Suri Cruise is now 18 and she looks exactly like mum Katie Holmes

Suri Cruise is officially all grown up and enrolled in college — and she couldn't look more like her mother, Katie Holmes .

As the new school term begins, students worldwide are moving into their new digs, including Suri Cruise, who was spotted over the weekend with her twin mother moving into her new dorm: Pittsburgh's Carnegie Mellon.

One of the last times we saw the mother-daughter duo out and about, Suri was still 14. It was still peak COVID time, so they were sporting face masks that hid their resemblance.

However, Suri and her mom were spotted on various occasions over the weekend, and it truly feels like we've travelled back in time and are witnessing Katie Holmes in the '90s.

Suri has always had a lot of Katie in her, as evidenced by the pic below, but it's genuinely gotten uncanny now that she's 18. (You can check the photos here and here .)

Growing up to be your mom's own doppelgänger seems to be a trend among celebrities. Suri Cruise, the 18-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, went to her high school prom on the Upper West Side of Manhattan on Tuesday — and she looked like a carbon copy of her famous mom.

The 2024 LaGuardia High School graduate wore a gorgeous white and purple floral dress with a pair of gold heels. Suri wore her brunette hair down and had a white and pink corsage on her wrist.

Her prom date wore a fancy navy blue suit with a light blue tie and a pair of brown shoes.

Earlier this month, Suri who is a senior at the famed LaGuardia High School of Music & Arts and Performing Arts, revealed that she’s going to college at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this fall.

She appeared in a fellow student’s TikTok , which has since been made private, of all the kids wearing sweatshirts from the colleges they are attending.

Suri had on a red Carnegie Mellon sweatshirt and did a cute dance for the camera.

“LaG commitment day,” the caption of the TikTok read.

Suri lives in New York City with her mom. She’s reportedly been estranged from her father for years.

In 2023, a source told Page Six that Tom, 61, “has not seen” his daughter “in a very long time and is not a part of her life.”

Holmes, 45, and Tom welcomed Suri in April 2006, but after the former couple  split in 2011 , the “Mission: Impossible” actor and his daughter drifted further and further apart.

However, Suri has stayed extremely close with her mom.

The “Dawson’s Creek” actress told  Glamour  magazine last year that she likes to “protect” Suri from the public eye “because she was so visible at a young age.”

“I’m very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She’s an incredible person. She’s my heart,” Holmes added

On Friday, Suri received her diploma from LaGuardia High School in a ceremony held at United Palace, a theater in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood. Her famous mom was there to celebrate the moment, and beamed with pride as she hugged her daughter and posed for photos.

Holmes looked chic in a cream long-sleeved polo and tan pleated trousers, which she paired with shiny silver kitten heels, tortoiseshell sunglasses, and a beige Celine handbag. In pictures obtained by Page Six , 18-year-old Suri can be seen wearing a red graduation gown over a summery white midi dress. The teen carried a matching red graduation cap in her hand as she walked down the street in strappy gold heels with a red floral detail.

Suri’s estranged father , Cruise, did not attend the event. Instead, he was spotted at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour show in London. According to Page Six, Suri seems to have dropped her famous father’s last name entirely, going by “Suri Noelle” in the graduation ceremony’s pamphlet. As previously reported , the two have not spoken in several years due to Cruise’s long involvement with the Church of Scientology.

But Suri is incredibly close with her mother. The duo can often seen exploring the city together, wearing coordinating outfits and grabbing coffee. “You’d struggle to find a mom-daughter duo who are more in sync with each other. They’re a real team—their connection is a beautiful thing to witness,” an inside source told US Weekly in 2020.

Katie Holmes is celebrating her mini-me daughter Suri Cruise 's birthday with some rare pictures.

To celebrate her daughter turning 15 on Sunday, Holmes, who is famously private about the teen, posted three Instagram photos of Suri taken throughout the years. Homes shares the teen with ex-husband Tom Cruise , to whom she was married from 2006 to 2012.

In one of the pictures, Holmes cradles her look-alike daughter in arms. In another, Suri smiles for the camera while giving mom a big hug.

"Happy 15th Birthday Sweetheart! I love you!!!!!!!!" Holmes wrote in the caption. "I can’t believe you are already 15!"

Other stars gushed over the cute photos in the comments.

"Happy birthday," commented Viola Davis, adding a heart emoji.

"Happy happy 15th!!" wrote "Good Witch" star Bailee Madison. "Can’t believe she is 15 now. All my love to you both"

Though Holmes is known for keeping her daughter out of the spotlight, the "Dawson's Creek" star, 42, opened up about bonding with Suri during the coronavirus pandemic  in her November cover story for Vogue Australia .

"Hobbies such as sewing, painting and writing became new hallmarks of satisfaction and having had time at home to just be," she wrote. "To listen. To live for a moment in time without the pressure of results and instead appreciate the natural rhythms of mother and daughter was the most precious gift."

Holmes also recalled how spending time with a friend with a young child made her reminisce about raising Suri.

Katie actually talked about her daughter becoming a teenager back in August 2017. She said on the Today show, “She is 11 and a half and she’s a great girl and she’s doing so well and I’m enjoying this time … I’m not so worried yet about the teenage years.”

But that was a while ago! Now, Suri’s turning 14, which is obviously quite the milestone.

Suri’s mom seems to keep her too busy to get into too much trouble, though. They actually visited a refugee camp in Greece in March 2019. How many teenagers can say the same?

Because photos of Suri are not all that common, everyone is always curious which of her famous parents she’s shaping up to be the most like. A source told Radar Online in November that she’s turning into a Tom mini-me.

An insider told the online outlet, “Suri is morphing into her father’s image in more ways than one, and it’s even taken Katie by surprise. It’s not just her features – Suri’s personality is becoming more like Tom’s every day.”

The source further claimed that Suri is “meticulous about her diet and what she eats and how much, and she’s even started to get into her exercise. She’s quite bossy and likes to prove her point with over the top gestures, too,” which Radar compared to Tom’s own behavior and mannerisms.

Suri Cruise Is All Grown Up After 18th Birthday as She Steps Out With Mom Katie Holmes in NYC

The teen was spotted with her mom in the Big Apple, both wearing coordinating denim for their outing.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes ‘ daughter, Suri Cruise , turned 18 earlier this month and is spending time with her mom, 45. The mother-daughter duo were recently spotted in New York City together following Suri’s birthday.

On Monday, April 22, Suri stepped out carrying what appeared to be an iced coffee alongside Katie, according to photos published by Daily Mail . For their day out, the teen wore a red maxi dress with a long denim overcoat and brown boots. As for Katie, she chose a pair of dark denim jeans with a green long-sleeved shirt for the outing.

Suri is rarely seen out in public. Up until now, she was legally a minor, and Katie preferred to keep her daughter away from the spotlight. However, the Coda actress shared a rare childhood picture of Suri to her Instagram in May 2021 in honor of Mother’s Day at the time. The image featured a then-toddler-aged Suri as Katie kissed her cheek.

“I am so grateful to be a mom to the sweetest daughter,” Katie captioned the post. “Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms!!!!”

The former Dawson’s Creek star previously opened up about being a famous parent to a young child during a 2017 interview with Town & Country. While noting that this “business is so unstable, and you never really know where you’re going to be,” Katie explained how she made sure to protect Suri’s childhood.

“My child is the most important person to me, and her upbringing is paramount to my work right now,” Katie said. “It’s very important that I’m present and she has a stable, innocent childhood. I feel so blessed to do what I do, but there’s nothing in the world better than watching your child succeed.”

As for Suri’s dad, Tom, 61, was recently seen at Victoria Beckham ‘ s 50th birthday party over the weekend. The Mission Impossible movie star was reportedly seen breakdancing at the soiree, which was held in London.

Born on April 18, 2006, Suri Cruise is Katie Holmes and megastar Tom Cruise's only child together. After her parents divorced in June 2012, Suri was primarily raised by her mother in New York City. Holmes ensured her daughter's life was kept private and out of the spotlight, with the actor telling  Town & Country  in 2017, "It's very important that I'm present and she has a stable, innocent childhood." Although Suri has been called the spitting image of her father, the latest shot of the teen proves otherwise. In 2023, Suri turned 17, and it's clear that as she's gotten older, she's become  Holmes' mini-me .

Now a young woman, Suri looks exactly like her mother did when she starred in "Dawson's Creek." Holmes was 18 when she began working on the hit '90s series, and Suri's straight brown hair and messy updo parallel one of the many looks Holmes' sported on the show. The two also share a gaze, eye, and lip shape. Simply put, a teenage Suri is teenage Holmes' twin. Unsurprisingly,  Holmes is said to have an incredibly close relationship with her daughter . It's no wonder that the two even dress alike.

Suri Cruise has a similar style to her mother

Although she's a massive celebrity, Katie Holmes has admitted that she enjoys dressing casually when she's not at work, telling  Glamour , "I think we all want our sweats." With this in mind, the "Dawson's Creek" star is often pictured in jeans or wearing a T-shirt and sneakers. Like her mother, the photos above show that Holmes' daughter, Suri Cruise, has no problem flaunting a relaxed look. With dark sweatpants and a red T-shirt, Cruise looks like an average teen rather than someone with two of the world's most famous parents. 

However, these are not the only similar outfits the two have rocked. In December 2022, Holmes wore a Y2K-inspired outfit on the red carpet that featured a mini dress over jeans and sneakers. Months later, Cruise was pictured wearing a long denim skirt with black sneakers that screamed throwback. In 2023, the mother and daughter looked more like sisters while wearing laid-back airport outfits, per  Page Six . The pair wore sweats and sweaters paired with dark shoes. Despite dressing lowkey, both Holmes and Cruise are known to be fashionistas, and the teen reportedly plans to study fashion. 

Cruise perhaps looks to her mother in "Dawsons Creek" for fashion inspo. Holmes told Glamour about her daughter's style, "I think the '90s style is exactly back. Makes me feel old. We lived through that already! My mom says she should have saved things. I should have saved things."

Suri Cruise is looking more and more like her mom, Katie Holmes . On Thursay, Cruise was spotted out in SoHo, photographed after getting a smoothie.

The 16 year old, who is the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, was photographed wearing a white tanktop, some sweatpants and blue converse shoes. She carried a sweatshirt and was listening to music.

Suri shares a striking resemblance to Katie Holmes, who’s often spotted in the city carrying out her daily business and attending a variety of events. Earlier this month, Holmes attended the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of her new movie “ Alone Together .”

Holmes attended the premiere alongside Bobby Wooten III , her boyfriend, and celebrated the debut of the film, which she starred in, wrote and directed. The film premieres in theaters in July 22nd.

“Alone Together” is a romantic comedy, following two people who accidentally book the same AirBnB during the start of the Covid lockdown, having to ride out the first weeks of the pandemic together. It co-stars  Jim Sturgess, Zosia Mamet, Melissa Leo, Luke Kirby and more. It’s Holmes first acting role since the 2020 film “ The Secret ” and it’s the second feature film she’s directed.

Suri Cruise: From Throwback Photos To NYC Outings With Mum Katie Holmes

Where has the time gone?

On Sunday May 9, the actor posted a black-and-white photo of her kissing her daughter's cheek as a baby. In the snap, Cruise can be seen looking directly to camera and covering her mouth with her right hand while her mother gives her a big smooch.

'I am so grateful to be a mum to the sweetest daughter. Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mums!!!! [sic]' Holmes captioned the photo.

The actor rarely shares photos of her daughter to Instagram, apart from the occasional snap of her at specific milestone moments in her life, like on her 15th birthday last month.

Cruise lives with her mother in NYC and the pair are regularly spotted out and about together, looking more and more alike with each passing day.

Last September, the teen was seen on an outing in the Big Apple with her famous mother while grabbing some frozen yoghurt.

For the walk in the city, Cruise wore a pair of black flared jeans, white trainers and a white cardigan, while her mum wore a pair of green sliders, light-coloured jeans and a cream knitted jumper.

The pair coordinated their looks in patterned face masks during the Coronavirus pandemic.

In a recent interview, the former ELLE UK cover star opened up about her bond with her teenage daughter.

‘I love her so much,’ Holmes told InStyle .

‘My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality. To make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident, and able. And to know it. She came out very strong — she's always been a strong personality. She'll pick an activity and work her butt off until she's really good at it. Then she's like, "OK, I'm going to try the next thing." She's very focused and a hard worker.'

Speaking about the press intrusion on their lives, the actress continued, adding: 'I did recently see some fan site [about her] posted when she was a baby.

‘And it was very intense. We were followed a lot when she was little. I just wanted her outside, so I would walk her around to find parks at six in the morning when nobody would see us. But there's one video where I'm holding her — she was two at the time — and she starts waving at the cameras. She's pretty special.'

In 2019, Holmes told ELLE UK that she and her daughter ‘kind of grew up together’, noting: ‘I was happy to become a mum in my twenties... It’s been nice that our ages fit… how do I put this? Every age that my child has been and my age at that time has been a good match.’

Holmes was married to actor Tom Cruise for six years until 2012. In 2013, it’s believed she began dating Collateral star Jamie Foxx but the pair split in 2019, despite having never gone public with their romance. The star is now in a relationship with restauranteur Emilio Vitolo Jr .

SURI Cruise has shown her striking resemblance to her famous mom, Katie Holmes, in new photos of her out and about in New York City.

Photos captured the 18-year-old spending time with a friend before heading to college this fall.

In them, Suri strolled down the sidewalk sporting blue denim overall shorts, with one strap unbuckled, exposing her black crop top underneath.

She paired the look with black flip-flops, a green shoulder bag, and her long brunette hair in a messy bun.

Suri smiled quite a bit during the outing, showing her near-spitting image appearance to her mother.

Katie , 45, shares Suri with her ex, Tom Cruise , 62, who has been estranged from the teenager since she was a kid.

Tom didn't publicly support his daughter during recent milestone events, including her 18th birthday in April and her high school graduation in June.

NAME CHANGE

Suri seemed unfazed by her father's absence in photos of her enjoying the final weeks of summer , though she's made it clear that she cut him out of her life.

For one, Suri listed her name in her graduation pamphlet as Suri Noelle, her middle name, completely nixing the last name she shares with her dad.

She went by the same name in May when she performed in Head Over Heels on  Broadway .

Her legal name, however, has not been changed, and her last name is still Cruise.

It's unknown what name Suri will refer to herself as in college, as she's reportedly studying design at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

Katie has kept her only daughter primarily out of the limelight, while Tom appears to aim for the spotlight.

Last week, the actor pulled off a wild stunt at the 2024 Summer Olympics closing ceremony in Paris, where he scaled down the Stade de France to hand off the Olympic flag to Los Angeles, where the athletic event will occur in 2028.

Part of the handoff included a pre-taped video, recorded in March, of Tom riding a motorcycle to the Hollywood sign.

Tom is known as a daredevil in the industry, as he generally performs his own stunts in his numerous action movies.

The 18-year-old hasn't seen her father since her mom, actress  Katie Holmes , divorced him when she was five.

Katie, 44, gained sole custody of Suri in 2012 and a generous settlement from her ex-husband.

Many fans believe that the reason behind the split was Tom's association with the cult-like religion of Scientology.

After the divorce, Katie went off the grid with her daughter as they rebuilt their lives in New York, 2,400 miles away from the action star.

The actor has been accused of putting his religion before his daughter, with ex-Scientologists claiming he has been ordered to shun the Dawson's Creek star and their child as non-believers.

High-profile former church member Samantha Domingo, daughter-in-law of opera singer Placido, said in 2019, “You can’t be anti-Scientology if you’re part of Tom’s family, you will be disconnected — look at his daughter Suri.”

She added that the church, which believes mankind is descended from an alien race of gods, viewed Suri “as a spiritual being in Tom’s daughter’s body."

Despite his estrangement from the teen, the Top Gun star has remained in contact with his two older children, Isabella, 31, and Connor, 29, — who are both heavily involved in Scientology.

Tom adopted the two while married to his ex-wife Nicole Kidman, who has also allegedly been cut from their lives as a “suppressed person” — SP — someone who does not believe in the church.

Meanwhile, Katie and Suri live a much quieter life in New York and seem to like it that way.

Tom and Katie were Hollywood's "It" couple in the early 2000s, as they got engaged shortly after they met.

They welcomed Suri in 2006 and tied the knot months later in Italy .

However, their marriage didn't last, as Katie filed for divorce from Tom six years after they had exchanged vows.

The same year, Katie shared a photo of herself with a very young Suri who had the sweetest bob haircut with a fringe.

Tom Cruise’s daughter Suri is going by a new last name.

At her graduation Friday from LaGuardia High School in New York City, the 18-year-old opted to give her name as “Suri Noelle” instead of Suri Cruise; she also used that name earlier this year when she appeared in a high school production of the jukebox musical “Head Over Heels.” Noelle is the middle name of her mother, Katie Holmes.

The “Risky Business” actor appears to have skipped Suri’s graduation weekend to hang out instead Saturday with all the celebs at Taylor Swift’s Eras tour in London , where he is filming another “Mission: Impossible” installment.

Holmes and Suri didn’t seem bothered by his absence on graduation day. The mother-daughter duo, perhaps eager to “shake it off,” were seen giggling and taking photos together outside of the graduation venue in celebration of Suri’s achievement.

Suri was born in 2006, just before her parents tied the knot. TomKat stayed together until 2012, when Holmes filed for divorce , but Cruise was plagued by rumors that he had abandoned Suri in the process. In a 2013 defamation lawsuit filed by Cruise against Life & Style and In Touch publisher Bauer Publishing, the “Mission: Impossible” actor said, “The assertion that I ‘abandoned’ Suri after my divorce is patently false. I have in no way cut Suri out of my life — whether physically, emotionally, financially or otherwise.”

Cruise said he and Suri, who was then 6, “spoke on the phone nearly every day” and that he “regularly asked for and received updates concerning her friends and school life.”

Cruise is also the father of Bella, 31, and Connor, 29, whom he adopted with Nicole Kidman when they were married. Last year, he was photographed in public with Bella and Connor, reportedly for the first time in 15 years.

Katie Holmes had a proud mum moment as she shared a heartwarming update about her daughter Suri Cruise.

The 45-year-old American actress has one daughter from her romance with Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise. They married in 2006 but later divorced in 2012. Although 18-year-old Suri has grown up in the spotlight, Katie rarely talks about her relationship with her in the media, choosing to keep most of their family life private.

However, Katie couldn’t help but share her pride following her daughter’s recent accomplishment, revealing that Suri is preparing to leave for college. In a rare interview about her private life, she told Town & Country magazine: "I'm proud of my daughter, Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy."

She also added: "I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that. The members of my book club are going to get annoyed hearing from me," she laughed. "I’ll be like, 'Let’s meet once a week.'"

Katie, known for her role as Joey Potter in Dawson's Creek, also revealed it had taken a bit of convincing to get daughter Suri to watch the show. "She has seen Dawson’s Creek, and I think it’s probably weird since she’s a teenager,” Holmes told Variety in March 2023. "I’m not like, 'You need to watch mommy's work.' But during the pandemic, we had a good laugh about it. It’s wild to have a daughter who’s almost the same age as I was when I began all this."

Katie and Tom had their only child together in 2006, just before their wedding. Following his divorce from the actress, Tom has been romantically linked to several stars including Hayley Atwell and Shakira. But he has yet to marry again.

It was reported back in 2016 that Katie was under a five-year restriction from publicly dating after finalising her divorce from Tom - although had begun dating movie star, Jamie Foxx in secret. The pair were a couple for six years before their split. According to a strict contract between the pair, Katie was prohibited from "letting her boyfriend near their daughter."

A source told Radar Online in 2016: "She's allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she's not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri." By agreeing to this clause, Katie reportedly received £3.6million in child support and £3.8million for herself.

According to recent reports, Katie secretly began dating Oscar winner Jamie, 49, in August 2013 after they performed together at a charity gala in New York. However, she had first met him at a football match seven years prior introduced by Tom, 55, who had befriended the Ray actor while filming the 2004 movie Collateral.

If there's one thing I remember about the '90s hit teen drama Dawson's Creek , it's Katie Holmes 's character Joey Potter's wardrobe. Defined by blue jeans, classic white tanks, and tube tops paired with bandanas, Potter's style fell somewhere between tomboy and girl-next-door.  

More than 25 years later, Holmes's outfits still nod to her Dawson's Creek days—and now, even her teenage daughter, Suri Cruise, is taking her fashion cues from Potter's playbook. Case in point? On Friday, the 18-year-old was spotted taking a summertime stroll in New York City, wearing a Joey Potter signature: overalls. 

Placing a modern spin on her denim dungarees, Cruise's shorts version came in a medium wash and were worn half undone, exposing her black crop top with spaghetti straps underneath. She accessorized with a pair of black flip flops, a blue canvas tote, and silver jewelry. And while Cruise's outfit was all Joey, her glam copied her mom's minimal approach to beauty, with the teen haphazardly throwing her brunette hair back into a messy bun and putting on little-to-no makeup. 

Earlier this week, Holmes revealed how she's coping with her daughter leaving for college this fall while speaking with Town & Country . “I’m proud of my daughter," Holmes said of Suri, who is reportedly attending Carneige Mellon University in Pittsburgh. "Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy." 

"I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that,” she continued, before jokingly adding: “The members of my book club are going to get annoyed hearing from me. I’ll be like, ‘Let’s meet once a week.'"

Tom Cruise Pays $65,000 Tuition For Estranged Daughter Suri’s College Education After She Drops His Last Name

Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise is paying the $65,000 annual tuition for his 18-year-old daughter Suri to attend Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

Suri, Cruise’s only child with ex-wife Katie Holmes , was recently seen moving into her college dorm with the assistance of her mother, who divorced Cruise in 2012 after six years of marriage. Despite Cruise’s lack of relationship with his daughter, he has always been diligent in covering Suri’s educational expenses, such as her current university tuition.

This financial support stems from the divorce agreement between Cruise and Holmes, which stipulated that Cruise, 62, would be responsible for covering all of Suri’s schooling costs, including medical, dental, insurance, education and college. In addition to the tuition payments, Cruise was also required to provide approximately $38,000 annually in child support to Holmes. However, these payments likely ended when Suri turned 18 earlier this year.

At the time of the divorce, Holmes and Cruise’s representatives issued a statement that emphasized that despite their separation, they were “committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in… Suri’s best interests,” and intended to support “each other’s roles as parents.”

However, Holmes reportedly felt the need to protect Suri from Cruise’s Scientology religion, and recent reports reveal that Cruise has been estranged from Suri for the past 11 years.

Cruise reportedly is the one who has chosen not to see Suri for most of her life. The two’s last appearance in public together was in 2013 and Suri has since dropped her father’s last name and adopted her mother’s middle name, Noelle.

Suri’s move to the Carnegie Mellon campus represents a significant transition, as she leaves behind the luxury three-bedroom apartment she shared with her mother in favor of a college dorm experience. Suri is reportedly eager to embrace the full college experience, such as having a roommate, as she embarks on this new chapter of her life.

PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA: Even though Suri Cruise and her father Tom Cruise reportedly do not get along, the Hollywood icon continues to pay for her college education, as he had promised to do years ago.

An interesting financial arrangement has surfaced as Suri, 18, begins her academic career at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania's Carnegie Mellon University .

According to a friend of Cruise, the 'Mission Impossible' star is paying his daughter's college expenses, which come to about $65,000 a year.

Suri began her freshman year of college by moving into her dorm on August 20 with the help of her mother, Katie Holmes . The 18-year-old is scheduled to start school on August 26.

As part of the terms of the 2012 divorce settlement between Cruise and Holmes, the Hollywood action legend is solely responsible for covering Suri's educational costs.

According to the divorce agreement, Cruise is required to bear the entire expense of Suri's "medical, dental, insurance, education, college and other extracurricular costs," per Daily Mail .

With this agreement, Suri would be able to follow her academic goals without worrying about money.

A source close to the 'Top Gun' actor said, "Tom is indeed paying for Suri's tuition, he has always paid for her schooling and would never stop as he is a stand-up guy."

"He has never hesitated paying his daughter's child support and expenses. He does not go back on his word. He is fulfilling his obligation," the source added.

Given that Suri has become a legal adult, it's noted that Cruise's $38,000 yearly child support payments to ex-wife Holmes will probably no longer be made.

Suri becomes carefree as father Tom Cruise pulls out his wallet

The relationship of estrangement counterbalances the financial assistance. Cruise and Suri have not been seen in public together since April 2013, suggesting a serious breach in their father-daughter relationship.

The 'Top Gun: Maverick' actor's failure to appear for his daughter's first day of school in 2012 sparked rumors about Cruise and Suri's possible separation, per The List .

Suri appears to be trying to break free from her father's famous last name, evidenced by her recent choice to take on her mother's middle name, Noelle, rather than Cruise.

It looks like Suri's time at Carnegie Mellon will be very different from her childhood in New York City. She is going to embrace the college lifestyle and share a dorm room in an all-female residence hall.

"Suri wants the full college experience so she is giving the dorm rooms a try and she will have a roommate. She is excited for a new chapter in her life," an insider revealed to Daily Mail.

The youngster will reside in a basic dorm room rather than mom Homes' three-bedroom luxurious apartment in a high-rise in New York City. Suri is reported to stay at Scobell House, which can accommodate up to 88 female students.

Holmes has alluded to her daughter's interest in the performing arts, although specifics on Suri's chosen field of study are yet unknown. Holmes said in an interview with Town and Country magazine that Suri might be thinking about going into show business after college.

"I'm proud of my daughter," Holmes told the website, expressing her delight in her daughter's accomplishments. "Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I'm really proud of her and I'm happy."

The young Suri has already dabbled in the entertainment industry by lending her voice to songs in two of her mother's motion pictures, 'Alone Together' (2022) and 'Rare Objects' (2023).
