SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: Jay B, a member of GOT7 and a solo artist, has declared a world tour for 2022. On September 2, Jay B unveiled a poster announcing his 2022 world tour, titled 'Tape: Press Pause,' with dates and stops in Asia. Jay B will travel to Manila, Philippines on October 1, Bangkok, Thailand on October 15 for a two-day show until October 16, Jakarta, Indonesia on October 22, and Japan on November 2 to meet fans from all over Asia. JAY B  is heading back to the live stage. 

In an announcement by CDNZA Records , the GOT7  member revealed that he will be holding a concert at Seoul's  Yes24 Live Hall on  24 September 2022 . This will come as JAY B's latest solo concert, following his Nostalgia  fanmeet last June.

JAY B has released the list of dates and venues for the Latin America leg of his ‘Tape: Press Pause’ 2022 World Tour.

The idol’s label, CDNZA Records , announced earlier today that JAY B is set to perform in four cities in Mexico, Brazil and Chile this November. He is set to kick off the Latin America leg of his tour with a show in Mexico City, before moving to Monterrey the day after. From there, he will hold shows in São Paulo and Santiago until the end of the month.

Ticketing details for JAY B’s shows in Latin America have yet to be released at the time of publication. Dates and venues for his forthcoming shows in the region are as follows:

November 23 – Auditorio BB – Mexico City, Mexico November 24 – Pabellón M – Monterrey, Mexico November 26 – Vibra São Paulo – São Paulo, Brazil November 28 – Basel Venue – Santiago, Chile

JAY B kicked off his ‘Tape: Press Pause’ tour with a show at Seoul’s YES24 Live Hall on September, before holding performances at Quezon City’s Araneta Coliseum and Thailand’s Impact Exhibition Hall earlier this month. [CONCERT REVIEW] GOT7's Jay B rocks the stage with high-energy performances at his 'Tape: Press Pause' solo show in Manila

On October 1,  GOT7 member  Jay B held his first-ever solo concert in Manila, Philippines, as part of his ongoing world tour titled ' Tape: Press Pause , ' which marked the very first stop of his Asian tour. Days before the show, the venue was changed and moved to the New Frontier Theater to conduct more fan activities and for fans to have a better experience with Jay B, with benefits including a goodbye session.

On Saturday, thousands of fans flocked to the venue, and as the show began, screams filled the venue as they awaited Jay B to appear on stage. As fans turned on their lightsticks and waved them compassionately, the venue was lit up in green.

Clad in an all-black outfit, Jay B kicked off the set with his groovy performance of " Switch It Up ." He then performed " Ride " and " AM PM ," showing his dance skills and synchronization with his backup dancers, making the stage more astounding.

The mood of the venue then changed as he performed the mellow soundtrack " Dive into you ," followed by his soulful performances of " In To You " and " Count On Me ," showcasing his feel-good vocals. He then showed that his voice perfectly fits performing R&B songs with his honey-like performance of GOT7's " Sunrise, " which was performed solo by Jay B.

"Your reactions are really nice," said Jay B as he gazed over the crowd, making him brimmed with joy.

Next, Jay B blissfully conquered the stage with another set of performances of " B.T.W " and " Fame (feat. JUNNY )."

During his talk segment, Jay B shared that he had just arrived that day, all over from Paris for Fashion Week, a nearly 17-hour flight to Manila, saying, "I was kind of worried if I can do well today." But with the number of cheers Jay B heard during the show, he was able to do it.

Jay B continued to melt the audience with his smooth vocals with another series of subdued tracks, Primary 's " Hush (feat. Jay B)," " Fade Away ," and his self-composed song " Rainy ," in which he expressed his emotions of drifting away from youth to a rainy day, displaying soulful performances.

Jay B then surprised the audience as he invited Filipino singer  James Reid to perform " Hello 2.0 (Legends Only) " with him on stage. Jay B and James Reid had a small talk on stage, revealing that they only met face-to-face for the first time that day. While Jay B is preparing for the next set of his songs backstage, James Reid took the stage with his performance of his latest track, " U & I ."

"If there's another opportunity (to collaborate), it'd be my honor," said James Reid. Jay B also shared, "When I first heard this song, I thought that I will be doing good to this song."

Jay B then got groovy and funky with his performance of " go UP ," the title song of his recently released album ' Be Yourself .' The singer continued to set the mood as he sang the vibrant B-side track from the album, " The Way We Are ."

Talking about his newest album, 'Be Yourself,' coming from the title itself, Jay B conveys the message of hope as there are days when we find ourselves stuck in a seemingly endless loop, encouraging the listeners to let go of their worries and judgment from others.

"While making the album, since there are many people who are having a hard time, I wanted to make a song a song to empower them," said Jay B. "I don't know if I'm just getting older, but many hard things are coming in life." He added, "So I was thinking like maybe my fans feel the same way," making him release a healing album for everyone to listen to when they're feeling down.

The following tracks on the list were " Livin' ," " Fountain of Youth ," " Break It Down ," and ending with the upbeat track " Holyday ," the other B-sides from 'Be Yourself.' His vocals shone throughout all his performances, displaying the emotions as he sang the tracks full of messages, including that life is too short and time is not enough, staying true to yourself, and feeling of being young forever.

Returning to the stage with his performance of " Rocking Chair ," combined with his soothing voice, Jay B comforted everyone in the venue, as well as people who seems to be weary and tired.

Jay B then performed a medley of GOT7's songs, including " Page ," " Teenager ," " Breath ," " Thursday ," and " NANANA ." During the concert, the group's leader shared, "I'll try to come with the members next time."

Jay B wrapped up the Saturday show with his songs " Maja ," " Sunset With You ," instilling a sense of nostalgia, especially for fans who have followed him since the beginning, and " Go Higher " under his moniker Def. , from the mini-album ' Love .'

Personally, Jay B's solo show was one of the best concerts I've ever attended. Whether you watch his show as a fan or not, you'll end up becoming one. The singer-songwriter knows to handle it all, a total performer. And you can see and feel his love for music, as well as his desire to perform in front of his fans who have waited to see him in the flesh. He knows how to entertain and interact with his fans in a way that makes the show even more memorable for them. He didn't appear to have traveled nearly 17 hours from Paris to Manila. Jay B thoroughly enjoyed the show, and you couldn't tell he was tired on stage that day. Jay B performed 25 songs over the course of the nearly three-hour show, demonstrating his live vocal prowess as well as his high-energy dance skills from the beginning to the end of the show. His energy was high, and it was clear that he genuinely enjoys performing, smiling ear to ear throughout the show. A wonderful Saturday night where both the performer and the fans eagerly anticipated the opportunity to finally meet each other in person.

There were no signs of fatigue by the way he hit both high and low notes with ease. “I was worried if I could do well today, but with this amount of cheering, I think I could do it,” he told Filipino AHGASEs. 

JAY B also went around to interact with fans and give a shoutout to all AHGASEs present, no matter what section they were in. He gamely learned new Filipino words and even asked for recommendations on what Filipino food he should try.

“Your passion is so great,” he told the attendees.

Manila serves as the first stop in JAY B’s world tour, and he said that “he’ll burn the start of [his] world tour” with Filipino AHGASEs. “I think I can finish the tour well because of the warm cheers of the Philippines.” 

The fans were also caught by surprise when JAY B shared the stage with Filipino-Australian singer James Reid. The two did their first live performance of their collaborative track “Hello 2.0 (Legends Only).” They said that it was their first time to meet each other personally but both showered each other with compliments. 

James also expressed his gratitude to JAY B for agreeing to the collaboration: “You killed the song, bro,” he told the K-pop star. JAY B replied that he’s looking forward to another chance to work with James.

After an outfit change, JAY B switched up the tempo with the next songs from his recent album Be Yourself – “go UP,“ “The Way We Are,” and “Livin.’” JAY B said that these newest songs, which are mostly upbeat, are meant to be music that gives his fans comfort. 

“I don’t know if it’s just [that] I’m getting older, but I realized that there are many hard things in life. Since you, my fans, may also experience these obstacles, I was thinking that maybe you guys feel the same way I do…. So I hope the songs can be healing and something fun,” he said.

While he admitted that he’s still not confident singing in English, JAY B was still able to deliver flawless performances of his two full-English tracks “Fountain of Youth” and “Holyday,” before he capped off the set with a heartfelt rendition of “Rocking Chair” that left us teary-eyed, too. 

It was JAY B’s turn to get surprised when fans prepared a video compilation featuring his career highlights. “Thank you JAY B for being our leader, our artist, and our friend. Mahal ka namin (We love you),” Filipino AHGASEs told him, before filling the venue with chants of “best leader.”

JAY B said, “I am actually pressured by the title, but because of you guys, I try to be the best leader. I’ll continue to do my best.” 

He then teased the crowd that it was not right for him to end the show without performing a GOT7 song. Earlier that night, he promised to come back to the country with all GOT7 members next year. This 2022 alone, JAY B is the fifth GOT7 member to hold a solo show in the Philippines following Jackson, BamBam, Youngjae, and Yugyeom. 

“I actually came here alone, but I’ll try my best to come with complete members next time,” he promised. And even when he was performing solo, JAY B was able to fill the stage as he delivered a medley of GOT7 tracks, which included “NANANA,” “Page,” “Thursday,” and “TEENAGER.”

While most artists perform bright songs for their encore stage, JAY B opted to take a more soulful route when he ended the night with “Sunset With You,” a track from his work as Def. Singer-songwriter and GOT7’s leader Jay B comes back to the Philippines in October with a new world tour as he stages his first ever solo concert in the country. Presented by PULP Live World, the 2022 World Tour JAY B TAPE: PRESS PAUSE will see the singer-songwriter dominate the New Frontier Theater on October 1.

Tickets to the concert will go on sale beginning September 18, 12 noon, thru TicketNet outlets and online.

The upcoming Manila concert will also kick off the Asia leg of Jay B’s world tour, following a concert in Seoul on September 24. In addition, it will serve as his comeback on the Philippine concert stage and his debut as a solo artist. He will also be the fifth GOT7 member to hold a concert in the country, after Youngjae , BamBam , Jackson , and Yugyeom .

Dive Into Him: Get to Know the Man that will Make You Press, Pause

Jay B made his official debut in South Korea’s entertainment scene in 2011 as an actor, playing the lead in the drama Dream High 2 with then fellow JYP Entertainment trainee, Jinyoung. The following year, the singer-songwriter and Jinyoung debuted as the duo JJ Project with the single album, Bounce .

In 2014, Jay B, who formerly used the stage name JB, became the leader of GOT7. GOT7 brought together Jay B, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom to become one of K-Pop’s most successful boy groups. Following the expiration of their contracts under JYP Entertainment in 2021, the members left the company and ventured into solo careers, while maintaining the boy group.

The same year, Jay B made his official debut as a soloist with the single “Switch It Up” which featured rapper Sokodomo. The single, self-written and self-composed by him with Jay Park and Cha Cha Malone, placed number 12 on the Gaon Download Chart. The song charted at number six on Billboard R&B Digital Song Sales Chart and number 18 on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Digital Song Sales Chart. With these Billboard feats, he became the first Korean soloist to debut on the R&B Digital Song Sales Chart and the third Korean soloist to enter the R&B/Hip Hop Digital Songs Sales Chart.

In August 2021, he came out with his first extended play, SOMO:Fume with “B.T.W” as the lead single. He once again collaborated with Jay Park on the song. The following year, he returned with a new extended play, Love. using his pseudonym Def. He also released “Rocking Chair”, his first single under CDNZA Records.

Jay B will release his new album, Be Yourself , in September. The same month, he will hold JAY B TAPE: PRESS PAUSE in Seoul on September 24 at the Yes24 Live Hall. And in October, he kicks off his world tour outside Seoul with a first stop in the Philippines on the first day of October at the New Frontier Theater.

CONCERT RECAP: JAY B Captivates Filipino Fans In “TAPE: PRESS PAUSE” In Manila

Jay b made his first solo concert in the philippines a treasured memory for his fans.

Opening the month of October with a bang, GOT7’s beloved leader and multi-talented solo artist JAY B has recently met with his Filipino fans to give a concert show to remember.

Presented by the trusted local event organizer, Pulp Live World, JAY B’s 2022 world tour titled TAPE: PRESS PAUSE IN MANILA took place at the New Frontier Theater on October 1. Notably, this marked his very first solo concert in the Philippines. Moreover, he officially became the fifth member of GOT7 to visit the country for a K-pop show this year.

To help you relive the fun and excitement of his concert party, we’ve listed the many mesmerizing moments during the event.

Diving into JAY B’s music

Appearing on stage with his stylish all-black ensemble, JAY B kicked off the concert party by performing “Switch It Up,” “Ride,” and “AM PM.” As he received enthusiastic cheers from the crowd, he can’t help but smile from ear to ear as he greeted everyone in the venue.

“I am so thankful for the people in the front row, second floor, and back. The Philippines is the first stop of my first world tour,” said JAY B. He shared that this is his first visit to the country alone since GOT7’s KEEP SPINNING tour in 2019. Much to the fans’ delight, he promised to come back to Manila with all his group members next year. 

Among the tracks he performed next were “In To You,” “Dive Into You, “Count On Me,” “Sunrise,” “B.T.W,” “FAME,” “Hush,” “Fade Away,” “Rainy,” “Holyday,” and “Sunset With You,” among others.

Moving closer to Ahgases

As he continued to perform, he went down from the stage to get closer to fans. “This is so nice. I was supposed to come down a bit later but your passion is so great,” he said.

Apart from delivering mesmerizing stages, he also made sure to interact closely with the audience. He asked fans for some food recommendations, in which many suggested the popular soup dish “Sinigang.” In addition, he learned many Filipino words and phrases including “ Ang pogi ko (I’m handsome),” “ Pasensya (Sorry),” “ Shot Puno (Take a full shot of beer),” “ Salamat (Thank you),” “ Mahal ko kayo (I love you),” and “ Ang ganda niyo (You’re all beautiful).”

A surprise guest

Catching fans by surprise, JAY B called in Filipino singer-actor James Reid to come out to the stage. Together, they delivered a captivating number of their collaboration track “HELLO 2.0 (Legends Only).”

JAYB revealed that it was the first time for them to meet personally. He was impressed with the song “Hello” and he looks forward to working with James Reid again in the future.

JAY B gets real 

Unveiling his true emotions, JAY B shared that his journey has not been an easy one. 

“As I get older, I realized that many challenges are coming into light. Since you, my fans, may also experience these obstacles, I want to make music that gives you comfort,” he said.

And he did just that through his comforting tracks, including “Rocking Chair,” “LIVIN’,” and “Fountain of Youth,” among many others.

The GOT7 medley

Heightening fans’ excitement, JAY B returned on stage to gift fans with a  special medley performance of some of GOT7’s tracks, including “GO UP,” “Page,” “Teenager,” “Breath,” “Thursday,” and “Nanana.”

Making the segment more special, the fans sang along with him as they waved their light sticks.

The best leader

Leading a team is not an easy task, especially keeping his group intact even after leaving their previous company. With his willpower, trust for his members, and dedication to their fans, JAY B proved that it is possible to stay together and continue doing the music that they love, even though they are now from different agencies.

The crowd honored the efforts of JAY B by surprising him with a video message. “Thank you, JAY B for being our leader, our artist, and our friend. Mahal ka namin (We love you).”

In addition, the fans sweetly chanted “Best Leader.” Humbled by their cheers, he responded, “I am actually pressured by the title ‘leader’ but because of you guys, I try to be the best leader. I’ll continue to do my best.”

Delighted by the passionate cheers from his supporters, he added, “I’m very happy that Manila is the first stop of my world tour. I think I can finish the tour well because of the warm cheers of the Philippines.”

Finally, JAY B capped off the night with “Go Higher,” bringing the energy at the venue to its maximum level.

Pre-debut [ ]

Before JAY B made his debut as a singer, he starred in the KBS drama Dream High as a backup dancer. He then landed the role of the main character in Dream High 2 alongside one of his group members, Jinyoung . Even after he made his debut as a singer, he starred in MBC's When a Man Falls in Love and in Naver TVCast's Dream Knight. [1]

He won first place at a JYP open audition [1] and was then given the stage name JB due to him sharing the same name as the famous singer, Yim Jae-Beom, who was his senior. With his group member Jinyoung, he made up the duo known as JJ Project , which debuted on May 20, 2012 with " Bounce ". On December 24, 2013, he and Jinyoung were made a part of the 7-member group GOT7 . He became the group's leader and main vocalist, debuting with them on January 16, 2014 with the mini album Got It? .

2016: 1/? Vol. 1 [ ]

JB created a SoundCloud account in 2016 and released his first mixtape, titled 1/? Vol. 1 . [2]

He released two mixtapes in 2018: 1/? Vol. 2 on January 22, and 1/? Vol. 3 on November 10.

2019: Jus2, 1/? Vol. 4 , 1/? Vol. 5 , apparel collection [ ]

On March 5, he debuted as one half of the duo Jus2 , along with fellow GOT7 member Yugyeom , with the mini album Focus .

He attended the YSL Menswear Fashion Show SS20 in California on June 6. [3]

He released his fourth mixtape, 1/? Vol. 4 , on August 4, and his fifth, 1/? Vol. 5 , on October 28.

On December 13, he launched his own apparel collection through Represent. The items, with summer-inspired designs, were on sales for two weeks. [4]

2020: "Alone." art exhibition [ ]

In September, JB, under the name Def., announced his first-ever exhibition. Titled "Alone.", it took place at the Seoul cafe Erolpa from October 6 to October 12. [5]

2021: Departure from JYP Entertainment, new agency H1GHR Music, "Switch It Up", SOMO:Fume [ ]

On January 10, it was reported by Dispatch that all GOT7 members would be leaving JYP Entertainment after 7 years of contract, with the 35th Golden Disc Awards being their last activity as a group. [6] On January 11, JYP Entertainment officially announced that the members will be leaving the agency as their contract expires on January 19. [7] On January 16, he opened a new Twitter account under his new stage name JAY B . [8]

On May 6, H1GHR Music started teasing their new artist, announcing that the artist's identity would be revealed on May 11. [9] On that date, an announcement trailer revealed that artist to be JAY B. Through the video, it was also announced that he would release a single three days later, on May 14. [10] A teaser was released a day later, on May 12, revealing the single's name to be " Switch It Up ". [11]

On August 22, he participated in King of Mask Singer as the singer 'Toad House'. He sang " Fall " by Crush in a duet with his competitor, and then Gummy 's "We Should Have Been Friends" after he lost in the first round with a one-vote difference. [12]

H1GHR Music announced on July 22 that JAY B will release his first EP, containing his previously released single "Switch It Up" as well as six other new tracks, on August 26. [13] On August 16, H1GHR Music announced his first EP album, SOMO:Fume . [14]

2022: Love. , departure from H1GHR Music, new agency CDNZA Records, "Rocking Chair", Be Yourself , Abandoned Love. [ ]

On December 31, 2021, JAY B announced that he would be releasing a new EP, Love. , under his alternate name Def., on January 26. Pre-orders for the abum began on January 5, 2022. [15]

On July 26, H1GHR Music announced that JAY B's contract with them had come to an end and that he'd chosen not to renew. On the same day, CDNZA Records welcomed JAY B into their company, revealing he'd become a new member of their label. [16]

On August 19, CDNZA Records released a teaser for his second digital single, " Rocking Chair ", which was released on August 23.

On August 29, a teaser was released for JAY B's second EP, Be Yourself , set for release on September 21. [17]

On October 5, he announced his second EP, Abandoned Love. , under his alternate name Def., set for release on October 17. [18]

2023: Seasonal Hiatus , departure from CDNZA Records, new agency [ ]

On January 11, he announced his special album, Seasonal Hiatus , set for release on February 14. [19]

On July 22, CDNZA Records announced that JAY B's contract with them has ended since April. [20]

On October 6, Mauve Company announced that JAY B signed an exclusive contract with the agency. [21]
