Kidz Bop Live announces US tour this summer

(TMX) -- Kidz Bop and Live Nation on Friday announced a three-year tour deal, with Kidz Bop Live 2024 set to kick off in June.

Kidz Bop, which features kids singing kid-friendly versions of pop hits, has sold more than 24 million albums, generated billions of streams, and has its own channel on SiriusXM radio.

The new tour follows a successful tour last year, which featured more than 60 dates. The 2024 tour will be sponsored by the Spin Master’s new fantasy-adventure children’s series, “Unicorn Academy,” which is streaming on Netflix.

The “Unicorn Academy” partnership will include on-screen content to occupy young fans before concerts, along with photo ops and other activities. Ten cities will feature a pop-up “Unicorn Academy” experience.

Citi cardholders will have access to presale tickets from Monday, Jan. 22 until Thursday, Jan. 25 through the Citi Entertainment program, with additional presale events, including a Spotify Fans First presale, throughout the week. Multiple VIP packages will be available on VIPNation.com , featuring premium tickets, exclusive merchandise, a pre-show dance party, a post-show Meet and Greet with the Kidz Bop Kids, and a group party experience.

In April, Kidz Bop is kicking off its first U.K. tour with stops in 11 cities, including London, Manchester and Birmingham.

The U.S. tour is scheduled to kick off on June 27 at the Palace Theater in Stamford, Conn., and it will wrap on Oct. 6 at the Ameris Bank Amphitheater in Alpharetta, Ga.

Meet the New Jersey teen who's rocking around the country with KIDZ BOP LIVE 2024

When Cliff Donadio performs in KIDZ BOP LIVE concerts, he loves looking out in the audience and seeing thousands of excited fans.

But when the teen steps onstage on Sunday at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, it'll be extra special to see scores of his friends and family in the house.

The 16-year-old from Old Bridge has been part of KIDZ BOP LIVE for two years, touring around the country and singing and dancing in mega concerts of today's hottest hit songs.

"It's such a fun thing to do, and I love doing it," he said. "Performing for the fans and seeing smiles on everybody's faces, seeing everyone have fun is the best thing about it."

He says he's looking forward to playing in his own backyard on Sunday.

KIDZ BOP LIVE 2024

Donadio is part of a quartet onstage that also features young performers Aleah, Tyler, and Shila. He calls them his best friends.

The KIDZ BOP LIVE 2024 tour is hitting 60 cities across the United States. It coincides with the release of the album " KIDZ BOP 2024 Vol. 2" , which includes pop hits like “Espresso,” “greedy,” “vampire” and more.

Donadio says one of his favorite moments in the show is performing the song "Sunroof" as a duet with Tyler. He also loves the feeling in the house toward the start of the show, which kicks off with a KIDZ BOP original, "We're Taking Over."

"Opening the show, the costumes, lighting, the energy and the crowd − it's always amazing when the show starts," he said.

But that energy doesn't die down during the show. He says he loves feeling the excitement from the audience, as well as chances to engage with them.

"You can never go wrong, the kids are always going wild in the crowd, having a good time, singing, dancing. And we have some moments in the show where you can dance along with us, where we teach the dance," he said.

He says he also loves that the shows are a chance for kids and their families to bond of their enjoyment of the same music.

Growing up as a dancer

Growing up in Old Bridge, Donadio said he's been dancing since he was 6.

His local dance studio was Icon Dance Complex in Manalapan.

He later started singing as well, and was part of a Brooklyn Nets dance team when he auditioned for KIDZ BOP.

Since joining the tour, he's away from home most of the time. While he attended public school in Old Bridge, he currently does his schooling with a teacher on the road. When he's not performing, he says he loves playing video games.

He's enjoying all that tour life has to offer.

"It's definitely a good experience. Right now I'm in Toronto. I haven't been in Canada (before), and it's a great experience − different foods, different places to experience. It's great."

Donadio says that he hopes to continue performing in the future, perhaps as a backup dancer to an artist he loves. He points to Bruno Mars as his favorite artist and one of his role models.
