Brantley Gilbert Announces 2016 Take It Outside Summer Tour Dates

Brantley Gilbert has announced the initial cities and dates for a 2016 summer road trek he's calling the Take It Outside Tour.

The singer-songwriter has just kicked off his current Black Out World Tour , playing to capacity crowds in Michigan over the weekend. He's already looking forward to the summer with a string of dates that will feature Justin Moore and Colt Ford on the bill.

“We’re just getting started bringing the music to the people,” Gilbert says in a press release. “We hit that stage in Saginaw, and the crowd was lit up. Makes you wanna hit the road, and stay out there — when the people are so raging. We knew when we did this arena tour, we were gonna wanna take it outside! We don’t have all the dates in place, but I want the fans in these markets to know I’m coming.”

The Take It Outside Tour commences June 2 in Mansfield, Mass., at XFinity Center. So far 22 dates have been announced, with more on the way, playing in amphitheaters across the country. Gilbert, Moore and Ford are all friends, and they have collaborated or toured together before, so fans can look forward to a high-energy evening onstage.

“We’ve all done so many things together,” Gilbert explains. “This is one of those tours that’ll be crazy before it even rolls. Justin likes to really push the limits, and he’s a pretty serious performer. Colt is one of those guys who gets how to hit a crowd right between the eyes. If you love your  country on the rougher side, this is gonna be a show for you.”

Brantley Gilbert Heralded 2016 North American Tour Dates

Country rock singer/songwriter Brantley Gilbert announced winter/spring 2016 North American dates of his "Blackout Tour". The jaunt kicks off January 28 by concert at Saginaw's Arena at Dow Event Center, consists of 27 dates, and wraps up April 30 by show at Lincoln's Pinnacle Bank Arena. Gilbert will make stops in Lexington, KY, Orlando, FL, San Antonio, TX, Oklahoma City, OK, Knoxville, TN, and in some other towns. The tour also features Canaan Smith and Michael Ray. Gilbert will also make appearance at Country Music Festival at Mountain Home, ID (7/29). Brantley's latest studio album "Just as I Am" was released in 2014 and spawned singles "Bottoms Up", "Small Town Throwdown", "One Hell of an Amen", and "Stone Cold Sober".

Brantley Gilbert Plans Global Black Out Tour for 2015 and 2016

"Country must be country wide," one of  Brantley Gilbert 's songs goes, but why stop with the United States? The singer-songwriter has announced a tour that will be taking him not only across the country but also to Canada, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Australia.

Gilbert's Black Out Tour is set to kick off in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on Nov. 11. He'll hit Germany, Scotland and England throughout November and then, in the new year, play dates throughout the U.S., plus a few in Canada and one in Australia.

“If you’re gonna take it on the road, do it,” Gilbert says in a press release. “If you’re gonna push the music, don’t be afraid to put it out there. People around the world get the idea about what we do: These songs are about living life in hard places, but standing up when you do. That’s a universal thing, so let’s do it."

He adds, "Music is music. I don’t care what you call it, as long as you let me play it my way. I know where these songs came from, what they mean, how they played out -- and that is how me and the boys try to bring ’em.”

A complete list of Gilbert's Black Out Tour dates is available below. Tickets for arena dates are scheduled to go on sale on Nov. 6, with a special pre-sale being offered for BG Nation members. More information is available on Gilbert's website .

“This is why I do this: To take it to the people. I want to rock hard and tell the truth and see it in their eyes. My fans know what I’m talking about, and they come for that reason," Gilbert says. "It’s not for everybody, but it’s its own kind of country ... and being out in some of the secondary markets, the kind of places I came up, that feels just like home.”

The country star released his newest album,  Just As I Am , in May of 2014, but fans shouldn't expect more new tunes too soon. Gilbert says that he is taking his time with his new project.

“When the record process starts for me, I go through my entire catalog, every single note, every song, every idea,” he  explains . “A lot of times, on this last record, there were three or four songs that I started years ago and hadn’t finished. It just matched up. I’d been through more in my life and had more content. Of course, also, I do write or co-write everything that I cut. I don’t think I’ve seen enough of the good, the bad and the ugly yet. I hate to say that, but on the record, I try to cover all those things. Every emotion.”

Brantley Gilbert Reveals Dates for Take It Outside Summer Tour

As his Blackout Tour fills venues through the winter months, Brantley Gilbert is getting ready to fight for his right to party with his Take It Outside summer tour. Commencing June 2nd in Mansfield, Massachusetts, the trek currently has 22 dates lined up through October. The tour closes with a two night stand at Colorado’s famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre, October 14th and 15th.

Joining Gilbert for the tour will be his Valory Music labelmate Justin Moore, whose current single is “You Look Like I Need a Drink,” and his “Dirt Road Anthem” co-writer Colt Ford. Gilbert and Moore also previously collaborated (along with Thomas Rhett) on the 2015 single “Small Town Throwdown.” See the full list of dates for the Take It Outside tour below. 

The “Stone Cold Sober” singer is currently in the middle of his Blackout tour, with shows scheduled this weekend in Augusta, Georgia; Orlando, Florida; and Tallahassee, Florida. The winter and spring leg of the tour wraps up April 30th in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Combining the outlaw country of Eric Church with the blue-collar rock of Bruce Springsteen, Brantley Gilbert is one of the harder-edged names to emerge from the contemporary Nashville scene. The self-proclaimed small-town guy has also barely left the road since emerging in the late '00s, supporting the likes of Willie Nelson, Toby Keith and Tim McGraw, as well as headlining his own tours: 2012's Hell on Wheels, 2016's Take It Outside and 2018's The Ones That Like Me. As you'd expect, the Brantley Gilbert live experience is a loud and proud one, with his array of fist-pumping, foot-stomping anthems often accompanied by dazzling pyrotechnics, swirling lasers and LCD visuals.
