We live in a subscription-obsessed world and there’s a subscription for everything you can imagine, from razors to clothing and even hot sauces. Travel memberships are on the rise, providing new ways to ease some of the stress that comes with traveling these days and help make the journey more seamless.

Whether you’re willing to pay a premium for exclusive travel experiences that provide a little more privacy or you're more budget-conscious and want to find the best travel deals, there’s a membership for every type of traveler. Here are 10 travel memberships that are worth considering.

Wheels Up offers private jet charter memberships so travelers can access a fleet of aircrafts, including a King Air 350i, an 8-passenger Citation Excel/XLS, and one of the fastest aircrafts, the Citation X. Wheels Up uses a dynamic pricing model offering competitive rates, so members can book flights on-demand with the flexibility to pay as they go.

Additional m embership benefits include invites to signature events, President’s Circle status with Hertz, a complimentary trial of Inspirato Club subscription for 12 months (Core members only), certain perks at select Waldorf Astoria hotels across North America, a partnership with Delta SkyMiles, dedicated partnership rates with Porsche and more.

Membership cost: Three membership options are available – Connect, Core and Business. These Private Travel Clubs Are Exclusive — and Affordable

If unrivaled access and seamless planning sound like your style, perhaps it’s time to sign up for a private travel group.

Andria Gutierrez is a marketing executive in Lake Tahoe, California, who loves to travel — but doesn't love the time suck of researching vacations. "When I was younger, I planned all my own trips," she says. "But now that I own a business, I just don't have the spare hours anymore."

That's why she recently joined Allcall , which offers personalized itineraries and exclusive deals to members. She's already taken three Allcall trips, including a multi-state ski trip and a vacation in Baja California, Mexico. "The team is incredibly helpful and responsive," Gutierrez says. "They make the planning process so efficient."

While some established outfits like Exclusive Resorts and Wheels Up have catered to the ultra-wealthy for years, a number of new clubs are opening their doors. One reason is, of course, a new obsession with safety.

"Health has become the paramount concern of our members," says Melissa Biggs Bradley, founder of Indagare , which plans and books trips for its members. "We have a ton of information on COVID protocols, and the team takes care of understanding those, even as they change all the time."

There are other factors at play. "I'd traveled independently for decades," says Suzy Kellems Dominik, an artist from New York City. But hearing about an opportunity to visit Modena, Italy, with acclaimed chef Massimo Bottura of Osteria Francescana was enough to convince her to join Prior , a company that started in 2019.

"What's so interesting is that they have this access," Kellems Dominik says. "It's intellectual and emotional travel — the imagination is just endless — and they curated a group of very interesting people who were all like-minded around food."

That ability to open doors is also drawing travelers who don't normally think of themselves as joiners. Around half of all millennials are now considering signing up for some form of travel club, according to one industry survey, outpacing the interest from Gen Xers and baby boomers. Even Exclusive Resorts, which charges an extra hefty fee per day for trips on top of the cost of membership, has seen a surge of interest from young families. In 2020, the company notched its best December in nine years, despite the pandemic.

So which of these clubs is right for you? It all depends on what you're looking for — and how much you're ready to invest.

"We create a social aspect, with people getting to know each other outside of just traveling together," founder Jeff Potter says.

The upstart wellness website and app MyLifeWell went live in 2020 with virtual fitness classes and a selection of workout gear. Now it connects subscribers with travel advisors who specialize in booking wellness retreats at Canyon Ranch properties, among others.

For the Commitment-phobic

The high cost of clubs has historically been a barrier to signing up. But in the spring of 2020, Prior lowered its price tag in an effort to draw together a more diverse group of adventurers. "I don't want a club in the sense of shutting people out," founder David Prior says. Travel + Leisure Co. launched its own affordable subscription club, promising preferential rates and insider experiences around the world.

Jayms blames One Ecosystem’s collapse on Georgi Georgiev

Titled “King Jayms’ Final Decision”, the video was uploaded to Jayms’ personal YouTube channel on May 13th, 2023.

Jayms opens the video by swearing allegiance to OneCoin’s Ignatova crime family;

I want it to be clear that Dr. Ruja and what she stands for, regarding her book “learning for profit” and the things that she teach [sic], I absolutely believe and I appreciate all that she has done.

Konstantin, the love and admiration that I have for him, is the only reason why I am still here today. I really trust and believe in the vision of Dr. Ruja, and trust and believe in the vision and leadership of Konstantin.

This is in stark contrast to what Jayms’ involvement in OneCoin’s One Ecosystem rebrand.

Indeed, one of the core marketing points of One Ecosystem is that Ruja Ignatova is a wanted fugitive and has nothing to do with the reboot.

Jayms also exhibits strong cognitive dissonance with respect to Konstantin’s 2019 guilty plea .

Said plea saw Konstantin acknowledge OneCoin was a Ponzi scheme and his role within the $4 billion scam.

Getting back to King Jyms, after swearing allegiance to the Ignatova crime family, Jayms throws what’s left of OneCoin’s Bulgaria-based management under the bus.

I no longer trust and believe in the management that’s in Sofia. The people that’s currently the management … I absolutely have no belief in anything that they’re deciding. Because they do not know, or love, or respect this project for what it is.

Jayms specifically cites “Desislava”, OneCoin’s Head of Payments:

This is the Sofia management. I am confident in what I am saying when I speak about the management in Sofia. Especially one particular individual, by the name of “G”, that you would know. (Ozedit: this is a reference to Georgi) (Georgi) has no love for this project nor any understanding of cryptocurrency and the ways it should be.

This individual has not, no one in Sofia management I know, have read Dr. Ruja book, “Learning For Profit”. How could you lead a vision of such a great visionary, without really understanding what she stands for and who she is? I just cannot be a part of something like this, which I believe is detrimental to individuals because of the behaviour of said management.

Far be it from me to defend what’s left of the OneCoin scammers in Sofia, but I have to point out Jayms’ hypocrisy.

In an email Ruja Ignatova wrote to co-conspirator Sebastian Greenwood in 2014, she laid out exactly what she stands for and who she is.

In the conceptual stage of planning, OneCoin’s internal name was “trashy coin”.

It might not be [something] really clean or that I normally work on or even can be proud of (except with you in private when we make the money) – but … I am especially good in this very borderline cases [sic], where the things become gray – and you as the magic sales machine – and me as someone who really can work with numbers, legal and back you up in a good and professional way.

In another 2014 email, Ignatova discussed “exit-strategies” for when OneCoin inevitably collapsed.

Take the money and run and blame someone for this (standard approach, see Wenyard).

This is who Ruja Ignatova was and defrauding consumers through a Ponzi scheme is what she stood for.

Ignatova’s OneCoin went on to defraud consumers out of over $4 billion. Jayms had no problem with inflicting detrimental financial harm, as long as he was profiting from it.

And that’s essentially the unsaid thrust behind Jayms’ dummy-spit.

Jayms goes on to feign astonishment at the lies used to market One Ecosystem to new victims.

I cannot watch and understand anymore what our goals are. When I have seen the coin go from 120 billion to 250 billion and the value remains the same, it cannot be that this alleged or this deployment that is taking place – where we are moving to a public blockchain only just to see the transaction on the blockchain, that’s all it is. It cannot be that this deployment, prior to it taking place, we had a population of 2.5 million people that had different wallets. Individual individuals holding ones that had the value at €42 euro. It cannot be that now we are less than one million. And I am confident, I’m sure I know for certain, that majority will not deploy. So it will never reflect 2.5 million different members on the blockchain. Never. So it will reflect one million at the most according to G. He expects 700,000. It cannot be that after the deployment period finish, which is not going to finish in 6 months – it’s going to be extended … it cannot be that we have one million people and the value remains the same. It’s just not possible.

I am no longer Captain because G made that decision. They used Madame Veska and I have the information that it was such.

At this point Jayms plays an indecipherable audio of what appears to be a conversation between himself, Veska and a translator.

Jayms represents Veska stumbled, at which point someone, in Bulgarian, commanded she “just say anything so you (I) can look like I’m translating”.

So Madame Veska allegedly spoke to me and told me that she’s “going in this direction and (it) was no longer necessary to be a Captain, because you’ll be up on this council and this council is gonna take care of the network”.

“Council” refers to One Ecosystem’s International Global Council. Jayms was demoted from Captain to the IGC in March 2023 – placing a rough datestamp on the recorded conversation between himself and Veska.

No, that’s not why. This decentralized concept of leadership, that’s not what they really want to do. They don’t want me to speak out. I have the details in that audio where it says, “Just say anything do it can look like I’m translating.” That do not seem like a management to me, that understands this project. It does not seem that Madame Veska has any authority.

In 2020 Veska headlined a OneCoin “legend” event , where she cut an awkward diminutive figure on stage.

What I don’t understand is I met these individuals that’s allegedly the management in Sofia. And when I met these individuals, every single one of them was an employee. They went from an employee into senior manager positions, where they’re making decisions to affect the project. I’m not speaking about “right click” and Mr. Vladislav; he has done what he could and he continues to do what he could. I’m not speaking about Ventsislav, the CEO, because he’s also a… what’s the polite way to say? A face, not necessarily a voice.

Vladislav refers to Vladislav Velkov, Global Director of DealShaker – OneCoin’s failed ecommerce platform .

Ventsislav is the previously cited OneCoin & One Ecosystem CEO Ventsislav Zlatkov.

I don’t know who “right click” is, or why Jayms is afraid of naming him/her.

I’m not speaking about these individuals … I’m speaking about Mr. G in particular. Georgiev as you may or may not know, who is really making decisions in Sofia and absolutely crashing the project. And I will not stand by while it seems they want to collect every euro they can to disappear. I will not help with anything like this.

Jayms goes on to suggest a lot of money is missing from One Ecosystem’s books.

Jayms claims the current state of One Ecosystem is “appalling and disturbing”.

Citing “high blood pressure” and “stress” as reasons he ditched OneCoin and the One Ecosystem reboot, Jayms goes on to pitch an unnamed company he’s signed with since leaving.

I know many, many, many have told me, “King we believe in you. We don’t believe in Sophia management. We don’t believe in the Bulgaria management. We believe in you and we stay because of you.”

What impact Jayms abandoning One Ecosystem has on what’s left of OneCoin remains to be seen.

Just announced at the “One Ecosystem Official” -Telegram channel, One Ecosystem “temporarily” stops their One Voyage platform. “Surprisingly” it didn’t work out with their partner G2GO Travel Club.

As Disney has raised the cost of tickets and hotel rooms at its theme parks, and added pricey, difficult-to-navigate tools, even its most loyal fans are asking themselves if they should rethink their vacations.

Earlier this year, Jake Williams, a filmmaker and content creator in Toronto, made his long-awaited return to one of his favorite places on earth: Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. After traveling to Disney World and Disneyland multiple times a year since childhood and becoming an annual pass holder as an adult, Mr. Williams hadn’t been to a Disney park since 2019.

“As someone who went all the time, it’s crazy to me that I hadn’t gone to a Disney park in that long,” he said in a phone interview. “It’s a special place. ”

Before his trip, Mr. Williams heard about some changes at Disney World, but he didn’t anticipate how different things would be, starting at the airport. Since his last visit, the company had gotten rid of the Magical Express, a free bus that for more than 15 years shuttled people from Orlando International Airport to their Disney resorts. Guests must now take a shuttle that costs between $23 and $30 per adult each way, depending on the time of year, use a ride share service or rent a car.

To Disney-goers, the end of the Magical Express speaks to a larger issue: The cost of being at the happiest place on earth is going up while the perks are going away. As the company has raised the price of tickets and hotel rooms, and added costly, difficult-to-navigate tools to book rides as replacements for previously free products, even its most loyal fans are asking themselves if it’s still worth it.

Mr. Williams said that a day in the Orlando parks and a one-night stay at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort cost a “jaw-dropping” $886.34 for two adults. He decided to calculate how much the same trip cost in 2017 — a year when he visited the park several times. The cost: $567.90. Even accounting for inflation, he was stunned.

“It’s hard to justify going to Orlando rather than, like, Iceland,” he said. “When you have a budget like this, you can go a lot of places and see and do a lot of things. You could even do a Disney cruise for less than that.”

Epcot’s Italy, or Italy?

He’s not alone. Len Testa, president of Touring Plans , a site that helps travelers organize Disney trips, and a co-author of “The Unofficial Guides to Walt Disney World and Disneyland,” said that he increasingly hears from Disney lovers who are now planning other types of vacations.

“At some point a Disney vacation starts competing with ‘Let’s go see Europe’ and I think that’s what a lot of people are doing,” Mr. Testa said. “I’ve had a number of people in the last few years say, ‘We priced it out and we could take our children to eat pizza in the Italy pavilion in Epcot or for the same money we could actually go to Italy for two weeks. We’re going to go to Italy for two weeks.’”

For Mr. Testa, collecting data about Disney is a passion. In the late ’90s, as a graduate student in computer science he decided he wanted to build a computer program that could help people navigate Disney World as efficiently as possible. That research continued through his Ph.D and the program he created turned into Touring Plans. His team of developers and data scientists model what’s going on at Walt Disney World on a minute-by-minute basis every day. The data they’ve collected in recent years shows that the cost of a Disney World trip, on average, has gone up almost 25 percent since 2019. Seventy percent of that increase is for services that used to be free.

The prices of parking and entry tickets have consistently risen in recent years. In 2022 ticket prices went up two times. In 2023 annual passes saw a $30 to $50 increase, depending on the tier, while multiday tickets also went up. A one-day ticket to either of Disney’s U.S. parks now costs $109 for anyone over the age of 10.

One analysis concluded that between 2014 and 2025, the base price for tickets has gone up 32 percent and increased by 90 percent for the highest-priced tickets. In 2025 the base price for an adult one-day ticket will be $119 and the higher tickets will be $199. Hotel prices have also risen. The cheapest hotels at Disney World now cost an average of $187 per night, according to Disney Magic Guides , a resource for planning trips to the parks.

In an earnings call this week , Disney’s leaders acknowledged that they’ve seen a slowdown at the parks and that, because of the economy, lower-income visitors are financially stressed, while higher-income guests are traveling internationally. And Disney is not alone: Tickets for Universal Studios in Florida and in California often cost as much as Disney tickets. In July, Comcast said Universal’s revenue fell by 11 percent in the prior quarter, with visitors turning to cruises and international travel.

In an email, a spokeswoman for Disney said the company is always trying to offer guests an array of tickets and experiences. To the company, and its most loyal fans, she said, the value of the experiences is worth the price.

“We are purposeful about creating more ticket and hotel price points than ever before to provide guests a variety of opportunities to visit our parks,” she said, adding that “a visit to a Disney theme park is a 10- to 16-hour experience with attractions, entertainment and more.”

Apps overload

For many guests, price isn’t the only hurdle. Visitors now have to navigate several new apps and tools if they want the best chance at getting on the most popular rides. In the past, they could get a free FastPass, which allowed them to go to the front of a line for a ride. In 2021, Disney replaced the FastPass with a digital feature called Genie+ that park goers had to pay for and that was supposed to make booking rides more efficient. Instead, it caused so much confusion that content creators started making videos that showed viewers how to “hack” the tool.

To get the best out of Genie+ guests had to buy the app early in the morning ( avid park-goers recommended doing so at 6 a.m.) and then, at 7 a.m., they would book rides for the day. They could only book more rides after they’d completed their first activity or two hours after making their first reservation. And they couldn’t choose what time they wanted to get on a ride — Genie+ would do it for them. Mr. Testa said all of this led to “Disney complexity fatigue.”

“ God forbid on your vacation, you want to go back to your hotel and take a nap,” Mr. Testa said. Others said having to always be on their phones took away from the experience of being on vacation.

Disney heard the complaints. In July, Genie+ became Lightning Lane Multi Pass, which makes it possible for people to reserve rides ahead of time, instead of on the day they are in the park. The new system, which starts at $30 a day, is an attempt at mixing Genie+ and FastPass, but only those willing to pay extra can use all the features. The Disney spokeswoman said that so far, guests are “very pleased” with Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Reviews on social media show that it may be too soon to tell. On Reddit, reviewers lamented the different prices for Lightning Lane passes, with one person saying she “despised the process” of booking in the new system so much she felt like throwing her phone.

Jeremy Sonkin, a Chicago-based content creator who makes videos about theme parks, was at Disney World on the first day the new system was available. He said the new app is less confusing than Genie+, but it doesn’t feel like an upgrade.

“The idea and thought behind trying to bring back the ‘Fast Pass plus’ system is correct, but it’s not a level playing field and I can see this causing just as much, if not more, frustration from guests,” he said.

Greg Antonelle, the managing director of MickeyTravels , a travel agency that focuses on booking Disney trips, said his company is having a great year, with travelers looking to experience new rides like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure , which replaced the old Splash Mountain ride. He said that complaining about Disney is par for the course.

“We’ve been in business for 13 years and we’ve heard complaints about cost for 13 years,” Mr. Antonelle said. “It’s nothing new.”
