Tim & The Glory Boys Announce 'Home-Town Hoedown Tour' Dates

The tour kicks off tonight, March 15.

Canadian band Tim & The Glory Boys are known for their feel good, high-spirited songs that cross generations and bind communities. Formed in 2013, the JUNO award-winning act were nominated for two Canadian Country Music Awards in 2021 for "Rising Star" and "Group of the Year".

Multi-award-winning lead singer Tim Neufeld, Colin Trask (dobro/percussionist), and Brenton Thorvaldson (banjo/guitar) are born entertainers who call their boot-stompin' anthems "bluegrass-meets-gospel-meets-Canadiana". The band is currently putting the finishing touches on their new full-length album which will be released by Sony Music Entertainment Canada, their debut album for the label.

Their latest single "Bloodlines" has been featured on Spotify's Next From Nashville, All About Country, Top Christian Contemporary, Top Christian and Gospel playlists, to name just a few, and now Tim & The Glory Boys are bringing their "Home-Town Hoedown Tour" to the US in March/April, performing in select cities. "Don't get me wrong, we love playing big city stages, but our hearts are with the small towns. What some folks call 'fly over country', we call 'Our Country and Our People'", says Neufeld. "We live to fire up the bus and tour through these beautiful and underappreciated communities off the beaten path. Doesn't matter if you catch us in a theater, a church, or an old barn, it's always an unforgettable boot stompin', banjo pickin' party - a 'Hoedown' if you will!"

"'Bloodlines' is a song about family, faith, and legacy. It's a song of hope for hard times", says Neufeld, and the poignant video was directed by David J. Redman. The band co-wrote the track with writer-producer Zach Kale (Gabby Barrett, Florida Georgia Line) and with its contemporary production and heartfelt lyrics, the song illustrates the importance of acknowledging and thanking the people in your life who stand by your side and support you through difficult times.

Tim & the Glory Boys last single "Me Without You" has garnered almost 7 Million combined streams and, along with the track "Without A Prayer," landed the group two straight top 10 singles on Canadian Country Radio.

The band has released two albums independently - 2016's "Hootenanny!", which won the JUNO Award for "Contemporary Christian and Gospel Album of the Year" in 2017, and "The Buffalo Roadshow", which was nominated for a JUNO in 2019 for "Contemporary Christian and Gospel Album of the Year".

As committed road warriors, Tim & The Glory Boys play between 100-200 concerts per year, including recently opening for singer-songwriter Tenille Townes on the Canadian leg of her "Girl Who Didn't Care Tour". There are lots of beautiful places that the band wants to go to spread their feel-good message. Don't be surprised if they get into some shenanigans along the way either. They are, after all, a band who have (amongst other things) turned riding buffalo into a lifestyle and tried to play hockey (in full gear) in a swimming pool. It's all documented throughout the band's always charming social media adventures. "We call it blue collar humor," says Neufeld. "We're just trying to relate and be real."

The HOME-TOWN HOEDOWN Tour is THE exclusive bluegrass/country party your town has been waiting for! A spirited night of singin’, laughin’, and stompin’ yer boots. It’ll be the show you can’t stop talking about – the event of the fall! The tickets are gonna go fast folks! Get yours before they’re gone like a tumbleweed on the Saskatchewan plains.

It’s easy to get swept up in the feelgood, hand-raising joy of a Tim & The Glory Boys show. Or laugh along to their well-documented Letterkenny-like hoser escapades. What’s most important though is that the British Columbia-by-way-of-Manitoba boys are making music from—and for—the heart.

Formed in 2013, Tim & The Glory Boys’ Tim Neufeld (lead vocals, acoustic guitar), Colin Trask (dobro/percussionist) and Brenton Thorvaldson (banjo/guitar) call their boot-stompin’ sound “canoegrass,” a nod to both their bluegrass roots and the rustic country Canadiana the band have more recently begun exploring to great success.

This sound anchors the band’s new self-titled full-length debut album for Sony Music Entertainment Canada. The album includes an astounding five songs that have already hit Top 40 at Country Radio and have generated almost 30 million streams worldwide. “When You Know You Know” received Gold certification.

The two-time JUNO Award winners have also become mainstays at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards, having been nominated in 2021 for Group of the Year and Rising Star, and again in 2022 for Group of the Year.

Aerosmith announces retirement from touring due to Steven Tyler's vocal injury

By Victoria D

Updated on: August 2, 2024 / 11:12 PM EDT / CBS Boston

BOSTON - Massachusetts-based rock band Aerosmith has announced that they're retiring from touring and cancelling their farewell tour due to lead singer Steven Tyler's vocal injury .

"Heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision"

In a statement posted on social media, the band said, in part, "We've always wanted to blow your mind when performing. As you know, Steven's voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury. We've seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision - as a band of brothers - to retire from the touring stage."

Aerosmith

Tyler sustained the vocal injury during a concert last September and initially said he wouldn't be able to sing for the next 30 days. But Aerosmith later had to announce that the tour would have to be put on hold because the injury was "more serious than initially thought."

The band was supposed to resume their farewell tour on Sept. 20 in Pittsburgh with stops after that in Philadelphia, Dallas, Denver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago and New York. They were also set to perform a "hometown show" last New Year's Eve at Boston's TD Garden to ring in the new year before it was cancelled due to Tyler's injury.

"We are grateful beyond words for everyone who was pumped to get on the road with us one last time. Grateful to our expert crew, our incredible team and the thousands of talented people who've made our historic runs possible. A final thank you to you - the best fans on planet Earth. Play our music loud, now and always. Dream On. You've made our dreams come true," the band continued in their statement.

What happens to my Aerosmith tickets?

The band said anyone who purchased concert tickets through Ticketmaster will be refunded automatically. Those who bought their tickets through sites like StubHub or SeatGeek need to contact their point of purchase for more information.

Ice Spice Turned Terminal 5 Into a Throbbing House Party

The rapper kicked off her y2k tour in new york with hometown heroes sheff g and a boogie..

Ice Spice Y2K! World Tour In New York

Rain is always a production in New York — the air in train stations gets heavy and damp, commutes are laden with accidents, and evading the cascade of umbrellas becomes its own Olympic sport. On August 7, however, the energy was crackling with excitement. Ice Spice’ s Y2K tour has hit her hometown with a new album, and almost all of the Bronx poured into Hell’s Kitchen to celebrate her homecoming.

The show was originally scheduled to take place at the Rooftop at Pier 17, where the scenic skyline views atop the East River would have given her debut an even more cinematic feel. While the weather nixed that plan, the team quickly brought the party to Terminal 5, where fans wrapped around the block in eager anticipation of the performance. New Yorkers from all walks of life spilled into the venue, not only expecting a great set from Ice Spice but excited for performances from longtime friend Cleo, producing partner Riot, and emerging Bronx icon Cash Cobain .

Internet conversations often provide a myopic view of New York filtered through viral moments and overstated stereotypes. Bodega this, Timberland boots that, chopped cheeses and influencer style moments — these are cheap gimmicks that dilute the potency of what really makes the city churn. Nearly two weeks ago, rapper, producer, and Drake attaché Lil Yachty went viral for dismissing New York’s style legacy . “I don’t think there’s shit goin’ on when it comes to New York fashion,” Yachty insisted to Cash Cobain, who appeared on his podcast platform, A Safe Space. “Soho is a different type of nigga … Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, those three boroughs are nothing like a Manhattan.”

Lost in Yachty’s train of thought is the realization that the New York style he fetishizes is built on the runways of the outer boroughs, where cultures interact and fuse their acquired sensibilities from the South, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the African continent into something unique. New York’s street influences were on display as fans waded into Terminal 5’s massive pit: grills, slicked-back hair, iridescent mesh, platform boots, peek-a-boo thongs, and patent-leather bustiers galore, all camera ready and excited to celebrate the city that built them alongside Fordham Road’s newest breakout starlet. Here, you’ll see just as many crisp white Air Force 1’s (affectionately referred to as “uptowns”) as you will frayed, worn-in shoes that define the contemporary LES style. It wasn’t just New York locals in the building, either. As I made my way through the dizzying three-floor structure of the building, two young fans excitedly told their neighbors that they drove from Canada that morning to see their favorite artist perform live.

hometown hoedown tour

Once Riot took to the boards for his DJ set, the energy in the venue skyrocketed. The Nuyorican producer ran through a gamut of New York classics, old and new — 41, Kyle Richh, and Jenn Carter’s “Bent”; Kay Flock’s unrelenting local hit “Is Ya Ready”; Pop Smoke’s “Foreigner”; Bobby Shmurda’s infectious classic “Hot Nigga” — to rave reactions. By the time he hit the mic and asked, “Who’s here from the Bronx?” the screams ricocheted across the room. It was a perfect warm-up before Cash Cobain came out with his patented sexy drill vibe.

Cash Cobain’s signature sound has dominated New York’s airspace this year. Parties, cookouts, and Uber rides have been inundated with his slinky, sultry melodies and hi-hat drum patterns. The leisurely BPM gives Cash Cobain and frequent collaborator Chow Lee the space to experiment with playful samples and cheeky wordplay to ecstatic reception from the audience. “My voice is gone for Ice Spice,” a guest next to me screamed hoarsely. She had been busy yelling along to Cash Cobain’s songs word for word: “Dunk Contest,” “Rump Punch,” the viral Don Tolliver and Charlie Wilson collaboration “Attitude,” and his arguable breakout single, “Fisherr.” The set was a lovely primer to New York’s new school of talent, and it was as much of a coming-out party for him as for Ice Spice. His planned Slizzyfest at Irving Plaza was shut down at the eleventh hour, and this moment is an overdue culmination of his accomplishments. “Yerrrrr,” he called out to the audience to a deafening reply.

hometown hoedown tour

In the lull after Cash Cobain left the stage, I shuffled around the concert. Fans were getting restless in the 25 minutes between his set and Ice Spice’s headlining performance, and a confusing mix of commercials played in the background, from the trailer to M. Night Shyamalan’s Trap to an advertisement for Lilly Lashes. “Where’s Ice Spice?” the crowd chanted in intermittent intervals. Parents sat on benches next to their teen children, eagerly awaiting the moment their kids’ favorite rapper would grace the venue; couples canoodled in quiet corners, ready to revel in the experience together. The anticipation crested, but it did not give way to frustration; vapes and joints were aplenty, with fans expressing more eagerness than irritation. A set-production team came to the stage to blow up a massive doll in Ice Spice’s likeness, which got the crowd buzzing.

At long last, their patience was rewarded and Ice Spice stepped out onstage, but not before a dizzying video intro that highlighted potent snippets inspired by the Y2K era: collages overlaid with dizzying neon WordArt fonts, piles of classic Nokia phones, MS-DOS command screens and Internet Explorer’s clunky original browser format led to a dizzying light show as Ice Spice slid onto the stage. While the crowd screamed, she opened with “Popa,” a standout track from Y2K that draws direct inspiration from Chief Keef’s heyday: enthralling bassline, staggered verse delivery, and devil-may-care demeanor. The work she has put into improving her stage performance since coming on the scene a few years ago is clear. Her moves were crisper; her engagement with the crowd was more organic and assured. “The Bronx is in the building!” she shouted, taking in the adoration from her fans.

hometown hoedown tour

With an album runtime of 23 minutes, I was curious how Ice Spice would be able to turn her discography into a headlining set, which would usually run for an hour. Her solution was simple — turn the set into a celebration of her hometown, ceding the space to artists she admired and listened to growing up. After performing two songs and introducing her dancers, the 24-year-old left the stage to light confusion from the audience, which quickly dissipated when Brooklyn drill legend Sleepy Hallow came into full view, rapping the viral “Deep End Freestyle.” Brooklyn rappers Sheff G and Fivio Foreign soon joined in, and as “Big Drip” radiated throughout the room, the second-floor balcony began to tremble. “This is for all my bitches that say ‘period’ after every sentence,” a crowd member yelled near me.

The palpable excitement would rev back up every time Ice Spice returned to the stage to run through a few more of her big hits and album cuts, lights strobing throughout the venue as her techno-futurist New York aesthetic graced her backdrop, shifting from glittering skyscrapers to looping tunnels. “Gimme The Light,” a single with a famous Sean Paul sample that was largely panned upon release, took on a new life in this milieu. With 1,500 fans looking on, the song transformed Ice Spice into the emcee narrating a classic early-aughts house party, with audience members wining and grinding on each other as she amped the crowd on. By the time PartyNextDoor, the lone non–New Yorker in the group, sneaked onstage in a Pelle Pelle jacket and began singing “Break from Toronto,” the ambience had spilled into a near frenzy, with fans shrieking along to every word.

While PartyNextDoor was arguably the biggest guest in attendance, the surprise who got the loudest crowd reaction was easily Bronx’s hometown hero A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. He marched out while singing over local favorite “Look Back at It,” and fans seemed delirious in ecstasy, fervently singing along with the man responsible for many of their summer memories from the late 2010s.

The show was less a traditional headlining set for a tour as it was a celebration of New York culture. It was a statement of what the working class and outer boroughs of the city continue to generate in spite of being maligned for their impact on the city and the world. Culture has never left the concrete jungle, and Ice Spice used her marquee moment to highlight that to rave response from the city that supported her skyrocketing trajectory to near-instant stardom. While I look forward to the moment Ice Spice dominates a concert by taking the spotlight for herself, I can’t help but be charmed by the significance of the moment. It was a defiant showcase by New Yorkers, unapologetically for New Yorkers and whoever else who may be lucky enough to be included.

New York pride is many things — unrelenting, brash, and a bit obnoxious — but it is also borne out of fierce adoration for our ability to bring our own magic to every environment, no matter the circumstances. With 24 hours’ notice, Ice Spice successfully transformed her planned outdoor festival into a throbbing house party, preserving the energy that is long lost in the most viral celebrations of New York culture. It’s a moment that makes you puff your chest out a bit and remember why we are so proud to grow up here and never hesitate to shout where we’re from. “You from Harlem? Raised here?” A stunning young woman inquired as I photographed her; she was pleased when I confirmed affirmatively. “Exactly, — we’re still out here!” Ice Spice didn’t just come back home. She reminded her fans, and the world, that the city that built her deserves to be celebrated.

The PGA Tour has a new sponsor for its Charlotte, North Carolina-based event, with Truist Financial Corporation reportedly nearly doubling the sponsorship fee that had been paid by Wells Fargo.

The tournament at Quail Hollow Club will be renamed the Truist Championship under the new seven-year title sponsor agreement, although the 2025 event will be played in Philadelphia because Quail Hollow is hosting the PGA Championship next year for the second time.

The first Truist Championship, an elevated PGA Tour event with a $20 million prize purse, will instead be held in 2025 at The Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course. The tournament will return to Charlotte, where Truist is headquartered, in 2026 and Quail Hollow will continue as the primary host facility.

“We look forward to partnering with the PGA Tour to elevate this wonderful championship event and Truist’s deep community impact, and to further fulfill our purpose to inspire and build better lives and communities,” said Truist Chairman and CEO Bill Rogers.

The Truist Championship is one of eight Signature Events on the PGA Tour schedule that feature limited fields (of 70 to 80 players) and increased prize money.

Wells Fargo had been the title sponsor of the Charlotte tournament since 2011, but announced in December — a day after Jon Rahm made a jump to the rival LIV Golf tour — that it wouldn’t renew its partnership of an event that’s raised more than $30 million for charitable organizations over its history. It debuted in 2003 as the Wachovia Championship and was renamed the Quail Hollow Championship for two years in 2009-10 before Wells Fargo came aboard.

The seven-year agreement with Truist is estimated to be worth more than $200 million, according to The Business Journals, including $25 million to $27 million in 2025. The Charlotte Business Journal has reported that Wells Fargo spent close to $15 million for its sponsorship in recent years.

The next major sponsorship agreement that’s looming for the PGA Tour is with long-time partner RBC, which last year negotiated one-year extensions for the two events its name has been on: the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and the RBC Canadian Open in Ontario. RBC paid a reported $25 million to be the title sponsor for this April’s event in Hilton Head, but has cited the importance of seeing the PGA Tour stabilize men’s professional golf before commiting to another multiyear extension.

Jordan Knight and NKOTB plan to impress hometown crowd with ‘Magic’ Mansfield show

‘there’s always an extra level of energy when we go to the boston area,’ knight said ahead of new kids on the block’s return to the xfinity center this weekend.

From left: Danny Wood, Donnie Wahlberg, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, and Jonathan Knight of New Kids on the Block performed at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on May 25, 2019, in Las Vegas.

It’s been a sizzling summer for Jordan Knight and his fellow New Kids on the Block bandmates as the group has been traveling North America in support of their “Magic Summer 2024 Tour,” a new spin on their legendary 1990s tour of the same name.

The summer concerts have definitely brought the heat, with a July show in Phoenix seeing temperatures peak at 115 degrees, which was a bit “scary,” according to Knight, but that couldn’t stop the boy band from hangin’ tough .

“The heat’s been a factor, but it’s just fun to be outside,” Knight told the Globe in a recent phone interview, noting how their last full tour of outdoor venues was in 2009. “It’s fun to do something different.”

“The tour has been like any other New Kids tour; it’s just a lot of fun,” he added. “A lot of love, a lot of laughs, a lot of excitement.”

When the New Kids embarked on their first magic summer in 1990, the group stopped at the old Foxboro Stadium, but this time around the tour will take over the Xfinity Center in Mansfield on Saturday, accompanied by special guests Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff.

The band has a lot of history with the venue, first playing it in 1988 when it was called Great Woods. Earlier this year, Knight’s bandmate Joey McIntyre praised the amphitheater for providing “an energy to those summer nights underneath the stars.” Knight echoed those sentiments, calling it one of the area’s top places to play alongside spots like TD Garden and Fenway Park.

“Those are all just great venues,” Knight said.

New Kids on the Block performed at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on May 25, 2019, in Las Vegas. The band returns to Massachusetts for a show at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield on Saturday.

Aside from having nearby friends and family come out to the show, playing in Massachusetts comes with other perks for Knight: He can sleep in his own bed. The 54-year-old singer — who grew up in Dorchester with his brother and fellow boy bander Jonathan — lives in Milton, where he co-owns the restaurant Novara , along with two other spots in town.

“Every winter I’m like, ‘Why the hell do I live here?’ But I’ve never left,” Knight said. “I still live in Milton with my wife. My older son’s moved out. My younger son’s still with us. They went to schools in the area.”

His brother lives in Essex on a farm and, when there isn’t a New Kids tour, can be seen hosting the HGTV series “Farmhouse Fixer” with designer Kristina Crestin. Jordan Knight said it’s always a joy to visit his sibling, whether for fun or to help out on the home makeover show.

“We go up there all the time and celebrate things, birthdays, holidays,” Knight said.

As for the upcoming concert in Mansfield, the New Kids star wouldn’t divulge any secrets, but did tease a few surprises in store for the hometown crowd.

“I will just say, we always cook up surprises,” Knight said. “We won’t let people down.”

Since so many family, friends, and local fans will be in attendance, expect Knight and the rest of the New Kids to bring the right stuff on Saturday night.

“Pardon the pun, but we’re still kids inside. We want to impress,” Knight said. “There’s always an extra level of energy when we go to the Boston area.”

Brandt Snedeker honored with PGA TOUR’s Payne Stewart Award presented by Southern Company

Payne Stewart Award

Change Text Size

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – In recognition of his character, sportsmanship and commitment to charitable giving, nine-time PGA TOUR winner and 2012 FedExCup champion Brandt Snedeker has been named the 2024 recipient of the PGA TOUR’s Payne Stewart Award presented by Southern Company. Snedeker will be honored on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the Payne Stewart Award Ceremony in conjunction with the TOUR Championship. The ceremony will be televised live on Golf Channel as part of a “Golf Central” special from 7-8 p.m. ET at the Southern Exchange in downtown Atlanta.

“Brandt Snedeker exemplifies everything the Payne Stewart Award represents,” said PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan. “As one of our game’s most respected players, Brandt has displayed a steadfast commitment to using his platform to better the lives of so many families in his home state of Tennessee. He and Mandy have worked tirelessly to build their family foundation and establish opportunities for children on and off the golf course, and it’s inspiring to know those efforts will continue for years to come.”

The Payne Stewart Award is presented annually by the PGA TOUR to a professional golfer who best exemplifies Stewart’s steadfast values of character, charity and sportsmanship. Stewart, an 11-time winner on the PGA TOUR and World Golf Hall of Fame member, died tragically 25 years ago during the week of the TOUR Championship in 1999. Southern Company, the “Official Energy Company of the PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions,” was the TOUR Championship presenting sponsor the year of Stewart’s passing. A year later, the PGA TOUR created the Payne Stewart Award in his honor, and Southern Company has supported the annual presentation since its inception.

Snedeker, 43, is a Nashville, Tennessee, native and has nine TOUR titles to his credit. His remarkable 2012 FedExCup title helped him and his wife, Mandy, launch the Snedeker Foundation shortly thereafter. He and his wife have two children, Lily and Austin.

“It’s an amazing honor and privilege to be a recipient of this award,” said Snedeker. “With my family being from Springfield, Missouri, Payne’s hometown, he was my favorite golfer growing up and to have my name on this trophy is unbelievable. When you’re recognized for an award like this, it means not only are you a good player, but you’re a good person. This was one of my dreams and it came true.”

Snedeker’s charitable commitment

In addition to a sculpture by Bob Pack presented to the recipient, the Payne Stewart Award is accompanied by an annual Payne Stewart Award Grant made possible by Southern Company. The $500,000 grant supports several initiatives in Stewart’s name and is distributed as follows: $100,000 to Payne and Tracey Stewart’s primary charity, The Stewart Family Foundation; $100,000 in Stewart’s honor to Payne Stewart Memorial, located in Missouri at Kids Across America, which is affiliated with Kanakuk Kamps; and $300,000 to a charity designated by the recipient.

Snedeker has chosen to direct funds to the Snedeker Foundation. For more than a decade, the organization has focused its efforts on supporting youth initiatives on both the social and athletic fronts across Middle Tennessee. Our Kids, one of the Foundation’s most prominent initiatives, provides expert medical evaluations and crisis counseling services in response to concerns of child sexual abuse. Our Kids is one of the largest clinics of its kind in the country, with eight team members providing free 24/7 coverage to 47 counties in Middle Tennessee. Since 1987, Our Kids has evaluated more than 30,000 children with 65 percent of them being age 7 or younger.

Another focus of Snedeker’s charitable giving has been geared toward the junior game, where he has helped provide a platform for the next generation of golfers to reach their potential through the Sneds Tour. In partnership with the Tennessee Golf Foundation, the Sneds Tour is a year-round junior golf tour that operates 174 events and makes the game more accessible by providing lower entry and registration fees.

In line with providing support to aspiring golfers, the Snedeker Foundation teamed up with the Tennessee Golf Foundation in December 2023 to fund the creation of a practice facility for Nashville Christian School, which will be used in a collaborative effort between those students and the Tennessee School for the Blind.

Additionally, since 2017, the Snedeker Foundation has partnered with Simmons Bank and the Korn Ferry Tour to host the Simmons Bank Open for the Snedeker Foundation, which has raised more than $1 million for charities in the region. The tournament was awarded Korn Ferry Tour Tournament of the Year in 2022.

“The philanthropic work Brandt performs on behalf of others – including some of the most vulnerable among us – demonstrates how his values are as meaningful to him as his victories,” said Chris Womack, chairman, president and CEO of Southern Company. “His contributions ensure others feel loved, respected and cared for and make our world a better place.”

Snedeker on course

True to his Tennessee roots, Snedeker remained in his hometown to pursue his collegiate career at Vanderbilt University. Over the course of his time at Vanderbilt, Snedeker became one of the Commodores’ most decorated golfers in history. His accolades included being named SEC Freshman of the Year, a second-team All-America selection as a junior and the 2003 SEC Player of the Year and first-team All-American in his senior year. Snedeker added a victory at the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship in 2003, which earned him a spot in the 2004 Masters Tournament.

After turning professional in 2004, Snedeker found success in the professional ranks with two victories on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2006 to earn his PGA TOUR card for the 2007 season.

Officially joining the PGA TOUR in 2007, Snedeker collected six top-10 finishes, including his first career TOUR title at the Wyndham Championship, and he was later named the recipient of the Arnold Palmer Award as PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year.

Throughout his current 20-year TOUR career, Snedeker has earned nine career PGA TOUR victories, including the 2012 TOUR Championship, which secured the season-long title as FedExCup champion, and was selected to three national teams. His two Ryder Cup appearances (2012, 2016) were highlighted by the only perfect 3-0-0 record in the 2016 matches.

Snedeker was inducted into the Vanderbilt Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009 and was nominated for the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame’s Male Professional Athlete of the Year Award in 2013.

Snedeker is the 27th recipient of the Payne Stewart Award, joining a distinguished group of respected golfers including Gary Koch, who was recognized in 2023, and the inaugural recipients Byron Nelson, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer (2000). Other recipients include Billy Andrade (2022), Justin Rose (2021), Zach Johnson (2020), Hale Irwin (2019), Bernhard Langer (2018), Stewart Cink (2017), Jim Furyk (2016), Ernie Els (2015), Sir Nick Faldo (2014), Peter Jacobsen (2013), Steve Stricker (2012), David Toms (2011), Tom Lehman (2010), Kenny Perry (2009), Davis Love III (2008), Hal Sutton (2007), Gary Player (2006), Brad Faxon (2005), Jay Haas (2004), Tom Watson (2003), Nick Price (2002) and Ben Crenshaw (2001).

She’s in his town: Bon Iver to perform at Harris rally in hometown of Eau Claire, Wis.

Vice President Harris will draw from some hometown talent on Wednesday when Bon Iver performs at a rally in Eau Claire, Wis. — part of a barnstorm tour of swing states she is doing with her running mate this week.

Bon Iver, the Grammy-award winning indie folk band, is led by singer-songwriter Justin Vernon, who comes from Eau Claire.

Vice President Harris gets ready to speak to campaign staff at her campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Del., on Monday.

Harris walks out to Beyoncé’s 'Freedom' in her 1st appearance as a presidential candidate

Harris is announcing her running mate in Philadelphia on Tuesday. She will then continue to a series of states that are key to her electoral strategy: Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Arizona and Nevada.

Harris previously shared the stage with hip-hop artists Megan Thee Stallion and Quavo, who joined the vice president at her Atlanta campaign rally last month. Like Vernon, Quavo was in front of a hometown crowd — he grew up in nearby Gwinnett County , Ga.

The appearances — and the campaign's ability to leverage a diverse set of celebrity talent, including Beyoncé — draw a sharp contrast to President Biden’s reelection effort, where he largely campaigned in smaller venues and struggled to generate the same enthusiasm that Harris or former President Donald Trump have on the campaign trail.

Bon iver wasn't born in a vacuum — it took an 'epoch' to form.

Vernon, best known in recent years for his frequent collaborations with Taylor Swift, is not a newcomer to Democratic politics. He backed Sen. Bernie Sanders for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020 and performed at a Sanders rally ahead of the Iowa caucus.

He also launched a get-out-the-vote campaign called “ For Wisconsin ” and performed at six colleges across the state in the week leading up to the 2022 midterm elections. The tour’s slogan was “Apocalypse Nah.”
