Although they offer some short breaks, Alfa Travel tends to concentrate on holidays of at least 4 nights duration. Most of their UK holidays are 4, 6 or 7 nights long. Their overseas holidays, which include a wide range of destinations in Ireland and the near Continent, vary from 4 to 11 nights.

The insurance offered by Alfa does not have any age restrictions and is very competitive. For the sale of insurance, they are an Appointed Representative of Wrightsure Insurance Services (Hampshire). Alfa Travel celebrates 30th anniversary with extensive choice of holidays

Alfa Travel has unveiled its new 2020 schedule featuring self drive and coach holidays to some of the UK’s seaside destinations and historic places, as well as European itineraries.

Castle Howard in York is one of the highlights among the 2020 tours. 

The holidays are fully bonded and have no hidden charges, including free local pick up points and free choice of seats on coach trips. Alfa Travel is owned by Alfa Leisureplex Group which also includes 22 resort-based leisure hotels to choose from when booking a trip.

Group organisers can make the most of different money saving options including up to four free places depending on the number of people booked onto the holiday.

New pick up routes have also been added to offer more choice for next year, such as the introduction of North and South Humberside routes incorporating Grimsby, Goole and Barton for the first time.

Helen Goggen, sales manager for Alfa Travel, said: “2020 marks an exciting time in Alfa’s history as we celebrate being 30. We will be running a series of fam trips and party nights in 2020 to raise more awareness of our fantastic hotels and holiday packages for new and existing groups.”

What to look forward to next year

Alfa will provide a range of 38 new destinations and 23 itineraries within the UK, eight new river cruises and 11 new itineraries in Ireland and Europe.

Highlights for the celebratory year in the UK include York & Castle Howard, Teignmouth, Aberdeen and Cambridgeshire.

The Italian Lakes, Wild Atlantic Way, Waterford, Cork and Seine River Cruise are among some of the stand out trips in Europe.

At busier times this rises to five evenings per week.

We always enjoy the journey down to…

We always enjoy the journey down to the iles of whight, never had to stop at keel before. Driver was good although he never really engaged with my self and my husband even when we said high no eye contact was left feeling we had irked him in some way. Although when we past areas of interest he told us all where to look my husband bid farewell to Tommy he did not acknowledge him which upset my husband as we had just tipped him.

Hotel location and views are amazing

Hotel location and views are amazing. Hotel staff, rooms and meals excellent, always go the extra mile to make your stay excellent. Robert our Driver was exceptional, very knowledgeable, pleasant and very kind to clients needing help. He was a very safe pair of hands driving our coach .

Imperial Hotel

Just returned home from a fabulous week at the Imperial Hotel in Ilfracombe. The staff were polite and courteous, and nothing was too much trouble, food was very good and plentiful, the hotel was clean throughout, room was spacious, entertainment was good and lovely trips out. Driver Phil was excellent !!

We recently stayed at the Queen's…

We recently stayed at the Queen's Hotel, Eastbourne. Cannot fault the hotel for service, particularly in the dining room. Our only criticism would be the number of pick up's prior to getting on the main coach, We were number 2 of 7, which is far too many as it makes your journey so long. We then ended up travelling North to the feeder point, only to then double back on ourselves to then travel south.

Route taken was wrong

To add further information to my review. Our driver Brett, said he had never been to Tenby, so he would not know the route that he took via Abergavenny, and over the Brecon beacons via the A road would be such an arduous route and very long too. The alternative to stay on M5 and take M4 at Bristol going over the Severn Bridge would have been far more sensible. As one who has relatives in Swansea and drive both routes regularly Brett just didn't seem able to see his route was wrong.

Celebrating our 56th Wedding Anniversary

The hotel was really nice and our room was lovely with a posh bathroom with a large shower. All the staff were exceptional and were very attentive to our needs. It was our 56th Wedding Anniversary while we were there and we were presented with a card, chocolates and a bottle of Fizz which was really nice. The entertainment was also exceptional and helped to make our week away even more enjoyable.

Holiday to Bognar Regis, Norfolk Hotel.

The hotel and staff were good the entertainment was good. Unfortunately the driver and coach were not. Jack's attitude left much to be desired. The coach wasn't an ALFA liveried vehicle and wasn't as comfortable as we have come to expect. We missed the last days trips because of the weather.

Scottish Highlands Fort William.

Just returned from a fabulous break up in the Scottish Highlands. Derek our driver was very professional, great commentary, facts and recommendations. The scenery up there is quite amazing. Croit Anna Fort William hotel was a fantastic base to explore the area. Upgraded to a loch Linney view & a double room for single occupancy, worth every penny. I would recommend this to everyone, especially single travellers.

Always a Good Holiday with Alfa

We had a lovely holiday the hotel was good the food good and the driver excellent. The trips we were on were well organised and nothing went wrong with us being there at the right time to catch the steam trains. The handovers at South Mimms seem to go with precision organisation.

Another great holiday from Alfa

Another great holiday from Alfa, from getting on the coach, you don't see your luggage till you get to the hotel room. Comfortable coaches, comfort breaks. Hotels are usually older well established and in a prominent position in the resort, with great views, staff very helpful food pretty good and great tours out, seeing places you wouldn't normally see. Great for single people, you soon make friends

Our driver to Porthcawl from Angies…

Our driver to Porthcawl from Angies Tours was extremely helpful. The chef at the hotel was very helpful ( onion intolerance) the salmon Pasta, I’ve had it other hotels, this was 100pc better. The food generally was cooked more to our taste. Very good service meal times

Excellent coach driver

Terry our coach driver went out of his way to make this an enjoyable break. He even organised quizzes for the evenings because we were miles from anywhere and unable to walk into a village . He also rearranged the itinerary and added other stops when the weather stopped us going to the planned excursions.

Newquay holiday

Alfa travel company was a first big hit for us. Our fantastic friendly driver nigel went the extra mile and beyond. Hotel met all our needs and requests with two people that are disabled in our party. We will definitely consider travelling with alfa again.

Isles of Arron & Bute

Isles of Arron & Bute Monday, August, 19th 2024 - Friday, August, 23rd 2024. We had a fantastic five days at the Wiilowbank Hotel, Largs the weather was raining & windy. Departing 09:45am we were on our way up to Largs, we stopped at Moffat for lunch. We arrived at the Willowbank Hotel, Largs at four o'clock. The company on the coach were fantastic, made Friends quickly. There was 47 passengers on the coach. Kev Knight our driver was fantastic he made the holiday with his witty sense of humour and his knowledge of the area. He got us where we were going safely. No 1 driver my opinion. Thank you Kev. The management at the hotel made you welcome, they were very friendly, the rooms were very clean. The waiter and the waitress were very helpful, the meals were good. Thank you to Paul the manager & Jasmine The trips out were Glasgow & Mount Stewart House, Isle of Bute Overall It was a fantastic holiday, the weather was windy & raining but we had a great time. the driver Kevin was a star …

the driver Kevin was a star knock fishguard off the list nobody was interested waste of time and cost of fuel the Hotel was excellent,the staff made sure we were happy,meals excellent best of all no washing up

Excellent experience

Everything was excellent the travel arrangements the hotel and staff as Nd the location. The only criticism I have is the excursions were the same as when I went in October maybe you could vary them a bit.

The coach driver was great, very pleasant. The hotel room & staff were also good. However the restaurant was lacking. Opening was sometimes late. Not very well organised & would have worked better if people were seated at the beginning of the week as in Alfa hotels. People were almost running to get something on a table to "reserve" it.

I recieved an email from Alfa stating that if I book early deposits are £25 with no single supliment. So I booked and I had to pay £50 ! Deposit not £25. And I had to pay £89 single supliment !!! Why advertise things that don't happen, I have been scammed.

Brilliant holiday with Alfa to Dublin ☘️..

Yet another brilliant coach holiday with Alfa👍, this time we choose Dublin ☘️. We stayed at The Hamlet Court Hotel and although it's an hours drive from Dublin we couldn't fault anything about it, the food was superb and the staff were so very attentive. We very much enjoyed the Guided City tour of Dublin and also the full day tour to Wicklow Mountains and our visit to Newbridge Silverware. Our coach driver Dominic was so entertaining and most certainly knew how to keep his passenger happy 😊.

Kære Heine. Vi har haft en rigtig fin tur til Wien. Meininger Hotel i Colombusgasse er et virkelig godt hostel, som i høj grad kan anbefales. Jeg / vi vender tilbage vedr. studietur til næste skoleår – forhåbentlig kort tid efter påske.

Skirejse til Neukirchen

Tak for en god tur til Østrig – alt fungerede efter planen.

Vi aftalte med ejeren af Venedigerhof, at vi gerne ville tilbage til stedet til næste år. Hun kiggede i sin kalender og fandt plads fra lørdag den 4. februar til onsdag den 8. februar. Vi nævnte for hende, at vi gerne ville bo i Haus Moosen. Kan du lave en tur der ”matcher” disse oplysninger.

Studierejse for lærerkollegiet til Bremen

Det var en kanon god tur til Bremen – godt planlagt og gode udflugter – god mad og et utrolig godt sted fredag aften hvor musikken var helt i højsædet. Nu ved jeg godt at det ikke er jeres fortjeneste det med ølfest i Bremen, men det endte helt vildt festligt og godt. Tak for en dejlig tur.

Skolerejse til Berlin

Vi har haft en rigtig god tur i Berlin. Rejsen har på alle måder levet op til forventningerne. Det være sig jeres (din) meget gode service, busselskabet vi rejste med og ikke mindst den meget centrale placering af og selve opholdet på “De tre små grise”. Vi havde en super-tur med sol og 20 grader de første 3 dage. Museerne er af høj kvalitet.

I skal som rejsebureau have stor ros for at levere en rettidig og effektiv dialog om rejseideer, justeringer ift. at en klasse skal af sted samt give tryghed, når der skal undervises i en storby.
