Christmas Cruise Thru in Hicksville, Ohio transforms the Defiance County Fairgrounds into the largest holiday light show in Ohio (and the tri-state area) during the holiday season. Here's why this is one of the best holiday lights in Ohio that belongs on your holiday bucket list:
Welcome to the Christmas Cruise Thru, a magical drive-thru show of Ohio holiday lights that features more than 2.5 miles of outdoor displays and 3 million lights.
You'll find it along South Main Street in Hicksville, Ohio at the Defiance County Fairgrounds.
Along your journey, you'll pass through several light tunnels that make the show especially fun.
Note: Admission to this enchanting light show is a Goodwill monetary donation.
The Christmas Cruise Thru runs nightly from Nov. 20, 2023, through Dec. 24, 2023, and shows are from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
On select nights, there are also carriage rides, visits with Santa, live entertainment, indoor crafters, and so much more. Additionally, an ice skating rink will be open on Thursdays through Sundays from 6 p.m. until 9. p.m. between the dates Nov. 23 and Dec. 23, 2023.
Here, you'll see some pretty unique displays, such as illuminated tractors...
There's even a fireworks display in the middle of the track that will take place on the second Sunday in December.
...and sparkling carnival rides. Kids will especially love pointing out the whimsical scenes.

The largest festival of its kind in the U.S. is a celebration of paddlesports and the mighty Ohio River. An estimated 2,000+ participants will paddle their way through downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky in canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards, a spectacle that you won't want to miss. So whether you're paddling or just observing, you're bound to enjoy this exciting summer celebration. Let's take a look at this bucket-list summer event in Ohio!
Scheduled for the first Saturday in August, the largest paddling festival in the country is one of the most exciting summer events in Ohio.
Bring your SUP, kayak, canoe, tandem, or prone to participate.
Join thousands of paddle enthusiasts as you make your way down a closed course through Downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
Participants can choose two distances: a 4.5-mile course or the full 9-mile course one each for youth and adults.

And racers will be a part of the nation's largest paddling celebration, leading some 2,000 paddlers down a closed course on the Ohio River, passing through downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

In fact, you can even opt to camp out by the river the night before the big celebration.

We think it's awesome that all proceeds from the Ohio River Paddlesfest support Adventure Crew and its work bringing outdoor recreation to thousands of teens.

The fairgrounds located in Hicksville Ohio is transformed into a magnificent explosion of Christmas Lights and imagination. Over 2.5 miles of displays with exciting surprises around every corner. From the comfort of your vehicle, you will enjoy over 3 million brilliant LED or RGB Light configurations. This year’s festivities will begin with a Walk, Bike, Cart event on November 27 from 6-9pm (Rain or Shine). This event is a goodwill offering. No motor vehicles will be admitted, only walkers, bike riders & golf carts. Then the very next night begins 25 GLORIOUS nights of Family Friendly Entertainment. Nov 28 – Dec 29 6-9pm, you can enjoy the beautiful cruise thru from the comfort and warmth of your vehicle. Every Friday – Sunday (Nov 29 – Dec 22) from 6-9pm you and your family can enjoy Christmas Music while Ice Skating in a beautiful outdoor setting with lights and decorations all around you.
