Synthetic Turf International continues to be the designer and installer of choice for PGA Tour Superstore putting greens nationwide

Visitors to the PGA Tour Superstore try out new putters on the STI putting greens, courtesy of Bobby Baughn of STI Atlanta.

Synthetic Turf International and PGA Tour Superstore are joining forces once again.

In April, the PGA TOUR Superstore  announced three new store openings in 2014 and an ambitious growth strategy that will more than double its current retail footprint, adding one million square feet of new golf retail space over the next five years.

PGA TOUR Superstore currently has 19 retail stores ranging from 40,000 to 50,000 square feet per store. Each store has up to 14 custom fitting simulators and practice bays in every location.  The retailer plans to have up to 50 locations by 2018.

“What’s different about PGA TOUR Superstore is we purposely design our stores with what the golfers want from an experience and product assortment point of view,” said PGA Tour Superstore CEO Dick Sullivan. “When it snows in Chicago or New York, golfers can putt on our 2,000 square-foot putting greens. This experiential format works, and we’re excited to roll it out to many more markets over the next several years.”

That’s where Synthetic Turf International comes in.

Bobby Baughn of STI Atlanta has played an integral part in helping to bring this experiential format to life.  Baughn is a specialist in designing and installing synthetic turf putting greens, and has had a working relationship with PGA Tour Superstores, nationwide, going all the way back to their first store in 2006.

Every one of the PGA Tour Superstore putting greens was designed and installed by Baughn, using STI products.

One of Baughn’s putting greens made its national television debut today as a small part of the Fox and Friends U.S. Open Preview segment, when the popular morning show featured the PGA Tour Superstore’s club fitting technology.

This place has a terrible selection & service. I would definitely go to 2nd swing for massive selection, great fitting & service. I went there to inquire about installing a golf simulator in my house. The guy at the fitting area pretty much told me it starts at $20k, snubbing me & assuming I couldn't afford it. So I decided to go on my own & install a $30k simulator at my house. Also went & bought my new $1200 ping irons at 2nd swing.

Ordered a set of Callaway 4 pc junior…

Ordered a set of Callaway 4 pc junior set on July 19th. Paid extra for the 3-5 day Guaranteed Ground shipping. Today, July 28th, I called and they put me on hold. When they came back on they said it would be shipped on July 29th. Their policy on shipping is the based only on the delivery time once the product is shipped by the vendor. Nothing is stated on their website that they don't actually carry the inventory ans have no control over when the vendor is going to ship the item. If the website claims the item is in stock, one should be fairly confident the item would be shipped on the next business day. This didn't happen and is completely misleading. I would have never ordered from PGA Tour Superstore if I knew this was how their online orders are processed. Waiting to hear back from someone higher up than the customer service line.

false price advertising

I went to the Plymouth Meeting store to buy golf shorts, I picked out three pairs of shorts on a wall labelled "Select Men's PGA Tour Shorts $24.99" when I got to the register all the shorts rang up $34.99, when I took the clerk back to where I saw the shorts and the signage she wouldn't honor the price on the sign. I had her scan all the items on that display and not one item was on sale at $24.99. The store manager also was not helpful. Seems like a bad practice for the PGA Tour Superstores to follow, bait a purchase, just to have a different price at the register, customers need to be aware of their practices.

Refused to return a defective Csllaway…

Refused to return a defective Csllaway wedge that was used to hit 20 balls off the grass. Brand new ! Chrome peeled off the heel. Instead told I needed to wait to be fixed. Great, I’ll just wait a month while you send back a defective product to be fixed. The management at the Schaumburg store are all terrible. I’ll never buy anything from the PGA Superstore.

Ordered a Callaway AI driver with over night shipping on July 16th,2024. Still do not have the driver. I have called three times and every time they says FedEx hasn’t picked it up. It is now July 22,2024 and the call to them was the same old answer. My credit card already paid them. Don’t order from this company!!

Bad Customer Service and QC

I ordered a couple of Foot Joy Sta-Sof gloves from PGA Tour Superstore. Both arrived in a timely fashion, but I could tell both had been opened previously, as the gloves were not smooth and not folded in their original positions. Fine, the first glove was the right size and looked new. The second glove was a ladies, different model, in a package of the model I ordered. So I know this glove was definitely used, and most likely a return that someone placed in the wrong packaging. I called customer service and was told that a replacement glove would be sent immediately, along with a return label for the wrong glove. Neither had arrived. Now I'm going to call again and complain and no longer be nice about it. This is absurd.

Michael Malewicz

I wanted to leave a review for the outstanding repair technician, Michael Malewicz. He was honest with me about a service possibly damaging my clubs and I can't thank him enough. It's rare to meet people like Michael and his small gesture meant a lot. He should be celebrated for the way he handles himself and represents the company.

Disappointment

Bob, the manager at PGA superstore in Plantation Florida calls me at 10:58 AM to notify me, my clubs have arrived, and I specifically mentioned to Bob the manager. There are special instructions for my grips to be replaced with the grips that come from the factory. Bob, the manager seem confused when all I said to him was look at the notes on the invoice … Bob then proceeds to tell me that he can’t find invoice… after a few minutes, put on hold he calls me back reassuring me. It will be all taken care of to my surprise I arrive at 6:30 PM with no grips on clubs. after a few minutes, arriving with the help from the girl behind the counter, the invoice was found with the instructions .. I think Bob just never took the time to look for my invoice and left my clubs sitting there for seven hours with nothing done to them.. and after all that Bob, the manager from Plantation could tell me sorry for the inconvenience hogwash! I like to thank Bob and the PGA superstore you lost a loyal customer

I received a coupon in the mail for a $20 discount for a purchase greater than $100, usable in-store or online. I needed new golf shoes so I went to their website and made my selection. As I attempted to enter the discount code I was informed that it could not be accepted. I called the store and they couldn't get the code to take, so they directed me to "Customer Care" who told me that the brand I selected was exempted from the discount. The coupon spelled out in detail exempted brands, and the one I'd selected, Skechers, was not listed. Customer Care told me I was out of luck as the corporate policy was such that he could not honor the discount. Truth-in-advertising is protected by the FTC. PGA Superstore is violation of this Federal law.

The PGA Superstore in Plano on Preston…

The PGA Superstore in Plano on Preston lost my business yesterday. I was interested in a 7wood and 4 Hybrid. They didn’t have any 7 woods with Stiff shafts in stock. I asked the sales person with gray hair if he could check other stores in the area. He said he couldn’t because they “couldn’t be on the phone “ he also said it was rare to find a qi10 7 wood in a stiff shaft. I said BS to his BS! I then went on line and found and purchased both the 7wood and 4 hybrid from the Plano store and picked it up.

Really disappointed at the service from PGA Superstore. I ordered a putter over the weekend and paid for the upgraded shipping (3-5 days) to receive it by this weekend. I received the confirmation and they charged my card. Did not receive shipment confirmation so called today (Wednesday). Was told that the club was being shipped directly from Taylor Made and that always takes longer. They could send an email today but it would take up to 72 just to get an estimated ship date from TM. Horrible communication from PGA Superstore and actually deceptive to say it would take 3-5 days to get it when actuality it is 3-5 days from whenever it ships.

I shop on a regular basis at your store…

I shop on a regular basis at your store and have seen a huge difference in customer service. Very unfriendly to a point of rudeness. I recently made a purchase and wasn’t even thanked. I am going to take my business to Golf Galaxy from now on. I owned my own business for thirty years and always stressed to my employees that They greet customers with a smile and make them feel welcomed or they will go somewhere else. That is what I will be doing.

I ordered a wedge from PGA Superstore and they said 7 to 10 business days. They deducted the money on April 16 for confirmed order on April 15. I had to call on April 29 as no communication from PGA. They now state May 13 for ship date. Not only will I not be home the week of 13th, I will not have the club for the trip. The risk of the club delivered with no one home for a week is not good. False advertising and promises from PGA Superstore. Customer Service offered no answers or solutions. Go to TGW for better customer service and results

Poor experience

I purchased a Cobra AEROJET LS 50TH ANNIVERSARY DRIVER. It did not come with the torque wrench or customization guide like it was supposed to. Reached out to their customer service who was of no help. Cobra wouldn't send me one either since I didn't purchase directly from them.

PGA superstore deserves a zero or below! My son paid over $1,300 for a set of clubs and grips. We paid for faster delivery. When we received the order, they sent the wrong clubs and not all the grips were what we ordered. The entire order was wrong. Contacted the customer service and they were supposed to overnight the correct grips and a return ticket to send clubs back....never received the correct grips and now they won't respond to my emails. They are Totally avoiding me....DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY FOR SOMETHING YOU DIDN'T ORDER THEN THEY DON'T FIX IT!

The Right Way to Fit a New Set of Irons

Today I spent about 45 minutes with Gene at the 75 and Plano pkwy store. I have worked with Gene on and off for over the last 5 years and truly admire his knowledge and willingness to work with mid to high handy cap golfers like me. Generally, I shoot in the mid-nineties due to 2 or 3 bad holes. LOL His entire focus is on improving my golf game and finding what club works the best for me. As in the past Gene went through his basic Q & A to determine what clubs would work the best based on my swing and characteristics. After evaluating my swing, he recommended 3 different clubs that could produce better ball strikes and reducing my score. It didn't take long for us to discover which club was the best fit, which I ended up buying. I truly appreciate the PGA store for having pros like Gene and others to help with the tough decisions.

PGA Tour Superstore Golf and More,

PGA Tour Superstore Golf and More, If you play pickleball in Charlotte and love looking great on the court, you must shop at the PGA Superstore. I always find great skirts, tops, and shoes from top-quality brands. Destiny is so sweet and kind, ensuring I find what I need and more. Lee is pretty great, too. As a pickleball instructor, it is nice to have a place to send my students to try on shoes and check out apparel. I hope that you all start carrying more paddles. See you again soon- I can't wait to wear my new Pickleball Sweater at JCC Pickleball Social. And yes, to my friends in the Golf department, I am not opposed to getting my driver out to hit the links in 2024. Love- Allycia

Online purchasing here is terrible...avoid

They took my order online and it sat in 'processing'. I tried emailing customer service and got NO REPLY. SHAME! Today, by phone, they did immediately begin processing my cancellation. (I went directly to Foot Joy and bought the product.) Advise: Avoid PGA TOUR Superstore Online.

7 Reasons For Golfers To Shop At PGA TOUR Superstore

The PGA TOUR Superstore has grown rapidly since 2003, with 54 brick-and-mortar locations across the United States. I also appreciate their online store’s healthy selection of clubs, balls, bags, footwear apparel, and technology.

I’ve been playing golf since I was four, so I’ve seen it all. But I still get excited about buying new clubs and accessories. That’s why it’s always enjoyable to walk into a PGA TOUR Superstore and browse the same clubs my favorite golfers use.

Here are the top 7 reasons to shop at PGA TOUR Superstore:

  • Huge selection
  • Good prices for every budget
  • Online and in-person locations
  • Hitting bays let you test the clubs
  • Services include club repair, regripping, club fitting, and lessons
  • Everything you need for golf is under one roof
  • 90-Day Retur n  Policy  lets you take the clubs for a test run

But there are many options to buy new golf equipment, and it’s not cheap, so be sure to read to the end to see if PGA TOUR Superstore is right for you.

After reading this post, you will know:

  • The basics about the PGA TOUR Superstore
  • Where its outlets are located
  • The pros and cons of the membership program
  • How to find PGA TOUR Superstore promo codes and coupons

The PGA TOUR Superstore features 54 locations  stretching from the East to the West Coast.

Florida has the largest concentration, with 10 stores between Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville. Texas is a close second with 9 stores, while California is in third with 6 locations around the state.

You can check the table below to see if a PGA TOUR Superstore is open in your city or nearby.

If you do not have the luxury of a PGA TOUR Superstore in your area, enjoy the selection of products online. You can find an array of golf clubs, balls, bags, apparel, footwear, technology, and accessories from the biggest brands delivered to your doorstep.

Naturally, you lose the experience of testing products in-store and enjoy the services and amenities. However, it is a suitable alternative to securing your desired golf gear at a comfortable price.

Anyone in the US can get free shipping on orders over $99. Players’ Club Plus Golf members receive free ground shipping on all orders. It typically takes up to 10 business days to arrive in the 48 contiguous states.

International shipping is also available to 100 countries using their partner, Borderfree. This is helpful for South African golfers or digital nomads like myself who want to order a set from Argentina.

Yes, the PGA TOUR Superstore is affiliated with the PGA TOUR, as it is the tour’s official off-course retailing partner. However, the PGA TOUR does not own the PGA TOUR Superstore. The retailer is a subsidiary of the Blank Family of Businesses founded by Arthur J. Blank.

Before diving into the realm of golf retail, Blank co-founded another mega-successful operation known as Home Depot. The Blank Family of Businesses is also the owner and operator of the Atlanta Falcons and MLS outfit Atlanta United FC.

Top 7 reasons golfers shop at the pga tour superstore for equipment.

After receiving feedback from a buddy who recently visited a PGA TOUR Superstore, we found 7 top reasons to shop at the retailer. The scale of the stores, unbeatable prices, affordable services, and amenities make it the ideal one-stop shop for amateur golfers seeking new gear.

There are other advantages to the PGA TOUR Superstore, like fittings, club repair, and coaching. However, I left those out because not every store offers these services, and it’s best to manage your expectations.

I’m blown away by the size of the outlet that my buddy visited in Florida. The abundance of clubs, footwear, and gear overwhelmed him for a moment, and then he became like a kid in a candy store, unsure of which section to start looking at.

Besides equipment, he was impressed with the overall facilities, including hitting bays and greens. The facility he visited in Jacksonville also offers PGA TOUR Superstore lessons, but that might not be the case at the store in your city.

The size of the stores allows the brand to pack every golf item you need under one roof, giving you a healthy selection. Given the size of the company, PGA TOUR Superstore is afforded greater bargaining power with suppliers than some of its smaller competitors. This allows shoppers to enjoy outstanding discounts on renowned brands.

I briefly touched on the bargaining power of PGA TOUR Superstore and the abundance of equipment in their stores. This allows them to price their golf clubs, footwear, apparel, and technology products competitively.

Obviously, newer models may carry the same premium price tag you find elsewhere. However, their selection allows you to find options within your budget. For example, my buddy tested a new $400 Scotty Cameron and an older edition Odyssey for $35.

The company moves exceptional volumes of golf equipment and always has items on sale that you can take advantage of. You can also trade in old clubs and use the difference towards new clubs.

Alternatively, reap the rewards of well-priced PGA TOUR Superstore used clubs if you are not ready to fork out on a new set of golf clubs.

I’ve written a lot of reviews of golf equipment I’ve tested over the years, and PGA TOUR Superstore has a unique offering. You can buy from the comfort of your home or check it out from home and then head to the store to try it out.

Many online retailers have a large selection, but you can’t feel it, swing it, or hear how it sounds when you hit it. On the other hand, local golf shops offer a customized experience where you can test the equipment, but you can’t browse the latest clubs from your couch on a lazy Sunday.

PGA TOUR Superstore has the best of both worlds.

When you shop online , you miss out on the experience of a PGA TOUR Superstore. A trip to one of their outlets makes you feel like a professional. Besides inspecting the wealth of gear, you actually get to try it out in the store, using their practice bays.

My buddy informed me that two types of practice bays are on offer, depending on the facilities. The first is a standard bay, where you can hit away and test new clubs. The other practice bay is fancier and is equipped with a simulator, allowing you to play virtual rounds of golf in the store.

Unfortunately, the Practice+Play Bays with simulators are only available at certain outlets. The PGA TOUR Superstore does charge for using the simulator and practice bays. However, you can lower your expenses by paying the PGA TOUR Superstore membership fee.

The store in Jacksonville that my buddy visited also had an epic putting green. He managed to work on long, medium, and short putts on a smooth rolling surface, giving him a clearer idea of the best putter for his game.

I welcome the services offered by the PGA TOUR Superstore at select locations, as it reinforces its mission to be a one-stop shop for golf. The location in Jacksonville offers club repairs, regripping, custom fittings , and coaching clinics.

I discovered that a 1 hour PGA TOUR Superstore Club Fitting for irons, a driver, or a putter would set me back $99.99 at the Jacksonville facility.  This is reasonable compared to other entities that offer club fittings.

Alternatively, a 45-minute hybrid, fairway wood, or wedge fitting would cost $59.99. Ensure you book on the   PGA TOUR Superstore  website in advance.

Club repairs and regripping costs vary depending on the materials and locations. You can save in any case with the Players Club Plus Golf membership. It gets you 30% off club regripping and 50% off select club repairs.

The size of PGA TOUR Superstore facilities, equipment, amenities, and services makes it a one-stop shop for golf. It saves us from acquiring golf clubs and balls from one facility and technology, golf clothing , and footwear from somewhere else — ultimately improving convenience.

I also like that we can practice and test different equipment under one roof.  My buddy spent 3 hours in the store trying everything from drivers to spikeless golf shoes. Having everything under one roof allowed him to take his time and thoroughly test all equipment before making a decision.

What works on the simulator may not perform on the golf course. That is why the PGA TOUR Superstore offers a 90-day Return Policy on golf clubs.

If you are unhappy with how the club plays, return it for a store credit for a different golf club.

Although you do not get your money back, the store is fair enough to give you a second chance. They also do not charge a return fee, meaning they credit your account for the complete value of the golf club you returned.

PGA TOUR Superstore Membership Review

PlayersClub pga tour superstore shopping review

I noticed that the retailer offers 2 annual membership options for golfers. The Players’ Club package is an entry-level option that earns points for every dollar spent, a birthday reward, and discounts on selected goods. It is a free membership  and takes less than a minute to sign up.

The Players’ Club Plus Golf is my preferred option because it offers exceptional value for money.  Annual fees range from $99 to $199, depending on your location, but my buddy found the Jacksonville outlet highly reasonable. The Players’ Club Plus membership fee was only $140 for the year.

This entitles him to unlimited 30-minute sessions in the Standard Practice Bays and discounts on club regripping and club repair services. Facilities with Practice+Play Bays will give Players’ Club Plus Members a 20% discount for the service.

A PGA TOUR Superstore Gift Card  with a Players’ Club Plus membership is also a worthwhile gift for your golf-loving friends and family.

Points For Every Dollar Spent

The Players’ Club Plus and Free Membership earn members points for every dollar spent. A bonus $10 reward is issued after spending $500. You can then use the points towards apparel, accessories, or footwear purchases.

Unlimited Practice Bay Sessions (No Sim)

The Players’ Club Plus subscription entitles you to unlimited 30-minute practice sessions in the Standard bays. This means they are not equipped with a launch monitor and simulator, leaving you with no insight into your shots. However, it’s still perfect for working on your swing and testing out a wealth of new and pre-owned equipment.

20% Off Practice+Play Bays

Practice+Play Bays are a brilliant way to capture data on your swing and play a virtual round of golf to test new clubs. The Players’ Club Plus Membership offers a 20% discount off a 60-minute session in the Practice+Play Bays. Before you get excited, PGA TOUR Superstore only offers the setup in a few locations.

I found the Boise, Idaho store, charges $29.99 for a 60-minute session in the bay. After applying the discount, you only need to pay $23.99. It is far more affordable than purchasing a home golf simulator. Especially if you only use the simulator a few times a year.

30 Free Club Regripping Services

Joining the Players’ Club Plus team gives you access to 30 free regripping services. In other words, they do not charge you for the labor. When you purchase new shafts, club heads, or grips, they will fit them for you.

50% Off Select Club Repairs

I noticed that the PGA TOUR Superstore provides a 50% discount on shaft and clubhead repair services. The discount only applies to the labor of the team and not the shafts or grips.

Different Amenities

While the PGA TOUR Superstore goes above and beyond for amateurs, not all stores are equipped with premium features. Practice+Play Bays is a big one for me. The technology is insightful, and the service is cost-effective, yet they are only available in 5 locations.

In addition, club regripping and repair services are a tremendous feature but are limited to selected stores. I would like to see the retailer offering these resources at more outlets to increase the value of the Players’ Club Plus membership for all members.

PGA TOUR Superstore Accessories To Consider

In addition to a huge selection of golf clubs, you can find thousands of balls, shoes, apparel, tech, bags, and more. Here are a few categories that stood out to me.

pga tour superstore review titleist pro v1 golf balls

PGATSS has plenty of golf balls to pick from. Right now, they have 119 kinds on their website.

They have many top tour golf balls like the famous Pro V1s from Titleist . These are a trusted favorite for many of us. If you want distance balls, look at Srixon’s Soft Feel . They can help you get the range you’re looking for. Finally, if you want balls that don’t spin too much, check out Bridgestone e6 .

You’ll find all types of balls, from simple 2-piece balls and more complex multi-layered ones. Plus, you can choose between different outer layers like surlyn or urethane. So, there’s something for every golfer.

There are also plenty of options for women, and there are personalized options for most major brands.

jordan golf shoes pga tour superstore review

The PGA TOUR Superstore has over 300 results for shoes for men and women. The Nike Jordan ADG 4 Golf Shoe is one of their top options at the moment and has the classic Jordan style.

You can find other golf shoes from big brands like FootJoy, Nike, G/FORE, Adidas, Under Armour, and Skechers.

If you’re looking for a deal, they have a sale category where shoes from these top brands are up to 40% off! And guess what? You can even shop the gear your favorite golf players use ! So, if you want to wear the shoes of Scottie Scheffler or the shirts of Rickie Fowler , you can find them here.

pga tour superstore polo

At the PGATSS, you won’t run out of choices for golf clothes. They have a big collection with over 2,000 items for both men and women. Looking for shorts or pants? They have inseams clearly labeled on the images as you browse.

They also have shirts, pants, jackets, sweaters, hats, belts, socks, and cool sunglasses. Some big names are there too, like PGA TOUR Apparel, Adidas, TravisMathew, Nike, FootJoy, Polo Ralph Lauren, Bad Birdie, and even Barstool Sports.

If you’re curious about what’s fresh in the store, check out the New Arrivals section. There are also deals in the sale section and special tournament gear . And just like the shoes, you can shop for clothes worn by famous golfers.

Coupons for the PGA TOUR Superstore are available on various media platforms, including Los Angeles Times and Golf Monthly. You can also find PGA TOUR Superstore promo codes on sites like Simply Codes.

Yes, the PGA TOUR Superstore does have a playability guarantee allowing you to return your clubs within 90 days from the date of purchase. It is called a Performance Guarantee by the retailer, and they provide a store credit for the complete value of the purchase price.

No, Home Depot does not own the PGA Superstore. It is owned by the Blank Family of Businesses, started by Home Depot co-founder Arthur M. Blank. Home Depot does not own the PGA Superstore despite the personal connection to the companies.

According to the PGA Superstore Employee CEO Dick Sullivan, the employees do not make commissions. He revealed this in an interview with Golf WRX , where he discussed the model behind the significant growth of the company.

Yes, PGA TOUR Superstore actively contributes to charity. They have partnered with First Tee , a youth development organization, to invest in the next generation of golfers. Through this partnership, the PGA TOUR Superstore and the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation have committed $9.5 million to First Tee initiatives, including the Leadership Summit, which empowers and educates young golfers on leadership concepts. This dedication showcases the store’s commitment to giving back to the community and promoting the sport’s future.

After looking at the top 7 reasons golfers shop at PGA TOUR Superstore for equipment, I have to say I am impressed with the company. They stock an abundance of golf equipment for every price point and offer a welcoming environment to test equipment and work on your swing.

It is truly a one-stop shop for all your golfing needs and features more than just equipment. Several outlets offer professional fitting, regripping, golf club repair services, clinics, and private lessons.

I would like to see more stores carrying the Practice+Play Bays to expose amateurs to the advantage of golf shot analysis. However, I understand the technology is pricey, and the rollout to every store will take time.

Overall, I am impressed with what the PGA TOUR Superstore  is doing. I would definitely recommend visiting a brick-and-mortar store for the ultimate golfing experience.

PGA Superstore Fitting Review: In-Depth Analysis

In the world of golf, nothing is quite as satisfying as the perfect swing. But to achieve that perfect swing, you need the perfect club.

Every golfer, from the seasoned pro to the weekend warrior, deserves equipment that fits their unique swing mechanics.

Enter the PGA Superstore, a fitting institution that promises just that: a tailor-made golfing experience that could transform your game.

This review will take a deep dive into the world of PGA Superstore fittings and break down their process, offerings, and customer experience to provide an all-encompassing perspective of what you can expect.

PGA Superstore Fitting Review

The Fitting Process – A Personalized Approach

Upon entering the PGA Superstore, clients are greeted by knowledgeable and friendly staff, who carefully guide them through the fitting process.

This personalized approach begins with an interview to assess your skill level, goals, and any physical limitations.

The fitter then analyzes your existing equipment, swing mechanics, and launch data, which sets the foundation for the club fitting experience.

Cutting-Edge Technology

The PGA Superstore employs state-of-the-art technology during the fitting process to ensure the most accurate and precise results.

Clients are fitted in dedicated hitting bays equipped with launch monitors, such as TrackMan or Foresight GCQuad, which capture crucial data points like ball speed, launch angle, spin rate, and carry distance.

This advanced technology, combined with the expertise of professional fitters, enables the customization of club specifications to suit each golfer’s unique swing characteristics.

A Comprehensive Club Selection

One of the most significant advantages of the PGA Superstore fitting experience is the extensive selection of clubs from leading manufacturers, such as Callaway, TaylorMade, Ping, Titleist, and more.

This diverse range ensures that the fitting isn’t skewed by limited club or shaft options and allows you to find a club that feels just right.

PGA Superstore also offers a broad range of club customization options, from lie angle adjustments to grip replacements, further enhancing the tailored experience.

Furthermore, the PGA Superstore fitting experience is not exclusive to the elite players. Their services cater to all skill levels, from the eager beginner to the seasoned professional.

This inclusivity, coupled with the relaxed, no-pressure environment, means golfers of all abilities can benefit from their expertise.

However, it’s important to note that while the PGA Superstore fitting service is comprehensive, it comes with a price tag.

Fitting fees, although comparable to those of other major golf retailers, may feel steep to some, particularly those new to the sport.

It’s an investment, certainly, but one that many will argue is worth making for the noticeable improvement it can bring to your game.

Irons, Woods, and Putter Fittings

The PGA Superstore fitting services cover every club in the bag, offering comprehensive fitting solutions for irons, woods, and putters.

Iron fittings focus on factors like shaft material, flex, length, and lie angle, while wood fittings emphasize loft, shaft, and clubhead design.

The putter fitting process, often overlooked, is a critical aspect of the overall experience, as it can significantly impact a golfer’s short game.

Through the use of specialized technology, such as the SAM PuttLab, the fitter analyzes a golfer’s putting stroke and recommends the ideal putter type, length, and lie angle to improve consistency and accuracy on the greens.

Additional Services and Support

The PGA Superstore fitting process does not end once the optimal club specifications are determined.

Clients receive continued support, including club adjustments and fine-tuning, to ensure their equipment remains tailored to their evolving needs.

Furthermore, the PGA Superstore offers extensive follow-up services, such as golf lessons and practice facilities, to help golfers refine their technique and develop a deeper understanding of the game.

This holistic approach to the golfing experience sets the PGA Superstore apart from competitors, as it emphasizes ongoing improvement and fosters a lasting relationship with clients.

The PGA Superstore fitting experience is an invaluable resource for golfers seeking to elevate their game through custom-fit equipment.

The combination of personalized attention, cutting-edge technology, and an extensive club selection ensures a comprehensive and accurate fitting process that caters to each golfer’s unique needs.

While the cost of a professional fitting session may be a concern for some, the long-term benefits, such as improved consistency, increased distance, and overall enhanced performance, make the investment worthwhile.

Furthermore, the PGA Superstore’s commitment to providing ongoing support and additional services, like golf lessons and practice facilities, demonstrates its dedication to helping clients achieve their full potential on the course.

If you’re a golfer looking to take your game to the next level, the PGA Superstore fitting experience is a must-try.

With a team of experts, state-of-the-art technology, and a wide selection of clubs, this fitting process will provide you with the tools and knowledge necessary to unlock your golfing potential.

PGA Tour 2024 - FedEx St. Jude Championship

G’day Golfers,

Here we are, we’re into the last few events of the 2024 PGA main season, The FedEx Cup Playoffs!! This is the week where is you’re not in the top-70 on the FedEx Cup standings then your season is done until mid-September.

The first event of the FedEx Cup Play-offs is the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis, Tennessee, after that the top-50 on the FedEx Cup standings head to the BMW Championship next week, before the top-30 head to Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Course.

But lets not get ahead of ourselves, let’s get stuck in to this weeks event.

Jude1.jpg.5cbff1e929e19dd018f8fa24292f89aa.jpg

The FedEx St. Jude Championship is held at TPC Southwind, a par-70, 7,243-yard course of Ron Prichard design. The course features plenty of water including shots where it runs along the fairway and shots where the players will have to hit over water. Among the most notable holes at TPC Southwind are the 165-yard, par-3 11th hole, considered to be a smaller version of the famous 17th Island Green at TPC Sawgrass, forcing a short iron over water to a small island green.

Jude2.jpg.d0565c38ec6973ededf230f2ba4ca743.jpg

Last year, Lucas Glover won the FedEx St. Jude Championship putting together back-to-back wins after winning the Wyndham Championship the week prior. Glover started the day with a 1 shot lead over Taylor Moore, Cantlay was 5 shots behind Glover at the start of the day but fired a 64 on Sunday (the round of the day) to tie with Glover and force a play-off. The play-off last one hole with Cantlay putting his tee shot into the water incurring a penalty shot. Glover tapped in a one foot putt for par and Cantlay had a tap in for bogey. Unfortunately, Glover won’t get a chance to defend his crown here as he finished 78th on the FedEx Cup standings this year.

Field Highlights

·         Scottie Scheffler – The current world number 1, by a wide margin, and also ranked number 1 on the FedEx Cup standing, by a wide margin. Scotties season has been incredible with 6 PGA Tour wins, including a win at The Masters, and more recently a Paris Olympic Games Gold Medal. Scotties season has been so good that people trying to criticise have got to say outlandish things like ‘he only won one major’. He hasn’t missed a cut this year and his recent form is win, 7th place, win, T-41 (his only finish outside the top-25 this season) and win. Scottie will take some beating, just like any other week this season.

·         Xander Schauffele – Number 2 on the FedEx Cup standings is none other than Xander Shauffele. You might be thinking number 2 seems high considering he’s only had 2 wins on Tour and Rory McIlroy who is 3rd has also had 2 wins, so what gives? Both of Xanders win this year have been at major championships, one at the PGA Championship, and one the The Open. That’s a pretty baller move, right there! No, guys, I only win the important ones! The rest of his season has been pretty consistent with no missed cuts, 17 finishes in the top-25 in 18 events and 2 runner-up finishes along side his 2 wins. If there’s anyone who can bring it to Scottie Scheffler, it’s Xander Schauffele.

·         Rory McIlroy – 3rd on the FedEx Cup standing is Rory Mcilroy. Rory has had 2 wins this year on tour and came agonisingly close to adding another major to his tally with a solo-2nd at The US Open Championship back in June. The runner up finish I’m sure will still be playing through his head as he fell one stroke short of forcing a play-off with Bryson DeChambeau which including missing 2 putts in 3 holes that were under 4 foot. Rory’s season has been pretty consistent though. He’s only missed 1 cut and he’s had 6 top-10 finishes in 16 outings.

·         Collin Morikawa – The 4th spot on the FedEx Cup standings is home to Collin Morikawa, despite no wins in 2024, Collin is 4th thanks to some consistent golf and high finishes. Morikawa’s highest finish of the season came at The Memorial Tournament where he finished solo-2nd, this came at the end of a bit of run of form for him where he’d finished 4th in both previous weeks. Morikawa’s iron striking has been on show this season, in fact his solo-2nd week he co-led the field in par-3 scoring averages with a 2.88. Irons are very important around TPC Southwind so lets see if he can better his T-13 finish from last year.

·         Wyndham Clark – 5th on the FedEx Cup standing is Wyndham Clark. Wyndham has actually won an event on the PGA Tour this season yet he is still behind Collin Morikawa. That shows you the difference placing well at Signature Events & Majors makes. Wyndham won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this year after a 3rd round 60! The 4th round wasn’t played due to inclement weather. Since then his season has been a bit of a mixed bag; he missed the cut in 3 out of 4 majors (the major he placed in he came T-56), he had back-to-back runner-up finishes at the Arnold Palmer and The Players, 6 top-10’s and 5 missed cuts. Who knows which Wyndham is going to show up this week.

The rest of the field can be found here.

Jude3.jpg.e7ecac82b214c8146fe0bf7277f645d7.jpg

Guys, that’s it from me.

Should be an exciting week with the best players on the PGA Tour going head to head, I’ll be back next week for the BMW Championship.

I want to express my immense satisfaction with this place. The store itself is incredible--very well-organized, and you can literally find everything you need. The staff is friendly and attentive, with a special mention for their manager, Tory. I came in with a golf set purchased in Atlanta back in January. Due to an injury, I hadn't played golf since then. Now that I've recovered and can play again, I realized my irons came with a junior shaft. Despite the time that had passed, Tory was able to take care of the issue and provided outstanding assistance. The folks from Roger Dunn, (especially the Newbury Park store), should undergo an intensive training at the PGA Tour store in Torrance to learn about exceptional customer service.

I was fitted by Jason Vasquez for irons in March 2024 and had such a great experience that I returned for a wedge and putter fitting in April to complete my bag. Jason is very knowledgeable and patient and I cannot recommend him enough. Its also very easy to get an appointment--I logged online two days before and reserved a time. With respect to the irons, he observed that I needed an extra 1/2 inch in length and heavier shafts (120g stiff compared to my prior 85g regular shafts) due to my set up and swing speed. I am not a tall guy and thought longer irons would be odd, but upon trying the longer shafts I immediately went from hitting toe shots to striking the center of the face. I also had a much better feel for the clubhead due to the heaver weight. It was an eye opener and Jason explained that there was a lot more to club length then just height or posture, as the lie angle can make a huge difference in hitting the center of the face. I have played the irons for a month and have never hit the ball better. I was previously fitted for driver/woods at Club Champion and while I am happy with that fitter, I thought Jason was more relatable and the technology used was identical. Unlike CC, Jason did not once try to upsell me on premium shafts at any of my fittings. At CC, they only deal with premium shafts and I ended up spending over $600 on a 4 hybrid due to the $400 shaft, which took nearly a month to ship. Conversely, I was fitted into "stock" Vokey wedges by Jason that were on sale and ended up with two great wedges for less than half of what I paid for one club at CC. The putter fitting was also an eye opener. Jason spent nearly 90 minutes with me utilizing the SAM putting software, which analyzed the arc of my stroke, face angle, path, etc. The first thing he noticed was that my old putter shaft was too short, resulting in me hitting down on the ball and increasing spin. We then tried several different putters (including all of the LAB putters and some Scotty Cameron's). I was ready to spend $560 on a custom LAB putter based on the rave reviews, but the stock LAB DF3 actually fit me perfectly, so I saved $100 on the price, plus the fitting fee was waived. I am confident that if I would have went to CC or True Fit for a putter fitting, I would have spent at least $200 more on the same putter with unnecessary customizations. Go see Jason Vasquez for a fitting.

This review is specifically for Dustin who went ABOVE AND BEYOND on servicing my putter and driver grip replacement. Just had my golf club grips replaced by Dustin, and I couldn't be happier with the result! Seriously, this person is a perfectionist in the best possible way. They paid attention to every tiny detail, ensuring that the grips were installed flawlessly and took extra time to clean the grime off my putter shaft. What's even better is their expertise when I was watching the process and took the time to explain the process. Even let me test the putter to make sure the grip was set right to my eye before the glue was set on the putter grip. Aside from their top-notch skills, Dustin has an awesome personality. He's friendly, approachable, and genuinely passionate about what they do, which made the whole experience enjoyable. If you're looking to get your grips replaced and want someone who goes above and beyond, definitely give Dustin a shout. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! Huge thanks to Dustin for their exceptional service!

As a tall newcomer to golf, I found the standard iron set challenging. Brandon was exceptionally helpful, providing insights and assistance in extending my clubs. He not only tailored the equipment to my height but also enhanced my understanding of the game, significantly improving my performance.

If you want to come and check it out just to walk through the store and be completely ignored by every single person who works here then this is the perfect place for you to go! Come on now. My whole family, we were in here for probably half an hour. Nobody came to ask if we were looking for anything in particular or if we needed help with anything. True, most people do not go into the store if they don't know the first thing about what they're looking for. my daughter likes to come here and putt just for fun. my husband was looking to purchase a new set of woods and a new driver. Well, I am sure you don't care about our sale at all otherwise you would have acknowledged us. All around, terrible service. Different employees walked right past us didn't acknowledge our presence even. Not a single person lifted a finger, raised an eyebrow or batted an eyelash. We clearly were nonexistent or didn't fit the idea of what their customers should look like. That whole idea of prequalifying customers... it's gotta stop. Help everyone!!!

I've had some unfortunate experiences with representatives at most golf department stores, who often come across as jerks with stuck-up attitudes. However, my recent visit to the PGA Tour Superstore changed my perspective when I had a positive encounter with Brandon. He provided excellent service by customizing the length of my golf club shaft for my Callaway Paradym X hybrid. It was my first time there, and unfortunately, the man I spoke to on the phone seemed impatient, while the person I met at the fitting station (not the driving range) had a poor attitude. I sincerely hope that a manager responds to my feedback and addresses how customers like myself can receive better treatment for establishing long-term business relationships. It would be beneficial for all salespeople in golf shops, regardless of the company, to undergo retraining on treating every customer with dignity and respect. No customer should be judged based on their financial status or the color of their skin.

If you visit the PGA Tour Superstore, be sure to ask for Brandon! He goes above and beyond in delivering exceptional service!

Hi Khoa Thank you for reaching out to us. I am happy that we were able to change your perspective a bit when it comes to the golf industry. If you have heard or seen any of our commercials it is truly our aim to be “Golf’s Happy Place” for everyone. I am glad that you had a positive experience with Brandon in our club repair area, and I apologize that we were not able to provide you with better service in the areas that you mentioned. We will use this as an opportunity for further training and development with our team. I am available if like to discuss your experience in our store in greater detail. I invite you to give us another opportunity to provide you with better service in the future Thank you Best, Thomas Junk Assistant General Manager

First time in a Golf Shop and I was shopping for a birthday present for my father. I had no clue what was considered a "good" gift or where to even start. All the staff here were very friendly and helpful. Brandon was the one who mostly helped me out and went out of his way to show me multiple gift options that he thought any golfer would like. Ended up purchasing multiple items and he was kind enough to also box it up for me! Would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for anything golf related!!!

Friendly, knowledgeable staff that are willing to help or allow freedom to browse. Excellent selection of all things golf. Prices seem reasonable. Clean, well displayed products all arranged in an easy to locate format. Their PGA apparel is a good value for nice quality.

Photo of Tyler W.

Terrible customer service. Ask them if they have a certain brand either new or used and they get upset. I don't leave reviews but that was wild

Photo of Scott S.

Once again I was impressed with the service at the PGA Superstore. Found a great used demo club at a great price. Then they included a head cover and cleaned off all the price tags for me. Thank you again.

I was very impressed with the customer service I received today at the new PGA Superstore in Torrance. I won a Stealth2 driver in a raffle, but it didn't meet my specs. I went in to see if they would entertain the idea of a straight swap for a different Stealth2 driver. After talking it over with the manager he agreed. I love it when a business will work with you. They could have easily said NO, like Plaza golf did. But they didn't and now they have a customer for life. Thanks again.

Chi Chi Rodriguez, the Golf World’s Swashbuckling Champion, Dies at 88

He won eight PGA Tour tournaments and two senior majors — but it was his flair on the greens that made him one of the sport’s most popular players.

A golfer mid-stroke, wearing a white hat and shirt with bright colors mixed in.

By Richard Goldstein

Chi Chi Rodriguez, whose flamboyance on the course and passion for the game of golf transformed him into one of its most popular players through his more than three decades on the pro tours, died on Thursday. He was 88.

His death was announced by the PGA Tour . The announcement did not cite a cause or say where he died.

In a sport typically associated with lush country clubs where respectful crowds idolize often bland players with comfortable roots, Rodriguez broke the mold.

Growing up in a poor family in Puerto Rico, he almost died at age 4 from vitamin deficiencies. At 7, he helped out in the sugar cane fields where his father, Juan Rodriguez Sr., whacked away with a machete for a few dollars a day.

The boy who would be known as Chi Chi also began caddying at a course that drew affluent tourists. He taught himself to play using limbs from guava trees to propel crushed tin cans into holes that he had dug on baseball fields, and when he was 12 he shot a 67 in a real game of golf. After playing in Puerto Rican tournaments, he joined the PGA Tour in 1960.

Rodriguez was 5-foot-7 and about 120 pounds. But he used his strong hands and wrists to get off long low drives, and he was an outstanding wedge player, offsetting his sometimes balky putting game. “For a little man, he sure can hit it,” Jack Nicklaus told Sports Illustrated in 1964, relating how Rodriguez often outdistanced him off the tee on flat, into-the-wind fairways.

Rodriguez won eight tournaments on the PGA Tour, then became one of the top players on the Senior (now Champions) Tour, capturing 22 events, including two majors: the 1986 Senior Players Championship and the 1987 Senior PGA Championship. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1992.

And he played with a flourish seldom seen.

When he made a birdie, he would cover the hole with his narrow-brim straw hat, then perform a toreador dance.

“One morning we were playing for five cents a hole,” he once told People magazine, recalling his long-ago games against fellow caddies. “I made a 40-foot putt, but there was a toad in the hole. When he hopped out, the ball came with it. I lost the nickel.” That inspired him to make sure that his ball would never again escape prematurely — or so the tale went.

After draining a difficult putt, Rodriguez would sometimes turn his putter into a simulated sword being unleashed on a bull, then wipe imaginary blood from it and place it in an invisible scabbard.

Such theatricality, plus his chattering with the galleries, didn’t endear him to some of his playing partners.

He was fined $200 by the P.G.A. in October 1970 after Dave Hill complained that Rodriguez had distracted him during the Kaiser Open in California when he sought to amuse spectators with a simulated attempt to bat a golf ball with a bunker rake.

Rodriguez always maintained that he meant no disrespect to the game. But, as he once put it: “Golf is show business. I love to make people laugh.”

For all his success, Rodriguez never forgot his origins, having been inspired to help others by his father’s generosity to those who had even less than him.

After visiting a Florida juvenile detention center to give a golf clinic, he vowed to do more. In 1979, he became a founder of the Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation, which provides counseling, educational and vocational training for disadvantaged students, and he contributed substantially to its funding. The Clearwater complex, in Clearwater, Fla., now includes a public-private academy for students from the fourth to eighth grades.

“I love kids because I never was a kid,” Rodriguez once said. “I was too poor to be a kid.”

Juan Antonio Rodriguez Jr. was born on Oct. 23, 1935, in Rio Piedras, P.R., one of six children. Beyond golf, he played baseball as a young man and called himself Chi Chi after the Puerto Rican professional baseball player Chi Chi Flores.

He served in the Army in the mid-1950s and then became the assistant pro at the Dorado Beach Resort in Puerto Rico, outside San Juan. He received a $12,000 stake from Laurance S. Rockefeller, who developed the property, to help finance Rodriguez’s beginnings on the PGA Tour. His eight victories included the 1964 Western Open and the 1972 Byron Nelson Classic.

Rodriguez joined the Senior Tour in 1985 and became one of its top money winners, crediting the teaching pro Bob Toski with improving his game. “Bob told me to stand taller,” he said. “At least, as tall as someone like me can stand. It helped my swing and it helped my putting.”

In his later years he lived at the El Legado Golf Resort, which he built, in Guayama, on the island’s south coast. In May 2010, masked nighttime intruders tied him up along with his wife, Iwalani, and robbed them of cash and jewels valued at $500,000.

Rodriguez is survived by a daughter, Donnette Markham; two brothers, Jesus and Julio; and three sisters, Juanita, Carmen and Maria. His wife, a native of Hawaii, died in 2021.

Rodriguez complemented his flair on the golf course with a host of wry observations, often at his own expense.

On his youth: “I was poor when I was starting out. I mean, I had a room so small I couldn’t even change my mind.”

On his persona: “I’m a hot dog pro. That’s when someone in the gallery looks at his pairing sheet and says, ‘Here comes Joe Baloney, Sam Sausage and Chi Chi Rodriguez. Let’s go get a hot dog.’”

On his putting problems: “I read the greens in Spanish, but I putt in English.”

Scottie Scheffler dominated PGA, but postseason format not in his favor

Scheffler comes in as the favorite, but the season-ending FedEx Cup does not award the best golfer from the rest of the year.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Scottie Scheffler goes into the PGA Tour’s postseason as the No. 1 seed and it’s not even close. Winning the FedEx Cup and its $25 million bonus still feels far away.

The FedEx Cup playoffs begin Thursday at the St. Jude Championship for the top 70 from the season standings. The leading 50 players after this week move on to the BMW Championship, and from there it’s the top 30 who reach the season finale at the Tour Championship.

Scheffler doesn’t see this as a chance to put an exclamation point on his remarkable season of winning the Masters, an Olympic gold medal, The Players Championship and four signature events against the strongest fields.

The FedEx Cup playoffs are so fickle that no matter what he has done since January, and no matter what he does the next two weeks, the best he can do is start the Tour Championship at East Lake with a two-shot lead.

Scheffler was the No. 1 seed going into the Tour Championship each of the last two years. He lost a six-shot lead on the final day in 2022, and last year shot 73 in the third round to fall out of contention. East Lake has gone through a renovation, so maybe that will help.

“At the end of the day, it really comes down to East Lake,” he said Wednesday. “I didn’t have my best stuff at East Lake the last couple years. I’m kind of excited that they changed the course a little bit. It may give me some new vibes around there.” Advertisement

For the PGA Tour, it was a choice between bringing some excitement to its version of a Super Bowl by having all 30 players with a mathematical chance, or rewarding someone with a dominant year that Scheffler has produced.

Since the PGA Tour moved to this format in 2019 – two playoff events with quadruple the points, and then the top seed starting the Tour Championship at 10-under par with a two-shot lead – none of the top seeds going into the postseason has won the big prize.

“You’ve got to figure out a way to strike a balance between it being a good TV product and it still being a season-long race,” Scheffler said. “Right now … I know for a fact you can’t really quite call it the season-long race when it comes down to one stroke-play tournament on the same golf course each year.”

If it were a true season-long race, this would be something akin to a ceremonial three weeks before crowning Scheffler.

“That’s not good, either,” he said. “It would be great for me. But those aren’t the rules.”

The system now is great for Rory McIlroy, the only three-time FedEx Cup champion. He won the titles in 2016, 2019 and 2022, never as the top seed to start the postseason or even going into the Tour Championship. Advertisement

“I love this format because if it wasn’t this format, then none of us would have a chance against Scottie because he’s so far ahead,” McIlroy said.

“Is it the fairest reflection of who’s been the best player of the year? Probably not,” McIlroy said. “But I think at this point we’re not in for totally fair. We’re in for entertainment and for trying to put on the best product we possibly can.”

The more compelling part of the FedEx St. Jude Championship is toward the bottom. Top 50 is the golden ticket in this era of $20 million signature events. The players who make it to the second playoff tournament – the top 50 – are guaranteed the eight signature events that have big money and elevated FedEx Cup points.

Even that advantage is no guarantee, however. Seven players – including Lucas Glover, the defending champion at the TPC Southwind – didn’t make it to the postseason.

Among those on the outside of the top 50 going into this week are Jordan Spieth at No. 63.

Scheffler does not have the stage to himself in the postseason. Xander Schauffele is No. 2 from not only winning the PGA Championship and the British Open, but ripping off nine top 10s in his last 12 starts.

In his favor is East Lake, a course he dominates. He has broken par in 25 of his 28 rounds at the Tour Championship – the other three were at even-par 70. He had the low 72-hole score in 2020 and matched the low score in 2023. Both times, he started too far back in the staggered start, and the FedEx Cup went to someone else.

Only twice has he gone to East Lake among the top 10 seeds, so these next two weeks will be critical for Schauffele to at least hold his position. Of course, he’s going to a new East Lake that has gone through a tee-to-green restoration project by architect Andrew Green.

“I’m looking at it like I’m going to be there for the first time,” Schauffele said.
