TESSERACT Announce North American Tour Dates; THE CONTORTIONIST, ERRA, SKYHARBOR To Support
August 17, 2015, 9 years ago
news heavy metal tesseract the contortionist erra skyharbor
TesseracT will return to North America for a healthy batch of tour dates slated for later this year. The band has tapped The Contortionist as main support along with Erra, and Skyharbor.
"Five years ago we bundled ourselves in to a van and set off on our debut North American tour," says bassist Amos Williams. "It was not only our North American debut but also our first major tour, really."
Dates will kick off on November 2nd at the Theater for Living Arts in Philadelphia and run coast to coast making a few stops in Canada before wrapping things up at Irving Plaza in New York City on December 7th. Tickets will go on sale Friday, August 21st at 10 AM, local time. Fans can visit the band's official website for ticket info. VIP upgrades including band meet and greet options are available for all shows. For more info on that, click here .
"We're beyond excited to announce that we're touring with TesseracT," says The Contortionist vocalist Mike Lessard. "They're a band we've always wanted to tour with, so it will be nice to share the road with them finally. This tour is a must see for any progressive fan!"
Williams comments again on that first North American run, where they supported Devin Townsend, "We were lucky enough to be supporting the incredible DTP, from whom we learned how to project and perform. It was an experience that none of us will ever forget. Everything about it was intense, from the traveling in a tiny van, or squeezing the whole band into a single Motel 6 room, through to the stunning crowds, and wonderful friends we made. So, a little over 5 years later it is an awesome feeling to return to the US and Canada to headline a tour with that same line up that traveled all the miles, and worked so hard to get TesseracT to where it is today."

On August 21st, Century Media Records will reissue the classic 2011 debut album by UK prog-metal band, TesseracT, on vinyl. The album’s original vinyl version released in 2012 sold out long ago, these days achieves prices beyond 100 Euro and due to the constant high demand, a reissue was long overdue.
The album’s 2015 edition widely resembles the original with its partial glossy printed cover yet comes on a single 180g vinyl LP and trades in the previously instrumental bonus CD for the full regular album to not spoil the exclusivity of the first press.

TesseracT have announced an all new LP titled Polaris, due out September 18th via their UK label home Kscope and a partnership with eOne Music in North America. Ahead of the release, the band are giving fans worldwide a chance to hear a new album track “Messenger.” The single is available for iTunes purchase and as an instant gratification track for those who pre order the album. Vocalist Dan Tompkins comments on the track:
"The concept of our new album, Polaris is simple; it is about the transient nature of universal truth. There is no such thing as an absolute fixed human concept that will forever be the truth. Perhaps that is a message most of us can't or don't want to listen to but 'Messenger' highlights an ever growing awakening from the onslaught of the social conditioning we’re exposed to everyday from the media. The truth constantly obscured and the public subdued by 'Casting fear into doubt.'"
"TesseracT has been through a roller coaster of a ride since our first EP," says the band. "We seemed to always have been filling the holes in our ship's hull to stop this ship from sinking, as we raced around the world time and time again."
The new LP will followup to the Altered State LP that was released in 2013. The new album will be the band’s third studio album and first for Kscope and eOne.
“Polaris, is a different scenario. The first chance for us as a group to stop and take stock of what we are right now, to explore a TesseracT of melody, dynamics, and singular focus. For the first time, too, we feel free from the bounds of genre specific expectations."
“Dystopia” “Hexes” “Survival” “Tourniquet” “Utopia” “Phoenix” “Messenger” “Cages” “Seven Names”
Over the course of the last six years, TesseracT have been at the forefront of the ever-evolving metal scene. Originally formed as a studio project by guitarist Acle Kahney, TesseracT immediately eschewed all well-established notions of what metal should sound like and swiftly became a unique and daring entity. Acle had recruited a line-up worthy of his groundbreaking compositions and the band embarked upon a quest to inject some originality and excitement back into an often myopic and lazy British metal scene. The longstanding line up of drummer Jay Postones, guitarist James Monteith, bassist Amos Williams have recently welcomed back vocalist Dan Tompkins, whose first show back with the band was on the main stage at last year’s UK Sonisphere Festival.
The debut album One received widespread critical acclaim, not least due to the album’s staggering six-part centerpiece "Concealing Fate”, which brilliantly showcased the band’s pioneering sonic approach and unstoppable arsenal of off-kilter riffs, soaring melodies and disorientating atmospherics. The primarily acoustic Perspective EP emerged in May 2012 to an effusive response from critics and fans alike and shortly after, their status as progressive metal’s most fascinating new creative force was very publicly celebrated when TesseracT picked up the Best New Band trophy at 2012’s inaugural Progressive Music Awards in London. Not wasting any time the band released their second album Altered State in early 2013 again to worldwide media acclaim.
Having found a new creative energy after reuniting Tompkins, the highly anticipated new opus will be an evolution from Altered State. Fans can expect more experimentation with sounds and tones, and deeper exploration into the core attributes that define TesseracT’s trademark sound.

I traveled from Canada to Lansing to see this show during a winter weather advisory, and it was sooo worth it. These guys are so tight live, I honestly have no idea how they can keep rhythm with such complicated time signatures. It's truly a pleasure to watch the flawless execution of some really great tunes. Although Sonder only came out last year, I am really looking forward to seeing what these guys come up with in the future!

Hands down the best show I have ever been to. The band was locked in and sounded incredible. Dan Tompkins is an amazing front man and his live vocals are just as impressive as the album recorded stuff. I cannot recommend seeing them love enough!
I’ve read some reviews of Flex before going there. There were some nasty things being said about the place but being there I found put its not really that bad.
The sound quality was really great and crisp clear. All the bands performed beautifully and the public loved them.
About Tesseract? There isnt much to say other than they re simply amazing and they sound great amazing.
Though personally I loved Ashe, Daniel is also incredibly good and up at the top.
Technically they were also incredible, really nothing bad to say about the show.

Subtronics Tesseract Tour

Bringing the Tesseract to Life After his debut album, FRACTALS , dropped in 2022 and explored the geometric concept of literal fractals, electronic DJ Subtronics most recently released TESSERACT . His latest album, tour, and stage/vessel for world-building, he captures the sounds of those unfathomable phenomena. His sonic portal? The tesseract—a hypercube concept wherein each side peels back and reveals another cube, identical yet infinitesimally different. The four-dimensional analog of a cube.
Larry Barcello of Brass City Productions Inc., and Production Manager for the tour points out, “I’d been aware of Jesse [Kardon; stage name Subtronics] for quite some time. He’s been pretty prolific over the past couple of years with a steady trajectory in his fan base. Roughly over a year ago is when I did my first show with him. Max Goessing, our Tour Director, is a longtime friend and colleague and is one of the principals at Center Stage Industries,” continues Barcello. “Conor Gray is our Tour Manager, and Elle Matthews is our Stage Manager. Specifically for this tour and in general with my touring team, I do have a core group of individuals that I turn to. I have Dave “Rigger Dave” Ardale, as our Head Rigger. I’ve been working with Dave for a good while. Our Video Crew Chief, Steven Calley, and I have been working together for over a decade. We’re putting this 67-point show up in roughly four hours and it’s coming down in approximately two.”
The Design Direction For the production design Barcello reached out to Erik Mahowald of Bending Lite Productions. As a designer and LD, Mahowald worked for years with acts like Tiësto and Dillon Francis. “We really found our sweet spot in the dance music world,” Mahowald comments. Bending Lite had done several one-off productions of independent designs for specific rooms for Subtronics, which led to the invitation by Barcello to do an entire tour.
Mahowald says, “Larry, who’s a good friend of mine and someone I’ve built many rigs with over the past six or seven years called me up, saying he’d love to have us involved in this show and introduced me to the camp. They had made it pretty clear that they wanted something very special. They weren’t scared of doing something a little bit abstract, which is always music to my ears as a designer.”
Barcello points out, “Erik is our Creative Director and Lighting Designer. He was supposed to be the designer at first, but quickly became the guy with that global perspective of what Jesse [Subtronics] wanted and then implemented that into a cohesive visual with Spencer Michaels, our Lighting Director; and Jake Keenan, our Touring Video Engineer. I can’t say enough good things about Erik. I feel Erik is one of the best designers in the industry.”
Everybody was aware they didn’t want that typical wall of sensory overload common to EDM. “We wanted to create moments, with finesse,” continues Barcello. “That aesthetic was driven a lot from Jesse’s take on things as well. Don’t get me wrong, EDM thrives on that energetic frenzy. We set out to build a show that is a lot sexier, looks a lot more purposeful, that lends a more cohesive experience. And Jesse definitely has a story to tell here. He has some very clear and defined ideas. He has a direct influence on what he would like the show to look like. Jesse is very trusting in his design team and leaves the minutia or finer details up to them. This particular one, TESSERACT , he’s telling a very purposeful story line that has chapter markers.”
Layering the Screens “I always look at what the artist has for assets internally to help outline the budget,” says Mahowald of his design process. “We knew going in content played such a special part in the show that we didn’t want to compromise that. Subtronics Art and Content Director Ray Elemento had a wealth of imagery for us to work with. So, a big upstage video wall was the start point.” Mahowald then asked Subtronics to give him some key words that were special to him. He threw back at Mahowald things like “cosmic, ethereal, dimensional, quantum. He spoke of a very dimensional design, darkness, lots of negative space. A lot of his content and reference photos exhibited single light source lasers and the dark film noir sense of shadows. In all our conversations he kept bringing up dimensionality.”
The designer started playing with dimensional rigs which would hang in front of the video wall, in the sight lines. “One of the issues I was having was finding a way to make it so the content would still play well in the shadow of the six squares. Which led me to the ROE Vanish 8T V2 tiles.”
Merging early Hollywood silent films with the latest video technology, the chapter markers are presented as graphic titles on the upstage LED screen. A succession of six, custom-fabricated squares by Gallagher Staging are hung in front of that screen. Ascending in size from 3×3 meters to 8×8 meters, these squares serve multiple platforms in the show, at times creating the ‘portal’ leading into the tesseract and other dimensions graphically exposed on the upstage LED screen. At other times Video Engineer Keenan sends content to them, evoking a three-dimensional aspect to the screen, illuminating a unique perspective.
The squares are hung from an overhead truss grid which nestles the rest of the lighting system. Attached to the façade of these squares are 132 Martin VDO Fatron 20’s. Keenan is the one who facilitates the content and implements it. He explains, “When I sat down with Ray [Elemento], I told him that I wanted to timecode as much as I could in the video; it allows the show to hit properly every single time. You know when things are going to react, you know when the video is going to come in, when it’s going to black out. And it leaves the ability for Spencer, our Lighting Director to let the lasers have their moments as well. That’s a big aspect of this: creating these moments for everyone. Jesse definitely allowed me to be creative, which I appreciate a lot.”
Mixing Lighting, Video, and Lasers “Video does not have to be present every second of the show,” Keenan continues. “I’ve been doing this enough to know that doesn’t need to be the case; turning off video allows for black moments where lighting can shine, lasers can shine; it allows the other elements to breathe. And, you know, vice versa. Lasers come off and it’s just video and it allows the content to show and let the rest of the lights and lasers breathe. I think playing off each other that way allows people’s eyes to adjust and relax. Both Larry and Jesse were after those created moments. They’re like, ‘let’s just let this ride and let lights go dark and the visuals play.”
Keenan runs everything in Resolume. Instead of having clips he’s created a timeline-based show. The squares introduce the audience into the different universes and into the Tesseract world, so to speak. “With Resolume there’s this cool thing in Resident Fixture Editor where you can add light fixtures to Resolume instead of just a video wall. That way you can pixel map content to fixtures. I talked to Spencer before we got into pre-viz and the workflow—that I’ve done in the past—is I’ll make a pixel map, basically create the squares themselves in Resolume and then send him all that DMX data. Then he can control when it goes to the squares, and I have control; or when he has control and was able to just set that up in his cue stacks. I have the ability to send what is happening on the video wall to the squares themselves.”
Previz and Programming Mahowald, Keenan and Michaels spent 10 days of pre-viz at the Bending Lite Studio in Denver. After which, Mahowald continued onto rehearsals for seven days at the Armory in Minneapolis, which is also where the first show was. “I do 30 or more large scale festival designs a year, and more often than not EDM demands bright, full-on 600 lights moving all the time,” describes Mahowald. “With the TESSERACT Tour I pushed the programmers to go to the dark side. Use the negative space. This helped isolate and create the moments Jesse wanted.”
Mahowald continues, “Spencer is a great programmer and has a very unique way of timecoding his shows. He wanted to move over to the MA3 for this tour, which was great because his programming on the MA3 is incredible. Also, the board has a really fantastic workflow. You know, from my perspective of being a designer, he was a very fast programmer. He was very, very efficient in how he used his system. And of course, when I get to work with someone like Spencer and Jake, it was terrific. Both were really easy to work with.”
Lighting Director Michaels had been working with Subtronics since the FRACTAL Tour in 2022 and was excited to collaborate when the design duties were offered to Mahowald. “After working with Erik, I realized how much fun it is to work with him, how talented he is, and what an amazing designer he is. He brings the design to life and gives me an amazing playground to work in and do what I love doing, which is programming. I got to spend all my energy and efforts in the programming side rather than splitting my efforts trying to design, program it, and run it.”
Key Equipment Choices “Jesse has full trust in myself and Jake and the Visual Team,” Michaels continues. “Specifically with lighting and lasers he has a lot of trust in me. I’m a big fan of hybrid fixtures. Something that has a tight beam and a big gobo wash, all in the same fixture. We’re using the Martin Axiom as our hybrid fixture. For the strobe, we’re using the [GLP] JDC1. It’s a classic workhorse. We use it in the 68-channel mode, so we have the full flexibility with individual pixels and big strobe hits. We use the Robe Forte as a key light, which is great because I can shutter in a nice sculpted look on Jesse. Then we have some [TMB] Solaris Flares under the platform grate to underlight him.”
In terms of SFX, there are six flame units that get used quite a bit during the show. “We always get quite a fun reaction from the crowd with those!” laughs Michaels. “We have Elle Matthews, our stage manager, either calling or operating the SFX console. I have DMX control of the smoke and haze machines. I’m constantly riding the levels to make sure that we’re not smoking up the video wall. The lasers still look impactful. The lighting still looks impactful. I would just like to say how pleasant it has been to work with these very talented folks; all the same mindset, all trying to do their best to get the show looking its best. And again, working with Jesse is always a pleasure.”
Vendor and Crew Support Barcello turned to LMG to provide full production for the TESSERACT Tour. “Their reputation, staff, and they have a rehearsal space in Vegas where we could hang the production made them the obvious choice,” Barcello notes. “The fact LMG has a rehearsal studio at that depot was of immense help.”
“You know, you would think just building some squares is pretty simple,” laughs Barcello. “It’s really not at all, considering the fact that we have to attach these very specific fixtures that have very specific connection points. The [Martin] Fatron comes in 1m and 2m sections. We had to methodically and specifically fabricate these two-inch square pieces to avoid any potential rolling on those fixtures as you’re building it and flying it out. We have roughly (300) 2” squares, so Gallagher provided clamps that we use instead of the Fatron accessories. Jimmy Russo and the Gallagher guys did a good job,” continues Barcello. “We were operating on a tight timeline and it all kind of worked out because Gallagher now has a fabrication shop based out of Las Vegas and that’s where LMG pulled the show.”
Barcello also states, “I really can’t express enough praise for our road crew. Our video crew does the job of four people. The wall is 55’ wide and 34’ tall. We’ve built this in as little as 26 minutes, and the fastest that we’ve broken it down is 14 minutes. Our touring crew are all absolute beasts as well as some of the nicest and most genuine people in the world. Our camp is really big on treating everyone with respect and dignity, from the stagehands we work with on a daily basis to the local venue staff that help us organize living on the road. We’re all stagehands when you get down to it; that’s how most of us started in this business.”
Mahowald concludes, “It was a challenging build. It is really awesome when you nail it. This one was one of those ones where it really just came together, and the concept translated into the real world very, very well.”
A VENDOR VIEW with LMG
LMG was the lighting and video vendor for the Subtronics Tesseract Tour 2024, with Kevin Mass, and Max Tuchman as the LMG technical project managers supporting the production. LMG Account Exec Karol Luczkiewicz discussed with PLSN why LMG are uniquely positioned to be the vendor for Subtronics.
“LMG is a full service production company; one stop shopping at its best, and for Subtronics we provided a 360 ⁰ solution. Media servers, LED wall, lighting, rigging, and audio were prepped and launched from our Las Vegas facility,” says Luczkiewicz .
Implementing the design of six, square outlined structures was the first hurdle in pulling the show together. The centerpiece of the show, designer Erik Mahowald of bendinglite had come up with the concept. “Erik, the lighting/ production designer, had specced these six custom square frames ranging from 3 meters square to 8 meters square. There’s a lot of three-dimensional content that is deployed on this show,” continues Luczkiewicz.
Positioned from the downstage edge to just in front of the upstage LED wall, which is comprised of 153 ROE Visual Vanish panels, they hung from an overhead truss grid that nestled the rest of the lighting system. Attached to the façade of each square via custom cheeseboroughs were 132 Martin VDO Fatron 20’s that are able to process and display the video content as well as provide illumination.
“We partnered with Gallagher Staging in the fabrication process of bringing these video squares to life,” adds Luczkiewicz. “ They also play a huge part in the story arc Subtronics creates as he brings the audience through portals into the tesseract.”
LMG had had worked with production manager Larry Barcello last year when he was the Tour Director for DJ Duo Two Friends on a small club/amphitheater summer tour in 2023. He used LMG again for lighting and video on a one off event for Subtronics in Vegas at the end of 2023. This laid the groundwork for Barcello again reaching out- this time for the entire production package.
“I think,” continues Luczkiewicz, “Larry was well aware of our extensive technical support team for providing successful support on those previous projects. That and the fact they were looking to deploy some highly customized structure led him to turn to us for solutions on this tour. Kevin Mass and Max Tuchman, our technical project managers for the tour did a lot of work helping deal with any issues that came up with networking and resolving any rigging issues. Kevin was the key player and the key drafter for all of the rigging, production overlays, and all the Vectorworks drawings. Max went on to rehearsals onsite to provide immediate support if needed,” Luczkiewicz says.
LMG Touring provided the Audio lead and systems engineer. The rest were from Barcellos staff. “I think our ability to have experienced knowledgeable people onsite during rehearsals; is a major factor as to why LMG is successful,” notes Luczkiewicz. I also believe space was the biggest key player in our selection as the vendor. We were able to hang the entire rig , including the LED wall and the custom squares in our Vegas facility so it was “show ready” when it went in the truck heading for rehearsal at the Armory in Minneapolis. Another factor in our favor is we are a one stop, full production shop. That means one phone call to one person; me. They’re not hunting down different people for an answer. I’m the one source of contact and I in turn do the legwork to solve any issues. That facilitates a very streamlined system.”
Once the tour is out the door, LMG maintains a constant flow of checking in on the tour. “I check in with Larry every few days after every couple shows just to kind of see if they need a care package if they’re doing OK out there,” says
I’m very impressed with Larry . It was a big relief to have someone as organized and as thorough as Larry is. All too often we don’t hear a word until a week or so before something goes out the door. Larry was on top of this all the way . The crew he has out there are equally as efficient. He has assembled a very diligent, very strong, and experienced production crew,” concludes Luczkiewicz.

TESSERACT CRASH LAND WITH CINEMATIC ‘LEGION’ SINGLE & VIDEO NEW ALBUM ‘WAR OF BEING’ OUT NOW
Celebrating the album’s release at London, UK’s ‘The Gallery’ at Tileyard, fans were treated to an exclusive 5.1 Dolby Atmos playback, intimate Q&A hosted by Alyx Holcombe (BBC Radio 1) and able to experience the ‘War Of Being’ game in VR. After which there was a worldwide exclusive first look at the spell binding video for third single ‘Legion’, the set of which was available for guests to interact with. Now, following the immensely successful unveiling of their new album ‘War Of Being’, today the band have made this magnificent cinematic experience available for the world over.
‘Legion’, is proof that despite being able to create songs that are larger than life, TesseracT ensure that the human element of a genre so often devoid of emotion remains strong. Musically it showcases the versatility and ability of Daniel Tompkins’ effortless range and power.
Regarding the track, Daniel Tompkins had the following to say:
“Conceptually, Legion sets the scene by introducing 'Fear' and its various cunning forms .” Says Tompkins “Fear binds and restricts us from unlocking truth and obscures the paths that lay ahead in a deliberate attempt to skew our vision. From the perspective of our two main characters (Ex and El), Legion sees Fear tearing the fabric of their lives apart, as they experience their world crumble whilst dealing with the chaos and confusion surrounding them. The music video focusses on Ex's experience of the same chaos, taking hold of The Dream as it crashes on 'The Strangeland' - The introduction to the story of the War Of Being.”
The video, Directed by Richard Oakes (Dark Fable Media) depicts the opening scene for the concept behind the ‘War Of Being’, written by Amos Williams. Ex (played by Dan Tompkins) gives an intense and emotional performance as things start to go wrong aboard ‘The Dream’, before crashing on ‘The Strangeland’.
“… one of the best albums of the year” – Album of The Month - Rock Hard FR
“Bon voyage to The Strangeland” – 4/5 – URN
“…a turning point” – 87/100 – Rumore
“exudes an almost beguilingly beautiful and monumental atmosphere.”- Metal Hammer DE
"...the band's most dynamic, varied, complex and at the same time most accessible... eclipsed
“This band’s quintessential release – not to mention a frontrunner for metal album of the year.”- 9/10 - Metal Hammer
“…not only TesseracT’s most accomplished record to date, but it’s one that adds greater extravagance wonder and distinction” – PROG
‘The Grey’ builds on signature grooves that undulate in TesseracT’s sound flanked by polyrhythmic rhythms tied together by the band’s iconic melodies. It’s yet another example of the multi-faceted appeal of their sound and proves that they can craft immediate and affecting tracks just as masterfully as their epic 11 minutes opuses.
Regarding the track, Amos Williams had the following to say:
The Grey explores the story and character within the Strangeland of the same name. A character who has suppressed their own voice to the point that they have blended into the shadows, their story lost amongst the white noise of the world. Through the song we experience their journey as they wrestle with their frustration and sorrow at how they have ended up this way.
It's a powerful, energetic piece that pushes each member of TesseracT to a next level of musicianship and expression. And continues to shine a light upon the diversity that can be expected from War Of Being.
Alongside the release of the single is a fully functional, immersive videogame titled ‘War Of Being’. Launched on August 11 th , the user can enter the world of the album bridging the gap between listening and experience to create a living, breathing concept that brings you closer to the world of TesseracT than ever before.
In celebration of the early access game, the band have made a visualiser for the single which incorporates areas seen in the game alongside the track itself and was created by Amos Williams.
In the game’s ‘Early Access’ fans can expect to explore several surreal landscapes, meet characters from the concept of ‘War Of Being’ and solve puzzles in order to unlock parts of TesseracT’s second single ‘The Grey. The end of the game will unlock the full song where the play can listen from within the same breathtaking landscapes used in the ‘War Of Being’ music video.
After finishing the album recording in August 2022, singer and frontman of TesseracT Daniel Tompkins immediately began his focus on developing War Of Being VR and desktop computer game based entirely on the album’s original concept, created by Amos Williams and himself. Tompkins is the lead designer and developer of the game alongside Adam Boyt (Programmer / Developer) and Kirsty Harvey (3D Designer).
Regarding the game Dan said the following:
As a keen gamer and live streamer I have always understood the potential waiting for a musical project to bridge the gap between the gaming and music worlds and with such a visually stunning concept, I could see that this was the perfect opportunity to bring it to life in virtual reality and as a desktop game.
“This has been without a doubt the biggest project I have personally ever undertaken and is a huge achievement for our developers. It has pushed us to our absolute limits and I'm so proud to have accomplished the beginnings of a fully developed game on Steam.”
The game will be available exclusively on Steam for £4.99 UK and playable in VR on Viva / Rift S and Oculus accompanied by a SteamDeck playable version.
TesseracT debut ‘War of Being’ with an EPIC CINEMATIC VIDEO
Plus details of the war of being world tour.
Five years since the release of Sonder, TesseracT have returned with their new album ‘War Of Being’ OUT NOW. The Dream has crash landed and ‘ex and ‘el’ awaken to find themselves in ‘The Strangeland’, facing a foe known simply as ‘Fear’ the two are separated and so begins the journey of ‘War Of Being’…
The album opens with the reverie shattering ‘Natural Disaster’, followed by the pendulum swing of ‘Legion’. That slingshots us into the herculean title track - the album's 11 minute centrepiece that undulates with precision and power. When coupled with the beguiling melodies of ‘The Grey’, or the unshielded honesty of ‘Burden’, the band deliver their most impassioned release to date - an album to excite and inspire. Acle Kahney, Daniel Tompkins, Amos Williams , Jay Postones, and James Monteith truly have crafted a phenomenal set of immersive, absorbing sounds.
‘War Of Being’ was recorded at Middle Farm Studios in the United Kingdom with Peter Miles ( Architects/Sylosis/Dodie ) co-producing with the band alongside Katherine Marsh of Choir Noir ( Bring Me The Horizon / Architects / Marillion ). Assisting with additional programming and production, the band were joined by Randy Slaugh ( Periphery , Architects , Devin Townsend ). With additional engineering by Forrester Savell ( Karnivool ). The artwork, which features characters ‘ex’ and ‘el’ was created in collaboration between AI and human as a means to extend the concept into its presentation.
TesseracT bassist Amos Williams states:
“War Of Being has been all encompassing for us since late 2019 . After I returned home from filming P O R T A L S I found myself in such a deeply introspective headspace. The scale of work and reward from that project kind of set this up to be inevitable. We simply had to try and see how far we could take a concept album with TesseracT.
Within these songs the band has given life to the themes and ideas that are personified within the characters of The Strangeland story. It’s certainly been a catharsis and a way for me to explore the internal dissonance.”
‘War Of Being’, the first single to be released from the album of the same name, is an eleven-minute visual extravaganza and provides the perfect prologue for the album’s aurally and visually immersive story. Written and Directed by Found Format alongside 2 nd unit director Richard Oakes / Dark Fable Media (Sleep Token) - the feature length video proves that TesseracT remain not only pioneers but innovators in a movement of their own making. Be sure to wait until the very end of the clip for the next piece of the puzzle to be revealed…
Regarding the track, Daniel Tompkins, the band’s vocalist, had the following to say:
“War Of Being is a fight for acceptance, a battle of existence and a resistance against ego. It’s a struggle for control as we cut through the white noise of reality. It’s the need to know and identify with oneself, to accept and understand what we stand for and who we are. There is an urgent need to ‘Tear the mask away’ and reveal your true self.”
Leaders not followers, TesseracT exist in a sphere of their own with ambition positively written into the band’s DNA and ‘War Of Being’ is no different.

The Oasis 2025 Tour Tickets Controversy: What Happened and Will Extra Dates Be Added?
A fter breaking up 15 years ago, iconic rock band Oasis announced on Aug. 27 that they would be reuniting for a U.K. and Ireland tour in 2025. The news that formerly feuding brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher will once again share the stage has been met with enthusiasm—but not without controversy.
The announcement of the tour resulted in an "unprecedented demand" for tickets, leading the band to add even more U.K. and Ireland dates. Still, the quest for tickets via Ticketmaster has been marred with frustration over technological issues, pricing, and touts.
Here’s a breakdown of the Oasis ticketing controversy and where things currently stand.
Issues with Ticketmaster
On Friday, Aug. 30, fans who had been selected in the pre-sale ballot waited in a queue on Ticketmaster—which dominates concert and sporting tickets around the world—ahead of the three-hour window for pre-sale purchases. On X (formerly Twitter), many fans complained about technical difficulties preventing them from accessing tickets. Some people got locked out of their Ticketmaster accounts , or were virtually queuing behind tens of thousands of people, only to be kicked out of the Ticketmaster queue or to receive an error notification once they finally reach the checkout stage of the ticket-buying process.
When the tickets went on general sale on Saturday, Aug. 31, fans complained of the same issues.

Former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson, widely known to be a long-time Oasis fan, even entered the conversation. While attending the Italian Grand Prix on Saturday afternoon, he shared that he had been in the queue for reunion tour tickets , but was unlucky and hadn’t received a (pre-sale ballot) code.
In addition to the queuing and technical problems, there’s also been backlash about the prices. Within an hour of the pre-sale, tickets appeared on re-selling sites for triple the face value.
Oasis spoke out on X about the controversy and prices, telling fans that tickets can only be re-sold at face value via certain websites. “Tickets appearing on other secondary ticketing sites are either counterfeit or will be cancelled by the promoters,” the post read.
Yet, the controversy is also connected to Ticketmaster’s own price raising, since during the sale, they upped their own prices for “in-demand” tickets. As fans finally entered the ticket-selection portion of the website, they found out that tickets that were originally £148 ($194) were being sold at £355 ($466) . Ticketmaster introduced this “ in-demand” dynamic pricing system in 2022 , which allows their prices to inflate according to the market demand.
Fans referred to the raised ticket prices as " problematic ," with some comparing Ticketmaster to touts.
"In demand standing ticket" is just a standard standing ticket except double the price. No difference between Ticketmaster and touts. #OasisDublin pic.twitter.com/IcfX715wEJ — Darragh Moriarty (@darragh_mor) August 31, 2024
"As anticipated, millions of fans accessed our site and were placed in a queue, which moved along as they bought tickets,”a Ticketmaster spokesperson told TIME in an email. “We always advise fans to hold their place in line, make sure they're only using one tab, clear cookies, and ensure they aren't using any VPN software on their device.”
They added: “To clarify, Ticketmaster does not set ticket prices.” On its website, Ticketmaster states: “Promoters and artists set ticket prices. Prices can be either fixed or market-based. Market-based tickets are labeled as ‘Platinum’ or ‘In Demand.’”
This is not the first time Ticketmaster has been at the heart of controversy over their ticket system. During the sale for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, the company came under fire after fans waited in a queue for hours during pre-sale, just for the website to glitch at the last moment, with Ticketmaster eventually canceling the general sale.
Are Oasis adding extra shows to the 2025 U.K. and Ireland tour?
Due to the difficulties and demand for tickets, many fans called for Oasis to add more tour dates to their 2025 tour in the U.K. and Ireland. The request for more dates come after Oasis already added an additional three extra shows in the U.K. ahead of the tickets going on sale.
In light of the public demand, on Sept. 4, Oasis announced two extra tour dates at Wembley Stadium, London, set to take place in September 2025. In a post shared on X, the group said: "Tickets will be sold by a staggered, invitation-only ballot process. Applications to join the ballot will be opened first to the many U.K. fans who were unsuccessful in the initial on sale with Ticketmaster."

TIME has reached out to Oasis’ representatives for comment.
How are government officials in the U.K. and Ireland responding to the rising complaints?
Government officials in the U.K. and Ireland have spoken out amid rising complaints from disgruntled Oasis fans. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke on BBC’s Radio 5 Live show , stating the government will address the issue of dynamic pricing—the name given to the pricing system that raises costs by demand.
“This is really important, because this isn’t just an Oasis problem. This is a problem for tickets for all sorts of events, where people go online straight away, as soon as they can, and within seconds sometimes, sometimes minutes, all the tickets are gone, and the prices start going through the roof, which means many people can’t afford it,” Starmer said. “We have to stop that. We’re consulting on that. I do think there are a number of things that we can do, and we should do.”
Meanwhile, Lucy Powell, the Leader of the House of Commons, also went on the show, and in discussing the dynamic pricing concept, said she was upset to see “inflated prices excluding ordinary fans.” She went on to say that the government plans to investigate “issues around the transparency and use of dynamic pricing, including the technology around queuing systems which incentivise it.”
The conversation is prevalent in Ireland, also, as Tánaiste Micheál Martin, the Deputy Prime Minister, has spoken out about the debacle to Irish news outlet RTÉ . He said there could be a role for the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) to investigate it. He went on to say he hoped those behind the ticket sales would “reflect” on the issues present.
“I do think we need a strong reflection on this runaway inflation in costs,” Martin said. “Clearly it was beyond the reach of many, many people to purchase or to be in a position to afford to get to a concert given the acceleration of price increases around the tickets.”

Speaking to NME in April 2023 , band member Dot Major teased that London Grammar were “definitely getting there” with their next full-length project. “We’re all really excited, because it’s been a little while – as it always is with us,” he explained.
Guitarist Dan Rothman told NME in July 2022 that the trio had “been working on” their fourth album throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Similarly, London Grammar previously hinted in an interview with NME that their next LP could be their “best one yet” . At the time, frontwoman Reid said it would contain “a lot of deep, philosophical questions about life, relationships and love”.
As for Mayberry, last year, the Chvrches frontwoman embarked on her solo career. Previously speaking to NME about the venture , Mayberry shared: “There’s always nervousness. For any frontperson in a band, but especially a woman, as soon as you say the words ‘solo material’ people get very upset with you. I feel like every second sentence is, ‘I’m not breaking up the band, guys, however…’
“But we’re lucky enough to have fans that care so much that they don’t want it to break up. I feel grateful, but I’m trying to be reassuring to them – ‘Just give us a couple more years guys, it’s going to be fine’.”
She also shared that her solo material – which she previously described as “fun, freaky, sad, weird, joyful” – was easy to compartmentalise as “it was born out of things that I couldn’t or wouldn’t write in the band”.
So far, Mayberry has released three singles, 2023’s ‘ Are You Awake ’ and ‘ Shame ’ as well as 2024’s ‘ Change Shapes ’.

Harris campaign launches ‘reproductive freedom’ bus tour that starts in Florida
- Associated Press
Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign is launching a “Reproductive Freedom Bus Tour” next week, as it looks to motivate voters ahead of November.
The first stop will be Tuesday in Florida, with an event near former President Donald Trump’s home in Palm Beach.
“Our campaign is hitting the road to meet voters in their communities, underscore the stakes of this election for reproductive freedom, and present them with the Harris-Walz ticket’s vision to move our country forward, which stands in stark contrast to Donald Trump’s plans to drag us back,” said Harris-Walz Campaign Manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez in a statement. “As we crisscross the country, we’ll be driving that contrast home to red and blue voters and independents.”
U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., is scheduled to speak Tuesday. The tour heads to Jacksonville on Wednesday, with state Sen. Tracie Davis, D-Jacksonville, on deck, and then to Savannah, Georgia, on Thursday.
The 50-stop tour will travel across the country ahead of the November election.

WATCH: Harris delivers remarks at campaign rally in Savannah on final day of Georgia bus tour
Vice President Kamala Harris delivered remarks at a campaign rally in Savannah on Thursday, the final day of her campaign’s bus tour through Georgia.
Watch the event in the player above.
Harris’ remarks came ahead of a joint interview with her running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on Thursday night.
The interview with CNN’s Dana Bash will give Harris a chance to quell criticism that she has eschewed uncontrolled environments, while also giving her a fresh platform to define her campaign and test her political mettle ahead of an upcoming debate with former President Donald Trump set for Sept. 10. But it also carries risk as her team tries to build on momentum from the ticket shakeup following Joe Biden’s exit and last week’s Democratic National Convention.
Joint interviews during an election year are a fixture in politics; Biden and Harris, Trump and Mike Pence, Barack Obama and Biden — all did them at a similar point in the race. The difference is those other candidates had all done solo interviews, too. Harris hasn’t yet done an in-depth interview since she became her party’s standard bearer five weeks ago, though she did sit for several while she was still Biden’s running mate.
Harris and Walz are still introducing themselves to voters, unlike Trump and Biden of whom people had near-universal awareness and opinion.
The CNN interview is set to air at 9 p.m. EDT. It is scheduled to be taped at 1:45 p.m. EDT during her two-day bus tour through southeast Georgia that culminates with an evening rally in Savannah. Harris campaign officials believe that in order to win the state over Trump in November, she must make inroads in GOP strongholds across the state.
WATCH: Harris and Walz speak to students in Hinesville during Georgia bus tour stop
Harris, during her time as vice president, has done on-camera and print interviews with The Associated Press and many other outlets, a much more frequent pace than the president — except for Biden’s late-stage media blitz following his disastrous debate performance that touched off the end of his campaign.
Harris’ lack of media access over the past month has become one of Republicans’ key attack lines. The Trump campaign has kept a tally of the days she has gone by as a candidate without giving an interview and have suggested she needs a “babysitter” and that’s why Walz will be there.
“Dana Bash of CNN has a chance at greatness today. If she gave a fair but tough interview of Comrade Kamala Harris, she will expose her as being totally inept and ill suited for the job of President, much as I exposed Crooked Joe Biden during our now famous Debate,” Trump posted online Thursday. “How cool would that be for Dana and CNN???”
Trump has largely steered toward conservative media outlets when granting interviews, though he has held more open press conferences in recent weeks as he sought to reclaim the spotlight that Harris’ elevation had claimed.
After the CNN interview, Walz will peel off and Harris will continue the bus tour alone, heading to a rally before going back to Washington. On Wednesday, they sent time with a high school marching band to the delight of students, and stopped by a Savannah barbecue restaurant.
Harris campaign communications director Michael Tyler said bus tours offer an “opportunity to get to places we don’t usually go (and) make sure we’re competing in all communities.”
The campaign wants the events to motivate voters in GOP-leaning areas who don’t traditionally see the candidates, and hopes that the engagements drive viral moments that cut through crowded media coverage to reach voters across the country.
The stops are meant as moments where voters can learn “not just what they stand for, but who they are as people,” Tyler said.

Trump Team Clashed With Official at Arlington National Cemetery
The military cemetery said in a statement that federal law prohibits political campaigning on the grounds, and that “there was an incident, and a report was filed.”

Members of Donald J. Trump’s campaign team and an official at Arlington National Cemetery confronted each other during the former president’s visit to the cemetery on Monday, the military cemetery said in a statement on Tuesday.
The altercation was prompted, according to Trump campaign officials, by the presence of a photographer in a section of the cemetery where American troops who were killed in recent wars are buried. The cemetery released a statement saying that federal law prohibits political campaigning or “election-related” activities within Army cemeteries, including by photographers.
An official with the cemetery tried to “physically block” members of Mr. Trump’s team, Steven Cheung, a Trump campaign spokesman, said in a statement. Mr. Cheung added that the cemetery official was “clearly suffering from a mental health episode” and that the campaign was prepared to release footage of the confrontation to support its account of the clash. The campaign did not provide that footage after several requests.
Chris LaCivita, a top Trump campaign adviser, added in a separate statement that the cemetery official was “a disgrace and does not deserve to represent the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery.”
Cemetery officials did not provide their own account of the encounter, saying instead that “there was an incident, and a report was filed.” In an additional statement on Wednesday, a spokeswoman for the cemetery said that “to protect the identity of the individual involved, no further information about the incident is being released at this time.”
The cemetery added that it had “reinforced and widely shared” to the Trump campaign the federal laws prohibiting campaign activities by photographers “or any other persons attending for purposes, or in direct support of a partisan political candidate’s campaign.”
News of the altercation was first reported by NPR.
VoteVets, the liberal veterans group, called on Mr. Trump to fire the members of his team involved in the confrontation.
Mr. Trump had visited the cemetery for a wreath-laying ceremony honoring 13 American troops who were killed in a suicide bombing at Abbey Gate at the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, during the United States’ withdrawal from that country three years ago. Mr. Trump has blamed President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for the bombing and America’s chaotic withdrawal, and repeated his attacks on the subject in campaign events after his visit to the cemetery.
Mr. Trump had laid three wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery on Monday morning, the third anniversary of the Abbey Gate bombing. Two of the wreaths were for Marines killed: Staff Sgt. Darin Taylor Hoover and Sgt. Nicole Gee. A third was dedicated to all 13 troops killed.
Mr. Trump was accompanied for the laying of the wreaths by family members of the slain troops, as well as Sgt. Tyler Vargas-Andrews and Corporal Kelsee Lainhart , two Marines who were injured in the Abbey Gate attack. Sergeant Vargas-Andrews lost his right arm and left leg in the attack, and Corporal Lainhart was paralyzed in the attack and now uses a wheelchair.
Mr. Trump then accompanied the families and Marine veterans to Section 60 of the cemetery, reserved for those recently killed in America’s wars abroad, including at Abbey Gate.
That part of Mr. Trump’s visit was private and closed to the press. Mr. Cheung, the Trump campaign spokesman, pointed to a screenshot of an email that he argued gave the campaign photo access to Section 60. That excerpt, however, says that “former President Trump may have an official photographer and/or videographer outside of the main media pool,” but it does not suggest Mr. Trump’s photographer was given special access.
The campaign also shared text messages from family members of the veterans consenting to having Mr. Trump’s campaign media attend the event at Section 60. The campaign did not provide evidence that the cemetery gave them permission to have a photographer at Section 60 — which the cemetery said in its statement would be a violation of federal law.
Gov. Spencer J. Cox, Republican of Utah — who visited the cemetery with Mr. Trump — shared a photo from Section 60 on social media, with Mr. Trump and others in a “thumbs-up” pose around the grave of Staff Sergeant Hoover.

Oasis confirms ‘special’ system for extra date tickets after general sale backlash
Share this with
Those who were unsuccessful in securing an Oasis tour ticket should stop crying their heart out as more are on the way.
After the huge demand for tickets to see Liam and Noel Gallagher reunite, the duo have announced two more Wembley shows — with a ‘special’ selection process.
Tickets quickly sold out for the 2025 stadium tour , with fans lamenting over endless queuing and controversial dynamic pricing .
Sir Keir Starmer has even promised to investigate the inflated prices as Oasis received over 450 complaints about the mayhem.
While prices are still a sore subject, anyone who missed out on tickets could get another chance as the formerly feuding brothers have announced two September gigs.
They wrote on X: ‘UK 🇬🇧 Two extra Wembley Stadium shows have been added due to phenomenal demand.
‘Tickets will be sold by a staggered, invitation-only ballot process. Applications to join the ballot will be opened first to the many UK fans who were unsuccessful in the initial on sale with Ticketmaster.’
The shows will be at Wembley stadium on September 27 and September 28, 2025.
There are more details to follow but it seems this may be a limited sale, similar to the pre-sale ballot to attempt to calm down traffic.
‘As soon as the 17 dates sold out Noel and Liam said they wanted to put on more concerts,’ a source told The Sun .
‘They will announce two more Wembley shows on Friday – and are hoping to work out dates for even more shows.
‘They were stunned by the demand for tickets and want to give back to their fans as much as they can.’

Millions of Brits spent the entirety of Saturday, August 31, frantically attempting to buy tickets to the unexpected reunion.
Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) confirmed they had received 450 individual complaints over ‘misleading claims on availability and pricing.’
Sir Keir Starmer issued a statement on the problem, which gig-goers have been venting about for quite some time, stating it was ‘unfair’ on customers.
The Prime Minister told Matt Chorley on BBC Radio 5 Live on Monday that ‘This is really important, because this isn’t just an Oasis problem.’
He continued: ‘This is a problem for tickets for all sorts of events, where people go online straight away, as soon as they can, and within seconds sometimes, sometimes minutes, all the tickets are gone, and the prices start going through the roof, which means many people can’t afford it.
‘You have to stop that. We’re consulting on that.’
