Trip of a lifetime in Vietnam

Where do I begin. Probably one of the most incredible experiences Iā€™ve ever had. After reading lots of positive reviews I had high expectation, but they were absolutely met and exceeded. Our group leader Luka was a gentleman and a legend. He made our tour a special experience for everyone. We got to see all the best parts of Vietnam from north to south. All our local guides were friendly and insightful. The accommodation was luxurious and some cool unique spots along the way like jungle bamboo cabins. The activities included were incredible. I could not recommend a trip to Vietnam with feel free enough

Thank you Ash and Charlotte for being fantastic group leaders and for making it an enjoyable and smooth journey. Would highly recommend!

King Timothy

A brilliant trip, organised wonderfully by our group lead Tim! He was always on hand to help out, and couldnā€™t say a bad word about him! The 2 week Thailand trip was a good mix of culture and nights out, we got to see some beautiful parts of the country! Would 100% recommend to all

5th of August Bali 24'

I was just on the 5th of August 24' trip in Bali with Tia and Jake. They were the most amazing group leaders they focused on both ensuring everything ran smoothly while also making everyone feel welcome and safe. They both spent time getting to know everyone on an individual basis. The activities were all amazing, such a good range of activities to suit all interests and ability. I can't begin to process or put into words how magical my trip was to Bali and this was down to Feel free and the amazing group I met. I went solo and I was fearful of not making friends and I can now safely say I've made both memories and friendships that will last me a lifetime. To anyone thinking of Bali or what company to go with, Do it and do it with Feel Free you won't regret it. Thank you again Tia and Jake, Karen x

Thailand 15 days BOOK NOW !!!!

AMAZING! I am writing this review sat in Chiang Mai airport on the way home and we are devastated to be leaving ā˜¹ļøā˜¹ļø !!! Me and my best friend booked this trip and we traveled together - we did the Thailand 15 day trip and met some of the most amazing people and had the best experiences ever with an amazing group leader Tim!! I felt very much looked and cared for with still the freedom of being adults and having our own adventures as well as a group. Plenty of ā€˜down and free timeā€™ as well as amazing highlights such as Elephants, cooking class, temple hikes just to name a few !! I would recommend for anyone solo or 2 friends looking to travel together! We were able to share a room and any problems with rooms or wanting to know what to do on our free time Tim was more than happy to help us !!! So many memories and friends made for life ! I cannot recommend this trip enough, to the point our tour now wants to all book Vietnam together!! A big shout out to Tim as well he did an amazing job and we loved him as our group leader !! We will miss you very much and hope to see you again !!

Where do I begin?? From start to finish the tour, the guides Tia & Jake and the group were top class!! Highly recommend feel free travel! I had an amazing time on the feel freeā€¦

I had an amazing time on the feel free tour, it was so well thought out and organised and a really good value for money taking into account all the activities, transport, accommodation and the meals that were included. The accomodation we stayed in was nearly all very luxury, so if youā€™re more a travel in style person then this trip is for you. Just as much for you if you love culture, adventure, beaches, the trip has everything! And I couldnā€™t have asked for better people to share the experience with. Big shout out to Jake and Tia for being amazing, on it group leaders !

We're pleased that you had such a good time. Please catch up with us soon on a future Feel Free Travel tour. Thanks for the review!

This trip made me feel like I could just let go. I didn't have to plan, I didn't have to organize, I didn't have to think at all. That for this trip helped me relax and also the tourguide Will was able to create a very safe and trustworthy atmosphere. It always felt like someone is watching out and has everything handled.

The best trip

The best trip! So many fun and amazing things I wouldā€™ve missed otherwise! Huge shoutout to our awesome group leader Tim, he went above and beyond for us!!

Absolutely worth it!

Started this trip in Thailand and finished in Vietnam, what an amazing experience! I met so many different and amazing people but all with the same goal, to travel and have fun! I was able to sit back, wake up in the morning and everything was planned out in advance for the next activities/location without lifting a finger! My only remark would be that there was quite a bit more travelling in Vietnam than there was in Thailand, so we moved around a lot which was slighlty tiring towards the end but totally worth it! Group leader Luka was super helpful and funny (thank you for all the gym locations!). Overall really really recommend, amazing first FF trip and certainly not my last!

5 stars isnā€™t enough starsā€¦

5 stars isnā€™t enough stars to show how incredible this trip has been. From day one our group leaders Jake and Tia were welcoming, easy going, experts in everything to see, do and eat and made the trip just the best time ever, we couldnā€™t thank them enough and would try and book on another with them as leaders, just stunning people. We came as a couple and made so many friends along the way. I cannot recommend this enough, Feel Free have smashed the group tour vibe.

You definitely would not get the same experience if you did this by yourself! Thank you for this amazing experience, I will definitely book feel free again in the future, but for nowā€¦..on to BALI!!

Outstanding

I arrived home a few days ago from travelling around Thailand and Vietnam with Feel Free Travel on their Best of Asia tour. Words cannot describe the experience from start to finish. I had such a brilliant time in Thailand with a lovely group and our group leader Beth that I left a 5 star review just before I arrived in Vietnam. I couldnā€™t see how Vietnam would even compare- yet the moment I landed and my group leader Charlotte came to collect me to meet the rest of the group, I knew I was going to have another amazing 2 weeks. Charlotte was amazing, such a kind, caring, funny person who immediately put us all at ease. I also feel extremely lucky that I was part of her final group tour and wish her all the best for the future. The accommodation was nothing short of outstanding, the local guides were friendly and enthusiastic, the food and company were incredible. The activities varied from kayaking, hiking, and doing pottery to nights out, food tours and tai chi. I was pushed out of my comfort zone in the best way possible: I would never have done surfing or sandboarding only for the fact I was in such good company, and never felt judged or pressured to do anything I didnā€™t want to do. Travelling with Feel Free Travel was the best decision I have ever made as a first time solo traveller. It exceeded my expectations in every way and I made friends from all around the world. I would go again in a heartbeat!

Unforgettable Experience

I recently completed the 15 day Thailand trip with Feel Free Travel and I can confidently give it 5 stars! From start to finish, the trip was well organised, leaving us with nothing to worry about except enjoying the experience. The tour guide, Will, was out-standing- friendly, fun and full of energy which really set the tone for the group. Speaking of the group; we all got on brilliantly, and it felt like travelling with friends rather than strangers. The activities were diverse and exciting, from stunning temples to vibrant night markets. I really felt as though I got a flavour of the best Thailand has to offer! One aspect I particularly appreciated was how well everything was looked after. There was no need for any personal planning. Every detail was handled smoothly which made it really stress-free! I would like to mention a couple of things for future travellers to keep in mind. Firstly, this trip does require a moderate level of fitness. Thereā€™s lots of moving around, including some physically demanding activities like hiking and water sports. While it was absolutely worth it, I would recommend that anyone considering this trip be prepared for a fair amount of physical activity. Additionally, the itinerary is quite packed and there is not a lot of downtime. If youā€™re looking for a holiday with lots of relaxation, this may not be the perfect fit. That said, the schedule meant we got to experience so much more of Thailand than I expected which was a huge plus for me. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience and Iā€™d highly recommend for anyone looking for an adventure-packed holiday to Thailand! Thanks Will for everything!

Genuinely 5 Star - Sign up right now!

At the time of writing, there are 1,443 reviews. Of these only 29 are anything other than a 5 star ranking - and even then, 24 of that 29 are still 4 stars! I was initially suspect just because I don't think I've ever seen a Trustpilot rating as positive as this... having now had the experience I don't think it's positive enough! I went on the 15-day Vietnam tour. As a 30 year old, I was looking for a tour company that was able to provide a "young" experience (without being purely party), that offered good value for money and varied activities, but crucially higher quality accommodation rather than staying in unattractive/low-grade hostels that other companies use to keep costs low. This is exactly what Feel Free Travel was able to provide. All the hotels were top quality of 4 stars or more - meaning nice double beds, gyms, rooftop bars and pools, beachfront properties etc - and were in prime locations whichever city/town we stayed. In terms of the schedule, the balance was perfect. There was an excellent mix of active (hikes/bike rides, kayaking, sandboarding), culture (walking tours), nights out (pre-paid drinks/entry), skills (cooking/lantern making classes) and - possibly most importantly - down time. There were several afternoons "off" so you could recharge and feel excited about the next event. All the transport was perfectly timed and private hire (the latter being a MASSIVE plus). Traveling whether part of a group or on your own can be quite stressful purely down to organising transport. Having this part managed for you means all you need to do is enjoy being ushered by the group leader as and when you need to move - an underrated positive that means you can completely focus on the fun! Charlotte was my group leader and there is not one thing that she did that was not perfectly judged or arranged. She was incredibly kind and did a great job engaging the group from the off. The moment I landed she was already making me laugh and feel welcome which completely settled any initial nerves. She was supremely fun and, honestly, I can't praise her enough. It's a pleasure to say that I was her final group before she moves on. TLDR; Feel Free Travel have seemingly unlocked the secret recipe for an unforgettable experience, so I implore you to end your search for a tour operator and just go ahead and book with Feel Free right away! I will definitely be travelling with them again. Now, a message to the Founder... Matt... please get a Japan tour on the menu ASAP!!

Amazing experience

This trip is amazing and Feel free travel company knows exactly how to make it great. Perfect organization and so many experiences of all kinds, incredible hotels and activities. Amazing tour leader who was always available, funny and friendly. And of course so many lovely and interesting travel buddies.

Best time to visit Asia: weather and climate

Best time to visit Asia

It is not easy to specify the exact time to visit Asia as a whole due to its vast geographical expanse. Climate and weather vary according to the differences in the regions. The best time to visit Asian countries is during the dry (March to June) and cold (December to February) seasons. While planning your trip, try to plan according to the country and region you are visiting. For instance, you can visit Cambodia anytime during the year, and it is best to visit Indonesia either between January to March or June to September. Explore Asia by country, to learn more about the best time to visit specific places in Asia, such as the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.

Things to know before you travel to Asia

Is it safe to travel to Asia?

Most Asian countries are safe to visit

Most parts of Asia are safe to visit and I felt safe in every Asian country I've visited. However, you may confront delays, cancellations, scams, thieves, and other such problems in most parts of Asia. You have to take care of yourself and your valuables like money, credit or debit cards, gadgets, and bags while traveling. Some of these precautions can help you while in Asia. Try to avoid walking on isolated roads and streets at night: in Flores, someone tried to rob our handbag. Carrying a money belt is helpful to avoid being the prey of bumps and grabs as well as pickpockets. Try to split your money and keep them in different places. Store expensive items in the locker of your hotel or hostel. While traveling on local buses or metros, you can have your bag in front of you. Always follow local rules and respect them as offending the natives can, at times, causeĀ

What is the Currency in Asia?

Currency in Asia

Though many countries in Asia accept the US dollar , it is always safe to keep the local currency as cash in your hand. Some of the countries in Asia that take the US dollar are Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam . You must know about the exchange rates as it will help you keep track of the money spent. Another essential thing regarding currency is to always carry your debit or credit cardĀ in Asia . E-wallets for payments are another great way of making transactions while traveling. Though most ATMs in Asia accept foreign cards, the withdrawal charges can be high. It is always better to withdraw a bulk amount based on the requirements or visit an exchange office. Having backup currency with you is necessary as in rural areas, online or card transactions are not always possible.

Tipping in Asia

Tipping in Asia is encouraged in most places

Tipping is encouraged in Asia . However, in some countries, the natives consider it impolite. In China, Singapore, and Malaysia, people don't give tips in local shops and restaurants. But, in western restaurants and luxury hotels, you can provide around 10% of the bill as a tip. Even in high-end restaurants in Singapore, it is better to tip no more than 10% of the bill. In many Asian countries, there is a service charge of 10-15%. In such places, tipping is not necessary. However, in some countries like Vietnam and Thailand, service charges are not collected. So, it is essential to give a 10% tip. In these countries, you can also tip in dollars.

Responsible Travel and Tourism in Asia

Sustainable Tourism in Asia

It is pertinent to ensure that we consider future generations while traveling. Sustainable tourism is a way of traveling where you care for the ecosystem and resources. You can travel responsibly by bringing some changes by relying on shuttle buses, trains, or metros for traveling from one place to another. Opting out of laundry services is also a way to travel sustainably.Ā  Overtourism in Asia is a significant issue. From 2005 onwards, Bali has been implementing sustainable tourism measures. Vietnam is another country that focuses on green tourism. You can always travel sustainably by opting for eco-friendly tour operators and accommodations. You can always participate in eco-friendly programs like Angkor Wat Marathon.

Required vaccinations for traveling in Asia

Vaccinations to be taken while traveling to Asia

Vaccinations for Asia differ across countries. The WHO and CDC provide a list of vaccinations that one has to take before traveling to Asia. Getting vaccinations can act as a great preventive measure. In most parts of Asia, travelers are often affected by Yellow Fever and Cholera. Other vaccinations to be taken are for Measles, Hepatitis, and Typhoid.

Do I need a Visa for traveling to Asia?

Visa while traveling to Asia

Many countries in Asia provide on-arrival Visas and e-Visas . The need for a visa while visiting Asian countries depends on two factors. They rely on your nationality and the duration of your trip. Several countries in Asia allow tourists to travel visa-free if they are planning for a short-term visit (15 to 30 days). India, Cambodia, and Vietnam offer e-visa options for travelers. In countries like China and Japan, a visa is mandatory regardless of your nationality. It is always best to cross-check with the official websites of the countries before planning your trip.

The Discoveries Of

17 of the Best Places to Visit in Asia – Epic Tours, Hidden Gems & More

Ready to discover the best places to visit in Asia? From the historical Angkor Wat to the sprawling city of Seoul, these are the top destinations to consider.

I reckon that Asia might just be the most fascinating continent. Mainly because of the sheer amount of culture, food, landmarks, and attractions that make this part of the world so unique.

Donā€™t believe me? Itā€™s one of the only places where, one minute, you can be strolling through an ancient temple, and the next youā€™re hitting up a Chanel store.

Aside from that, the eclectic cuisines alone should be a reason to visit – Iā€™m talking about Sri Lankan curries, Korean fried chicken, and Chinese dumplings, to name just a few drool worthy dishes.

But, narrowing down where to travel in Asia can be daunting. With so much choice, how do you pick? Well, allow me to show you my favourite places in the continent, and you might just be able to choose your dream destination. Or not.

Top 5 Places to Visit in Asia

Luang prabang.

Luang Prabang

Letā€™s kick off my guide to the best Asian places to visit with the continent’s best destination in recent times: Luang Prabang. This beauty boasts a glowing reputation due to its fascinating natural features and numerous Buddhist temples.

If cultural immersion enhanced by tranquillity and picturesque sights is what you’re after, you don’t need to look any further. Beyond Luang Prabang’s aesthetically pleasing facade lies more to discover, and an exciting opportunity to learn more about the Lao culture.

Speaking of which, the Lao culture centres around the simple pleasures of life: socialising, eating, drinking, and sleeping. Sounds like heaven, right? Get a taste of that with this highly recommended tour .

The top thing to do in this Laos city is to visit the enchanting Buddhist temples and shrines ā€” such as the Wat Xiengthong or Wat May Souvannaphoum temples.

Top Tip: When entering a Buddhist temple, remove your shoes and never sit down with your feet facing a Buddha statue.

Angkor Wat + Siem Reap

Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat hardly needs an introduction, but for those still in the dark, this is the largest religious monument in the world. Itā€™s impressive in size, and its glorious Indian-rock cut temples, magically reflecting on the waters, are a sight to behold.

Located in Siem Reap, Cambodia, this temple complex is a time capsule for the previous Khmer empire that lasted from 802 CE to 1431 CE. Siem Reap is a Southeast Asian jewel boasting a bustling food scene, lively cafes, and incredible nightlife, making it ideal for backpackers and expats.

With this Angkor Wat tour , you can watch the stunning sunrise light up the intricate details of the temple, then do some more temple hopping from Siem Reap.

Grand Palace Bangkok

Another destination you need to visit – Bangkok offers a unique blend of cultural tradition and modernity, making it one of the best places to travel to in Asia.

It’s – quite literally – heaven on earth for foodies with world-class cuisine, and a hit amongst history buffs with no shortage of historical landmarks. And let’s not forget Bangkok is well known for its vibrant nightlife and laid back atmosphere.

Visiting Bangkok’s bustling markets should be on your itinerary. Khaosan Road Market allows you to find the tackiest trinkets with lively cafes and impressive second-hand bookstores to wander through. Bangkok is full of fun markets, so I suggest taking this tour to multiple markets and temples.

Looking for hidden gems in the city? You’re just a short distance from the Caturday Cat Cafe, where kittens greet you as you enter. Awwww.

You didnā€™t think I could write a guide to Asia without including Japan’s capital city, did you?

Tokyo ranks as one of the top places to visit in Asia for many reasons. Aesthetically pleasing, its neon-lit skyscrapers and exquisite historic temples are a feast for the eyes. This is a city where futuristic technology meets millennia-old traditions.

This giant metropolis boasts an astounding number of restaurants, museums, and markets to keep you entertained. The busy sakura tree-lined streets lead to shrines, temples, and towering wonders such as the Tokyo Skytree and Shibuya Crossing.

Better yet, immerse yourself in pop culture, anime, manga, and video games, then indulge in Japanese cuisine (sushi, anyone?). Oh, and a visit to Ichiran for a bowl of ramen is non-negotiable.

There are things to do in Tokyo that you won’t find anywhere else. Ever tried cosplay go-karting or eating at a robot restaurant? That’s not all, though. It’d be a shame to miss out on the spectacular TeamLab Planets Digital Art Show or an intense Sumo wrestling tournament.

Hong Kong

Despite tumultuous headlines in recent years, Hong Kong is one of the best places to visit in Asia and boasts an extensive array of attractions and annual festivals.

Some of the top attractions in the city include Tian Tan Buddha, Ocean Park, Victoria Peak, and Hong Kong Disneyland. Better yet, the country has superb public transportation allowing you quick access to shopping sprees and visits to museums and landmarks.

Dine at the many renowned restaurants of Hong Kong, such as Sai Kung Seafood Street and Tim Ho Wan, to name a few. First-time visitors will enjoy this private tour to take in all the glitz and glam of the city.

And once you’ve had enough of the concrete jungle, you can head to Hong Kong Park for a tranquil escape featuring tai chi gardens and charming water features.

Brilliant Places in Asia to Visit

Beijing, China

Beijing is a sprawling capital that oozes modern architecture but still respects its ancient sites, including the grand Forbidden City complex. Renowned for its lush gardens, parks, pristine temples, and palaces ā€” your camera’s bound to work overtime.

With a cheap and efficient transport system, safe and tourist-friendly atmosphere, visiting Beijing is a no-brainer.

Beijing is one of the world’s oldest cities, meaning you won’t want to forgo visiting museums and historical landmarks. I suggest making your way to the Beijing Folklore Museum if you’re interested in traditional Chinese mythology.

Asian countries are famous for their epic street food, and Beijing is no exception. Some must-try street food is the Beijing pancakes, steamed buns, fried dumplings, and, brace yourself: fried insects.

Bukchon Hanok Village in Seoul, South Korea

Seoul is more than just a pretty face – itā€™s one of the best places in Asia to visit. Donā€™t believe me? Itā€™s where old meets new, where fashion, delicious food, fascinating culture, advanced technology, and friendly citizens combine to create one hella cool destination.

Seoul has notable landmarks, stunning skyscrapers, eclectic shopping malls, pristine royal palaces, and Buddhist temples, though itā€™s better known as the birthplace of K-pop and home to BTS, one of the largest K-pop bands in the world (you’re welcome, ARMY).

One of the best things to do in Seoul is to indulge in the street food markets – Myeongdong is one of the best places to visit in the evening and I urge you to try the meat-filled Mandu and sweet delight that is Hotteok.

Located in one of the best Asian countries to visit, you’ll enjoy the high-tech subways and futuristic Dongdaemun Design Plaza if you’re a sci-fi fan. History buffs will also feel at home with places like the Gyeongbokgung Palace and the National Museum of Korea.

Osaka, Japan

Japan is one of the best countries to visit in Asia, so I’ve added another of its spectacular cities here: Osaka. It’s truly a special place thanks to the outgoing and extroverted nature of the locals. Having drinks and something to eat is another level of fun in Osaka.

One could argue that Osaka is Japan’s street food capital, and takoyaki and okonomiyaki are two snacks you must try. Visiting the Osaka Castle, Umeda Sky Building Floating Garden Observatory, or Shitennoji Temple might be touristy, but they’re fantastic.

Meet the likes of Popeye and Shrek at Universal Studios Japan, or head over to Dotonburi, a buzzing square filled with countless shops and restaurants.

Hanoi, Vietnam

Hanoi is hands down one of the best places to visit in Southeast Asia for its picturesque beauty and endless fun and entertainment. It’s Vietnam’s second-largest city, boasting rich culture and camera-worthy architecture.

The Old Quarter is Hanoi’s beating heart, where the narrow streets lead you to enchanting temples and XuĆ¢n Market, a haven for foodies and shopaholics. With so many options, you cannot go wrong with these attractions: The Perfume Pagoda Buddhist Temple, Water Puppet Theatre, and Imperial Citadel of Thang Long.

Some non-touristy activities and places to consider are Hanoi cooking classes, craft beer tasting, visiting Tay Ho (West Lake), and embarking on a countryside tour .

Wat Phra Singh, Chiang Mai

Next up: Chiang Mai, the largest city in Thailand, located in the northern mountainous regions of the country. It’s home to hundreds of detailed, ancient Buddhist temples and two tribal villages.

Apart from visiting the beautiful ancient temples like Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chedi Luang, you can step into the jungle and visit an elephant sanctuary with this guided tour (beware: seriously research your animal sanctuary excursions as many are exploitative).

And if you want to scratch going to the highest point in Thailand off your bucket list, you can with a fantastic tour featuring stunning cascades and scenery.

Top Tip: I suggest exploring the outskirts and indulging in local food for a more authentic experience.

Kathmandu Valley, Nepal

Kathmandu is Nepal’s capital city, nestled in a valley surrounded by the Himalayan Mountains. If that doesn’t sound intriguing enough, this cosmopolitan city’s mediaeval aesthetic, temples, shrines, and religious monuments might draw you in.

From its many temples and monasteries to unearth, the Pashupatinath Temple and the Changu Narayan stands out due to the mesmerising religious artworks. As for things to do in Kathmandu, you have many choices.

You can head to the top of Swayambhu (or monkey temple) for breathtaking sweeping views over the city. Then you can explore Bhaktapur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, filled with excellent sites to discover.

Kandy, Sri Lanka

Another top destination in Asia is Kandy. This city sits in the heart of Sri Lanka (one of my favourite places to visit), surrounded by majestic mountains.

Kandy is also no stranger to a plethora of sacred Buddhist sites, including the iconic Temple of the Tooth (yes, the sacred tooth of Buddha).

As the home of Buddha’s sacred tooth, it’s clear how Kandy became a top pilgrimage destination for many Buddhists. But the city is not only famous for its religious relics, but its biodiverse rainforests and extensive tea plantations are noteworthy too.

Kandy is a hit among backpackers and those seeking out spiritual awakenings. The enchanting botanical gardens, and joyous festivities, such as the Esala Perahara, could warm up any traveller’s heart.

Unique Things to See & Do in Asia: Hidden Gems That are Off the Beaten Track

Railay Beach

Here is where we start to diverge from all the big cities and uncover the hidden gems of Asia. And my first pick is Railay Beach, one of the most beautiful places in Asia. Also known as Rai Leh, this small peninsula in Thailand is every avid beachgoer’s dream come true.

Nestled between the city of Krabi and Ao Nang, your only access to this gem is via boat. The peninsula sports glimmering limestone cliffs jutting high above azure waters, allowing visitors to enjoy rock climbing and diving.

It’s the perfect spot to relish a fiery sunset, catch a tan, or enjoy beach activities in a laid-back atmosphere.

Ubud's Temples

Perched on the uplands of Bali is a picturesque town that is every photographer’s dream. Ubud’s famous landscape has many admirers, but its traditional crafts and dances will also captivate your heart.

Surrounded by thick rainforests and rice paddies, you can only imagine how mythical it looks when you stumble upon hidden temples and shrines dotted all over. One of the top things to do in this area is visit the Sacred Monkey Forest, which you can explore with this amazing private tour .

The scenic Saraswati Hindu Temple is worth a visit, and youā€™ll get to snap some beautiful pictures of the lotus pond. And if you’re up for a tranquil walk through nature, the Campuhan Ridge Walk is the answer.

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

The Raja Ampat islands are an Indonesian archipelago just northwest of West Papua.

It might be a little tricky to get to these islands – youā€™ll need to fly from Jakarta or Makassar to Sorong – but its remote location offers visitors a sense of seclusion and peace. Not to mention it’s magical to look at.

Known for its coral islands and crystal clear waters, you’ll want to dive right in (and the water is the perfect temperature too). Lazing on the beach might take up most of your time while there, but you can also try and fit in some fun activities.

How does scuba diving, snorkelling, or a hike up Pianemo for splendid views sound? And when you’re tired from all the adventuring, a relaxing stroll through one of the quaint villages allows you to connect with locals.

Palawan Philippines

Palawan is a surreal and dreamy island in the western Philippines .

It’s truly a tropical paradise boasting limestone cliffs with lush greenery and unspoiled white-sand beaches to enhance its beauty. Then there are the crystal-clear aquamarine waters that beckon you to take a paddle.

The island has exotic wildlife, bright coral reefs, and quaint fishing villages to explore. If you were wondering about fun activities, look no further – thereā€™s plenty on offer.

You can dive in Barracuda Lake, go island hopping in Balabac, and swim in the Kayangan volcanic lake on Coron Island, to name a few. Rated as the best island in the Philippines by many, you have more than enough reason to see it up close.

Paro Taktsang (Tiger Nest) in Upper Paro Valley, Bhutan

Paro is a picturesque valley town in Bhutan laden with many sacred sites and historical landmarks. Out of the many famous temples, the iconic Takhtsang Lakhang (also known as the Tiger’s Nest) takes first place because of its importance in Bhutanese culture.

If you aim to avoid skyscrapers and shopping malls, you’ll find that Paro’s lush green landscapes and ancient architecture offer the perfect getaway. You can learn more about the caves in historical Tibet by visiting the Taktsang Monastery and the National Museum of Bhutan.

Top Tip : Remember that Paro’s airport is the “most difficult commercial airport in the world”, with only one runway and planes passing by 5,500 m Himalayan mountain peaks.

Amazing experience - Thailand!!!

We travelled to Thailand this August and our Group Leader was Will. It was my first time travelling this way and I would recommend it to everyone. From the first moment, they were waiting for us, we checked in and met the wonderful group. Will had everything very well organised and was in charge of explaining to us the planning of the day, what things we needed for the excursions of the day and he made sure we were okey and enjoying every moment, even in the ā€œfree timeā€ he gave us very good recommendations. I highly recommend the agency because they made us feel safe at all times and we were able to enjoy Thailand without worrying about the organisation of the trip. We will repeat for sure!!! Thanks Feel Free Travel, Will and the amazing group we had!

Best experience ever

Jamie and Jacob were amazing guides. They made the trip so easy and fun for the group. I was nervous booking onto a trip by myself but felt comfortable straight away because of Jamie and Jacob! The best bits were snorkelling in Phi Phi and visiting Khao Sok National Park. 100% recommend the trip to anyone thinking of doing it! Thank you Jamie and Jacob, miss it already!

GO ON THIS TOUR

Everything about this tour was fantastic from start to finish. The itinerary is very well constructed to make the days feel full but not tiring. It felt like longer than 2 weeks in the best way possible. Best parts for me were Khao Sok (wild elephants), Phi Phi, all the parties and group games we played, and most of all the elephant sanctuary. It was intimate and not at all rushed; everything you could ask for. Jamie and Jacob were amazing tour guides. They gave great recommendations, organized transportation so we never waited a second, and most of all were fun and engaging. The people on this tour are what put it over the top for me. This was an unforgettable experience with lifelong friends and memories. Book this tour!

Tia @ Feel Free

Tia Super organised, incredible prepared for any and all situations and extremely approachable and professional always. I enjoyed my time in Thailand massively and could not have wished for a better tour guide for my first tour guide ever. Stay strong, stay healthy, stay positive always and stay in touch. Thank you on a personal note for being so understanding and respectful when it was needed, it's extremely appreciated.

Trip of a lifetime šŸ„°šŸŒ…šŸŒŠ

I have just got back from the 12 day Bali trip and have had the best time of my life! I have never been abroad before on my own and as someone with anxiety and health problems I waa really nervous but as soon as I arrived Jake and Tia our group leaders were so supportive and kind from the start they made me feel welcome straight away and any anxieties were gone!..I loved that the tour is all planned for you so no stress! The activities included were a combination of active, cultural, fun, food and nightlife which was perfect. I couldn't believe how much amazing food, experiences and beautiful accommodation was included in the package and I did so many bucket list experiences in just 12 days like swimming with turtles, staying in a stunning hotel on a beautiful island, walking to a swimming in a stunning waterfall and seeing dolphins. The trip is also really flexible and Tia and Jake were really understanding and helpful if you need some time to chill or some of the activities are too much for you or just not your thing. I got on with everyone so well in the group and was a great mix of people. I've made some friends for life and am looking forward to seeing them again soon šŸ„° if you are thinking of booking a trip with feel free just do it you won't regret it!

Hey Elli. The best time of your life...what a statement! It's heartwarming to hear that you had such a good time with us exploring the best of Bali on the 12-day tour. It's great that our team was able to put your mind at ease on your first trip abroad. It sounds like their support was really appreciated. It's good to know that you enjoyed the mix of activities on the tour. Thank you so much for joining the tour and thank you for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review!

I had the best time on the 9 day Thailand tour! Jamie and Jacob were great guides and friends, and created a welcoming atmosphere from the moment I arrived. Having everything organised has been a great way to ease into solo travelling, and Jamie's advice has been so valuable! Would highly recommend this tour - my only regret was not doing the 14 day tour!

9 days in Thailand

I went into this trip with little to zero experience in traveling and this was my first international trip so I was kinda scared how its gonna work out but as soon as we met our group leader Jamie I knew we were in good hands. Both Jamie and Jacob were great and fun guys that knew what they were doing.I had one of the best vacations of my life in Thailand, there was so much fun activities to do that I probably wouldnt have done on my own and I met some amazing people there.I am only gonna recommend Feel Free Travel further to everyone I know My only regret is not booking the 15 days tour instead of the 9 days one. Thank you Jamie&Jacob and everyone from our group for an amazing time

The most amazing 10 days of Vietnam! šŸ‡»šŸ‡³

I booked my trip 3 days before I left and it was the best thing Iā€™ve ever done! Taking a risk and going solo travelling was the most amazing experience, I was lucky enough to be with a big group of people who Iā€™ll always share a special bond with because of the experiences we shared. Our tour guide Luka was amazing I couldnā€™t give him more credit for looking after everyone and just bringing the best vibe to each day, to cultural explorations, party nightlife, soundtracks and quizzes in the busses, to him carrying a pair of my trainers around because I couldnā€™t fit them in my bag šŸ¤£. If youā€™re looking for the perfect mix of culture but meeting amazing new people feel free travel is one you need to book with. You wonā€™t regret it! Thank you so much FeelFree x

What a great trip with Tim and Jimmy!

What a great trip with Tim and Jimmy! They really have this trip jam-packed with so many fun sights and activities. We were able to hit all the spots on my Thailand bucket list in just 2 weeks! As a first-time solo female traveller, it felt great knowing that all the spots we were checking out were safe and trusted. The accommodations were so well thought out and I loved that breakfast was included in all of them. Don't hesitate to book your trip with Feel Free it is a guaranteed good time!

15 days Thailand adventure !

Our 15-day journey through Thailand was nothing short of spectacular! We started in Bangkok to the serene beauty of Phi Phi, the cultural richness of Chiang Mai, and the laid-back vibe of Pai, this trip was a perfect blend of adventure, culture, and relaxation. Our tour guides, Jamie and Jacob, were the absolute best! They went above and beyond to make sure every moment was memorable, sharing their deep knowledge of Thailandā€™s history and culture, and always making sure we were comfortable and having fun. Their passion and enthusiasm were infectious. Traveling with a group of 15 people made the experience even more special. We created amazing memories together, from exploring stunning temples and indulging in mouthwatering Thai cuisine to embarking on thrilling adventures like island hopping in Phi Phi and hiking in the lush landscapes of Pai. Every destination offered something uniqueā€”Bangkok dazzled us with its vibrant markets and majestic temples, Phi Phi captivated us with its crystal-clear waters and pristine beaches, Chiang Mai enchanted us with its rich cultural heritage and night markets, and Pai provided the perfect escape into nature with its stunning scenery and peaceful atmosphere. This trip exceeded all expectations and left us all with a deep love for Thailand. A massive thank you to Jamie, Jacob, and the wonderful group of travelers who made this journey so unforgettable. Highly recommend this adventure to anyone looking for the perfect mix of culture, adventure, and fun. Can't wait for the next one!

Hey Shanice. It sounds like you and the rest of the group had an absolute blast on the 15-day Thailand trip! It's so nice to hear that Jamie and Jacob went above and beyond to make sure you were all taken care of and had an unforgettable experience. Creating new memories with awesome new friends is what Feel Free Travel tours are all about. Thanks for sharing some of your favorite moments from the trip. Please come back for another tour soon. Thanks for the great review!

Best way to experience Vietnam is with Feel Free Travel

Couldnā€™t recommend Feel Free Travel more! Iā€™ve just returned from the Vietnam North to South 15 Days and it was the best possible introduction to ā€˜soloā€™ travelling I could have asked for. Luka our tour guide made everyone feel included and although there was a set itinerary we were able to do what we wanted and give our input. The whole experience ran smoothly and my group had an amazing mix of ages and backgrounds. Everyone was there for the same reason - to make new friends and memories and it felt like weā€™d known each other for years! Thereā€™s a reason this company has so many good reviews - you wonā€™t regret booking this trip.

The best trip

The 15 day Vietnam tour was absolutely amazing, everything was so well organised especially transport down to the minute. The accommodation was unreal in every place and the activities planned were sooo much fun and something I wouldnā€™t have thought to book if I was solo travelling! Luka our tour guide was the absolute best he made sure everyone was having a good time 24/7, especially with his music selection he had a song for every possible scenario. Luka was definitely more everyoneā€™s bestie than tour guide and it made the trip so much better. For sure made some lifelong friends in the space of 15 days, canā€™t wait for the next onešŸ˜Ž

In 15 days of Thailand you can relax, learn a lot about the country, relax and get to see so many beautiful places. Tim and Jamie did a great job leading our group. Highly recommend!

Get to explore Thailand in the best way

Will and Danny are everything you want from a tour guide. Both of them make the experience unforgettable and super fun. The tour was complete and crazy fun. We got to relax, learn about the history of the country and see beautiful places. Recommend 100%

Great two weeks in Bali

I spent two week recently in Bali with group leader Charlotte. Overall it was a great trip, well organized with many different and varied activities to participate in. You get to visit a few locations in Bali which are definitely worth seeing. My Favorite's would be Ubud and Gili T island. My highlights of the trip would have to be swimming with turtles and the sunrise paddle boarding it was beautiful. Thank you for the trip and will definitely recommend to others.

Top class group travel

Highly recommend feel free travel for any first time solo travellers or solo traveller looking to join a group, itinerary and organisation second to none, great mix of 16 people came on our trip from all corners of the world, memories and friends made for life, our group leader Luka was so chilled out, more or less just one of the gang but at the same time well organised and caring for everyone. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.
