Feels good inside. Ankle taper. Upside down pocket zippers. A bit lighter than i thought than they'd be, but still good pant.

Not made for athletes

I wanted to love these pants but they had two odd design flaws. One is that they are sized ridiculously small. I ordered a size that normally gives me ample room but these pants could hardly fit over my hip bones. These pants are also apparently made for people who have pencil-thin legs and aren't athletes, but because I exercise and have muscles in my legs I felt like my legs were being stuffed into sausage casings. Still, these pants were wonderfully stretchy and comfortable so I was willing to overlook these sizing issues, however as soon as I put them on and started walking down the hallway I discovered that the fabric makes a constant popping and crinkling sound that would be extraordinarily irritating on a hike. Ultimately, I think this is the final straw and I'm giving up on Mountain Hardwear. Some of my favorite gear used to come from Mountain Hardwear but in recent years I've too many misses with gear of average quality or flawed design decisions to trust Mountain Hardwear anymore.

Sending for repair just 1.5 months in

I bought the Winter Journey Pant just under a month and a half ago and I will be sending them in for repairs already. I love how they fit (they were a bit tight at first, but stretch out nicely) and how they feel. The warmth is incredible. After the first 3 weeks I was ready to buy another pair. However, I noticed a few weeks ago that the stitching on the faux crotch was coming undone and the MH logo is flaking off. It was a hard decision to send them in now, but I expect quality, and these are not living up to it. Now I will be without my pants for the coldest stretch of winter here in MN.

Warm and wind resistant

These arrived just in time for a cold spell, and offered a welcome alternative to my go to Gamma SLs from Arc'teryx. The Winter Journey pants offer a surprising amount of warmth and weather protection for their light, tapered fit. They're wind resistant, comfortable, and ventilate easily with their large pockets. An added bonus is that they seem to resist chalk and dust—I've yet to wash them after three day-long sessions outdoors and they look shockingly clean.

The best pant I've ever owned

Ordered these pants with the expectation they would fulfill two of my requirements. They needed to be warm enough to outlast the elements in Alberta, and they needed to be durable enough to be used in a hockey rink. Pocketing is excellent, and as one may suspect their keys to tear up the mesh pocketing, there is a more durable mesh in the pockets to improve issues. The two sleeve pockets are perfect for a phone, multitool & bear spray. I am 6'2", 165lbs, and normally am a 30 waist (typically a small), however I chose to size up to utilize the draw if need be, and to have more range of motion. Take this with a grain of salt! I have tested these at work (hockey rink) and on the trails for two weeks (roughly -20 Celsius) and they were a dream! Highly recommend!

Awesome for keeping out the wind!

Bought for cold weather bike commutes. Stellar at keeping out the wind, rode in high 30s with a headwind and almost got too warm. Nicely tapered so they don't flop around in the wind and keep my valuables securely, the extra harness compatible pockets are great for keys.

If your local store is not open, you will be required at this time to complete the final assembly. Some specialized tools may be required depending on the specific bike.

For safety reasons, do not use these products until assembly has been completed and enclosed instructions have been read and followed. Doing so puts you at risk of injury and may void the product warranty.
