What people say

Susan  was a delight, a Cleveland native who loves her city and loves sharing it with others. The food was delicious and PLENTIFUL. I would highly recommend this tour and hope that she offers others in the future. We have been on others from other companies, but would look forward to doing a repeat of places with Susan as our leader!

I spent a delightful afternoon touring restaurants, bars and culinary shops in Ohio City with Susan from Relish Cleveland Tours! Her knowledge of this neighborhood was impressive.

Mp McGinley

My wife, daughter and I have been on food tours in 4 different cities and this one was one of the best. Susan did an excellent job keeping things interesting with a lot of facts and history to go along with the food.

Recapping how the 2024 Guardians got here

Cleveland weathered a wild grind as they surged ahead in the American League Central for nearly the entire season before briefly allowing the Kansas City Royals to tie them atop the division with 29 games left to play. Their record is 15-9 since that wakeup call.

It’s their fifth division title in the past nine years.

In his first shot as manager at the Major League level , Stephen Vogt is frontrunner for Manager of the Year with an incredible turnaround from last year’s team that appeared to be going through the motions after a strong run of three consecutive division titles and one painful 2016 World Series finale.

A newbie skipper, a starting rotation in shambles from opening day and a maturing lineup that found its groove to become the talk of the league. Cleveland’s comeback story is a fascinating one.

They did it all with brutal company. Taking out the lifeless White Sox, the Guardians battled the Twins (10-3), Royals (5-8) and Tigers (7-6) to an overall record of 22-17. All three are still fighting to snag a wildcard spot.

Their biggest strength has been their bullpen. The Guardians have the lowest bullpen ERA (2.61) in the MLB since 2015. In addition to that feat, Cleveland’s deep unit is topping the MLB in opponent’s batting average (.201) and opponent’s OPS (.602), among other statistics.

Flamethrowing closer Emmanuel Clase, who holds a 0.63 ERA, leads the American League with 46 saves and 64 strikeouts. He touts a 0.63 WHIP. After closing the door on the National League in the All-Star game , Clase has garnered some well-deserved Cy Young chatter .

BUY GUARDIANS PLAYOFFS TICKETS NOW

His bullpen mates, Cade Smith (1.96), Hunter Gaddis (1.51) and Tim Herrin (1.98) don’t get the spotlight, but have been lights out for most of the season, currently tallying ERA’s under 2.00.

Veterans Matthew Boyd (2.72 ERA) and Ben Lively (3.80) have emerged to help the battered starting rotation. Shane Bieber suffered season-ending elbow surgery after just two starts. Triston McKenzie and Logan Allen were demoted to Triple-A after pedestrian outings.

The bats have been bare on some nights. Others, they have exploded. Cleveland reeled off an MLB-best 42 comebacks, including the playoff-clincher in extra innings against the Twins on Sept. 19. Despite a 12-17 record in the month of August, the hope of October baseball never waned.

The offense was led by All-Star third baseman Jose Ramirez (37 home runs, 112 RBI). Fellow All-Stars Josh Naylor (31 home runs, 105 RBI), Steven Kwan (13 home runs, 43 RBI) and David Fry (14 home runs, 50 RBI) boosted the lineup throughout the season. Kwan was sizzling entering the All-Star break (.352) but saw a dramatic decline in the second half of the season.

They earned five All-Star nods.

Cleveland also received boosts from rookies Jhonkensy Noel (13 home runs, 28 RBI) and Kyle Manzardo (four home runs, 14 RBI). The latter has thrived since his second call-up to the Majors. When given the opportunity, Noel has become a consistent force with his power hitting and clutch at-bats.

That’s their story. No one saw it coming. Well, except the Guardians.

With the Magic Number to clinch a bye at one headed into their matchup against the Cincinatti Reds today , Cleveland awaits their fate as postseason baseball is back at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario.
