Bones And All

Anthony Jeselnik, US stand-up comedian is on his way to Australia and New Zealand. Known from his hit podcast, ‘The Jeselnik And Rosenthal Vanity Project’, alongside co-host Gregg Rosenthal. His most recent stand up special, ‘Fire In the Maternity Ward‘, premiered on Netflix to critical acclaim. 

Anthony was also the creator, host and producer of his series, ‘Good Talk’ and ‘The Jeselnik Offensive’ on Comedy Central. He also appeared on multiple roasts for the network, most notably ‘The Roast Of Donald Trump’ and ‘The Roast Of Charlie Sheen’.  

Additionally, Anthony wrote and performed the stand-up specials ‘Thoughts And Prayers’, an hour-long for Netflix and CALIGULA, an hour-long for Comedy Central which followed his debut comedy album, ‘Shakespeare’, for Comedy Central Records. 

He has performed on ‘Conan’, ‘The Tonight Show’, ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ and was a writer and the first ever stand-up comic to appear on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’.

Our foyers will be open 90 minutes pre-show for Concert Hall and Joan Sutherland Theatre performances, and two hours pre-show for Western Foyer venue performances. Refreshments will be available for purchase from our theatre bars. All Sydney Opera House foyers are pram accessible, with lifts to the main and western foyers. The public lift to all foyers is accessible from the corridor near the escalators on the Lower Concourse and also in the Western Foyer via the corridor on the Ground Level (at the top of the escalators). Pram parking will be available outside the theatres in the Western Foyer.

The Sydney Opera House Car Park, operated by Wilson Parking, is open and available to use. Wilson Parking offer discounted parking if you book ahead. Please see  the Wilson Parking website  for details.

Please check the  Transport NSW website  for the latest advice and information on travel. You can catch public transport (bus, train, ferry) to Circular Quay and enjoy a six min walk to the Opera House.

The Sydney Opera House no longer requires patrons to show that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Ticket purchases and collection at our Box Office is discouraged and eTicket or postal delivery methods should be used, wherever possible. However, if you are collecting your tickets from the Box Office, we recommend doing this at least 60 minutes before the event starts. If you have already received your tickets, the venue doors will be open 45 minutes pre-show for Joan Sutherland Theatre performances, and 30 minutes pre-show for Western Foyer venue performances. Please take your seats as soon as you arrive. 

If you are late, we will seat you as soon as we can and, where possible, in your allocated seat. However, to reduce movement in the venue as well as minimise disruption to the performance and other patrons, ticketholders may be seated in an allocated latecomer’s seat. Please be aware that some events have lock-out periods. In these cases, latecomers will be admitted at a suitable break in the performance. On occasions, this may not be until the interval, or at all where there is no interval.

In accordance with our venue security procedures, Opera House security will be scanning and checking bags under the Monumental Stairs, prior to entering the building. Bags will be scanned by an x-ray machine, and staff will wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling your belongings, such as gloves. Cloaking facilities will be open 60 minutes pre-show for Concert Hall and Joan Sutherland Theatre performances, and 60 minutes pre-show for Western Foyer venue performances. However it is strongly encouraged that you travel lightly to minimise contact and queuing. Any bags larger than an A4 piece of paper will need to be checked into the Cloak Room.

Anthony Jeselnik has been enchanting while simultaneously gut-punching audiences with his line-crossing humour for over fifteen years. His evil genius wordplay has fuelled some of the most memorable Comedy Central Roasts and three widely-acclaimed solo comedy specials in the last decade. Don't miss the 'Dark Prince of Comedy' when he brings his wicked one-liners to Australian stages, playing Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne in February-March. A career-defining spot on the Donald Trump roast introduced Anthony to global audiences literally overnight. After several years in the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon writers' room, Anthony had been writing for the David Hasselhoff roast when he was invited to perform on the upcoming lampooning of presidential hopeful Trump. Jeselnik's performance was so outstanding that he was immediately offered a 'three-point deal' in which he received an hour special, three roasts, and a development deal. The eldest of five kids from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, even in his formative years dark, inappropriate humour was Jeselnik's classroom specialty. Literature and reading-obsessed, he always dreamed of writing the 'great American novel', but while working at Borders bookstore he chanced upon a book by a local writer and comedian promoting his comedy workshops, leading Anthony to realise that there were other areas in which a writer could thrive. The comedy veteran has earned a hotly-contested spot on Variety 's 10 Comics to Watch list, was one of Comedy Central 's 'Breakout Comedians of the Year' in 2009 alongside Aziz Ansari , Whitney Cummings , Donald Glover , and Kumail Nanjiani , has performed on Conan , The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live and was the first ever stand-up comedy spot on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon . With a Comedy Central presents, two seasons of his own series The Jeselnik Offensive, three outstanding, critically acclaimed stand-up comedy specials and an Emmy nomination for his work on A Night Of Too Many Stars: An Overbooked Concert For Autism Education under his belt, there is no holding Anthony Jeselnik back - either in his material or in his career.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE   (March 4, 2024)   – Ensemble Arts Philly, the new presenting brand of the Kimmel Cultural Campus and The Philadelphia Orchestra, present, in association with Live Nation, boundary-pushing stand-up comedian,   Anthony Jeselnik , with his   Bones and All   tour. This one-night-only event will take place at the Miller Theater on April 27, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. Jeselnik, whose career spans over a decade, has been known to inject humor into taboo subjects, creating a distinctive comic experience that has earned him a dedicated fanbase. With   Bones and All , he delivers his signature electric mix of the same twisted and darkly humorous quips.

Jeselnik is widely known for his Netflix specials, podcast, and Comedy Central roasts. He currently hosts the podcast,   The Jeselnik and Rosenthal Vanity Project,   alongside co-host Gregg Rosenthal for All Things Comedy. His most recent stand-up special,   Fire in the Maternity Ward,   premiered on Netflix to critical acclaim. Anthony was the creator, host, and producer of his series,   Good Talk   and   The Jeselnik Offensive   on Comedy Central.

Anthony Jeselnik brings the cringes back to The Wilbur with ‘Bones and All’

For better or worse, Anthony Jeselnik has continued to make it his life’s work to bring waves of cringes and gasps to crowds all over the world. As luck would have it, the city of Boston isn’t making it out of 2023 without getting a fresh dose of darkness from the man himself.

As announced this week, the Pittsburgh native is bringing his latest show, Bones and All, to theaters all over the country this year, including a stop at The Wilbur on December 9. While it won’t be his first swing at the famed venue, it’s been a few years since Jeselnik last visited the city, and since then, he’s released a Netflix special, Fire In The Maternity Ward , and hosted a talk show on Comedy Central in 2019, Good Talk with Anthony Jeselnik . He can currently be hard as the co-host of The Jeselnik & Rosenthal Vanity Project podcast, alongside NFL Network analyst Gregg Rosenthal.

Also returning to The Wilbur after a few years are one-man show machine and internationally-acclaimed comedian Daniel Sloss , who brings his latest show, Can’t , to Boston on October 7. Most recently, he released the latest of his critically-acclaimed one-man shows, SOCIO , on his website in December 2022. But the fun doesn’t end there, as 2 Dope Queens co-host Phoebe Robinson brings her Messy AF tour to town on October 27. In addition to her third book, Please Don’t Sit on My Bed in Your Outside Clothes, hitting shelves in 2021, Robinson also released her first special, Sorry, Harriet Tubman on HBO that same year, before creating and starring in her own TV series, Everything’s Trash , on Freeform in 2022.

What’s even more exciting than returning star power is when a comic makes their Wilbur debut, and such will be the case for three more hard-grinding comedy killersthroughout the rest of the year. First, biochemist and comedian Joe Wong takes the stage on May 25, returning to Boston after starting his stand-up career in the city in the early 2000s. Since those days, Wong has gone on to perform on The Late Show with David Letterman and later the Stephen Colbert-led edition of the show, as well as hosting television shows in Beijing, like Is It True? on China Central Television.

Secondly, Esther Povitsky comes to town on September 30 for a night at The Wilbur. Aside from her stand-up shows that continue to garner audiences all over the country, the Chicago native released her debut special, Hot For My Name in 2020, and has since starred in the Hulu series D ollface alongside Kat Dennings, and also hosts the My Pleasure podcast, as well as serving as co-host on the Trash Tuesday podcast alongside Annie Lederman and Khalyla Kuhn.

Also making his Wilbur debut in 2023 is Michael Blaustein , who comes through for one night on October 21. In addition to his stand-up, Blaustein is also the co-host of the Stiff Socks podcast alongside fellow comedian Trevor Wallace.

Jeff Rosenstock Announces 2024 Australian Tour

Jeff Rosenstock has announced an Australian tour, set to take place in November of 2024. The New York-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist will tour the country with his long-serving backing band Death Rosenstock, which consists of bassist John DeDomenici, guitarist Mike Huguenor, keyboardist/guitarist Dan Potthast and drummer Kevin Higuchi. Rosenstock and co. were last in Australia in December 2018, which included a performance at Canberra’s Gingerfest alongside Bodyjar and Hightime . Since then, Rosenstock has released several further records. His fourth solo album, No Dream , was released in 2020; a reworked ska version of the record, Ska Dream , followed in 2021. His most recent solo studio album was his fifth, 2023’s Helldream , which featured the singles ‘Liked U Better’, ‘Doubt’ and the title track.

Away from making music under his own name, Rosenstock has continued his work as a composer on the animated series Craig of the Creek on the Cartoon Network. Recently, Rosenstock worked on the original soundtrack and score for the series’ first ever full-length feature Craig Before the Creek . The soundtrack was released in January 2024, and also features contributions from acts such as RX Bandits, Soul Glo and another of Rosenstock’s side projects, The Bruce Lee Band.

He has released several critically acclaimed stand-up specials and co-hosts a podcast with Gregg Rosenthal.
