MxPx Announces New Shows and 2024 Tour Dates with The Ataris

Punk band MxPx announces a slew of live shows following the release of their latest album, Find A Way Home , which has been hailed by NPR as the band’s “best album in quite some time.” After playing this year’s When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas, the band will be heading to Indonesia to headline the massive FANATIK, RockARoma, and Rock In Celebes Festivals – some of the country’s biggest events pulling in over 25,000 attendees.

In 2024, MxPx will be kicking off the New Year with a headlining show on January 6th at The Hollywood Palladium with Less Than Jake, Relient K, and Smoking Popes, before heading on a Nationwide tour with The Ataris starting in NYC on February 9, 2024 at Webster Hall and ending April 6 in Salt Lake City, UT at The Depot. On April 4th, MxPx and The Ataris will be joined by longtime friends Five Iron Frenzy for their show in Denver at the Odgen Theatre. See below for all dates and ticketing information!

Since its inception in 1992, MxPx has lived the music industry roller coaster. They’ve spent some time on major labels, selling millions of records along the way, to these days self-releasing their own music with a small team. They’ve toured the entire world 10x over and to this day can show up pretty much anywhere and have an audience that wants to see them. It’s a dream that they don’t take for granted. They spent six months refining songs for their latest album, Find A Way Home , in hopes of delivering something both lifelong fans and new fans would love. But most importantly delivering something that felt like MxPx. It’s been a long and amazing journey, and this is their new chapter.

More About MxPx: MxPx still tours the world on their own schedule and on their own terms. They’ve been with major labels, they’ve been with independent labels, and they’ve done it on their own without labels. They’ve been the headlining band, they’ve been the opening band, they’ve played just about every major worldwide festival, and they’ve seen the world living a dream. MxPx has an RIAA-certified Gold Record (1998’s Slowly Going The Way of the Buffalo), they got the key to the City of Bremerton (for real, there are pictures to prove it), they were in a Super Bowl commercial, recorded the theme song of a major motion picture (Scooby-Doo, 2002), they own their recording studio (Monkey Trench Studios), and that’s just the beginning of the list.

The band has released 11 full-length albums, alongside an even longer list of EPs, compilations, b-sides, and singles. “Let’s Ride,” released in 2018, has become one of the band’s most popular songs; a rare feat for a band this far into its career. It was later featured in Tony Hawk’s 2020 Pro Skater remaster which opened them up to an even wider worldwide audience.

The 11th studio album from MxPx, Find A Way Home, was released in 2023 to high critical acclaim. The band surprised their fans by performing the record in its entirety live on the internet with support from friends from years past including Simple Plan, Less Than Jake, The Ataris, Relient K, Goldfinger, Zebrahead, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Five Iron Frenzy, Unwritten Law, Bowling for Soup, Anberlin, as well as organizations such as Vans Warped Tour, Ernie Ball, When We Were Young Festival, Montebello Rock Festival, Silver City Brewing, RockSound, Alternative Press, Punk Rock MBA, Spin Magazine, and many more. The live stream was broadcast across the social media accounts of their peers as well as press outlets, reaching a total worldwide audience of hundreds of thousands of viewers across the thirty-minute stream. On the release, MxPx was hailed as “one of the most influential pop-punk bands in the history of the genre who’ve maintained an artistic consistency most can only dream of” by Alternative Press . Find A Way Home, has been described by the larger media as having “a sound that is as fresh and relevant as the band has ever been,” ( Wall of Sound Australia ), “another solidifying album [added] to their discography” ( MXDWN ), and MxPx’s “best album in quite some time” ( NPR ).

Since 1992 Magnified Plaid, er, MxPx have been bringing their blend of pop-punk to clubs, DYI venues, and Warped Tours.

With 9 albums and a handful of EPs under their belt it’s not hard to find songs to fill their set lists with. While they have over 100 songs in their catalog you can always expect to hear a handful of classics at each one of their shows. “Punk Rawk Show” from their sophomore record ‘Teenage Politics’ is a live show staple. From their most popular album ‘Life In General’ you’ll here “Move to Bremerton” and “Chick Magnet” at every MxPx show.

Bassist and frontman Mike Herrera looks like the punk rock guy your parents warned you about, covered head to toe in tattoos, a raspy voice ala Social Distortion’s Mike Ness, and usually dawning cut off sleeves, but Herrera couldn’t be a nicer guy. He’s one of the kindest and most laid back guys in punk music and he’s as kind as his lyrics are heartfelt.

Most of MxPx’s songs are about girls and heartbreak, but they’re impossible to bring you down as you sing along to infectious chorus’s – go ahead, I dare you not to join Herrera on the “Bum bum doot da’s” on “Chick Magnet.” There’s a reason they’ve been around for over two decades, find out why at one of their shows.

Get ready to rock out with MxPx tickets through TicketSmarter! This American punk rock and the punk-pop band were formed in 1992. Originally called Magnified Plaid, MxPx was created by teens Yuri Ruley, Andy Husted and Mike Herrera. Their first album, Pokinatcha , debuted in 1994. The band furthered its success with Teenage Politics in 1995 and Life in General in 1996. They got their big break in 1998 with the release of Slowly Going the Way of the Buffalo , which was certified gold and peaked at No. 99 on the Billboards 200. Their rise to stardom was swift after that. In 2000, MxPx debuted The Ever Passing Moment , which helped them gain a slot supporting a tour with Conspiracy of One, The Offspring and Cypress Hill.

The popularity of MxPx tickets began to soar with the album's hit single "Responsibility," which peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart. Additionally, the song was featured in the television move Is It Fall Yet? MxPx also gained further recognition from younger audiences after releasing their version of "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?," which became part of the soundtrack for the movie Scooby-Doo.

MxPx went on to release  Before Everything & After , which peaked at No. 51 on the Billboard 200 charts. The band's hit single, "The Empire," won the Special Event Album of the Year from the Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. The band's seventh studio album, Panic , was released and featured singer-bassist Mark Hoppus from Blink-182 and +44 with "Heard That Sound." The band focused on touring to support their newest album for the next two years before releasing Secret Weapon in 2007. The album reached No. 1 on the Billboard's Christian chart and No 76. On the Billboard 200.

MxPx released three more hit albums, On the Cover II , Punk Rawk Christmas and Plans Within Plans . To honor the band's 20 th anniversary, they re-released a new version of Life in General,  and the self-titled album, MxPx . With hits under their belt, they are a group to catch at a live concert.

MxPx Ticket Prices

You’ll find that MxPx concert tickets vary in price from market to market. Tickets for smaller venues that sell out fast are typically more expensive due to simple supply and demand. While larger venues tend to have more availability so ticket prices are usually a little lower. Alternative Festival tickets tend to be pricier but you have an opportunity to see MxPx along with artists such as Pearl Jam , Green Day and the Foo Fighters .

How much are MxPx tickets?

Generally speaking, MxPx ticket prices cost more than $50 for most live performances. Tickets to see MxPx play at music festivals like Lollapalooza can cost more than $100 for a standard general admission ticket. Premium seating at venues like the United Center can cost more than $275 a seat, while standard tickets for seats in the upper levels of the arena can cost less than $75 a ticket.

MxPx concert ticket prices can range up to several hundred dollars per ticket depending on the venue and seat location. Floor seats and VIP are usually the most expensive depending on availability. And of course, the least expensive seats will be farthest from the stage.

Gallagher brothers tease Oasis reunion

Liam and Noel Gallagher have ramped up speculation that an Oasis reunion could finally be on the cards as the brothers teased that a band announcement could be made in the coming hours.

A short clip in the same font and style of the band’s famous logo appeared on the brothers' social media accounts on Sunday, as well as the official Oasis page .

It shows the date "27.08.24" before flickering and then reading "8am".

Fans of the Manchester rock band have pleaded with the brothers to regroup since they broke up in 2009, after a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.

Formed in 1991, the group rose to fame with hits including Wonderwall, Don't Look Back In Anger and Stop Crying Your Heart Out.

A Sunday Times report, citing unnamed industry insiders, claimed the brothers were set to perform a string of gigs next year, including shows at London's Wembley Stadium and Manchester's Heaton Park.

The article mentioned reports that Wembley may be booked for 10 dates – which, if true, would smash the eight-gig record set by Taylor Swift this year.

There is also speculation that a Glastonbury headline slot could be in the works.

Liam Gallagher spent much of Sunday responding to rumours on X, formerly known as Twitter: “I never did like that word FORMER,” he said, before sharing news articles about the reunion rumours.

At his headline Reading Festival set on Sunday evening, he dedicated the Oasis track Half The World Away to his brother, saying : "I wanna dedicate this song to Noel Gallagher."

He later dedicated Cigarettes & Alcohol to people who he said hate the band.

At the end of the gig, the same teaser clip showing Tuesday's date appeared on the stage's main screens.

It has been 30 years since chart-topping Definitely Maybe album by Oasis turned the Gallagher brothers into stars in 1994 – helping to kick off the Britpop era and launching the hellraising pair, and their band, into mega-stardom.

In 1996, an incredible 2.5 million people applied for tickets to their two dates at Knebworth – which could hint at the demand any new gigs might see.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5Live, music journalist John Robb said Oasis defined the generation who grew up in the 1990s, adding that the atmosphere at any reunion events would be "amazing".

The hype has sent fans into a frenzy, with many people sharing their excitement – and criticism – online.

One fan said Heaton Park is a "terrible venue for concerts", with Liam responding: "See you down the front..."

When another asked when the reunion dates will be announced, he replied: "Next Friday..."

Fans outside Sifters record shop in Burnage, Manchester – which is mentioned in the Oasis song Shakermaker – gave their reaction.

"They're a big part of my life growing up," said one woman, who has an Oasis tattoo on her back. "I'm not going to sleep tonight, I am so excited."

"We've grown up around the corner from Noel and Liam," said another.

"You can't put a price on a band such as Oasis, can you?" she added. "Burnage people will pay [to see them], and so will everyone else."

A third fan said: "You've dreamt about it in your dreams but never in person, thinking of them getting together... I think this is the one."

The brothers always had a combative relationship, and a string of tours have fallen apart over the years, ending in the backstage fight in 2009 that resulted in Noel leaving the band .

This has led some to question what the real motivation for any potential reunion might be.

Helen Brown, a music critic at The Independent, told BBC News: "After the decades of going at each other with cricket bats and fire extinguishers, it's extraordinary that [the Gallagher brothers] seem to be getting along better – and maybe money is an incentive here."

She added: "Maybe they can put aside their differences to fill their coffers."

The pair have since gone on to have successful careers separately, with Noel fronting the group Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

Of the other original band members, Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs has recently toured with Liam, but drummer Tony McCarroll and bassist Paul McGuigan have not played with either Gallagher since Definitely Maybe and 1997's Be Here Now respectively.
