Journey are preparing to head out on their massive North American “Freedom Tour 2023,” and for the band that practically wrote the motto for a guaranteed good time, fans will want to secure tickets fast. The group will be supporting their first album in 11 years, July’s Freedom .

What Is Journey’s Next Tour?

The “Freedom Tour 2023” spans 38 cities across North America and begins on February 4th in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Journey will spend the first week on the East Coast between Virginia and North Carolina, then they’ll head south via Lexington, Kentucky and Knoxville, Tennessee. They’ll play Austin’s Moody Center on February 22nd, Jacksonville’s Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena on February 26th, and Washington, D.C.’s Capital One Arena on March 1st.

Journey spends the next week in Canada, opening in Montréal on March 8th, followed by stops in Québec, Toronto, and Ottawa. The band returns stateside on March 16th in Buffalo, then heads to Atlantic City, New Jersey on March 17th. They’ll begin a Midwest jaunt in Champaign, Illinois on March 20th and hit Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Lincoln, Nebraska; Des Moines, Iowa; and Tulsa, Oklahoma before playing Memphis’ FedExForum on April 1st and San Antonio’s AT&T Center on April 4th.

The final leg on the West Coast begins after shows in Missouri, Kansas, and Wyoming. Journey plays Spokane, Washington on April 14th and Eugene, Oregon on April 17th before heading to California for their final four performances in Stockton, Bakersfield, Fresno, and the tour finale in Palm Springs on April 25th.

Who Is Opening for Journey on Tour?

Journey will be joined on the “Freedom Tour 2023” by Toto . The band we have to thank for “Africa” were also guests on Journey’s previous outing, “Freedom Tour 2022.”

How Can I Get Tickets for Journey’s 2023 Tour?

Journey tickets will be first available via Citi cardmember pre-sale on Tuesday, October 18th at 10:00 a.m. local time. Artist pre-sales for both Journey and Toto begin on Wednesday, October 19th, and a  Live Nation pre-sale opens on Thursday, Oct 20th at 10:00 a.m. local time (use access code PUMPKIN ). Tickets for the general public go up for grabs on Friday, October 21st at 10:00 a.m. local time.

One of the most legendary rock bands of all time, JOURNEY, announces their Freedom Tour 2022, featuring very special guests TOTO. The diamond-selling Rock & Roll Hall of Famers will take the stage in 40 cities across North America with their catalog of global chart-topping hits, including "Don't Stop Believin”, "Any Way You Want It", "Faithfully", "Lights" and more. The tour comes after the band previously announced a brand new six-show Las Vegas residency, running from December 1 to December 11 at the Theater at Virgin Hotels.

Presented by AEG Presents, the Freedom Tour 2022 begins February 22 in Pittsburgh, PA – making stops in Los Angeles, Dallas, Nashville and more – before wrapping May 11 in Hartford, CT. Very special guest TOTO, who have collectively streamed more than 3.3 billion plays on Spotify alone, will join JOURNEY on all remaining dates beginning in San Diego on April 7.

JOURNEY are one of rock music’s most influential icons, and they are set to deliver a brand-new album, FREEDOM, in 2022. This summer, the band headlined the Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago, uniting thousands of fans across generations with their decade-spanning setlist of beloved anthems. The group also rocked Central Park with “Anyway You Want It” and “Don’t Stop Believin’” at We Love NYC: The Homecoming Concert, in addition to honoring 9/11 first responders at the Tunnel to Towers concert in August. JOURNEY – Diamond-selling Rock & Roll Hall of Famers – will take the stage in 30 cities across North America with their catalog of global chart-topping hits, including "Don't Stop Believin”, "Any Way You Want It", "Faithfully", "Lights" and more.

Presented by AEG Presents, JOURNEY Freedom Tour 2024 begins Friday, February 9 in Biloxi, MS – making stops Louisville, Omaha, Las Vegas and more. The band will play PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC on Saturday, Feb. 17

JOURNEY features founder Neal Schon (lead guitarist), J onathan Cain (keyboards, backing vocals), Arnel Pineda (lead vocals) Jason Derlatka (keyboards, vocals), and Deen Castronovo (drums, vocals) and Todd Jensen (bass). Neal Schon is a 3x Hall of Fame inductee, having been inducted to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Grammy Hall of Fame.  Jon Cain is a recipient of two BMI songwriter awards and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Journey.

JOURNEY and TOTO previously joined forces for an early 2022 U.S. arena tour.

JOURNEY is continuing to promote its latest album, "Freedom" , which was released in July via BMG . The LP debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Current Rock chart.

The members of JOURNEY celebrated the album's release by kicking off a residency featuring special symphony orchestra performances at the new, state-of-the-art Resorts World Casino in Las Vegas.

As JOURNEY 's legend continues to grow larger and their touring gets bigger, "Freedom" is the band’s first album of new material to be released in eleven years, since 2011's "Eclipse" , and in addition to Schon , along with longtime keyboard player and primary lyricist Cain and Pineda , one more member was recruited for the LP — bassist extraordinaire Randy Jackson , who had played on JOURNEY 's 1986 album "Raised On Radio" .

What is the American Freedom tour?

The American Freedom tour brought former President Donald Trump to the stage once again on Saturday, May 14, 2022.

Speakers at the event explained their views on four topics including faith, family, finance, and freedom.

The American Freedom Tour website states its mission is to provide "patriotic, educational events that promote freedom and conservative ideas to shape opinions and culture nationwide."

"The American Freedom Tour with President Donald J. Trump is the nation's preeminent event series designed to equip conservatives across the country to Win Back America."

The Austin Convention Center in Texas was the first location to host the tour on May 14 from 8.15am to 5pm CT.

Journey Announce “Freedom Tour 2024” with Toto

30-city outing begins next February

Journey are once again headed on the road with special guest Toto for their “Freedom Tour 2024” across North America.

The 30-city trek kicks off on February 9th in Biloxi, Mississippi, and will make stops in cities including Raleigh, North Carolina; Baltimore, Maryland; Louisville, Kentucky; Calgary, Alberta; and Las Vegas, Nevada before wrapping up on April 29th in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Earlier this year, a  Billboard report provided a look into the feud between Journey’s remaining classic members, guitarist Neal Schon and keyboardist Jonathan Cain, which had escalated to the point that off-duty police officers had been hired to guard their respective dressing rooms during the first iteration of “Freedom Tour.” Their last album,  Freedom , was released last July.

Journey Profile

Journey is a classic rock band from San Francisco, California. They made their debut in 1973 but didn’t find success until 1978 when Steve Perry joined the band as lead vocalist. They first hit single was “Wheel in the Sky” off 1978’s Infinity album.

The group released “Don’t Stop Believin'” in 1981, which is still ironically used today in sporting arenas and pop culture throughout North America.

Steve Perry left the band in 1997 due to a degenerative bone condition. The group began to shuffle band members since then and released a few albums with little success. Since 2007, the lead singer of Journey has been Arnel Pineda. The rest of the band members from 1981 are still present in the group.

Some of Jouney’s most popular songs are Who’s Crying Now, Open Arms, Separate Ways, and When You Love a Woman.

At the beginning of November 2019, Journey announced a new 2020 North American tour spanning 60 tour dates. They planned on bringing The Pretenders on tour with them. Unfortunately, that tour was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In November of 2021, Journey announced a 2022 tour called Freedom. That tour was eventually extended into 2023 and 2024.

In the summer of 2024, Journey and Def Leppard went out on a Summer Stadium tour together.

Hear the stories of the people who tunnelled to freedom (30.09. - 6.10.2024)

Ever since the SED regime erected the Berlin Wall in August 1961, there have been repeated attempts to cross the deadly barriers through the urban sewer system or self-dug tunnels, thus gaining access to freedom. The first tunnel project “ran” in October 1961, the last failed in 1982. In total, more than 70 tunnels were started, of which, however, only 19 were successful. Through them, over 300 citizens of the GDR managed to make it from East to West Berlin to freedom. There were spectacular successes, betrayals and bitter failures. Soon, a veritable “cat and mouse game” developed between the tunnel builders and the GDR State Security, with increasingly difficult conditions for the escape helpers and refugees. On this two-hour tour, we not only tell stories of the escape tunnels – on the occasion of its 60 th anniversary, we are currently focussing on ‘Tunnel 57’. After the thematic introduction in our exhibition rooms in the Blochplatz civil defence facility, we will take the U8 underground line to Bernauer Strasse, a hotspot during the building of the Wall and a focal point in escape tunnel construction. After visiting the authentic sites of ‘Tunnel 57’ there, we go underground again. In the historic vaults of the former Oswald-Berliner brewery, we report on other successful as well as betrayed and failed tunnel projects from the time of the Berlin Wall using full-scale tunnel replicas. As a highlight an original escape tunnel from 1970/71 can be seen – eight metres below the surface. This is accessed via a visitors’ tunnel approximately 30 metres in length, which was built by Berlin Underworlds over a period of a year and a half.  It is the only real escape tunnel which can still be visited today.

As part of this special annual tour, we will also be presenting the exhibition ‘Tunnel 57: An Escape Story as a Comic’ by Susanne Buddenberg and Thomas Henseler.

In cooperation with the Berlin Wall Memorial , we are also offering an extensive program of events to mark the 60 th anniversary of ‘Tunnel 57’.

Sturdy footwear is obligatory (no high heels, sandals, flip-flops, espadrilles, ballet pumps, etc.) .

Ivanovo, Russia, a modest city located 290 kilometers from Moscow and 100 kilometers from Yaroslavl, rose to prominence in the 18 th century as the Textile Capital of Russia. A pearl along the Golden Ring of Russia, Ivanovo has maintained its reputation as a flourishing industrial city which impresses visitors with unique museums and historic avant-garde architecture .

The city of Ivanovo developed from a village which was founded on the Uvod River in the 15 th century. The precise circumstances of its founding remain murky, yet historians have found mention of it in a document dating to 1651. The settlement once belonged to Ivan the Terrible who, after marrying Maria Cherkassk, gifted it to the princes of Cherkassk. During the Time of Troubles of the early 16 th century, a Polish-Cossack camp was established here. In the early 18 th century, it passed into the hands of the counts of Sheremetyev, who remained in control for the next 120 years.

Several villages were established around the settlement, which came to be known as Voznesensky Posad. After the hamlets were unified, it was renamed Ivanovo-Voznesensk, and in 1932 the city’s name was whittled down to Ivanovo.

In 1742, the first factories were founded in Ivanovo, in which canvases were manually churned out on machines and bleached in river water. Production in Ivanovo continued to develop, with residents first weaving material from thin, durable linen and later from calico. Over time, the city grew into the largest center of textile production in the entire Russian Empire. This title was no small source of pride for its residents, and even the city's coat of arms depicts a girl in folk costume sitting with a spindle and spinning wheel. Ivanovo began to be dubbed "Calico Region", "Textile Capital of Russia" and even “City of Brides”, since the rapid development of the city’s textile industry led to a disproportionately high number of women among its population.

Yet Ivanovo’s significance was not limited to its superb textile industry alone. Having set its sights on becoming the third capital of Russia, the city became a platform for various social experiments. Russia’s finest architects were commissioned to work in the city, which became a center for the constructivist architecture popular in the Soviet Union in the 1920s-1930s. Some of the country’s most revolutionary architectural endeavors were carried out here, including communal housing, the first Soviet kitchen factory, a constructivist railway station and sundry avant-garde projects.

After World War II, Ivanovo’s rapidly developing heavy industry generated a boom in its housing industry. Although employed in factories and industrial settings, residents were provided with ample parks in which to relax and enjoy the brisk Ivanovo weather in spring and summer.

The 18 th - early 20 th century estates of Ivanovo’s merchants and manufacturers played a significant role in the development of the city’s material and cultural vibe, as is evidenced in buildings such as the State Medical Academy and various 1920s factories in which innovative architecture was flamboyantly displayed .

Ivanovo Today

Today the city of Ivanovo, located in Ivanovo Region (Ivanovo Oblast) along Russia’s Golden Ring, invites visitors to step back in time and embrace its spirited heritage.

The city offers three theaters, four cinemas, the Ivanovo State Circus and Ivanovo State Philharmonic Society. Stepanov Park of Culture and Leisure, named after a 1920s member of the Ivanovo Council of Workers and Soldiers, is spread across 70 hectares of land which once belonged to a local industrialist family, while various monuments pay tribute to local historical figures. The most notable of these is the Monument to Yakov Garelin, an industrialist who managed and modernized a pivotal textile plant in the 1840s.

Ivanovo’s eclectic assortment of museums promises to satisfy every interest. Visit the House Museum of the Bubnov Family to see the city’s only surviving building with a mezzanine or the Museum of the National Artist of Russia A.I. Morozov, housed in a 1910 log cabin. Other unique galleries include Museum of Soviet Car Industry, Museum of Ivanovo Chintz, Ivanovo Regional Art Museum and the Ivanovo State Museum of History and Local Lore of DG Burylin. Dozens of Ivanovo’s famed constructivist-era buildings also remain intact, most notably the unique Bird House, Horseshoe House and Ship House.

The spiritual life of Ivanovo can be seen in its many 19 th -20 th century churches and monasteries. Among them are the wooden Assumption Cemetery Church (17 th century), Church of Our Lady of Kazan (1810), Holy Assumption Monastery (1834), Transfiguration Cathedral (19 th century), Church of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God (early 20 th century), the popular Sviato-Vvedensky Monastery (1901) and Temple in Honor of All Who Sorrow (1901, rebuilt in 1997-1999), which is counted among the most beautiful buildings in the city.

Ivanovo, Russia also offers a lively festival and concert scene. The city hosts many annual festivals, including Zerkalo (Mirror) International Film Festival, otherwise known as Tarkovskyfest; International Muraveynik (Anthill) Puppet Theater Festival; Antifabrika Rock Festival and the Black Rose Arkady Severny International Music Festival.
