Multiple entry 5-year tourist visa

Who is a tourist visa for, who can apply for your tourist visa, related eservices.

The multiple entry 5-year tourist visa enables tourists to enter the UAE multiple times on self-sponsorship and remain in the country for 90 days on each visit, and can be extended for further 90 days. This type of tourist visa can be issued for all nationalities.

To obtain this visa, the applicant must have:

• a bank balance of 4,000 USD or its equivalent in foreign currencies during the last six months
• a valid health insurance policy applicable in the UAE
• a ticket to and from the UAE

Documents required

To apply for the multiple entry tourist visa, the applicant must provide the following:

• a colored photo
• a copy of the passport
• medical Insurance
• bank statement for the last 6 months with a balance 4,000 USD or its equivalent in foreign currencies
• tour programme
• a ticket for onward journey.

Tourist visa is for those who are not eligible for  visa on arrival  or a  visa-free entry  to the UAE. Tourist visa can be obtained for eligible individual tourists from around the world. Females below the age of 18 are not eligible to apply for this type of visa unless they are travelling with their parents.

According to a Cabinet resolution passed in July 2018, children under the age of 18 years who are accompanying adults, can get a  free visa for their visit from 15 July to 15 September each year.

Tourist visas through airlines

Tourist visas through agencies and hotels

Licensed travel agents and hotels in the UAE can arrange a tourist visa for you provided you purchase the ticket through them and maintain hotel reservation with the specific hotel.

You can also contact travel agencies in your country for any tourist packages available to the UAE in collaboration with a local tour operator.

It is important to check the authenticity of travel agents you are dealing with and refrain from paying or sending copies of your official documents until after you are 100 per cent sure the tour operator is genuine. You can seek the help of the  UAE embassy in your country  for verification.

Note: The UAE embassies do not issue tourist visas. In order to get a tourist visa to the UAE, you need to get in touch with one of the UAE-based airlines, a tour agency or a hotel (where you intend to stay) in the UAE who will apply for visa on your behalf to the official  visa-issuing authorities  in the UAE.

90 Days Visit Visa : This Visa is valid for 90 days availed by travellers having a longer stay in UAE. This type of Visa is preferred by travellers going to UAE for holidays, visit family / friends or for business trainings etc. The validity of the visa is for 58 days from the date of issue. After entry in Dubai stay validity of visa can be extended twice with first extension allowed for 30 days and second extension for 20 days. Extension fee is AED 850 each time.

Please Note: The cancellation charge per visa is 1830 PHP. Cancellation request can be raised with the application centre where you have submitted the visa application and for applications that are approved.

Note: Applicants can qualify in any one of the below criteria for Dubai Visa Application.

Criteria I: Travel Record

Applicants who have travelled at least once in the last 3 years to or has a valid visa for countries like USA, UK, Schengen countries, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Japan.

Documents Required:

• Pages in the Previous / Current passport exhibiting the evidence of the travel / visa stamped.

Criteria II: Financial Records

Applicants not qualifying as per Criteria I (Travel Record) are required to submit either last 2 Years Form of 2 Years Income Tax return with a minimum gross income from business, profession or employment, which should exceed PHP 200 thousand Per annum.

Investments amounting to PHP 500 thousand or above, in form of fixed deposits in Banks.

** Investments to be a year prior from the date of application with a validity of more than 06 months, Investments in Co-operative Banks or Societies are not acceptable.

Security Deposit equivalent to USD 1200 (Refundable upon return and after producing the entry & exit stamp in UAE)

Criteria III: Invitation from immediate family member residing in UAE on family status

Spouse and children below 21 years of age AND / OR parents above 60 years of age can be invited.

• Invitation Letter with a copy of the UAE Residence Visa and Labour Contract attested by the Emirates Commercial Visa Section in UAE. Marriage certificate in case of invitation for spouse and Birth Certificate in case of invitation for children.

Criteria IV: Travel Agent Guarantee

Travel agents can give an indemnity letter on their company letterhead (as per format provided) to guarantee that their customers would return back as per the ticket itinerary. They would be liable to pay the penalty in case of applicant overstays in UAE.

Additional documents required in below specific circumstances

• Student Traveling without Parents – NOC letter from parents. Photo identity of Parents / Guardian. (/Passport/Driving License), Financial Documents of Parents, Student ID card and Hotel / Relative address details in UAE.
• Hall ticket copy specifying the date and venue in case the applicant is appearing for an exam.
• Newly Married Couple: ***In case of the spouse name not endorsed on the passport. Marriage Certificate / Notarized Affidavit.
• Original Passport for verification purpose (Must be valid for more than six months)
• Coloured Passport Copies - Photo page, Bio Page and Profession page, expiry and any other special endorsement page
• One Coloured Passport Size Photograph (Indicate full name on the reverse side of the photo and PPT No)
• Confirmed onward or return ticket copy of Emirates Airline
• Copy of National ID for Philippines nationals; for other Nationals Copy of Work / Residence Permit in Philippines or Dependent Pass.

Now that you are ready with all your documents, Visa Application Form and other requirements, applicants can now visit the nearest visa application centre to apply for their visa to UAE.

Alternatively the applicants can click here to submit their visa application form and upload their documents online. The payment can then be made at the nearest Visa Application Centre. This option can be used only if the applicant has a confirmed ticket on Emirates Airlines. Please ensure all original documents are taken to the visa application centre for verification purposes.

• Ensure coloured photos are as per specifications Size 4.3 cms x 5.5 cms preferably white background.
• Attach all Mandatory Documents as per checklist. Make sure your application is complete. Incomplete applications are not accepted.

Short Term Visit Single Entry – Tourist : The entry validity for all types of tourist visa is 58 days from the date of issue (Valid untill date mentioned on visa). Normal Visa Processing Time: 3 – 4 working days from the date of submission (except Saturday,Sunday and any UAE Holiday)

DURATION OF STAY : 48 HOURS

48 Hours Visa: This Visa is valid only for 48 hours stay (As per flight schedule - Arrival/departure time in Dubai). This is Single Entry visa. Ideal for travellers to the UAE who plan to stay for a period of less than 48 Hours. This type of Visa is preferred by travellers having business meetings or taking stopovers en route to their onward journey. The entry validity of the visa is for 30 days from the date of issue.

Kindly Note: The above visa is valid for a period of 30 days from the date of issue.

• Confirmed onward ticket copy of Emirates airline.
• Confirmed onward ticket copy of Emirates Airline

DURATION OF STAY : 96 HOURS

96 Hours Visa: This Visa is valid only for 96 hours and is ideal for travellers to the UAE who plan to stay for a period of less than 4 days. This type of Visa is preferred by travellers having business meetings, point to point travel or taking stopovers en route to their onward journey. Visa is valid for 30 days from the date of issue.

• Confirmed Onward or return ticket copy of Emirates airline. **
• Note: At the time of entry, the passenger must prove that they have enough financial resources to cover their expenses during the trip and a confirmed hotel booking**
• Additional documents to be provided based on the eligibility criteria.

DURATION OF STAY : 60 DAYS

60 days Visit Visa : The entry validity for all types of tourist visa is 58 days from the date of issue (Valid untill date mentioned on visa). After entry in Dubai stay validity of visa can be extended twice for 30days each.Extension fee is AED 850 each time.

If your loved ones are planning a trip to the UAE, here's a reminder: Tourists can apply for a family group visit visa, which is free of cost for children.

Under the scheme, children under the age of 18 can be granted a visa for free while usual charges apply to their parents.

“The application for this visa should be submitted along with either father’s or mother’s application,” said Subair Thekepurathvalappil, senior manager for inbound and outbound operations at Regal Tours Worldwide.

Industry experts said several visitors had been opting for this entry permit.

“A family group visit visa is more convenient and cost-effective for families, given that there is no visa fee for children under the age of 18,” Subair said, adding that there are no restrictions on the number of children who can apply for the permit.

The free visa is also applicable even to children who are travelling with just one parent, he explained. It is available for a 30- or 60-day stay, which can be extended within the country.

With the festive season just around the corner, several family group visit visas are being issued every day — particularly to Indians who wish to celebrate Diwali in Dubai, said Firoz Maliyakkal, founder and CEO of Tahira Tours and Travels.

This visa, however, is not new. It was introduced two years ago and has since been a popular option for visitors from around the world.

How to apply

• A family will have to submit copies of their passports and photos — all at once — to a travel agency.
• Fees are paid. Note that though the visa is free for children, travel agent service charges and insurance fees will apply.
• The agency then processes the application.
• The visa is usually issued in a day or two.
• Visa fee for parents, along with the service charge for children, may vary depending on the travel agency.
• A 30-day visa for a parent ranges from Dh350 to Dh500.
• Service charge and insurance for a child range between Dh80 and Dh120.
• A 60-day visa will cost Dh500 to Dh650, while the service charge, including insurance, may vary from Dh130 to Dh170.

Experts say the family visa can be extended without exiting the country, “however, a full visa fee has to be paid for children. The extension within the country is not free for children", said Subair.

“Visitors can extend the family visa for up to 120 days without exiting the country,” he added.

UAE VISA (For DUBAI & ABU DHABI): Requirements & How to Apply

One of the highlights of last year for me was my short stop in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). I was there for two reasons: to visit one of my closest friends, who moved to Dubai a few years ago, and to take advantage of a stopover. I was coming from a longer trip around Morocco and Turkey, and my flight back to Manila (Philippines) was connecting at Dubai Airport, so I decided to just seize the opportunity and stay there for over a week.

UAE Visa is probably the easiest visa we got. It was expensive, but it was relatively effortless, especially given that we have a friend in Dubai, who served as a sponsor.

Yep, sponsor. If you’re applying for a UAE Visa, you need a sponsor. It can be a family member, a colleague, or a friend. This will make things a lot easier. If you don’t know anyone there, an airline, hotel, or travel agency can sponsor you.

In the beginning, we had a difficult time figuring out the process. There’s just so much info online and they somewhat say different things because they serve their own interest. For example, some UAE-based airlines also offer visa services but they require flight tickets booked with them. Dozens of hotels are also authorized to process visas, but many of them require that book rooms with them (for obvious reasons). In this post, I’ll try to summarize everything so you have all possible options.

WHAT'S COVERED IN THIS GUIDE?

Who needs a UAE Visa?

Since I am a Philippine passport-holder, I had to secure a visa first before entering UAE. Not everyone needs a visa, though.

• If you’re a citizen of any member-state of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), no visa is needed . Here are the six GCC members: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar*. I’m putting an asterisk on Qatar because although it is a member, its diplomatic ties with UAE and other members have been severed in a rift that began in June 2017.
• Visa-on-arrival is available free-of-charge for the citizens of the following countries : EUROPE: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Switzerland, Sweden, UK, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Hungary, Latvia, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Finland, Spain, Monaco, Vatican, Iceland, Andorra, San Marino, Liechtenstein, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Malta, Cyprus, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, ASIA: Brunei, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore OTHERS: United States, Australia, New Zealand

For the rest of us, a visa is required.

Note that this doesn’t get affixed to your passport. A regular 30-day tourist visa must be used within 60 days from the date of issuance.

TYPES OF UAE VISA

Travelers visiting the UAE for leisure has three visa types to choose from depending on your purpose and travel duration.

• Visit Visa , if you’re traveling to UAE to visit an immediate family member who is a resident of the UAE (sponsor). The family member must be earning more than AED 4000 or AED 3000 + accommodation. The sponsor should be the one to apply for you.
• Tourist Visa , if you’re visiting a distant relative or friend or if you don’t know anyone there. The regular single-entry visa can let you stay for up to 30 days, although a multiple-entry visa is also available. If you know someone in UAE, it would be faster and easier if they apply for you. But if you have no connections, you can get a visa via an airline, hotel, or travel agency. (More info about that below)
• Transit visa , if you’re visiting UAE for at least 8 hours but not longer than 4 days (including the arrival and departure days). This can also be pre-arranged. This visa can be used within 14 days from the issue date.

Here’s a quick summary of the validity, maximum number of days allowed, and costs per visa type. I’m also indicating a range of prices per type. Rates vary greatly, depending on where you apply.

None of these visas can be extended.

In June 2018, the UAE Government approved the waiving of fees for transit visas for 48 hours. However, I have no idea about details of this: until when it will be implemented or what requirements are needed. The announcement, however, states that transit visa may be extended for up to 96 hours for a fee of AED 50.

Important : In a memo released on June 2, 2017 , Dubai’s Immigration has ordered agencies to stop accepting applications for 90-day visit visas from Filipino and Pakistani citizens for the next 3 months. Not sure if this will be restored in the future but until further notice, this option is no longer available for travelers from the Philippines and Pakistan. Update (Oct 2018): This has been restored.

UAE VISA REQUIREMENTS

The following are the required documents when applying for a UAE visa. These are the basic requirements.

Your sponsor may add more. For example, if you book your visa via Etihad Airways, they will ask for Etihad flight tickets. If you book with a hotel, they can demand that you reserve a room with them. Travel agencies often don’t have these extra reqs, but as I scanned prices, I found theirs to be a bit more expensive. Some agencies ask for flight and reservations too, some don’t. The agency where we applied didn’t ask for these so we didn’t submit.

Anyway, here are the required documents when applying for a UAE (Dubai) visa:

• Clear scanned passport copy (the bio page and the last page). Must have at least 6 months validity.
• Scanned colored passport-size photo . 4.3 x 5.5cm. White background. At least 80% of your face must be visible.
• Accomplished application form . It is usually the sponsor (travel agency, host) who does this.

If you’re sponsored by someone in the UAE , they will also be asked for a copy of their Resident Visa and their Emirates ID (resident card).

If you’re a parent traveling with a minor (18 years old and below), you must also submit a copy of birth certificate of the minor

If applying for a transit visa , a hotel reservation and onward flight ticket are usually collected too.

Additional requirements for visit visa

Additional requirements if visiting immediate family:

• If sponsored by a wife or husband : marriage contract attested from Ministry of Foreign Affairs or UAE Embassy
• If you’re a minor getting sponsored by a parent in UAE , attested birth certificates
• If your relationship with sponsor cannot be proven from family names displayed on the sponsor’s and the invited relative’s passports: Relationship proof attested from the Embassy
• If your sponsor works for a private company : Attested work contract
• If your sponsor is a UAE government employee : a salary certificate

Optional Documents

The following documents are NOT required. These are often ignored, but the travel agency or sponsor may ask for in order to speed up processing of your visa.

• If you have traveled to UAE within the past year , a copy of the entry and exit stamps on your passport
• If you have traveled to the USA, UK, Schengen countries, Canada, Russia, Australia or New Zealand within the past 5 years, submit a copy of your visas.

WHERE TO SUBMIT YOUR UAE VISA APPLICATION

Once you have all the documents, it’s time to find a “sponsor”.

Like I said earlier, a sponsor can be a family member or a friend living in UAE. It will be much faster if they take care of the application. Just send them your papers. But if you don’t know anyone there, an airline, hotel, or travel agency in UAE can serve as your sponsor.

UAE-based Airlines

• Etihad . You can apply here .
• Emirates . More info here .

Most 3-star hotels (and up) are able to process UAE visas. So if you’re already eyeing a hotel, send them an email if they also offer visa services because there’s a big chance that they do.

You may also check their official website. For example, Jumeira Group — which owns and runs the Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel, Madinat Jumeirah, Jumeirah Living World Trade Centre Residence, Jumeirah Creekside Hotel — provides plenty of visa info on their website. If you would be staying at any of them, you may apply here .

UAE Travel Agencies

In our case, my friend in Dubai who took care of our application went to a travel agency and it went smoothly. We didn’t run into any problem. You can also avail of their services if you don’t know anyone. Here are the details of the agency that processed our application:

Hi Ann. To be honest, in our case, we didn’t present the original pink visa, just a printed out online copy. We didn’t run into any trouble. However, we also heard stories (other travelers) na hindi daw nga tinanggap kung hindi original. So my advice is to just get the original copy to be safe.

Hi Mia! The pink visa is the original copy of the visa. We’ve heard from other commenters that Immigration asks for this, but in our experience, we just presented a printed our copy of the visa emailed to us and they accepted it. So we’re not sure if it’s really a requirement. If you can secure a pink copy, that would be best.

You will still need a visa. Best if yung parents nya ung magpo-process kasi andun na sila.

But please make sure you also secure a DSWD clearance since you’re traveling with a minor without either parent.

Hi Po. Good evening. I have a questions po. This year lang Month of May pumunta kami ng Foreigner Boyfriend ko sa Hongkong, Thailand, at Singapore. Hi Jheyann, the validity of the visa is different from the duration of stay. The length of stay depends on what you’re applying for. The standard visa is good for a 30-day stay. A 90-day-stay visa is available now too, but I think you have to justify why you need to stay that long.

Hi my bf currently suffered from a serious car accident in abu dhabi, thank God he survived. But I think he is going through depression ever since the accident. He is not in good terms with this family and so he’s been badly asking me to visit him there in UAE. He works there with a single entry, unlimited years visa so leaving uae to have a vacation in the philippines or anywhere else outside uae wouldn’t be a good choice. Hi Chacha, I don’t think your income matters in the visa application. Your occupation will be displayed on your visa, but they usually don’t ask for proof.

However, even if you’re able to get a visa, you still have to go through PH Immigration, which is by far stricter. If you’re unemployed and your destination is Dubai, you’re likely to undergo secondary inspection because UAE is a “hotspot” destination for them. In this case, you will have to provide proof of your relationship with sponsor and proof of employment/financial capability of your sponsor.

Dito po ba sa PH immigration, my friend already gave me scanned copies or her passport, emirates ID, work documents etc., kailangan pa ba ng letter of invite from the friend? or enough na yung mga binigay niya as supporting documents plus the visa of course.

Ideally, to be safe, mas okay if you have a letter of invitation. But in reality, madalas, they don’t look for this document. Pero if matapat ka sa strict na officer or if pagdudahan ka nila, they can ask for an invitation.

Complete Guide to Apply for Dubai Tourist Visa for Filipinos

Submitting the visa application for the Filipino tourist has become really flexible and easy due to the UAE government and its facilities. At first, the tourist needs to provide a submission at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates for personal filing. Tourists travelling via Etihad Airways or Emirates can submit their visa application to the respective airways as well.

Is appointment needed for UAE tourist visa?

For Filipino tourists, they don’t need to book an appointment to submit their visa. They can directly from the embassy office or even apply online on their website. The tourists are advised to come to the office between 9.00 am to 12.00 pm to apply for the visa. The documents will be collected by the embassy from 2.00 to 3.00 pm.

Things needed for tourist visa application to Dubai

Important documents which need to submit for Dubai visa for Filipino tourists in order to get their visa’s successfully approved by the embassy.

• Two copies of fully signed and filled up the visa application form. Answers to all the important questions like residence address in UAE, any sponsor or host, their address. All of these needs to be filled up without fail to get an approved UAE visa.
• An original Philippine passport with a validation period of 6 months from the proposed arrival date in the UAE.
• A photocopy of the original Philippine passport
• Passport size coloured photograph with white background
• In case if the tourist is invited by any resident of UAE they need to show the invitation letter which must include the following information’s like the full name, contact number of the host, invitation statement, home address, relationship between the host and applicant, and also an estimated duration of the visit.
• In case any of the tourists are invited by an organization, they need to provide the invitation letter which must include- the name of the organization, the invitation statement, contact number and their name, acceptance of responsibility of the person in detail.
• In case the tourists have a sponsor or host in UAE, then they need to provide a photocopy of the sponsor’s passport and also the residence permit.
• In case any of the tourists are visiting the organization a photocopy of the business license is mandatory

Other important documents required are

• In case the application is for an employee then they need to provide a letter from the employer highlighting his or her position in the company
• For self-employed people, they need to submit a copy of their business license
• Bank statement to prove that the person is financially stable
• Finally, a cover letter by the applicant stating the reason of visit or stay in the UAE

The general requirement for the visa application via Etihad Airways, Emirates, or the UAE embassy is almost the same. Certain additional documents are needed while submitting the application via Eithad Airways like-

• A confirmed roundtrip ticket
• A photocopy of credit card of the applicant
• A photocopy of a travel proof or visa
• Previous UAE entry and exit stamp if required

Estimated time to get the Tourist Visa

The processing time for the general tourist visa application to the UAE is much faster and easier as compared to the other countries. The applicants at times get their visa within two days of processing as well. However, the time duration depends on situations and circumstances. At times it might take 2 to 7 days as well.

How much does it cost?

The charges for the UAE visa application are different for different situations. Like for a single entry tourist visa for 30 days the charges are between US $110 to US $ 135, whereas a multiple-entry tourist visit it is between USD 275 to USD 599. So the charges depend on many situations and based on those the prices varies.

What If My Tourist Visa Gets Rejected

There might multiple reasons for a visa getting rejected. Like providing wrong information, not submitting the right document and many such reasons might be the cause for a tourist visa getting rejected. So they need to fill-up the form accordingly without making any mistake, provide all the needed documents. Recheck the application form for any mistake before the final submission to avoid any problem like a rejection of tourist visa. In case someone’s visa gets rejected they can resubmit the application with all the correct information and documents.

UAE visa on arrival

Preapproved uae visas, prearranged uae visas, sponsoring someone to visit the uae, contact information, 30-day visit eligibility.

If you are a passport holder of the below country or territory, no advance visa arrangements are required to visit the UAE. Simply disembark your flight at Dubai International and proceed to immigration, where your passport will be stamped with a 30-day visit visa free of charge.

90-day visit eligibility

If you are a passport holder of one of the below countries or territories, your passport will be stamped with a multiple entry 90-day visit visa that's valid for 6 months from the date of issue, and for a stay of 90 days in total. Citizens of the below European countries are also entitled to apply for a pre-arranged visit visa if their 90-day visa on arrival has been fully utilized.

180-day visit eligibility

If you hold a Mexican passport you’re eligible for a multiple entry 180-day visit visa that's valid for 6 months from the date of issue, and for a stay of 180 days in total.

Dubai immigration procedures

As an added security measure, Immigration Authorities at Dubai International are now conducting random visual screening for visitors to Dubai.

Visitors asked to proceed for visual screening are required to present a hard copy of their visa or a printed version of the visa number confirmation page at the screening counter. If you do not have a copy of your visa with you, a charge of AED 30 per copy applies, payable only in AED.

Important information

Before you travel to the UAE, please check your visa requirements and make sure you have a valid visa if needed, or if your passport needs to be valid for six months. Holders of non-standard passports and travel documents may also have different entry requirements: find out if you need to apply for a visa and other passport requirements.

As of April 29, 2016, GCC residence permit holders will need to apply for a UAE visa before arriving in Dubai.

New visit entry permit to the UAE for Indian nationals

From January 7, 2024, eligible Indian nationals with a normal passport valid for a minimum of six months can obtain a single entry, 14-day visa on arrival. A fee of USD 63 applies.

• Indian passport holder with USA visa valid for a minimum of six months
• Indian passport holder with USA green card valid for a minimum of six months
• Indian passport holder with UK residence card valid for a minimum of six months
• Indian passport holder with EU residence card from the following countries valid for a minimum of six months

How and where to apply for a preapproved UAE visa

Eligible Indian nationals can apply for their UAE entry permit on emirates.com through Manage your booking .

• For Extension, Original passport and ticket copy required.
• Extensions can be made at the airport office only.

• Color photograph of applicant
• Color copy of applicant's passport. The passport must be valid for at least six months
• You can download the application form (available at all Emirates Ticketing Offices) in  Arabic (Opens a PDF in a new tab)  or English (Opens a PDF in a new tab)  depending on the applicant’s nationality.
• A copy of your Emirates Airline ticket, or codeshare flight that starts with the code ‘EK’, and the ticket number should start with ‘176’.
• Proof of relationship if applying for family member: birth certificate, marriage certificate and family book
• All Documents to be submitted as hard copies
• Additional documents may be required by the authorities.

Rules and conditions

• Sponsor or applicant will be responsible for a visitor overstay and overstay fines.
• A Refundable deposit of AED 1,000 for friend. Sponsor must claim the deposit within a maximum of two years from the application submission date.
• Refund of visa fee before processing of an application, AED 50 will be deducted on refund process.
• Visa fees must be paid upon application.
• Additional visa processing fees may apply.
• Visa fees are nonrefundable.
• The ticket is non-refundable if the visa has been issued and utilized.

The online visa application service is available for residents and nationals of many countries around the world. Find out if you can apply for a UAE visa. Following are the steps that Philippines passport holders have to go through while applying for a Dubai or UAE visa.

1. Getting a Sponsor

The Dubai Tourist Visa for Philippines passport holders allows Filipinos to stay in the UAE for 30 days only. If you want to get a tourist visa to Dubai / UAE from the Philippines, you will need a sponsor from the UAE.

• Your sponsor can be a friend, a relative, future employer, colleague, or an acquaintance.
• You can find a hotel such as JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort and Spa or Raffles Hotel Dubai or any other hotel to sponsor you if you like. If you use a hotel as a sponsor, you might have to book a hotel room there.

2. Preparing Supporting Documents

• After you’ve got your sponsorship in place, all you have to do is to arrange for the supporting documents that would help you to obtain your Dubai visa for the Philippines.

• Scan a copy of your passport’s bio page and its last page and attach the scan to your doc set. Your passport must be valid for 6 months or more from the date of your intended travel
• Scan a copy of your colored passport-sized photo with white background
• If you’re being sponsored by someone other than Rayna Tours, then obtain a copy of your sponsor’s Resident Visa and Emirates ID Card.
• Submit scanned copies of your round trip flight tickets. If you are not being sponsored by an airline, submitting airline tickets might not be entirely necessary. Speak to your Rayna Tours representative.
• Submit copies of confirmed hotel bookings. If you’re not being sponsored by a hotel, this might not be strictly necessary. Speak to your Rayna Tours representative.
• If you’re staying with friends or relatives in the UAE, provide your hosts’ complete name, address, and contact numbers, the name of your hosts’ employers, office address and office phone numbers. The visa office needs this information to ensure that you have a valid place to stay when you land in the UAE.
• Copy of y our original bank certificate providing a history of your financial transactions for the past 6 months. Make sure your bank statements show a healthy savings balance that’ll enable you to spend 30 days in the UAE in relative comfort.
• If you are traveling with your spouse, then provide a scanned copy of your marriage certificate
• Also, provide scanned copies of your international credit cards if any
• Provide scanned copies of your original certificate of employment that provides details of your current position, salary, years of service and duration of approved leave.
• Provide a copy of your most recent Income Tax Returns document
• If you’re traveling with young kids, then the kids’ birth certificates. If you are a divorced parent, then a copy of your custody papers or spousal permit letter would be required, especially if you’re a woman.
• The fee for the tourist visa is 4770 PHP. Your sponsor will be able to tell you the exact date at the time of your visa application if there’s any change from this figure.
• If you have traveled to the UAE sometime during the past year, then enclose a copy of the entry and exit stamps on your passport
• If you have recently, within the past 5 years, traveled to the USA, UK, Schengen countries, Canada, Russia, Australia or New Zealand, you will need to submit a copy of your visas.

3. Sending Your Application for Submission

Gather all your scanned documents as well as the application and send it to your sponsor, who will do the rest. Some Basic Rules for Dubai Tourist Visa

You can apply for single or multiple entry tourist visas. Ask your Rayna Tours representative to explain the process to you. Visa fees are valid only for the duration of your visa; you cannot extend or renew your tourist visa. However, if you leave the UAE before your tourist visa expires, you can re-enter on a fresh visa. However, if you overstay your 30 days UAE Visa for Philippines duration, you may face legal consequences. If you overstay because of illness and you’re able to prove it, you may be excused. Otherwise, depending on how long you overstay, you may be asked to pay a fine or suffer further legal actions. If you overstay for too long deliberately, you may not be granted a tourist visa again to the UAE.

Reasons Why Dubai Visa Application Get Rejected

Certain mistakes or situations can lead to rejection of your UAE visa application. Here are some of the reasons why the UAE consulate may reject your visa application:

• If you have a handwritten passport, your UAE visa application would be rejected. Make sure your passport is digitally printed and has at least 6 months validity.
• Solo women travelers under the age of 22 may not get UAE visa
• If your passport specifies unskilled profession like the farmer, laborer or some other service, you are unlikely to get a visa to UAE.
• If you have a previous criminal record in the UAE, your visa request would not be granted.
• If the scanned photographs, passport copy, and other documents are not clear, you would not receive the visa.
• Spelling or factual errors on your application form can also cause rejection.
• If you have applied for a UAE visa before and did not make use of it, your new visa application would also be rejected.
• If you have a valid UAE residential visa, the request for a new visa would not be accepted.

Dubai Visa Process Time and Fees

The normal process time for UAE visa is 3-4 days. If you opt for you’re an express visa, you would get your UAE visa within 36 hours. The fee for the Dubai tourist visa would depend on the type of visa you have chosen for yourself.

• PDA is a definite no-no in the UAE. If you are caught, you could be fined, jailed or even deported.
• Drinking in public areas and drinking and driving are illegal in the UAE. You can only drink at licensed restaurants and bars.
• Swimwear is allowed at the beaches and pool areas. Cover yourself appropriately while traveling from your hotel or room to the pool area or beach.
• If you are visiting during Ramadan, you should refrain from eating or drinking in public till the time of sunset.

How to Apply for a Philippine Visa for UAE Expats

Expats in the UAE who have plans of visiting the Philippines but may need to secure a visa beforehand, below is a step by step guide on how to get a tourist visa to the Philippines as shared by one of our contributors.

Before anything else you will need to check if your country passport is included in this list of countries who do NOT need to apply for a visa to enter the Philippines . If your country is not on the list, then please see the procedure below.

Applying for a Philippine Visa is not rocket science, but as with other visa applications, it mainly requires 2 Ps: patience and papers (lots of them).

A UAE Expat’s Guide to Applying for a Philippine Visa

Note: I’m sharing my husband’s experience as a first-time Philippine Visa applicant. He is an Egyptian national. Please check the list of visa-exempted countries on the Philippine Department of Affairs website, as you may not need a visa to enter the Philippines.

Step 1: Prepare all the required documents.

• Accomplished computerized  Visa Application Forms  (2 copies). Available on both the  Dubai Consulate  and  Abu Dhabi Embassy
• Recent ID photos (2 copies). Not older than 6 months.
• Original Passport with UAE Residence Visa . Valid for at least 6 months from the intended date of departure from the Philippines
• Passport Data Page  (2 copies)
• UAE Visa Stamp  (2 copies)
• Your job position
• Period of employment
• Gross monthly salary
• Additional Note: The No Objection Letter should be printed on a company letterhead, signed by an authorized personnel and sealed with the company stamp.
• If self-employed (i.e. company owner), your  Company Trade License  (2 copies)
• Proof of financial capacity. Either your most recent  Bank Statements  (past 3 months) or your  Salary Certificate  (printed on a company letterhead, signed by an authorized personnel and sealed with the company stamp)
• Flight Booking
• Hotel Booking  or Invitation  Letter  from a Philippine sponsor with a copy of his/her passport or any valid identification card
• Our  Original Report of Marriage  (attested by the Philippine Embassy of Abu Dhabi)
• My Passport Data Page  (2 copies)

You can get the full list of requirements on both the  Philippine Consulate of Dubai website  and the  Philippine Embassy of Abu Dhabi website .

The main difference between the two is that the Embassy requires a Police Clearance issued by the UAE Ministry of Interior, applicable for all visa applicants aged 18 and above. You can order your Police Clearance  here.

Step 2: Bring all your requirements to the Embassy or Consulate.

Dubai visa holders can apply at the Philippine Consulate in Dubai , while Abu Dhabi visa holders can apply at the Philippine in Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

If you are a Dubai visa holder assigned in Abu Dhabi, submit a written proof of your job assignment, so that you can apply in Abu Dhabi (this can be mentioned as a single sentence on your NOC letter).

First-time Philippine Visa applicants need to make a personal appearance in either the Dubai Consulate or Abu Dhabi Embassy between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. from Sundays to Thursdays (Ramadan hours may change).

When you enter the gate, proceed to the information desk and ask for a priority number for the Visa Section.

The Visa Officer will not keep your passport on your first visit. Instead, he/she will advise you to come back on a specific day (usually after 10 working days), which is when he/she will collect your passport for stamping.

Also, you will only pay AED 100 on your first visit.

The remaining AED 160 is payable on the assigned date of stamping.

Step 3: Return to the Consulate/Embassy on the appointed date between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. with your original passport and the remaining visa fee.

Alternatively, you may now ask a representative to submit your passport for you, since you had already made your personal appearance 10 working days before.

Step 4: Collect your visa between 3:00-5:00 p.m. of the same day.

Yes, you need to wait for at least another 3 hours for your passport and visa to be released.
