The Ultimate Twilight Road Trip (Forks Twilight Guide)

First of all, where is forks, washington.

Forks, Washington is located on the Olympic Peninsula , about 4 hours away from Seattle, WA and 4.5 hours away from Portland, OR.

It’s a real town, albeit a small one, with a tight-knit community.

Part of a larger trip? Discover 30+ Things To Do In Washington State with a free 10-Day road trip guide!

People and businesses have REALLY embraced the Twilight fandom, and you can see it evident in nearly every store window with cardboard cutouts of Bella and Edward, special Twilight restaurant menus, and commemorative location signs around town.

Since the Twilight Saga was released, tourism to Forks has tripled and greatly increased revenue for the city. Hey, if it works for you, embrace the fandom!

The town is located in one of the rainiest places in the United States, with 1 10 annual inches per year , compared to an average of 38 inches around the United States. Forks, Washington also has an average of 212 rainy days per year.

We can see why vampires would want to pick a place like the PNW – they are protected from the sun practically all year long!

Where to Stay in Forks, Washington

As you follow this Forks Twilight Guide, you might want to stay in town to really soak it all in. Here are a few places we recommend as accommodations in Forks, Washington:

Pacific Inn Motel: This motel is a great place to crash while going through your Twilight Forks Guide. They even have a Twilight-themed room ! It has red walls, movie posters, and some other vampire-themed decorations. The room is quite popular, so make sure to book well in advance if you want to experience it.

Woodland Inns: This is where we stayed during our self-guided Forks Twilight Tour. These are small and separate cabins all in the same lot. They all have two queen beds, a small fully-stocked kitchen, a table, a bathroom, and a fireplace. We found it extremely comfortable and safe, and loved how close to town it was.

Miller Tree Inn : The Miller Tree BnB has actually been named the official Cullen House ! It looks nothing like the modern structure from the movies, but it’s actually very true to Stephanie Meyer’s description of the real Cullen House in the books.

Any Team Jacob fans out there? The Quileute Oceanside Resort is located in La Push, which is right in the center of the history and culture that defines Jacob and his tribe in the books.

Here, you can experience the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest coastline (First Beach is steps away!) and the thousands of years of indigenous Quileute heritage and history of the area.

A teeny bit farther but still very much in the heart of the moody PNW aesthetic are the Twilight-themed packages from the four unique lodges in Olympic National Park.

Get a third night free at the Lake Quinault Lodge , grab free hot spring passes at Sol Duc Hot Springs , or simply soak in the moody gray skies at Lake Crescent Lodge and their winter cabin rentals.

Where To Eat In Forks, Washington

Twilight Themed Dining Options

After a day of exploring with our Twilight Tour in Forks, here is some Twilight-inspired cuisine to stick to the theme of your trip.

Bella Italia : Bella Italia is located in Port Angeles, Washington. This is where Bella and Edward had their first date, and you can even order the same meal Bella did – mushroom ravioli. You can find this restaurant downtown by the Black Ball Ferry Terminal.

Sully’s Burgers : Sully’s Burgers offers a signature “Bella Burger” but they also serve things like ice cream and pizza. Sit down or park at the drive-in to eat in between stops on your Twilight tour in Forks!

Pacific Pizza : If you’re staying at the Woodland Inns, they are owned by the same people who own Pacific Pizza – which means free delivery! Pacific Pizza is known for its Italian food and pizza. You can ask for their special “Twilight Menu” if you feel like sticking to the theme of the trip.

Twilight Forks Guide TheMandagies.com

Wait, where was Twilight filmed?

Despite the setting of the book being in Forks, Washington, the majority of the Twilight filming locations were actually in Oregon !

They kept all of the Washington names but ended up filming them off location for the most part. Probably because if you didn’t know any better, Fork’s dripping moss trees and perpetual rain easily make it one of the most haunted places in Washington . Perfect for vampires!

The reason? We’re not sure. Berty and I assume that the locations of the book were a little hard to reach with film crews, so they opted for bigger/grander scenes and easier accessibility in Oregon.

Not to worry though, there are still incredible Twilight book location places to check out here in Forks, which we’re sharing below!

Hoh Rainforest, Olympic National Park

Twilight Book Locations (Addresses and Descriptions)

To make this easy, we’re going to put these Twilight book locations in order to help you plan a seamless Twilight road trip .

This route will take you to all the Forks Twilight locations, the actual spots they were based on, and any other cool spots that commemorate this iconic PNW story!

1. Start Your Twilight Driving Tour in Port Angeles

Seattle to Port Angeles: 82 Miles (2.5-Hours) via Downtown Seattle-Bremerton ferry

Port Angeles is where you can stop to eat, and get the experience of walking around the quaint downtown area. Relive what it might have been like for Bella to go prom dress shopping and go on her first date with Edward.

For a Twilight-themed dinner, book a reservation at Bella Italia and try their mushroom ravioli!

Remember when Bella went prom dress shopping with her friends? The actual filming location for the dress shop was a place called Angel’s Hair Salon, located at 251 1st Street in St. Helens, Oregon . To make it look like a dress shop, they just hung dressed near the window!

2. The Treaty Line

Port Angeles to the Treaty Line: 2-hour drive, 62 miles.

On the way into Forks and to La Push Beaches, you’ll drive past the Treaty Line, Located at 7764 La Push Rd, Forks .

This is where the vampires and werewolves agreed that the Cullens will not cross onto their tribal lands . It’s supposedly a treaty that has been intact for centuries.

Tip: It’s located on the side of the road, but please don’t try and park next to it ! The Three Rivers Resort has a parking lot just past it, so park there instead and walk up to the sign from there to snap a picture!

3. Jacob Black’s House

Just past the Treaty Line is Jacob Black’s house, located at 8320 La Push Rd .

It’s right off the road and you can easily miss it if you aren’t looking ! If you choose to stop, please be courteous, as people may be occupying the house.

Rent this place for real if you are interested in sticking to the theme of your Twilight tour in Forks!

4. La Push Beaches (First, Second, and Third)

Just a little over an hour’s drive away from Port Angeles is La Push. “La Push Baby!”

La Push actually consists of three beaches, aptly named First, Second, and Third Beach.

While the Twilight series isn’t specific as to which beach it was, we can guess that it was probably First Beach . First Beach is the most accessible from the La Push and Quileute Reservation.

You can easily drive right up to the shore in an open parking lot, and take a walk along the shore.

Movie Fact: The actual beach they filmed at wasn’t even any of the La Push beaches! It was actually filmed in Indian Beach Oregon, close to Crescent Beach in Ecola State Park .

washington state twilight tour

5. Quileute Community

Stephanie Meyer wrote in the werewolves to reflect significantly on the Pacific Northwest tribe, the Quileute Community, for Jacob Black’s clan.

According to ancient Quileute lore, their creation story includes the community originating from wolves and being changed to humans by a wandering Transformer.

Today, the community is recognized for its fishing abilities, specifically with sea mammals, seals, and fish.

To learn more about the rich history of the Quileute People in this area of Forks, please read more here .

6. Forks Community Hospital (Dr Cullen’s Parking Spot)

Remember Carlisle is a doctor? Well, he’s got a reserved parking spot just for him at the local Forks hospital!

Forks Community Hospital is located at 530 Bogachiel Way, Forks, WA 98331 . The sign is a little bit hard to find at first. Look for it near the administration building on 5th street.

Continuing your Forks Twilight Guide back into town, you can stop by the Forks Community Hospital . Here, you can find a parking sign specifically saved for Dr. Carlisle Cullen.

This is a cheeky way to reference the book, however, this was not the filming location of the hospital! It’s just a tribute to Carlisle and his medical practice. 🙂

7. Forks High School

If I’m being completely honest, Fork High School was probably the most disappointing stop on our Twilight tour in Forks.

The school itself is not disappointing – it’s actually very modern and a state-of-the-art building. But it’s definitely not the historic brick structure that we see in the movies. Quite the opposite! (That’s what I was expecting!)

You can still visit the outside of the school, but keep in mind that it’s a functioning place , with children present during school hours. Don’t be a weirdo and drive around or take photos when kids are outside!

Searching for the high school in the films? Kalama High School is where “Forks High School in the Twilight movies was filmed.

The address is 548 China Garden Rd, Kalama, WA 98625, about a 4-hour drive from Forks near Portland, Oregon)

washington state twilight tour

7. The Swan Residence (Charlie and Bella Swan’s House)

The self-proclaimed Swan Residence from the book series is located at 775 K St, Forks, WA 98331 .

The owners erected a cute sign out in front to honor people’s Twilight tour in Forks, and you can spot an Edward cutout upstairs in the window!

Remember though, this is someone’s real house , so be respectful and just take pictures from the street. DON’T peek in the windows!

Looking for the Swan Residence from the Twilight movies? You can actually rent in on Airbnb in St. Helens, Oregon !

washington state twilight tour

8. Forks Chamber of Commerce (Bella’s Truck)

Address: Forks Visitor Information Center, 1411 S Forks Ave, Forks

The first thing you’ll see when approaching the Forks Chamber of Commerce is not one but TWO red trucks ! These are the ones she drove in both the books and the movies. (Notice the cute “Bella” license plate!)

Generally, the opening hours for the Visitors Center are from 10 am-5 pm daily . They really lean into the Twilight theme (as do a lot of businesses in town) and you can purchase lots of Twilight souvenirs inside.

During your Twilight tour in Forks, the best chance of getting some good photo ops alone is in the mornings. This way, you can avoid the lunchtime crowds!

washington state twilight tour

9. The Cullen House (From the Books)

Address: 654 E Division St, Forks, WA 98331

Another large division between the books and the movies is the location and description of The Cullen Residence.

In the movies, you’ll recognize the Cullen House by its flashy, modern, PNW architecture style. In the Twilight books, however, it’s quite the opposite!

The Cullen House in the books is a 100-year old white farmhouse with tons of character. This particular house (pictured above) matched the description from the books so well, that they proclaimed themselves the “official” Cullen house of Forks.

The owners pay tribute to the books by adding the Cullen name on their mailbox. For guests that come and visit, you can spot Carlilse’s office and the graduation cap artwork from the movies. Sometimes, Esme will leave notes on the board in the lobby, and occasionally the table is set Twilight-themed.

It’s a great stop, and and even better place to stay during your Twilight tour in Forks!

Want to see the Cullen House that was filmed for the movies? It’s a private residence. But you can still drive by and peek from the street.

10. Forks Police Station

The Forks Police station, located at 500 E Division St in Forks is where Charlie Swan would have worked.

They used to have a whole tribute and display to Charlie Swan , but it’s currently gone now. If you’re short on time during our Twilight tour in Forks, this is probably the one to skip.

If you DO visit, keep in mind that this is an actively working police station. In not sure if they would give you any tour or souvenirs if you visit the inside, but’s it’s worth a shot for your hardcore fans out there.

The Hoh Rainforest - Twilight Tour in Forks

11. The Hoh Rainforest

Want to relive those moody scenes of Bella and Edward in the rainforest?

Most of the filming locations were in Oregon, but the true essence of the rain and greenery were inspired by the Hoh Rainforest !

To really immerse yourself, take a walk the iconic Hall of Mosses Trail , an easy 1-mile loop. It’s got stunning views of the dropping moss, green ferns, and smells of the rainforest.

Don’t forget your American The Beautiful Pass – this trail is in the Olympic National Park .

Don’t have a pass? Expect to pay the $30 day entrance fee to enter the park.

12. Forever Twilight

Address: 35 N Forks Ave, Forks, WA

If you want to see costumes, props, and other items from the movies , you have to visit the Forever Twilight Gallery ! It’s a free gallery to come and check out in the Rainforest Art Center.

They set this gallery up for tons of photo ops. The gallery includes a variety of things, like gifts from Italy (From the Volturi!) and Forks-centric items. They even have the animatronic baby used to play Renesmee!

This is a perfect stop for serious Twilight book fans . Want another great Twilight place to check out? Discover Native To Twilight Gifts Shop , located at 10 N Forks Ave, Forks, WA 98331.

16 Walk Through The Hall Of Mosses Trail

For those wanting to pretend they're in the Twilight saga, heading to the Hall of Moses hiking trail is worthwhile. After all, this eerie hiking trail runs along many of the scenery filming locations in the movie and is a .8-mile scenic loop. Walking along this path should be pretty straightforward, as it doesn't include any dangerous terrain or drop-offs. Especially after it rains, this hiking location will feel vampire-worthy, with many Twilight enthusiasts coming here each day to snap a photo (or two).

Just be cautious, however, of actual wildlife, as visibility on the Hall of Moses trail can become difficult as the sun lowers. Try avoiding this hike if it is not during daytime hours.

  • Address : Hoh Valley Rd, Forks, WA 98331

15 Check Out Forks High School

Another way to reminisce about the good old days when Twilight first aired is to check out the city's high school, where scenes of the movie were based. David Thompson High School, Vancouver, BC (aka Forks High School) In New Moon and Eclipse, the Forks High School scenes were shot at David Thompson Secondary School at 1755 East 55th Avenue in Vancouver, so to *technically* see the same high school, one would need to go there. However, the movie was based on Forks High School, drawing many details from everyday life in this foggy town.

  • Address : 261 Spartan Ave, Forks, WA 98331

14 Go On A Twilight Forks Washington Tour

Explore the beaches, rain forests, and other locations mentioned in the book "Twilight" and experience Forks' magic as Bella did. Twilight fans can visit the Chamber of Commerce to take a photo with Bella's trucks, check out the props and costumes from the films, experience Olympic National Park's splendor, and much more with this one-day Twilight-themed tour in Forks, Washington .

  • Ticket Cost: From $265.00 per person
  • Duration: 9 hours (approx.)

13 Enjoy A Delicious Bella Burger

Dining at Sully's Burgers, the restaurant where Bella and her father from the Twilight movie had dinner, is another incredible experience in Forks, Washington. Sully’s Burgers is a famous drive-in restaurant in Forks that also serves pizza, chicken, and ice cream, but a must-try is its Bella Burger, which draws Twilight fans to this amazing restaurant. For a Twilight fan, it's challenging to turn down such an alluring offer.

  • Address: 220 N Forks Ave Forks, WA 98331
  • Opening Hours: Monday - Saturday: 11:00 am - 9:00 pm

12 Try Mushroom Ravioli At Bella Italia

When Bella and Edward went on their first date, they ordered the same mushroom ravioli—now known as Bella’s ravioli—from this restaurant. The La Bella Italia Restaurant is a traditional Italian eatery serving fresh seafood, locally grown organic vegetables, and wines in the heart of Port Angeles. It is among the most popular activities to experience Twilight in Forks, Washington, and also provides a delicious dining experience.

  • Address: 118 East 1st Street, Port Angeles, Washington, United States 98362
  • Opening Hours: Thursday - Sunday: 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Visitors have the opportunity to visit the beaches and rainforest from the books during this festival, as well as hang out with Saga actors, including the Cullen Coven, Jacob Black, the Volturi, and other characters played by the official FTF cast members. Additionally, they can be part of movie showings, panel discussions with the Saga actors, themed parties, events, and much more at Forks High School.

  • When: September
  • Tickets: $550.00 per person

10 Visit Dr. Cullen’s Parking Spot

First up on the list of Twilight -themed things to do in Forks, Washington, is to visit Carlisle Cullen’s parking spot. In the Twilight series, Carlisle Cullen is a well-known doctor in town. To pay tribute to this character, Forks Community Hospital reserved a parking spot for the vampire. In the parking lot, you will find a green sign with white lettering that reads, "Reserved Parking, Dr. Carlisle Cullen." This spot is a great photo-op and a fun way to kick off a self-guided tour of Forks.

  • Address: 530 Bogachiel Way, Forks, WA 98331

9 Stay At Quileute Oceanside Resort

One main plot point of the books (and movies) is Jacob being descended from wolves (and eventually turning into a werewolf). Jacob is a part of the Quileute Tribe, and the real-life creation story of the tribe actually describes a Transformer changing the Quileutes from wolves to people .

A great spot to stay and learn more about Quileute culture is Quileute Oceanside Resort. This resort offers 33 oceanfront cabins, as well as ten camper cabins and a campground.

  • Address: 330 Ocean Front Dr, Quillayute, WA 98350
  • Booking website: Oceanside Resort Reservations

8 Stop By The Treaty Line

On your way into Forks, you must stop and see the Treaty Line. In Twilight , the vampires and werewolves have an agreement that the vampires will not cross over and hunt on Quileute land. This Treaty Line is the marker.

The sign itself states in large black letters, “No Vampires Beyond This Point.” The sign also features a painting of a wolf howling, along with the words “Treaty Line.” Since the sign is located on the side of the road, visitors are advised to park in the Three Rivers Resort parking lot and walk over to the sign.

  • Address: 7764 La Push Rd, Forks, WA 98331

7 Stay In Jacob Black’s House

Did you know that you can actually stay in Jacob Black’s house? This cute red home that inspired Jacob’s house in the Twilight books is actually a vacation rental. It even features a dirt bike resting on the mailbox, similar to the bikes he fixes up with Bella in New Moon .

This picturesque vacation rental is located between two beaches, Rialto and La Push. It is also in a great area for hiking and fishing, and the rental also boasts an outdoor BBQ and fire pit.

  • Address: 8320 La Push Rd, Forks, WA 98331
  • Phone: (360)-640-0238

6 Visit The Cullen House

An interesting Twilight fact is that the super modern home depicted in the Twilight movies is actually the opposite of how Cullen’s house is described in the books. In the books, the Cullen family lives in an old farmhouse with lots of vintage charm. This older home in Forks was the inspiration for the Cullen home and even features a fun nod to the series with a mailbox donning the words “The Cullen House.” This building actually doubles as the Miller Tree Inn Bed and Breakfast, making it the perfect place to stay if you are Team Edward and do not want to spend the night in Jacob Black’s home.

  • Address: 654 E Division St, Forks, WA 98331
  • Phone: (360)-374-6806
  • Amenities: free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, free parking, free breakfast

5 Visit The Swan Residence

Charlie and Bella’s residence is another must-visit Twilight home in Forks. Again, this house won’t look like the one depicted in the movies but is rather the inspiration behind the Swan house in the books.

The current residents leaned into the building’s Twilight history by adding a sign outside the home that reads, “The Swan Home, being remodeled by Esme & Alice Cullen, Built in 1905.” Since this is someone’s actual home, remember to be respectful and enjoy viewing this Twilight landmark from a distance.

  • Address: 775 K St, Forks, WA 98331

4 Explore The Forever Twilight In Forks Collection

This stop is for movie buffs. The Forever Twilight in Forks Collection is a Twilight -themed exhibit at the Rainforest Arts Center featuring various costumes and props used in the filming of Twilight . Visitors can see the screen-worn costumes of Bella, Edward, and Jacob, as well as the infamous Chuckesmee doll.

  • Address: 11 N Forks Ave, Forks, WA 98331
  • Hours: Monday-Thursday 2 pm, Friday-Saturday 2-4 pm (call ahead to double-check)
  • Phone: (360)-374-2531
  • Cost: free, but donations are appreciated

A four-day Twilight festival takes place annually at Forever Twilight, and next year’s festival dates are September 14-17, 2023.

3 Check Out Bella’s Trucks

Head on down to the Forks Chamber of Commerce to view Bella’s trucks. Yes, trucks are plural. One truck is modeled after the car she drove in the books, while the other is based on the truck she drove in the movies. After admiring the vehicles, pop into the visitor center to pick up a self-guided tour map and perhaps purchase a Twilight -themed souvenir.

  • Address: Forks Visitor Information Center, 1411 S Forks Ave, Forks, WA 98331
  • Hours: 10 am-5 pm daily

The “Forks Welcomes You” sign is also in this area, so be sure to snap a picture by the sign before heading to the next Twilight attraction.

2 Visit La Push Beaches

It’s La Push, baby! No Twilight tour is complete without visiting La Push. La Push is actually made up of three beaches, First, Second, and Third Beach. The glistening water and jagged rocks make for stunning scenery. One Yelp user even described La Push Beach as “The most spiritual place I’ve ever been!”

While it is not specified in the Twilight series which beach they are on, many Twilight fans suggest visiting First Beach. This beach is located near the Quileute Reservation and can be accessed by car. Spending time at La Push beaches and nearby Rialto Beach makes for an exciting trip and is one of the best things to do in Washington's Olympic National Park .

A Self-Guided Twilight Tour in Forks, WA

If you’re a fan of Twilight and want to relive your favorite moments from the epic saga, embarking on a self-guided Twilight tour in Forks, WA is the best way to experience it.

The City of Forks Welcomes you sign.

When Twilight premiered in 2008, I was immediately hooked. After the first movie was released, I quickly devoured the book series and became obsessed with all things Twilight. The books, the movies, the merchandise, and all of Washington. I dreamed of seeing Forks and wandering through a green forest with a sparkly vampire. It was a difficult time in my young adult life, and I'm forever grateful for the story that helped get me through that period. Eventually, the Twilight craze died down, but I still hoped to one day visit the places in the series that had brought me so much joy for years.

Finally, in the summer of 2022, I decided to make that dream a reality. As part of a larger Washington trip after hiking in Mt. Rainier NP , I would then visit all the places I’d read and re-read about on the Olympic coast. I’d see the beaches of La Push, stand in the rainy town of Forks, and trek through the vibrant green forests. Since there wasn’t an official Twilight tour to take, I created my own tour and am glad I did. There’s so much to see and do here, that with a self-guided tour, I was able to pick and choose what worked best for me while making all my Twilight dreams come true.

Things to Know Before Visiting Forks

Forever twilight in forks festival.

Every September the town of Forks hosts the Forever Twilight in Forks Festival. This four-day festival celebrates all things Twilight in an event dedicated to the fans. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy with auctions, costume contests, and parties, to name a few. Best of all, different actors from the Twilight Saga attend each year, where fans can take part in panels, photo-ops, and autographs. Different events throughout the festival require tickets, so make sure to purchase them beforehand. One day I’ll return to Forks, Washington just to go to the festival!

How Long to Spend in Forks

Touring all the Twilight spots in Forks, and the surrounding beaches, won’t take more than a day. Although, if you plan to visit Port Angeles, and many of the amazing locations across Olympic National Park, try to add at least one to two additional days to your trip. I recommend staying at least overnight in Forks for a more in-depth experience or in Olympic National Park for scenic views and a shorter drive. Staying in Port Angeles, which also plays a key location in the Twilight Saga is another viable option.

Where was Twilight Filmed

It’s important to point out that you won’t have the opportunity to visit any filming locations for the movies in Forks. The majority of the first Twilight movie was filmed in Oregon, while the sequels were mostly filmed across British Columbia, including beach scenes on Vancouver Island . Nevertheless, on this tour, you’ll visit the real-life places described in the books and named in the movies. It's an amazing experience for fans, and this area of Washington is stunning to visit even without the Twilight references!

Spruce Nature Trail Hoh Rain Forest.

When to Visit and Weather

While you most likely won’t find sky-high snow and blistering cold in Forks and this section of Olympic NP, you will experience plenty of rainfall. Forks is one of the wettest places in the continental United States with up to 119” of rainfall a year and an average of 206 rainy days. No wonder the Cullen’s stayed in Forks so long! Temperatures are pretty mild throughout the year, but one can generally expect to find at least some precipitation and fog.

Summer is the most popular time to visit, and is considered the peak season. Expect more crowds, but warmer temperatures and less rainfall. During fall, the forests transform with lovely autumn colors, but precipitation will increase as this is when the rainy season begins. Winter is the wettest time of year, and snow can occur, but there are also fewer visitors. In spring, temperatures will rise, and rainfall will decrease, but it's still off-season for crowds.

If you’re visiting the National Park, please remember that the weather is unpredictable in any season. Always check the National Park website for weather conditions before visiting the beaches or forests.

How to Get To Forks

If you’re driving from Seattle or Portland, buckle up for a long but beautiful drive. It’ll take approximately 4 hours to reach Forks from Seattle, and 4-5 hours from Portland. There are several ways to get to Forks depending on where you want to start your tour. From Seattle, you can begin your self-guided tour with Port Angeles using the Bainbridge ferry. Or you can drive around it along the Pacific coast, starting with the National Park spots and Forks. For my tour, I chose the latter as I wanted a shorter drive back to Seattle, but either way works.

A Self-guided Twilight Tour in Forks, WA

Pose with the forks sign and bella’s truck.

If you can only make one stop in Forks, this should be it. It’s essentially a three-for-one destination: the Forks town sign, Bella’s truck, and a Twilight souvenir shop. They’re all located at the Forks Chamber of Commerce, which is easy enough to plug into Google maps.

The Welcome to Forks sign is directly in front of the parking lot so it makes for the perfect photo opportunity to pay tribute to our favorite Twilight town. Conveniently, the easily recognizable vintage red truck is in the parking lot behind the welcome sign. It’s an accurate replica of Bella's truck and has Bella written on the license plate.

Location: 1411 S Forks Ave, Forks, WA 98331

Welcome to Forks sign with Twilight fan .

Check Out Forever Twilight in Forks Collection

Right up the road from the Forks Chamber of Commerce is the Forever Twilight Collection. This is a free exhibit where fans can see costumes and props from the movie saga. There are also fan-made items and memorabilia with a few photo ops, which any Twihard fan can enjoy.

Opening hours vary depending on the season. In winter, they’re open Fridays and Saturdays from 12 -4 pm. In summer, they’re open from Thursday - Monday from 12 - 4 pm. You can also find the Native to Twilight store across the street that offers plenty of Twilight souvenir options.

Location: 11 N Forks Ave, Forks, WA 98331

Walk Along the La Push Beaches

“La Push baby. It’s La Push.”

Though the iconic movie scenes didn’t film in La Push, instead it was filmed at Cannon Beach in Oregon, you can visit the real La Push on a self-guided tour of Forks. The beaches are similar in appearance, and La Push is not only a part of the first two books and movies in the saga but also a beautiful location to explore. La Push is approximately a 20-minute drive from Forks, making it a great next destination after touring the town.

La Push has a series of three beaches appropriately named First, Second, and Third Beach, next to the La Push community. First Beach is part of the Quileute nation, and Second and Third Beach are within Olympic NP. Stephanie Meyer never specified which La Push beach Bella visits in Twilight, but of the three, I opted to visit Second Beach as it closely resembled the beach seen in the first Twilight movie.

Second Beach La Push.

However, I should mention that First Beach is the most accessible of the three, whereas Second Beach requires more of a trek. Getting to Second Beach is an easy 2-mile out and back hike that any age and fitness level can complete. The path is flat and passes through a breathtaking forest. With the lush greenery, towering trees, and moss-covered wood, it feels like you’re in a scene right out of Twilight. Please be aware that La Push and First Beach are part of the tribe nation and to be respectful of their land.

Location: (Second Beach parking lot) Olympic Discovery Trail, La Push, WA 98350

Stay at the Swan House

On your tour of Forks, not only can you see the house that inspired Bella and Charlie’s home, but you can stay there as well. The owners welcome travelers to stop and take photos in front of the house even if they aren’t staying at the property. It’s a charming farmhouse built in the early 1900s and available to rent on Airbnb. Even if you don’t plan on renting the home, it’s a fun stop to make for pictures. I might have been team Edward as a girl, but now I’m without question in the team Charlie camp so this was extra fun for me.

Location: 775 K St, Forks, WA 98331

Or Stay at Jacob Black’s House

“Where the hell have you been, loca?”

Oh, Jacob. As I've said, though I spent my young adult years firmly on the side of team Edward, my appreciation of the loyal werewolf never wavered. This vacation rental looks identical to Jacob’s home seen clearly in New Moon. With its unique bright red exterior, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported into the Twilight universe. Like Bella’s home, it’s worth a visit even if you don’t plan on making accommodations there, especially if you were/are team Jacob.

Location: 8320 La Push Rd, Forks, WA 98331

Book a Room at the Cullen House

The Miller Tree Inn is a beautiful Bed and Breakfast farmhouse built in the early 1900s. The inn, which is named the “Cullen House” in Forks, offers a stay in a historic setting with modern amenities and amazing breakfasts served each morning. Despite it bearing no resemblance to the sleek home shown in the movies, its appearance is accurate to the description Stephanie Meyer writes of the Cullen’s home in the books.

Best of all the Cullen house has a replica of the graduation caps artwork seen in the Twilight movies and an office for Dr. Carlisle Cullen. Between the delicious breakfasts, cozy rooms, and Twilight settings, what’s not to love?

Location: 654 E Division St, Forks, WA 98331

See the Treaty Line

Another quick stop on your self-guided Twilight tour is seeing the Treaty line, on the way from Forks to La Push. The long-standing treaty between the Cullen family and the werewolf tribe plays a pivotal role in the Twilight Saga, and to see where that line between them would be is a cool experience for all the Twihard fans out there.

The sign is on the side of La Push road, so you’ll want to park in the spacious lot next to it by 3 Rivers Resort and walk over to it. There’s a different image on each side of the sign, creating two equally fun photo opportunities any fan can appreciate. One side reads, “No Vampires Beyond This Point.” with the image of a howling wolf. The other side says, “Welcome Twilight Fans.”

Location: 7760 La Push Rd, Forks, WA 98331

Hike Rialto Beach

While Rialto Beach isn’t technically part of the Twilight Saga, it is an unmissable spot in the area. The beach is less than a 20-minute drive from La Push with a big parking lot, making it an easy add-on to your Forks tour. When I think of the atmosphere in the series, I imagine thick fog, a muted grey sky above a crashing dark sea, and emerald green forestry. Rialto Beach delivers on all of that and more. You’ll also find unique sea stacks and otherworldly driftwood smattered across this rugged coast.

Driftwood on Rialto Beach.

One of the reasons this particular beach is so popular is due to the eye-catching and photogenic arch known as the Hole in the Wall. Fair warning this is a 3.3-mile out-and-back moderate hike , and to see the hole is wholly dependent on if the tides are low. I attempted the trek and did glimpse it in the distance, but my screaming legs, unfortunately, forced me to turn around. Still, I loved all the Twilight vibes of this beach in Olympic NP.

Location: Mora Rd, Forks, WA 98331

Rialto Beach in Olympic National Park.

Stop by Dr. Cullen’s Parking Spot

Dr. Carlisle Cullen, the wise and patient doctor that always supported and loved his adopted family, has his own parking spot at the Forks Community Hospital. This spot is a fun homage to our favorite vampire dad with a cute sign for pictures. The sign reads, “Dr. Cullen Vampire Parking Only.” You can find it near the administration building at the hospital.

Location: 530 Bogachiel Way, Forks, WA 98331

Go View Forks High School

Admittedly, even though I consider myself a lifelong Twihard fan, this is one spot that I skipped. The school isn't out of the way, and it’s an easy stop along your self-guided tour, but I chose not to pay a visit. For me even though the school plays a huge part in the Twilight Saga, it felt weird to take pictures of a normal school. But that’s just me! There’s no actual Twilight reference here to see, and the school filmed in the movies is Kalama High School in Kalama, WA, but you can go view the outside of Forks High School.

Location: 261 Spartan Ave, Forks, WA 98331

Drop by the Forks Police Station

Like Forks High, the Police station is a functioning place of operation in the town, and you, unfortunately, won’t find any direct Twilight mention here. Once upon a time, there was a tribute to Chief Swan, but as the hype died down they eventually removed it. It’s still interesting to quickly check out if you’re a Charlie fan like me.

Location: 500 East Division Street, Forks, WA

Wander Through the Hoh Rain Forest

“You better hold on tight spider monkey.”

Though it’s one of the most cringy lines uttered in the Twilight movies, I love the scene itself. All the intense greenery of the forest Edward jumps through is enchanting. The Hoh Rain Forest, which technically is located in Forks, is in my opinion, the most beautiful part of Olympic National Park and is reminiscent of that Twilight scene. This is where I started my self-guided tour in the very early morning hours of the day to avoid crowds, before driving to Forks. It’s somewhat out of the way, the visitor center is approximately 45 minutes from Forks but it’s well worth the effort to get to.

Hoh Rain Forest in Olympic National Park.

Hoh Rain Forest feels like landing on another planet. One created of an old-growth forest, waking beneath a canopy of towering trees, and where every square inch is covered in bright green moss and ferns. It’s a serenely quiet world of varying shades of emerald. Once there, check out these two easy hikes: Hall of Mosses which is a 1.1-mile loop trail , and Spruce Nature Trail that’s a 1.4-mile loop .

As this is a National Park, you’ll either need an America the Beautiful annual park pass ($80) or pay the $30 entrance fee. This section of Olympic NP also draws some of the most visitors. Consider coming in the early morning and avoiding weekends and holidays if possible.

Location: 18113 Upper Hoh Rd, Forks, WA 98331

Arch in Hoh Rain Forest.

Visit Port Angeles

It wouldn’t be a true Twilight-inspired tour if the town of Port Angeles weren’t included on this list. Depending on your preference, you can either begin or end your trip with Port Angeles. I chose to end with it as I preferred the shorter drive back to Seattle, which took around two and a half hours.

In Twilight, Port Angeles is where Bella went prom dress shopping, which she ultimately ditched for a bookstore, and then got lost. This leads to Edward coming to save her from a group of threatening men, and the soon-to-be couple then goes on their first date. While the dress shop and bookstore don’t exist in real life, Port Angeles has a beautiful downtown shopping scene by the waterfront. You’ll find plenty of boutique shops, galleries, and museums. If there’s time, consider taking a whale-watching tour, which is one of the top-rated activities in the area.

If you’re looking for somewhere to eat when visiting Port Angeles, then you must dine at Bella Italia. This is the same restaurant where Bella and Edward had their memorable first date. While dining there make sure to try Bella’s Mushroom Ravioli for the ultimate Twilight experience, as that’s the exact dish Bella orders on her date.

Location: (Bella Italia) 118 E 1st St, Port Angeles, WA 98362

Where to Stay

Apart from the accommodations already mentioned in this post, there are plenty of other hotels and Airbnb's in Forks and the surrounding areas to choose from. However, if you’re traveling during peak season in summer, remember to make reservations early. This is a popular tourist destination, especially for Olympic National Park, and rooms can be booked up months in advance.

Hotels in Forks, WA

1. Pacific Inn Motel

This no-fuss reasonably priced lodging in Forks has modern rooms with comfortable amenities. The big draw is the Twilight-themed room. It has Twilight movie posters, red and black walls, and vampire-themed decor. Reservations for this room fill quickly, so the earlier you book, the better.

2. Olympic Suites Inn

These are spacious and comfortable rooms right in the heart of Forks. The inn is affordable, and it’s in a convenient location for anyone on a self-guided Twilight tour.

3. Quileute Oceanside Resort

The Quileute tribe is pivotal to this area of the Pacific Northwest. They're also important to Stephanie Meyer’s series, since our favorite wolf, Jacob Black, is part of the tribe. The resort is part of the real Quileute Nation’s land, that's filled with rich history and culture. Though not technically in Forks, the resort is a 20-minute drive away. They provide oceanfront cabins and units, a campground, and RV parks next to the stunning Pacific Northwest beaches. In fact, it’s steps away from La Push’s First Beach.

Hotels in Olympic National Park

1. Rain Forest Resort Village

This quaint resort is a little over an hour's drive from Forks. I opted to stay here during my Twilight tour since I wanted to start with the Hoh Rain Forest early in the morning. Plus, they offer affordable rooms with scenic lake views. My favorite part of staying here is that they’re located next to the world's largest Sitka Spruce tree. If you have extra time there are some amazing trails nearby as well.

World's largest Sitka Spruce tree.

2. Lake Quinault Lodge

This lakeside lodge found down the road from the Rain Forest Resort is also a beautiful place to stay. They have awe-inspiring lake views, fireplace rooms, and a restaurant on site. This is the more popular of the two lodgings, so prepare to book early to stay here.

3. Kalaloch Lodge

Whether you prefer to book the main lodge, one of their cozy cabins, or the secluded house tucked further back, a stay at Kalaloch Lodge is both comfortable and convenient. With direct access to Olympic National Park beaches and within driving distance of all the major must-see Twilight and National Park destinations, this is a perfect place to have as your base spot. It’s also one of the most popular accommodations in the area. Reservations should be booked months in advance to secure your stay.

4. Lake Crescent Lodge

One of the most stunning lakes in Olympic NP is Lake Crescent, and there’s a rustic lodge you can stay at right on the lake. Lake Crescent Lodge is located near Port Angeles, about a 30-minute drive away, making it an ideal choice if you plan to end your tour in the town. It’s open seasonally, from late spring to mid-fall, but like many accommodations in the National Park, it books up quickly. If you want gorgeous lake views in a serene location without any modern distractions like television, the Lake Crescent Lodge is a great option.

Lake Crescent in Olympic National Park.

Other Olympic National Park Spots Near Forks

If you’re visiting Washington for a Twilight tour and time permits, then you should extend your stay to experience more of the magnificent Olympic National Park. A few of the places already mentioned, like Rialto Beach and Hoh Rain Forest are part of the National Park, but there’s so much more to see and do. These are some of the highlights in the National Park, and all are within driving distance from Forks.

Ruby Beach is often referred to as the jewel of Olympic National Park, and it’s easy to see why. Famous for its dramatic coast with impressive sea stacks, tide pools brimming with sea life during low tide, and unique driftwood sculptures. It’s also easily accessible, and only a 30-minute drive from Forks. Unfortunately, Ruby Beach was closed to the public for construction work when I visited. Despite my disappointment, it gives me a good reason to return!

Lake Crescent

Lake Crescent is a gorgeous lake in the National Park located near Port Angeles. There are numerous activities here ranging from picnic areas, boat launches, and hiking trails. During the summer season, visitors can rent canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards from the Lake Crescent Lodge. The breathtaking Marymere Falls is a short hike from the lake and was one of the highlights of my Washington trip. It’s an easy 1.7-mile out-and-back trek leading to the falls through a lush forest.

Marymere Falls in Olympic National Park.

Hurricane Ridge

Hurricane Ridge is a dramatic change from the remarkable scenery along the Olympic coast, as the National Park transforms into a staggering mountain range. If you plan on visiting Port Angeles, I highly recommend a trip to Hurricane Ridge located 17 miles away. Beyond the epic mountain views seen at the visitor center, Hurricane Ridge is a great spot for hiking. One of the most popular Hurricane Ridge hikes is to Hurricane Hill, a 3.4-mile moderate out-and-back trail that promises jaw-dropping panoramic views of the Olympic region.

The road to Hurricane Ridge is accessible throughout the summer months, but only open Fridays-Sundays during the winter. Cars must also have tire chains in the winter season. The road can close at any time due to weather conditions. Always check the national park website for updates before visiting.

Final Thoughts

Forks, Washington is a destination every Twilight fan has dreamed of visiting. It’s a quaint town with a loving enthusiasm for Twilight and the fan community. The surrounding coastal beaches and otherworldly forests of Olympic National Park are a must-see for their beauty and serenity alone, but also that they give all the vibes of the beloved vampire series. A self-guided Twilight tour of Forks is the perfect way to experience it all in real life.

Huge Twilight fan so this is so cool - awesome pics! Looks gorgeous!

Thank you! It's such an awesome experience for any Twilight fan and the whole area is beautiful!

I love everything about the Olympic Peninsula. We stayed at Kalaloch Lodge when we were there. Thanks for all the great information.

Me too, I can't wait to return one day to stay at the Kalaloch Lodge! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Wow this looks like such a fantastic destination. I don't know about this movie, but the place looks so picturesque..

I recommend the area even with the Twilight references, it's a beautiful destination and National Park to explore!

Love love LOVE this! Fellow Twihard here, definitely have to plan my trip to Forks ASAP!

Twilight forever! You will LOVE Forks!

Love this post! This is so fun. It would be a great girls trip for me and my friend Michele. Thanks for sharing!

Some of the best fun I've had traveling! You'll have a blast!

This is still firmly on my travel bucket list. I devoured all the books when they came out, then went to the movies.

Same for me! It's an incredible experience for Twilight fans, and anyone who enjoys unbelievable scenery!

We are going to Forks in a couple weeks and we are looking for a self guided tour. Is there a recommended order to pack the most in?

That's so exciting, I hope you have the best time! I would recommend starting with the Hoh Rainforest and then making your way through Forks (all of the Twilight stops are close together in town) and finally to the coastal beaches! All of these can easily be done in one day. You can try to squeeze in Port Angeles and Lake Crescent in Olympic NP too but I would say that's better for a second day!

Hi there! This post could not be written much better!

Going through this article reminds me of my previous roommate! He always kept preaching about this. I most certainly will forward this post to him. Fairly certain he'll have a great read. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much! I hope your former roommate enjoys it! Forks is an amazing place!

This is exactly what I was looking for !! Thank you for sharing ❤️

I am so glad you found it helpful! I hope you get to visit Forks soon! 🙂

Don’t Miss the Ultimate Twilight Experience in Forks, Washington

“In the state of Washington , under a near constant cover of clouds and rain, there is a small town named Forks. Population: 3,120 people.” -Bella Swan, Twilight.

Hello, fellow Twilight lover! Visiting the Olympic Peninsula and most importantly, Forks where the Twilight books and Twilight movies were based has been a dream of mine. If it’s on your bucket list, you’re in the right place. I’ve got everything you need for the ultimate Twilight Experience in Forks, Washington!

The Ultimate Twilight Guide Forks, Washington

Things to Know Before You Go

Interesting Facts about Forks and the Twilight Series: The Twilight movies were not filmed in Forks. Most of them were filmed around Oregon and British Columbia. However, the books were set in Forks and that is why it’s a must-visit on your Twilight tour.

One of the reasons the Twilight movies weren’t filmed in Forks or Washington State for that matter is two reasons. The first is that Forks is way too small and remote to accommodate an entire production team and secondly, Washington State doesn’t make it easy on filming budgets.

Twilights movie release in 2008 during the financial crisis helped the small town of Forks with the influx of tourism to the very small town.

Twilight Playlist: download my moody Twilight PNW Olympic Peninsula Playlist here for your road trip

Climate:  It’s a marine climate which means you can expect cooler summers, mild and cloudy winters, and lots of moisture in the air. In the summer, daytime temperatures range from 65°F – 85°F (18°C – 29°C) while it can drop between 40°F – 50°F (4°C – 10°C) at night. Rainstorms move across the Olympic Peninsula even during the summer months so it is best to always have rain gear handy.

Best time to go:  April through September is the best time to visit because it’s the lowest rainfall and milder temperatures.

Language:  English is the predominant language.

Money:  US Dollar ($USD). Most businesses accept all major credit cards but there are a few that are cash only. It’s always smart on a roadtrip to have cash on hand for roadside stands (like Where’s the Frybread)

How to Get to Forks on the Olympic Peninsula

✈️  Airport:  The Seattle Tacoma (SEA) International Airport is the closest airport to fly into Washington State but you can also fly into Victoria International Airport (YYJ).

🚗   Car Rental : Easily r ent a car here and save 70% off at the Seattle Tacoma (SEA) International Airport.

⛴️ Ferry: Drive onto the Seattle-Bainbridge Island ferry, the Seattle-Bremerton ferry, or the Edmonds-Kingston ferry. Here is where you can find the Washington State Ferry Schedule and Fares .

If you’re coming from Canada, Black Ball Ferry is a 90-minute ride for about $22 USD between Victoria, BC and Port Angeles, Washington State.

🚌 Bus: The Dungeness Bus line provides service from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Kingston, Edmonds, Discovery Bay, Sequim, and Port Angeles.

Don’t Forget to…

  • Gas up your car
  • Take out cash from an ATM for roadside stands
  • Create a moody road trip playlist ( Twilight PNW Olympic Peninsula Playlist )
  • Wear SPF – yes, even in the car (here’s  my favorite tinted SPF )
  • Pack a cooler with lots of water and high-protein snacks
  • Be prepared for all weather conditions & pack layers +rain gear
  • Bring  motion sickness medication like Dramamine  if you get carsick
  • Wear your sunglasses/hat/visor

What to Expect on Your Twilight Tour

Being that Forks is so small, your tour won’t take more than an hour. Once you finish in Forks, though you can head out to La Push, it’s La Push baby! This will extend your Twilight adventure as you cross the Treaty Line heading into werewolf territory, I mean Quileute Reservation.

There will be so many other twihards out and about that you’ll run into. Be mindful of sharing the space, so everyone can get a picture. It’s always nice to offer to snap a picture especially if you’re going to ask someone to take yours. Or you could just grab a tripod like this one !

How to Take a Self-Guided Twilight Tour

As you drive into Forks, your first stop is going to be the iconic Forks Welcome Sign . Unlike some welcome signs, there is a little parking area with plenty of room for multiple cars here. You’ll definitely want to stop and snap a photo.

Forks Welcome Sign

Stop by the Forks Chamber of Commerce to pick up your Twilight map and visitor information. This is super important as they provide a map with information about each location including dos and don’ts plus some fun trivia you can play while driving around. A lot of the places are active businesses or residential areas, so make sure you follow the rules! Outside of the Forks Chamber of Commerce, you’ll see two rusty burnt orange trucks sitting outside.

Why two, you might ask? One of them is Bella’s truck from the movie and the other is her truck from the book.

Forks Chamber of Commerce Twilight Tour

Drive by the Forks Transit Center to see Charlie Swan’s Police Cruiser . Take a peek inside and you’ll see it’s pretty gutted but is definitely an older model like in the movie.

Go Spartans! Forks Highschool features the same mascot and school colors (blue and gold) as in the Twilight movies. Be mindful if you’re visiting from September to June during school hours. (Although the students and staff are probably used to the twihards.) Luckily, when I went school had just let out the week before and it was empty.

Forks High School

You’ll notice a big silver mailbox that reads “ Cullen House “. This is the house from the book which is nothing like the house depicted in the movies. It is a bed and breakfast and while they don’t mind if you respectfully take photos outside, if you are not a guest you cannot go further on the property.

The Cullen House on Twilight Self-Guided Tour

Book a stay at the Miller Tree Inn Bed & Breakfast here.

If you went inside the Chamber of Commerce, you saw Dr. Cullen’s white lab coat. But you can still visit Forks Community Hospital to see where he worked. There’s a sign for “Dr. Cullen’s Parking Spot” labeled in the parking lot but you won’t find his black Mercedes S55 AMG parked here.

The Swan House, Bella’s House from the book, is located in a residential area. Be mindful of neighbors and traffic as it is now an Airbnb. Please do not trespass unless you are staying at the Airbnb. However, they do have a sign out front and even put an Edward Cullen cutout in Bella’s window on the second floor.

The Swan House from the Twilight Book Series

Crossing the treaty line

No matter if you’re Team Edward or Team Jacob, you’ll want to head out to La Push and see the Treaty Line . As you make your way out of Forks on US101, you’ll turn onto Highway 110 towards Quileute Indian Reservation . This is a long road and you’ll drive about 20 minutes before you see the sign.

Twilight Treaty Line

Pull off into the Three Rivers Resort parking lot and safely make your way to the Treaty Line sign. It’s double-sided with this Welcome Twilight Fans and Treaty Line (pictured above) and a surprise on the back. You can see it in my stories or you’ll just have to go yourself! 😉

Continue along Highway 110 (La Push Road) towards First Beach . There are trails leading down to the beach and miles upon miles of beach to walk along. Make sure to check tide times with a quick Google search “tide times First Beach [insert date]”.

La Push First Beach in Forks Washington

Head north to visit the beautiful Rialto Beach . A few popular attractions include the Hole in the Wall, tide pools that have interesting rocks and sea glass or simply walk along the beach.

Where to Eat

Head back to Forks and grab dinner at the popular Pacific Pizza. Although it’s not featured in the Twilight book or movie, they have incredible pizza. No wonder it’s always busy!

The only 2 restaurants featured in the Twilight series are not located in Forks. The Carver Cafe is in Damascus, Oregon, and is the diner that Bella and Charlie frequent. Edward and Bella’s “first date” and really their only date is at Bella Italia in Port Angeles . Bella’s Mushroom Ravioli is worth the hype! It was so delicious!

13 'Twilight' film locations in the Pacific Northwest you can visit in real life

Kalama High School (Image:{ }Rachael A. Jones)

With a new companion book coming out on Aug. 4, "Twilight" fans will once again visit the moody, mysterious town of Forks, Washington — this time from the perspective of Edward Cullen, the iconic (and dreamy) centenarian vampire. While Stephenie Meyer's best-selling series takes place in the Olympic Peninsula, nothing was filmed in the area for the movie adaptations. In fact, only two major locations were used in the state of Washington — and not a single scene was shot in the real-life town of Forks . However, if you visit today, you'll see an old, red truck proudly parked in front of the city's chamber of commerce.

Though the films pay attention to Washingtonian culture with references to "Vitamin R" and Red Vines, the locations used to bring Forks and La Push to life on the big screen were actually filmed in Oregon and British Columbia. If you're feeling inspired by the new retelling of this supernatural story and want to visit Bella's old stomping grounds, here's a list of the most popular "Twilight" film locations you can still visit in the Pacific Northwest.

Edward's Backyard

The other noteworthy "Twilight" scene shot in-state features Cape Horn, WA. When Edward takes Bella on a tree climbing/flying adventure out his bedroom window, they're really soaring through treetops in Skamania County. While you can't have the same "spider monkey" view as Edward and Bella, you can see the Columbia River - closer to the ground - from the Cape Horn Overlook.

La Push Beach

"It's La Push, baby!" Except it's not La Push — it's Cannon Beach in Oregon. And after the first film, the Quileute reservation beach was recreated again at Incinerator Rock in Long Beach, B.C., for "New Moon".

Dress Shopping

St. Helens, OR was used as a stand-in for Port Angeles and its shops. If you look through the shop window during the prom dress scene, you'll see the St. Helens city hall, which was also used in Disney's "Halloweentown".

Vampire Baseball

When the Cullen crew plays thunder baseball, there's a huge waterfall shown in the background. While Washington certainly has its share of amazing falls , the waterfall seen on screen is Oregon's Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge.

Forks Bridge

At the very beginning of the first film, Bella and her dad Charlie Swan are seen driving across a dramatic, long bridge and into the town of Forks. You can drive across the same bridge though, in reality, it's nowhere near Forks. It's called The Bridge of Gods, and it crosses the Columbia River and spans the Washington and Oregon border.

Forks Police Station

Vernonia, OR likely has a stronger claim to be the official "Twilight" town, as two of the city's main intersections were used in establishing shots for Forks. And the Wauna Federal Credit Union in town was used as Chief Swan's police station.

Forks High School

The exterior for the home of the Spartans, as well as the infamous school parking lot scene where Edward saves Bella's life, was shot at Kalama High School in Kalama, Washington. However, after the first film, the franchise was shot in the Vancouver, B.C. area. Forks High School was recreated at David Thompson Secondary School for "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" and the graduation scene in the school gym was shot at Como Lake Middle School for "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse."

Hunting Grounds

The thick, moss-covered forest in the film opening looks just like the Hoh Rainforest, but it's another Oregon dupe. These chase scenes with the deer were filmed in Silver Falls State Park, about 20 miles away from Salem, OR.

The Carver Cafe

In the "Twilight" book, the Forks diner frequented by Bella and Chief Swan was called The Lodge, but the film used a locally-owned restaurant in Damascus, OR and didn't change the name. The Carver Cafe is still open today and cheekily advertises to "come get a bite."

The final scene in "Twilight" — a Monte Carlo-themed dance with an incredibly romantic, twinkling gazebo — was shot at the View Point Inn in Corbett, OR. Unfortunately, the building suffered a fire that took the second floor in 2011, but as the inn is on the National Register of Historic Places, there's hope in the Portland community that it can be restored.

2024 Forks Washington Travel Guide for Twilight Fans

Are you a Twilight fan and looking for an experience that will connect you closer to Bella, Edward & Jacob (Or simply someone who will be intrigued by all this unique area has to offer)?

A major bucket list item for every Twilight super fan definitely has to be a visit to Forks, Washington! The moody setting of Stephanie Meyer’s popular vampire novel (and film) series, Twilight.

In the centre of the Olympic Peninsula, between the Olympic Mountains and the Pacific Ocean beaches, is Forks, Washington. As you tour the Northwest region of the Pacific Northwest, Forks, and the surrounding area, you will be provided with an outstanding variety of natural attractions, hiking trails and more. With an average annual rainfall of 120 inches, Forks is the wettest town in the contiguous United States!

Before deciding to set her books in Forks, author Stephenie Meyer had never been there. She chose the town after Googling the “wettest places in the US” (since vampires hate sunshine, obviously), which makes rainy Forks the perfect place for the story to take place. The small town was forever changed because of it and it is now full of tons of unique things to see and do.

Surprisingly, nothing for the film adaptations was actually filmed in Forks. In reality, just two significant locations in the state of Washington were featured, and not a single scene was filmed in Forks. Filming actually took place in Oregon and British Columbia, which look a lot like Forks. But the town still has so many Twilight-themed things to experience, and you will still feel like you’ve been teleported right into the stories!

Keep reading to learn about the best places to visit for a fantastic and unforgettable Twilight saga experience in Washington state!

Calgary to Forks: Approximately 15 hours

Edmonton to Forks: Approximately 17 hours

Best Time to Visit Forks, Washington

The best time to visit is from October to May, especially if you want to enjoy the relaxing rain that Forks is famous for. The rainfall only enhances the beauty and vibrancy of the lush rainforests that surrounds this area. Additionally, beaches and hiking paths won’t be busy and prices for accommodation will be more affordable.

If you don’t want to deal with as much rain, then Mid-June to mid-September is the ideal time to explore Forks, Washington. The weather is at its warmest and there is a lower likelihood of rain during this time.

How Long to Stay in Forks

You could plan your trip for as long or as short as you want and there would still be lots of new things to do the next time you choose to visit. Along with driftwood, books, walking sticks, jewellery, and crafts, they also have a lovely collection of glass orbs, some of which are for sale. And don’t miss the impressive sculptures that can be found outside the museum.

The Ultimate Twilight Hotel Experience in Forks, Washington

Article By: Erin J. Boyle

Are you ready for a “Twilight” hotel in Forks, where you can experience the series and follow Bella Swan throughout her journey in western Washington? Forks remains a popular tourist destination where avid fans can witness the places that Bella and her friends traversed.

the Twilight movie poster

Be sure to carry your umbrella. Why? Because Forks is the rainiest place in the continental United States.

The rainy old town of Forks, Washington is located on the Olympic Peninsula. It’s right in the middle of one of the country’s top road trip itineraries , too, featuring Olympic Peninsula National Park.

Relatively small (population 3,335) despite its fame, Forks is surrounded by the beautiful Olympic Mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

Abundant salmon and steelhead trout populate the many miles of rivers that run through Forks. Thus, before the Twilight phenomenon swept the globe, Forks was mainly an attraction for nature-loving fishermen. It’s bordered by ocean shores to the north and west, and neighboring meadows and valleys to the south and east.

The Forever Twilight in Forks Festival

Fans of all ages flock to this northwest city in the ongoing Twilight fantasia. It’s the best place to delve into the world of Bella, Edward, and Jacob. Many Forks businesses have incorporated Twilight-themed goods into their repertoire. Restaurants serve items named after the characters, hand-made jewelry is inspired by the books. Even some hotel rooms are decorated with a Twilight theme.

The culmination of all things Twilight is the Forever Twilight in Forks Weekend . That takes place in mid-September every year (Sept. 14-17, 2023). It has celebrated author Stephenie Meyer, who chose this small town as the setting for her blockbuster novel, since 2007.

Today, a more sophisticated festival program includes actors playing the Cullen Coven, Jacob Black, the Volturi and others. Fans love the sessions at the lcoal Forks High School, the themed parties and movie showings.

When to Visit Forks, Washington

Hoh Rain Forest on Olympic Peninsula, Washington

Forks is as busy as might be expected of any Pacific Northwestern getaway during summer. Yet many hotels offer deals for part of fall, during the frigid winter and the cool, damp spring that are difficult to dismiss.

We’re not talking about the autmn Forever Twilight in Forks Festival weekend, of course. (Also known as FTF, the same initials Family Travel Forum goes by!) It’s very popular event so hotels are at a premium.

Once you’ve got a place to stay, plan an itinerary of things to see and do with stops at places of exceptional natural beauty.

Twilight Hotels in Forks – a Few Options

Twilight themed hotel room at Pacific Inn, Forks, Washington

For a truly inspired visit, the Pacific Inn Motel offers Twilight Hotel Rooms among many other simple motel rooms. Rooms equipped with flat screen TVs, WiFi, minifridges and microwaves are decorated with the most dedicated fan in mind. Non-themed rooms start less expensive. Note that all are booked way in advance.

For any team-Jacob fans out there, Quileute Oceanside Resort allows you to experience the tribe and history that define Jacob.  Not only will you be right in the heart of La Push where Jacob and Bella became friends. You will also be surrounded by the natural beauty of the Pacific coastline and over 1,000 years of Native-American culture. Checkout the official First Beach webcam for current views. This resort, operated by the Quileute tribes, has 33 oceanfront cabins, two oceanfront motel units and 10 camper cabins. All units feature full kitchens or mini-kitchens; rates range from $175 to $390 per night. Tent sites start at $30; click for the 2023 Quileute Oceanside Resort rate sheet . You won’t waste your time on social media here. There are strict rules against video / audio recordings of Native American cultural ceremonies, no WiFi — no TV either.

The Forks Chamber of Commerce offers a few other Twilight-themed options and stays current with what’s available. The Forks website highlights a few of them.

Olympic National Park Is Another Authentic Place to Stay

Evergreens covered in snow at the Hoh Rainforest within Olympic National Park, Washington. Photo c. S. Sheltren for NPS

Carved by over 60 glaciers, Olympic National Park and the region are truly spectacular landscapes. There are other seasonal hotel savings packages that are a bit farther away. However, you get to check out the scenic Olympic Peninsula.

All year, seniors and AAA members take 10% off room costs at the lakeside Lake Quinault Lodge . Nice cozy rooms are available with fireplaces. Did you know that in 1937, President Franklin D. Roosevelt had lunch in what became the Roosevelt Dining Room? Within the year, he had signed a bill creating Olympic National Park. Today, it’s considered one of the region’s best eateries.

Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort has hot spring pools just steps from the front door. The setting, surrounded by forested peaks, is very romantic. Ask about seasonal special where hot springs admission is free. There are other savings at the full service, lakefront Lake Crescent Lodge in fall and winter. During summers, the rustic Log Cabin Resort is very busy but it doesn’t hurt to check the website. Visit Olympic National Park for reservations and specials.

Twilight Making You Hungry? Dining a la Twilight in Forks, Washington

Plate of mushroom ravioli featured at Bella Itallia Restaurant in Forks, Washington for "Twilight" fans.

After a long day of touring the town, visit a local restaurant for some delicious Twilight-inspired cuisine.  You can visit Bella Italia where Bella and Edward had their first date. Order the same mushroom ravioli as Bella, now named for her. The restaurant boasts authentic Italian cuisine so everything is tasty. Bella Italia is located in Port Angeles, near the Black Ball ferry to Victoria.

Do you remember the scene when Bella had dinner with her father in the diner? It’s the classic Sully’s Burgers and they welcome fans with the “Bella Burger.”  Located in Forks, the drive-in also serves ice cream, chicken and pizza.

It’s hard to pass up such tempting deals!  If you truly are a Twilight fan, don’t miss out on all that Forks, Washington has to offer.

The small, lumber town of Forks is home to a number of Twilight-related attractions. A map to them on the  Forks Chamber of Commerce website .

Bella’s Truck  – 1411 South Forks Avenue Stop by Bella’s red 1950’s Chevrolet pickup truck for some fun photo ops. While you’re here, check out some info on the area at the nearby Forks Visiting Center.

The Swan House  – 775 K Street The owners of this private residence volunteered their home as the “official” home of Bella and Charlie. Feel free to take pics of the sign out front but please respect this private residence.

The Cullen House  – 654 E Division Street Forks’ Cullen House, aka The Miller Tree Inn, resembles the home in the books more than the one in the movies. Regardless, the Cullen name is on the mailbox, and messages from Esme can sometimes be seen on the front porch.

Forks High School  – 191 S. Spartans Ave. The Forks High School sign in the movie was based off the real deal and the locale was home to many scenes in the books and films. Excellent for photo opportunities.

Forks Hospital  – 530 Bogachiel Way, Forks, WA 98331 Forks Hospital is also a prominent location in the Twilight saga.

Twilight Attractions Outside Forks

La Push Bella first connected with Jacob Black on a beach in La Push. La Push is home to the Quileute Indian Tribe and one of the most popular Twilight locations. See the  Vampire/Werewolf Treaty Line  on  7760 La Push Road  and enjoy the area’s majestic beaches. The Hoh Rainforest The Hoh Rain Forest in  Olympic National Park  is just outside Forks and a wonderful place to visit, Twihard or not. That being said, Twilight fans will find the scenery reminiscent of many important events in the series.

Bella Italia  – 118 E 1st Street, Port Angeles, WA The restaurant where Edward and Bella had their first date exists. In fact, this fine Italian eatery has been in business since 1996, well before the Twilight series existed. The food is quite good and Bella’s mushroom ravioli is on the menu!  www.bellaitaliapa.com

Forever Twilight Festival

Beyond all the fun scene locations around town, Forks also hosts an annual festival around the Twilight saga.

The Forever Twilight in Forks Festival features a host of Twilight-themed special events, activities and attractions. This year’s special guests include actors from the Twilight Saga films:  Christopher Heyerdahl  (Marcus),  Alex Meraz  (Paul), and  Erik Odomare  (Peter)!

Taking the twilight saga self tour in forks, washington.

twilight forest

After not thinking about the Twilight Saga for years, I’ve had a Twilight -heavy year in 2020. This week, Midnight Sun ( Twilight from Edward’s point of view) will be published. Back in March, before COVID-19 shut down the world, my husband and I traveled to Forks, Washington.  so he could give a lecture at Peninsula Community College. So, of course, I had to see the Twilight sights. In this post, I’m sharing my experience with the Twilight Saga Self Tour.

Getting Your Guide

Twilight Saga Self Tour beginning

Before I share more about the tour itself, I want to applaud the map. It gives you a visual layout of the town, as well as step by step instructions for driving to each site. The directions were easy to follow and took all the stress out of figuring things out. And yes, I definitely recommend that you drive. Forks is a small town, but the sites are a bit spread out, and there are only sidewalks on the main streets.

The Main Sites in Forks

Map in hand, Daniel and I drove to the first stop on the Twilight Saga Self Tour, the Swan household. Located in a residential area off Fork’s main street, it’s a cute white house with light blue trim. It is privately owned, though, so there are signs asking you to be respectful of the residents and not park outside. I snapped a photo from the driver’s seat and moved on.

Kate at Dr. Cullen's parking spot

After the hospital, we drove through Fork’s downtown. If you haven’t yet seen the Forever Twilight Museum, the tour will lead you there. (You can read about my visit to the Forever Twilight Museum here.) This section of the tour also takes you past Forks High School, the police station and city hall, and other sites. You can check out a few tourist attractions there, but Daniel and I kept going to the next stop.

Our last stop in Forks itself was the Cullen household. In reality, the Cullen house is the Miller Tree Inn Bed and Breakfast, but the owners play along with the Twihards. It was raining when Daniel and I arrived, but I still went up to the front porch to pet a friendly cat and read the note from Esme. Unfortunately, the Cullens were on vacation when I was there, so I couldn’t visit them. Honestly, it was the for the best, as I didn’t need Edward pining over me now that I’m a married woman.

The Treaty Line

Treaty Line

After seeing all the in-town Twilight Saga Self Tour sites, Daniel and I drove out toward La Push and werewolf territory. It’s about a 16-mile drive from the Cullen residence out to the beach. The roads are twisty, but the forest scenery is gorgeous.

After about 10 or 15 minutes of driving, we reached the Treaty Line, the boundary of the Quileute territory that the Cullens have agreed to respect. We parked at a nearby convenience store and took a photo with the Treaty Line banner. At this point, the rain had turned into sleet. As much as I wanted to say hi to Jacob and the pack, I wasn’t too keen about driving on icy roads. So, we skipped the beach and opted to get a nice warm lunch instead.

The Truth Behind the Tour

Given the weather conditions—ideal for sparkly vampires, not so ideal for us mortals—our Twilight Saga Self Tour only lasted a couple hours. However, if you drive all the way to La Push and take more time at the stops, you could spend half a day or more on the tour. Luckily, it’s entirely up to you!

Cullen House

Therefore, when putting together the Twilight Saga Self Tour, the city council made their best guess of which house should be the Swan house. And instead of using the Cullen residence that Stephanie had in mind, they agreed that the Miller Tree Inn would house the Cullens. Honestly, I think the city council nailed it. The Swan house looks so much like what I pictured while reading the books. And it was way more convenient to have the Cullen house be in town and public, so that I could go up to the door without trespassing.

If you’re a current or former Twihard, I highly recommend checking out the Twilight Saga Self Tour. It and the museum are fantastic fan experiences, and the people of Forks are so welcoming. Plus, you cannot beat the beautiful nature of the Pacific Northwest.

Have you ever traveled somewhere because of a book? If you’ve been to Forks, what was your experience like? Share in the comments.

Thank you for your blog – so much information in it!

I am from Australia and starting to research my trip for my 50th to come over – as long as covid takes a hike and we can fly – where is the Dr Cullen sign located at the hospital please

So excited to come and check everything out!

' src=

You’re welcome, Karen! I hope you do get to come over for your 50th when COVID-19 gets under control. My husband’s family is actually in Australia, and we’re hoping to get over there to visit again.

Dr. Cullen’s sign is at the Forks Community Hospital administration building. The hospital is located on Bogachiel Way. But as I say in the article, if you start at the Visitor’s Center and get a tour map, it’s super clear where everything is.

Good luck! Kate

Appreciate your blog and even laughed out loud at the mention of not wanting Edward to create awkwardness around your husband. Hope that we also avoid him on our journey through the area. *fingers crossed* My fiance Katie and I hope to make the trip as a honeymoon location sometime this year. Glad I stumbled on to your website with great information we can use. Thank you again and be well.

You’re welcome! I hope you and your fiancé have a great trip. If it helps, the sign at the Cullen house says they’re still off traveling the world. 😉

Edward and Bella from 'Twilight' enjoy dinner at one of the filming locations from the movie.

This Twilight -Inspired Map Will Show You All The Places You Should Visit On Your Next Road Trip

Welcome to the Pacific Northwest.

Every fan of the Twilight Saga has the Pacific Northwest on their travel bucket list. After all, there would be no Edward and Bella without Forks, Washington, and it’s where the Cullens could easily hide their sparkly vampire skin and play baseball during thunderstorms. With all the Twilight films available to stream on Netflix, your desire to travel out west might be stronger than ever. Before you start booking flights and packing your bags, you’ll want to know all the Twilight Saga filming locations you can visit IRL when you get there.

The Pacific Northwest has a lot more than just a few meadows where you can recreate the scene where Edward and Bella lay out together. Not only can you actually visit the beaches in La Push to go surfing, but you can also stay in Bella’s house from the movies via Airbnb. When you’re hungry, make a reservation at the restaurant where Bella eats dinner while Edward keeps her company. To recreate the iconic truck scene for Instagram or TikTok, you’ll want to head to Kalama High School, where the scene was filmed.

Since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that fully vaccinated people can safely travel domestically, why not plan an entire Twilight -inspired trip? As long as you remember to follow local COVID-19 requirements and practice social distancing as much as possible, you should be able to sink your teeth into whatever your heart desires. It’s up to you whether you decide to jam-pack a getaway to Washington, Oregon, and California with any (or all) of these 12 Twilight movie locations and live out your vampire dreams. It’s the perfect idea for a romantic trip for you and your partner, or a vacay with your besties who accompanied you to see every Twilight movie in theaters.

You’ve done a full rewatch of all the movies, so now’s the time to fully immerse yourself in the saga once more by starting to plan your itinerary.

The Carver Café from 'Twilight' is an actual filming location from the movie.

One of the first spots Bella visits when she arrives in Forks is Carver Café, which is a diner Charlie liked to eat at regularly. The actual Carver Café is in Oregon, not Washington. However, it’s right off the highway and located only a couple of hours away from Forks. How to spot bioluminescence in Kitsap waterways this August

August’s heat is here, and with 80-degree temperatures lasting well into the evenings, there's no better place to be than on the water.

If the standard water adventures are feeling stale, it might be time to add some novelty to your kayaking and paddle boarding. August is a great month to seek out marine bioluminescence, which — when visible — glows in a blueish-green spatter throughout sheltered areas of Puget Sound and Hood Canal.

Here's a quick background on bioluminescence, along with a couple of tips for hunting it down.

What is bioluminescence?

Bioluminescence refers generally to any light produced and emitted by a chemical reaction inside of a living organism, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Bioluminescence is most prevalent in the ocean and other bodies of salt water. By one estimate, 80% of deep sea organisms bioluminesce.

The deep sea isn't the only place where bioluminescence can be found. Certain species of dinoflagellate phytoplankton dwell near the surface of the water, and respond to perceived threats — such as boats — with sparkling blue bioluminescence.

Other organisms use light to fend off predators, but also to lure prey, attract mates, and communicate. Blue wavelengths of light travel more easily through the water, and as a result, blue or blueish-green bioluminescence is the most commonly visible kind.

While scientists have many theories surrounding bioluminescence's source and functions, most aspects of the eerie marine glow remain a mystery.

What conditions are best for viewing bioluminescence?

According to Malea Isom, a bioluminescence and wildlife naturalist at Olympic Outdoor Center, there are several conditions that determine whether bioluminescence will be visible on a given night.

A calm night with minimal wind is ideal, advised Isom, who studies marine biology at the University of Washington. Aim to start your bioluminescence spotting around 10 or 10:15 p.m., on a night when the moon is not too bright. Excess light — including light pollution from populated areas — can make the bioluminescence harder to see.

Isom also noted that while warmer temperatures are generally favorable for bioluminescence spotters, it's best if the day before was relatively mild. If it's too hot, Isom said, glowing dinoflagellates can sink lower into the water column, or even die off.

But "the biggest factor I'm finding is wind," Isom said.

Isom admitted there are no formal scientific findings confirming her wind theory. But she and her coworkers at Olympic Outdoor Center have found over and over again that minimal wind allows plankton to form a layer on the surface of the water, instead of dispersing to different depths.

Given this, Isom said, bioluminescence hunters will have a better chance of success close to the shore in bays and inlets, rather than on the open water.

"Anything with lake-like conditions," she explained.

Other ways to see bioluminescence

If you're not up for striking out on your own, there are a number of bioluminescent kayaking tours available throughout western Washington, from Seattle to the San Juan Islands. Within Kitsap County, the offerings are limited but significantly cheaper.

In Port Gamble, bioluminescent kayaking tours are available through Olympic Outdoor Center . The company offers full moon and regular tours and takes participants on a two-hour tour of Port Gamble Bay. A number of August dates were available for both tours as of the end of July, and prices ranged from $69.00 to $89.00 per person.

Meanwhile, members of the military, veterans, and their families can join a bioluminescent kayaking tour through Navy Life PNW .

For more information about locations — and to find potential viewing partners — take advantage of the Facebook group for bioluminescence enthusiasts in the Pacific Northwest. Kitsap residents can use the internal search term "Kitsap" to find specific posts referencing the best viewing locations in Kitsap County.

Taylor Swift cancels Vienna shows after two arrested on suspicion of plotting attack

Authorities found explosive devices and Islamic State propaganda in the home of one of the suspects, 19. Swift’s concerts were expected to draw more than 150,000 people.

Taylor Swift canceled three concerts in Vienna after Austrian authorities arrested two people, accusing them of planning attacks on large-scale gatherings — including the singer’s shows — in the European capital. The arrests come amid a string of similar terrorist threats targeting major events in Europe this summer.

The main suspect is a 19-year-old who allegedly pledged allegiance to the Islamic State, authorities said. That suspect was arrested Wednesday in the town of Ternitz.

Omar Haijawi-Pirchner, the head of Austria’s Directorate for Security and Intelligence, said in a news conference Thursday that explosive devices and Islamic State propaganda were discovered in a search of the 19-year-old’s house. In interviews with law enforcement, the man said “he wanted to carry out the attack using explosives and cutting and stabbing weapons,” Haijawi-Pirchner said, adding that the suspect’s aim was “to kill himself and a large crowd at the concert.”

A 17-year-old was also arrested near the Vienna stadium where Swift’s concert was due to take place and was found to be in possession of Islamic State and al-Qaeda materials, but refused to give a statement to authorities, according to Haijawi-Pirchner. In recent days, the teenager had begun working with a company that was supposed to provide services at Swift’s concerts, Haijawi-Pirchner said.

Franz Ruf, the public security director at Austria’s Interior Ministry, said on Wednesday that both suspects were radicalized online. Both had made noticeable changes in their lives in recent weeks, with the 19-year-old leaving his job and the 17-year-old breaking up with his girlfriend, according to Ruf. Both suspects are Austrian citizens, Haijawi-Pirchner said Thursday, without naming them.

Authorities are not looking for other suspects, Haijawi-Pirchner said, though he said that a 15-year-old Austrian citizen was also being questioned by police. Austria’s interior minister, Gerhard Karner, said that a “tragedy” had been prevented.

Swift’s concerts were scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Ernst Happel Stadium and were expected to draw more than 150,000 people across the three nights.

The suspects’ plan was to attack people listening to the concert outside the stadium, an Austrian security official told The Washington Post, speaking on the condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak with the media.

Though Vienna Police Chief Gerhard Purstl said during a Wednesday news conference that security would be increased for the concerts, including police dog units and anti-terror teams, Swift’s official fan Instagram account indicated that all three shows were canceled. The Austrian security official told The Post that Austrian officials had not told concert organizers to cancel the show.

“With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety,” reads a post by Austrian concert promoter Barracuda Music, which Taylor Nation reposted Wednesday. Barracuda Music and Swift’s official website said that ticket holders can expect to receive full refunds within 10 business days. Swift’s publicist did not respond to a request for comment.

Swift’s Eras Tour is the highest-grossing concert tour of all time, and fans have traveled from all over the world to see the singer perform at her European shows. As her remaining U.S. shows boast individual ticket prices over $1,000, some American fans have gone as far as to plan entire summer vacations around Swift’s European tour dates. Taken together, airfare, hotels and a concert ticket in Europe can sometimes cost less than a seat at a show in the United States.

Among those Americans who were set to see Swift abroad are Hunter Cooke and his wife, who had booked a flight to Vienna from Austin. The suspected terror plot derailed those plans, Cooke told The Post.

Cooke, 33, said he and his wife are planning to adopt a child and had planned this vacation as their last “big trip” before moving forward with the adoption process. Prospective parents can receive a foster placement at any time, which makes travel difficult, Cooke explained from the airport. His wife was searching for other flights, in hopes that the couple could still “make a vacation of it,” even if not in Europe.

“We’re out $3,000, and hopefully we’ll get reimbursed, but if that’s the price for not going on a five-day trip where we’re fearing for our lives, then that’s what it is,” Cooke said. “Obviously, it’s not worth dying to see Taylor Swift.”

Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer, in a post on X Wednesday, called the cancellation a “bitter disappointment” for Austrian fans but thanked the country’s emergency services, police forces and foreign intelligence for preventing a “tragedy” and “investigating at full speed.”

At the end of a 2017 Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, a suicide bombing killed 22 people and injured more than 100. An official inquiry last year found that MI5, Britain’s domestic intelligence agency, could have prevented the attack but failed to act quickly enough and missed critical information, the Associated Press reported .

Swift is scheduled to play five nights at London’s Wembley Stadium in the next leg of the tour, with the first show scheduled for Aug. 15.

In a statement released on Thursday, London’s Metropolitan Police said that there was “nothing to indicate that the matters being investigated by the Austrian authorities will have an impact on upcoming events here in London.”

Terror threats have disrupted numerous major events across Europe this year. In March, a grievous attack on Crocus City Hall in Moscow killed at least 137 people and hospitalized over 100 others. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack, and intel assessments largely agreed that Islamic State-Khorasan, the Afghanistan and Pakistan arm of the group, was responsible.

In April, local police increased security for the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden, amid heightened concern over possible attacks. In May, French officials said an 18-year-old man had been arrested for planning an attack on the Olympics in the name of the Islamic State, Reuters reported .

In May, New York state and local police officers said weeks of threats against the Cricket World Cup were tied to ISIS-K , and tightened security as the June India-Pakistan match was reportedly the focus of threats posted to a pro-Islamic State online platform.

Intelligence officials in the United States have warned since at least March that the war in Gaza and fury at U.S. support for Israel could galvanize existing terrorist groups and inspire fresh threats.
