There’s several tour players who have played here and won and gone on to bigger and better things, so I think the mystique of that, it has a long and cherished history. And it’s a great field.

There is a lot of competition, this tournament has morphed into a young man’s game as a lot of tournaments do, there’s still a good amount of competition with the seniors.

Spain’s Albert Boneta (am) wins the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas.
Final Round Player Quotes Spanish amateur Albert Boneta , 22, who has been in the lead since the opening round of the tournament, comes out on top to earn the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas title. He followed his incredible opening round of 12 under-par, 60, with a 6 under-par, 66 in yesterday’s round 2, and today he shot a 7 under-par, 65 to conclude the tournament with a three-day total of 25 under-par. Boneta, in today’s final round, made 1 eagle, 7 birdies, and 2 bogeys. His opening round tied the tournament course record set at Golf Lerma . He recently graduated in Finance and Psychology at New Mexico University and plans to turn professional later this year. After his win, Boneta was very emotional but happy: “It was an unexpected win, I played last week’s tournament, the Alps de Andalucía and learned a lot and that helped me a lot this week I must say. I’m very happy; it’s the beginning of my life as a professional player, and that’s always been my dream. There is no way better to start than with a win amongst the professionals. I was quite relaxed from the beginning of the tournament, and then I had a big advantage because I started very well, so I was not nervous, I must say.” He added that: “I was very calm from the beginning of the tournament. I knew my game was good, and I was very relaxed the entire time. The best thing has been the putting, it’s what I’ve been working on the most lately, and it’s been phenomenal. It’s what has helped me to win because in the end, to make minus 25, no matter how well you hit the ball, you must make quite a few putts.” Boneta wants to “dedicate this win to my parents. They have supported me and have always been with me from the start. They came as they wanted to watch me play today, so this win is for them.” Winning this tournament has a big meaning for Boneta : “shows me that I am able to compete amongst the professionals, and this week allowed me to secure my card for next year, so it’s great.”
Austria’s Maximilian Steinlechner ,24, winner of the 2024 Gösser Open, shot a final round of 8 under-par, 64 to conclude the tournament in 2 nd place with a three-day total of 22 under-par. He made 4 birdies on the front nine holes, and once he made the turn, he made 2 birdies and 1 eagle to conclude the tournament.
After the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas , the Alps Tour Order of Merit rank has Benjamin Kedochim from France still in the lead with 21,016.65 points . Brandon Kewalramani from the United States of America remains in 2 nd place with 17,885.81 points. Italy’s Edoardo R Lipparelli is in 3 rd place with 15,646.50 points. Théo Boulet from France is in 4 th place with 15,531.75 points, and Aymeric Laussot from France rounds out the top 5 with 14,438.25 points.
The Alps Tour players now have a few weeks off before the next scheduled event which gets underway from September 5 th -7 th at UGolf Longwy International in France for the inaugural 202 4 Longwy Alps Open.

Amateur Albert Boneta from Spain remains in the lead after Round 2 at the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas.
Round 2 Player Quotes Spain’s Albert Boneta (am), 22, concludes his round 2 of the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas in the lead by 1 stroke. He shot a 6 under-par, 66 in today’s round 2 making 7 birdies and 1 bogey for a two-day total of 18 under-par. In yesterday’s opening round, he shot an incredible 12 under-par, 60 which tied the tournament course record set at Golf Lerma . He recently graduated in Finance and Psychology at New Mexico University and plans to turn professional later this year. After his round, Boneta was satisfied even though: “I’m tired, it’s been such a long day, but I’ve played well all day. I was able to avoid getting in trouble and suffer much and I managed to hole some very good putts.” He added that he believes the “key to my round was on the first hole. I hit a nice tee shot to green but bounced to the bunker, then to green, and I holed it for the first birdie of the round, so that was a good start which allowed me to not be nervous. I must say I wasn’t nervous at all, I just kept playing my game.” Boneta also mentioned that this is only his 3 rd time competing in a professional tournament and “of course, I will be nervous. It will be the first time that I tee off in the final round as a leader. I will just do my best and enjoy the day.” Boneta plans on “ turning professional later this summer after competing in some amateur events I want to take part in.”
Amateur Nathan Legrendre, 22, from France, is only 1 stroke from the 2 nd round lead after day two at the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas . He followed his unbelievable opening round of 12 under-par, 60 with a 5 under-par, 67 in today’s round 2 for a two-day total of 17 under-par. Today, he began his day on hole 10, where he went on to make 1 birdie and 1 bogey. Once he made the turn to the course’s front nine holes, Legendre went on to make 5 birdies which 3 in a row to end his round. Thanks to yesterday’s incredible round of 12 under-par, 60, Legendre now holds the tournament course record at Golf Lerma. After his 2 nd round, Legendre was very pleased even though: “The first nine holes I didn’t play very well, I made a lot of mistakes unfortunately. However, on my back nine, I was able to play much more like I did yesterday. My game was more solid, and it was obviously seen in my score. I must admit that I was a bit nervous at the beginning of the round, but it eased off throughout the day.” Legendre is still competing as an amateur this week and is playing on turning professional later this summer. He decided to remain amateur until now, “ to have the possibility to be selected by the French National Team to compete in the European Team Championships that are being played this week in Italy. I guess now I can say in the end that it was a good thing that I wasn’t picked.” He added that: “It’s hard to guess what the winning score will be, I think it could get very low. Tomorrow, I plan on staying as close to the lead as possible from the beginning until the end of the round, and we will see what happens.”
Final Round
A total of 54 players made the cut which was set at 140 (-4).
The Final Round of the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas will begin at 8:30 a.m. local time from the 1 st and 10 th hole. The Final Pairing will tee off at 9.58 a.m. local time from the 1 st hole. In case of a tie after 54 holes, a sudden-death play-off will determine the winner.
The winner of the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas will earn the winner’s check of €5,800.00 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.

Nathan Legendre and Albert Boneta share the lead with a 12 under-par after Round 1 in Spain.
Round 1 Player Quotes French amateur, Nathan Legendre , 22, is in a share of the lead after the opening round of the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas with an unbelievable round of 12 under-par, 60. He made 3 eagles, 7 birdies, and 1 bogey during today’s first round. Legendre was on a 59 watch with three holes to play but nevertheless had a strong finish to today’s round by making a birdie on the 17 th hole and an eagle on the 18 th hole. Legendre has some good finishes so far this season, including a 3 rd place finish at the 2024 Open International de La Mirabelle d’Or . With today’s amazing 12 under-par, 60, Legendre now holds the tournament course record at Golf de Lerma, which was previously set at 8 under-par. After his fabulous round, Legendre was ecstatic: “Today was an incredible round where I drove the ball and putted very well. I made almost no mistakes whatsoever and played the easy holes very well.” He added that he’s been playing well lately and found that the main difference in score comes from a “change of putter that occurred in mid-May. My putting has improved a lot in the last 2 months, and that’s how my scores have significantly improved.” Legendre also took the time to comment about this week’s host, Golf de Lerma , “The course is quite short this week, which allows us to have lots of opportunities for birdies. The course is, however, in very good condition, the greens roll very well, and trust me, it’s a pleasure to be able to putt on fast greens this week.” Legendre is still competing as an amateur, but: “This should be my last tournament. I’m preparing to turn professional this summer.” When asked to describe today’s round with a word, he responded: “accomplishment.”
Amateur Albert Boneta , 22, from Spain, co-leads alongside Legendre after the opening round of the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas with another unbelievable opening round of 12 under-par, 60. He recently graduated in Finance and Psychology at New Mexico University and plans to turn professional later this year. In his first round, Boneta made 2 eagles, 10 birdies, and 2 bogeys. He is continuing his good performance as he concluded last week’s event tied for 5 th place. After his amazing first-round, Boneta commented on how today, he obviously played well but was “extremely satisfied on how great I putted great on the back 9, I did not get in trouble at all today and holed everything.” He also explained how he found: “ This week’s course to be wide from the tee so it is easy not to get in trouble. There are courses that I just get more connected with, and this is one of those. I like how the ball rolls on the greens, and I found it easy to read them.” Boneta also talked about his he had a rough start, he was “ +1 after the first 3 holes and then I was able to make a 4 meters putt on the 4 th hole and that changed my momentum for the rest of the round. Overall, I must say that I’m playing well lately, I didn’t make any significant changes in my game, just a lot of practice especially on my putting.”

A strong field is expected this week for the 2024 Alps de Las Castillas.

He will be present in this week’s field as he is looking to earn his first title to consolidate his leadership.

Both players earned 2 wins respectfully, and capturing a third one, would allow them to earn immediate category on the Challenge Tour without having to capture one of the 5 coveted cards that is up for grabs at the end of the season.
All of this season’s winners will be present this week except for Spanish amateur Jose Antonio Sintes Navarro, winner of the 2024 Red Sea Little Venice Open, and France’s Antoine Auboin, winner of the 2024 Lacanau Alps Open .

Golf de Lerma , located about 200 km north of the city of Madrid, was built in 1992 on a former hunting estate of 220 hectares named The Andaya by Spanish architect José Gancedo . Having worked his considerable golfing magic on other courses like Costa Dorada in 1982, Canyamel in 1987, and Monte Mayor in 1989, he completed the design of the charming Lerma layout in 1992.
The Golf de Lerma combines within its 18 holes the grand simplicity of the Castilian nature and the fun complexity of the game of golf. The architect made good use of the natural terrain to design 18 holes in total sympathy with its surroundings. The fairways are wide, bunkers are intelligently positioned, and greens are sensibly proportioned with relatively flat putting surfaces.
This parkland course is sheltered on many holes as it is bounded by a forest to the north and south of the property. However, water plays a part on the front nine, with ponds between the fairways on holes 2 and 8 and in front of the greens on holes 7 and 9. On the back nine, a stream meanders across the 10th, 11th, and 15th fairways before it forms a pond that must be carried in front of the short par four, 18th hole, which is a great closing hole.
Brandon Kewalramani is back in the winner’s circle at the 2024 Alps de Andalucía.
Final Round Player Quotes
Brandon Kewalramani , 25, from the United States of America, wins his 2 nd Alps Tour title of the season at the 2024 Alps de Andalucía . He moved into the lead after yesterday’s round 2, and today, he shot a 3 under-par, 67 to conclude the tournament with a three-day total of 12 under-par. In his final round, he made 3 birdies on the front nine and then 2 more birdies and 2 bogeys on the back nine. This is his 1 st year competing on the Alps Tour, and he won back in May the 2024 Alps de Roquetas de Mar, which was disputed only about 145 km from this week’s venue. After capturing his second win, Kewalramani joked: “I guess I can say I performed well both weeks because of the beautiful weather, but no, honestly, I noticed a lot of similarities in the greens both this week and at the other venue. The greens very were grainy, but I found them to be rolling very true. I knew if I was confident and trusted my lines, I could make them. It was just a week where I felt very confident overall. All aspects of my game were very solid and with this win, it’s a great way to end the week.” He’s excited to keep competing in next week’s event: “I will definitely be in the field next week, and I’m excited to compete again here in Spain.” With today’s win, Kewalramani earned 2 titles this season, and if he were to win another event during the 2024 season, he would gain immediate playing status into the Challenge Tour , “To be honest, I always knew that if you earned 3 wins in the same season on the same tour, you would be promoted to the next tour. I never really thought about it, but now that I earned 2 wins, I’m sure it’ll be crossing my mind, but I will try not to have that affect my game. I’m a player who really tries to stay in my own world out there, my own little bubble, and today, for example, I didn’t know exactly where I stood on the 18th tee. I knew I was close but didn’t know if I had a few strokes lead, if I was tied for the lead, or if I was behind. I will try to keep playing my own game, stay in my own world, and add it up at the end.” Kewalramani was able to share this win with: “ My girlfriend was where with me this week and I’m very happy to share this win with her. In my previous win, my mom was there, so I was able to share it with her. However, I want to however dedicate this win to my dad. He’s my best friend and is always there, sharing advice and knowledge with me through the good and bad times. Unfortunately, he’s not able to travel with me to events due to work, but I must say that I thought about him during today’s round, and I knew he was following me online.” He added that he learned a valuable lesson to take away from this week, “If I trust myself and let myself play, my best golf will come out.” Robert Moran , 24, from Ireland shot a final round of 6 under-par, 64 to conclude the tournament in 2 nd place only 1 stroke from the winning score with a three-day total of 11 under-par. He made 5 birdies and 1 bogey on the opening front nine and then made 3 more bridies and 1 bogey to close out his round.
After the 2024 Alps de Andalucía, the Alps Tour Order of Merit sees France’s Benjamin Kedochim remaining in the lead with 20,196.75 points. This week’s winner, Brandon Kewalramani from the United States, moves into 2 nd place with 17,426.81 points. Round 2 Review
The winner of the 2024 Alps de Roquetas de Mar , from the United States, Brandon Kewalramani , 25, moves into a tie for the lead alongside the tournament’s first-round leader, Flavio Michetti from Italy. This is his 1st year competing on the Alps Tour , and he is looking to continue his solid performance. Kewalramani followed his opening round of 3 under-par, 67 with a 6 under-par, 64 in today’s second round for a two-day total of 9 under-par. In today’s round 2, he made 5 birdies and 1 bogey on the front nine holes and then added 1 eagle, 1 birdie, and 1 bogey on the back nine. After his fabulous 6 under-par round, Kewalramani commented: “Today was obviously great, the wind had died down this morning so I was able to hit a few shots closer but to be honest my scoring didn’t come until the back nine holes. I find the greens to be rolling really pure, so I knew if I could give myself chances, I could make them. I chipped in on hole 16, which was my 7th hole of the day, which was a huge positive momentum swing. After that, I gave myself chances, and the putts started to drop.” Kewalramani won the 2024 Alps de Roquetas de Mar only about 145 km from this week’s venue, “It’s beautiful around here, the weather is awesome, the food is great, and I really enjoy it here. That puts me in a good mood to compete. Aguilón Golf is cool, the design is very interesting. I’m glad we were able to play here, I was told it’s the first time that the Alps Tour comes here, but it’s a great course. It’s a fun and interesting course. I really want to thank the course and superintendents for allowing us to compete on a golf course in such great shape.” Having a chance to earn his 2 nd title tomorrow, he wants to: “stay in my own world out there. I want to keep my head down, one shot at a time, and add it up at the end. Once I do that, I’ll see where that puts me.”
Flavio Michetti , 20, from Italy, remains in the lead alongside Kewalramani after the conclusion of round 2 at the 2024 Alps de Andalucía with a two-day total of 9 under par. Today, he shot a 3 under-par, 67, making 4 birdies and 1 bogey. Michetti has been performing well since the beginning of the season and is looking to earn his first Alps Tour title. Last week, Michetti had the opportunity to compete in the Italian Open, and he treasures the learning opportunity he had. After he concluded his round 2, Michetti commented: “Today I had a good start, but, on my front nine, I wasn’t able to convert any birdie putts. Also, on hole 9, I made a three-putt from about 4 meters, so it was slightly frustrating. Once I began the back-nine, I missed some short birdie putts, however towards the end of the back-nine I hit some really good approach shots and that allowed me to end my round with a 3 under-par score. Overall, it was a day that my putter let me down a bit.” He added that he found Aguilón Golf to be “in very good conditions again, we began the day with barely any wind, and as the round went on, the wind picked up.” Looking ahead to tomorrow’s final round, Michetti “doesn’t have any expectations, I don’t want to get ahead of myself. I will think about a shot at a time and see what will happen after the round if it’ll be enough.”
In a 2-way tie for 3 rd place after two rounds at the 2024 Alps de Andalucía, a past winner on the Alps Tour, Spain’s Manuel Morugan ,33. He followed his even par, 70 opening round with a 6 under-par, 64 in today’s round 2 for a two-day total of 6 under-par. In his second round, he made 1 eagle, 6 birdies, and 2 bogeys. Morugan knew it was: “a matter of time that before I had a decent round together, it’s been a bad year so far for me but doing this well today, I think I’ve put the bad times behind me. Today I played very solid from tee to green with no mistakes. The course is one of the best that we are playing on the Alps Tour . It is in perfect conditions; the greens are difficult because of the type of grass, but that is also a challenge that we must learn.”
Alongside Morugan in the 2-way tie for 3 rd place with a two-day total of 6 under-par, Adam Brady from Australia. He shot a 1 under-par, 69 in the opening round, and today, he shot a 5 under-par, 65 with 1 eagle, 5 birdies, and 2 bogeys.
During today’s round 2, Spain’s Mario Galiano Aguilar shot an incredible 7 under-par, 63 which is now the new course record at Aguilón Golf.
A total of 49 players made the cut which was set at 141 (+1).
The Final Round of the 2024 Alps de Andalucía will begin at 8:00 a.m. local time from the 1 st and 10 th hole. The Final Pairing will tee off at 9:28 a.m. local time from the 1 st hole. In case of a tie after 54 holes, a sudden-death play-off will determine the winner.
The 2024 Alps de Andalucía Winner will walk away with €5,800.00 and 6,525 Order of Merit points.
Italy’s Flavio Michetti leads after Round 1 at the 2024 Alps de Andalucía.
Round 1 Review Italy’s Flavio Michetti , 20, shot a 6 under-par, 64 in the first round of the 2024 Alps de Andalucía to find himself in the lead by 1 stroke. In today’s opening round, he made a total of 1 eagle, 6 birdies and 2 bogeys. Once he ended his first round, Michetti explained how today, “I played well today from the beginning, I must say, even if I missed a short but on my 2nd hole of the day and made a bogey on the 4th hole. From the 5 th hole onwards, I did a little reset and I managed to make a lot of birdies. I was -3 after 9 holes. On the back nine, I kept the same momentum going and was able to end my day at -6. It’s a shame that on hole 6, my ball ended up right next to a palm tree, and I made a bogey. Today was a positive day, my putting was exceptional. I made nearly every putt under 3 meters after missing that putt on hole 2.” Last week, Michetti competed in the Italian Open and he: “Learned a lot, having the opportunity to play a DP World Tour event is always special. I competed last week during the Italian Open, and I must say my long game improved a lot, but last week was truly a wonderful experience, and I definitely learned a lot.” Ruben Lafuente Montesa , 23, from Spain shot a 5-under-par, 65 in the 1 st round of the 2024 Alps de Andalucía to be in a 2-way tie for 2 nd place alongside France’s Maxime Legros . During today’s round, he teed off on hole 10 where he went on to make 5 birdies, once he made the turn to the front-nine holes, his back-nine, he made 2 more birdies and 2 bogeys. Lafuente Montesa’s best finish so far this season comes from last week’s event, the 2024 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand, where he concluded the event tied for 5 th place with a three-day score of 10 under par. After his round 2, Lafuente Montesa talked about how: “I played well on the front 9, I was able to take advantage especially of the par 3s and 4s. My tee shots were very good today, I made very few mistakes. Overall, It was a good round where I had everything pretty much under control.” Lafuente Montesa added that he: “turned professional only a month ago and it’s going well, I ended up 5 th in Andorra last week and it’s a great start. I was able to receive these invitations from winning on the Faldo Tour and I’m very proud of it.” He found Aguilón Golf to be in: “great conditions, though I thought it wouldn’t fit my game, apparently, I was wrong as it has. There are holes where you must put the ball in the right position and others where you can risk, and it has worked out well for me today.” France’s Maxime Legros , 22, is in the 2-way tie for 2 nd place alongside Lafuente Montesa after the first round of the 2024 Alps de Andalucía. He shot an opening round with 1 eagle, 5 birdies, and 1 double bogey for a 5 under-par, 65. After his round Legros commented: “I’m happy with the way I’ve played today. I started with a double bogey on my first hole so I’m even happier with the way I’ve bounced back from it! Also, the course is great this week! It might be the best course we’ve played this year so far, I believe. It’s in great shape and will reward good shots!” Legros also explained how he strongly believes that: “finding fairways will set you up for birdie opportunities this week. The greens are very grainy as well, so we must be aware of it when reading putts.” Spanish amateur, Albert Boneta , 22, concluded his first round of the 2024 Alps de Andalucía with a 4 under-par, 66 and finds himself in a 2-way tie for 4 th place. He made 3 birdies on the front nine holes, and then once he made the turn, he made 3 more birdies and 2 bogeys to conclude his day. He recently graduated in Finance and Psychology at New Mexico University and plans to turn professional later this year. After his round, he happily commented: “I played really solid today, I reached many greens and played very well overall. I had chances in almost every hole today, and I took advantage of the par 5s. I also played well on the par 3s too. It was a good day overall, and I look forward to the next two rounds.” Alvaro Hernandez Cabezuela, 27, from Spain, is also in the 2-way tie for 4 th place alongside Boneta after the opening round of the 2024 Alps de Andalucía with a first-round score of 4 under-par, 66. In today’s opening round, he made 5 birdies and 1 bogey. Hernandez Cabezuela has earned various good finishes over the years but is looking to break through and earn his 1 st win on the Alps Tour . After his round, Hernandez Cabezuela commented that he’s: “very happy, I am playing well lately but for some reason, never on the first round. Let’s see if starting so well could turn out in this being my week. I have good feelings on the course, it has positively surprised me.” The highlight of the day belongs to Italy’s Elia Dallanegra, who made a fabulous hole-in-one on the Par 3, hole 12 from 133 meters.

Final Round Player Quotes France’s Théo Boulet , 21, captures his second professional win in back-to-back events during this week’s 2024 Aravell Golf Andorra Open by Creand. He shot a final round of 4 under-par,67, making 3 birdies and 1 bogey on the front nine holes, and then he made 2 more birdies on the back nine. Boulet earned his 1 st professional win at the 2024 Open International de la Mirabelle d’Or . After his win, Boulet was ecstatic: “It’s unbelievable, to be able to win back-to-back events, it’s amazing. You know, it’s always been the goal to be able to win, but to be able to win 2 events in a row is something very rare. It doesn’t happen often on a professional level. I’m very happy, it shows that the work I’m doing is paying off.” It was a long day for the players competing during the final round due to the weather delays, and he explained how: “During the delay, I played cards with my friends and had a good laugh with them. However, as soon as we were told that we would be restarting, I returned to my bubble and focused on having a good warm-up and round. Now that I think about it, I think that the delay allowed me to think about something else and take some of the stress away.” Now that he’s won two events, Boulet said, “Nothing is going to change. I’m going to keep working like I’ve been doing, and hopefully, the season will continue on a positive note. Obviously, the ultimate goal remains the same, which is to move up to the Challenge Tour, and winning two tournaments puts me in a good position, however, the season isn’t over, so I must keep focused.” Boulet takes away a valuable lesson from this week’s tournament, “even though I didn’t hit it great, I learned to play with what I had. It was a big mental improvement for me. This win is for everyone around me, my sponsors who support me as none of this would be possible without them, my coaches for all the work we’ve doing, my family and my parents who support me from far as they cannot travel with me as they work. Now I will enjoy this win and then focus on the next tournament.” Benjamin Kedochim , 29, from France, concluded the tournament in 2 nd place with a three-day total of 13 under-par. He shot a final round of 4 under-par, 67 making 2 eagles, 3 birdies and 3 bogeys.
