We used Indy Travel Leaders to book our 25 year anniversary trip to the Mediterranean for a 7 day cruise. Amanda was extremely helpful in helping us plan and book everything we needed from flights, to transfers to and from airport, hotel, and ship. She took all the guess work out for us. We had an amazing time and everything went off without a hitch. I couldn't recommend Amanda and Indy Travel Leaders More.

We LOVE Travel Leaders of Indy. They have helped us plan all of our vacations since 2006, including a month in New Zealand and Australia, two ocean cruises, two river cruises, and a train adventure through Canada. I highly recommend them for all your travel needs.

My husband and I used Travel Leaders Indy to help plan our honeymoon to Jamaica. We both had valid passports from previous travels. We did most of the initial research on the resort ourselves. We chose to use a travel agency, so that we didn't run into any unexpected issues. Unfortunately, that was not the case as Amanda failed to communicate the passport requirements of travel to Jamaica in a timely manner, specifically the fact that the passports had to remain valid for six months after returning home. My husband's passport was set to expire three months after our trip. Amanda did not inform us of this requirement when we inquired about travel to Jamaica in January, when we put down our deposit in June, or when our vacation was paid in full in October. In fact, she did not inform us of this requirement until 10 days before our departure. Her actions forced us to travel to Chicago in order to visit a passport agency for a same day renewal. We incurred several hundred dollars of expenses during and as a result of the trip that would have been avoidable expenses. Alex, the owner, emailed us inquiring about our experience. We shared our concerns and never heard back from him. We cannot in good faith recommend Travel Leaders Indy. Edit In Response to Alex's reply: We knew our passport expiration dates; the dates are printed right on the passports. The issue was that no one told us that the passport had to remain valid six months after we returned. We read it on the travel details sent to us 10 days before our departure. Our trip was in November 2017 and his passport was valid until January 2018. How were we to know we needed to renew it? I believe it is highly unprofessional to blame the customer. We went through a travel agent, so that we wouldn't be blind sided by something like this. Alex has never reached out to us and has yet to reply to our email sent over 7 months ago.

Bethany, I understand your frustration with our travel agency because communication must be completed by all parties. As part of our process we find out as much information as is possible during the booking process including passport details. Since most people do not remember their passport expiration dates, we ask that passport copies be provided so we can verify everything before final payment is made. As a last resort, we send our "Important Information" notice with the final travel documents to which you reacted. If a traveler gets to the airport with improper documents, the airline agent will deny them boarding the airplane. Thankfully this did not happen to you on the day you are expecting to leave on your honeymoon. I reached out multiple times but could not connect. I know how busy brides are with planning their wedding. Hopefully you enjoyed the "Mobay Executive Treatment" that we provided for you at the Jamaica airport.

An awesome travel agency! We booked a complete Disney cruise vacation through Geneva (one of the owners) for Spring break! She handled everything incredibly well! The trip was magical with us enjoying our time! Our 12 year old daughter loved the various activities offered by Disney and we enjoyed time to relax. In all, we had a great time

I oversee the travel committee for a non-for-profit aquatic organization. We have started running research trips to Cuba to help their local shops prepare for the expected spike in tourism and to help them protect learn and adopt practices designed to protect their natural resources and ecology. For our next trip, I want to utilize a charter bus to transport our group around. We have rented vans in the past. While in Cuba, I was told that the bus MUST be chartered through a travel agent. I google and find Alex with Travel Leaders as a Cuba travel agent. After reaching out, his initial response is that he only will work if he books the whole thing (read - not enough commission). After I respond explaining our charitable nature and that arrangements during the project have been worked out with the local organizations, I offer that I will use he service again as we expect to be running this program throughout different parts of Cuba over the next few years. He offers to 'look into' the request for $250 - no guarantees to find anything, no guarantees on pricing. Nice guy - wish I could get $250 for doing some googling... Since I answer to a Board, I declined and will continue to look around with our car rental backup contingency in place. I initially gave two stars because he was quick with his responses. Obviously, substantively, he offers little value unless you are looking for a high priced trip to Cuba - a place that he clearly is not particularly familiar with, probably has never been to. Just my two cents. ** Update - I finally found another Cuban travel services that was able to get me the information that I wanted for our buses. No charges, no guarantees that we will even book with them - but we will. In fact, I will be expanding our order to include a hotel night in Havana and a bus trip for an individual that is arriving late. And they have earned our future business. This year, that was two Cuban trips with minor needs. Next year...the year after...I hope I am writing them some big checks. It will mean that we are both enjoying success. I'm rapidly approaching 50 and was around before the internet when travel agents were a must. Then and now, I have never encountered a travel agent that refused an assignment as too small or demanded money upfront and openly stated that results were not guaranteed. Even as a NFP, our organization must generate revenue to stay in business. And my successful day job is quite profitable. I suppose I would have expected a level of service that is disappearing in this country. I think you earn business - I think many believe they have a God given right to it. Best of luck to Alex and his crew, after reading the other reviews here, I am not surprised that they don't have stronger business. They refuse to put in the hard work and simply expect to be compensated handsomely for their existence. Based on his response and my subsequent success, I reduced my rating to a single star. Again, just my two cents.

Looks like Bob has only one view to post when he writes a review on Yelp; ie: he is going to blast a company with a negative review for whatever reason. Truly trying to be hurtful with his comments when something does not go his way. Yes, we are in business to make a profit. Yes, I did tell Bob that I was not going to assist him without compensation for the 3 - 5 hours of research. Travel to Cuba is not like travel to any other destination. We are here to assist people in planning complete vacations.

My husband and I used Travel Leaders Indy to book our trip to Jamaica last spring. This was our first time using a travel agent. We have decided from now on we will be using Travel Leaders Indy for any future travel needs. We had a great experience with Courtenay. We had never been to Jamaica. She was very helpful in giving us many different options on places to stay and things to do. Courtenay really listened to what we were wanting for this trip. It was so nice having her get all of our transportation and room in order for us. She definitely took the stress out of booking a vacation and we were able to just relax the whole time knowing everything was already taken care of. We cannot wait to have Courtenay set up our next trip very soon!

I had such a great experience planning my once in a life time trip to Italy. I had all my information up front and no surprises. This was a little different, in a good way, to what I have experienced in the past with online travel agents! Next trip Spain Thank you Geneva!

Carolyn, thank you for booking your Italy trip with Geneva as I know there are many choices when booking travel. We love to sell clients Italy as we are always confident that they are going to have a wonderful vacation. Let Geneva know when you are ready to make plans for Spain so that she can research everything for you. FYI, we believe that Spain is a very exciting destination because there is so much to see there.

I was very disappointed with the services provided by Travel Leaders Indy. I worked with Courtenay in planning a trip to Europe this summer with my husband and another couple. I gave her our budget and details about where we wanted to go, what we wanted to do, etc. I also indicated that each couple wanted separate hotel rooms. She was very quick to get us an itinerary and planned everything through Avanti. We wanted to make just a few changes and she then told us that the quote she gave us was only for one hotel room. When she made this change it put us well above our budget. She also didn't seem to listen to any of the other changes we wanted to make. I have been to Europe before and inquired about specific hotels that I know are budget friendly and also nice and she indicated that Avanti didn't have those hotels. When I told her that her itinerary put us well over our budget and inquired whether we had to use Avanti she just never responded. I ended up booking through STA and they listened to exactly what we wanted and we were well under our budget. I was very disappointed in the skill, lack of communication and lack of professionalism with this company.

Ashley, we are truly sorry that you did not have a good experience with our travel agency. As we work with different clients with different travel experiences, we utilize tour operators like Avanti to assist with the clients itinerary. Since there are so many hotels in Europe, it is nearly impossible for us or our tour operators to have access to all properties. I know that Courtenay provided you with many choices and recommendations which you decided to not to use her picks for your trip. I am confident that you had a wonderful trip to Europe.
