Ayodhya Sightseeing Tour

Are you planning an Ayodhya sightseeing tour anytime soon? Here are some of the must-visit temples and historically significant locations in Ayodhya. These attractions can also be included in the itinerary while planning a Varanasi Ayodhya tour package.

Ayodhya Ram Mandir : The revered Ayodhya Temple of Rama Lalla (infant Lord Rama) is a must-visit destination for anyone booking an Ayodhya tour package. The Ayodhya New Temple is located on the holy grounds of Rama Janmabhoomi , which is said to be the birthplace of Lord Rama. The temple is easy to reach as the distance between the Ram Mandir and railway station is less than 1 km.

Kanak Bhavan : The Kanak Bhavan is another important destination tourists should include in their Ayodhya sightseeing tour. The temple stays open throughout the year and is said to be a gift to Devi Sita after her marriage to Lord Rama. This temple is another must-visit for tourists booking an Ayodhya tour package.

Nageshwarnath Temple : The Nageshwarnath Temple of Ayodhya is renowned for its historic and cultural significance. It is believed to have been constructed by Kush, the son of Lord Rama. He dedicated the landmark to a Nag-Kanya, who was a devotee of Lord Shiva.

Tulsi Smarak : Dedicated to the great poet Tulsidas, the Tulsi Smarak Museum is a great place to include in an Ayodhya tour package. The museum is just 4 minutes away from the Ayodhya Rama Mandir. Pilgrims on an Ayodhya Darshan can visit the museum to see the famous Ram Leela performance from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.

Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Ayodhya

Ram janmabhoomi temple, ayodhya: a journey through history and faith.

The Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, currently under construction in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India, is more than just a place of worship. It represents a deeply complex and contested history, intertwined with faith, politics, and social fabric. Understanding its significance requires delving into its intricate past and ongoing development.

A Contested Legacy:

The site where the temple stands holds immense significance for Hindus. They believe it to be the birthplace of Lord Rama, a revered deity in their pantheon and the central figure in the epic Ramayana. However, the historical narrative is layered. In the 16th century, the Mughal emperor Babur commissioned the construction of the Babri Masjid on the same site. This mosque served as a place of worship for the Muslim community for centuries.

Escalating Tensions:

In 1949, idols of Rama and Sita were placed inside the Babri Masjid, sparking a long-standing dispute about the ownership of the land. This dispute escalated over decades, culminating in the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992 by Hindu activists. This act of violence triggered widespread communal riots across India, leaving deep scars on the nation's social fabric.

Seeking Resolution:

The decades following the demolition saw legal battles and attempts to find a peaceful resolution. Finally, in 2019, the Supreme Court of India ruled in favor of the construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on the disputed land. This verdict paved the way for the establishment of the temple while also mandating the allocation of a separate site for the construction of a mosque.

A Monumental Project:

The construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple began in 2020 and is expected to be completed in phases. The grand temple is being built using pink sandstone and will incorporate traditional Hindu architectural elements. The sanctum sanctorum, standing 50 feet tall, will house the idol of Lord Rama. The sprawling complex will also encompass a Ramayana museum, a library, a dharamshala, and other facilities.

Beyond Bricks and Mortar:

The Ram Janmabhoomi Temple transcends its physical structure. It represents the culmination of a long and arduous journey for many Hindus who see it as a symbol of their faith and cultural heritage. The temple's construction is expected to foster a sense of unity and pride within the community, while also serving as a pilgrimage site for millions of devotees.

A Call for Understanding:

However, the sensitive history surrounding the site necessitates a nuanced understanding. The construction of the temple, while a significant development for Hindus, should not overshadow the need for interfaith dialogue and reconciliation. It is crucial to acknowledge the complexities of the past and work towards building a future based on mutual respect and understanding.

The Ram Janmabhoomi Temple stands as a testament to the enduring power of faith and the challenges of navigating contested narratives. It serves as a reminder of the importance of fostering dialogue, tolerance, and respect for diverse perspectives in a pluralistic society.

Yogi Adityanath orders reactivation of Anti-Romeo squads in Uttar Pradesh

  • UP Chief Minister orders reactivation of it
  • Adityanath directs police stations to display list of top 10 criminals

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday instructed the reactivation of the Anti-Romeo Squad teams.

He also directed the local officials to display the list of top 10 criminals in the district in police stations.

During his one-day visit to Ambedkar Nagar following a two-day tour of Ayodhya, the chief minister held a review meeting on development work and law and order in the district.

Emphasising the need to maintain a fear-free environment, Adityanath highlighted that safety of women should be a top priority. He directed the district-level officers to ensure public hearings and communication.

Later, while holding a meeting with officials and public representatives of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here, the chief minister said, "Upcoming election is a contest between the BJP's development agenda and the opposition's destructive propaganda."

Byelections are to be held on 10 assembly seats across the state. The schedule for the polls have not been declared yet.

According to a press statement, Adityanath highlighted the opposition's tactics of dividing the society along caste lines and spreading false rumours, similar to the one witnessed in the recent Lok Sabha elections.

"Opposition might use social media and other platforms to mislead the public during the byelections," he said.

To counter this, the chief minister urged the BJP functionaries and representatives to actively engage with the community and dispel the opposition's misinformation from every platform. He said the party officials and public representatives should go among the people and communicate with them.

Adityanath highlighted that the government is running development schemes benefiting all sections of the society and urged the party workers to communicate these achievements to the public.

"The party workers should respond to the politics of misleading being done by the opposition. For this, the officials will have to remain active. The opposition has deceived the public in the Lok Sabha elections," he added.
