Is Black Myth: Wukong On Xbox Game Pass?

Diablo 4: how to get shard of verathiel, today's connections hints & answers for august 19, 2024 (puzzle #434).

EA Sports PGA Tour is focused on getting the most detail-oriented, technologically possible approach for a realistic golf video game. Developer EA Orlando & EA Madrid and publisher Electronic Arts acquired exclusive licensing to include the top golf tournaments. The Masters Tournament, the PGA Championship, the U.S. Open Championship, and The Open are all represented, along with the Augusta National Women's Amateur, the FedExCup, and many more.

In a Screen Rant PGA Tour interview , developers talked about what went into the course design process to make EA Sports PGA Tour as realistic as possible with the 30 courses currently available. The game is designed to feel incredibly immersive from the ground up and is genuinely photo-realistic on machines that are capable of handling the highest graphic settings.

Related: Every Course In EA Sports PGA Tour

EA Sports PGA Tour is stunning, and on the highest graphics settings, even the crowds along the sides of each course can feel realistic. The physics are crafted to take into account the slightest changes in the environment, swing controls, and more with a mind-blowing amount of things to tweak to get each shot just right. Unfortunately, this also creates a very steep learning curve for any casual players of the game, without a lot of leeways given when an amateur is truly an amateur.

Just as in a real-life golf career, as a player improves their golf game, they get to progress through different championships and events. EA Sports PGA Tour offers different ways to work on practicing, whether through trying to play through the Korn Tour, attempting to beat Challenges that the game sets up for players, grabbing a friend for some of the many multiplayer modes, or simply working on beating a player's own score in Stroke play.

The sports announcers in EA Sports PGA Tour are highly entertaining. Though it can be discouraging to hear the announcers making comments when things are going poorly during a round, the voice-over work is very smooth and features a large enough library of commentary that repeated statements are uncommon. This can help bring a person into the game and adds a lot to the immersion.

The Challenges mode within EA Sports PGA Tour offers several unique snapshots from games where a player is placed in a certain situation, often with a backstory of a real-life occurrence that event came from, and then are given three criteria they must accomplish to complete the Challenge.

Physics and environmental data were all closely analyzed in creating EA Sports PGA Tour , even to ensure that the ball behaves with next-gen responsiveness. When a shot is made, whether a long drive or a short putt, the ball will spin, bounce, dribble, and roll just as it would in real life on that course. Golf swing mechanics are applied based on the players' own movements with the controller, and according to developers, the use of EA Sports Pure Strike technology with PGA Tour ShotLink and TrackMan data gives a highly accurate result of what would have happened on a real golf course.

Considering how much of the player character is seen throughout the game, both in cut scenes and in lining up every shot, EA Sports PGA Tour should have made more options for character design. The women's hair in particular is poorly created considering the impressive technology used everywhere else. Currently, there seem to also be some bugs in registering swing mechanics with a controller joystick, which can be game-breaking with the amount of precision necessary for EA Sports PGA Tour . While hopefully that will be corrected with updates, at the time of this review, it made an already challenging game nearly impossible.

EA Sports PGA Tour is an absolutely beautiful and immersive golf game with a very realistic feel. The game can be quite demanding on even some of the better systems, so PC users should be forewarned to check the requirements and be ready to turn down graphic settings. It is a challenging game, but still a lot of fun and is a great foundation for players to become better with the ability to see true growth happening as they continue to practice, as long as the player has enough patience to get there.

EA Sports PGA Tour Review - Hit The Links

  • First Released Apr 4, 2023 released

EA returns to the world of golf with a challenging and rewarding title that's let down by a couple of inconsistencies and an underwhelming swing mechanic.

By Richard Wakeling on April 12, 2023 at 10:55AM PDT

EA Sports PGA Tour is unlike any other golf game I've played. It still features familiar elements from the series' past--back when Tiger Woods was front and center--such as slow-motion heartbeat moments and climactic power shots. But after an eight-year hiatus from the world of golf simulation, EA has returned to the fairway with a more demanding recreation of the sport that's as much about feel as it is mastering the game's robust mechanics. With 30 courses covering all four majors--including The Masters at Augusta National--EA Sports PGA Tour has a plethora of golfing action to sink your teeth into. It's just a shame there are a few notable issues in critical areas that hold it back from greatness.

The first of these is the game's swing mechanic. If you've played a golf game before, the actual act of swinging a driver or 5-iron will be familiar. You pull down on the analog stick to bring the club back, then push forward again to unleash your shot. This has been a staple in golf games for a number of years now, and there aren't any alternatives at the moment--not until a three-click system is implemented in a later update. The issue with EA Sports PGA Tour is that there's a slight delay between your input and the on-screen visual. Your swing isn't 1:1, so there's an uneasy disconnect where you never quite feel like you're in total control. The general malaise of each swing doesn't help matters either, with the slow, clunky pacing and frustrating lag making it difficult to nail the timing and power of each shot. I eventually grew accustomed to these idiosyncrasies over time, but it never feels quite right and fails to capture the satisfaction that hitting a 300-yard tee shot should achieve.

To compound the issue, EA Sports PGA Tour also lacks any sort of meaningful tutorial. There are tooltips that pop up and cover the basics the first time you play, but these brief snippets barely scratch the surface of everything going on under the hood. Instead, the game has a suite of challenges that happen to include a Coaching Academy. This is the best place to start, even if these challenges still neglect to offer any tips or feedback to help you along the way. What you get is a variety of contextual situations covering different aspects of the sport, from putting downhill to dealing with elevation changes and the multitude of shot types on offer. There's a lot of trial and error involved, but the repetition of replaying each situation does give you a greater understanding of how everything works. It's not a very user-friendly approach, but it sets expectations and is genuinely helpful in an unconventional way, even if it might prove frustrating for some. Plus, completing these challenges also earns you XP that can be used to improve your created character.

EA Sports PGA Tour

EA Sports PGA Tour's career mode sits front and center, starting off with your no-name golfer competing in the qualifying school before moving on to the amateur Korn Ferry Tour. The ultimate goal is to reach the PGA Tour, which can be done either by winning one of the many four-round courses or by placing highly enough in the Korn Ferry rankings come season's end. You can expedite this process by opting for a quick play mode where you only need to play a few holes rather than an entire round, but I think playing full rounds is the way to go. That's mostly because it gives you ample time to fine-tune your skills, learn the courses, and gain a better understanding of the game's mechanics. There's also a palpable sense of progression that comes from leveling up your golfer. Earning XP lets you build your skills in driving, approach play, short game, and putting, while progressing each attribute also unlocks more shot types, giving you additional options when preparing to send the ball careening toward the green.

Fortunately, the Coaching Academy includes challenges for each of the game's myriad shot types, giving you the opportunity to see how each one functions before playing competitively. There's value in understanding the differences between a runner, spinner, or knock-down shot, but knowing when to utilize each one essentially comes down to a matter of feel. In this respect, EA Sports PGA Tour resembles the sport of golf more accurately than any other game. There are a number of variables at play for every single shot, to the point where there's a real thought process behind each swing. You have to choose the right shot type and club for each situation, adjust for wind and elevation, judge how much power you need to put into the swing, and account for the distinct ways each course plays--tweaking your shot shape depending on the shape of the fairway and lie of the bunkers. The game helps to some degree by displaying relevant information such as wind speed and distance, but then you're left to your own devices. This can be frustrating, particularly early on when you're still learning the ropes and your golfer's attributes aren't up to snuff, but once everything clicks, EA Sports PGA Tour plays an engrossing game of golf that can be incredibly rewarding.

Much of this is down to the courses themselves. Every single one of the 30 officially licensed courses is staggeringly beautiful and offers an authentic attention to detail, whether it's Liberty National and its view of the Manhattan skyline, the waves crashing against the sand at Pebble Beach, or the alligators lurking in the water at TPC Sawgrass. Almost every course is iconic on some level, and they've all been faithfully rendered and recreated, right down to individual blades of grass. The absence of a course designer is a tad disappointing, but unlike PGA Tour 2K23, it's not something that feels like a necessity because there are already so many 18-hole delights. The courses are the game's main character, providing the kind of variety and depth to stave off any tedium. Mastering a golf game's mechanics is usually the key to success, but EA Sports PGA Tour's courses demand much more from you. Each one plays differently, whether it's the roll of the green or the width of the fairway impacting your decision-making. It genuinely feels like you're playing against the course rather than the shot meter.

EA Sports PGA Tour

The physics model, which is built around the official TrackMan data for ball tracking and swing analysis, is excellent for the most part. However, there are some inconsistencies when it comes to ball rollout. On The Old Course at St Andrews, for instance, the rollout is overly extreme to the point where the ball will roll uphill at pace, even through heavy rough. This forces you to account for situations that shouldn't really occur. Once you land on the green, putting is also equally aggravating for different reasons. Each green contains a grid that uses moving beads to show you the direction of the break. The problem is that sometimes this data is inaccurate and the break is opposite to what the beads are showing. The putt reader alleviates this somewhat by showing the ideal path to the hole, but this is also misleading at times. With no reliable way to gauge the breaks, putting is a lesson in irritation that will only be rectified if these issues are fixed in future updates.

Outside of career mode, EA Sports PGA Tour also features various tournament options for use in online matches against the community. If you want to play against friends, however, stroke play is the only option, and there's a disappointing lack of alternating play for those who want to see each other tee off. A range of daily, weekly, and seasonal tournaments give you another chance to earn XP and items like club specs and in-game cash for a limited time before they're refreshed, so there's an incentive to keep coming back. That in-game cash can be spent in a store of rotating items including various cosmetics, which holds some appeal because the character creator is extremely barebones. Outfitting your golfer in branded clothing can be fairly costly, though, which is explained by the inclusion of microtransactions for those who would rather buy the in-game currency with real money. This isn't a surprising move, but it doesn't exactly vibe with the serene mood.

After almost a decade away from the sport, EA's return to the golf course is a promising one. The range of shot types, courses, and tangible variables make for a methodical and tactical game of golf that's both challenging and rewarding. It stumbles by barely introducing players to its robust mechanics, while a laggy swing and inconsistent putting are notable flaws on what is otherwise a fantastic golf sim. EA Sports PGA Tour represents a solid re-entry for the series and lays down a sturdy foundation for an auspicious future.

  • Leave Blank
  • Each shot must be carefully considered, taking into account a number of variables
  • All 30 courses are wonderfully recreated and each one feels distinct
  • Offers a tough but satisfying simulation of golf that's close to the real thing
  • The lack of tutorials makes for a rocky start
  • Swing mechanics are delayed and create a disconnect
  • Putting information is frequently misleading

EA Sports PGA Tour Controls Guide: PS5, Xbox X|S, PC, Swing Technique & more

Master the basics then become the best around

ea sports pga tour controls guide riviera

Published: Apr 04, 2023, 3:19 pm Updated: Apr 04, 2023, 3:19 pm

It's finally time to take to the tees and get on EA Sports PGA Tour, but not before you know the controls!

There will be plenty to get used to regarding the gameplay of the new title, so it is important to get accustomed to the basics of the game so you can progress to become one of the best around.

Table of Contents

Ea sports pga tour control guide, swing technique, gameplay settings.

Check out the controls guide for EA Sports PGA Tour on PS5, Xbox X|S, and PC below.

There are two main areas of gameplay to understand the controls for in EA Sports PGA Tour, Pre-Address and Address, with each as follows:

Pre-Address

Before you take your swing in EA Sports PGA Tour, you must first set up your shot. Position your aim, selecting from a variety of clubs and shot types , and add shape to your shot to manoeuvre around the course and change the spin of your ball.

pre-address controls xbox pc ea sports pga tour

Once you've lined up your shot, it's time to take a swing at it!

You can keep making adjustments to your aim and shot shape when addressing the ball, take a practice swing, or go back to pre-address if you need to make bigger changes.

address controls ps5 ea sports pga tour

Just because you've lined up the perfect shot with the right club and shot selection, it doesn't mean your ball will go exactly where you planned.

This is because there is still the all-important swing to get right, which could make or break your game plan.

When playing a straight shot without any draw or fade, you will want to move the stick in a straight line down to up (to 6 o'clock then up to 12 on a clockface).

If you add draw or fade to your shot, the direction you move the stick in will mimic the shape, either going from bottom left (around 8 o'clock) up to centre (12 o'clock) or bottom right (around 4 o'clock) up to centre.

The closer your swing matches the line present in the on-screen display ball, the better your shot.

swing meter feedback ea sports pga tour

Timing is also vital, with every shot in EA Sports PGA Tour based on three components: backswing length, forward swing speed, and swing plane (the path of your swing - which we have just covered).

Backswing length can produce an over-swing, under-swing, or perfect swing. Fast or slow swing speed can also occur. Both backswing length and swing speed impact the power of your shot.

There will be a marker on your golfer's swing meter which is where you should be aiming to change from your backswing (pulling back on the stick) to a forward swing (pushing the stick forward).

You will receive feedback on all the shots you play, allowing you to adjust your style until your tempo is perfect!

PGA Tour schedule 2025: Minimal changes to slate around Masters, PGA Championship, U.S. Open, The Open

The quail hollow event is moving, but other than that this schedule looks familiar.

PGA TOUR Q-School presented by Korn Ferry - Previews

The PGA Tour's 2025 schedule has dropped, and it looks fairly similar to the layout from a year ago. Following sweeping changes over the last few years that included the introduction of signature events and increased purses, next season's biggest adjustments mostly include new sponsors for some of the more notable events.

The same eight tournaments that were signature events in 2024 will retain that label again in 2025. The Farmers Insurance Open will continue to end on Saturday to avoid NFL conference championship weekend. The FedEx Cup Playoff will proceed as usual, too.

There have been some tweaks, though. Let's take a look at those changes for 2025.

  • The season technically starts in December 2024 as the first two days of The Sentry week are Dec. 30-31.
  • Truist replaces Wells Fargo as a sponsor, and that May tournament -- regularly held at Quail Hollow -- moves to Philadelphia Cricket Club for 2025. This is being done to accommodate the PGA Championship, which will be played at Quail Hollow that month.
  • The Memorial and Canadian Open switch spots. The Canadian Open is the week before the U.S. Open.
  • The BMW Championship, which always changes courses, goes back to Caves Valley in Maryland.
  • The season will end a week earlier because there is no Olympic competition in 2025.

PGA TOUR releases 2025 FedExCup Season schedule

Second year of reimagined schedule to deliver heightened drama and consequence for fans, with eight signature events complementing the players championship, four majors and the fedexcup playoffs.

Change Text Size

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The PGA TOUR on Wednesday announced the 2025 FedExCup Regular Season and FedExCup Playoffs schedule, a 39-event slate that marks Year 2 of the TOUR’s new competitive model. A combination of Full-Field and Signature Events offers heightened drama and consequence for fans — plus life-changing moments for the game’s biggest and newest stars — each week across the FedExCup Season.

The 36-event FedExCup Regular Season schedule features the 51 st playing of THE PLAYERS Championship in March, the four major championships, eight Signature Events, 18 Full-Field Events and five Additional Events. The three-event FedExCup Playoffs follow during the month of August, with the FedExCup Champion crowned once again at the TOUR Championship. The 2025 FedExCup Fall, which will finalize eligibility for the 2026 season, will be announced at a later date.

Continuing on past success, the TOUR schedule will be fully sponsored — which includes the recently announced partnership with Truist — a seven-year agreement with the PGA TOUR’s Charlotte-based event, now known as the Truist Championship.

“The new schedule and competitive changes introduced in 2024 were significant steps toward creating the best version of the PGA TOUR for our fans and players,” said PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan. “Fields were significantly stronger across the board, while the Signature Events provided fans more opportunities to see the PGA TOUR’s best competing head-to-head. As we enter the second year of this reimagined schedule, one thing remains a constant — winning on the PGA TOUR continues to rank among the most difficult and rewarding accomplishments in sport. We are grateful to the entire membership, especially our Player Directors and Player Advisory Council, as well as our tournaments and partners.”

The 2025 FedExCup Regular Season and Playoffs include events contested in the United States across 18 states as well as Mexico, Canada, Northern Ireland, Scotland, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

The PGA TOUR season will be televised domestically on NBC/Golf Channel/Peacock, CBS/Paramount+ and PGA TOUR LIVE on ESPN+, with SiriusXM handling live radio coverage. Internationally, PGA TOUR coverage is available in more than 200 countries and territories in 30 languages.

Signature Events

Contested at a number of the world’s most historic and recognizable courses, Signature Events complement THE PLAYERS Championship, the four majors and the FedExCup Playoffs. These events feature limited fields comprised of the world’s best competing head-to-head on a regular cadence throughout the season.

The eight Signature Events, which offer increased FedExCup points (700 points to the winner), are as follows:

  • The Sentry (Dec. 30-Jan. 5)
  • AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (Jan. 27-Feb. 2)
  • The Genesis Invitational (Feb. 10-16)
  • Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard (March 3-9)
  • RBC Heritage (April 14-20)
  • Truist Championship (May 5-11)
  • the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday (May 26-June 1)
  • Travelers Championship (June 16-22)

Following The Sentry, eligibility for the remaining seven Signature Events (field sizes with a minimum of 72 players) includes the top 50 players from the 2024 FedExCup standings. Additional eligibility pathways are available throughout the season, connecting the entire PGA TOUR schedule from start to finish. These pathways include:

  • Fifteen members who can play their way in through the Aon Next 10 and Aon Swing 5;
  • Current season tournament winners (excluding Additional Events);
  • PGA TOUR members inside the top 30 in the Official World Golf Ranking;
  • Four sponsor exemptions earmarked for PGA TOUR members;
  • The three player-hosted events each have one tournament host exemption, not restricted to PGA TOUR members.

The Aon Next 10 represents the top 10 players, not already exempt, from the FedExCup standings, while the Aon Swing 5 includes the top five FedExCup points earners, not already exempt, from a collection of Full-Field Events leading up to each Signature Event. In 2024, 48 different PGA TOUR players who did not finish in the top 50 of the previous year’s FedExCup Playoffs and Eligibility Points List made at least one Signature Event start via the Aon Next 10 or Aon Swing 5.

2025 FedExCup Regular Season Highlights

January-February

  • The 2025 FedExCup Regular Season begins in Hawaii with the “Opening Drive” at The Sentry (Dec. 30-Jan. 5) at the Plantation Course at Kapalua in Maui and the Sony Open in Hawaii (Jan. 6-12) at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu. With the start of the season, all players reset to zero FedExCup points as they begin their journey toward the FedExCup Playoffs. The Sentry, the season’s first Signature Event, includes PGA TOUR winners from the previous calendar year as well as the top 50 members from the 2024 FedExCup standings.
  • Following the two Hawaii events, The American Express (Jan. 13-19), played across three courses in La Quinta, California, returns after a historic finish in 2024 where Nick Dunlap became the first amateur to win on the PGA TOUR since 1991. Dunlap went on to win the Barracuda Championship, becoming the first player in TOUR history to win as an amateur and a professional in the same season.
  • The Farmers Insurance Open (Jan. 20-25), played at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California, will feature a Saturday primetime finish on CBS/Paramount+ for the fourth consecutive season. The sixth APGA Tour Farmers Insurance Invitational will be played Jan. 25-26 at Torrey Pines, with final-round coverage on GOLF Channel.
  • The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (Jan. 27-Feb. 2), to be played at Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course in Pebble Beach, California, is the second Signature Event of 2025 and features amateurs competing alongside professionals (80 players) over the first two rounds, with the competition limited to professionals only for the final two rounds at Pebble Beach. AT&T is the TOUR’s longest continuous title sponsor dating, back to 1986.
  • The WM Phoenix Open (Feb. 3-9) in Scottsdale, Arizona, will once again be contested the same week as Super Bowl LIX (played in New Orleans). In 2024, Nick Taylor captured the trophy at TPC Scottsdale a year after finishing runner-up to Scottie Scheffler.
  • The first of three player-hosted Signature Events, 82-time PGA TOUR winner Tiger Woods will host The Genesis Invitational (Feb. 10-16) at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. The three player-hosted Signature Events will once again have a 36-hole cut to the top 50 and ties and any player within 10 shots of the lead, as well as a special exemption in addition to the four sponsor exemptions reserved for TOUR members.
  • Mexico’s national open, the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld (Feb. 17-23), became an official PGA TOUR event in 2022. In 2024, rookie Jake Knapp earned his maiden PGA TOUR title at VidantaWorld in Vallarta, Mexico.
  • Rounding out the month of February will be the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches (February 24-March 2), kicking off the traditional Florida swing at The Champion Course at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

March-April

  • Staying in Florida, the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard (March 3-9) — backed by more than 20 years of support from Mastercard — will be contested at Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando. The tournament’s namesake — the late Arnold Palmer — was one of the founding members of the PGA TOUR in 1968 and is considered golf’s greatest ambassador. The Puerto Rico Open will be played concurrently at Grand Reserve Golf Club in Puerto Rico.
  • With support from Proud Partners Comcast Business, Optum and Morgan Stanley, the PGA TOUR’s flagship event, THE PLAYERS Championship (March 10-16), returns to THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. In 2024, world No. 1 and FedExCup leader Scottie Scheffler became the first player to successfully defend a title at THE PLAYERS, edging Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark and Brian Harman by one shot.
  • One week later, the Valspar Championship (March 17-23) returns to Innisbrook Resort’s Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor, Florida, a favorite venue among PGA TOUR members. Peter Malnati captured his second career PGA TOUR title on the Copperhead Course in 2024.
  • Two weeks in Texas lead the run-up to the Masters Tournament (April 7-13). The first stop is the Texas Children’s Houston Open (March 24-30) at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston. The 2025 season will mark the second consecutive year of the Houston event being played in the spring. The following week, the Valero Texas Open (March 31-April 6) is set for TPC San Antonio’s Oaks Course, where Akshay Bhatia captured the 2024 title in wire-to-wire fashion, earning the final exemption into the Masters.
  • The week after the Masters, the fifth Signature Event of 2025, the RBC Heritage (April 14-20), returns to the Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. That same week, the Corales Puntacana Championship , an Additional Event in the Dominican Republic, returns to Puntacana Resort & Club’s Corales Golf Course.
  • The PGA TOUR’s only official team event, the Zurich Classic of New Orleans (April 21-27), features two-player teams competing in both Foursomes and Four-Ball competition over 72 holes. Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry emerged victorious at TPC Louisiana in Avondale, Louisiana, in 2024.
  • In CJ Group’s second year as title sponsor, THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson (April 28-May 4) — named in honor of the legendary Texan who captured 52 career PGA TOUR titles — will be held at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas.
  • Truist was announced on Aug. 6 as title sponsor of the TOUR’s traditional stop at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. With Quail Hollow Club set to host the 2025 PGA Championship (May 12-18), the Truist Championship (May 5-11) will be contested at The Philadelphia Cricket Club in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. That same week, the second edition of the Myrtle Beach Classic at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, will be played.
  • The Charles Schwab Challenge (May 19-25) returns to Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, the longest-running host venue on the PGA TOUR (outside of the majors), where Davis Riley held off world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler in 2024 to earn his second PGA TOUR title.
  • Hosted by golf’s greatest sportsman, Jack Nicklaus, the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday (May 26-June 1) returns to its traditional position on the TOUR’s calendar following Memorial Day. The Signature Event will be played at Nicklaus’ masterpiece, Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.
  • The RBC Canadian Open (June 2-8) will make its debut at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley (North Course), just the eighth facility to host Canada’s national men’s open golf championship since 1977. The event returns to its traditional date the week prior to the U.S. Open.
  • Following the U.S. Open (June 9-15) at Oakmont Country Club outside Pittsburgh, the TOUR heads 475 miles northeast to Cromwell, Connecticut, for the final Signature Event of 2025, the Travelers Championship (June 16-22). In 2024, Scottie Scheffler won his fourth Signature Event of the season at TPC River Highlands and sixth Regular Season event before going on to claim the gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
  • A pair of TPC Network courses that host PGA TOUR events will celebrate 25 th anniversaries in 2025: TPC Deere Run, site of the John Deere Classic (June 30-July 6), and the Arnold Palmer-designed TPC Twin Cities, which has hosted the 3M Open (July 21-27) since 2019. In addition, the Rocket Mortgage Classic (June 23-29), played near downtown Detroit at Detroit Golf Club, makes up the TOUR’s Midwest presence in Illinois, Minnesota and Michigan, respectively.
  • For the fourth consecutive season, three tournaments will be part of both the FedExCup and the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai. In 2024, Robert MacIntyre became the first Scottish player in 25 years to win the Genesis Scottish Open (July 7-13), which is co-sanctioned by both Tours, while the ISCO Championship (July 7-13) and Barracuda Championship (July 14-20) each allow access to 50 DP World Tour members. As previously announced, the ISCO Championship will move to Hurstbourne Country Club (Championship Course) in Louisville, Kentucky.
  • The Open Championship (July 14-20) returns to Royal Portrush Golf Club in Portrush, Northern Ireland, for the first time since 2019 when Ireland’s Shane Lowry won his first major title.
  • The Wyndham Championship (July 28-Aug. 3) concludes the FedExCup Regular Season and finalizes the 70-player field for the first FedExCup Playoffs event.

2025 FedExCup Playoffs

The 19 th edition of the FedExCup Playoffs follows, with the top 70 players in the FedExCup standings qualifying for the first FedExCup Playoffs event, the FedEx St. Jude Championship (Aug. 4-10) at TPC Southwind, in Memphis, Tennessee. Those players are also exempt for Full-Field Events and THE PLAYERS in 2026.

From there, the top 50 players in the FedExCup standings advance to the BMW Championship (Aug. 11-17), contested at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland, for the second time. In 2021, Patrick Cantlay won in a six-hole playoff en route to winning the FedExCup. Players who advance to the BMW Championship are fully exempt for the following season and qualify for all Signature Events in 2026.

Following the BMW Championship, the top 30 will move on to the season-ending TOUR Championship (Aug. 18-24). With support from Proud Partners Accenture, The Coca-Cola Company and Southern Company, the FedExCup Playoffs finale at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia, will crown the FedExCup Champion and award a $25 million bonus.

FedExCup Fall

After the TOUR Championship, the 2025 FedExCup Fall will finalize top 125 eligibility for the 2026 season, as well as starts in THE PLAYERS. While players in the top 50 will continue to be eligible for FedExCup Fall events, players ranked No. 51 and beyond carry over their FedExCup points from the Regular Season and FedEx St. Jude Championship and will continue to accumulate points through the FedExCup Fall toward their eligibility status for 2026.

Paige Spiranac, Good Good members among field for today's PGA Tour's 'Creator Classic' at Tour Championship

The PGA Tour is stepping into the YouTube golf world for the first time.

Some of the most popular golf creators from around the world will face off in The Creator Classic, a nine-hole competition at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta before the Tour Championship. The tournament will be broadcast on the PGA Tour YouTube channel and several other platforms. The event will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 4 p.m. ET at East Lake before play begins the next day.

Sixteen of the most successful and skilled golf creators will take on the newly restored East Lake Golf Club — facing the same conditions as the pros — each competing for the inaugural Creator Classic title. Among the participants are Paige Spiranac, Tyler Toney from Dude Perfect, the Bryan Bros, Fat Perez from Bob Does Sports and Good Good creators Garrett Clark, Brad Dalke and Sean Walsh.

The tournament will consist of eight holes of gross stroke play, then a playoff between the top four finishers. Foursomes will be announced the day before the event.

The Creator Classic marks the first look at the new back nine at East Lake, making these creators the first to officially take on the restored course. The club underwent a dramatic full-scale restoration following the 2023 Tour Championship to return the course to its golden age and harken back to elements from the original Donald Ross layout, as well as reflect the changes in the modern game.

The Creator C lassic, which will feature ShotLink, Trackman shot tracing and on-screen graphics,  will be streamed live  via the PGA Tour’s YouTube channel as well as Peacock and ESPN+ .

A familiar face returns to NBC’s PGA Tour postseason coverage

Kevin Kisner is serving as lead analyst for NBC's FedEx Cup Playoff coverage.

Getty Images

The Vegas oddsmakers would have laughed you out of the room if you’d told them back in late January that Kevin Kisner would serve as NBC’s lead analyst for the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

Not because Kisner was a longshot to get the lead gig. In fact, the exact opposite.

Fresh off a smashing debut in Kapalua, Kisner’s runaway favorite status came with a few easy pros: He was young enough to cling to the very last vestiges of his playing career, well-connected enough to keep the broadcast in the good graces of the playing class, and talented enough to keep viewers entertained.

The only question surrounding his candidacy seemed like a throwaway: Would he be willing to retire from the millions that come with playing pro golf to take the millions that comes with pro golf broadcasting?

As the months progressed, though, that question grew thornier. Could it be the longtime Tour pro wasn’t ready to hand over the reins to his playing career? In the early days, the most obvious hint of trepidation came not from Kisner but from NBC, who chose not to hire a full-time replacement for the lead analyst role in the days and months following Kisner’s debut. But then, a few months after his debut, Kisner gave an interview to Golf Digest’s The Loop podcast that laid down the law.

“I haven’t played well in two years, and I don’t really want to go out like that, to be honest with you,” Kisner said then . “I feel like I can still compete with the guys if I’m playing well, which I haven’t played what I consider well yet. So it’s kind of a test to myself to see, h ow hard can you work to figure it out ?”

Indeed, Kisner wasn’t ready to retire from pro golf until he’d given his playing career one last college try, which left NBC in a strange kind of purgatory. Should they pursue a new lead analyst, or should they wait Kisner out?

The two sides stayed in that purgatory through last week’s Wyndham Championship, the final PGA Tour event of the 2024 regular season, when a new piece of news arrived: Kisner would serve as lead analyst of NBC’s coverage through the FedEx Cup Playoffs, his highest-profile assignment to date.

The part-time promotion gives Kisner another look at how life in the booth looks before an offseason of hard decisions about his PGA Tour future. His three-year PGA Tour winner’s exemption will lapse in December, which makes this year’s FedEx Cup fall crucial to his competitive future. (The FedEx Cup fall fills out the final spots of the top 125 players who receive full-time playing status on the Tour in the following year.) Kisner could opt to grind for his Tour status through the fall and see how it plays out, as he did throughout the summer. He could choose to stick around in the pro game and pick off his remaining exemptions. Or he could opt to return back to NBC, after all.

Of course, there’s no guarantee the network will be waiting around to hire him in the lead analyst role. The last several months have afforded NBC the freedom to try out a host of other big-name voices for the lead analyst gig, and while no tryout has run away with the job, names like Luke Donald, Paul McGinley and Brandel Chamblee have performed well. But NBC’s excitement to re-hire Kisner for the fall indicates all we need to know about the network’s enthusiasm for his ability. After a year filled with turmoil for the network’s golf coverage, a Kisner hire would be a welcome piece of good news.

As ever, the question remains: Does Kisner feel the same?
