Vote up the Warped Tour lineups that make you wish you had front-row seats.

Warped Tour is one of the biggest names in the concert canon. Those who haven't gone want to and those who have gone wait for the day they can go again. For a majority of its run, it was the largest traveling music festival in the United States. A number of past Warped Tour lineups have been impressive, but which year was the best? Help decide below!

Starting as an eclectic alternative rock festival in 1995 and gradually morphing into a punk rock festival by the next year, the tour gained momentum when Vans, the wildly popular shoe manufacturer, was signed on as the tour's main sponsor in 1996. As Warped Tour became increasingly popular with each passing year, more sponsors signed on, slowly growing the tour's scope of influence. Sadly, 2018 proved to be the final year of the famous tour as announced by Warped Tour's founder, Kevin Lyman.

You'll find every Warped Tour lineup here! Vote below on the best Warped Tour lineups, keeping in mind factors like the bands performing, production value, and overall spectacle. If you're an avid concert-goer, you can also check out this list of the best Coachella lineups ! (Disclaimer - some years certain dates had slightly different lineups).

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Over 20 years, countless bands have played parking lots to amphitheaters on the Vans Warped Tour.

For much of that time, Warped has carried the torch for traveling rock festivals. Though, all good things must come to an end.

In honor of this year being the final for the Warped Tour, we look at the 75 acts that made it so hard to say goodbye.

1. Paramore

Paramore is a Warped Tour success story. The band started at the small female-fronted Shiragirl stage in 2005 with its first-ever tour and grew to become one of the biggest headliners in its subsequent five Warped Tour performances.

Paramore’s sound has undoubtedly changed over the years, but some of its most iconic releases (2005’s “All We Know Is Falling,” 2007’s “Riot!” and 2009’s “Brand New Eyes”) all arrive during the band’s punky Warped Tour years.

3. Blink-182

There is no band more responsible for the popularity of the music featured year after year on the Warped Tour than Blink-182. The band only played the tour four times, but you could find copycat on the bill every year that followed.

6. Less Than Jake

Although Less Than Jake has performed at Warped Tour 10 times, nothing can tire out the ska-punk band. With colorful outfits, inflatable balls and boundless energy, Less Than Jake has always had a ton of fun on the summer tour.

Sum 41 has a unique Warped Tour. At its peak, the band was one of the most popular acts on the tour. Then things fell apart. But Sum 41's comeback has been staged on the tour the past few years, which has been great to see.

These Traveling Rock Tours Are Filling the Warped Void

This summer touring festivals are making a strong return after the end of the Vans Warped Tour left a hole in the punk and emo scene.

This summer, touring festivals are making a strong return after the end of the Vans Warped Tour left a hole in the punk and emo scene. With only a handful of 25 th anniversary dates scheduled for the Warped Tour, festivals including Live Nation and SGE’s Disrupt Festival and indie emo fest Sad Summer have stepped in to fill the void left by one of the last remaining touring festivals.

“Growing up, my summer was based around when the Warped Tour date was. It was the most exciting part of the summer,” says Bert McCracken of The Used , who will headline Disrupt Festival and perform at Warped’s 25 th anniversary shows. “With the departure of Warped Tour last summer as a full summer tour, there has been a lot of talk about what’s gonna be the tour to replace it. I think it is going to be a lot of different things but Disrupt in particular is along the same lines of where that punk rock attitude came from.”

SGE founder and CEO  John Reese worked with Disrupt headliners The Used,  Thrice and  Circa Survive to build roaming rock festival that will hit 25 cities throughout the summer between June 18 and July 28. The festival will feature a varying lineup of rock and punk bands much like Warped, but with more of the amenities festivalgoers have come to expect in 2019.

Sad Summer Touring Festival Reveals Dates with Mayday Parade, The Maine and More

“At Disrupt, they are going to see big video. They are going to be inside the amphitheaters and not in a parking lot,” says Reese. “No disrespect to Warped Tour. [Warped founder] Kevin Lyman ’s a legend and the Warped tour was legendary. But this is a bit of a different take on that. These are all Warped Tour veteran bands, but now they are going to be able to play at night on a big stage with production and video.”

Sad Summer promises to be a day full of music with a single stage with headliners State Champs , Mayday Parade , The Maine and The Wonder Years and a rotating roster of supporting bands.

“It will be one full stage of a full day of music instead of three or four stages of bands playing all over the place and that helps you cut down on costs like catering and local crew and stuff like that,” says Sad Summer co-founder Josh Terry , who explains that touring festivals can incur more traveling costs than one-off festivals.

Sad Summer’s 17-city trek will run from July 5 and close out on Aug. 3 at the City National Grove in Anaheim, Calif.

“It was really advantageous what Warped Tour was able to do for all those years building out parking lots and having multiple stages,” adds Terry. “It definitely saves us on cost not to have to travel with multiple semis of staging.”

Both Disrupt and Sad Summer will take their tours to established venues from outdoor stages to amphitheaters.

“If you are doing a tour, you really need to go to already built venues. If you want something to play four or five or six days a week, you really need to go to already built venues,” says Reese. “Otherwise you’d have to have four production teams. That’s cost prohibitive on many levels.”

“Warped Tour had its amazing run, but I think what is cool about Disrupt is that we are putting it in atmospheres won’t create strenuous human conditions,” says McCracken. “It is in nice amphitheaters where everyone can kind of lounge out or you can kick it in the parking lot with the bands playing there. It is the best of both worlds.”

Stepping away from the DIY spirit of Warped, Sad Summer will feature various food trucks with curated options and Disrupt will welcome pop-up activations to keep kids busy for the day-long event.

“What we want to do at SGE is create these really immersive events that are at a fair price where people can go spend a day, see a bunch of great acts and do a bunch of fun things,” says Reese.

“Our intent is to build something that has lasting power and that bands want to do year after year,” says Terry. “We can find the next up and coming bands that we want to see emerge on the scene and get a stage to prop them up on.”

The niche touring festivals not only serve as a summer past time, but help grow a community of artists that are trying to bolster their fanbase.

Warped Tour to Hit the Road For Final Trek in 2018: Exclusive Interview With Founder Kevin Lyman

“The headliners could go out and probably make more money on their own playing theaters or clubs, but together we thought if we do this right, it is going to create a new space for all these bands to have something that’s protected over the summer and also get them in front of more kids than they can get to on their own,” says Terry. “The intent was not to make this about money, but to make something good for the scene that can hopefully last year after year.”

“The Used could go and do a headlining tour that could be a lot more beneficial for the capital gains aspect of touring, but that has never really been our goal. We want to build something that is special and important to us,” says McCraken of Disrupt festival. “We want to be a part of something that is ongoing that creates a positive creative energy for kids to get to know themselves.”

Summer School tours the country channeling the pop-punk spirit of the Warped Tour

In 1995, former Goldenvoice exec Kevin Lyman changed the modern tour landscape by infusing Southern California punk rock with skateboarding and X Games culture to create the Warped Tour. The fest became one of the longest-running summer tours in history (it wrapped in 2019) and provided the stage for bands like Sublime, No Doubt, Blink-182, My Chemical Romance, Something Corporate, Fall Out Boy, Paramore and many more to break into the mainstream. On any given day, the festival’s lineup was shuffled, and fans had to arrive early to ensure they saw their favorite artist.

Though Lyman stepped away from that scene in recent years (he‘s currently an associate professor at USC‘s Thornton School of Music), he felt the time was right to bring back a new version of what had worked so well — with a twist. Lyman along with Eric Tobin of Hopeless Records and Mike Kaminsky of KMGMT (who also teaches at USC) are pushing the spirit of Warped forward.

Tobin and Kaminsky have been involved with the Warped Tour in various capacities over the years and understood the festival’s ethos. They’ve also worked together as Hopeless signed KMGMT’s artists over the years. When the pair first conceived the idea of Summer School, they wanted to bring an experience outside of the commercialized festivals that dominate the current landscape.

“The conversation that started between Mike and me was how do we create something like Warped with it being gone?” Tobin says. “The conversation was that maybe we should try this branded idea again and start from scratch.”

“We weren’t sitting around going, ‘What the world needs now is another festival tour,’” Kaminsky says. “When Kevin retired Warped, Eric and I were wondering, ‘Where are these developing bands going?’ We’re all hitting a glass ceiling. After COVID, we had all these bands that were streaming like crazy. They’re going viral and there’s all this interest in them. But there’s nowhere to put them on tour.”

Lyman, who is still tapped into the promoter and sponsorship world, saw there was a demand for this type of tour. He quickly discovered that no one had brought this type of festival idea since Warped concluded and they realized that their idea could work. But Lyman initially pushed Tobin and Kaminsky off of starting a festival because he felt the timing wasn’t right. Last September, that changed.

Kiara Vaziri

“They didn’t want to replace Warped Tour but develop up-and-coming acts,” Lyman says. “There hasn’t been a lot of developers out there. We’ve had to reengage the younger fans in live events since there were several years that kids didn’t go to live shows. We had to give this a shot. Summer School was a great name for this event. Basic is the best.”

With Lyman working as a mentor and Kaminsky and Tobin as curators, the trio created a tour focused on a lineup comprising independent artists on independent labels, all while working with independent promoters. Summer School’s founders also kept what they call an affordable ticket price by using sponsorship money to cover most costs. In some markets, the price is $35, which is a bargain compared with mainstream fests that cost, at minimum, hundreds of dollars.

The spirit of the Warped Tour is still prominent, but unlike the parking lots and festival grounds it invaded over the years, Summer School takes place indoors.

“With the size of the rooms, we wanted to keep this contained, and it’s too hot outside,” Tobin says (a notion Kaminsky agrees with). “A lot of artists and fans were like, let’s do this first year in a place that we can control the experience and make it feel packed out.”

Many of the artists who are on the bill haven’t played in several-thousand-person-capacity rooms. Summer School allows them to get their metaphorical sea legs in front of a supportive audience.

The success has been in the engagement. Merch sales have steadily grown and the artists noticed that they’ve been gaining new fans after every show.

“This tour has introduced us to more new listeners than we’ve experienced,” Devin Papadol of Honey Revenge says. “Not only have the crowds been incredible, but we get to perform alongside our friends every night. Summer School is filling a void in the scene that’s been missing. We’re so thankful to be a part of this special live music environment.”

“The Summer School tour has been such a refreshing start to our touring year,” Bonnie Fraser of Stand Atlantic says. “We had such a big amount of time off, for us anyway, and being able to kick-start our year with Summer School has brought us back to why we love what we do and why we started doing it.”

For Fraser, the festival is reminiscent of an era where festivals felt more intentional in the booking and less about business. “We as a band are proud to be a part of something bigger and thoughtfully put together with genuine intentions other than just another slapped together touring package everyone has seen 100 times over.”

The band Worcester performs during Summer School

Just like Warped, the lineup shuffles day to day, which not only the bands support but the founders say judging by the filled rooms at the beginning of the day, the attendees do as well.

“So much is about the vibe and the community,” Kaminsky says. That was part of the guiding spirit that made Warped a summer fixture for 25 years. It has translated to the bands as well. On their social media platforms, the bands can be seen sharing photos and videos of group hangs and behind-the-scenes footage of what’s been going on.

Despite the larger promoters always lingering in the background, Summer School has a punk rock mentality of staying small and happy to remain at its size while focusing on artist development, with the hope that the artists on the tour will return to the same venues to headline them on their own.

“If everything’s great, we can catapult bands up to go to bigger festivals and get paid way more money,” Kaminsky says. “That’s not the space we’re trying to compete in.”

“What this community has always been about is cultural currency more than it’s been about the hits,” Tobin says. “It’s a left-of-center kid that’s looking for identity, and you can get to go to that show and hit that barricade. The idea of being another piece of that ongoing legacy and creating a new generation for it. The bigger it is, the better it is for everybody.”

Summer School wraps on Aug. 17 at City National Grove in Anaheim, and the planning for Year 2 has already begun. Despite not taking a salary for this year’s tour, Kaminsky and Tobin are excited to see the tour grow.

Pop punk band Magnolia Park performs at Summer School

“It’s been really rewarding, not just for us, but for the managers, the agents and the artists,” says Kaminsky. “The most rewarding part is working with really good people that we really love and share mutual respect. And I think these days, that’s sometimes harder to come by.”

What’s Up With Linkin Park’s New Singer?

Portrait of Justin Curto

In the end, it wasn’t actually the end for Linkin Park . The rock band is back with new music for the first time in seven years — and a new singer as well. Emily Armstrong joined the band , replacing the late Chester Bennington , who died in 2017. Armstrong has sung in the band Dead Sara since 2005 and makes her Linkin Park debut on new single “The Emptiness Machine,” sharing vocal duties with Linkin Park co-founder Mike Shinoda. (Colin Brittain is also joining Linkin Park as their new drummer with Rob Bourdon not returning.) She joined the band onstage for the first time September 5 and will feature on their new album, From Zero , out November 15. But Armstrong’s addition has already been controversial, as fans scrutinize her history with Scientology and convicted rapist Danny Masterson.

Who is Emily Armstrong, anyway?

Armstrong has been playing music for over 20 years, forming her band Dead Sara with guitarist Siouxsie Medley in the early aughts. The band released its first EP in 2008 but didn’t break out until 2012, when they independently released a self-titled debut album and their single “Weatherman” cracked the rock and alternative charts. Maybe you remember them from Warped Tour 2012 or season four of Vampire Diaries ? Dead Sara has since released two more albums: Pleasure to Meet You in 2015 and Ain’t It Tragic in 2021. More recently, they featured on Demi Lovato’s song “Help Me” off Holy Fvck and opened for her corresponding tour.

Armstrong had a lot of respect in the rock world before joining Linkin Park. She sang on Courtney Love’s 2010 album, Nobody’s Daughter , and has been praised by Jefferson Airplane’s Grace Slick and Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl. And she’s a Linkin Park fan: She told Billboard she especially loved the band’s 2000 album, Hybrid Theory, when it came out and the song “One Step Closer.”

Why did Linkin Park add a new singer?

After Bennington’s death in 2017, Linkin Park went on hiatus, only performing publicly for a tribute concert. In the years that followed, Shinoda and the band went back and forth publicly about the future of Linkin Park. “I’m unable to say what will happen with the band,” Shinoda told Vulture in 2018 . The band’s members soon started spending time together again afterward but didn’t intend to make another album. “I would float the idea of getting together, [we’d] get together and it was fun, but there wasn’t any creative momentum,” Shinoda told Billboard .

Linkin Park invited Armstrong to Shinoda’s studio for “maybe three” days in 2019, she said, but she hadn’t joined the band. A few years later, Shinoda started working with her again, along with some other singers. Once Linkin Park started booking shows, Shinoda began wondering how to handle vocals. “Am I going to be carrying a bunch of vocals?” he told Apple Music. “Are we going to have another vocalist? Are we going to have multiple vocalists onstage?” He said the band considered making Armstrong a featured artist, before inviting her to be a member. “When I started to hear Emily’s voice on things, my brain, it was like the first time that my brain would accept it as a Linkin Park song,” Shinoda said. And yes, she can scream — the band’s DJ, Joe Hahn, said the first time Shinoda asked Armstrong to scream, “for me, that did it.”

But uh, is Armstrong a Scientologist?

That’s the big question! Armstrong has never publicly identified with the Church of Scientology, though she did attend a gala in 2013. More recently, Armstrong supported actor and prominent Scientologist Danny Masterson at his 2020 rape trial, where he was convicted on two counts.

How have people responded to Armstrong joining the band?

Masterson accuser Chrissie Carnell-Bixler and her husband, Mars Volta singer Cedric Bixler-Zavala — both former Scientologists — each spoke out against Armstrong after she joined the band. Carnell-Bixler called Armstrong “a hardcore Scientologist who supported convicted serial rapist both in and out of court” on her Instagram Story. (Carnell-Bixler’s specific accusation resulted in a hung jury.) “Emily Armstrong is a true believer of the Scientology cult/criminal organization that engages in human and child trafficking, child and elder abuse, the cover ups of countless SAs [sexual assaults] on children and adults,” she continued. Bixler-Zavala, meanwhile, reposted a comment he’d previously left on Dead Sara’s Instagram about Armstrong’s support of Masterson. “Remember Emily? Remember how your fellow scientologist goon squad surrounded one of the Jane Doe’s when she was trying to leave the elevators?” he wrote. “The court sheriffs had to escort her away from your awful cult…” He also called Armstrong “a born in Scientologist” and called her “corny ass” multiple times. Bixler-Zavala since deleted the Instagram Story, but Carnell-Bixler still has his comment up.

Meanwhile, many Linkin Park fans online quickly expressed dismay at Armstrong’s Scientology associations. “Growing up really is just your favorite bands disappointing you,” one wrote .

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds to Return to North America on ‘Wild God’ Tour Next Spring

  • By Kory Grow

With a new album, Wild God , out now, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds will tour North America next year. Although Cave has toured with his red-right-hand-man Warren Ellis and made solo appearances, the full band has not visited the U.S. since 2018.

The dates, which includes appearances at arenas and theaters, kick off in Boston in April with St. Vincent serving as support for that show and the next date at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. The tour, without St. Vincent, will then wend around the country over the next month before wrapping in San Francisco.

Tickets will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. local time on Friday, September 13th. Presales begin Tuesday at 10 a.m. local time. Full details are on a special website for the tour .

He added: “If you can go to a concert and be genuinely swept up by it, it makes you a better person, and it reaches up beyond… Music has the capacity to reach up beyond what we would normally expect from ourselves.”

The band is kicking off a run of European and U.K. dates later this month. Longtime Bad Seeds member Martyn Casey will not be with the group due to an illness on those dates. Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood, who supported Cave on a solo tour last year and guested on Wild God , is filling in.

For many, the holiday season isn't complete without a viewing of Home Alone . And now, that tradition just got that much sweeter.

Macaulay Culkin — who became a household name after starring as Kevin McCallister in the treasured 1990 comedy — is going on tour, for a evening that will make any Home Alone fan scream with excitement.

Home Alone: A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin will begin with a screening of the film, followed by a moderated interview and audience Q&A with the actor, 44. News of the tour was first revealed on the Today show on Friday, Sept. 6.

"Relive the iconic scenes and heartwarming moments from Home Alone on the big screen, and then dive deep into the behind-the-scenes stories and insights with Macaulay Culkin himself," reads a synopsis for the tour. "Hear about his experiences on set, his favorite memories from filming, and his take on why this movie has become such a beloved holiday classic."

"Whether you're a die-hard fan or simply love the holiday spirit, this event promises to be an unforgettable experience for all."

The tour kicks off Saturday, Nov. 30 in Buffalo, N.Y. and continues through Dec. 15 in Medford, Mass.

Other stops in between currently include Erie, Pa.; Louisville, Ky.; Evansville, Ind.; Indianapolis, Ill.; Rosemont, Ill.; Milwaukee, Wis.; Detroit, Mich.; Akron, Ohio; Johnstown, Pa.; Reading, Pa. and Newark, N.J.

A full list of dates and ticket information are available on the tour's official website.

Attendees looking for "an extra-special experience" can purchase a limited number of VIP tickets. That'll give them access to a personal post-show photo opportunity with Culkin.

Home Alone was directed by Chris Columbus and written by John Hughes. The film also starred Joe Pesci , Catherine O'Hara , Daniel Stern and John Heard.

Culkin's performance as Kevin earned him a Golden Globe nomination. He reprised the character in 1992's Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

Just last December, Culkin — who is also known for roles in My Girl , Saved! , Party Monster and American Horror Story (among others) — reunited with his Home Alone onscreen mom O'Hara, 70, as he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in celebration of his 40 years in the industry.

" Home Alone  was, is and always will be a beloved global sensation," O'Hara said in her speech. "The reason families all over the world can't let a year go by without watching and loving  Home Alone  together is because of Macaulay Culkin."

O'Hara added that Culkin gave a "perfect performance" as Kevin. "I know you worked really hard, I know you did, but you made acting look like the most natural thing in the world to do," she said.

She went on to praise Culkin for bringing a "sweet and twisted, yet totally relatable" sense of humor to every project he does. "It's a sign of intelligence in a child and a key to survival at any age," said the actress.

"Macaulay, congratulations. You so deserve your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And thank you for including me, your fake mom who left you home alone not once but twice, to share in this happy occasion. I'm so proud of you," O'Hara concluded.

As for Culkin, he ended his speech by quoting one of Home Alone 's most infamous lines.

"To wrap things up, and in the spirit of the holiday season, I just wanna say Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals," he said.
