Storm IQ Tour Emerald Bowling Ball Features :
A pearlized IQ Tour is back, and this time it features a beautiful emerald green color scheme. The IQ Tour Emerald is a remake of the extremely popular gold-colored IQ Tour Pearl, with the only difference being the color. It uses the same C3 Centripetal Control Core as the original gold ball, along with one of the most successful coverstocks in bowling history, R2S Pearl. The box finish is the standard 1500 grit with polish, helping to provide length and a strong angle at the friction. This ball provides its length without a giant, sharp change of direction. Instead, it gives plenty of continuation on the back end and through the pin deck.
The premise is wickedly simple: create a ball that’s worthy of your time, energy, and dollars. It’s no mystery that the !Q has become a staple in Storm’s lineup of high performance bowling balls. Favored by bowlers of all levels all over the globe, anyone and everyone can benefit from the benchmark reaction the !Q series is able to provide.
Workable and forgiving, the C3 Centripetal Control Core is a design that revs up quickly, providing a smoother change of direction downlane. This shape is beneficial for players requiring control at the breakpoint. Used only in the !Q Tour series of balls, this core is precisely designed and manufactured using proprietary technology.
R2S is synonymous with some of the most successful balls in recent history like the Hy-Road , Frantic, and the IQ Tour . It is renowned for clearing the front part of the lane with an unprecedented movement on the backend. The consistency of this shell through the heads is something to be marveled at.

Additional product information:
The original !Q Tour became famous with R2S, and the !Q Tour Ruby will be no exception. The !Q Tour Ruby will feature R2S Pearl and will come in a 1500-grit polished box finish that will make the one-color ruby pearl cover simply shine. But good looks are just the window dressing. On the lanes, R2S Pearl provides the highest coefficient of dry lane friction of any coverstock we have to offer. That allows the !Q Tour Ruby to easily glide through the front of the lane on most conditions before charging back to the pocket with all the carrying power you’re ever going to need.
Powering the !Q Tour Ruby is the proven C3 Centripetal Control Core that has made the !Q Tour line the industry’s go-to option for predictable, benchmark reaction. In the !Q Tour Ruby, the C3 Core will provide a combination of power and forgiveness that simply can’t be matched. This will allow you to maintain control of the pocket at all times without sacrificing the hooking motion and hitting power needed to put up big scores and stay ahead of the competition.

The Iq tour ruby is so smooth dam! It’s very clean through the front but still picks up early with a nice round shape. Definitely a great buy!
IQ Tour Ruby

This ball is a must have for everyone! What isn’t there to like about a pearl IQ! You can’t go wrong with either the C3 Centripetal Core or the proven R2S pearl cover let alone the combination of the 2! In my opinion the Ruby is the closest thing yet to the gold. But I do think it has fixed every problem that some people had with the gold. For me the Ruby tends to lock up a little more than the older iterations of the pearl IQ. With the Emerald and the IQ 30 typically if I was bowling on house and had a decent miss right they would tend to over hook off of the spot and typically 3-6-10. But with the Ruby it will typically lock up at that spot and still snap the 10 out which makes my window for miss room a lot larger. I do feel that the Ruby fits every type of bowler. So if you think the Ruby wouldn’t fit your game I would say that I disagree and everyone should have one in their bag. It is very forgiving as I was saying earlier and it has worked for me on just about every type of pattern at one point or another. I do like to do reviews typically a little later in the balls cycle so that myself and other people have really had a chance to throw the ball quite a bit and I can confidently say that this is one ball you don’t wanna miss out on!
Ultimate Control
Posted by Zack Newman on Jul 6th 2023
I drilled my IQ Ruby with a benchmark 3x5x3 layout, and left the out of box surface ReactaGloss to do my initial video review. What I found was that I can either play slightly right of the IQ Tour Solid, or, if I start with the solid (drilled identical), I can just about stay right on top of where I am and switch into the Ruby once transition begins to happen. It's truly the ultimate control ball for all intents and purposes. It starts much earlier than balls such as the Hustles, Burners, Electrifys and Tropicals from back a few years, which is what gives it such a great "control" type look, whereas the others are a little more violent down the lane which can be unpredictable on the wrong conditions. It's a perfect 1-2 punch with the IQ Solid, and fits well underneath Zens, Hyroads, and Idols.

Storm Bowling IQ Tour Ruby Layout: 4 ½ x 5 x 4 Pin Down Bowlers PAP: 4 13/16” Over 11/16” Up Rev Rate 400 Rpm The Storm Bowling IQ Tour Ruby is a remarkable bowling ball that exceeded my expectations. The IQ Tour Ruby combines precision, versatility, and hitting power to deliver an exceptional performance on the lanes. First and foremost, the IQ Tour Ruby features the C3 Centripetal Control Core. This core design enhances the ball's overall predictability and control with easy length through the front part of the lane allowing for precise shot making. With the IQ Tour Ruby in hand, The ball's strong mid-lane read and continuous backend reaction delivered a powerful strike pocket entry, resulting in impressive pin carry and consistent results. The R2S Pearl Reactive cover stock of the IQ Tour Ruby complements its core perfectly. This cover stock offers excellent length through the front part of the lane while maintaining a strong backend reaction. The combination of length and backend power makes it an ideal choice for medium to lighter oil conditions, where the ball can retain energy and make a strong move towards the pocket. Its versatility made it a reliable choice for various lane conditions and gave me the confidence to attack the pins from different angles. The build quality of the Storm Bowling IQ Tour Ruby is exceptional. Its captivating ruby red color with the Storm logo adds a touch of elegance and makes it visually appealing both on the racks and on the approach. In conclusion, the Storm Bowling IQ Tour Ruby is a standout performer that combines precision, versatility, and hitting power. Whether you're a competitive bowler or a dedicated enthusiast looking for a reliable and high-performance ball, the IQ Tour Ruby won't disappoint. The new addition to the IQ line is the IQ Tour Ruby! Let's just say my favorite Storm ball of all time is the Original IQ Tour Pearl "Gold Ball". So over the years Storm has made a few IQ Tour pearls, 30th Anniv. and Emerald to name a few. Now the IQ Ruby is released and it doesn't disappoint. Great shelf appeal with the bright Red color. I drilled mine 4.5 x 4 x 2 pin up. I was very impressed with the amount of overall hook that the Ruby has with a low diff core. For me the IQ pearls matches up with my roll perfectly. I can use the Ruby on house shots, usually 2nd and 3rd games when he heads get beat up a little. As the Ruby gives you that skid through fronts with ease, but with the quicker response down lane. Also on the sport patterns the Ruby shines the best when the lanes transition. With the lower RG and low diff, the Ruby is very controllable and stays on line. I have the Ruby below the Revanant, Phaze 5, Night Road and Zen. But stronger than the Hustle, Burner and Tropicals. I have drilled the Ruby for all styles of bowlers whether for the light or heavy handed players with great success. The Ruby is a must drill for any bowlers arsenal. Its that good of a ball. This ball is my life. I absolutely love it. I drilled the pin out with a layout that lowers the differential (change in direction), and it is amazing. Layout (5 x 4 x 3 ½) puts the pin in the ring finger. The biggest comparison is to the IQ tour solid which has been a ball in my bag for the last decade and I never plan on getting rid of it. Can you bring the IQ and Ruby in the same bag? Yes, with different layouts both balls play differently on the lane. I will have my IQ using a layout with a stronger pin (around 4 ½ inches) and the Ruby with a 5, and I can use the Ruby when the lanes hook earlier, or when I need the ball to get down lane with a similar shape. There Is nothing bad I can say about this ball, and everyone should have one.

Length: 41ft Volume: 28.5ml Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS COMMENTS Likes: The newest Pearl IQ is here! The IQ Ruby is the next installment in the IQ series for Storm, and it does not disappoint. I drilled my Ruby 4.75x4x3.75 2ls to create a little bit of a rounder shape off the end of the pattern instead of the skid/flip reaction I drilled a lot of my Emeralds to do. This ball is really clean through the front and I get a pretty consistent read off the back of the pattern. Dislikes: Sometimes this ball can be too clean which is where surface management and prep is going to come in to play for a lot of bowlers. Even with my higher rev rate, Reacta gloss provided to not be a good surface even on house. Nonetheless, This is definitely going to be a must in the bag for everyone that liked the Gold IQ and the Emerald. I think it's closer to the Goldie than the Emerald, but it still fits in that part of my bag. Get yours at your local VIP Proshop! Oliver Lawson Storm Staff
Why you "Gotta Have a Ruby!"

(Typical House Shot) • Modified, Kegel Stone Street Storm has taken the legendary success of their IQ Tour Series to another level with their release of the IQ Tour Ruby. With Storm's C3 Centripetal Control Core's superb reliability and the friction-biting R2S Pearl Reactive Coverstock, the new IQ Tour Ruby is the next "must-have" ball to add to nearly any bowler's arsenal! So, let's take a closer look at why you "gotta have a Ruby!" The C3 Centripetal Control Core may be a mouthful, but the word "control" is all you need to understand when it comes to the C3! Being a straighter player, I depend on a core's consistency and predictability to keep my A game in play. And the C3 symmetrical core does this exceptionally well. I can count on the C3 to rev up smoothly in the mid-lane without being overly aggressive and burning up its energy too soon. And with its stable and predictable motion, I can rely on the C3 to keep on "truckin'" for me off the pattern. And unlike other symmetrical cores that run out of gas because of my low rev rate, the C3 retains an intense amount of energy that erupts as it impacts the pocket and blasts it through the pin deck. So, if you're looking for a benchmark core, you can rely on and trust? Look no further; the C33 Centripetal Control Core is a great choice! The sharp-looking R2S Pearl Reactive Coverstock is an exceptional choice for the Ruby! And don't let the glossy finish fool you! The R2S Pearl Reactive Coverstock is a well-blended mixture that produces a flawless transition between skid, hook, and roll throughout a night of typical league bowling. However, being a straighter player, surface is my best friend. So for my straighter, high-speed low rev game, I took the R2S Pearl Reactive Coverstock to 1000-grit Abralon and followed it up with Storm Step #2 Compound, and the results were fantastic! I like how the R2S Pearl easily skated across the heads on a fresh THS but gently started gripping in the mid-lane. And when the Ruby finds the end of the pattern, the R2S Pearl performs at its best. I like how the R2S Pearl loves friction but isn't too quick or "jumpy" when it finds it. Instead, I found the R2S Pearl cuts through the pattern smoothly without sacrificing the power I needed for the pins. And I liked how the R2S Pearl methodically blended its way through the over/ under and spotty conditions that develop towards the end of the third game. So, clearly, after a night of league bowling, I could easily say the R2S Pearl Reactive kept me in my comfort zone all night with the IQ Tour Ruby! In conclusion, the IQ Tour Ruby is a great new release by Storm. Bowlers of many styles, speeds, and releases will find a place for the Ruby. And for that straighter and rev challenged bowlers like me, you will find a benchmark ball that will be there for you shot after shot! Storm IQ Tour Ruby
Posted by Mike LeViner on May 14th 2023
Layout: 45 x 4 3/8 x 40 The IQ Tour Ruby mimics the reactions of the IQ tour pearls before it, but in the Ruby color and with Reacta Gloss, it has a cleaner and quicker backend reaction. The Ruby, for me, is the flippiest ball in the Storm lineup currently. It is very clean in the front part of the lane, and turns quickly and sharply when it sees friction. With that comes some positives and some negatives; this ball is amazing when the lanes break down and circling the lane becomes necessary. When the lanes are fresh or the pattern is long, however, this ball can skid too far and become unpredictable. That's when equipment such as the Phaze II or DNA would be better suited.
My favorite ball right now
Posted by Johnny Quach on May 9th 2023
My absolute favorite ball right now! I loved the IQ emerald as well as the IQ Tour Solids and just cannot put this IQ Ruby down! Its amazing on house shots and looked pretty decent on the few sport shots Ive thrown it on. Its a great blend of control, hook, and length. I am also a fan of anything with R2S on it. For me, its a step down from the stronger or more angular balls like a Phaze 2 or Absolute, but still a step above something like a Hy-Road or Electrify. Obviously it makes a great 1-2 punch with the IQ tour solid, but is just an amazing ball overall and recommend it to everyone whether they are high rev or high speed or both or neither.

Will this ball hook more than the black widow hyrid
The Hammer Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid is more aggressive and has a higher hook potential than the Storm IQ Tour Ruby.
I roll a backup ball around 8or10 speed I I use roll from left side most of time is oil do you I could use this ball ball
This ball is rated to work best in medium oil conditions. The left side of the lane usually holds oil longer because less bowlers are left handed and bowling on that side of the lane so as a backup bowler and someone who goes to the left side of the lane you may prefer a ball that can handle a little more oil. The Storm Fate has good length like this IQ Tour Ruby but it has a stronger hook potential to be able to handle a little more oil.
Will this ball go long and rev up more .with control backend
Hello, this ball is designed to rev up toward the pocket with plenty of pin carry.
asym or sym ? also I have the Zen and Cosmos and Eternity . is this ball to similar to add to the bag ?
Hello Army Dad! The Storm IQ Tour Ruby has a symmetric core and is best on medium oil lanes with less hook potential than the Zen, Cosmos, & Eternity in your bag. So if you need an extra ball when the lanes break down a bit, this would be an excellent choice!
im looking for a ball inbetween a fate and a electrify go how will this work
The Storm IQ Tour Ruby would be a great fit between the Fate & Electrify G/O.
i looking for a ball inbetween a fate and a died down zen soul how will this play in my bag
Hello, the Storm IQ Tour Ruby is a step down to upper-mid performance compared to the high performance Storm Fate and 900Global Zen Soul.
Difference between Ruby IQ and Emerald IQ
Hello, the Storm IQ Tour Ruby is very similar to the Storm !Q Tour Emerald.
Is the ruby more versatile than the other balls like fate or revenant?
Hi Star! The Storm Revenant would probably be the most versatile while it is a mid performance ball for medium to heavy oil conditions. The IQ Tour Ruby is more for medium oil and the Fate is a high performance.
How does this compare to a storm fate?
The Storm Fate is a high performance ball for medium to heavy oil, while the Storm IQ Tour Ruby is an upper-mid performance for medium oil.
I currently have a Hustle USA. Is the iQ Tour Ruby too similar to my current ball to add?
Great question! The Storm IQ Tour Ruby would be more aggressive as an upper-mid performance ball than the mid performance Roto Grip Hustle USA.
How does the IQ Ruby and the Night Road compare, will they work good together? will
Hi Bob, the Storm IQ Tour Ruby would be more aggressive than the Storm Night Road.
How does this compare to the Storm Phase Iii ball!
Hello, the Storm Phaze III has a higher hook potential that the Storm IQ Tour Ruby.
How does IQ Tour Ruby react /perform when the lanes break down and oil gets thin? Will be a good transition ball?
This ball works best in medium oil conditions but with the polished finish and pearl cover you could still use this down into some lighter conditions. The only reason you may have trouble with this in lighter oil conditions would be if you were rev dominant and it may be a little too strong for someone rev dominant in lighter oil.
How does this ball compare to the zen? Also would I go good with the zen?
This ball would be a great complement to the 900Global Zen U!
How does this ball compare to Hyroad Pearl?
Hello! The Storm IQ Tour Ruby is more aggressive and has a higher hook potential than the Storm Hy-Road.
what the difference between iq ruby red ball and blue ball
Hello, the Storm IQ Tour Ruby has a pearl coverstock which reacts later on the lanes than the Storm IQ Tour (blue ball) which has a solid coverstock.
I have the summit and the phase 2 and the reveant would this ball go good with this arsenal
Hello Red! Yes this would be a great addition!
If I have the gem as my first ball out of the bag and the X-3 in my second ball slot would this be a good 3rd ball out of the bag?
Yes, this would be a great fit to use after your RST X-3 in medium lane conditions and possibly down into some lighter oil conditions. This gives you more length so that as the lanes transition it will not try to jump too early on you and will give a good backend reaction.
Looking to get Ruby IQ and DNA to replace Zen Master (polished) and Proton Physix (Sanded to 1000), Is DNA & IQ good options to replace with?
Hi Chris! The Storm IQ Tour Ruby & Storm DNA will be an awesome combination!
Would IQ Ruby be a good fit with Intense Fire, HyRoad X, and HyRoad Pearl
This could fill in the small gap you have between the Intense Fire and HyRoads to give you something that reads later than the Intense Fire but is still stronger than the HyRoads. I could see how this could be an option if you have a larger arsenal as a good medium oil ball and play the HyRoads in a little lighter oil conditions.
Would this ball get further down lane than the fate and be “weaker”?
If you are throwing both bowling balls in the same lane conditions the IQ Ruby would be later and weaker than the Fate. However, if you are throwing the Fate in a little heavier oil and throwing the Ruby in medium oil they would be closer in hook potential for those respective conditions and the Ruby would read just slightly earlier on its designed lane condition.
What is the best layout for two hand bowler
Hello! Here is a link to the manufacturer's ball page where you may view the drilling guide. https://www.stormbowling.com/q-tour-ruby-bbmvqb12
I roll the ball about 9 to10 miles per hour with that speed my ball. Snaps at the end and I get a lot of splits. I throw a 15# ball should I go to a14# what would you recommend
It can be hard to say without seeing exactly what is happening in person. If you were wanting to get more speed you could look at dropping a pound to see if that helps with your speed. A 14lb will not "drive" through the pins as well as a 15lb though so what you gain in speed you may loose in mass.
Does “No drilling” mean the ball comes without holes drilled?
Hi Randy, this ball would ship undrilled unless you added the Custom Drilling option for an additional cost.
Would this ball work on the USBC Nationals shot at South Point? at
This ball is USBC approved at the time I am replying to this so there should not be any issues using this ball at any USBC event.
Hello, I currently have a columbia c300 Authority solid would this ball complement my ball? If not could you recommend a ball that would?
Hi, Hammy! Yes, the Storm IQ Tour Ruby is a great choice!
What year did the IQ Ruby come out? Would the IQ Ruby and the DNA Coil be a good combination?
The release date for the IQ Tour Ruby was March 17th 2023. The combination of the DNA Coil and IQ Tour Ruby would be a great option with the DNA being the heavy oil ball to start the night and the Ruby being the back up option for when the DNA is ready too strong and/or too early as the lanes dry out. Both have a similar late hook reaction with their pearl coverstocks and gloss finish so you should not have to adjust too much as you transition.
Would this be a good step down from the storm phase 2 on league night
Yes, this would be a great option for when the lanes start to break down and reacts best on Medium Oil lane conditions.

Add your review! Performance without compromise for every game with every player - this is the mantra of the !Q Tour 30. The C3 Centripetal Control Core is engineered to yield ample midlane roll with its low radius of gyration. The famed R2S Pearl Reactive shell encases this core with superb dry lane traction. November 2015.
The Storm IQ Tour is the second of two balls released in the Master line from Storm this summer. The IQ Tour uses one of the greatest coverstocks in the resin era, R2S Solid Reactive. It also uses a popular core shape from Storm, but with a twist. The dynamics of the Centripetal core have been changed to give the IQ Tour a much lower differential.
The IQ Tour uses the fast-revving symmetrical C3-Centripetal Control Core with a low differential of .029 in 15 pounders. The Tour uses the R2S solid coverstock (4,000 Abralon box finish). The IQ Tour should be nickname "midlane". The Tour is a ball that is hard to throw through the breakpoint. This is a ball that just reads the lane the ...

The IQ Tour 78/U will have an earlier read on the lane and will have a stronger overall hook potential than the Hammer Purple Pearl Urethane. The strength of the coverstocks are fairly close but where the 78/U gets more hook potential from is the duller finish and also from the stronger weight block. This also makes the 78/U work better in ...
Int. Diff: 0.000. The much-anticipated Storm IQ Tour Nano pairs up one of Storm's most popular aggressive coverstocks, the NRG Solid Reactive Nano, with its extremely successful low differential C3 Centripetal Control Core. The box finish is the standard 1500 grit with polish, helping to ...

Storm IQ Tour Ruby. Posted by Mike LeViner on May 14th 2023 Layout: 45 x 4 3/8 x 40 The IQ Tour Ruby mimics the reactions of the IQ tour pearls before it, but in the Ruby color and with Reacta Gloss, it has a cleaner and quicker backend reaction. The Ruby, for me, is the flippiest ball in the Storm lineup currently.
The IQ Tour Fusion is exactly what you need because it yields the same strong, aggressive move to the pocket without the sensitivity to higher volumes of oil. The IQ Tour Fusion's surface roughness of the new R2S™ hybrid mixture is approximately 12% higher than the pearl, meaning that it can handle more oil, while the highly polished finish ...
