Hella Mega Tour
The Hella Mega Tour was a worldwide concert tour by the band Green Day , lasting from July 24, 2021 to July 2, 2022. The tour was also co-headlined by both Weezer and Fall Out Boy, who all three would play either their greatest hits or their newest work released around the tour's time. The purpose of the tour was to help show support for all of their newly released work, but for Green Day is called Father of All Motherfuckers , across 29 shows from two legs in North America and Europe.

Background [ ]
All three bands would announce the tour along with new material on September 10, 2019. Green Day that day would release their single called Father of All... along with announcing their new album called Father of All Motherfuckers. The tour was originally supposed to start around the beginning of 2020, but various legs and shows were postponed or cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On February 28, 2020, Green Day announced a number of shows from the now cancelled Oceania leg to be post-poned, before later being cancelled. As the end of May of 2020 followed, all shows were either pushed back to 2021 or were cancelled due to the pandemic. The Hella Mega Tour would officially begin on August 24th, 2021, with a sold out show in Arlington, Texas.
The tour was also supported by only two opening acts by different artists during the tour's two legs, with the exception of KennyHoopla taking the place of The Interrupters during the Summerfest 2022 Milwaukee concert. Amyl and The Sniffers would be the opening act of every show during the European leg of the tour.
Set List [ ]
During the tour, Green Day played a total of 27 songs, with 18 being apart of the setlist during every show. An average would have around 20 preformed songs, featuring no encores and almost none being from their most recent work. The following is a complete list of fully-played songs during the tour.
Tour Dates [ ]
Promotional performances [ ], reshuffles & cancellations [ ].
The tour was originally supposed to take place from March 2020 to August 2020 when the tour was first announced. However, due to the growing COVID-19 pandemic at the time, all shows were rescheduled to the summer of 2021, with the European leg being pushed further back to 2022. The Oceania leg would later cancelled around the summer of 2020, along with one show in Finland and Canada.
Rescheduled Legs [ ]
Both the North America and European leg were supposed to take place during the summer of 2020, when both were initially post-poned to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the Europe leg was then pushed further back to 2022 due to rising cases during the following year. During the schedule reshuffle, the Oceania leg would also be pushed back through to early 2021, before being ultimately cancelled. Out of the two remaining legs, only two concerts were cancelled due to the pandemic.
Cancelled Oceania Leg [ ]
The Oceania leg was made up of both concerts in Asia and Oceania, originally meant to kick off the tour starting in Singapore on March 8, 2020, before going through both current legs to end the tour at Auckland, New Zealand. However on February 28, 2020, all Asia tour dates were announced to be pushed back to early 2021. On July 15th, it was announced all Asia and Oceania tour dates would be cancelled and have their tickets refunded. Prior to the cancellation, the original tour dates for the Oceania leg were unchanged.
Special Cases [ ]
During the reshuffling of the European and North American tour legs, a show from Helsinki, Finland and one show from Toronto, Canada were ultimately cancelled due to the pandemic. During the first rescheduling, no shows from either leg were expected to be cancelled, but both concerts would not be considered for the second rescheduling.
Prior to the rescheduled European leg of the tour, Green Day would announce a solo concert in Moscow, Russia, originally expected to take place on May 24, 2020, before being pushed post-poned twice to May 29, 2022 due to the pandemic. However on February 27, the band would call off and cancel the concert due to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Reception [ ]
From the entirety of the Hella Mega Tour, the co-headlining band with Weezer and Fall Out Boy have estimated to gross well over $75 million between the three of them, with much of the profit coming from the North American leg alone, grossing over $65 million along with selling over 650,000 tickets. With the support for the new album, Green Day's Father of All Motherfuckers would sell over 240,000 copies both physically and digitally as of 2022. Despite the worldwide success of the tour, the album overall became the band's lowest selling work of their career. As for the singles releasing throughout the tour, they were widely received fairly decent from both fans and critics.

Line up and doors
As the tour’s title suggests this is a mega line up of acts. Joining Green Day on the day in Huddersfield will be Fall Out Boy, Weezer and Amyl and The Sniffers. It looks like being a great day for anyone who loves alternative music.
The gates will open at the stadium at 4pm but for anyone wanting to get down early the catering village will open at 2pm. It is expected Green Day will conclude their performance by 10.30pm. Out of the big three headliners, Weezer are set to be on stage first, then Fall Out Boy and finally Green Day.
We’d stress there’s been nothing confirmed just yet but there are proposed set times for Green Day and their support acts doing the rounds online.
We’ll bring you confirmed times when we have them but the below times are a proposed guide. Our advice would be, until their official confirmation to get in the stadium early to avoid disappointment.
Amyl & The Sniffers - 5.20pm - 5.45pm
Weezer - 6.05pm - 7.05pm
Fall Out Boy - 7.30pm - 8.30pm

For those travelling from outside of the town, who aren’t aware of where the stadium is, it signed posted when you arrive in Huddersfield. Please be aware there are major road works taking place on the A62 corridor in Huddersfield so please allow plenty of time for your journey. It is worth noting there is no drop off point at the John Smith's.
Bus numbers 202 and 203 depart from Huddersfield Bus Station, Stand Y and stop on Leeds Road which is five minutes from the ground. There will also be a shuttle bus service running from Huddersfield Train Station.
Banned items
There will be security checks entering the event grounds. You are allowed to bring bags but they have to be A4 size. Like any major event, organisers have a list of banned items which you are not allowed to bring to the site. This is to ensure the events can run safely for those attending. Items banned include:

- Laser pens/pointers
- Professional cameras/video equipment
- Signs, banners or flags
- Inflatables
- Selfie sticks
- Air horns, whistles or other noise making devices

The Hella Mega Tour comes in support of Green Day’s recent album Father Of All… , released on 7 February 2020 through Reprise / Warner Records.
Tour partners Fall Out Boy and Weezer have both recently released new material too, with the former unveiling their Greatest Hits: Believers Never Die – Volume Two in 2019, featuring the previously unreleased Dear Future Self (Hands Up) with Wyclef Jean, and Bob Dylan .
Weezer have dropped two new tracks, The End of the Game and Hero , taken from their forthcoming Van Weezer record.
Green Day’s Father Of All… LP marks the band’s thirteenth studio album and follows on from their chart-topping 2016 release Revolution Radio.
Forming in Northern California in the late ’80s, Green Day mixed punk rock with pop sensibilities to pioneer a new pop punk sound.
The trio first found huge commercial success with their 1994 effort Dookie.
Containing the singles Longview, Basket Case, Welcome to Paradise, When I Come Around and She, the album was a critical and commercial smash.
Dookie has sold over 20 million copies across the globe and in 1995 earned the band their first Grammy Award for Best Alternative Album.
The band have followed up the album with 1995’s Insomniac, 1997’s Nimrod, 2000’s Warning, 2004’s American Idiot, 2009’s 21st Century Breakdown , 2012’s trio of albums ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré! and 2016’s Revolution Radio.
Some of Green Day’s best-known tracks include American Idiot, Good Riddance (Time of Your Life), Know Your Enemy, Holiday, 21 Guns, Minority, American Idiot, Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Wake Me Up When September Ends .
Known for their mammoth setlists, Green Day have performed to packed out stadiums all across the globe. The last time the band played in the UK was for a sold out show at London’s Hyde Park in 2017.
The Hella Mega Tour will see the band joined by pop-punk veterans Fall Out Boy, known for tracks such as Sugar, We’re Going Down, I Don’t Care and Centuries. The band, comprising Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley most recently released their seventh studio album, Mania back in January 2018.
The trio of heavy-hitters is completed by legendary California rockers Weezer, whose hits include Beverly Hills, Island in the Sun and Buddy Holly.
Weezer, fronted by Rivers Cuomo, released their iconic debut self-titled full-length – since nicknamed the Blue Album – in 1994. 2019 saw the band unveil two brand new records – both the Teal and the Black album. They are now gearing up to release Van Weezer , inspired by their love of metal and building on their 2002 record Maladroit .
Catch Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer at the following UK shows next summer.
25 June 2021 – London Stadium, London 26 June 2021 – The John Smith’s Stadium, Huddersfield 28 June 2021 – Bellahouston Park, Glasgow
Original tickets remain valid. Remaining tickets for the tour are available now through Ticketmaster.co.uk.

After being postponed hella times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the highly anticipated Hella Mega Tour has begun. The trek kicked off on Saturday July 24, two years after the tour's initial announcement, in Arlington, Texas. Green Day, Weezer, Fall Out Boy and special guests The Interrupters played to a sold out crowd of approximately 35,000 (mostly unmasked) fans. Billie Joe Armstrong commented on the crowd during the set stating:
“Take a look around you. This is human contact. We cannot be locked up anymore. We need to be together.”
Los Angeles ska punks The Interrupters opened the Texas show with an 8-song setlist. They performed a cover of Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy," as well as their popular singles "A Friend Like Me," "Take the Power Back" and their last song of the set "She's Kerosene."
Weezer hit the stage directly after, to Van Halen's "Jump," as the first headlining act of the night. They performed a 17-song setlist, with Rivers Cuomo sporting a freshly cut mullet and stache. The band covered Toto's "Africa" and live debuted a portion of "California Snow" from their 2019 self-titled album.
Fall Out Boy's performance was fire- literally. The pop-punk band incorporated a touch of impressive pyro throughout their 15-song set. They played "A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More "Touch Me"" for the first time since 2016. See their setlist:
Lastly, Green Day took the stage with their opening track "American Idiot." The band continued their tradition of bringing a lucky crowd-surfing fan on stage during "Know Your Enemy." The band also covered Kiss' "Rock and Roll All Nite" and Operation Ivy's "Knowledge." Check out their first setlist from the tour's opening night:
