will need to arrange for the marriage license ahead of your cruise from the port or the departure location depending on where you are getting married.”

To avoid mishaps with locations and licenses, some couples choose to have a wedding celebration on a cruise but get legally married elsewhere. On a Holland America Line ship, for instance, “The captain can perform a ‘symbolic’ ceremony that is not legally binding,” says Barhorst. If you want the wedding-at-sea experience with fewer logistical headaches, a compromise like this may be for you.

Nadtochiy/Getty Images

According to Clabbers, “Many cruise lines that offer weddings will provide a range of packages to choose from, with ceremonies from two to over 100 attendees that may include the services from the officiant, a celebration venue, recorded or live music, a cake, Champagne or other beverages for guests, a dinner for the wedding couple, and other extras.” To provide to-be-weds with a better idea of what to expect, we’ve compiled a few packages from several cruise lines.

Holland America Line

Holland America Line currently offers a handful of wedding packages , including the Symbolic at Sea Package, which, per Barhorst, includes a non-legal ceremony performed by the captain or an officer; coordination by both onboard and pre-cruise wedding coordinators; recorded ceremony music; a keepsake wedding certificate; basic photography service, including one 8” x 10” photo of choice and a commemorative wedding album; sparkling wine; a nine-inch wedding cake; and a bridal bouquet with a dozen roses and a matching groom’s boutonniere. The Anchors Away Package includes all of the above but with a legal ceremony (led by a non-denominational officiant), as well as priority check-in for the couple during embarkation. Lastly, couples craving a true destination wedding can book the Ashore Package, which “lets couples officially tie the knot on a beach, garden, or glacier location,” says Barhorst. “A seasonal bridal bouquet and boutonniere will be provided in addition to a pre-cruise and ashore wedding coordinator to ensure all runs smoothly.”

Princess Cruises

Princess Cruises offers three distinct packages to choose from via its Princess Perfect Weddings department. The Perfect Pair Package includes the couple and up to two guests, while the ceremony-only package, aptly named Timeless Ceremony at Sea, includes the couple and up to eight guests. Lastly, the Timeless Wedding at Sea package is the line's most elaborate. It comes with a ceremony and a reception for the couple and up to 18 guests, plus extras like salon services and specialty dining reservations for the bride and groom. All three Princess packages include fresh florals, photography, and an indoor or outdoor ceremony officiated by the ship’s captain.

Margaritaville at Sea

Margaritaville at Sea launched in April 2022 and offers warm-weather sailings from Palm Beach and Tampa. It has three aptly named wedding packages : Paradise, Elation, and Bliss. Paradise is the most extravagant, offering live music, full photography services, and an upgraded venue complete with panoramic views. Elation is the mid-range option, with a reception dinner, DJ services, and ceremony photography, and Bliss serves as the line’s basic package for intimate soirees. At all three levels, couples enjoy perks like a personal wedding coordinator, an officiant, a keepsake wedding certificate, a bridal bouquet and matching boutonniere, priority check-in, dinner at the onboard steakhouse, and a wedding cake.

Royal Caribbean

This mega-ship ocean line has four wedding packages , including the Vows at Sea Package, which allows couples to choose from an array of onboard venues and includes dinner for two at a specialty restaurant, a bottle of bubbly, special stateroom decor, and more. With the Embark on Romance Package, you can invite sailing and non-sailing guests to watch you tie the knot with a ceremony on embarkation day, which includes many of the aforementioned amenities plus priority check-in for the couple. The smallest at-sea package, Intimately Yours, includes a ceremony for the couple and up to 10 guests, while the Destinations I Do package is ideal for those who want a great on-land backdrop for their wedding. With Destinations I Do, couples get married either on board or on land while the ship is in port; transportation to and from the venue is included if you choose the on-land option.

Carnival Cruise Line

Another mega-ship ocean line, Carnival offers three wedding packages . The Signature Ceremony is the line's smallest but still offers plenty of perks: a ceremony for up to 10 guests (including the couple), pre-recorded ceremony music, a pre-cruise wedding planner, priority embarkation assistance, a local officiant, a keepsake wedding certificate, a cake, a sparkling wine toast, photography (plus a canvas print), shipboard decor, and a honeymoon dinner for the newlyweds. Service charges, which include gratuities, are also covered. Those looking to host an onboard reception following the ceremony can book the It’s a Celebration! package for a minimum of 20 guests, including the couple. Alternatively, say “I do” off the ship by booking the Love Ashore package, where couples can tie the knot in a dreamy beach or garden ceremony. For extra amenities, add on the Diamond Enhancement Package, which comes with perks like a mimosa-fueled breakfast, chocolate-covered strawberries delivered to the couple’s stateroom, a bottle of bubbly, a 30-minute couples massage, and more.

Disney Cruise Line

For a fairy-tale-worthy wedding at sea, Disney Cruise Line has you covered. Their standard cruise ceremony package includes up to 16 guests (excluding the couple), while food and drink services, florals, and entertainment can all be added on for an extra cost. Couples can also choose to get married off the ship at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. For more information, including specific venue options, visit the Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings and Honeymoons website .

As noted above, many cruise lines offer wedding coordinators to ensure everything runs smoothly so that you and your soon-to-be spouse can sit back, relax, and soak up the blissful, celebratory vibes. In terms of what to expect from the ceremony and what kind of venues are available, “There can be quite a variety,” says Clabbers. For example, “Some ships have a chapel or space dedicated to weddings and ceremonies; others use a lounge, restaurant, or private room.” Again, since this will all vary by the cruise line and/or the specific package you pick, your best bet is to do your research by combing through the wedding package offerings online or calling the company directly.

The same thing goes for receptions, explains Allison DePesa , a travel advisor with Marvelous Mouse Travels. For example, “You could opt for a dinner in a specialty restaurant or something more opulent in a main dining room, which would offer more space for guests and a DJ.” Willard also urges to-be-weds to remember that the time of their onboard reception will likely be “based on what the cruise line has available, which means the times may be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., or even 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.” He explains, “A traditional five-hour event with an hour ceremony on the cruise between the hours of 5 p.m. and midnight is almost never done for groups larger than 20 people.”

ParfonovaIuliia/Getty Images

Good news: Couples getting married on a cruise are privy to discounts and other perks. According to DePesa, “With as few as eight cabins, you qualify as a group with most cruise lines. You'll receive discounted rates, onboard credits, cocktail parties, etc., depending on the number of staterooms booked.” Barhorst notes that similar perks apply on Holland America, explaining that, if a couple books a group of eight staterooms for their wedding crew, they're “eligible to receive a stateroom category upgrade up to Suite level, completely complimentary.”

According to Johnston, when setting up your room block, it’s a good idea to offer several category options — she recommends reserving balcony, oceanview, and interior staterooms — “since your wedding guests may have a variety of budgetary ranges.” Also, says Willard, “Unlike a hotel room block, your cruise rate can fluctuate for your guests, so it is important to book early” since “the earlier you book, typically the better the price point.” Be sure to keep an eye on cut-off dates, though. Some cruise lines will deactivate contracted room-block rates and links a set time before the sailing (90 days, for instance), meaning guests booking after that point would be on their own to find a stateroom.

When it comes to onboard activities and programming, Willard says that “there are opportunities at every turn for shared group experiences.” For example, “Dining in the main dining hall can be for groups [of] up to 20 people per table," while groups of 30 or more may even be able to book whole private sections of the dining room. On the flip side, cruising is also great because everyone in the group — or, in this case, the wedding party — can do their own thing without being tied to a specific schedule. So, while some guests might prefer to lounge by the pool or relax in the spa, others may take advantage of other onboard amenities, like an escape room, laser tag, waterslides, and more, depending on the specific line and ship.

While standard wedding packages will vary depending on the cruise line and number of guests, Clabbers says they can “range from anywhere from $2,000 to $5,000 and up,” and most of the advisors we spoke to concurred.

That said, budget-conscious couples can find a few under-$2,000 options, including the aforementioned Signature Ceremony package on Carnival and the Symbolic at Sea package on Holland America Line, both of which clock in at $1,800. Also — at least on Holland America Line — “seasonal price surcharges of $100 to $200 should also be taken into account during peak nuptial times and holidays, including Christmas Day, Valentine's Day, and the beginning of summer,” says Barhorst. Similarly, while some purposely intimate packages include only a small number of guests, extra guests can sometimes be added at a per-person price. Be sure to inquire about fees, too, particularly for on-shore events.

When budgeting for your cruise wedding, remember that “the cost of legal documentations and permits is extra and needs to be planned far in advance — at least 90 days but ideally more,” explains Clabbers. Sue Allen, a travel consultant at Destination Weddings Travel Group & Celebration Travel , expressed similar sentiments and noted that “legal weddings have an additional fee” compared to symbolic (or non-legal) ones.

Per the pro, “Marriage license fees for in-destination weddings can range from $200 to $700,” while a shipboard maritime license fee is around $900. Allen also cautions couples to be wary of non-refundable deposits. While the initial cruise price may be lower, “if something comes up and you are not able to travel, you lose your deposit or pay a fee to change your travel dates.” With that being said, it’s always a good idea to purchase cruise insurance .

Lastly, DePesa urges couples to keep in mind that “the wedding does not include the fare for the actual cruise.” In fact, the cruise fare(s) can vary drastically depending on the time of year, length of itinerary, and line. If you’re not sailing on a truly all-inclusive line, you and your guests can expect to pay extra for features such as Wi-Fi, specialty dining, and alcoholic beverages. You’ll also, of course, need to factor in airfare if you’re flying to the embarkation/disembarkation port(s).

Book early and plan ahead.

To secure the best prices for your stateroom block, Johnston recommends planning as early as possible. Willard agrees, telling T+L that cost-conscious couples should create their block at least a year out at minimum. Plus, he says, "Most of the cruise lines will provide incentives, as well.”

Also, as part of the planning process, DePesa advises couples to “get an idea of your guest list, get a sense of who can travel with you, what budgets are like, and what time of year that works best” to ensure you’re selecting a sailing that suits both your and your loved ones’ needs, preferences, and desires.

Keep an open mind and trust your coordinator.

“When planning a wedding at sea, a good practice would be to keep an open mind,” explains Barhorst. This, of course, goes hand-in-hand with putting your trust in the cruise wedding planner. That way, she says, “the less stressful (and easier) it will be for [the couple] to enjoy their time together during the sailing.”

Familiarize yourself with the legalities.

As previously mentioned, the legalities and specifics of a cruise wedding vary greatly depending on where the ship is registered, the port(s) of call, and more. With that in mind, DePesa recommends couples take the time to do some digging and understand the legal requirements to determine “if a symbolic ceremony might just make things easier.”

Decide if a cruise wedding is really for you.

Before going full speed ahead and booking a cruise wedding, it’s crucial to weigh the pros and cons to determine if these types of nuptials are truly what you want. What’s more, says Willard, “A cruise wedding isn't about you specifically outside of the ceremony itself.” Rather, “It's about the shared experience, and your guests may decide that there is something more interesting [to do] on one of the other days.” He also cautions that cruise weddings can mean fewer guests RSVPing yes due to factors like time commitment, budget restraints, and so on.

If you do decide to move forward with a cruise wedding, Barhorst says that “managing the wedding parties’ expectations is also advised, as the structure of cruise weddings differs from the traditional ceremony,”

Planning a Carnival Cruise Line Wedding

Picture of Heather Baxter

Heather Baxter

  • January 19, 2018

It wasn’t until after I was already dating my now-husband in my early twenties that I learned you could get married on a cruise ship, and I grew up with a travel agent for a mom.

I loved the idea. I was not a bride who wanted to spend hours upon hours planning her wedding and pouring over details like the color of table napkins. The idea of spending my weekends dragging my fiance around to visit venues and taste cakes had no appeal to me. I just wanted to get married, and I did not want to spend a fortune doing it either. If there was anything I wanted, it was that I wanted my wedding to be fun .

carnival cruise line wedding

So, it was only fitting that we chose a Carnival Cruise Line wedding. To my surprise, there were several wedding packages to chooses from, including a wedding on the beach in an exotic port of call or an embarkation day shipboard wedding. We chose the latter so that friends and family who couldn’t join us on the cruise would be able to attend. This was best for us too since both my husband and I grew up in the Houston area about an hour from Galveston.

Despite the ability to get on and get off, 27 wedding guests booked with us and sailed along on a 7-night cruise on Carnival Freedom to Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. We were shocked and elated over how many people joined us. And for anyone thinking “why would you want all those people on your honeymoon?”, we thought of it more as a 7-day-long wedding celebration than a honeymoon.

carnival cruise line wedding

While you can have an unlimited amount of sailing guests at your wedding, Carnival allows up 50 non-sailing guests to board the ship for the day to attend the wedding and then disembark before the ship leaves port. So, in total we had close to 80 guests at our wedding. This option was important to us, because we had a lot of extended family who traveled from different states to attend the wedding but couldn’t stay on for the cruise.

One of the best parts of the planning process was that, as I like to joke now, “all I had to do was show up and look pretty.” You can plan as much or as little as you like. For example, for music you can choose to have a DJ who will play your choice of genres, or you can bring your own music and Carnival will provide an emcee. You can choose to bring along your own minister, or Carnival will provide one for you. Also, Carnival provides some of the flowers, like the bridal bouquet and groom’s boutonniere, but you can choose to purchase extras to enhance your wedding. They even have vows to use if you’d like, or you can write your own. They truly let you customize your special day as much as you’d like, and they’re always happy to accommodate.

For the most part, though, Carnival took care of everything. They provided the three day-of wedding planners who told our guests where to go, they baked our four-tier customized wedding cake to our request (four layers with four different flavors!), and they handled the open bar, champagne toast, and customized hors d’oeuvres as well. Our photographer, who also doubled as our videographer, was even included in our wedding package. (Purchasing the pictures and video was separate.)

carnival cruise line wedding

The best part? All of this – yes, all of it – was included in our wedding package. There were no “extras” besides the option for tuxedo rentals through Carnival (we passed on this) or the option to enhance the floral package, but even still Carnival already provided the basic flowers. If you choose a port day wedding, there are options like hair and makeup services to add on as well. But otherwise, everything – venues, photographer/videographer, minister, open bar, food, wait staff, emcee and music, wedding planners – was included in our wedding package. All in all, the wedding itself was less than $2,250. (This price does not include the cost of our stateroom, because of course we were cruising too!) In fact, the pictures and video package purchased after the wedding cost even more than the wedding – but it was still less expensive than anything comparable I’d found on land. And still more money was spent on other things, like my wedding dress, hair/makeup, invitations, bachelorette party, etc., than on the wedding itself.

But regardless of the all the perks like the ease of planning, low cost, and the incredibly unique venue, what made me happiest about booking a cruise wedding with Carnival is that they made sure my wedding was fun , which is exactly what I wanted it to be.

Carnival Cruise Wedding

CruiseMapper logo

This is CruiseMapper's "Carnival Cruise Wedding" dedicated page. Here we provide you with up-to-date information on cruise ship Wedding packages, Honeymoon packages, and Vow Renewal packages, (cost and inclusions), the cruise line's Wedding-Honeymoon registry, as well as tips and advice.

Know that all these prices are additional to cruise fares. At sea weddings cost depends mostly on the package choice (inclusions) and the cruise port of call (part of the ship's scheduled itinerary).

Carnival Cruise Wedding - CruiseMapper

Carnival Cruise Lines Wedding vacations and excursions feature affordable prices, romantic port and island destinations, popular itineraries (as both ports of call and shore excursions choices), a huge fleet with different classes of ships, numerous home-ports (departure choices) and exotic destinations.

Carnival Cruise Weddings

Carnival Cruise Line has the biggest number of departure ports (homeports). Each of the "Fun Ships" offers large staterooms, unique onboard facilities, some of the industry's best cabin amenities, and highly trained specialists most qualified for your special occasion. All you have to do is to say the "I do" - and spend the wedding budget on a cruise ship vacation!

Carnival Cruise Wedding - CruiseMapper

While most couples prefer to say "I Do" on the ship, a sunset on an idyllic beach or in some of the Caribbean's lavish gardens are "special romance" choices is not to be missed - at all!

First tip for your Carnival cruise ship wedding - leave all the planning fuss to the ship's wedding/honeymoon specialist. You'll have to choose only your favorite of all the countless ideas for your most special every day at sea. Or you may set out all your preferences or concerns - there will be plenty of professional answers to all your questions, and numerous options for the type of ceremony itself - from simple to extravagant, traditional to exotic and adventurous, with the most unique requests.

Carnival cruise ship weddings as deals may provide lavish style and sophistication, as well as quiet and intimate choices - it's all about the money. The only rules to comply with are, one, that the ship must be docked at a US port or at permissible ports in the Caribbean (Puerto Rico, Barbados, Jamaica, Cozumel, Nassau, St Thomas), and two, cruise weddings must take place only in designated for this purpose areas. All Carnival Spirit-class ships have their own onboard wedding chapel (also used for religious services, see their names in the list below). On other ships, ceremonies usually take place in a lounge. Vows may also be exchanged on deck, but only if the ship is docked. As a rule, the captain is not allowed to perform a wedding ceremony, unless the ship is docked in Bermuda.

Carnival Cruise Wedding Policy and Rules

According to the Carnival Lines Wedding policy, you are allowed to invite family members and friends who are not passengers. They could join you on the ship while it's docked. Who and how can attend the ceremony? The type of Wedding Package purchased through Carnival determines the number of guests allowed to attend at the ceremony/reception. Sailing guests (paying passengers) will be allowed to participate as well.

Due to security reasons, there are some restrictions imposed on non-sailing guests - those are permitted to board the ship, but you'll have to compile a list of your special guests - their legal names, birthdays, state-issued IDs. Also, your guests will have to show proper identification upon boarding your ship. In some foreign ports, you may not be allowed to bring on board non-sailing guests at all. You should contact the relevant government officials or the ship's wedding coordinator for marriage license requirements/fees.

Not allowed on cruise weddings, restrictions

  • Not allowed are: bubbles, rice, birdseed, flower petals, confetti, balloons and candles, personal servers, knives, flowers, food, also outside photographers, entertainment, equipment.
  • Couples with their own minister - limited to a 20 min ceremony.
  • Couples with their own music - limited to 3 songs.
  • Guests' number limit is max 50 non-cruising guests per wedding.

Carnival cruise marriage license

You are responsible for obtaining a marriage license (which is for a fee) from your cruise wedding destination. You also have to know some stuff regarding the wedding regulations of that country. Some destinations require that you apply for the wedding license in person, others allow submitting an application via mail. The cost of marriage licenses varies by state - from $25 in Alaska to $150 (Florida). Often, your Carnival wedding coordinator can assist you in obtaining your license (for a fee, of course) or at least can provide you with all the information needed to apply for one.

Carnival Cruise Wedding-Honeymoon Registry

  • Step 1 - register your Wedding/Honeymoon plans! Signup for free at carnival.honeymoonwishes.com, select the destination, register for activities, tours and excursions, cabin upgrades, etc.
  • Step 2 - reveal your plan to friends and family! Use the CCL's social media tools (Facebook), send announcement cards or use the CCL's email utility to inform friends/family where's your registry.
  • Step 3 - receive gifts! Your friends and family members will visit your registry to purchase from all gifts you've selected there. They will be able to fill in a "gift card" to let you know what gift they've purchased for you.
  • Step 4 - enjoy it!

Carnival Cruise Wedding Packages

The list of Carnival Wedding cruise ships with chapels (offering Shipboard Weddings) includes Breeze, Conquest, Legend, Miracle, Pride and Spirit. The ship's chapels are used for both secular and religious purposes. All Carnival ships host both onboard weddings and ashore (in port) ceremonies.

Now you’re engaged… congratulations! You’ve found that one perfect person and it’s time to plan the perfect day. If you’re looking for a wedding as unique as the two of you, we’d like to suggest making a Carnival ship the place you’ll become one. You have stunning locations to choose for your ceremony and you will also enjoy an amazing honeymoon. A Carnival wedding includes everything you need, and our staff is always available to help with your details. We’re ready to serve you and ready to make sure this unforgettable day with loved ones turns out even better than you could have ever imagined.

Frequently Asked Wedding Questions

How can I book a wedding? Just contact us . Once we’ve confirmed that space is available on your date and you’ve booked your cruise, our personal wedding planners can help you find your perfect wedding package. Due to limited space, all wedding reservations are allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Can I pay for my wedding over time? Payment is due at the time of booking and a portion of all wedding packages is a non-refundable deposit to secure your special day. Carnival Weddings can be booked by phone with a credit card. Financing may be available and based on approval. Sorry, no personal checks or guest gift cards accepted.

Do I need to cruise to have a Carnival Wedding? Yes, the wedding couple is required to sail. Fortunately, getting married on Carnival is the perfect way to start a honeymoon! We do welcome both sailing and non-sailing guests in most ports. In ports requiring water shuttles to get to and from the ship, non-sailing guests are not permitted to board the shuttles or ship.

At what time do my wedding guests and I need to be at the port? Priority boarding is provided for couples being married the day of embarkation once the ship is cleared by U.S. Customs. Arrival time for wedding guests is usually 10:00am for most ports. These times are provided with embarkation instructions through our Wedding Department based on the embarkation port. You must be at the pier at the time indicated by your Wedding Planner for priority boarding. Please be prompt. Couples getting married later in the cruise will follow general boarding procedures.

How long will my wedding ceremony last? The ceremony is approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

What is included in the ship’s onboard wedding ceremony set-up? Onboard weddings include an aisle runner and two decorative pillars with white silk floral arrangements. We also have additional decorations, like silk rose petals that we are happy to provide with specific wedding package enhancements.

What time does the wedding start? In most ports, weddings start at approximately 12:30pm.

What is the deadline to book a wedding? You must book your wedding no later than 60 business days prior to sailing. But don’t wait that long — all our services are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and often sell-out.

Is the cruise price included in the wedding package? No. The cost of the wedding package and related services does not include cruise fare. Your cruise must be purchased separately. It is important to confirm availability for your desired wedding date, prior to purchasing the cruise.

How do you determine which room my wedding will be in? Wedding lounges are assigned based on the number of guests attending the wedding, plus which reception option you’ve selected.

Will my ceremony be performed by the ship’s captain? All wedding ceremonies are performed by a local officiant, except in the case of the symbolic at sea weddings, where the captain or another senior officer will preside. Some ports allow symbolic ceremonies only, while the laws in other ports prevent us from being able to offer legal or symbolic ceremonies.

Do I need to have a reception with my wedding ceremony? How you celebrate your big day is up to you, and we know you want to make it memorable for your guests. We can accommodate almost any budget with options for hors d’oeuvres and beverages. If you select a package without a reception, a short cake cutting and champagne toast will be held to end your ceremony.

Which time of the year is the least expensive to have a wedding? Wedding prices don’t change seasonally but are subject to change at any point based on capacity and demand. Some vendor holiday fees may apply.

Can I get married while at sea? Yes! We now offer the option of Wedding At Sea. These are symbolic ceremonies — they’re not legally binding. Offer available on select ships and dates. Contact us to inquire about availability. The symbolic ceremony is performed by an assigned shipboard officer or member of management. Couples are required to provide a proof of legal marriage prior to sailing.

Do you perform same sex marriages? Absolutely! Note, however, that certain ports we sail to do not recognize the legality of same-sex wedding ceremonies. In those ports we can only provide symbolic ceremonies for same-sex couples. The laws at some ports prevent us from being able to offer a symbolic or a legal service. Please contact us for more information on which ports have restrictions.

What is the difference between the types of Carnival weddings? An Embarkation Wedding takes place on the ship before your cruise begins, so you can celebrate with family and friends who are not sailing with you.

A Wedding At Sea requires that all guests sail with you since it takes place on the ship, at sea.

An Onboard Destination Wedding is offered aboard the ship while it’s docked in a particular port.

Destination Venue Weddings happen off the ship, either on a beach or a similarly beautiful location.

Understanding Autism-Friendly Cruises

The importance of special needs accommodations.

When planning a cruise vacation for a loved one with autism, having special needs accommodations is crucial to ensure a comfortable and stress-free experience. These accommodations go beyond physical spaces and extend to trained staff who understand the unique requirements of individuals on the autism spectrum. It’s essential to choose a cruise line that prioritizes inclusivity and provides the necessary support to make the journey enjoyable for everyone.

What Makes a Cruise Line Autism-Friendly?

An autism-friendly cruise line focuses on creating an environment that caters to the needs of individuals with autism. This includes offering sensory-friendly spaces that are designed to minimize sensory overload, such as quiet rooms or low-lit areas. Additionally, trained staff members are equipped to handle situations that may arise, ensuring a safe and supportive atmosphere for individuals with autism. By choosing a cruise line that is autism-friendly, you can embark on a vacation that is not only relaxing but also tailored to meet the specific needs of your family member with autism.

Autism awareness programs further educate the crew on how to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for guests with autism.
