• Granada Nicaragua

Granada fue fundada en 1524 a orillas del Lago Cocibolca (también conocido como Lago de Nicaragua), esta ciudad es tan bella como en las fotografías, Granada es la ciudad más antigua en Nicaragua, (aunque su rival, León, fue fundada más tarde, el mismo año.) El encanto de esta joya colonial inicia en el Parque Central, una plaza enmarcada con arcadas estilo Árabe y llena de fuentes de agua, vendedores de helados y carruajes decorados listos para recorrer las calles adoquinadas. A lo largo de la ciudad encontramos casas coloniales muy bien preservadas y con una completa variedad de colores tropicales e históricas mansiones convertidas en bellos hoteles boutique y buenos restaurantes. Pero no hay restauración más majestuosa que la de La Iglesia y el Museo del complejo del Convento San Francisco. En el Museo hay una exhibición de máscaras de festival y una colección de estatuaria Pre-Colombina proveniente de Isla Zapatera en el Lago Nicaragua. Entre otras iglesias, La Merced con su fachada estilo barroco e intrincados interiores siendo estos los más bellos. Hay muchas buenas razones para pasar mucho tiempo en Granada: aquí se encuentra el lugar para un masaje con chocolate o estudiar el idioma Español; cenar en algunas de las más innovadoras cocinas del país; para una vida nocturna animada y agradable que converge en la calle peatonal de Calle de La Calzada.

Granada es una excelente base para explorar gran parte del país. Muy cerca y justo al lado de las orillas del lago se encuentra el archipiélago de pequeñas islas llamado Las Isletas, las cuales puede recorrer lentamente a través de estrechas vías fluviales por barco o kayak de remo; a lo largo del recorrido usted observará como viven los locales, observará algunas casas hermosas y descubrirá un lugar excelente para avistamiento de aves. Y justo subiendo “la colina” que domina un lado de Granada se encuentra el hermoso fresco Bosque Nuboso del Volcán Mombacho, una reserva natural protegida que forma una concentrada y elevada isla de flora y fauna (2,800 pies por encima del nivel del mar): 3 especies de monos, 168 especies de aves y más de 100 especies de Orquídeas. Su pieza central es el Volcán Mombacho, aún con fumarolas humeantes. Usted podría pasar un día aquí, la reserva tiene algunos de los senderos mejor mantenidos en el país: el más largo (3 horas) forma un lazo de varias subidas difíciles que conducen a un mirador con una vista impresionante. Todos disfrutan de visitar tanto el Mariposario como el Orquideario, pero la atracción principal es el Tour del Canopy, un deslizamiento a través de la selva por las copas de los árboles montando una tirolesa de 17 plataformas.

Tome una excursión de un día en bote al Parque Nacional del Archipiélago de Zapatera, dos horas en bote desde Granada. Compuesto por 11 islas, Zapetera es famoso por sus estatuaria zoomórfica de piedra pre-Columbina (las que se encuentran en exhibición en el Convento San Francisco provienen de aquí), un factor en la opinión de arqueólogos de que la isla fue una vez un importante sitio religioso. Además de otros 20 sitios arqueológicos, la isla cuenta con una laguna cratérica y una gran cantidad de vida silvestre. Algunos de los más espectaculares dibujos en roca están cerca en la pequeña lsla el Muerto.

Huaskar estaba muy bien informado sobre su país y consultó con un trabajador de la Plantación de Banano para que su información se conectara bien de esa manera. El tour de la Plantación de Banano fue el punto culminante apreciar todo lo que entra en el cultivo, procesamiento y transporte de los Bananos y disfrutar de comer. AVOID THIS COMPANY. This company is very unethical and takes advantage of tourists, especially those from America. This company told us many lies that we caught them in. Through research, I found many stories similar to ours, that this tour company has engaged in, which is taking advantage of American tourists specifically. This is very unfortunate and unacceptable. There are many tours companies to choose from, so when doing so, I would recommend avoiding this company due to an aggressive amount of unnecessary stress.

Short but sweet. Learned a bit a history of Granada and of course about Nicaragua. A nice day trip to Ometepe Island and a very relaxing two days in San Juan Del sur.

I am so pleased with Vive Travels and TourRadar. You were amazing! The activities were fun and action filled. Our guide (Warner) was personable , fun, and looked out for us the entire time. The only thing I would suggest is to have less down town on the day we didn’t start until 3pm. Additionally, the hotels were not the cleanest. However, I am extremely pleased overall and I will definitely use TourRadar and look into future trips with Vive Travels. I am going to start looking right away! I Reccomend any traveler to use you!

Prior to attending this GIVE trip to Nicaragua, I had never gone on a trip without my family; let alone going to a foreign country all by myself. The trip started out rocky, some weather delayed the trip 1 day for myself and 4 other travelers however once we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms by everyone. Being fully immersed in the culture and community of Jiquilillo was truly an eye opening experience. From learning how to surf and make tortillas with the locals to climbing two active volcanoes, so many memories were made on this trip and I will forever hold Jiquilillo in my heart. I am so profoundly grateful to have had this experience with this amazingly beautiful group of people. Going on this trip has truly opened my eyes as to how to be a true global citizen and how to leave long lasting handprints on my community and the world. I 100% recommend stepping outside of your comfort zone and taking the step to go on a GIVE trip. Making memories with a group of people you only just met and being able to experience the things you will experience on this trip is truly the experience of a lifetime.
