Beyoncé returned to the stage for first time in four years in January

Last month, Beyoncé made her return to the stage and performed at the opening of the Atlantis The Royal hotel in Dubai. Despite the luxury experience, the singer left fans wanting more, as she did not perform any songs from "Renaissance," The Hollywood Reporter reported.

The invitation-only event marked her first concert in more than four years. She last performed at the  Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 event in 2018.

Beyoncé dominates Grammy nominations

The singer's tour announcement comes days ahead of the Grammys where Beyoncé leads the 2023 lineup with nine nominations, including best dance/electronic album ("Renaissance"), best R&B performance ("Virgo’s Groove") and best traditional R&B performance ("Plastic Off the Sofa").

With 28 wins and 88 total career nominations, Beyoncé now ties her husband, rapper Jay-Z , for the most nominations in Grammy history. If Beyoncé picks up four or more awards this year, she will surpass the late Georg Solti for the most Grammy wins of all time. (The Hungarian-born conductor holds the record with 31.)

Beyoncé called out by Monica Lewinsky: over 'Partition' lyric after ableism controversy

Beyoncé and Jay-Z have got "to be the most intense power couple in the history of music," Recording Academy president Harvey Mason Jr. Mason said after the nominations were revealed. "That’s music and Grammy royalty – that’s the royal family."

Their combined 176 nominations are "absolutely a testament to their talent, to their level of excellence, to their work ethic, to their level of greatness over a long period of time. I don’t even know what the next (leading) couple would be, but it’s not anywhere close.”

Beyoncé's 'Break My Soul.' Taylor Swift's 'Anti-Hero.'  These are the 10 best songs of 2022, ranked.

Beyoncé noticeably was not nominated in any of the music video categories for the Grammys, having not released any album visuals for "Renaissance" since its debut.

Where can you get tickets?

Tickets for the North American leg of the tour will be available through Ticketmaster's Verified Fan program. Tickets will go on sale Monday, Feb 6, with an exclusive presale to BeyHive members, according to a Live Nation press release.

Verified Fan registration is now open. Once you register, you'll be placed in a lottery system that determines which fans get invited to purchase tickets. Registration alone doesn't guarantee tickets. If you're selected, you'll get an access code the day before tickets go on sale. Everyone else will be placed on a waitlist. According to Live Nation, this process is intended to help Ticketmaster weed out the resellers and verify your account so that actual fans get priority to buy tickets.

Citi cardmembers will have a special Citi Presale after the Verified Fan process. Get more details here . Verizon will also offer an exclusive presale through their customer loyalty program Verizon Up .

Will Beyoncé be using Ticketmaster like Taylor Swift to sell tickets?

Yes, but given what happened with Taylor Swift's Eras tour (and the fact it led to Congressional hearings about Ticketmaster ’s practices), it seems very likely both Beyoncé and Ticketmaster would want to avoid repeating that mess. That most likely explains the usage of the Verified Fan system.

Where will Beyoncé be playing?

The Renaissance World Tour will hit 40 cities in North America and across Europe. Stops include Paris, London, Amsterdam, Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Houston, and many more.

What has Beyoncé said about the Renaissance World Tour?

She just announced it was happening with a post on February 1. Her website didn't immediately contain any more details. But during the Wearable Art Gala in October 2022, she appeared to confirm it would start this summer, as a backstage tour with her mother Tina Lawson was up for auction at the event.

Will Beyoncé be performing at the Grammys (on February 5) and sharing more tour details there?

Not clear yet, but she is the most nominated artist at the ceremony . On January 21, Variety reported that “ talks with show producers are ongoing for a possible onstage appearance ” by Beyoncé.

What can we expect from the tour on stage?

Beyoncé hasn't shared that yet either, but given the artistry she put into her recent Dubai show , it's fair to say we can expect no less than excellence, elaborate costumes, and an incredible experience.

This post will be updated the moment more detail is released.

Atlantis The Royal Grand Reveal Weekend 2023 - Beyonce Performance

B eyoncé’s fans have been waiting for this day: the pop megastar finally announced that she will embark on the long-awaited Renaissance World Tour. She uploaded a post to Instagram early Wednesday morning with the caption: “RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR 2023,” and her official website has been updated to show the tour dates. The tour starts in May in Sweden and will hit Belgium, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Poland, before she makes her way to North America. The first date stateside will be in Philadelphia, Pa., in July and the tour will hit the major U.S. cities before wrapping up in New Orleans, La., on Sept. 27.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Beyoncé (@beyonce)

Following the release of her seventh album, Renaissance , in July, fans have been itching for a tour announcement, in addition to music videos to accompany the songs. Beyoncé’s last solo tour was the Formation World Tour back in 2016 to support her sixth album, Lemonade . Following that, she went on the On The Run Tour with her husband, Jay-Z, in 2018 after releasing their joint project, Everything Is Love . The announcement of a new tour just before the Grammy Awards on Sunday raises suspicion that Beyoncé might be performing or, at the very least, attending the night’s festivities.

The singer is nominated for nine Grammys at this year’s awards ceremony, which are set to take place on Feb. 5 in Los Angeles. This year, she is up against Adele for multiple awards, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year. There has been speculation about whether or not Beyoncé would be performing ever since the nominations were announced. The last time fans saw her perform on a major televised stage was at last year’s Oscars ceremony, where she performed “Be Alive” from the King Richard movie for the first time.

Read More: 6 Takeaways from Beyoncé’s New Album Renaissance

Beyoncé most recently took the stage for a private concert at the opening of the Atlantis The Royal resort in Dubai in January. However, she did not perform any songs from Renaissance . Also, given that Beyoncé unveiled the album’s title on Instagram as “act [one],” her dedicated fanbase has been busy theorizing what acts two and three might be. Some have hypothesized that the tour would be act two and then a concert movie would be act three. Others have ventured to guess that this is a three-part album and that Renaissance was just the beginning.

Tickets for the concert will not be an easy get if Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is any indication. Beyoncé’s fans can click on the date they would like to attend to register for Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program and will then have to wait to see if they are given an access code to purchase tickets to the event. With Verified Fan and the “unexpected” traffic the pre-sale brought to the site, many Swifties likened the ticket-buying process to a warzone. The disastrous rollout drew ire from Swift’s fans and political officials alike. After the ticketing fiasco, the Senate held a hearing to look into whether Live Nation and Ticketmaster have a monopoly over the ticketing industry. This, coupled with the technical problems that Swift fans faced, have Beyoncé fans worrying that finding their way to an actual concert will be nothing short of an ordeal.

Beyoncé performed her first full concert in four years  in January at the new Atlantis Royal Resort in Dubai. It was an elaborate and highly theatrical performance — for which sources say she was paid some $24 million — with an all-female orchestra, a battery of dancers, a small lake, fireworks, a 50-foot hydraulic platform, three costume changes for the singer and a guest appearance from her and Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy, but no songs at all from “Renaissance.”

Her last official tour was the “On the Run II” tour with Jay in 2018, which was tied to their joint album, “Everything Is Love,” by the duo billed as the Carters. That same year, she headlined the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival but her last solo trek was behind her previous solo album, “Lemonade,” in 2016.

Beyoncé Announces Renaissance World Tour

It’s her first solo tour since 2016’s Formation era.

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES - JANUARY 21: Beyoncé attends the Atlantis The Royal Grand Reveal Weeken...

Beyoncé is officially back. After months of fans begging the singer to release some kind of visual accompaniment to her chart-topping seventh studio album Renaissance last July, she’s delivered on at least one aspect of album promo: a tour.

Beyoncé announced the tour on February 1st, which follows her tradition of making major announcements on the first day of Black History Month (remember her instantly iconic pregnancy announcement in 2017?) This announcement also came via a single Instagram post , this one featuring her in a crystal bodysuit sitting atop a mirrored horse, reflecting her original album imagery. The look is a nod to the disco and dance music influences of the project, which will likely be the theme of the tour.

Beyoncé’s last solo outing was the Formation Tour in 2016. She’s also nominated for nine 2023 Grammys, and if she wins four this Sunday she’ll become the most awarded artist in Grammy history.

For those hoping to snag tickets to the Renaissance, here’s everything you need to know:

After Ticketmaster was grilled by Congress following the Taylor Swift ticket debacle last fall, the site is rolling out staggered ticketing for Beyoncé’s shows. Fans can sign up for verified fan programs via Ticketmaster, the official BeyHive site, CITI and Verizon. Signing up for a verified fan entry doesn’t guarantee a ticket, but puts you on a waitlist for when they eventually go on-sale. If there are more interested fans than available tickets (which is highly likely, given the demand for a Beyoncé tour), a lottery system will be used to give verified fans access to the sale. Head to Ticketmaster for a full FAQ on how to purchase tickets.

Why Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Tour Is a Stadium-Shaking Triumph

  • By Brian Hiatt

Brian Hiatt

Beyoncé ‘s Renaissance tour , a stadium-shaking dance party built around last year’s album of the same name , won’t begin its U.S. run until a July 12 show in Philadelphia, but thanks to TikTok and YouTube, stateside fans already have a decent sense of the show. It begins with Beyoncé essentially serving as her own opening act via a mini set of ballads before exploding into a show built around the Renaissance album, with songs from her previous albums worked in among the new hits (or in some cases, as with a taste of “Sweet Dreams” in “Alien Superstar,” during them).

'maxxxine' brings back old-school porn and horror, 1980s style, neil gaiman denies sexual assault allegations made by two women, unschooling is the parenting trend that's pissing everyone off.

In the episode, Brittany Spanos joins host Brian Hiatt to discuss the discourse around and experience of the tour on TikTok and elsewhere, while Daily Telegraph music critic Neil McCormick — who just gave five stars to Beyoncé’s performance in the Welsh capital of Cardiff — offers a firsthand look at the tour. “Beyoncé has spent 25 years doing what she does at an incredibly high level and always trying to up up the ante,” says McCormick. “This is Beyoncé showing who’s the queen, and it’s at the top level of where a show has ever, ever been.”

Beyoncé Announces Renaissance World Tour

The star’s first solo tour since 2016 will start May 10 in Stockholm.

Beyoncé smiles widely at the Grammys podium, wearing a black dress with a plunging neckline.

By Joe Coscarelli

For the first time since 2016 — a world before Beychella , Covid-19 and “Renaissance” — Beyoncé will headline a solo tour, the singer announced in a social media post on Wednesday.

Beginning on May 10 in Stockholm, and continuing in Europe through June before coming to North America, the Renaissance World Tour, in support of her seventh solo album, will run for at least 40 dates, largely in stadiums, according to dates posted to Beyoncé’s website . The tour includes one night at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (July 29) and one at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. (Sept. 2) amid stops in Chicago, Philadelphia, Toronto, Atlanta, Phoenix and Miami.

Limited tickets for certain tour dates will go on sale beginning Monday for members of Beyoncé’s BeyHive fan club, followed by the staggered release of additional tickets by market, using a complex registration system for various tiers of buyer.

The tour, produced by Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment and promoted by Live Nation, will use Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan system , which aims to limit bots and professional scalpers, marking one of the first major tests for Ticketmaster since extraordinary demand for early tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour last year led to fan backlash and regulatory scrutiny . At a Senate Judiciary hearing last month spurred by the botched presale, artists, fans and politicians cast Live Nation Entertainment, the concert industry giant that owns Ticketmaster, as a monopoly that hinders competition and harms consumers.

Beyoncé’s shows will be the singer’s first live events available to the public since the On the Run II tour with her husband, Jay-Z, in 2018, tied to the surprise release of a joint album, “Everything Is Love,” by the duo billed as the Carters. Beyoncé last toured alone behind her previous solo album, “Lemonade,” in 2016. Two years later, she headlined the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

That show — which went on to be released as “Homecoming” (2019), a live album and concert film — was called “rich with history, potently political and visually grand” in a review by the New York Times critic Jon Caramanica. “By turns uproarious, rowdy, and lush. A gobsmacking marvel of choreography and musical direction.”

In the years since, Beyoncé has surfaced intermittently, including with songs like “Black Parade,” which won a Grammy Award for best R&B performance, and “Be Alive,” which appeared in the movie “King Richard” and was nominated for an Oscar. Last year, in a taped performance, Beyoncé performed the song at the 94th annual Academy Awards.

But the singer made a return to the pop mainstream in earnest with the July 2022 release of “Renaissance,” a dance-floor-oriented album that she said was inspired by the L.G.B.T.Q. community and has spawned hits like “Break My Soul” and “Cuff It.” At the Grammy Awards on Sunday, Beyoncé is nominated nine times , with a chance to become the most-awarded artist in history.

Upon its release, the singer called “Renaissance” part of a “three act project” that she recorded during the pandemic. “My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment,” she wrote of the album, which was billed as Act I. “A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom.”

Major music touring has largely recovered, especially at its highest levels, since the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the industry trade publication Pollstar , touring grossed a record-setting $6.28 billion last year, up more than 13 percent from 2019, due in part to pent-up fan demand, inflation and major acts like Bad Bunny, Elton John and Harry Styles.

In addition to Beyoncé’s shows, this year will see blockbuster tours from artists including Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Metallica, Morgan Wallen and Madonna.

Last month, Beyoncé proved more polarizing than usual when she headlined the grand opening of a luxury hotel in Dubai, performing for an invite-only collection of guests, including influencers and journalists.

While some fans decried the optics of taking a major payday in a place that criminalizes homosexuality — “Beyoncé’s Dubai performance isn’t just an affront to LGBTQ+ fans, but workers’ rights in the UAE,” The Guardian declared — others noted that the singer’s set list did not yet include songs from “Renaissance.”

An earlier version of this article misstated the year Beyoncé headlined Coachella. It was 2018, not 2016.

What will the stage be like for the Renaissance World Tour?

According to reports, the stage for Bey's tour is set to be huge.

A source close to the production revealed that: "The structure for the stage is gigantic and on a totally different scale from any other tour right now – that’s why she needed a huge venue to rehearse in.

And she can’t run through the show in any of the stadiums she is performing in because they aren’t soundproofed and people would hear what she was preparing.

She is on top form and is pulling out all the stops to make this a truly groundbreaking tour."

Grammy-winning artist Beyoncé is back on her first solo tour since 2016. Tickets are still on sale for those who wish to see Beyoncé perform in her celebrated Renaissance World Tour through October 2023. Stick with us, and we'll show you the best options for where to buy Beyoncé tickets today.

The 2023 Renaissance World Tour kicked off with an international leg in Sweden on May 10, 2023. Beyoncé then traveled across ten European countries before arriving in North America on July 8. The tour's United States and Canada leg will continue through October 1 as the musician plays 13 more shows in nine cities.

Supporting her 2022 album "Renaissance," the concert setlists have included Beyoncé playing each track from her seventh studio album. The Renaissance World Tour also includes "Queen Bey" playing various hits from her larger discography, such as "Formation," "Love on Top," and "Crazy in Love."

If you're aiming to buy tickets for the final performances of Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour, we've got you covered. Here's our breakdown of Beyoncé's remaining tour schedule, purchasing details, and resale and original ticket prices. Or you can browse through the available tickets left through StubHub and Vivid Seats at your leisure.

Beyoncé 2023 Renaissance tour schedule

The Renaissance World Tour still has 11 concert dates across eight cities, including three shows in Inglewood, California. In addition to one stop in Vancouver, Canada, the remaining shows will be held in the United States. Tickets are the most expensive in Beyoncé's hometown of Houston, Texas. All concert times are listed in local time zones. We've linked to the ticket site with the cheapest deals (at the time of writing) in the 'Prices from' column.

Where to buy tickets for Beyoncé 2023 Renaissance tour

You can purchase original tickets to Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour through Ticketmaster , although only a select number remain for each 2023 date and location. However, the tickets still available on Ticketmaster are typically more expensive than those found on verified resale platforms such as StubHub and Vivid Seats .

The prices for standard tickets to Beyoncé's concerts from StubHub start at approximately $102 on the lower end to nearly $400, depending on the venue. Vivid Seats offers similar price ranges for standard Renaissance World Tour tickets, ranging from about $100 in Las Vegas to $375 in Houston. When considering VIP packages, the cost increases significantly on each purchasing platform.

How much are Beyoncé tickets?

The prices for original Beyoncé concert tickets have risen considerably since the end of the initial Verified Fan Sale through Ticketmaster. Additionally, the cost of an original ticket varies depending on the demand for a particular location and date.

For instance, the cheapest price on Ticketmaster for a standard original ticket to the 2023 Renaissance World Tour is $91.83 for her Las Vegas, Nevada show on August 27. However, there are very few standard original tickets remaining for Beyoncé's concerts, so you may have better luck with verified resales.

Meanwhile, some original VIP packages, such as the Pure/Honey on Stage Risers, cost well over $3,000. At Beyoncé's August 30 performance in Santa Clara, the original VIP package costs $3,601. On the less expensive side, original Beyhive VIP Package prices are $1,401 in Seattle. Here's a breakdown of the various Beyoncé VIP packages from Ticketmaster's website .

Original prices typically come in much higher than resale prices for Beyoncé concerts. Many of the cheaper tickets are verified resales for nearer tour dates, suggesting you might find the best prices when it gets closer to the concert date.

Who is opening for Beyoncé's tour?

Beyoncé's world tour does not include any opening acts from other artists. Once the showtime begins for each concert date, it will be the Queen Bey herself who comes onstage.

There are no traditional opening acts for the 2023 Renaissance World Tour because Beyoncé is technically the opener to her own concerts. The time typically reserved for other artists at the start of the concert instead sees Beyoncé sing R&B ballads from her early discography, beginning with her Destiny's Child-era 2000 song "Dangerously in Love 2."

Approximately four songs are played in Beyoncé's "Opening Act" before moving into her "Renaissance" tracks. The concert is approximately two and a half hours long with 31 songs on the setlist, so Beyoncé's tour has more than enough hit music to fill the night.

Since Beyoncé opened with the international leg of her ninth solo tour, the music sensation will take her final bow of the concert series on October 1 in Kansas City, Missouri. While the remaining concert dates are primarily in the United States, there will be one last international show in Vancouver, Canada, on September 11, 2023.

Where to Watch and Stream 'Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé'

By now, you’ve heard the chatter, dodged the clips on TikTok and have viewed the iconic trailer for Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé. Queen Bey is back again with another concert documentary film, and this time, it hit theaters.

Breathe a sigh of relief because we have all the details on how to watch Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.

Where to watch and stream Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé

Currently, fans of Bey can only watch the film in theaters. While, there hasn’t been an official release date for the film beyond its theater run, that doesn’t mean it won't make it to streaming services soon. If the opening weekend alone is any indication of the demand (it debuted on the silver screen on December 1 and raked in nearly $27.4 million that weekend ), surely the film will be streamed for the masses.

Should it follow the same blueprint as Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour , which was also distributed by AMC Entertainment , it will likely become available on-demand on places like Amazon, just two months after its premiere, so we could see it appear as soon as early 2024.

However, it's important to note that Beyoncé reportedly signed a massive deal with Netflix in 2019, so, it could end up there when all is said and done. But given that her Black Is King film was exclusive to Disney+, there's also the possibility the film will land there. Either way, you'll want to make sure you have a subscription to start streaming when it's time! Netflix's lowest plan starts at $6.99 per month, and Disney+ starts at $7.99 per month .

In the meantime, snag your ticket to see the film at your local theater and binge-watch other Beyoncé films and visual albums, including Life Is But a Dream (2013) and Lemonade (2016) .

Will Beyonce's Renaissance Tour Concert Film Be on Streaming?

Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé is in theaters today.

preview for Beyoncé’s Best Renaissance World Tour Looks

Every item on this page was chosen by a Town & Country editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy.

There are no announced plans yet for the Renaissance concert film to be on any streaming platform, but there's a very good chance that after its theatrical run, it will be available on demand and hopefully streaming.

This isn't Beyoncé's first documentary—she's had a few notable films over the years including Netflix's Homecoming (2019), which gave fans a look into her headlining performance at Coachella in 2018 , Life is But a Dream (2013), which was an intimate portrait of the star as she became a mother, and Live at Roseland: Elements of 4 (2011) which went behind the scenes of her four night residency at Roseland Ballroom.

However, none of those premiered in theaters, so there's no example to follow. Rather, Beyoncé's Renaissance tour film could follow the same schedule as Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concert film , as they both made distribution deals directly with AMC theaters. The Eras Tour movie premiered on October 13, and will be available to rent on December 13, two months after its release. In that case, we can hope Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé will be available to watch from the comfort of the couch sometime in early 2024, but we'll update this as soon as we learn more.

Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry Attend Beyoncé's Renaissance Tour in LA

The couple were spotted in the star-studded crowd

preview for Beyoncé’s Best Renaissance World Tour Looks

The couple was seen attending the singer's first show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Friday night, along with the duchess's mother, Doria Ragland. The mother-daughter duo were captured dancing along to the musician's biggest hits, while following the evening's silver dress code.

For the occasion, Meghan paired a white sleeveless top with a high-waisted sequined skirt by SPRWMN . Her hair was worn down, and she appeared to accessorize minimally with a dainty bracelet.

Ragland wore a metallic sleeveless top and white pants in honor of the singer's request that fans wear "fabulous silver fashions to the shows" occurring in Virgo season. The night also served as a birthday celebration for the yoga instructor, who turns 67 today.

Meanwhile, Harry layered a gray blazer over a gray T-shirt and white slacks, while standing with his hands in his pockets.

Other celebs who were seen at last night's concert—the first of Beyoncé's three sold-out LA shows—include Kris Jenner, Kali Uchis, Pedro Pascal, Kris Jenner, Tyler Perry, and LeBron James, among others.

Meghan and Beyoncé have been friendly for years, with the musician occasionally sharing sweet tributes to the duchess. The pair met for the first time at the London premiere of Disney's The Lion King in 2019.

The Renaissance Tour is the latest of several fun outings for the duchess this summer. She also made the two-hour drive to SoFi from her and Harry's home in Montecito, California, to see Taylor Swift's Eras Tour last month. The couple also celebrated Meghan's 42nd birthday privately as a family, following an early birthday dinner at Tre Lune in Montecito.

All About Blue Ivy, Beyoncé and JAY-Z's Older Daughter

Beyoncé and JAY-Z welcomed their eldest daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, in January 2012

renaissance tour dates beyonce.com

Beyoncé and JAY-Z are crazy in love with their three children: Blue Ivy and twins Rumi and Sir.

The musicians — who married in April 2008 — confirmed they were expecting their first child three years later when Beyoncé teased, “I have a surprise,” while cradling a baby bump on the red carpet at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards .

They welcomed their oldest child, daughter Blue Ivy, in January 2012.

"I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth," Beyoncé told PEOPLE in April 2012 after being named PEOPLE's World's Most Beautiful Woman . "I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth."

While speaking on LeBron James ’ show, The Shop: Uninterrupted , JAY-Z also opened up about becoming a father.

Kevin Winter/MTV1415/Getty

" It's amazing . It's a very grounding thing ... I didn't learn how to swim until Blue was born," he said. "There goes everything you need to know. This is a metaphor for our relationship. If she ever fell in the water and I couldn't get her, I couldn't even fathom that thought. I gotta learn how to swim. That's it. That was the beginning of our relationship."

Five years later, the proud parents made Blue a big sister. They welcomed twins, Rumi and Sir, in June 2017.

While Beyoncé and JAY-Z are known for being private when it comes to their three children, that hasn’t stopped them from letting Blue Ivy be in the spotlight . She has collaborated with both of them on several projects, including dancing alongside her famous mom during Beyoncé’s 2022 Academy Awards performance of “ Be Alive .” Blue Ivy has also joined her mother onstage several times during Beyoncé's ongoing Renaissance World Tour.

In July 2024, Blue Ivy won the YoungStars Award at the BET Awards, and grandma Tina Knowles congratulated her with a sweet Instagram post.

"Congratulations my Blue Blue! I marvel at your talent your beauty your intelligence but I am most proud of your kindness and down to earth attitude," she wrote.

Here’s everything to know about Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy.

She was born on Jan. 7, 2012, in New York City

Beyoncé and JAY-Z welcomed Blue Ivy Carter on Jan. 7, 2012, at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Two days after her birth, TIME magazine dubbed her “the most famous baby in the world.”

Upon the news of her arrival, the pair’s famous friends were quick to congratulate the newly minted family of three . "Welcome to the world princess Carter!," Rihanna tweeted.

The pair released the first photo of Blue alongside a handwritten note approximately one month after she was born. “We welcome you to share in our joy," the new parents wrote. "Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives."

In a 2013 interview with Vogue , Beyoncé recalled the experience of welcoming her first child. "My family and my closest people were there when I gave birth,” she said. “Everything that scared me just was not present in that room. So for me to really let go and really appreciate every contraction ... It was the best day of my life."

She holds two Guinness World Records

Allen Berezovsky/Getty

When Blue Ivy was 2 days old, JAY-Z recorded her vocals and incorporated them into his song “Glory.” The Roc Nation founder wrote the song about his firstborn daughter , and it features lyrics about a miscarriage his wife had previously experienced .

JAY-Z rapped: “False alarms and false starts/ All made better by the sound of your heart/ All the pain of the last time/ I prayed so hard it was the last time."

“Glory” debuted on the U.S. R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, making Blue a Guinness World Record holder for being the youngest person to have a song appear on a Billboard chart .

In 2021, Blue — who sings on the opening and closing of Beyoncé’s track “Brown Skin Girl” and has a writing credit for the song — won best music video as a featured artist at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards . This earned her a second Guinness World Record title for being the youngest individually credited winner at the Grammys.

The single also features SAINt JHN and Wizkid and appeared on the album The Lion King: The Gift .

She made history twice for her appearance in "Brown Skin Girl"

Not only is she the title holder of two Guinness World Records, but Blue Ivy also made history by being both the youngest BET and youngest VMA winner for “Brown Skin Girl.”

In 2020, at 8 years old, she received the BET HER award for the song, which sings the praises of Black beauty. And in August 2021, she picked up MTV’s coveted award in the best cinematography category.

She has a stylist

Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty

Just like her parents, every time Blue Ivy steps out, all eyes are on her. To help her look her best, the parents have enlisted Manuel Mendez — who has worked as Beyoncé’s personal assistant — to be their daughter’s personal shopper and stylist.

Mendez has been styling Blue since she was 20 months old and is credited with some of her most iconic looks, including her ensemble for JAY-Z’s “Family Feud” music video and the custom Valery Kovalska white suit she wore to the 2018 Grammys .

Mendez also lends his talent to Rumi and Sir and frequently posts looks he pulls together for the Carter children.

She gets embarrassed by her parents

Jim Poorten/NBAE/Getty

Even though her parents are some of the most well-known figures in the world, Blue Ivy still gets embarrassed by them from time to time.

While sitting courtside with her dad for Game 5 of the NBA Finals in 2022, the jumbotron panned to JAY-Z, who smiled and lovingly gave his daughter a kiss on the cheek. In the now-viral video, Blue can be seen mouthing, “Dad, my hair,” as he embraced her.

She also snubbed her dad on one of the most memorable days of his life — finding out he’d be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame .

JAY-Z was dropping Blue off at school in 2021 when he received the news he was an inductee. Recalling the moment while appearing on HBO’s The Shop: Uninterrupted , the father of three said, “As she walked away I was like, ‘Yo, give me a kiss, I’m in the Hall of Fame!’ ” His daughter didn’t seem too impressed, as she replied, “Bye, Dad.”

She helped induct her dad into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Despite seeming unimpressed at first, Blue had a hand in the October 2021 induction ceremony, where her dad became the first living solo rap artist inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame .

In a pre-recorded video, Blue, alongside her mom and other famous pals, including Alicia Keys , DJ Khaled and Usher , recited some of his most memorable lyrics .

"Congrats S. Carter, ghost writer/You paid the right price, so we just make your hits tighter," Blue Ivy rapped, laughing as she read out the censored line from JAY-Z's 1998 track "Ride or Die."

JAY-Z was inducted by former President Barack Obama and Dave Chappelle .

She has several hobbies

Jose Carlos Fajardo/MediaNews Group/The Mercury News/Getty

In a birthday tribute posted on her 11th birthday, Blue's maternal grandmother, Tina highlighted the special bond she has with her granddaughter and gave a glimpse into Blue’s current hobbies and interests.

“You can sing dance, play basketball, play volleyball, paint, draw, sculpt, sew, write poetry, write songs, create, act, play the piano! I could go on and on," she wrote on Instagram . "Because there's really nothing that you can't do."

Knowles-Lawson continued, “You are funny and beautiful and graceful, kind, and so smart. I could not ask for a better granddaughter, Ms. Blue Ivy Carter! I could not be more blessed, grateful, and completely in love with another human. You truly bring me joy!! Grandma T."

In 2020, it was announced that Blue would expand her résumé by narrating the Hair Love audiobook . Authored by former professional football player Matthew A. Cherry , the children’s book tells a story about a Black father who works with his young daughter to learn how to do her hair while his wife is in the hospital.

“I liked the idea of something that was centered around a Black family, because so often you don't see that in animation," Cherry told the Los Angeles Times .

Cherry shared a short clip of Blue's voice with the announcement, in which Blue introduced the book and herself, over a photo of the cover.

"Dreamscape presents Hair Love , by Matthew A. Cherry," she said. "Narrated by Blue Ivy Carter."

She is talented with makeup

Beyonce Instagram

It appears Blue Ivy has always had a knack for makeup — even from a young age. Her artistry skills were first on display at 4 years old when Beyoncé shared an image of Blue playing with her lip gloss and applying it neatly.

Blue’s grandmother has fostered her interest over the years, buying her numerous makeup kits, much to her dad’s dismay. “She’s quite a makeup artist. She’s amazing,” Knowles-Lawson told Entertainment Tonight . “She puts stones [on her eyes] and does all this fancy stuff. She can do a perfect cat eye . She’s a little artist.”

The proud grandma let Blue give her a makeover when she was 9 years old and posted her work on Instagram . "My talented granddaughter Blue made up my face today. She is only 9 years old can you imagine her at 15 doing my makeup? She Beat My Face ❤️Gonna save me a lot of money on make up artist fees 😂❤️, ” she captioned the post.

She performed alongside her mom on tour

In May 2023, Beyoncé embarked on the Renaissance World Tour , her first solo tour in nearly seven years. During her concert in Paris, Beyoncé brought out a special guest for her performances of “My Power” and “My Parade” — Blue.

The 11-year-old hit the stage during the dance breakdowns, showing off her choreography skills alongside Queen Bey’s backup dancers.

“Give it up for Blue,” Beyoncé told the crowd, who broke into applause for her daughter after the performance.

The proud mom continued singing her praises afterward, posting a series of images and videos of Blue performing. “My beautiful first born 🙏🏾 I’m so proud and thankful to be your mama. You bring us so much joy, my sweet angel,” she captioned the Instagram post .

A week later, Blue took the stage again during her mom’s stop in London, where she danced to Beyoncé’s “My Power” and again during a rendition of Kendrick Lamar ’s “Alright.”

In July 2023, Blue's grandmother Tina raved about her grandaughter's dance skills.

"She's having the time of her life, and I couldn't be more proud of her because she really worked hard," Knowles-Lawson told PEOPLE. "She is 11 years old, and she had one week to prepare, and she's just getting better and better. So, I'm the proud grandma , always."

She attended the London premiere of her mom's concert film

In November 2023, Beyoncé and Blue walked the red carpet together at the London premiere of Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé .

Following the event, Blue's grandmother shared a clip of the mother-daughter duo posing for photos. "This has me in tears right now," Knowles-Lawson captioned the post on Instagram.

She collaborates with her famous parents

It appears as though Blue Ivy has a future in show business. From a young age, she has collaborated with her parents on numerous projects, including starring in ads for her mom’s IVY PARK x adidas clothing collection, appearing in multiple music videos like Beyoncé’s “Spirit” and “Formation" (the latter when she was just 4 years old) and even spitting a few freestyle verses in bonus tracks on JAY-Z’s album 4:44 .

Despite such talent, JAY-Z revealed that he doesn’t want to push any of his children into the business.

"Feeling loved is the most important thing a child needs, you know?" he said during a 2021 interview with The Sunday Times . "Not, 'Here's this business that I'm going to hand over to you, that I'm creating for you.' What if my child doesn't want to be in music or sports?"

JAY-Z continued: "I have no idea, right? But as long as your child feels supported, and feels loved, I think anything is possible."

In February 2024, Blue joined her dad onstage at the 66th annual Grammy Awards , where he was honored with the  Dr. Dre  Global Impact Award. During his acceptance speech, JAY-Z praised his daughter's talent, comparing the award to a "sippy cup."

"I used to say it was a sippy cup for Blue, but Blue's grown up now she doesn't take sippy cups. And she has her own Grammys ," he said.

She knows the power of a good photo opp

During a father-daughter date at the 2023 Super Bowl, the preteen posed on the sidelines ahead of the game.

In the now-viral moment, JAY-Z was seen crouching down on the sidelines, taking different angles of his daughter striking a pose wearing Roc Nation attire, which provided entertainment for the halftime show.

This wasn’t the first time he showed off his photography skills. He similarly snapped a photo of his daughter and a friend jumping in the end zone at the 2022 Super Bowl.
