Flash forward to this monster tour in support of 2016's "Hardwired ... to Self-Destruct" album. The average ticket price is nearly $100, and you're more likely to be sitting in a football stadium's nosebleed seats than crackin' ribs in a mosh pit.

The tour was set to promote his previous album, Changes , and begin on May 14, 2020, in Seattle, but the tour was postponed amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Every date was rescheduled twice and the Justice World Tour officially began on February 18, 2022, in San Diego, but concluded on September 4, 2022, in Rio de Janeiro. After it was announced that the remaining dates of the tour would be postponed, Bieber's team formally announced that they would be cancelled.

During the last quarter of 2019, especially in December, Justin Bieber started teasing his musical comeback via his social media. On December 20, Bieber tweeted that something was going to happen on the December 24, December 31, 2019, as well as on January 3 and 4, 2020. Justin’s team approached us with their storyboards, and from those, we were able to start planning our work around their specific vision. In order to complete such an ambitious task we previs’d every shot down to the detail. From the camera moves: to lighting, down to every asset. Taylor Swift: ‘The Eras Tour concert film has become the highest-grossing concert film of all time, earning an impressive $180 million domestically since its debut on Thursday, October 12.

Among the list of the top-grossing concert films at the domestic box office are the recently rereleased Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé , storming in with a &21 million opening weekend gross, Talking Heads concert film Stop Making Sense,  J ustin Bieber: Never Say Never,   Madonna: Truth or Dare ; U2: 3D and BTS, with three of the latter’s films making it onto the Top 20 chart.

Eras Tour had its premiere on October 11 in Los Angeles, where 13 theaters at the AMC venue at The Grove were dedicated to hosting the premiere of the concert film. It surpassed $100 million in ticket presales and became the second highest-grossing film of all time in the month of October. Globally, it’s first-week global gross was $123.5 million.

The “Eras Tour” is Swift’s sixth concert tour, characterized as a musical journey through all of her diverse “eras.” Paying tribute to her various albums, the tour represents her most extensive undertaking to date, spanning 146 performances across five continents.

Justin Bieber Details Massive North American ‘Purpose’ Tour

Justin Bieber has announced an expansive tour behind his upcoming fourth LP, Purpose . Spanning major markets across the U.S. and Canada, the singer’s 58-date North American trek kicks off March 9th, 2016 in Seattle and concludes July 18th at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden. 

American Express cardmembers can purchase advance tickets for the U.S. shows starting Monday, November 16th at noon local time through Thursday, November 19th at 10 p.m. local time. General ticket sales for all shows will begin Friday, November 20th at 10 a.m. local time through the AEG Live website . 

Bieber teased the tour during his Wednesday appearance on  Ellen , but he had trouble remembering the jaunt’s start date. “I will start this tour … oh gosh, this is the only thing I had to remember,” he told Ellen DeGeneres, before assuring fans, “You can go to my website to find out.”

The announcement arrives two days before the November 13th release of Purpose , which features singles like the atmospheric “I’ll Show You,” tropical-flavored “Sorry” and soul-searching “What Do You Mean?”

Excluding the 2013 compilation Journals , Purpose is Bieber’s first album since 2012’s Believe . The lengthy tracklist features an array of high-profile collaborators, including Skrillex, Diplo, Big Sean (“No Pressure”), Travis Scott (“No Sense”) and Ariana Grande (the deluxe edition remix of “What Do You Mean?”).

Justin Bieber has entered the final stretch of his Purpose World Tour’s North American trek following a three-week break during a run through eight Canadian cities. A performance on June 11 at MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, kicked off the tour’s final six weeks on the road in the U.S. and Canada; it will wrap with a two-night stint at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on June 18 and 19.

The pop star tops this week’s slate of top-grossing touring artists (see list below) based on 11 sold-out concerts reported by national tour promoter AEG Live. From 145,774 sold tickets, Bieber added another $14 million in box office revenue to his overall tour gross that has now reached $70 million from 51 performances since the tour launched March 9 (in Seattle).

The venue with the top box-office stats in this week’s tally is Target Center, with $1,514,540 in ticket sales from a sellout crowd of 14,498 (June 19). The Minneapolis venue has the fifth-highest gross among all of the arenas that have hosted the tour for one show, led by American Airlines Center in Dallas with $1,563,920 in sales (April 10). The highest attendance count among the tour’s single-show dates was logged April 20 at KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky., with 16,496 fans in the house.

Following the Purpose World Tour’s North American stint, two Tokyo performances are on the books for August. Then, a three-month jaunt through European markets is set for this fall.

Also landing among this week’s top 10 tours is the Rock Paper Scissors North American Tour, starring co-headliners Sting and Peter Gabriel . The tour hits the road for five weeks this summer in the U.S. and Canada. The veteran English rockers kicked off their joint trek June 21 in Columbus, Ohio, followed by three more arena performances in Washington, D.C., New York and Toronto. Also included during the tour’s opening week were two of the six amphitheater dates on the itinerary: a June 24 show at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater on New York’s Long Island and a June 26 concert at BB&T Pavilion in the Philadelphia market. Box-office revenue from the first six markets on the tour schedule, reported this week by promoter Live Nation, reached $9.7 million from 86,654 sold seats at six sold-out performances.

Booked primarily at indoor arenas, the tour will visit a total of 19 cities through July 24. Included along with the tour’s arena and shed dates are festival appearances this week at the Quebec City Summer Festival (Le Festival d’été de Québec) and Milwaukee’s annual Summerfest.

MAY 6, 2022 – New York, NY  - Grammy Award®-winning global superstar  Justin Bieber announces his rescheduled world tour dates today. The tour was to kick off this summer but due to COVID-19 restrictions varying by state, the tour is being moved to 2022. The Justice World Tour 2022 is adding 7 new arena shows to total 52-dates. Justin returns to the road on the heels of the global #1 album Justice , his eighth album to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200.
