I Went to Taylor Swift's Eras Tour and Spotted These 5 Pretty Trends Everywhere

It's been almost two months since I attended Taylor Swift's Eras Tour at MetLife Stadium, and I'm still buzzing over the otherworldly experience. I've been to concerts in the past, but nothing has even remotely come close to the whirlwind of emotions that this three-hour show entailed. After all, the tour does recap all 10 of Swift's studio albums, encapsulating each time period through various sets and costumes, not to mention the music. My heartstrings were tugged at my teenage years being relived, and I almost lost my voice singing along to the 10-minute version of "All Too Well." But lyrical impact put aside, as a fashion editor, I couldn't help but notice the importance of the outfits through it all. 

When you first enter the stadium, you're surrounded by an army of Swifties, all shimmering in sequined dresses, bespoke costumes, and a plethora of handmade friendship bracelets ready to be traded. You could identify each era amongst the crowd, highlighting each attendee's personal Swift preference through their chosen outfits. I spent weeks scrolling through people's outfit videos on TikTok, with the popular sound of an AI-generated Swift declaring, "Oh my god, your Eras Tour outfit looks so f*cking good," repeatedly playing in my head on a loop. However, seeing thousands of people with different looks was a fashion highlight. 

Unlike other concerts, a singular look or theme doesn't define The Eras Tour. Fans aren't just pulling inspiration from an outfit based on appearance (or comfort). They're connecting to the moments of Swift's life (and discography) they feel most connected to. I opted for a black-sequined look in honor of Reputation (and because I currently need a little rebellious courage in my life). Swift's performance costumes are created with immense detail and are often changed and updated to reflect new developments. Some might even sneakily feature a few easter eggs for her fans to solve. Her opening look, a custom Versace bodysuit, has already seen a few iterations since her first show. 

My trend-reporting cap is always on, so I noted the common themes I spotted throughout the night. Keep scrolling to see and shop if you're heading to one of Swift's upcoming tour dates. 

A core part of Swift's tour wardrobe has always been full-sequined looks, and things got even more bejeweled   during this one. 

Fans took it seriously when Swift sang, "So make the friendship bracelets; Take the moment and taste it" in her album Midnights.

When Folklore   won Best Album of the Year at the 2021 Grammys, Swift wore a custom floral Oscar de la Renta dress that was immediately added to many Pinterest boards. 

To emphasize the message in "The Man," many fans wore their most glamorous power suits. (Swift also donned a sequined blazer while performing the catchy song.)

You can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl. Despite being years past her country era, many fans still paid tribute to the days of "Picture to Burn" with stylish western elements.

I normally wouldn't describe edgy elements as "pretty," but something about how Swift and her fans incorporated the mood of her 2017 album Reputation   was nothing short of stunning. I spotted many black sequin moments and snake motifs.

“Bejeweled”

“Bejeweled” really is the gift that keeps on giving. Not only did it give us an iconic dance (thanks, @mikaelarellano ), but now you can use it to show off your makeup for the Eras Tour, too.

According to @sabrinaannesocials ’ mini tutorial , all you have to do is set your timer to 6.8 and tap the screen, then dab your makeup brush on the camera at the end of the first clip and start of the second.

“Cruel Summer”

It’s about to be a not-so “ Cruel Summer ” thanks to the Eras Tour, but you can still use the song in your concert transition, just like @hayleejoe did in their TikTok.

“Look What You Made Me Do”

Don’t think we forgot about you, Reputation fans, because this transition to “ Look What You Made Me Do ” from @alyssaomahen literally lets you show off what Taylor made you do — dress cute, that is.

Here’s another Red transition from @hayleejoe , and this time it’s a nod to the title track. The creator used a guitar for their transition, but as long as you cut to your outfit on the lyrics, “Forgetting him was like trying to know / Somebody you never met,” you’re good to go.

Midnights doesn’t have to be your favorite T-Swift album for you to use this transition. User @queencitytrends and her daughter used this “ Karma ” transition by lip-syncing the words “Oh, my God, your Eras Tour outfit looks so f*cking good” in a regular t-shirt and sweats combo, before covering the camera. Once they were all dolled up and ready to go, the mom released her hand from the camera to reveal their looks for the night.

“The Lucky One”

Certified Swiftie @hayleejoe is at it again with another transition to “ The Lucky One ,” so if your outfit is inspired by Red , you’ve got plenty of options to choose from. To use the sound, dance around to the first half of the audio before getting changed, then run your fingers across the screen to reveal your show-stopping concert outfit on the lyrics, “And they’ll tell you now, you’re the lucky one.”

“Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince”

If you’re in your Lover era, you can use this “ Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince ” transition idea from @cathryn.maryclaire.ficks to show off your (probably) pink outfit for the tour.

“Don’t Blame Me”

If you’re going for a moody makeup look a la Reputation , this transition to “ Don’t Blame Me ” by @brookerobertss0 might be exactly what you need — but only if you think you can nail the camera spin into your concert-ready outfit.

“Picture To Burn”

If you’ve been a Swiftie since the singer’s debut album, you’ll definitely want to use this “ Picture To Burn ” transition with your bestie. To do it like @tpwkinley and their friend, one of you will lip-sync the words, “He let her drive the truck? What to Wear to Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, Broken Down by Era

Whether you duked it out with Ticketmaster for tickets or are just going as a very lucky plus-one, you need an outfit that matches the vibe.

If you’re anything like team Marie Claire, you’ve been waiting for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour from the minute that it was announced. And whether you duked it out with Ticketmaster for tickets or are just going as a very lucky plus-one, you need an outfit that matches the vibe. Or, should I say, matches the eras of Swift’s music. 

As a fan who got to attend the show in Boston recently, I was amazed at the wide array of looks at my show. Fans were decked out in Reputation -era snake print, glitter-encrusted face paint inspired by Swift's Lovers album cover, and plenty of DIY’d T-shirts from her Speak Now days. The bottom line? The looks varied widely, proving that you can truly go in any direction when picking your outfit for the Eras tour.

I love getting dressed up for concerts, but I also want to make sure that I can wear my new pieces again and again. It was a question I asked myself over and over while shopping for my own Eras Tour ensemble: Is the look good for me for right now, or good for me forever? In the end, I opted for a bedazzled mesh dress that I could also wear again on a night out over jeans or a slip dress . For the show, I opted to style it over a bodysuit for added coverage. 

If you’re heading to the show this summer, there are a few key things to keep in mind, no matter what you wear. The show is long—five hours from the beginning of the opening act to the end of Swift’s set!—so you’ll want to wear comfortable clothing. Plus, if you’re the kind of fan who spends the majority of the concert jumping and dancing like you’re alone in your bedroom, you’ll want to wear something that you don’t have to worry about adjusting. Comfortable footwear is a must, so make sure that your new shoes don’t require breaking in before you go. Finally, the temperature tends to drop at night—especially if you’re at one of Swift’s rainier shows—so packing waterproof layers in your stadium-approved clear bag is key. (I wish I had packed a sweater.)

Ahead, I rounded up a selection of pieces for you to wear to the Eras Tour, broken down by Era. I’ve tried to think of everything: the shoes I’ve selected are known for being comfortable from the first wear. The dresses are comfortable to both sit and move around in. The jackets add warmth when you need them. Plus, many of the pieces below fall in line with some of summer 2023's biggest fashion trends . 

Taylor Swift's Debut Album Era

If you’re dying for a debut self-titled album Secret Song at your show, wear something that harkens back to Swift’s first-ever era. This time in her career was defined by pastel blue and green shades, her iconic curling-iron curls, and her country twang. Consider cowboy boots and sweet tulle skirts. 

Taylor Swift's 'Fearless' Era

Prefer gold to silver? The Fearless era is for you. This album had it all: Fireworks! A sparkly gold guitar! A gold fringed dress! More was more. To make it work, incorporate gold into your look via a pair of trendy sneakers , a going-out top in the hue, or by wearing a pair of viral gold jeans.     

Taylor Swift's 'Speak Now' Era

Speak Now was defined by one color and one color only: A rich purple. It's the color Swift is wearing on the cover of the album, and it's the shade that has stayed attached to the record ever since. Sweet midi dresses and shoes that come in the same shade are go-tos for this era. 

Taylor Swift's 'Red' Era

Red makes for an easy outfit because it only requires that you wear one color—red. Swift also went slightly preppy while on tour for the album, opting for a classic Breton striped shirt and red high-waisted denim . No matter which outfit vibe you choose, don’t forget your heart-shaped sunglasses. 

Taylor Swift's '1989' Era

1989 is one of the more unique albums in Swift’s discography regarding her looks. While she repped matching sets on tour for the album, she's opted for orange ensembles while on the current Eras Tour.

Taylor Swift's 'Reputation' Era

My personal favorite era as someone who loves to wear all-black, Reputation- inspired outfits are perfect for those who prefer a little drama. From the actual sheer mesh dress I wore to my own concert to a statement-making choker necklace priced at under $50, this era is all about going all-out. 

Taylor Swift's 'Lover' Era

If you love playing with color, consider a Lover- era ensemble for your concert. The key colors for this era were bright Barbiecore pink and rich blue, but pastel shades like baby pink and lavender —a trending color for 2023—were also popular. Go all-out with a heart-shaped stencil around your eye, or heart-shaped earrings. 

Taylor Swift's 'Folklore' Era

Folklore was a departure from the previous maximalist Lover era. The aesthetic for the album was a combination of woodland fairy and cottagecore. On-stage, this translates to flowing summer dresses in muted shades like olive green. IRL, pair lacy layers with chunky cardigans and sweet Mary Jane shoes.

Taylor Swift's 'Evermore' Era

Cozy-core fans, the Evermore era is for you. Taylor’s second pandemic album was full of woodland references but, unlike its predecessor, the vibe this time around was very much fall-inspired. Flannel dresses, comfy Birkenstock sandals, and other comfy pieces reign supreme. Shades to highlight include marigold yellow and burnt red. 

Taylor Swift's 'Midnights' Era

Good thing silver everything is one of 2023’s biggest trends—Taylor is obsessed with the shade for her Midnights era. Her looks from this time in her career are about metallics , drama, and deep shades like navy blue and fushia. If you can’t stop listening to “Karma” or You’re On Your Own Kid,” This one is for you.

What to wear to the Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour if you're attending a final London show

Got last-minute Eras tour outfits on your mind? We don't blame you. ICYMI (you didn't), Taylor Swift kicked off the European leg of her sell-out, record-breaking, earthquake -inducing Eras Tour earlier this Spring, and she's now doing her final shows in London. RIP.

She'll be in the continent until she wraps up at Wembley on August 20th (that's only four days away, people) – having completed shows in Munich, Warsaw and Vienna over the past few weeks. Swifties lucky enough to be attending this weekend, are you ready for it ? And more importantly – what are we wearing?

It's not as though we've had little time to prepare. Taylor's first The Eras Tour concert was held in March last year (!), but as is the case with holiday packing and festival outfit selection, we've left it to the last minute.

Last-minute outfit choice is abundant, of course. Particularly if you’re hoping to ditch the merch and curate an outfit inspired by your favourite Era. From the classics on Fearless – here's hoping we see a Love Story proposal – to all The Tortured Poet's Department songs, yes all 31 of them, every era is covered on Taylor’s killer set list . As such, which one to choose – and the best accompanying Eras Tour outfit – remains hot topic in the GLAMOUR office.

If you're a Speak Now girly like our resident Beauty Commerce Writer Denise Primbet , (Taylor's version, ofc.): look towards lilac rhinestones, beading and frills – bonus points for butterflies in undone hair. Denise attended the show which saw Taylor bring Ed Sheeran out on stage (!), on Thursday 15 August, and wore an ASOS DESIGN godet frill midi dress in lilac , and these adorable purple butterfly hair clips from Amazon.

Elsewhere, those taking inspo from the Fearless era should consider tassels and knee-high boots, or, shop a boho maxi dress and cardigan combo if you’re going after Folkore.

If you're a 1989 fan, baby blue is the colour of the moment – paired with denim and a cowboy hat – and you can put a grown-up spin on the Red era with a Reformation crop top you’re sure to wear throughout the summer.

Whatever your chosen era, our in-house Swifties have scoured the internet to find the very best last-minute Taylor Swift Eras Tour outfit. Just remember an arm-full of friendship bracelets to trade on the night.

The first section of the tour is Lover – an era which is signified by growth and comfort – and which sees Taylor kick things off in an iridescent purple custom Versace bodysuit . She pairs it with fishnet tights, a purple mic, and an equally glitzy pair of  custom, studded Louboutin boots .

This sequin-adorned co-ord from ASOS has Lover written all over it – not least because it does all the talking for you. The sequin boots are totally optional (I found some on ASOS Marketplace , if you're on board), but all you really need to finish the look is a pair of heart-shaped sunnies and Beauty Bay's Berries eyeshadow palette . Alongside the the winged liner and red lippie , it'll help you achieve a sweet, Taylor-approved makeup look.

2. Fearless

Fearless is, potentially, my favourite era – one where Taylor keeps hold of the sparkly boots but switches the bodysuit for a shimmery, metallic dress. Fringing is a huge theme across all of her eras, but it's the star of the show in her Fearless custom Roberto Cavalli dress – later traded for another fringed dress, but in silver.

ASOS Design's chain fringe belt will help you recreate the look without having to invest in a sequin fringed dress that you'll likely never wear again. Best worn over a white ruffle mini skirt – that you'll definitely be able to pair with bikinis on a summer holiday later this season. A sequin cami top would act as the perfect take on Taylor's Cavalli number, while a pair of gold cowboy boots nod to the era that cemented Taylor as a global superstar and style icon.

This one's easy. If the era of 22 and I Knew You Were Trouble is your favourite – the one in which Taylor revisits the "Not A Lot Going On At The Moment" T-Shirt from the "22" music video, and later, another shirt that says, “We Are Never Getting Back Together, Like Ever," – then a slogan tee or head-to-toe red is the vibe.

Etsy stocks a variety of Taylor Swift lyric T-shirts, while Taylor's-adored Reformation stocks a bardot knit red top which would absolutely be reworn with jeans throughout the summer. Red lipstick is a must with this Eras Tour outfit.

We've been loving Taylor for quite some time, time, time.

4. Speak Now

Taylor sings one singular song from the Speak Now era in her tour, much-adored Enchanted – and to do so, she has worn a bespoke Nicole + Felicia Couture gown , a Zuhair Murad Couture custom gown , an Ellie Saab Fall 2020 gown, and a gown also by Saab from the 2022 AW collection. All of which a resurgence, in many ways, of the Valentino gown she wore to sing the same song on her Speak Now tour.

Of course, similar levels of glitz might be a tad overboard for attending the concert yourself (no judgement, though) – so opting for purple, as well as butterfly motifs, is a good way to bring her iconic tulle cover to life. ASOS Design's frill mini dress plays into Gen-Z's current adoration of cottagecore , while the clip-in butterflies and More To Come's butterfly top add a playful injection to your Eras Tour outfit.

5. Reputation

Moody, grungy and dark is the vibe for Reputation girlies, and we're convinced this sequin mini dress by Topshop at ASOS is the perfect outfit from which to scream ‘ Don't Blame Me ,’ ‘ Delicate ,’ and ‘ Look What You Made Me Do ’ from the top of your lungs.

You'd be taking inspo from Taylor's own Reputation costume if you invest: she brings fierce energy in an asymmetrical black Roberto Cavalli bodysuit during this segment of the tour. Once again, adorned in sparkles.

6. Folkmore (“Folklore” and “Evermore” combined)

Beautiful boho vibes are the name of the game for those looking for Folkmore-inspired outfit ideas, with milkmaid dresses your best option for mirroring the muted  purple Alberta Ferretti and Alberta Ferretti dresses Taylor wears for this section of the show. Think: fairytale, rustic and whimsical. Comfort is key, obvs, so pair your boho Motel Jati dress with a pair of Gigi Hadid -approved Adidas Gazelles.

Roberto Cavalli is, once again, behind the sequin two-piece that Taylor wears for the era of Blank Space , Shake It Off and Wildest Dreams . But while Taylor opts for magenta or bright green chunky fringe and sequins, we're convinced that taking inspiration from the New York views, girl squad hangouts and seagulls that depicted 1989 is the best route to go down with your outfit.

H&M's strap detail top would look epic paired with white jeans or denim shorts and cowgirl boots – and this cute fur-trimmed cowgirl hat can definitely be reworn at all those hen parties throughout the summer. Throw an open linen shirt over your Eras Tour outfit to fight the British weather.

Released on April 19, 2024, The Tortured Poets Department is the eleventh studio album by Taylor – and her latest. When it dropped earlier this year, it not only set new Spotify streaming records, but resurfaced Kardashian drama and kickstarted a new era for us to gain outfit inspo from.

On #SwiftTok, the TTPD aesthetic has been compared to everything from "greyscale clean girl" to “prep school dropout”, but the easiest – and most in-keeping – ways to mirror the vibe are by following “ office siren ” or “ dark academia ” aesthetics. Think: rose motifs, sleek blazers, tailored trousers, unbuttoned shirts and monochrome. Or, keep it simple with black jeans and this ”But Daddy, I Love Him" tee from Etsy.

9. Midnights

For the last – but not least – era on our outfit tour: Midnights. And in navy blue sequins, you'll look like you've stepped right out of Taylor's age of extravagance and reflection. Being in your Midnights era, after all, is thinking back to past versions of yourself (and wondering whether that's still you). You need to look bejewelled.

Taylor wears a custom Oscar De La Renta gown for this part of her tour, loose-fitting and studded in iridescent crystals – paired with a fur coat, also custom by Oscar De La Renta. She sheds layers as the era progresses, finally revealing a custom Oscar De La Renta bodysuit to perform Vigilante Sh*t . Topshop's navy disco sequin dress is reminiscent of Taylor's look, best paired with hair gems and silver accessories – like this epic shoulder bag from Topshop.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour is in full swing, and fans are having the time of their lives recreating fashion moods past and present as she embarks on her new world tour era. 

Whether you're a folkmore girlie or a forever Speak Now advocate, there's a Taylor style moment for everyone. In Glendale, Arizona, fans flooded Swift City by the tens of thousands, and the looks were sublime. Hamburgers and fries à la "You Need to Calm Down"? Check. An NYU graduation costume? Check. Cowboy boots and sparkly dresses aplenty? Check. 

There are still plenty of Eras Tour stops to go until August and whether you already have your tickets or have a masterminded plan to acquire them, here's all the style inspiration and advice you need for your tour outfits, straight from Swifties themselves.

Taylor's debut might not be represented much during the Eras Tour, but you can still be inspired by Taylor Swift's cowboy boot-wearing origins. For my opening night look, I recreated Taylor's first-ever red carpet outfit from the Academy of Country Music Awards: long curly hair, a handkerchief dress (mine is from Amazon ), and cowboy boots (snagged mine from Zappos, the brand Laredo .)

If handkerchief dresses aren't your thing, there's plenty of other inspiration to be found in Taylor's early years. She wore lots of white and cream colors, knee-length dresses, peasant skirts , and dramatic feminine silhouettes — and of course, some sparkles . For a more casual vibe, recreate some looks from the “Tim McGraw” music video: loose low-rise jeans, lacy tank tops, and mid-2000s style vibes galore. 

Fearless Era

The Fearless style era is usually remembered in one word: glitter. At Taylor's first stop in Glendale, the Fearless girls were out in full force in their sparkly, eye-catching silver and gold dresses, many in the fringe flapper style Taylor loved in the late 2000s.

The other subset of the Fearless era? Romantic, flowing gowns reminiscent of the “Love Story” music video and similar looks from the timing. Taylor loves a Shakespearean homage, and if you have any Renaissance fair-esque dresses or old theatre costumes in your closet, this is the time to bring those out.

Of the many memorable Speak Now -inspired outfits in Swift City, one reigned supreme: this purple mid-length halter dress with sweetheart neckline and updo from the Speak Now tour reigned supreme — just don't forget the blue “13” drawn on her right hand.

“I bought this in May of last year from Mislish , because I love Speak Now more than anything in this lifetime,” 25-year-old Shan says. (Her favorite Taylor song of all time is “Mine.") Shan attended the show with friends she met on Twitter through a Black Swifties group in 2018. “There's about eight of us tonight," she says, including her friend Day, who is decked out in pure 1989 vibes.

Don't limit yourself to tour or performance looks, however; Speak Now is one of the first eras where we get more Taylor street style, since her star was majorly on the rise. She gravitated toward more bohemian ‘fits in this era, as well as Victorian detailing. Oh, and we can’t forget the beanies.

The Red era is a great era to choose for a tour costume, as you can go either old or new Taylor and easily find comfortable outfits.

“My outfit is definitely inspired by the ‘All Too Well 10-Minute Version’ music video, I'm wearing Sadie Sink's outfit,” says Van, who attended the show with evermore fan Kathy (see below for Kathy's “Willow”-inspired costume.) Van is dressed in pure comfort food — previously owned jeans, white sneakers, a brown argyle sweater, and the iconic red scarf — an ideal look for standing for nearly three-plus hours straight. “The red scarf is from my brother's wardrobe.”

Spotted elsewhere in Swift City? Endless “Not a Lot Going on at the Moment” t-shirts, which proved prophetic for Taylor's “22” performance outfit — another easy DIY moment. 

Her street style from this era is also fairly simple to replicate: go preppy or go home. Think tailored separates, lace-striped Parisian sweaters, fitted blouses, cardigans, sundresses, and Oxfords. Oh, and don't forget your red lip.

Day (pictured above in the Speak Now Era) pulled her 1989 -inspired look straight from the 1989 World Tour stage: black crop top, purple skirt, jacket, and white sunglasses. (And a red lipstick, since by 1989 it was a Taylor signature piece.) She wasn't the only fan to pull from Taylor's pop music takeover era at the Glendale show — I saw numerous recreations of Taylor's bob and separates Grammy look, as well as her white crop top and shorts look from the tour.

1989 signified a more daring style shift for Taylor, so don't be afraid to do the same with your looks. Lean into all the crop tops you can find, in bold colorways, shimmering neons, and floral patterns. Reputation Era

This era is for your most dramatic friend: let that brewing darkness out, baby. This one's for the people who only wear black, who consider fishnet tights a staple item, and who would willingly carry around a large stuffed animal snake at a festival.

People like… 24-year-old Alli, who lives in Salt Lake City. “I love reputation. I feel like when reputation came out, it was Taylor's angsty era, but also in my real life, I was in an angsty era," she says, a yellow stuffed animal snake around her neck. "Our worlds were colliding in a way that felt so personal to me. Reputation has made such a mark on my life.” Her black jumpsuit is from Amazon, with white paint and bedazzled gems DIY'd with her own name.

You can also go for a more toned-down look, as 19-year-old best friends Shanti and Finley did. They both wore skinny black jeans and matching newspaper print shirts — an allusion to the rumor mill that plagued Taylor before reputation dropped — and thrifted mesh and black leather accents. Top it off with a smokey eye, and you're set.

The Lover Era is all about pastels, happiness, hair dye, glittery hearts, and everything good in the world. Think daylight, think tie-dye sweaters, think falling in love. This is Taylor at some of her most adventurous and playful — dress accordingly.

For example, New Jersey natives Katherine, 28, and Anna, 27, dressed as Taylor and Katy Perry's hamburger and fries from the “We went to the mall in search of ‘Mirrorball’ or Lover -esque things, and we're like, you know what, we want to go big or go home," Anna says. "And we had Lover Fest tickets, and we were really heartbroken. What is something nobody else will do to make us really stand out? ” Katherine adds, “We did a quick search of her music video, and we were like, ‘what if we just did it?'" Big points for originality.

Phoenix, Arizona, 20-something friends Kaylee and Chloe also had Lover Fest tickets and decided to mourn their loss by wearing complementary “ME!” pastel power suits from Nasty Gal. “We've been planning it for a long time,” they say. “We wanted to embody the Lover era because we didn't get to fully enjoy it.”

Siblings Pim, 23, and Poon, 21, didn't coordinate their Eras Tour look intentionally — but clearly, they share a brain. The pair wore complementary cream accented looks, looking like the chicest folklore reference. “I wanted to go for a ‘Cardigan’ music video vibe,” says Pim, who lives in New York City. She wore a sweater over a thrifted slip dress, with matching hair accessories and platform docs. Poon, who wore a creamy jacket and trousers with sneakers, laughs, “I was just going for a monochromatic moment, a little folklore -esque.” Muted colors and grays are perfect to look like you live inside the folklore filter.

Ah, the Midnights era, a fashion goldmine especially given the resurgence in '70s trends more broadly. You could likely build a Midnights album outfit from items you have around the house; simply grab some flared corduroys and a sweater visit.

Friends Dylan, 23, and Luther, 23, decided to go as “Anti-Hero” Taylors. “Dylan's favorite song on Midnights is ‘Anti-Hero,’ and we wanted to do a duo outfit,” Luther says, wearing shorts and boots from Etsy. “It's a good Taylor/bad Taylor opposites vibe.”

If you're still hell-bent on sparkles, the Midnights era is full of them — just pull a Julien Calloway and pick up the Oscar de la Renta cutout dress Taylor wore to the VMAs. But there's also a big fur coat motif, and I saw several outfits referencing her VMAs afterparty look: a blue starry Moschino minidress with a white coat. Key colors: dark blue, white, silver, and lavender. This era is all about luxe fabrics and rich color schemes. The mood is wealth and not giving a f*ck.

If you're still stumped, try mixing and matching various eras in the ultimate chaotic homage to Taylor's style. Many Eras Tour attendees wore gold bodysuits layered with white button-downs in reference to Taylor's Lover-era AMAs performance, which also featured her album names in stark black font.

These two friends — both named Marissa — traveled from North Carolina to Glendale for the show, and Marissa's (left) grandmother helped her make a dress that compiles several of all the Taylor eras and even uses Taylor's 1989 polaroids as a band around her waist. “There's a base dress underneath from Girl Tribe in North Carolina,” she says, “and then my grandmother created the top layer by layer.”

Whichever era you choose, keep in mind your comfort level — take it from someone who stood in her sock feet for two and a half hours, cowboy boots tucked under her seat.

Swifties who actually managed to score tickets are going all out with their Eras tour looks.

J asmine and Karla Ramirez are not real ballerinas, but they showed up to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, last weekend wearing full tutus, tights, and crowns.

“We wanted to go all out,” the sisters explained after detailing how they diligently recreated the look from Taylor Swift ’s “Shake It Off” music video. “We just want to show Taylor how much we appreciate her after all these years. We want to show up for her the way she’s always shown up for us.”

Swift’s Eras Tour kicked off just three weeks ago, but many Swifties have spent months designing and coordinating their outfits for these shows—long before the Ticketmaster disaster threw them into both the emotional and financial trenches. A longtime Swift fan myself, I’ve spent most of my waking hours these past few weeks on TikTok admiring other fans’ outfit reveals (in clips often set to AI-generated audio of Swift exclaiming, “Oh my God, your Eras Tour outfit looks SO fucking good!”), and I’ve spent [redacted] dollars on hauls on my own ensembles.

The conditions that led up to this tour were ripe for spawning this newfound craze among Swifties to prioritize and painstakingly plan their Eras Tour fashion. There was the pandemic that kept us home and left us largely resigned to a wardrobe of loungewear; five years and the release of four new albums since Swift’s last tour; and the rise of TikTok in documenting the concert-going experience (and, for some, stirring up competition and anxiety among fans who want to one-up others).

And then there’s the entire concept of the tour itself: Eras takes the crowd on a non-chronological tour through Swift’s career, from her country roots to pop idol stardom to folk storyteller, and everything in between. That’s reflected onstage, too—Swift’s own outfits change with the passing of each era over the course of the three-plus-hour show. It begs the question: If she’s going to commit to multiple costume changes every night, why shouldn’t fans put as much thought into their own looks?

Many Swifties on TikTok have referred to the tour as their personal Met Gala, Vogue ’s annual themed, high-fashion soiree (where, fittingly, Swift is rumored to have met her longtime partner Joe Alywn back in 2016). Some have used the opportunity to cosplay as Swift herself, recreating everything from her previous tour costumes to more hilariously niche looks, like Swift recovering from LASIK surgery in post-op goggles or receiving her honorary NYU doctorate degree in a cap and gown—the kinds of outfits only true fans would even be able to appreciate. One fan and her mom went to a Las Vegas show dressed as literal Easter eggs to celebrate Swift’s longtime practice of embedding secret messages into her performances, social media posts, and outfits.

Others have chosen ensembles inspired by different albums rather than recreating specific looks, like wearing snake imagery to represent Reputation , or pink frilly tulle for Lover . Even Selena Gomez and her younger sister played dress-up at one of Swift’s Arlington stops, with Gomez styling her hair into two loose buns and wearing an oversized cardigan, in tribute to Swift’s Folklore era, and her sister wearing a dress identical to one Swift wore on her Speak Now World Tour more than 10 years ago.

“When you think about what to wear to celebrate 10 albums, you have so many options,” says DaNae Couch, who wore a pink glittery blazer covered in champagne bottle patches alongside a cowboy hat and boots. “Everyone might have a different album, song, or era, but Taylor is the invisible string who ties us together.”

Fans who aren’t recreating specific looks or channeling certain eras are otherwise leaning into what has developed into an unspoken rule: If you’re at the Eras Tour, you’re wearing sequins or fringe in some shape, way, or form. It’s a phenomenon similar to what was seen at Harry Styles concerts over the past year. Droves of fans showed up to his Love on Tour dates channeling a retro ’70s vibe and donning feather boas that often left venues looking like Big Bird had been viciously murdered there.

While concert fashion was once distinguished mainly by artist merchandise, the trend has shifted to the kind of curated concert looks long associated with festivals like Coachella. Part of that may be attributed to COVID-induced weariness, as fans now have a newfound appreciation for concerts and want to dress accordingly. Goodbye, jeans and tees; hello, extravagant, eye-catching ensembles that celebrate the thrill of being out of the house and seeing your favorite artist live.

Fans of both Swift and Styles, like McKinley Anderson, have seen the fashion evolution of marquee pop tours firsthand.

“Everyone was cramped in their house for so long that Harry’s tour was finally something to look forward to,” she says. “There was so much time for planning and creating, which led to some really fun and unique outfits throughout that tour. And since the Taylor fandom and Harry fandom are so interconnected, this mindset bled over to Eras.”

McKinley, who wore a white flowy dress and blue butterflies in her hair as an ode to Swift’s debut album, also recognizes the role that social media has played in the trend.

“You want to prove to everyone that you were there, you had fun, and you looked good while doing it—there’s a bigger emphasis on getting the perfect shot to capture the night,” she said. “Maybe it’s a subconscious attitude because the pandemic took away over two years of everyone’s lives and we’re scared it could happen again.”

And even the fans who opt for comfort over extravagance aren’t immune to the apparent prerequisite that Eras Tour looks must be attention-grabbing in some way. At night two of the Arlington shows, among the sea of sequins and glitter, I ran into a fan wearing a tie-dye T-shirt that I can only describe as cursed. The back of the shirt featured an image of Swift in the critically destroyed movie adaptation of Cats , while the front had a long block of text defending the corny Lover single “ME!,” a song that many fans were endlessly relieved to see Swift had left off this tour’s setlist.

“I support her in everything she does,” the tie-dye wearing fan explained to me. “I hope to God she plays ‘ME!’ tonight.”

Taylor Swift's brand new "The Eras" tour will be hitting stadiums in 2023 - here's exactly what to wear to the concert.

Taylor Swift's "The Eras" tour is kicking off in March 2023, and lucky concert-goers are already trying to figure out the perfect outfit to wear to honor one of Taylor's many musical eras.

"The Eras" U.S. tour will begin on March 17, 2023 and end on August 9th, 2023 . When tour starts it will have been around 5 years and 4 new albums (not including the re-recordings of her original songs) since Taylor's last tour, Reputation. That means there's lots of material to include, so Taylor's decision to dedicate a tour to all of her musical eras seems like a great idea! It's probably one of the many reasons the tour has completely sold out!

Taylor Swift's eras are generally distinguished by each of her 10 studio albums:

• Taylor Swift (Debut)

"The Eras" tour will feature all of Taylor's musical eras. So far, she has released 10 studio albums (and 2 re-records of previous albums). She even announced the release of Speak Now (Taylor's Version) at one of her recent shows!

My sister, mom, and I have been Taylor Swift fans for a really long time. I remember when she very first started gaining traction, she came to my small town and performed Tim McGraw at our Christmas tree lighting. As a matter of fact, she was so new to the scene that we all were initially bummed because we thought the winner of American Idol was coming to town - Taylor Hicks! How funny.

It's been a crazy journey watching her grow. I remember when my sister and I would listen to her debut album in our CD player over and over. And Our Song being played at our middle school dance. And blasting Red in the car on the way to high school every day. And having 1989 as the soundtrack to my freshman year of college. And so on and so on!

So after being fans for so many years you would think we would have been to one of her many tours. Well, the truth is, we just never were able to make it/get tickets/etc. Life got in the way. So when she announced her "The Eras" tour, it only seemed appropriate we go to make up for all those years before - and try to get tickets to one of the hardest shows ever to get tickets for - one of the most coveted events of next year. Yikes.

Cut to all three of us desperately trying to get tickets on pre-sale day. No luck after waiting all day in queue. We decided to give it one more go during the Capital One pre-sale. All three of us logged in again and our mom somehow got through! We got our 3 tickets and got out of there! It was seriously all luck.

We are all super excited to go to the concert, and we know how lucky we are to be able to go. We want to go all out when it comes to our outfits because this is a once-in-a-lifetime thing! For those of you who didn't get tickets, believe me, we were almost there too. If you can't make it, throw your own concert party and have everyone dress up as a different Taylor Swift era. That's what we would do for sure.

Let's talk about Taylor's eras.

Taylor's debut album, "Taylor Swift" has smash hits like Teardrops on My Guitar, Tim McGraw, and Our Song. It has strong country influence and lyrical themes like adolescent love and relationships. Debut is a super nostalgic era for many, as it was the very beginning of Taylor Swift's musical journey. In this era, Taylor wore her hair in her natural curls, dresses, and cowgirl boots a lot.

This is probably one of her most "country" albums as Taylor eventually started to gain more pop influence in her songs over the years. Debut would be a great era to represent at "The Eras" tour because it's an iconic throwback - you'll be paying homage to the album that started it all.

2. Fearless

Taylor's next album was Fearless, and it came out in 2008. It was similar to Debut in that it was a country album, but there was definitely some more pop influence. This album had songs like You Belong With Me, Fearless, and Love Story. It continued to explore young hopes and dreams as well as love.

I like to think of the Fearless era as more strong and confident than Debut. It's sort of like Debut but with more glitter. The Fearless Tour covered both Taylor's Fearless and Debut albums, so a lot of the tour had one overarching theme. That's why Fearless and Debut are often seen as related.

The tone of the album is also very much influenced by fairytales and romance.

3. Speak Now

Speak Now was Taylor's third studio album. It was released in 2010, following the large success of Fearless. It explored more mature themes of heartbreak, confusion, and reflecting on past loves. The album was inspired by all the things unsaid in her past relationships.

Speak Now also touched on some of Taylor's experiences in the spotlight as well as relationships with celebrities she was reported to have been dating at the time.

This era is a mix of the enchanted themes of Fearless and a more grown-up attitude. It has a lot of Taylor's original heartfelt storytelling with a little bit of a defined edge.

Taylor's song Mean was super relatable for anyone who has ever felt that they didn't fit in or were being made fun of. Her music video look is definitely recognizable with her white peasant dress, mary janes, red lipstick, and big banjo! The Red album was released in October of 2012. It features songs like All Too Well, Red, We Are Never Getting Back Together, and I Knew You Were Trouble. The album focuses on unhealthy relationships, true heartbreak, and growing up.

This era is often associated with fall as a lot of the imagery in the songs along with the album being released in the fall makes listeners feel like playing the album in autumn. It is also regarded as Taylor's heartbreak era because the songs about the end of relationships are particularly powerful on this album.

1989 is Taylor Swift's fifth studio album. It was released in late October 2014 and is generally considered a full foray into pop music. 1989 had songs like Blank Space, Bad Blood, and Shake It Off. It was a commercial success and was followed by the 1989 World Tour.

The 1989 era is very much influenced by a lighthearted pop feeling. The songs were more tongue-in-cheek which was a huge departure from the heartfelt Red.

On tour, Taylor wore a bedazzled white crop top set with matching shorts. It was paired with thigh-high black boots and Taylor's signature red lip.

6. Reputation

Reputation was released in 2017. It was a direct response to public scrutiny and speculation about Taylor Swift's life over the years. The music and imagery was a lot darker with snakes and other villain-like motifs.

This era is generally regarded as Taylor's "villain" era. In many songs she expresses her feelings about being judged and scrutinized endlessly by the media as well as learning to be unapologetic about one's life and actions.

Lover is Taylor Swift's 7th studio album. It featured songs like Lover, You Need To Calm Down, Me!, and The Man. The album was a departure from the darker themes of Reputation.

The Lover aesthetic is largely rainbow-colored/pastel with hearts imagery. It is a lot lighter than Reputation in both coloring and theme.

8. Folklore

Folklore was surprise released in 2020. After the tour for her Lover album was canceled, she released the album with no prior promotion. She explored various characters and stories in the songs on Folklore and allowed herself to be creative lyrically without pressure to change any words for radio playability.

This era is generally regarded as her "cottagecore" era. The imagery is very natural and woodsy.

One of the songs that many Swifties relate to on the album is Mirrorball. This would be the perfect sparkly outfit to wear to the concert!

9. Evermore

Evermore was released in December 2020. Folklore and Evermore are considered sister albums for their similar aesthetic and style as well as how closely in time they were released.

Evermore is also regarded as an extension of Folklore. Taylor continued to explore the challenges and triumphs of fictional characters, which earned her the approval of many critics and listeners alike.

Gold Rush is a song on the Evermore album. I think it would be really cool to wear all gold to pay homage to the song.

10. Midnights

Midnights was Taylor's most recent release. It has received widespread acclaim by critics and broken many World Records for 2022 in terms of sales and streaming.

Midnights has a darker, pop feel to it. It explores the topic of self hatred, anxiety, and insecurity, but also hope, love, and longing. The imagery is largely dark blue and some of the promo shots even have a slight 70s feel to them.

Bejeweled is a popular song on the Midnights album - and it's super easy to wear something sparkly that will be instantly recognized for this reference.

Ed Sheeran joins Taylor Swift at Wembley Stadium: Follow live updates from London

LONDON — Welcome to the live blog for the Eras Tour in London!

Taylor Swift returns to the stage for the final stop on the European leg of the Eras Tour after a suspected terror plot was thwarted in Vienna. Security measures are tight at Wembley Stadium. Fans with floor tickets were not allowed to camp overnight in the hopes of getting a spot closer to the stage, and Swifties can no longer "Taylor-gate" outside of the stadium if they don't have tickets.

As the Taylor Swift reporter for the USA TODAY Network, I’ll be your host for the evening keeping you updated on all the happenings from inside Wembley Stadium. Since taking the Taylor Swift reporter job in November, I’ve watched the show 69 times in person or on grainy livestreams (equivalent to 230 hours or nine and a half days). Follow along for updates as we go on a little adventure spanning 18 years of music.

Confetti falls to the floor

And that’s a wrap on Thursday night in Wembley. Swift has four more shows in London. “The Alchemy” is ushering fans out as cleanups begin. Many fans are scurrying to pick up colorful confetti representing Swift’s various eras.

During year one, the background song was “You’re On Your Own Kid” from “Midnights.”

We are in the final song of the night.

Swift wore the glistening sky-blue T-shirt during “Anti-Hero,” the dark blue one-piece during "Midnight Rain" and is now grooving in the magenta fur coat to wrap up night one in Wembley Stadium.

She has sang "Karma (Travis' Version)" 13 times for the 13 shows he's attended as her boyfriend where she swaps out "Karma is the guy on the screen" with "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs." And while she will sing the former tonight, the audience will most likely scream the latter.

Ed Sheeran joins Eras Tour stage

Swift welcomed special guest Ed Sheeran to join her onstage for a mashup of their songs "Everything Has Changed" and "End Game" on acoustic guitar. The British singer-songwriter appeared on the original album recordings of the songs that appeared on "Red (Taylor's Version)" and "Reputation," respectively.

For the surprise set, the singer had something up her sleeveless blue dress. She began strumming her guitar singing “Everything Has Changed” from “Red (Taylor’s Version).”

The audience gasped. Some Swifties whispered, “Is Ed here?”

The song is a duet between Swift and her longtime friend Ed Sheeran.

“I just feel like something’s missing,” Swift said, and the decibel level in the stadium rocketed off the charts. “Good thing Ed Sheeran is here.”

He appeared on the center platform.

After harmonizing, the two mashed in “End Game,” another duet they sing on Swift’s sixth album “Reputation.” They finished with Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.”

The crowd belted the song.

As they both strummed at the end, they gave each other a big hug and raised their guitars in the air. Swift kissed the top of Ed Sheeran’s head and then ruffled his red locks.

“This is my best friend, he is like a second brother to me,” Swift said, mentioning Sheeran is on tour and probably tired. She asked the crowd to make some noise and the noise felt like it might break the sound barrier.

The shock that surged through the stadium with Ed Sheeran as a surprise guest couldn’t be matched but Swift delivered a sweet mashup on the piano between “King of My Heart” from “Reputation” and “The Alchemy” from “The Tortured Poets Department.” The watches glowed bright green.Where’s the trophy? That was an epic surprise set for night one in Wembley!

Here comes the 'Tayoomba'

She was tame, she was gentle. But now Swift is on the Roomba-esque machine. The maddening and shiny contraption allows her to belt high notes while chasing her dancers.

During the last few shows in Germany and Warsaw, Poland, Swift added a shriek after the second-to-last line, "So who's afraid of little old me?" She did it again in London on Thursday.

A cool effect that always gets fans excited is the final filtered shot on the back screen where Swift looks like a dead-eyed glowing soul. She always tilts her head to the side. She told Post Malone in her "Fortnight" behind-the-scenes video, "Nothing says crazy like a slight tilt to the head."

Wembley screams 'LON-DON' during 'Blank Space' chant

When Swift performed "Blank Space," one of her most famous songs and one of Travis Kelce's favorites, the crowd played its part. Between lines of the bridge, stadiums shout the names of their city while Swift sings, "Boys only want love if it's torture." This ritual started during Swift's stint in Sydney, Australia, because of the 1989 World Tour movie shot there in 2015. During the song, Swift grabbed an iron golf club and struck a metal pole sticking out of the stage: boom, boom. She paused and did it again: boom, boom. But this time sang "Syd-ney." Wait for the signal and I'll meet you after dawn

The lightning in the stadium sounded and Swift sauntered to meet her dancers dressed in green cloaks at the back of the stage. Holding glass, light-up orbs they recited the "Willow" chant. This is when fans blow up balloons and use cell phone lights to make them glow.

The Wembley Stadium listed balloons as one of the items not allowed inside, but a few hundred fans made orbs anyway.

Wembley gives Swift 3-minute standing ovation

When she pulled her inner ears out after "Champagne Problems," the audience lost it. She smiled and clutched her hands to her chest.

“If any of us — me, the dancers or the band — have a bad day again, we are going to replay that little memory in our minds,” she said to the crowd. 

Swift gets emotional during 'Folkmore' era

After finishing "Cardigan," Swift addressed the crowd.

"I just have to be honest with you guys now that I’ve calmed down a little bit," she said. "The first time I saw this crowd when I came out from backstage ... my whole mind went blank."

She described the feeling as a "love system overload."

"I can't believe that 92,000 people are being this loving and caring and generous to us all at once," she said. "It's just wonderful what you do for us. ... All of us are going to miss it so much when we don't get to do it anymore. Feelings and emotions that I didn’t think about before talking about in front of 92,000 people."

If not for the rerecording of her fourth era, Swifties may have never heard “All Too Well (10-Minute Version).” The singer stated in an interview that the original song had been edited down to five minutes. Fans implored her to release the lengthier version and she did as a vault song to “Red (Taylor’s Version).” The song skyrocketed on the charts, unseating “American Pie” by Don McLean as the longest No. 1 hit in Billboard’s Hot 100 chart history.

“We were lucky enough to play Wembley stadium back in June, were any of you there?” she asked Thursday to get a loud cheer response. “Thanks for coming back, you guys.”She asks if anyone is new. An even louder roar erupts.

Swift has performed the 10 minute and 13 second song 127 times. In total, that’s 1,298 minutes or 22 hours. At the end, white confetti will fall to the ground to represent snow referenced in the heartbreak anthem.

A fan-favorite for livestreamers is to log on and see what dancer Kameron Saunders is going to say during the bridge of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together."

When Swift performed 53 shows across America, he said “Like Ever” as a response to Swift saying, “So he calls me up and he’s like, ‘I still love you,' and I mean this is exhausting, like we are never getting back together.” But for her international shows he mixed up the expression catering it to the culture and language of each international city.

The coveted '22' hat

Taylor Swift emerged for her “Red” era in her "A Lot Going On at the Moment" shirt. Swift has six custom-made shirts including: “We are never getting back together like ever,” “Who’s Taylor Swift anyway? Ew,” “This is not Taylor’s Version,” “I bet you think about me” and “I knew U were trouble.”

Different than her other tours, there are no meet-and-greets or secret fan rooms, so the closest a mere mortal can get to the superstar is being the one chosen as the “22" hat recipient. Swift’s team makes the selection moments before the concert begins and usually invites that person to the VIP tent area. At the conclusion of the “Fearless” era, her team will bring the lucky fan down to the end of the catwalk.

Swift autographs the brim of the black fedora designed by milliner Gladys Tamez. 

“I’ve been like so, so humble and so grateful to do this,” Tamez said in April, “because I’ve worked with her team for a long time and then to have this moment, I was excited.”

Tonight Swift has chosen the 127th member of the exclusive "22" fedora club .

Idris Elba attends Eras Tour

Actor Idris Elba attended Thursday's show. It's only appropriate since he iconically introduced "London Boy" on the "Lover" album. Before the beat drops he says, "We can go drivin' in, on my scooter / Uh, you know, just 'round London."

During Swift's June residency at Wembley, an abundance of A listers attended including Prince William and two of his children,  Sir Paul McCartney,  Jon Bon Jovi, Hugh Grant, Cate Blanchett, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce, Kylie Kelce and Swift's parents Scott and Andrea.

The last European shows of the Eras Tour

"What an absolute honor and what a delight and a thrill it is to say these words to you: London, welcome to the Eras Tour!" Swift told Wembley Stadium. “I stand here on this stage knowing that I’m about to play the first show of the last stop of the European leg of the Eras Tour, and the way that you’ve chosen to welcome us, 92,000 of you and screaming the words. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.” 

Swift thanked her opening acts, starting with Sofia Isella.

“It’s crazy to me that it’s coming to an end,” Swift says of touring Europe with her opening act Paramore. 

The show begins

Oh hi! Taylor Swift returns to the stage to perform her “Lover set.” This is the singer’s first appearance since her team canceled three shows in Vienna because of a thwarted terrorist plot. She glimmers in her blue and pink bodysuit.

The 34-year-old has five “Lover” bodysuit variations: tangerine, gold and blue, purple, pink, and blue and pink.

“Well fancy meeting you here at Wembley Stadium," she says, pointing to the restricted view section and tracing the arena. The 92,000 fans let out an ear-shattering roar.“OK well that was amazing. I’m really feeling like immediately that has gone to my head. You’ve got me feeling really, really powerful," she says as she puts on a silver jacket before singing "The Man."

Cue the Eras Tour overture

The backdrop screen to the Eras Tour just shifted to a countdown clock starting at 2:24. Leslie Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me” fills the stadium.

When the tour first started in March of 2023, fans were surprised Swift began her set with “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince,” but the opener makes sense due to the lines “it’s been a long time coming” and “it’s you and me, that’s my whole world." Because of the coronavirus pandemic, Swift had to cancel her Loverfest stadium show in 2021 and hadn’t toured since the Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018. 

After her first football stadium concert series and before the start of the Eras Tour, she released four new eras: “Lover,” “Folklore,” “Evermore” and “Midnights.” For the Eras Tour, she combined her 10 eras into a three-plus-hour show.

When Swift released “The Tortured Poets Department” in April — under the veil of secrecy — she and her dancers flew a little over a week early to Paris to rehearse an updated show. The crowd lost it when they saw the new version on May 9.

Standby: We're 'In Ha Mood'

The Ice Spice beat dropped. Swifties are trained to run back from the bathroom or concession stands as soon as they hear "In Ha Mood" begin playing. It means Taylor Swift will appear in about 10 minutes. 

The dancers and band will make their way to the stage. Taylor Swift is hidden in a “cleaning cart” at the end of the cast walking up the ramp. Her cart is being pushed by production workers who will stop the cart right before a set of stairs that take Swift to the main platform. 

“Applause” by Lady Gaga will play next. As the song blares across an anxious and excited audience, dancers will put pink and ombre parachute flaps on their backs and line up behind the main stage door.

The rousing opening act energized Wembley as Williams lay on the ground in the center spotlight and belted the end of “Ain’t It Fun.” London was overcast, with the open-roofed arena sitting at 73 degrees. The floor was packed with every inch covered by Swifties and the rest of the stadium filled to 60%. Swift will take the stage in about 30 minutes.

'Ain't it fun' that Paramore is here?

Hayley Williams, Taylor York and Zac Farro have been the opening act for Taylor Swift on the European leg of the  Eras Tour . The trio have dazzled for 43 shows across Europe. They will wrap their involvement on Tuesday and make their way back to Nashville, Tennessee, where they're based.

Right before leaving for Paris in May, Paramore was dubbed the Global Ambassadors for Record Store Day, a title Swift held in 2022. They surprised fans at Grimey's record store in Nashville.

Swift's final opening act for the remaining North America shows will be Gracie Abrams.

Is Travis Kelce coming back to Eras Tour?

It's not likely Swift's boyfriend will be at the shows in England. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has his final training camp practice on Thursday before the Chiefs' preseason home game on Saturday against the Detroit Lions. Although Swift could make the following preseason home game on Aug. 22 as the Chiefs take on the Chicago Bears.

Who could forget Travis Kelce breaking the internet the last time Swift performed in Wembley by appearing on stage to carry her after her symbolic crash to the ground from "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived." He attempted to revive her alongside backup dancers Jan Ravnik and Kameron Saunders so she could sing, "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart."

Sofia Isella set list

“This is the most insane view I’ve ever seen in my entire life,” opening act Sofia Isella told Wembley Stadium.

Her set list included:

• “Everybody Supports Women”
• “Unattractive”
• “I Looked the Future in the Eyes, It's Mine”

Similar to inviting three artists to open before Paramore in June, Swift has invited five singers to share the stage in Wembley Stadium. Up first is Sofia Isella , a 19-year-old classically trained violinist, songwriter, producer and singer. The rising star was born in Beverly Hills, California, but lives in Australia.

When Swift let the cat out of the bag on Aug. 5, Isella shared a message on Instagram: "Someone I’ve never met has changed my life even more than she already has just through her writing alone. Your fearlessness in continuing to push yourself and win again and again is the most joyful thing to watch, Taylor. Thank you."

The acts that will open the rest of the Wembley dates are:

Doors are open

It's official. Wembley Stadium has just opened the doors to allow VIP guests into the arena. The general admission sections will open in about thirty minutes. Thousands of Swifties are pouring in.

Lining up at 4 a.m.

Amy Willow of Brighton, United Kingdom, rode up on the overnight train with her two best friends hoping to get in line for Thursday night's Eras Tour show. The early morning wake up call landing her at Wembley Stadium at 4 a.m. was a good call. She ended up being first in line.

"I was like, 'Oh my God, there's going to be like a queue of a hundred people,'" she says four hours before general admission doors open. "Crickets, literal crickets. There was no one here. It was amazing."

Wembley Stadium tells fans without a ticket: Don't come

The stadium that seats 89,000 fans told anyone without an Eras Tour ticket not to come. Additional ticket checks have been added around the stadium and fans will need to show proof of passes before entering the general vicinity.

Wembley Stadium's website  also implemented stricter security measures including no overnight camping and no  "Taylor-gating,"  where devoted fans without tickets congregate outside of a stadium to listen to the live concert and engage in dancing and friendship bracelet trading. The stadium is not allowing anyone to stand outside any entrance or on the Olympics Steps at the front. Non-ticketholders will be "moved on."

If you plan on attending Taylor Swift’s, The Eras Tour, this post is for you. One of the most fun parts about seeing Taylor Swift live and perform for 3.5 hours, is that the entire audience is also on theme.

I don’t think I’ve ever been to a concert before that was quite like this. Not only was this one of the best concerts I have ever been to, but everyone, and I mean everyone, was dressed up in their favorite Taylor Swift era. Whether you were an OG Swiftie and have been listening since her debut album, or you’re more of a newbie like me who came around in her pop era, 1989, you can dress however you like for this epic concert.

To get you excited for your upcoming Eras Tour experience, here are some great Taylor Swift Eras Tour outfit ideas for each era. From iconic looks from Taylor’s albums, music videos, to tour outfits, these are sure to get you in the mood to sing and dance your heart out for 3.5 hours. Debut Era Outfit Ideas

While The Eras Tour does not cover any songs from Taylor Swift’s self titled album that she released in 2006, you can still represent your favorite album with some of these fun pieces. Tim McGraw, Teardrops On My Guitar and Should’ve Said No are a few favorites from this country album.

Embrace the country vibes and wear fun cowboy boots, and a nod to the teal dress she wore to perform, and butterflies on the album cover.

Fearless Era Outfit Ideas

Released in 2008, Fearless was a country album with a few Taylor classics. Taylor’s Version of Fearless was released in 2021 with vault songs. But a few classics on this album include “Love Story”, “You Belong With Me” and of course, “Fearless”. And my personal favorite is the vault song, Mr. Perfectly Fine.

Her performances from this era are all about the gold fringe, sparkle and cowboy boots. Draw outfit inspiration from the gold fringe, or Love Story and be a Juliet in a love story, and lastly, take a look out of the iconic You Belong With Me music video.

Fearless Era Outfit Fringe Dress

During The Eras Tour for the Fearless era, Taylor is wearing a gold (and now gold and black) fringe tinsel style dress. It’s such a fun almost flapper style dress which is really easy to find for a quick outfit. But wear anything with gold and glitter and you’ll be good to go!

Speak Now Era Outfit Ideas

Speak Now was released in 2010, and Taylor’s Version was released in 2023, and this country album is packed with incredible bops. Hands down my favorite song in her country era. You can’t tell me that’s not the best country bop.

This era is ALL about all things purple. It’s feminine, it’s full of love so lean into the super feminine vibes. Lots of tulle, glitter, and butterflies. This is an easy one to accomplish if you have a great purple dress in your closet you already love to wear. Add some cowboy boots and dance away.

Red Era Outfit Ideas

A few of my favorite songs from the Red Era include “All Too Well” (the 10 minute version obviously), “22” and “I Knew You Were Trouble”. From the vault, a personal favorite of mine is “Message In A Bottle”. For me, this was the album I started to like a few songs that crossed over to more pop in 2012-2013. And Taylor released Red, Taylor’s Version in 2021 along with some amazing vault songs.

And while a red lip is instantly what we think of for Taylor Swift, I think this era requires it for sure. Red lipstick, red nails, this is the RED era after all. PS, here’s some of my favorite red lipsticks that don’t budge.

22 Outfit Idea

The most iconic look of the era may be the graphic tee, black hat and shorts and this is such an easy outfit to put together with things you likely already have on hand. DIY your t-shirt or pick up a fun one on Etsy. Pair with black shorts and loafers.

Ringmaster Outfit Idea

Taylor Swift’s Red tour had a whole ringmaster vibe to it. So you can also lean into this trend with a cool ringmaster jacket paired with sequined shorts or even a pair of your favorite denim jeans.

1989 Era Outfit Ideas

This is the album that turned me into a Taylor Swift fan. I am not into country, so when 1989 came out in 2014, I was hooked as a pop music fan. The electronic pop vibes had me obsessed. There are so many options for 1989 and I love them all!

A few of my favorite songs from the 1989 album include “Blank Space”, “Style”, “Bad Blood”, “Clean”, and all of the vault songs (these may be my favorite songs of hers from her entire discography). She released Taylor’s Version of 1989 in 2023 while on The Eras Tour.

1989 Outfit Ideas

Go more comfy in 1989 graphic concert t-shirts , or a a NYC tee and hat. Add a denim jacket, mini skirt and cute Chucks for a simple and comfortable outfit for enjoying The Eras Tour.

Skater Skirt Outfit Ideas

The skater skirt and bomber jacket is the perfect combination for a 1989 Eras Tour outfit idea. So many fun sequined options to shop too. And you can just style with a Converse for ultra comfort. Taylor has recently upgraded her matching sequined sets on The Eras Tour to reflect a sequined skater skirt which I think is truly a nod back to the 1989 era.

Reputation Era Outfit Ideas

One of my favorite albums from Taylor Swift released in 2017 includes a few favorite songs like “Ready For It?”, “I Did Something Bad”, “Look What You Made Me Do”, and “Dress” (a personal favorite). This album is all about the media scrutiny and the snakes who tried to tear her reputation apart. Snakes are a must for this era along with lots of black, leather and mesh. This era is all about sexy, edgy and black.

And yes, we are all anxiously awaiting for Taylor’s Version of Reputation and I can not wait for it to finally arrive.

Reputation Eras Snake Outfit Idea

This snake bodysuit is so fun and different. I would add a black tube top under it if you are not into how revealing it is. Pair these fun tops with black denim, or black leather shorts or skirts for easy and comfortable outfits. And for shoes, black combat boots work great.

There are also a few fun snake dresses you can shop or dresses that mimic Taylor Swift’s Reputation bodysuit in The Eras Tour. And don’t forget a few fun Reputation eras accessories like snake rings and a choker with a snake on it to mix TTPD and Reputation.

The Reputation Era is also synonymous with this newspaper print. There are a few fun pieces to shop that would be great with what you probably already have in your closet, black shorts or denim, and call it a day. This print is represented on the album and much of her Reputation tour.

One of my favorite albums, Lover was released in 2019 which was her first album she owned fully. Lover is full of beautiful love songs and pop favorites. So much of the Lover era is full of pinks and blues, and lots of rainbow inspired looks with the album cover background. Try wearing a sequined matching set in one of these colors, or just embrace the colors of the album in comfortable pieces like a pink or blue denim set. Don’t forget to add some heart earrings!

The Man Era Outfit Ideas

Sequined blazers are easy to find so why not replicate Taylor Swift’s The Man outfit from The Eras Tour. I especially love this red sequined blazer. Pair with sequined cowboy boots or go more comfortable in a white sneaker .

Folklore and Evermore Era Outfit Ideas

Combining Folklore and Evermore since Taylor Swift recently updated her set list to also combine these two eras. Folklore was released during the pandemic in 2020. And just five months later she casually drops Evermore.

These two albums have more folk, indie vibes to them with a few favorite songs like “Cardigan”, “The 1”, “Champagne Problems” and “August” to name a few from these sister albums.

Embrace the cottagecore vibes of this album and era. Try anything from Free People along with some lace-up boots. The more ruffles and tiers to your dress the better! Try a plaid dress too for something different. And don’t forget a braid in your hair to mimic the cover of Evermore.

Mirrorball And Champagne Problems Era Outfit Idea

Embrace mirrorball and champagne hues with one of these fun pieces for a nod to some of the best songs on these albums. Mostly we see the boho dresses and cottagcore outfits for these two eras, but these could be a fun option to try.

Midnights Era Outfit Ideas

The Midnight’s album may be my favorite Taylor Swift album. Released in 2022, this album is hands down my favorite. From songs like “Lavendar Haze”, “Anti-Hero”, “Bejeweled”, “Karma” and my personal favorite, “Mastermind”. I could go on!

For the Midnight’s Era outfit ideas, go for all the sparkles and sequins in shades of navy or maroon. Opt for star prints, celestial prints and sequins. Lean into purple and navy, or go bejewelled if you will, in metallics. And if you want to maybe manifest a Karma album (because who isn’t), Taylor Swift has been wearing a new orange look so why not rock that color too for this era.

All The Sparkles For Midnights

I think this era is really fun to wear and just choose a fun sparkly item whether it’s a top or bottom, and pair it with your go-to comfy bottoms. That’s basically what I did for my Eras tour outfit. And you can try the tinsel fringe jacket that is available at Nasty Gal here.

Anti-Hero Outfit Idea

Another option for the Midnights Era is to try the anti-hero outfit which reflects the 70’s inspiration of the album cover. Just pair some burnt orange, or brown corduroy flares with a striped retro baby tee. Easy and comfortable!

The Tortured Poets Department Era Outfit Ideas

Hands down the best era of the entire show. The Tortued Poets Department (TTPD) was released in 2024 with a surprise second album to accompany it. Taylor Swift debuted TTPD as the newest era at The Eras Tour at the start of the European leg of the tour in Paris April 2024. This is the show I attended and it was just so damn good. From “Fortnight”, to “Down Bad”, “But Daddy I Love Him”, and hands down my absolute favorite was “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart”, this album is packed with incredible tunes.

Tortured Poets Eras Outfit

Go for a white dress, white booties and a choker to achieve the look she donned at The Grammy’s and also in her TTPD performance. This is also perfect for those spring and summer concerts. And yes, white boots are a great investment, here’s how to style white boots so you’ll get some use out of them beyond the concert.

I Can Do It With A Broken Heart Outfit Idea

Since I went to the Paris shows, I feel like no one was in this look but I bet we’ll see it in upcoming shows. Why not dress like a showgirl or the tailcoat jacket with a sequined set underneath it? It’s a fun way to dress up for what I think is the BEST performance of the entire 3.5 hour show.

What will you be wearing to The Eras Tour? With so many great concert outfits and ideas pulled from album covers, music videos and past tour costumes, the options are endless to make them your own. Most importantly, I recommend going in a comfortable look that you can move, sing and dance in.

I opted for a comfortable sneaker, silky cargo pants , and a sequined bra top to represent my favorite era, Midnights. So you don’t have to go all in head to toe, instead, you can just add a nod in a top, or bottom. This should be a FUN evening so keeping your outfit comfortable I think is key! I hope you enjoy your Taylor Swift concert experience, it’s a memorable one!

Before you head to The Eras Tour which will undoubtedly be the best night of your life, there are a few things to keep in mind. This is to ensure you have the BEST time, and also feel your best.

Wear Comfortable Shoes

Maybe you’re capable of wearing 4 inch heels for 3.5 hours like Taylor, but I am not. I would opt for a comfortable shoe like a sneaker, or low heel. I think many of the outfits work well with comfortable shoes regardless. But you will likely be standing and dancing the entire time along with long wait times to get out of the stadium and back on trains to get home.

Know The Bag Rule

If you haven’t been to a sporting event or concert in a while, bag rules have changed drastically in the last few years. Check your venues bag rules to make sure you are able to bring your bag into the stadium without any issues.

Eat Before You Go

The concert is LONG and usually there is a decent amount of travel time to and from the venue. I recommend eating a decent size meal before you go so you don’t feel the need to buy stadium food and waste your time and money.

Ear Protection

Especially for small children, ear protection is a must. And as I’ve gotten older, I have honestly considered ear protection at concerts. Loop Earplugs are a really cool new type of earplug that reduces noise but still keeps the music crisp and clear.

Love this and ‘Know Before You Go’ is spot on! Stockholm Eras Tour had a zero-bag policy so knowing the bag policy ahead of time was a life-saver because I was able to add biker shorts with pockets to my outfit.

Paramore recreates iconic Freddie Mercury moment at Eras Tour in Wembley

LONDON — Paramore opened Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour on Saturday with an homage to an iconic moment in Wembley Stadium history.

Before the band's final song “This Is Why,” lead singer Hayley Williams had an itch to do something bold.

“I’ve always wanted to try this,” she said before belting “ay-oh.”

The crowd echoed her operatic note knowing it was a nod to Freddie Mercury. The Queen front man captivated Wembley Stadium during a 20-minute Live Aid set in 1985.

The crowd and Williams ping-ponged the held notes of “ay-yo.”

“Oh my f***ing God,” Williams said.

Paramore checks on, congratulates fans

Earlier in the band's set, Williams interrupted a song to check on fans.

“We got to stop,” Williams said a couple of lines into “Only Exception" when she noticed a fan in need of medical attention. “Are you guys all right?”

The sold-out stadium at 70-80% capacity to watch Swift fell silent.

“Sorry, let’s just make sure they’re OK before we start again,” Williams said as the hush fell over the tens of thousands watching the opening set. “Wow, Wembley Stadium, it’s quiet.”

While paramedics made their way to the fan on the sardines-packed floor, the camera picked up two fans holding up signs reading, “We got married yesterday" and "Still Into You was our first dance."

“Where are you?” Williams asked, seeing the back screen, and said “congrats” after she found them.

While scattered cheers celebrated the newly engaged couple, Williams turned back to the fan in need of help.

“Can you give me a thumbs up if they’re good?” she asked before getting confirmation. “All right, we got a thumbs up.”

A fan was seen being rolled out shortly after by three safety workers in yellow highlighter vests.

Paramore went back into “Only Exception.” The American rock band has two more shows left opening for Taylor Swift in London after following her across Europe since May.
