Three star properties: Overview

If you're looking for accommodations that offer great value (and prefer to spend your money on delicious food and great tennis tickets) we've hand picked a number of three star properties for their comfort, service, and location. If you're looking to stay as close as possible to the US Open, we also offer a number of hotels in Queens that are within 10 minutes by car to the tennis. In Manhattan, we feature the following three star hotels (View Hotels on Map) : Cambria Hotel Chelsea , Edison Hotel , The Four Points Sheraton , Hampton Inn-Times Square , Hilton Garden Inn - Times Square , Arlo Nomad and Beacon Hotel . All of these properties are convienently located between Central Park South and Times Square, and are a quick walk over to the W Hotel Times Square to take the shuttle to the US Open. In Queens, we feature the following three star hotels (View Hotels on Map) : Wyndham Garden , Laguardia Plaza Hotel , Fairfield Inn , Parc Hotel , The One Boutique Hotel and Aloft New York Laguardia by Marriott . All of these hotels are within 10-15 minutes by car to the US Open, and are in very close proximity to Laguardia and JFK Airports. Most clients staying in Queenst take either the subway, a cab or a car service such as Uber or Lyft, or take the train to get to the US Open. A trip from Queens to Manhattan generally takes about 15-20 minutes by subway. Transportation options from Manhattan to the US Open: 1. We offer scheduled shuttle service from the W Hotel Times Square on 47th and Broadway each morning out to the National Tennis Center. The departure time is TBD for the final four days. It takes between 25-40 minutes depending on traffic. 2. The # 7 Subway line from Times Square or Grand Central Station to the National Tennis Center. It costs only $2, and takes approximately 25 minutes from Times Square station. No changes, but makes frequent stops along the way. 3. The Long Island Railway train from Penn Station, direction Great Neck or Port Washington. It is direct, no changes, with generally only 3 stops. You get off at Willets Point/National Tennis Center. It takes approximately 20 minutes and costs about $8 each way.

Met Devendra while walking to Wimbledon… He traveled from Texas to queue all day and overnight to get into Wimbledon, sleeping in line overnight. In the rain! This was a wonderful trip! On my bucket list for 40yrs and the Wimbledon experience was next level! Our seats were wonderful and saw matches in both Court 1 and Center Court. Enjoyed our time. Nice hotel in a very nice location. Attentive personnel to answer a bevy of questions and concerns. Made sure we got to the Wimbledon grounds and then gave a much appreciated tour of the grounds and specifically said to take advantage of the debenture lounges.

This was a bucket list birthday gift for my husband, and this particular experience did not disappoint. There’s something magical with all the traditions of Wimbledon, and Mac Travel allowed us to experience all the iconic details. Organized very thoroughly and Michael and Jessica were very attentive throughout. Loved every minute!

This was a great experience. 1st class all the way. Michael and his staff could not have been more accommodating. Everything was perfect from the choice of hotels to dinner recommendations. Each day at Wimbledon was such fun and again, 1st class. Not only did we see matches on Courts #1 and Center Court but our seats were up close and near mid court.

This is the second time we have traveled with Mac Sports Travel and will absolutely will again. Everything is a top shelf experience. Not only are the tickets and facilities excellent, the staff ensures you are completely taken care of and you get to enjoy what is probably a bucket list trip.

This was our 2nd straight year of attending Wimbledon and using the wonderful services provided by MAC Sports Travel. New hotel (Royal Garden Hotel) was definitely an upgrade from prior year due to its location in Kensington with much more life (food/pub/entertainment) after 8:00pm than we had in Chelsea. We chose 3 days of tennis this year and enjoyed each day more than the previous day. Great seats to watch the middle rounds. MAC Sports Travel also included a High Tea at the Ritz which was such a nice addition to our week. As last year 5 stars again for Michael and Jessica..

My trip to Wimbledon was Amazing!. I do not plan to travel to any sports event unless it is planned out by Macs Sports Travel. The hosts are beautiful and attentive people. The trips and all tours are very well organized and the hosts are either personally with you or a quick text away. Responses to any text are within seconds. You never feel or get lost when you travel with Macs Sports Travel. I travelled to the Australian Open and Wimbledon with them and I intend, God's willing, to travel to the French Open with them. We had an AMAZING time in London and Wimbledon! MAC Travel made everything super convenient and easy. The private tour they provided was wonderful. We were able to see so many sites in a short period of time. I loved that the driver/tour guide customized it to meet our interests. The day at Wimbledon exceeded all of our expectations. MAC Travel helped us arrive at the perfect time, gave us a tour of the grounds and helped us get the most out of our time there. Our seats were great, and we enjoyed the debenture lounge that our tickets allowed us access to. The Wimbledon grounds are breath taking. Highly recommend!

Our Wimbledon experience with MacSports was really amazing! Amy and I had an absolutely fantastic experience with Michael and his team at Mac Sports Travel! We attended our first French Open and Mac made it a 5 Star experience for us with transport from and to CDG airport, wonderful hotel accommodations, excellent tickets at Roland Garros, special welcome and tasting event at a local restaurant AND a great tour of Paris. We just returned from our trip to Paris arranged by Mac Sports Travel. My sister and I are big Tennis fans and we love to see Rafael Nadal play in person maybe for the last time. We arranged a trip to Roland Garros from Miami and used Mac Sports Travel. We chose them because of the wonderful reviews we read about the company and they did not disappoint. Mac Sports was a joy to work with, very professional and knowledgeable from beginning to the end. We rate them10 out of 10, They took care of everything with ease, from airport transfers, to the choice of hotel, to the welcome dinner/ met with the team and our group, to the incredible seats we received which included hospitality suites at Roland Garros. They accommodated our request to see Moulin Rouge and was happy they even went with us to the dinner and show. The tour of Paris/cruise on the Seine is an icing on the cake. We really enjoyed this trip because of the Mac Sports team headed by Michael and his 3 angels: Jessica, Neil and Julia.. We felt special and safe throughout our stay, they definitely earned our business. We highly recommend Mac Sports and intend to use them again to go to Australia open in 2024.

The next pickleball? Padel racquet sport coming to West Palm Beach

Look out, pickleballers : There's a new sport coming to West Palm Beach , and it's not named after a food brined in vinegar.

Instead it's padel, a racquet sport that blends squash, tennis, racquetball and pickleball.

In September, the first dedicated padel complex in Palm Beach County is expected to open just north of downtown West Palm Beach, at 2025 N. Dixie Highway.

The site is next to the planned Olara condominium and apartment complex, and near the Nora entertainment complex, now under construction.

Padel Club co-founder Anders Sulisalo said the facility will feature one indoor court and three outdoor courts.

In addition, the complex will offer a luxurious clubhouse featuring a café, lounge and locker rooms. Some fitness classes, such as yoga or bootcamp workouts, also are planned, Sulisalo said.

"We want to introduce this sport to the community," Sulisalo said. "It's such a cool new concept for everyone."

Sulisalo said the sport is easy to learn and can be played at any ages and any skill levels. It's also easier on joints than other racquet sports because it is played on artificial turf.

When and where did the sport of padel originate?

Padel originated in Mexico in the 1960s and is popular worldwide, including in Sulisalo's home country of Sweden. During the past five years, interest in the U.S. has been growing, too, including in South Florida. Several clubs are planned or opening in Miami.

Padel is typically played in doubles on a smaller court enclosed by glass walls. The court has a net but is smaller than a tennis court and requires an underhand serve.

Sulisalo said he's targeting fitness-oriented residents of West Palm Beach, Palm Beach and other communities.

While padel is a great workout, it's also a very "social sport," and Sulisalo hopes to create an environment where people can gather before and after games, he said.

The cost to play at Padel Club isn't yet determined, but Sulisalo expects fees will vary seasonally.

He's also planning to build other Padel Club locations elsewhere in the county, including Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens and Delray Beach.

Padel Club comes at a time when new residential complexes in West Palm Beach, including Olara, are targeting residents who want a luxurious but fit lifestyle. Among the condo's perks: A 13,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor fitness center, spa and two swimming pools.

Even new office buildings being constructed downtown, such as the One Flagler office tower, are creating large fitness center spaces for tenants.
