The Paris Day Segway Tour is the perfect tour for both those new to the city and Parisian veterans. And we’re sure you’ll both agree that riding a Segway is the best way to see the ‘City of Lights’. This is a great way to glide and cover all the Paris highlights in a short amount of time using quiet roads and bike paths and avoiding busy streets. Your personal Segway will make a magical city come to life even more!

Please note that if you are taking a tour in Paris from July 18th to September 9th , our itineraries will be adjusted due to closures and constructions of the Olympics. We appreciate your understanding as we navigate this monumental event!

You will have a more personal experience as all of our Segways tours are small groups. Getting from site to site has never been faster, and you’ll be able to take in much of the city in just a few hours. If you’ve never ridden a Segway before, do not worry, our Segway tour guide will make sure you are ready for the tour with a brief training session before all of the fun starts. Plus, there is no better backdrop than beautiful Paris! Our Paris Day Segway Tour offers the perfect orientation to a timeless and magnificent city. Glide along the famous streets and through the beautiful parks, all while having a ton of fun.

We ensure easy navigation through Paris, making it possible to cover much more ground than is possible by foot. We offer you fantastic photo opportunities, a comfortable ride and the landmark sites of the amazing capital city of France. Stop by the incredible and historical buildings of the city whilst learning about their history and interesting stories from our experienced tour guides. Journey along the famous River Seine banks and pass underneath some of its elegant and timeless bridges. You will gain an in-depth understanding of this city and the stories of its past as you effortlessly roll along. Highlights also include the Military school of Napoleon, the golden Dome Church, and, of course the Eiffel Tower, just to name a few.

• For the riding safety of everyone, all participants must be at least 12 years of age and weigh at least 100 pounds (45 kilograms), not in excess of 260 pounds (118 kilograms).  All guests under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 18 years or older.
• Due to the risk to both child and mother, pregnant women are not allowed to participate in Segway tours.

Meeting Point

Your tour meets directly at our office, located at 24 rue Edgar Faure, 75015.  The closest metro station is Dupleix (line 6), and you can also access it from La Motte Picquet Grenelle (lines 6, 8 & 10).

Our office is easy to spot from the street – you will see ‘Bike Tours’ & ‘Segway Tours’ signs in our windows.  If you are following an online map, be aware that there is also an apartment building with the same street address as our office.  If you end up there, simply walk up and around the corner against the direction of traffic (it’s a one-way street) and you’ll see our office in about 30 seconds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Segways specific questions, is there an age or weight limit.

For your riding safety, guests must be at least 12 years of age and weigh at least 100 pounds and not in excess of 260 pounds.

Will I need to put down a deposit?

Yes.  Insurance requires that Fat Tire Tours pre-authorize 400€ on a credit card. Please bring your MasterCard, Visa, Amex, or cash with you for this deposit (not Discover).  Your card will not be charged, but we will hold onto the details should your Segway incur any damage while in your possession.

If this is my first time to ride a Segway, will I be able to pick it up quickly?

Your safety is always our highest priority. Therefore, we begin each tour with a very thorough orientation of the Segway and its use before going out to enjoy the city

We’ve found that our guests pick up on how to ride a Segway within the first 10 minutes, but we like to take 20-30 minutes to explain the machines, demonstrate the best riding techniques, and then allow time to practice before heading out to see the sites. We like to ensure that every guest feels 100% confident before beginning the tour.

While riding a Segway is fairly leisurely, you will be on your feet for the duration of the tour.

If I am pregnant can I join the tour?

Unfortunately, due to the risk to both child and mother, pregnant women are not allowed to participate on our Segway tours.

General Tour Questions

Where is the tour meeting point.

Your tour meets directly at our office, located at  24 rue Edgar Faure, 75015 . Please arrive 15 minutes prior to tour departure.

How big will my group be?

Our tours operate in groups of 8 guests or less.  If your party is larger than 8, the group will be split up for safety reasons, each with a guide.  For larger parties, please inquire about a private tour at [email protected].

How long before my tour should I arrive?

The tour meeting time is 15 minutes prior to the start time. No refunds or re-bookings can be provided for late arrivals or no-shows after tour commencement or departure.

Is this tour offered in any other languages, or only English?

All scheduled tours are in English, but  private tours  can sometimes be scheduled in other languages, given we have a tour guide who speaks the language of your choice.

Can minors come on tour alone?

For safety reasons, minors (anyone under the age of 18) must be accompanied by an adult on the tour.

What is your cancellation policy?

We’re happy to offer free changes and 100% refund up to 24 hours before tour* Failure to cancel a reservation  at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure  may result in forfeited travel funds. Fare difference may apply.

Your visit step by step

Segway training.

The explanations of our instructors will allow you to quickly become comfortable on controlling your Segway.  After 15 minutes, our group (9 people maximum) is on its way to discover Paris by Segway!

11 first steps

The first 11 sites and monuments visited are those of the Paris Express Tour : Military School, Peace Wall, Champs-de-Mars, Lavirotte Building, Russian Orthodox Church and cultural center, Alexander the 3rd Bridge (ornate bridge), Petit Palais and Grand Palais.

La Grille du Coq

After Petit and Grand Palais we cross the Avenue des Champs-Elysées and we arrive at the rear exit of the Elysée Palace (French Presidence residency) in front of the Rooster Grid (so called because surmounted by a golden rooster).

The Gardens of the Champs-Elysées

Then, we cross these beautiful English gardens designed by Adolphe Alphand in 1840 to arrive at Place de la Concorde.

Place de la Concorde

It is the largest square in Paris. You can especially admire the oldest Parisian monument (the Luxor Obelisk – over 3300 years old!), two monumental fountains and many rostral columns (the Ministry of Marine is nearby) and 8 statues of French cities: Brest, Rouen, Lille, Strasbourg, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux and Nantes.

Quai des Tuileries

We leave the Place de la Concorde and go along the Quai des Tuileries. On the left, you will see the facade of the Musée de l’Orangerie (famous for Claude Monnet’s Water Lilies) and on the right we overlook the Seine and its quays.

The Sedar Senghor Footbridge

This is where you can attach your love padlock (before it was at the Pont des Arts) and can enjoy a 360° view of Paris (Le Louvre, Notre-Dame, the Orsay Museum, The Eiffel Tower …).

Quai Anatole France

We cross to the left bank and we carry on along the Quai Anatole France towards the Pont de la Concorde (bridge).

National Assembly

After admiring the pediment, and the statues of major French ministers Sully, L’Hospital, d’Aguesseau and Colbert we continue our itinerary along the Rue Aristide Briand before taking the Rue de L’Université.

Esplanade des Invalides

Rue de l’Université leads us to Esplanade des Invalides from where we can admire from a far the Grand Palais, Petit Palais and Alexandre the 3rd Bridge, as well as the Hôtel des Invalides on the opposite side.

Rodin Museum / the Thinker

We carry on via Boulevard des Invalides and take the opportunity to admire the Thinker by Rodin from a far.

The Dôme des Invalides

Covered with 500,000 gold sheets (12 kg of gold!), it houses the royal chapel of the Invalides as well as the tomb of Napoleon.

This is our last stop. We return to the Champ de Mars and the Eiffel Tower for final photos of Paris by Segway!
