Calling all “lovers and friends” of Hip-Hop and R&B! The nostalgic music festival presented by Usher has just announced its 2023 lineup.

This time around, millennial music lovers can enjoy live sounds from headliners including Mariah Carey , Missy Elliott , Usher, Chris Brown , 50 Cent and more. Returning to Las Vegas on May 6, 2023, the Lovers & Friends Festival will bring out over 45 artists to deliver familiar musical feels, from Christina Aguilera ,  Nelly , Pitbull and Miguel , to Jhene Aiko , Summer Walker , Bryson Tiller , PARTYNEXTDOOR and others.

Starting this Friday (Jan. 20) at 1 p.m. ET, fans can choose from four tiers of tickets including General Admission, GA+, VIP and VIP cabanas on the festival’s official website .

According to a press release obtained by VIBE, VIP packages will start at $565 and include preferred viewing areas, charging stations, a dedicated entry lane at the festival entrance, air-conditioned restrooms and more. The VIP Cabana packages come with exclusive viewing areas that also include food vouchers, select complimentary beverages, expedited entry and more. 

For those who don’t need any extra amenities, general admission tickets start at $250, with option of a layaway plan.

With a huge lineup of the biggest hip-hop and R&B performers, Lovers & Friends will return on May 6, 2023 to the Las Vegas Festival Grounds to celebrate the continued development of the featured genres.

The incredible lineup will feature performances from over 45 artists, including Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, Usher, Christina Aguilera, 50 Cent, Nelly, Pitbull, as well as modern fan favorites Miguel, Jhene Aiko, Summer Walker, Bryson Tiller, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and many more.

Tickets for the general admission, general admission plus, VIP, and VIP Cabana presale go on sale at www.loversandfriendsfest.com on Friday, Jan. 20 at 10 AM PST, and any leftover tickets go on sale to the general public at 2 PM PST on the same day. Payment plans for layaways start at $19.99. Preferential viewing places, charging stations, a designated entry lane at the festival gate, air-conditioned restrooms, and more are all included in VIP packages. There are VIP cabanas with exclusive viewing sections and VIP services, such as meal coupons and some complimentary drinks, accelerated entrance, and more.

2023 Lovers & Friends Festival Fully Leans Into 2000s Nostalgia With Missy Elliott, Usher, Mariah Carey

Lovers & Friends Festival is leaning further into early 2000s nostalgia that TikTok’s fashion influencers for the 2023 iteration of the Las Vegas music event. Scheduled for Saturday, May 6, the festival will feature headlining performances from Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey , and Usher .

Returning for its second year, Lovers & Friends will feature more than 45 artists across a single day. The lineup includes Christina Aguilera , Nelly , Busta Rhymes, Lil Kim, Bow Wow, Omarion, Sean Paul, Remy Ma, JoJo, Jagged Edge, Shaggy, Chingy, Petey Pablo, Dem Franchize Boyz, Yung Joc, Soulja Boy, Eve, Boyz II Men, Flo Rida, Beenie Man, Ginuwine, En Vogue, Da Brat, and more.

Slipping into the 2010s and 2020s, the festival has also tapped Summer Walker, Jhené Aiko, Miguel, PartyNextDoor, and Bryson Tiller.

The 2023 Lovers & Friends Festival lineup has been announced. 

Presented by Usher, the one-day festival will feature performances by R&B acts, including Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, Miguel, Jhené Aiko, Summer Walker, Bryson Tiller, PARTYNEXTDOOR and Usher, among others.

Additional performers outside of R&B include Missy Elliott, Lil Kim, Christina Aguilera, Nelly, 50 Cent, Bow Wow, Busta Rhymes, Sean Paul, Shaggy and more.

The 2023 Lovers & Friends Festival is set for Saturday, May 6, at Las Vegas Festival Grounds in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Presale for tickets begins Friday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. PT. General admission starts at $250, while VIP tickets start at $565. According to the festival’s website , all tickets start at $19.99 down.

Lovers & Friends Festival 2022 was headlined by Usher, Ms. Lauryn Hill and TLC.

“We’re back at it!” Usher wrote in an Instagram caption.

Speaking of the R&B superstar, Usher is set to kick off the third leg of his Las Vegas residency on March 3. He will play 25 shows through July at Dolby Live at Park MGM. Usher: My Way The Vegas Residency  is named after the music legend’s pivotal sophomore album,  My Way , which turned 25 in September 2022. 

Usher celebrated the album’s milestone anniversary with a special edition that includes the original album, plus six bonus tracks — including three reimagined versions of its singles.

In an interview with Rated R&B , Usher reflected on  My Way  25 years later. “I felt like it was a make-or-break moment for me,” said Usher. “I had to believe that I had to at least have an idea of what the journey represented because, in this whole thing, people choose success to represent things or certain milestones. For me, it was always just the journey.”

Festival Canceled

Saturday’s Lovers & Friends Festival at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds has been canceled.  

Lovers & Friends Festival organizers have been monitoring the weather for several days and proactively preparing for a windy Saturday.  However, the National Weather Service has now issued a High Wind Warning, including dangerous 30-35 mph sustained winds with gusts potentially more than 60 mph.  Following advice from the National Weather Service and in consultation with local public officials, we must make the safest decision for our fans, artists, and staff, and cancel tomorrow’s Lovers & Friends Festival.

This was an incredibly heartbreaking decision to make as we are aware that fans have traveled from all over the world to enjoy this incredible lineup of superstars and have been looking forward to this event for several months.  We’ve worked hard to create an amazing event for you, and we are just as disappointed as you are.

Ticket holders who purchased their tickets directly through Front Gate Tickets will receive a refund within 30 days to the original form of payment.  

General Admission

Each General Admission ticket includes admittance to Las Vegas Festival Grounds for Lovers & Friends on May 4, 2024, plus the following:

• Performances all day on multiple stages at Las Vegas Festival Grounds

‘Get Ur Freak On,’ Vegas: Lovers & Friends reveals 2023 lineup

Come May, hip-hop superstar Missy Elliot will hit the stage for her first billed performance since 2019.

Time to “Get Ur Freak On,” Vegas: Come May, hip-hop superstar Missy Elliot will hit the stage for her first billed performance since 2019.

And it’s happening right here: Elliott is one of the headliners of Lovers & Friends, the hit throwback R&B and rap festival returning to the Las Vegas Festival Grounds on May 6 following two sold-out shows at the venue last spring.

The loaded line-up spans over 45 acts, including powerhouse singers Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Jhene Aiko and the members of En Vogue; R&B stars Usher, Chris Brown, Miguel, Boyz II Men and Ginuwine; rappers 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Nelly, Master P & No Limit Soldiers, T.I. and Flo Rida and many more, from contemporary fan favorites (Summer Walker, Bryson Tiller, PARTYNEXTDOOR) to chart-toppers of decades past (Shaggy, Eve, Omarion).

Lovers & Friends debuted in Vegas with capacity crowds in May 2022.

Throughout the festival’s first day, the vibe alternated between raucous and romantic, bombastic and bedroom-bound. Songs that soundtracked many a high school prom slow dance in the ’80s, ’90s and ’00s were aired — as were plenty of gentleman’s club staples during that time span.

The show was postponed for an hour around 10 p.m.while the Metropolitan Police Department investigated a report of gunfire being heard near the festival, a report later deemed “unfounded” by said authorities.

Otherwise, the concert went smoothly despite high temperatures during the day, with dozens of performers on four different stages.

Presale tickets for this year’s fest go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m at www.loversandfriendsfest.com , and any remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning at 2 p.m.

50 Cent, Missy Elliott, And Usher Will Headline Lovers And Friends Festival When It Returns This Spring

Like Aaliyah once said, “If at first, you don’t succeed, you can brush it off and try again.” That seems to be the strategy the Lovers And Friends Festival is going with this spring (you just know Aaliyah herself would have been on the lineup), bringing back the nostalgic event for a second attempt at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds on May 6. Today, the fest announced its millennial-baiting lineup, which features TRL faves like Missy Elliott, 50 Cent, Mariah Carey, and of course, the fest’s inspiration, Usher, whose 2004 hit is the festival’s namesake.

Unfortunately, Lovers And Friends Festival has had a bumpy road so far, starting with its first planned iteration in Carson, California in 2020. Numerous artists on the original lineup initially denied their involvement after the show was announced before their respective booking agents let them know they were on the c/o 2000 fever dream lineup. Once they were confirmed, demand for tickets skyrocketed, prompting the organizers to add a second day before the COVID-19 pandemic put the kibosh on the whole event .

However, a revamped version of the festival came back in 2022, moving to Las Vegas and reverting back to a one-day fest. This turned out to be kind of a bad idea, as logistics for the fest were kind of a mess, leaving fans without shade or water in the 100-plus-degree desert heat (which tends to go the other way at night, leaving fans freezing instead). Then, there were reports of gunfire, causing stampedes and thankfully minor injuries .

Hopefully, they can learn from those mistakes as they return this spring and give fans the show they deserve because as an elder millennial (or Xennial or whatever you call us), I for one am extremely tired of having the rug pulled out from under me. Mariah Carey, Xtina, Missy Elliott To Play Lovers & Friends Fest 2023

Featuring the hip hop and R&B lineup of your dreams.

The inaugural Lovers & Friends music festival was, to put it lightly, almost a disaster. Upon its announcement in February 2020 — with a too-good-to-be-true lineup boasting TLC, Usher, and Ms. Lauryn Hill as headliners — several artists took to the internet to claim they hadn’t actually signed on to be apart of it, stoking rumors of a Fyre Fest 2.0 . When that was all eventually smoothed over, the festival was unceremoniously cancelled by, well, you already know by now. Against all odds, the R&B nostalgia extravaganza finally happened in 2022 (with a second date added by popular demand, no less), and now the Lovers & Friends festival is returning for round two.

On Jan. 17, the “Usher presents” festival unveiled its 2023 lineup that’s even bigger and better than the last, incredibly enough. Missy Elliot, Usher, and Mariah Carey are this year’s headliners alongside a lower bill that’s star-studded enough to make-up its own festival including Pitbull, Christina Aguilera, 50 Cent, Miguel, Nelly, Boyz II Men, Summer Walker, Lil Kim, Eve, Da Brat, and many others.

The 2023 event takes place once again in May, once again in Las Vegas, and is once again one day only (for now). Tickets are sure to sell out, so scroll on to find out everything you need to know about attending including the full lineup, exact date, and how to score passes.

Who’s playing Lovers & Friends 2023?

Missy Elliot, Usher, and Mariah Carey are the three headliners of the festival (despite the poster’s slightly confusing formatting). Pitbull, Christina Aguilera, Chris Brown, 50 Cent, Miguel, Nelly, Boyz II Men, Summer Walker, Jhené Aiko, Bryson Tiller, Bryson Tiller, Lil Kim, Eve, Da Brat, and many more will also perform, making for a spectacular top-to-bottom bill.

In total, over 45 artists will grace the stages of the festival’s one-day event, with many heavy hitters making rare performances like Missy Elliott, who will make her first billed performance since 2019.

Registration to access the festival’s presale is open now . The presale kicks off Friday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. Any remaining tickets will go to general onsale starting at 2 p.m. PST/5 p.m. ET on the same day.

GA passes start at $250, GA+ at $465, and VIP at $565. VIP Cabana and hotel and ticket packages are also available.
