  1. Domane Isospeed Decoupler Fail

Domane Isospeed Decoupler Fail. I have a question about the Isospeed decoupler on my 2015 Trek Domane 5.2. Recently I noticed that the decoupler was not dampening the ride like it used to. When I took it into the LBS for service they said they could just replace it and it would be fine. Once they got it apart they said that it had corroded most ...

  2. Rear isospeed decoupler creaking issue : r/TrekBikes

Grease :-) Use carbon grease for the seat post and 'normal' for the isospeed. I've spent weeks trying to find where the crackling noises came from on my Emonda SL7 & Checkpoint, turned out to be the stem on my Checkpoint and the saddle itself on my Emonda. Simple disassembly, cleaning and greasing did the trick! 1. Reply.

  3. IsoSpeed Decoupler Maintenance?

InBlack. 11 posts · Joined 2012. #20 · Aug 4, 2015. Glad I came across this thread in my search for IsoSpeed Decoupler issues. I've been having a pretty consistent "click" coming from the Decoupler for a good time now. It's definitely the decoupler (I've been able to recreate the noise while off of the bike).

  4. Domane Isospeed Decoupler Fail

IsoSpeed rides with the power transfer and handling characteristics of a traditional carbon frame but with noticeably more compliance. There is no weight penalty, it requires little maintenance, and the frame is included in Trek's industry-best limited lifetime warranty. If you can find a problem with IsoSpeed, we would love to hear it.

I have a 2015 Domane 5.2 (carbon with the seat tube decoupler only) which replaced my Fuji SST. I ran 25s on both bikes and I definitely notice a difference with the decoupler. Much better ride, and the rear is a lot calmer when descending. I want to trade up to one with both the front and rear decoupler.

  6. Trek Domane Isospeed Creaking

April 2015edited October 2016 in Road general. I've got one of the early Trek Domane 2.0 (delivered 2013). On recent rides, I've noticed it creaking an awful lot, particularly when seated, on the drops powering over some of the smaller lumps in the lake district. I've been able to reproduce the noise whilst stationary by 'bouncing' on the saddle.

  7. Hans Trek fixed the IsoSpeed issues? : r/DomaneCrew

Went to the service this morning as I bent chainring on my domane and since I am on the rev 2 I asked them the same question. Since Jan 2023 they have sold over 1000 units of Domane sl5 and sl6 (same frame basically just different groupset), and had total 4 of them back with this issue, all resolved within 5 days. 3 needed to have decoupler replaced, one just bit of a tweaking and greasing.

  8. Trek Domane SLR headset / front IsoSpeed decoupler creaking

Edit: Completely solved now. I narrowed down the creaking noise to the spacers above the handlebars, under the cap. I believe the creaking is the spacers moving against each other and against the step and cap. Others troubleshooting this might want to try some lithium grease between their spacers.

  9. Trek Domane SLR headset / front IsoSpeed decoupler creaking

After I submitted the frameset for warranty, the mechanic discovered that two spacers that are supposed to be inside the isospeed decoupler were missing. Trek puts the blame on the supplier of the frameset. Now, after installing the stem, I noticed that there's a 1.5mm-2mm space underneath the cone spacer (photo attached) which was not there ...

Lombard. I have a 2015 Domane 5.9, nearly 4 yr old now with 21,000 miles. I bought it because my 1999 Trek 5200 has performed almost flawlessly for about 38,000 miles. My 2015 has been kept in a humidity controlled environment for its entire life and obsessively k ept clean, although not routinely brought into a shop.

  13. Trek iso speed decoupler help : r/bikewrench

Trek domane bike with iso speed has seized bearings. Ordered a new kit with bearings but can't figure out how to swap. It looks straight forward like it's a push fit device as there are no screws holding the decoupler in place but for the life of me can it figure out.

1 post · Joined 2016. #1 · May 24, 2016. Hello, I'm having a hard time disassembling the IsoSpeed Decoupler. On removal of the two outer pivot bolts the seatstay is basically loose. But it will only move a few millimetres horizontally. Also it is not possible to pull the rubber insert out (with a reasonable amount of force) - it seems to be ...

  16. Looking For Opinions On Trek Domane's Isospeed : r/bicycling

The local asphalt bike trail has some pretty bad transverse cracks. I'm mainly trying to determine how significant this Isospeed decoupler is, because my budget ideally would land me on simply an AL2 (no Isospeed), for ~$850. If I wanted to get even just a rear Iso, I'd have to start at ALR4 or SL5 if I wanted both rear and front.

  17. What is Trek IsoSpeed Technology?

IsoSpeed is one of the most mature road "suspension" systems out there, debuting in 2012. The Trek IsoSpeed system has two components: The IsoSpeed Read Decoupler is a essentially a "hinge" that sits between the seat tube and top tube of the bike. On IsoSpeed equipped bikes the seat tube and top tube are not physically attached but are ...

  20. Trek Front Iso-Speed Decoupler : r/bikewrench

The mechanic is likely not properly familiarized with the correct adjustment of the front isospeed. On almost every other threadless type headset, you tighten the topcap to a relatively light torque and then fasten the fixing bolts on the stem. With Front Isospeed, you tighten the topcap to about 4Nm (wayyyy more than a typical topcap).

Hope that things work out better than they are looking right now for the OP and his problem with the LBS/Trek. I live in a very popular recreational bike use area. 23. How much of a difference does IsoSpeed make? : r/TrekBikes

If you're not running a carbon seatpost already, you'll notice a lot more as well. So the answer is yes and no, it's a nice to have. You can set up IsoSpeed to be more or less compliant depending on the terrain you ride. FYI Not all models have adjustable IsoSpeed. The Domane SL5 doesn't but the.SLR model does.
