Nowadays Bukhara is unique museum-city: there are more than 140 architectural monuments located here. The earliest of them date back to the 9 th century – the Mausoleum of the Samanides. 50-metre high tower of the Kalyan Minaret looks over the city in all its splendor and no one will be indifferent to Ulugbek and Chor-Minor Madrassahs. “old Bukhara-city” is the only place in Central Asia where you can find all colors of the East and touch the mysterious soul of Bukhara.

Today Khiva is a city –museum. There are no high buildings and wide streets here. It is very hard to enumerate all the historic sites in Khiva. There are palaces decorated with colorful mosaics, air-brick houses and many madrassahs, minarets and mosques, such as the high and beautiful Islam-Hodzha Minaret.

Food: Plov is a national pride and joy, for which an excuse is barely required, from visiting guests and circumcision feasts to any occasion in everyday life. Uzbeks claim to cook over 100 types of plov, differing in rice, spices and extras such as raisins, quince or check beans. Example number two is shashlik, mutton kebabs from smoldering charcoal grills. Popular too are manty, big dumplings with chopped mutton and onion. Among various shurpas (soups) that is mutton meat and vegetable soups- are dymbul shurpa, with sweet corn, potatoes, and stuffed peppers; narkhot shurpa, with chickpeas; and chuchvara shurpa, with small mutton dumplings.

travel agency uz

Among the other soups- mastava a rice and vegetable soup, mampar – meat, friend egg and chopped noodles. And many many other tasteful dishes which you can enjoy during your trip over Uzbekistan…

ASTOUR | LET'S GET ACQUAINTED?

travel agency uz

Welcome to Uzbekistan - the country of sunshine, smiles and oriental hospitality. Uzbekistan is open to everyone - and I am sure that everyone will find what they are looking for here.

After all, Uzbekistan is ..

- rich history that goes back centuries

-delicious cuisine – it is just a paradise for gourmets

-a lot of beautiful locations for photos

- a lot of souvenirs for every taste..and most importantly - everything is handmade (we don't have «made in China») and most importantly - safety and the kindest people who will not leave anyone indifferent.

In your travels, I help in everything, yours Asiya Sharipova. Someone already knows me personally, I always try to see everyone upon arrival arrival on the first day, someone knows me only by correspondence, and is still thinking..should I go or not? Someone just became a new traveler on our page.

Many people ask me.. Where am I? Moscow? Minsk? No.. TASHKENT. I live in the country where I invite my guests. Every piece of Uzbekistan that I offer..It has been studied and traveled by me personally. That 's probably why none of your questions remain unanswered unanswered.

Therefore, who else does not know me..welcome to our friendly "Uzbek" team of travelers. Feel the oriental fairy tale of Uzbekistan the way I feel it.

GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS

Currency exchange: you can change money at the airport or at the hotel. There are ATMs, but they only accept dollars (euros are not accepted). If we change euros, then only at the bank or in the hotel "Uzbekistan", there is an exchange office around the clock.

In restaurants, bazaars, supermarkets — payment is made in soums.

Dollars are taken in souvenir shops.

If a purchase is large (carpet, for example), then you can pay by card.

Alcohol is sold only in specialized stores (not in supermarkets).

The crime rate is low, so there are no areas in the cities where you should not walk. You can walk everywhere. The people are very amiable. They are always ready to help in case you get lost.

Upon departure from the hotel, do not forget to take your passport and registration card (issued at the reception). When leaving the country, customs may ask about the place of residence. These cards will need to be shown.

Restaurants are open until 23.00

The food is delicious, there is no pork on the menu, mainly beef, lamb, vegetables. There are restaurants where there is no bar card. Before going to any restaurant, check if there is alcohol. In Samarkand and Bukhara, especially in the old part of the city, there are unlighted streets, so always be careful and look under your feet.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

All interaction between us takes place in 4 stages:

Stage 1. You leave a request on the website or write in WhatsApp or just call: expect a call / message from us, explain all the details, ask any questions about the tour.

Stage 2. We book a place in the group: you send a photo of your passport, we book you a place in the group, you make an advance payment of 30-35%.

Stage 3. We finally book a place in the tour: after buying the ticket, you send us a copy of it so that we know what time to meet you at the airport (if necessary, we will help you choose the optimal ticket for the flight to Tashkent).

Stage 4. Group chat: We add you to the group chat 5-7 days before the start of the tour. We get acquainted, plan and anticipate.

Stage 5. Full payment of the tour: the final payment of the tour is on the first day of the tour. You can pay for the tour in Tashkent in cash in US dollars (if available) or in cash in local currency (Uzbek sum)

Visa-free entry for up to 30 days: Tajikistan, Poland, Germany, France, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Israel, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey, Japan and other countries (85 countries in total).

Our tour is recommended for adults and children aged 10 and over.

The Standard group (15-19 people) - on a comfortable tourist class bus with 30 seats with soft drinks and air conditioning.

Mini group (7-8 people) - on a 10-seat minivan with soft drinks and air conditioning. The tour provides for all groups to travel from Tashkent to Bukhara and from Samarkand to Tashkent on a high-speed branded train "Afrosiab" or in rare cases, if there are no tickets on a fast train.

Uzbeks are an ancient people. In this country, national traditions have been formed for centuries. It is customary in Uzbekistan to treat guests with special respect. Not to welcome/receive a guest in compliance with folk customs means to disgrace not only your family, but also the village. Any host of the house will meet the guest at the gate, shaking hands, be sure to ask how you are doing, will ask you about the state of health.

Local currency - Uzbek Sum. The best and most convenient option is to have cash dollars and funds on a bank card with you. There are still not many places in Uzbekistan where you can pay with a plastic card, so the main payment method is cash in local currency

NOT included:

International flight;

Personal expenses;

Lunches and dinners, except those specified in the program

Departure is possible from any city. We can choose the best flight option for you. Arrival city is Tashkent. The city of departure back is Tashkent or Samarkand, if you decide not to go to the Tian Shan Mountains and finish the tour in Samarkand.

Uzbekistan has lifted ALL restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic for arrivals to the country from June 10, 2022. It is no longer necessary to present a COVID-19 test or a vaccination certificate to EVERYONE who crosses the border for tourism purposes by air, border railway stations and border checkpoints.

Hotels in the program:

Tashkent - Green Park / Level / Milan

Samakand - Gur Emir Palace / Dilmah/Silk Road Empire

Bukhara - Kukaldosh boutique hotel / Komil boutique hotel/ Fatima hotel

Khiva - Zarafshan boutique hotel / Muso tura hotel / Minor hotel

The tour includes free time in each visited city. We will also advise you where to take a walk, what to see additionally, as well as which souvenirs to buy in a particular city.

In the safety rating for tourists, Uzbekistan ranks 46th in the world and 1st among all CIS countries.

Our tour includes almost all basic expenses. In addition, you will need money for an international flight to Tashkent, meals outside the program, souvenirs for friends and relatives, tips to the guide and driver (welcome, but always optional and at your discretion)

1. Comfortable casual clothes for the excursion

2. For girls and women - stoles and shawls for entering some temples / mosques / tombs

3. Comfortable shoes for a trip to the mountains

4. Hats are required

5. Moisturizing and protective face and body creams for the hot season

Clade I mpox virus infection

Urgent public health message to all NHS service providers regarding Clade I mpox virus (MPXV) infection.

Actions for the NHS

Providers to ensure that relevant clinical services – including primary care, urgent care, sexual health services, paediatrics, obstetrics and emergency departments – are aware of the information in this public health message and that a differential diagnosis of Clade I mpox virus (MPXV) infection is considered in any patient who meets the operational case definition below.

Providers to ensure that they have adequate stocks of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and relevant staff are trained in its use for the assessment and treatment of patients presenting with suspected Clade I MPXV infection.

Providers to ensure there is a clinical pathway for isolation and management of suspected Clade I MPXV cases within their setting. This should include isolation of the patient, liaison with local infection prevention and control (IPC) teams, and arrangements for discussion of the case with local infectious disease, microbiology or virology consultants if a diagnosis of Clade I MPXV is being considered so that appropriate clinical management, including testing and infection control measures, can be implemented.

All samples from all individuals testing positive for mpox must be sent to the UKHSA Rare and Imported Pathogens Laboratory (RIPL) for clade differentiating tests.

Providers to note the information below for the clinical assessment and testing of patients with potential Clade I MPXV infection.

MPXV is a virus from the same family as smallpox, that presents with a rash illness which may be mild and localised, or severe and disseminated. There are 2 distinct clades of the virus: Clade I and Clade II. Clade II MPXV is responsible for the global outbreak that began in 2022. Clade I MPXV is currently considered more severe than Clade II MPXV , leading to its classification as a high consequence infectious disease ( HCID ).

Historically, Clade I MPXV has been reported only in 5 Central African countries. However, recent cases in additional countries within Central and East Africa mark the first known expansion of its geographical range, heightening the risk of spread beyond the region. Evidence of sustained sexual transmission of Clade I MPXV has emerged in the Democratic Republic of Congo ( DRC ). Healthcare professionals should remain vigilant for Clade I MPXV , including in sexually acquired mpox cases, and should obtain comprehensive travel histories from patients.

The symptoms of mpox begin 5 to 21 days (average 6 to 16 days) after exposure with initial clinical presentation of fever, malaise, lymphadenopathy and headache. Within 1 to 5 days after the appearance of fever, a rash develops, often beginning on the face or genital area and it may then spread to other parts of the body. The rash changes and goes through different stages before finally forming a scab which later falls off. Treatment for MPXV is mainly supportive.

Clinical assessment and operational mpox HCID case definition

The following patients should be managed as HCID cases (pending confirmation of clade type where appropriate):

  • confirmed mpox where Clade I MPXV has been confirmed
  • there is a travel history to the  DRC  or  specified countries  where there may be a risk of Clade I exposure
  • or a link to a suspected case from those countries (listed below), within 21 days of symptom onset
  • or there is an epidemiological link to a case of Clade I mpox within 21 days of symptom onset

The countries where Clade I cases have been reported, as well as countries bordering those with ongoing Clade I transmission are currently:

  • Republic of Congo
  • Central African Republic
  • South Sudan

Given the rapid spread of Clade I in the African region, please check the UKHSA mpox pages regularly for any updates to the countries included.

Mpox is not considered an HCID in the following circumstances:

  • a case has a laboratory confirmed Clade II mpox virus ( MPXV ) infection
  • a confirmed or clinically suspected mpox case of an unknown clade and none of the epidemiological characteristics listed above in the operational HCID case definition apply

Management of possible cases

Clinicians should be alert to the possibility of Clade I MPXV infection in patients presenting with suspected mpox where there is a link to the specified countries in the African region (as listed above). Clinicians treating patients with suspected mpox who may meet the operational case definition of an HCID (as outlined above) should discuss this with local infection specialists.

Infection Specialists should discuss all possible Clade I MPXV cases with the UKHSA Imported Fever Service ( IFS ) on 0844 778 8990 so that testing can be expedited. Patients with severe disease (who do not meet the operational case definition) should also be discussed with the IFS .

Individuals with clinically suspected mpox presenting to acute care settings who meet the case definition for possible Clade I MPXV infection should be isolated and managed as a HCID as outlined in the National Infection Prevention and Control Manual .

In outpatient settings, individuals presenting with clinically suspected mpox who meet the case definition for possible Clade I MPXV infection should be isolated appropriately (single room, closed door) and clinical staff should wear face fit tested FFP3 masks, eye protection, long-sleeved splash resistant gowns and gloves to provide care if immediately required.

Where suspected cases meeting the operational case definition present in primary care, General Practitioners should isolate the patient in a single room and contact their local infection service for advice, including appropriate arrangements for transfer into secondary care and immediate precautions in the setting.

All samples from all individuals testing positive for MPXV (regardless of whether there are potential links to Clade I or travel from the African region) must be sent to the UKHSA RIPL for clade differentiating tests.  UKHSA will contact Trusts for samples for any mpox cases for which samples have not been received for clade typing.

Cases of confirmed Clade I MPXV infection will be managed through the specialist network of HCID centres.

UKHSA ’s mpox resource collection  will be kept up to date with information on affected areas for the duration of the outbreak to assist NHS clinicians in diagnosis.

NASA Says Boeing Starliner Astronauts May Fly Home on SpaceX in 2025

The agency had insisted for a couple of months that it was confident that Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore would return on Starliner.

A long-exposure photograph shows the Boeing Starliner spacecraft docked with the International Space Station. It's nighttime on Earth, and the photo shows bright streaks from cities zooming by.

By Kenneth Chang

For weeks, NASA has downplayed problems experienced by Starliner, a Boeing spacecraft that took two astronauts to the International Space Station in June.

But on Wednesday, NASA officials admitted that the issues might be more serious than first thought and that the astronauts might not return on the Boeing vehicle, after all.

The agency is exploring a backup option for the astronauts, Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, to instead hitch a ride back to Earth on a spacecraft built by Boeing’s competitor SpaceX.

The astronauts’ stay in orbit, which was to be as short as eight days, could be extended into next year.

“We could take either path,” Ken Bowersox, NASA’s associate administrator for the space operations mission directorate, said during a news conference on Wednesday. “And reasonable people could pick either path.”

The announcement adds more headaches and embarrassment for Boeing, an aerospace giant that has billions of dollars of aerospace contracts with the federal government and builds commercial jets that fly all around the world.

In addition to the woes faced by the company’s civil aviation division after part of a 737 jet’s fuselage blew off during flight in January, Boeing announced on Aug. 1 that it was writing off $125 million of unplanned costs spent on the Starliner program, adding to $1.5 billion of earlier write-offs.

NASA and Boeing officials had maintained that the crew members who launched with Starliner on its first crewed test flight were not stranded in space. Ms. Williams and Mr. Wilmore have spent two months aboard the orbital outpost while engineers continue to analyze data about the faulty performance of several of the Starliner’s thrusters when it approached for docking, as well as several helium leaks.

NASA typically sends a contingent of four astronauts to the space station every six months to replace an earlier crew of astronauts who then return to Earth.

Under the contingency plan, the next SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule would travel to the space station with only two astronauts instead of four. Ms. Williams and Mr. Wilmore would then join as full-fledged members of the space station crew for a half-year stay and return on the Crew Dragon around next February.

“In the last few weeks, we have decided to make sure we have that capability there, as our community, I would say, got more and more uncomfortable,” said Steve Stich, the manager of the commercial crew program at NASA.

Mr. Stich said that no decision had been made but that one would have to be made by the middle of this month.

That Crew Dragon launch has been pushed back to no earlier than Sept. 24 to allow more time for NASA officials to contemplate what to do with Starliner. The launch had been scheduled for Aug. 18.

On Wednesday, a Boeing spokesman said in a statement: “We still believe in Starliner’s capability and its flight rationale. If NASA decides to change the mission, we will take the actions necessary to configure Starliner for an uncrewed return.”

During earlier news conferences, Mr. Stich and Mark Nappi, who runs the Starliner program at Boeing, portrayed the delays as prudent engineering measures.

Mr. Stich also downplayed the possibility that the astronauts would not return on Starliner. On July 10, in response to a question about whether NASA was looking at using Crew Dragon as a backup, Mr. Stich said, “Certainly we’ve dusted off a few of those things to look at relative to Starliner, just to be prepared.”

But he added that Starliner remained the “prime option.”

In the background, NASA had already started working on the backup plan. “We started in early July, doing some early planning with SpaceX for some of these contingencies,” Mr. Stich said on Wednesday. “Then as we got closer and a little bit more data, we started to put a few more things in place.”

A turning point was the ground testing of a similar thruster at NASA’s test facility in White Sands, N.M.

The thruster showed noticeable degradation after the tests. “A bit of a surprise to us,” Mr. Stich said. “And so that, I would say, upped the level of discomfort.”

A buildup of heat appears to have caused Teflon seals in the thruster to bulge and constrict the flow of propellant.

Another test, briefly firing the thrusters on the Starliner in orbit, went smoothly. Indeed, even the ones that had previously lost significant thrust performed close to normal.

That, however, was perplexing, as engineers could not immediately understand how Teflon seals would revert to their original shape, leading them to wonder whether they had missed another issue with the faulty thrusters.

“We can’t totally prove with certainty what we’re seeing on orbit is exactly what’s been replicated on the ground,” Mr. Stich said. “People really want to understand the physics of what’s going on.”

That spurred NASA to work more diligently on the backup plan.

That includes identifying Crew Dragon spacesuits that would fit Ms. Williams and Mr. Wilmore and making preparations so that the Crew Dragon could launch with fewer passengers. (The empty seats would carry ballast to replace the weight of the astronauts.)

Mr. Stich declined to say which two astronauts currently slated to fly on that mission, known as Crew-9, would lose their ride to orbit.

If NASA decides to go with the backup plan, Starliner would still return to Earth in early September, but without anyone aboard. That would free up a docking port on the space station for the astronauts on the next Crew Dragon. Then a Crew Dragon currently docked at the space station would return with four astronauts ending their stay at the space station.

With the delay of the next mission to the space station, the next people headed to orbit could be four private astronauts led by the entrepreneur Jared Isaacman, no earlier than Aug. 26. Their mission, named Polaris Dawn, is to take Mr. Isaacman and a crew to an orbit that stretches 870 miles above the surface, the farthest anyone has been from Earth since NASA’s Apollo moon missions more than five decades ago. Two members of the crew may also attempt the first commercial spacewalk .

Starliner is not the only spacecraft to experience problems en route to the space station this summer. Cygnus, a Northrop Grumman cargo spacecraft, launched on Sunday. But an engine burn to push it on a trajectory to meet up with the space station was canceled because of low pressure in the propulsion system. After analyzing the readings, Northrop Grumman engineers concluded the pressure was adequate and rescheduled the engine burns. Cygnus arrived at the space station early Tuesday at the originally scheduled time.
