Barcelona cruise port is the largest in Europe! This bustling hub handles close to 3 million cruise passengers each year. With six sprawling terminals to navigate, having the inside scoop is key to a smooth start to your cruise adventure:
Barcelona Cruise Port Locations: Map & Directions
Barcelona cruise port’s WTC South Terminal enjoys a prime location, nestled right at the heart of the city’s vibrant waterfront and just a stone’s throw from the iconic Las Ramblas. The other terminals are less central and a 5 minutes’ drive away. The port is conveniently close to Barcelona Airport (El Prat), approximately 12 km (7.5 miles) away.
Depending on your chosen mode of transport, the journey from the airport to the port takes about 20-30 minutes on a private transfer to about an hour on public transport, depending on whether you get lucky with the train times! Jump straight to the section on transport options & approx. cost.
Port Addresses:
- Port of Barcelona D’Adossat Terminal , Moll Adossat, 1, 08039 Barcelona, Spain – for Terminal A, B, C, D and E
- World Trade Centre Barcelona , South Terminal, Moll de Barcelona, s/n, 08039 Barcelona – Spain – Note the North Terminal has been closed since Oct 2023 . The South Terminal is scheduled to be closed in 2026.
Always check your final cruise documentation for the most accurate and up-to-date terminal assignment. You can double-check your cruise terminal on your embarkation day on the official Port de Barcelona website here .
Currency: Euros
💶 Cash or 💳 Card in Spain?
- 💳 Card : I had no issues paying with card 95% of the time, from train tickets, local metro/bus tickets to restaurants, convenience stores and museums. Taxis also take cards by law in Barcelona.
- 💶 Cash : Smaller businesses, such as bakeries and market stalls will be cash only, so I would advise to carry some euros in cash. The Barcelona port shuttle bus is also cash only but the driver will have some change.
Language: Spanish
Luggage Storage : Want to ditch your bags before cruise check-in? Use Bounce, as there’s lots of locations around Barcelona. I used one opposite the Sagrada Familia and visited the cathedral with just my purse. Get US$5 discount on your first luggage storage with Bounce with my referral link (min $10 purchase).
Recommended Transport App : Citymapper is my go-to resource for navigating public transportation in Barcelona and I recommend it! Google Maps also works well too!
eSIM for roaming in Spain: For a great data connection without the huge roaming fees, use an eSim data pack from Airalo. I always recommend having a smartphone with a valid plan when you’re at port touring independently. Get US$3 off your first eSIM data pack from Airalo when you use ROXANN1666 when you sign up or apply it at checkout
Beware Barcelona’s Pickpockets! 📢
Barcelona is a vibrant city, but it also has a reputation for petty theft. It’s even been nicknamed as the “Pickpocket Capital of Europe”! Here’s a heads up to stay vigilant, especially on public transport and around crowded areas like the cruise port:
- Groups Targeting Tourists: Be wary of groups approaching you, especially on the metro. They might try distraction tactics while an accomplice attempts to steal your belongings.
- My Personal Experience: On my way to the airport on the metro, a group of 3 women targeted me. They circled me, with one attempting to distract me while another tried to unzip my purse. The third woman tried to corner me on the crowded metro. Thankfully, I was aware of these tactics and nothing was stolen.
- Protect Your Valuables: Keep your purse or backpack close to your body, preferably in front. Avoid leaving belongings unattended, especially near the cruise port.
By staying alert and taking some simple precautions, you can ensure your Barcelona adventure is filled with happy memories, not pickpocket woes!
Getting from Barcelona Cruise Port: Your Transport Options
1. official taxis & ride-sharing (uber).
- Fixed Fare Airport Transfer : A convenient option with a flat rate of €39 for journeys to/from the Barcelona Moll Adossat cruise port (includes surcharges).
- City Centre Pricing: Keep in mind that there’s no fixed fare for taxi rides from the city centre to the port.
- Surcharge Alert : A €4.30 surcharge applies to taxi journeys starting at the cruise port (to destinations other than the airport).
- Uber in Barcelona : While Uber exists in Barcelona, it’s less widely available than in the US. For simplicity, especially when coming from the airport, a regular taxi might be your easiest bet.
- Group Travel & Luggage Convenience : If you’re traveling with a group or have lots of luggage, a door-to-door private transfer offers maximum convenience. You can pre-book these independently or through your cruise line.
- Focusing on DIY : Since this guide is about DIY options, I’ll jump straight to the budget-friendly public transport section below!
- Barcelona’s Public Transport Advantage : Barcelona boasts an excellent metro and bus network, making it easy to reach the port. You’ll take the metro to the closest stop Drassanes and then connect with the €3 port shuttle bus, which takes you directly to your terminal.
- Traveling from the City Centre : Many cruisers arrive a day early for added security. If you’re departing from the city centre, public transport is a breeze. Check out my public transport hacks below for a seamless journey !
Public Transport from Barcelona Airport (BCN) to Cruise Terminals
Ready to set sail from Barcelona? Here’s how to navigate public transport from BCN Airport (El Prat) to the cruise terminals:
1. By Suburban Train & Metro: A Direct Route
The metro offers a straightforward option, especially if you’re traveling light. Take RENFE R2 Nord Line from the Airport Train Station (located outside Terminal 2 via covered footbridge) towards Passeig de Gràcia station. This journey on the suburban trip takes 27 minutes and leave the airport every 30 minutes. Once at Passeig de Gràcia, switch to the metro green L3 line towards Drassanes station. This leg is just 5 minutes. Buy an integrated ticket for €5.50 from ticket machines.
Both Passeig de Gràcia station (for the interchange) and Drassanes station boast lift access, so bringing your luggage is not an issue. From here, follow the tips below to reach the cruise port shuttle bus stop or your desired terminal.
Flying into Terminal 1? You can’t walk between Terminal 1 & 2 but there is a free airport shuttle bus between Terminal 1 & Terminal 2B to allow you to connect easily to the Airport Train station for the RENFE R2 Nord line.
Important Note: The L9 metro line stops at both the Airport Terminal 1& 2 but I do not recommend taking the metro, if you intend to go straight to the cruise port. To get to Drassanes station via the L9 metro requires two interchanges, rather than one. If you must, change to L5 at Europe Fira, then change again to L3 at Espanya. Both are major stations with escalators and elevators.
The Aerobus service is an express bus from the airport to Plaça d’Espanya. This is my less preferred option because the interchange between metro and bus is slightly harder and it is also more expensive.
Board the Aerobus A1 (from Terminal 1) or A2 (from Terminal 2) outside the arrivals or departures level. These bright red buses run frequently (every 10-15 minutes) and take approximately 25 minutes to reach Plaça d’Espanya, costing €6.75 (single ticket) or €11.65 return. From Plaça d’Espanya, enter Espanya metro station, buy a single metro ticket (€2.55) and catch the L3 line to Drassanes (3 stops).
Ticket Tips:
- Single Aerobus tickets can be purchased from vending machines or directly on the bus. If you’re not sure you’ll have change, you can also purchase your Aerobus tickets online (valid for 90 days). The Aerobus website does sell a combined Aerobus + one way Metro ticket for €8 but you still need to stop by a ticket machine to redeem the metro ticket, so it won’t save you any time!
- Consider buying a T-Casual 10-trip ticket (€12.15) if you plan on using public transport after your cruise on a post-cruise stay in Barcelona (valid on metro and some buses, with up to 3 free transfers within 75 minutes). However, note that the T-Casual cannot be shared and isn’t valid for airport journeys.
Navigating Barcelona’s public transport from the city centre to reach the cruise port is straightforward! With the extensive metro and bus network, you can easily get to the cruise port (even with luggage!) from the city centre. Here are some insider tips to make your journey smoother:
- Metro Magic: Drassanes station (on the green L3 line) boasts a lift – perfect for wrangling luggage – and drops you right at the end of the famous La Ramblas. Your landmark is the Christopher Columbus column. Once past the column, turn right towards the cruise ship likely docked outside the World Trade Centre South Terminal (Check the map above!).
- Bustling Buses: Don’t limit yourself to the metro! Barcelona has a fantastic bus network. If you’re staying near one of the beaches, you might find a direct bus route to the port, saving you metro changes. Check Citymapper or Google Maps for the best options from your location.
- Ticket Talk: A single metro or bus ticket costs €2.55. You can buy tickets from machines in metro stations or use a contactless card on the bus (just listen for the beep!). However, if you’ve been exploring Barcelona before your cruise, the T-casual 10-trip ticket (valid on metro and buses, including up to 3 free transfers within 75 minutes) for €12.15 might be a more economical choice. Note that the T-casual cannot be shared with other passengers on the same journey and isn’t valid for airport transportation.
Once at Drassanes metro station or at a bus stop nearby, walk to the port shuttle bus stop, 5 minutes on flat ground away.
Barcelona Cruise Port Shuttle Bus
Ready to roll? The Barcelona Cruise Port Shuttle Bus awaits outside the World Trade Centre, with the stop facing the South Terminal (check it out on Google Maps ). This trusty blue bus runs on a continuous loop, ready to whisk you away to terminals A, B, C, D, and E. Don’t get too comfy though – the ride is about 5 mins, so make sure you hop off at the right stop!
The port bus is cash only and tickets are €3 one-way or €4.50 for a day pass (not a return, so don’t get your hopes up on saving money for a roundtrip cruise!) If you lack change or small bills, ditch the old-school approach and snag your ticket on your phone via the official website before boarding.
No worries if you’re lugging suitcases – I rode the shuttle with my check-in bag and hand luggage and it’s not an issue. There’s some luggage racks on the bus.
I’ve witnessed brave souls attempt this feat, suitcases valiantly wobbling in their wake. But no, I do not recommend it. The bridge to the terminals embraces a car-centric philosophy with no pavement for pedestrians. You’ll be dodging traffic while tackling a sneaky uphill climb.
Update July 2024: I was left a message by an annoyed reader (anonymously) that I stated incorrectly that there’s no pavement for pedestrians on this bridge. So I thought I’ll add the street view image so readers can decide for themselves what the walk would be like. I don’t have a photo because I’ve never walked it – the building you see on your left is Terminal A. I personally would call this, on a high traffic road, more of a curb than a pavement. For my €3, I would rather catch the port bus to save myself the walk! But to each their own!
That wraps up my Barcelona Cruise Port DIY Embarkation guide! I hope these tips have equipped you for a smooth embarkation. Bon voyage! If you found this helpful, please feel free to share it with fellow cruisers.

Despite being under construction for over 100 years, the Sagrada Familia remains one of the most popular tourist attractions in Barcelona, drawing millions of visitors each year. It’s a must on any Spain bucket list .
As the most famous landmark in Barcelona, Sagrada Familia draws quite a crowd. So I highly recommend you book your tickets in advance.
You can visit the Sagrada Familia with an expert guide, skip-the-ticket-line access and choose between a small-group or private experience.

Gothic Quarter
The Gothic Quarter is one of the most historic and charming neighborhoods in Barcelona. It is located in the heart of the city’s old town and is known for its many charming streets and alleys, such as the Carrer del Bisbe, a narrow street that is famous for its beautiful archway, and the Plaça Sant Jaume, a historic square that is home to the City Hall and the Palace of the Generalitat.
One of the most famous landmarks is the Barcelona Cathedral, a stunning Gothic cathedral that dates back to the 13th century. The cathedral is known for its beautiful stained glass windows, intricate carvings, and impressive bell tower.
Another popular attraction in the Gothic Quarter is the Plaça del Rei, a beautiful square that was once the site of the royal palace of the Catalan kings. Going for a stroll through the Gothic Quarter is one of the best things to do in Barcelona at night .
Parc Guell is a beautiful park located in the Gracia district of Barcelona and is one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions. The park was designed by the famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi and is known for its stunning architecture, colorful mosaics, and beautiful views of the city.
One of the most famous landmarks in Parc Guell is the Dragon Stairway, a colorful staircase that leads up to the park’s main terrace. The staircase is decorated with a mosaic of colorful tiles and is guarded by a large dragon statue, which has become one of the most iconic symbols of the park.
🌟 Remember that all the Barcelona highlights I mentioned above are included in this Private Barcelona Highlights Shore Excursion .
Sagrat Cor Church
If you have the time I highly recommend you also see Sagrat Cor Church, a stunning basilica located on the top of Mount Tibidabo in Barcelona. It was designed by the Spanish architect Enric Sagnier and was completed in 1961.
The church is known for its beautiful Neo-Gothic style architecture and its impressive location, which offers stunning views of the city and the surrounding mountains.
One of the biggest draws of Barcelona is its stunning beaches. The city has several beaches that are easily accessible from the cruise port, including:
- Barceloneta Beach: The most popular beach in the city, Barceloneta is known for its lively atmosphere and wide range of activities.
- Nova Icaria Beach: A quieter beach that is popular with families and offers a variety of water sports.
- Bogatell Beach: A long, wide beach that is popular with locals and offers plenty of space to relax and soak up the sun.
Barcelona is home to a wealth of museums and art galleries, many of which are located in or near the city center. Some of the top museums and galleries to visit include:
- Picasso Museum: A museum dedicated to the life and work of Pablo Picasso, one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.
- Museum of Contemporary Art: A museum that showcases contemporary art from around the world.
- National Art Museum of Catalonia: A museum that houses a collection of Romanesque art and Catalan modernism.
So as you can see, there is no shortage of things to see and do near the Barcelona cruise port. Whether you’re interested in history, art, or simply soaking up the sun on the beach, there is something for everyone in this vibrant city.
The only hotel at the Barcelona cruise port is the Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel GL in the World Trade Center, a very good 5-star hotel.
The hotel offers 291 spacious and stylish rooms and suites, all of which are equipped with modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs, minibars, and free Wi-Fi. Many of the rooms also offer stunning views of the port and the city skyline.
One of the highlights of the Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel GL is its rooftop terrace, which offers breathtaking views of the city and the Mediterranean Sea. The terrace is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a busy day of sightseeing and features a swimming pool, a bar, and plenty of comfortable loungers and seating areas.
The hotel also offers a range of other amenities and services, including a fitness center, a sauna, a restaurant, and a bar. The hotel’s restaurant, the Aire de Mar, serves delicious Mediterranean cuisine in a stylish and elegant setting.

Barcelona can be expensive, especially in tourist areas and during peak season. However, there are many budget-friendly options for food, accommodation, and activities. Eat street food and explore parks, architecture and viewpoints to keep your expenses down.

We disembark at Barcelona and need to catch a train at Sants Station. What is the easiest way and what should we expect to pay? Our train leaves at 9:45 am. Thank you.

A taxi no doubt.
20€ at the most.
What time should we get off the ship to reach the 9:45 train? Do you go through customs in Barcelona? This is a Transatlantic cruise. Thank you.
Can't help you there, perhaps other fellow passengers that have done this before can assist. Sorry.
ollienbertsmum
We always travel by train - so leave the ship and go straight to Sants Station. The taxi journey is around 20 euro. It seems expensive but I think that the extras - Sunday morning/port supplement/ suitcases add up.
Everyone seems to be queuing up for the train 30 mins ahead of time ( not sure why but we join them) you also have to have your luggage scanned so be early.
For an 8.30 train on a Sunday morning we have left the ship at 6.30 (ship docked at 5 am) We took breakfast (fruit and yogurt) to our room the night before and we carried our own luggge off. At that time there was no queue for the taxi and no traffic.
So by 7 am we are in the station -far too early but not stressed about missing t he train.
Now for a 9.45 departure there will be more people leaving with you so there possibly will be a taxi queue. I would certainly self disembark and no later than 7.30.
Anybody else know what the queues are like at this time to disagree with me?
Ah - just re read your question. A transatlantic - you would have to do immigration. You would surely have to leave more time but others who hfs done transatlantics would be better placed to comment If it were me, I would be off the ship as soon as I could and prefer sitting having coffee in Sants station than being Ina queue for a taxi at the port.
- 2 years later...
We are on Favolosa coming off a Transatlantic cruise arriving at Barcelona Port at 8AM. Would we be able to catch a 10:15 train at Barcelona Sants station?
We will only have carry on luggage.
Should be ok. Ride is about 15 min. And having at least 20-30 min before train departure (finding the platform & small security lineup for Intercity trains) not a bad idea. So any cab before 9:30 is ok. And more likely ship will be there before 8am so 8 is actual disembark time. Count 10 min at most to get to taxi stand
mapleleaves
For a 10:15 train, I wouldn't cut it that close. I'd be among the first off the ship.
Granted, our situation was unusual, but the taxi line didn't move ! Not sure what went wrong that day, but only one taxi would appear and it was every 5 minutes or so. We stood in line for over an hr with about 300 people ahead of us. We ended up taking a shuttle service to the airport instead.
Best to prepare for the worst and wait at the station, than miss the train. Unless your tickets can be used at any time.
Port bus (3 euro) to Columbus statue area, then Metro L3 from Drassanes to Sants. If your timing doesn't allow, take a taxi as others recommended. There were plenty of taxis waiting when we disembarked, although we waited around and didn't leave ship until ~11.

Don't even think of using anything different then a taxi.

Traveling with kids to Europe? Why including a cruise might be better than just staying on land
You may associate the word "cruising" with short jaunts to the Bahamas or Mexico. On those cruises, a lot of the experience is about the onboard fun, and some passengers never even leave the boat.
But if those typical short cruises out of Florida aren't necessarily your kind of thing and you are planning a trip with kids, there's a very different type of experience available in Europe that is worth considering.
I've been traveling to Europe with kids from when they were crawling to now, with one on the cusp of high school. On those trips, we've stayed in traditional hotels, apartments and even in a dome above the Arctic Circle . While all of the trips were magical in their own ways, our most recent almost-two-week European trip included five nights on a cruise, and this may now be my favorite way to experience Europe with kids.
Here's why cruising to Europe with kids during your European vacation might be an even better trip than staying in hotels on dry land.

Occupancy limits
First and perhaps most importantly, booking traditional hotels might frustrate you quite quickly when you're in Europe with a family.
Most of the time, you'll find that standard hotel rooms have an occupancy limit of two people per room — three if you're really lucky. Outside of some airport hotels and pricier family-specific rooms, you'll almost never be able to sleep four to a room in Europe due to occupancy limits.
So, for example, if you have a family of four, you'll often have to book two rooms — and whether you're paying with cash or points, that adds up quickly. (You can inquire about family plan rooms where the second room is at a discount, but even that can be hit and miss.)
If you choose the apartment or home rental route, there are other issues to consider, such as evolving laws and sentiments related to using vacation rental companies such as Airbnb, which residents often feel contribute to local housing crises.
However, if you opt instead to sleep aboard a cruise ship in Europe, you can easily find rooms built for four or even five. For example, we recently sailed in Europe on Disney Dream and it has standard cabins bookable for up to five people.

Familiar foods when you want them
While eating and experiencing different kinds of cuisine is a big, fun part of exploring Europe for adults, that may not be the case for children. Not every kid is ready to scour a new menu, in potentially another language, for each and every meal.
When we travel, it can be tough to keep one of my kids fed since she struggles with eating unfamiliar food (though not for lack of trying). So, a cruise is a great option for our family. We can go ashore for a local lunch and then return to the ship at night for some easy comfort food.
For example, a few culinary highlights (for me) on our trip included lunch on a Tuscan farm featuring cheese, truffle honey and oil-dipped bread, and a paella in Barcelona.
As excited as I was about those dishes, my 8-year-old was equally thrilled to see some familiar favorites back on board. In other words, it was a win for all involved.

See a lot without working hard for it
Traveling through Europe with kids is amazing, but it's also work. There's packing up, dealing with checking in and out, making sure you didn't forget that charger or stuffed animal, hauling everyone's bags to the train station or airport, unpacking, restocking the fridge, and on and on — all of that can get old quickly.
Conversely, if you are cruising Europe with kids (at least for a portion of your trip), there will be no packing or unpacking to deal with during that part of your journey. Simply drift away to sleep at night after sailing out of, say, Barcelona and wake up in Livorno, Italy, just a short drive from Pisa, while leaving the "work" of getting there to the ship. You get somewhere new to explore virtually every day without worrying about the logistics of getting there.
Not only do you have the option of some of the larger ships on lines such as Royal Caribbean and Disney available in Europe, but there are even some river cruises that are family-friendly, such as the Adventures by Disney river cruises, which opens up all kinds of additional ports and destinations.
By sailing from port to port, you can get a taste of an area without committing to multiple days there. The worst-case scenario with less time in each destination means that you may fall in love with a place and want more time. But then, you can always plan another trip there in the future.
All that said, it is worth noting that when you cruise in the Mediterranean, some of the frequently used ports are quite a distance from the major cities you'll likely want to experience. For example, the port used to visit Rome, Civitavecchia, is about an 80-minute bus ride from the Eternal City itself. The considerable distance between the port and Rome can lead to early mornings, long days and tired kids. In our case, we used our time on the bus to take some power naps and keep everyone happy.
Something for everyone
In my opinion, if you're going to Europe, you should do things that you can only do in Europe. That might mean walking through the Roman Forum, seeing the Leaning Tower of Pisa or dancing under the Eiffel Tower in Paris. And often, if you are traveling as a family, you will be doing those things as a family.
However, there may be times when some family members don't want to do things at the same time as everyone else for days on end.
Maybe you want to enjoy some jazzy piano tunes and a quiet drink at a bar while your tween wants to play basketball with their friends and your partner wants to go for a swim. After returning from a day out and about onshore, everyone can return to the ship in the evening to do exactly what they want to do when they want to.
A little time (slightly) apart can be a fantastic way to reset so you're ready to enjoy more experiences together the next day.

Cool off easily
A lot of Europe is quite warm in the summer — hot, actually. When we visited Rome in mid-July, temperatures clocked in at 100 degrees, and it felt even hotter than that.
In much of Europe, widespread air conditioning and swimming pools are few and far between, so it can be tough to cool off between adventures. However, if you stay on a large cruise ship, you will have access to not only some pretty great air conditioning (which means a whole lot, especially in southern Europe) but also pools, waterslides and plenty of ways to cool off.
Readily available 'easy button'
Just before boarding our most recent cruise, the kids needed something familiar for dinner on our fourth night in Barcelona. So, since I had spotted a global pizza chain across the road from our hotel that night, I fired up Google Translate, went online and ordered some pizza. It wasn't fancy, but I hoped it would be easy and affordable.
When I walked across the street to pick the order up, there was no pizza. There was no record of the order despite my email confirmation number. My Spanish and their English weren't meeting in the middle enough for anyone to understand the problem — or solve it. Magically, after an hour or so of confusion and two trips into the store, my order eventually appeared, but it's a good example of how sometimes the "easy button" can be hard to find abroad when you're doing it yourself.
On the ship, when we wanted a pizza after a long day exploring Rome, we simply walked up to the top deck and got it.
While each ship is different, some other amenities of a large ship that may make your life easier include a way to do laundry, really good air conditioning waiting for you, onboard medical assistance if someone in the group is unwell, and easily accessible staff members that speak your language in case you have questions or are in need of recommendations.
You may not need those conveniences, but knowing they are there can take away some of those stresses you may have in the back of your mind.

Combine time at sea with time on land
Of course, if you do head to Europe for a family cruise, then you might as well go a little deeper and at least explore the city you're departing from. If you have time, you can even tack on more time in the city that your cruise will end in, too. That means you can get the best of all worlds: You can enjoy all the conveniences and made-for-kids entertainment available on the ship and have time to really explore Europe on your own, too.
For us, that meant spending more time in Barcelona at the beginning of our cruise. We had plenty of time to walk the Gothic streets; shop; feast on Iberian ham, paella and gelato; enjoy an evening stroll in Park Guell; and, of course, visit the Sagrada Familia, among other things.
After the cruise disembarked in Barcelona, we took a train to Paris and spent several nights exploring there, too.
In both of those locations, we were often shelling out for multiple rooms each night, grateful for the easy days in the middle of the trip that we'd spent on the ship and — every now and then — really missing the familiar food waiting on the ship and the fun (and friends) readily available in the kids and teens clubs.
Pro tip: Some European cruises start in one port and end in another, which is an even easier way to make the most of your time in two different cities.
Bottom line
If you're nervous about navigating Europe with kids , first know that it is absolutely doable. But having tried multiple methods, I would highly recommend considering a cruise as an easy introduction to Europe.
You can visit various cities, see impressive sights and do it all with the familiar home base of your cruise ship waiting for you each night. Or, do what we did and combine some days on your own, exploring by land, and some days aboard a cruise with a captain at the wheel. That way, you can see more places than you otherwise would, and everyone can take a bit of a break and wake up in a new port to have as busy or lazy of a day as their heart desires.
As for my family, I now have my eye on a Northern Europe cruise, where we could perhaps experience places like Ireland, Norway, Iceland or even Greenland — it's an experience that would be tough to replicate solely traveling by land and air.
