Laos - Laid-back Vibe

Less populous and less hectic, Laos is an ideal hideout for anyone seeking calmness in the modernity. Regardless of cities (e.g., Luang Prabang, Vientiane) or rural villages (e.g., Si Phan Don Islands, Luang Namtha, Nong Khiaw), you will experience the pure slow-paced life in the most leisure way when in Laos.

Laos - Gorgeous Temples

As a Buddhist country, there are numerous beautiful temples (e.g., Wat Xieng Thong, Pha That Luong, Vat Phou) in Laos well-worth your visit. They are the places for local people to pay their homage to the Buddha and occur main religious events in the country.

A Mysterious Archaeological Site In Laos

Plain of Jars in Xieng Khouang Plateau is known to be one of the most special archaeological sites all over the world. The mysterious origin of these giant stone jars is the main factor that attracts many people when visiting Laos.

The Almsgiving Ceremony In Laos

The Almsgiving Ceremony every early morning in Luang Prabang is a must for your travel bucket list in Laos. Lines of saffron-clad monks silently walking in the streets and doing their daily ritual is the symbolic image of Laos that you should not miss witnessing and joining if interested.

Reviews & Feedbacks about Vietnam Cambodia Laos Tours

"an unforgettable trip with asia tours".

Everything was amazing. I want to thank Ms Nhi very much for your hard work and for planning in the best possible way our vacation. We have requested a lot of changes for our trip, and Nhi had tried her best to adapt our changes. I was travelling with my old parents, and they need a slow paced tour. Everything was organized so well for us and always being available to help when ever we needed you! We had a really great trip and enjoyed it all enormously. If and when I decide to do another trip in Asia I will definitely be in touch and I will recommend you to my friends! Once again thank you, regards. Elizabeth - United States

"Private Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos Tour "

The planning process was great - definitely appreciated all the time and patience that was taken to ensure that every detail was to our liking. We loved the Vientiane city tour, the White and Blue temples! Night street market was our favourite - only once a week and we lucked out. All hotels were great - really appreciated the accommodations during our trip. The elephant sanctuary was great! We Loved the excursion. Overall, we loved the tour! We would highly recommend your services to anyone who is visiting the area! Tom - United States

"Excellent organization!"

Thank you Ms Nhi for helping me arranging the trip. It was great. Cambodia is lovely. More city compared to Laos. I like Angkor Wat a lot. I love the experience of hot air balloon. It was fantastic. It’s worth it and we got flight certificate. They even provided champagne and fruits and juice at the end. For the caves, it was nice also. Similar to the one in Vietnam. Next time will try for the tubing and kayaking. Hope one day I can use your service again to explore Asia  Bethany - United States

"An excellent private customized tour by Asia Tours!"

We just returned from a private tour of Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand that lasted for 20 days. Our planner was Miss Nhi. Based on our preferences, she created a fantastic schedule and was extremely attentive. Everything she prepared for the logistics went well, and we had an amazing experience. She took care of all hotel reservations, internal flights, and several trips. Our tour guides were excellent, and the trips were exciting! The drivers were first-rate! Our top picks include riding through farmland and rice paddies on a bicycle, taking a cooking class, cruising Halong Bay, seeing the golden triangle and white temple, boating through canals, going to markets, trying local cuisine. I highly recommend Miss Nhi for other Asia trip! Michela - United States

FAQS About Vietnam Cambodia Laos Tours

We are elderly, so please avoid things like bicycles, kayaks, etc. we want to have a nice visit, see lots of sites, but the exercise should be mild.

Yes. Biking in Mekong day is just optional activity so if you don’t prefer it, we still have private car to backup among the places in the tour for you. Please don’t worry about that. For Kayaks in Halong Bay, it is also up to your choice. You can feel free to skip it.

The destinations in tour have any special requirements about clothes?

No. There are no any special compulsory requirements. Most of the tours you can wear comfortable clothes but any tour includes a visit to temples, please wear clothes longer than your knees, clothes with sleeves.

We do not really want to spend time on the religious side of the experience in these countries; we enjoy history, culture but don't really enjoy religious topics and experiences. We don't mind visiting religious sites, but aren't interested in participating, just interested in the history, architecture and so on?

Yes. By this tour, you will have chance to learn more about the rich history sites, immerse yourself to breathtaking nature wonders and experience very local life culture in Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos. We do not organize or entice tourists to participate in any religious activities. By the way, since we are always flexible to customize the trip according to your own preferences and interests, please do not hesitate to share us your ideas or comments. We will definitely try our best to accommodate until your satisfaction.

For the boat tour in Trang An, how many people sharing a boat? We are 2 people and we don't want to share with other travelers?

Normally each boat can accommodate maximum 4 people but since this is your private tour so we will arrange the boat for your group - 2 people only, no sharing with any other travelers.

I am wondering if there is another bay that is not as crowded as Halong Bay?

Halong's sea & limestone pillars includes three adjacent bays: Halong Bay, Bai Tu Long bay and Lan Ha bay. However, since Halong Bay is more popular to travelers so its normally quite crowded, especially in the peak season. We usually suggest to visit Lan Ha Bay or Bai Tu Long because both of them not only share many similar geological characters with Halong Bay but considered as off the beaten tourist track with no less many pristine beaches and impressive karst mountains.

After the trip, transfer to charming Hoi An. Check in hotel and free time to explore the ancient town.

This excursion may prove distressing for some. After that, transfer to the airport for the short flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival in Siem Reap, you will visit the incredible temple Ta Prohm. You include these sights in a half day guided tour, which ends with a climb to Phousi Hill to enjoy a beautiful sunset view of the city and its glowing reflection on the Mekong River. There are 329 steps leading you on zigzag way past various temples to the sacred, gilded stupa of Wat Phousi at the summit.

This morning, you continue to explore Luang Prabang with the temple of Wat Xieng Thong, a magnificent piece of architecture, which nestles at the meeting of the Mekong and the Nam Khan River. The temple structures are decorated in various ways with gilded stuccoes as well as doorways and the main sim has a marvelous ‘tree life’ mosaic pattern on an outer wall.

After that, you take a drive 30km to visit Tad Kuang Sii waterfall. The falls cascade over many calcified tiers and down several hundred feet into a series of cool, turquoise pools. The water here has a clear blue-green tint due to the high mineral content. You can climb the stairs and look down from various high viewpoints on the way to the top! Enjoy a picnic lunch and later in the afternoon return to the hotel to relax or explore on your own. Luang Prabang is a wonderful walking town, and you can find dinner on your own at any number of fine international restaurants.

This tradition is very unique in Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the procession. You will visit the morning Phosi Market where you will see such diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings.

On the way to Lao’s national precious heritage, the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, you stop enroute to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph.

In the afternoon you transfer out to see the Buddha Park, a scattered enchanting collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures on the Mekong Riverside meadow, close to the Friendship Bridge. There are approximately 200 religious images dating back over 500 years, which were created by a mysterious monk spreading his philosophy on life and revealing his ideas about the universe. A spectacular view of over the Mekong River at sunset is a perfect way to finish the day.

Free in your own until your departure time. Your driver will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight. End of the service. Cảm ơn và chào tạm biệt.

Why choosing Laos? This seems familiar questions to any visitor who has never been here. In fact, Laos is one of the most isolated parts and only landlocked country in South East Asia. It is bordered by China (North, 423 km), Vietnam (Northeast and East, 2,130 km), Cambodia (South, 541 km), Thailand (West, 1,754 km) and Myanmar or Burma (Northwest, 235 km).

The best of Laos

The serenity of Laos.

From many outside viewers, this country is a total sleeper and under the radar as it lacks of tourism marketing to international markets. With more than 2 million tons of bombs over the country by Americans during the Vietnam War as part of a covert attempt to wrest power from communist forces, Laos is also the most heavily bombed nation in history today.

As a result, Laos becomes much undeveloped than its neighboring countries. The infrastructure in Laos has not been setup for mass tourism, taxis are not abundant and road conditions are still challenging to visitors which take long journey from place to place.

If Vietnam is famous for Halong Bay; Cambodia is for the Angkor complex; Myanmar for Bagan’s plains, and Thailand for pristine beaches and islands, of course this is just one of key spots among many other attractions of these countries, so what is the best of Laos to visit?

Yes, the advantage of Laos is that it is far less touristy which gives Laos unique charm and authentic . For those who love laid back atmosphere without too much crowds and a bit adventure, this is place for you. As a beautiful untouched country, Laos seems to be quiet and secluded from the rest of the world without many attractions compared to Vietnam, Thailand or Cambodia, but it feels fresh and vibrant.

The pace of life is slow so it is good place to relax . The Lao people are simple, friendly and just living their life. Laos culture is diversified with many ethnic minorities and amazingly representing Buddhism which retains its oldest tradition .

In addition, Laos really has many other things to offer, just that they don’t get proportional marketing. North Laos like Luang Namtha, Phongsaly ,…are perfect places for trekking, especially to remote ethnic villages and experience homestay. Visiting Nong Khiaw and Muang Ngoi for stunning scenery.

Luang Prabang is a beautiful and richly filled with sacred temples. Experience alms giving ceremony in the early morning is great, when Buddhist monks and novices walking in the road to collect food from locals.

Royal Palace Museum in Luang Prabang.

Royal Palace Museum in Luang Prabang.

The capital Vientiane provides a diverse foodie paradise. Vang Vieng is a good place for adventure lovers with many outdoor activities such as tubing, kayaking or cave visits. Plain of Jars is place for nature beauty and history.

Heading south offers gorgeous natural vistas to take in. Visiting the waterfalls around the coffee-rich Boloven Plateau ; or the UNESCO world heritage site of Wat Phou or stunning flows of the Mekong around 4000 islands (Si Phan Don) .

There are also many National Protected Areas (Nam Ha NPA is one of best known) where gives many opportunities for trekking in the jungles or see the rare wildlife there.

Of course, tasty Laos food cannot be missed in the trip as well.

best time to visit Laos

The best time of your travel can be from November to February when the weather is the most pleasant.

Laos has a typical tropical monsoon climate including dry season from November to April and wet season from May to October with the variations in temperature. Among these seasons, the hottest period comes to March and April (end months of dry season leading to wet season) and early start of wet season in May, June.

During wet season (or rainy season), an average rainfall can reach 1,300 to 2,300 mm (50 to 90 in) with the heaviest rainfall in August & September, especially on the Bolaven Plateau, Champasak Province in the South. The average temperature is generally around 27 °C (80 °F).

In dry season, the average temperatures in the cool months (December – February) vary between 16 and 21 °C (60 and 70 °F) with the coolest month coming to January. In March and April, the temperature increases higher over 32 °C (90 °F) with April as the hottest month of year when Lao New Year and water festival occurs.

In fact, you can actually visit Laos all-year-round. However, the best time of your travel can be from November to February when the weather is the most pleasant . In the far north of Laos, the weather even gets pretty cold in the evenings. Of course, this is also high/peak season, so prepare for more crowds with higher expenses, especially during Christmas/New Year Eve or Lao New Year. The early booking is highly recommended to guarantee services during this time.

While planning a holiday to Laos, it is not easy to decide the best tour package as right choice of travelers. As the main hubs of Laos, your trip can normally start either from Luang Prabang or Vientiane with various trip length (less, within or more than a week) as well as travel styles (culture and history, adventure, luxury), absolutely depending on your interest, time & budget.
