Thekkady to Alleppey Houseboat

Morning leave for Alleppey to enjoy a boat cruise tour in Alleppey Houseboat. Rest of the day at leisure on the House Boat which is world's major tourist attraction. Sit back and relax while the boat cruises through the narrow serene backwater canals of Alleppey. We can see here in breathing green, the village slumbers by the Vembanad Lake. On cruise scenery flashes up vivid contrasts of lush green and deep blues. As the boat glider along the gorgeous green of the fringed palms the ripples in the blue water blend in to little wavelets. Lunch, Evening Tea/ Coffee with snacks, dinner all are provided inside the houseboat. Overnight stay will provide on House Boat. Note: • The cruise commences at 1230 hrs with lunch served on board and continues till dusk. At dusk the boat will anchor in a wide waterway or lake for the night (The backwaters close to boat traffic at dusk as the fisherman lay their nets in the backwaters. Other boats are not allowed to ply in the backwaters after dusk. On the following day the cruise commences again after breakfast and the guest will be dropped at Alleppey by 0900Hrs. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 01 COCHIN – MUNNAR

Arrive at Cochin airport/railway station, greetings and airport assistance, Transfer to Munnar. Munnar, the picturesque hill station in India is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams – Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. Sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, trekking and holiday facilities make this destination a popular resort town. Munnar is home to Nilgiri Tahrs, an endangered species of wild goat. On the way experience a plantation tour. On arrival, check in to the hotel with the rest of the day to spend as you please- either relaxing or exploring Tea City. Overnight at the Hotel in Munnar.

DAY 02MUNNAR

You will be taken for a sightseeing tour of Munnar. A sightseeing tour around Munnar takes one to tea gardens where picturesque colonial towns and meandering mountain streams present photo opportunities galore. You will be taken for a visit to Rajamalai where you can watch Nilgiri Tahrs in their natural habitat. You will also be visiting the nearby Mattuppetty Dam, Kundala Lake, Echo Point, and Blossom Park. If interested you can go boating in the lake (optional) or visit a Tea Factory (optional). Later scroll at the local market. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 03 MUNNAR – THEKKADY

After breakfast, drive to Thekkady. The very sound of the word Thekkady conjures up images of elephants, unending chains of hills and spice-scented plantations. The Periyar forest of Thekkady is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India and spread across the entire district are picturesque plantations and hill towns that hold great opportunities for treks and mountain walks.

On arrival check in to the hotel. After that, you can have an elephant ride if interested (optional). Afternoon enjoy the boating at Periyar Lake. Evening you can have any of the cultural shows of your choice like kathakali, kalaripayattu ( martial arts ) etc (optional). Overnight at a resort/hotel in Thekkady.

DAY 04 THEKKADY- ALLEPPEY

After breakfast, transfer to Alleppey. Check in the hotel. With the Arabian Sea in the west and a vast network of Lakes, Lagoons and freshwater rivers crisscrossing it, Alappuzha is a district with immense natural beauty. Referred to as the Venice of the East by travellers from across the world. Today, Alappuzha is an important backwater destination attracting several thousand foreign tourists every year. Alappuzha is also famous for its boat races, beaches, marine products and coir industry. Evening you will be taken to the nearby beach where you can have the beach experience and sunset. Overnight at the hotel in Alleppey.

Optional – You can either take an evening shikhara cruise or a morning cruise the next day.

DAY 05 DEPARTURE TO COCHIN AIRPORT/RAILWAY STATION

Morning, after breakfast, check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport/railway station to catch a flight/train towards onward journey.

Munnar sightseeing continues

On third day of Munnar we will be exploring more places of Munnar.
After breakfast start for the sightseeing which includes Lockheart view point,Lakkam waterfall, Marayuur sandelwood forest and Chinnar wild life sanctuary.
Check into the hotel and take rest.

Munnar to Thekkady

Suggest to start by 9am as Munnar to Thekkady drive will take 3-4 hours.
On reaching Thekkady, you may go for boating in Periyar Lake to watch the Periyar wild life sanctuary (Tickets can be either booked in advance or purchased from the counter).
In the evening, you can enjoy optional activities like Kathakali, Elephant ride, Elephant bath, Musical fountain, and Ayurveda massages on direct payment basis.

Thekkady to Alleppey Houseboat

The drive from Thekkady to Alleppey would take 4 hrs.
Hence suggest starting by 8 am to board the houseboat by 12 – 1 pm.
Houseboat will be stopped for lunch for 1hrs with the cruise till 5:30 pm.
The boat will be anchored till the next day morning,with a 1-hour cruise in the morning for check out at 9 am.
There are different categories of houseboats available like Deluxe, Premium, and Luxury, where Deluxe is the basic boat.
In the houseboat, you will be greeted with a welcome drink, tea, snacks, mineral water, lunch, dinner, and breakfast.

Alleppey to Cochin drop

Visit Alleppey beach and drop at Cochin.
Subject to availability of time, we provide complimentary Cochin sightseeing covering fort Cochin, the Navy Museum, St Francis Church, the Chinese Fishing Net, Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica, Mattanchery Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Marine Drive, Marine Walkway, boating, Tripunithura Hill Palace.
If interested, can go for a shopping at Cochin.
Our representative will drop you at Cochin Airport/Railway station/Bus stand and will extend necessary support required there.

Day 01: Arrival at Cochin Your tour across the scenic Kerala begins at Cochin. Once you arrive at the airport or railway station, our executives will come and take you to your pre-booked hotel. Once you reach the hotel, freshen up and sip a cup of coffee or tea. You can then head out to the nearby destinations for shopping.
Day 02:Towards the hills, Munnar (4 hours/16 minutes, 132.6 km) After a sumptuous break, you head out for sightseeing across the city of Cochin. You will be taken through the remnants at Fort Kochi. You will also be taken to Marine drive and the famous museums here. Once you are done sightseeing in Cochin, our executives will drive you to Munnar. The temperature drops down as you near Munnar. Once you arrive here, head inside your cozy hotel room and rest for the night.
Day 03 :Across the scenic hills in Munnar One of the principle attractions of Munnar Neelakurinji (Strobilanthes kunthiana) is a bush that used to develop richly in the shola prairies of Western Ghats in India. The Nilgiris, which truly implies the blue mountains, got its name from the purplish blue blooms of Neelakurinji that blooms gregariously once in 12 years. Furthermore, the other fascination in Munnar is The Nilgiri Tahr. The Nilgiri Tahrs are stocky goats. Besides these, in Munnar you will also get the chance to trail through the lush green tea plantations. You can then head back to the hotel for the night.
Day 04 :Towards the wild in Thekkady (3 hour, 11 minutes/ 91.5km) After a sumptuous breakfast in the hotel, you will be heading to the wild destination in Kerala, Thekkady. At Thekkady, you will be mainly spending time the Periyar Nationa Reserve which is one of the most popular destination. Here, you will get the chance to partake in boating and spot different forms of wildlife. On this day you will be spending the night in a homestay close to the national reserve.
Day 05 :To the backwater destination, Alleppey (3 hours, 52 minutes, 137 km) After breakfast in the wild, today you head to beautiful Alleppey. Once you arrive at Alleppey, you can directly head to the houseboat, where you will be staying for the night. The houseboats are the main attractions of Alleppey, you get the chance to cruise through the backwaters as you leisurely rest in the houseboat.
Day 06 :Back to Cochin (1 hour, 19 minutes, 53.0 km) On day 6, your tour comes to an end. After some great breakfast in the houseboat, you checkout and head back to Cochin. Our executives will then drop you to the airport or railway station. With umpteen memories, we part our ways.

Day 01: Arrive Cochin, Drive to Munnar

You will be welcomed and joined by our executive upon your arrival at the Cochin airport/ Railway station. You will then head on to Munnar which is approximately a 4 hour drive from Cochin. The winding roads up the hill, the changing scenery, the air gradually turning crisp and the slow drop in temperature should let you know that the beautiful experience you were looking for has just begun. Arrive at Munnar and check into the resort. Later in the evening, visit Tea Museum. Learn how tea is processed from raw fresh tea leaves to its final packaging. You can also visit Munnar town and shop for spices and handmade chocolates. Overnight stay at Munnar.

Day 02: Munnar Day Tour

After breakfast we take you on a full day sightseeing trip of Munnar, the tea town of Kerala. The sprawling tea gardens are sure to take your breath away. We visit the Eravikulam National Park to get a glimpse of the Nilagiri Thar. The soft trek up the hill in the middle of the park will be worth your while. We then proceed to visit Mattuppetty Dam, Eco Point, Kundala Lake, Blossom Garden, Pothenmedu View point and Top station. Overnight at the resort.

Day 03: Munnar to Thekkady

On the next morning, we drive to Thekkady covering a distance of 110kms / 4 hrs amidst the cardamom hills flanking the road with the occasional waterfalls. After checking into the resort at Thekkady and having lunch, you can proceed to take a boat ride on the lake and the Periyar dam. During the boat ride that will take approximate 2 hours you can get rare glimpses of wild animals such as elephants, deer and rare birds. The forest department also offers many programs including Periyar tiger trail, nature walk, bamboo rafting, etc. which you can take part in. Overnight stay at Thekkady resort.

Day 04: Thekkady to Alleppey

After breakfast we set out on an early start to Alleppey. The drive is approximately 5 hour long, covering a distance of around 160kms. The Venice of the East will welcome you with its serene backwaters and mouth watering cuisine. You can board your houseboat by around 1pm. Sit back and relax while the boat cruises through the narrow canals of the Vembanad lake. Explore the scenic backwaters while passing through lagoons, canals, lakes, rivers and inlets. See the traditional villages and coconut groves from the deck of the boat. After 6pm the houseboat will drop anchor for the day. Enjoy your stay on the houseboat with twinkling stars above and the tranquil waters beneath.

Day 05: Departure from Cochin

The houseboat will start cruising again at 8 am and drop you at Alleppey jetty at 9 am. You will then proceed to Cochin. You will say good bye to Kerala, but we promise, you will do so with a heavy heart and with a promise to return back soon.
