He added: "I mean, we grew up going to big shows in Manchester in fields [...] Our teens were Oasis Heaton Park, Stone Roses Heaton Park, Courteeners Heaton Park. We actually opened up for that gig, so we've kinda been around them gigs and even going back to my [parents], My Mum was at Maine Road, my mum and dad were at Spike Island.

"These big shows in the North of England in a field, it's kind of ingrained into the DNA, so it's nice to have one of those I suppose, so we can't wait for it."

"We're going in," added drummer Joe Donovan. "It's going to be our best set ever."

Tom added: "It's going to be fantastic. Gary [the Gorilla] might even be there!"

Blossoms - Gary

Asked what inspired them to name a song and album after a giant Gorilla statue, which was stolen in Scotland last year, their frontman revealed he was actually listening to the news story on Radio X when he was inspired to write about it.

"I heard it on the radio whilst I was driving home. Just passed my driving test last year," the frontman revealed. When asked what he was listening to, he added: "Radio X, of course."

He went on: "It pricked my ears so to speak, so then I went home and Googled it and started reading about it and I said, 'I've got to try and turn this into a tune."

Watch the Tom and Ewan Ogden-directed video for Gary below:

Gary is set for release on 20th September and is available to pre-order here.

Taylor Swift's Eras tour setlist 2024 for London Wembley – every song to expect

big music tours uk 2024

Tonight is Taylor Swift's final night at London Wembley this August and we are beyond excited.

Back in May at one of Tay Tay's Paris dates Swifties noticed that the musician had cut several songs from her earlier Eras Tour roster to make way for fan favourites from her latest album The Tortured Poets Department . This saw songs such as The Archer and Long Live being replaced by newer bangers like The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived and But Daddy, I Love Him . The Folklore and Evermore sections of the setlist were also combined along the way given the two are sister albums.

Swift began her sixth and most expansive tour back in March 2023. The global Eras tour is set to cover an impressive 151 total dates, with Taylor having already ticked off 52 US shows last year!

And now, after what feels like an eternity of waiting, Taylor has been blessing the rest of the world with a little slice of Swiftie heaven.

Taylor Swift's opening act have revealed their European setlist.

Blossoms  started teasing new music in June, when they encouraged fans to call a mysterious hotline . The Stockport outfit advertised the number with a video featuring a tow truck driving down a road with a giant gorilla statue on its back end, along with the number.

Writing on Instagram following the announcement of the album, they said: “The heart of this record is us 5 recording live in a room together for the first time in years. We wanted to capture that energy of what it’s like when 5 friends decide to start a band and make music together.”

We found the best ticket prices for the killers las vegas residency.

Brandon Flowers dances mid-concert.

On June 7, 2004, The Killers released their debut album “Hot Fuss.”

As you may recall, the record was a critical and commercial smash; it reached No. 7 on the Billboard charts, was nominated for five Grammy Awards and spawned the singles “Mr. Brightside,” “Somebody Told Me” and “Smile Like You Mean It” among others.

Now, 20 years later, the new wave, post-punk rockers are cashing in on nostalgia and playing the classic record in its entirety at their hometown Las Vegas’ glitzy Caesar’s Palace to celebrate its 20th anniversary at their ’20 Years of Hot Fuss’ residency.

“The show was really special,” author Clayton Porter said. “Watching the band play the 5 songs off Hot Fuss that made them famous and then the remainder of the album’s lesser known songs meant if you were in the audience you were there for the Killers, not just ‘Mr. Brightside.’”

And, if you’re hoping to hear non-“Hot Fuss” hits, you’re in luck.

According to Set List FM , Brandon Flowers and co. closed their first set of shows out with classic tracks like “When You Were Young,” “Human” and “The Man” as well as their recently-released single “Bright Lights.”

If this sounds like the show for you, The Killers have seven more Las Vegas gigs — which include nods to the city’s storied past like neon flamingos, showgirls, vintage footage of Circus Circus and the Riviera, the Las Vegas Review Journal reported — lined up before returning to the road.

At the time of publication, tickets for one of their Sin City concerts starts at $174 before fees on Vivid Seats.

For those in New York, it will be a bit cheaper to see the band live; when the band comes to Forest Hills Stadium on Sept. 14-15, tickets are going for as low as $63 before fees .

Need a bit more information before scooping up your last-minute seats?

We’ve got everything you need to know and more about seeing The Killers live in 2024 below.

All prices listed above are subject to fluctuation.

The Killers tour schedule 2024

Whether you’re hoping to see The Killers in Las Vegas or on the road, here’s how much it will cost to see the band live these next few months.

(Note: The New York Post confirmed all above prices at the publication time. All prices are in US dollars, subject to fluctuation and, if it isn’t noted, will include additional fees at checkout .)

Vivid Seats is a verified secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They offer a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and your tickets will be delivered prior to the event.

Oceans Calling Festival 2024

As summer turns to fall, The Killers will lend their talents to Ocean City, MD’s annual Oceans Calling Festival .

And, based on our findings, this year’s lineup is stacked.

Headliners joining The Killers include Blink-182 , Dave Matthews Band , 311 , The Offspring , Counting Crows and more.

Click here to grab single and multi-day passes for the musical extravaganza.

The Killers legendary debut sounds just as vital now as it did when it first hit shelves.

Featuring a scandalous subplot — dubbed “KILLERS MURDER TRILOGY,” both “Midnight Show” and “Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine” allegedly tell the story of a jealous lover who may have killed the fictional Jenny — the album made quite a cultural footprint.

“Hot Fuss” came in 33rd on Rolling Stone’s list of “The 100 Greatest Debut Albums of All Time.”

Outside of the concept album’s four major radio-friendly singles, the 12-track record also houses the underrated, jazzy “Believe Me Natalie” and the glitzy, anxiety-inducing “Midnight Show.”

Really, there isn’t a flop in the bunch. “Hot Fuss” is filled to the gills with hot cuts.

As a refresher, here’s the track list:

01.) “Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine”

02.) “Mr. Brightside”

03.) “Smile Like You Mean It”

04.) “Somebody Told Me”

05.) “All These Things That I’ve Done”

06.) “Andy, You’re A Star”

07.) “On Top”

08.) “Change Your Mind”

09.) “Believe Me Natalie”

10.) “Midnight Show”

11.) “Everything Will be Alright”

12.) “Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll”

You can listen to “Hot Fuss”  here .

Outside of the album, the band has been playing these tracks at the Vegas gigs:

“The Man”

“Human”

“This Is Your Life”

“Caution”

“Runaways”

“Read My Mind”

“Bright Lights”

“When You Were Young”

Maggie Rogers

I'm so glad I got to see her in a small venue; what a magical and powerful experience. This girl radiates happiness and joy and on top of all of that, she sounds great live! There was confetti, a disco ball, Neil Young, and lots of dancing. I don't think it would have had the same effect in a large or open space, definitely jump on any chance you have to see her before she really blows up! So much love!

The most incredible, angelic, beautiful person to ever grace this earth. I've never been more stunned by a performance. SZA met and exceeded all of my expectations, I cannot put into words how amazing she is live. It's an experience you don't want to miss if you get the chance to see her. She was so happy and humble and was continuiously appoligizing for being sick and I honestly couldn't tell, that's how great she is. Also the experience brought me life not only because I got to see her preform but because everyone was singing every single word to every song with her. Truly incredible when you are surrounded in a room full of people singing your favorite songs at the top of their lungs. Needless to say I want a live version of ctrl after all of this so I can reminisce.

What can I say? This woman is simply a force of nature. Her sheer energy just washes over the crowd. So much positivity, and talent! That voice, the moves, the smile. Do yourself a favor and go see her show!

Amazing. Breathtaking. One of the best performers I have and will ever see. Her voice was powerful and her performance flawless, as usual. Would always recommend to anyone. I hope to see her again someday again because this was the second time and it felt just like the first one!

Courtney Barnett

A mind-blowing live personality, a revelation! A huge spontaneous crush! Power, cheekiness, everything that can reinstate one in the love for women and music. A never again to be missed!

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

I saw these guys at the Subterranean in Chicago-- what an insane show. They electrified the crowd with non stop moshing, shoving, and stage diving, it was absolute madness. By the end of the gig I was utterly soaked with other peoples beer (theres always someone with a sloshing cup in a pit; why? just drink it!) and dripping with sweat. this show was epic, if you ever have the opportunity to see these guys you have to seize it-- they put on one hell of a show.

Music artists

For new users looking to follow their favorite bands and performers, our Artists pages are often the best place to start.

Whether you're on our site, or using our free app for iPhone and Android, the Songkick artists search engine is the fastest and simplest way to keep track of who's doing what right now. Be the first to learn which acts are touring, when they might be playing a venue near you, and how to get tickets for any future shows you like the sound of.

Looking to discover someone new? Hey, you’re our kind of music fan. That's why we've also included upcoming Live Stream Concerts alongside our artist searches, meaning you can easily schedule a more casual drop-in from the comfort of your couch.

Since launching our first app back in 2007, you guys - the fans, the concert-goers, the musical explorers - have been at the very heart of everything we do here. Our dream and our drive was always to bring Songkick members closer than ever before to the sounds they love, and the people who create them. Simply put, we pride ourselves on being your direct link to the greatest music artists on the planet.

Who are they, exactly? Well, according to our members, that changes almost by the hour...so let's talk about how Songkick keeps you in the loop.

Best live artists

A quick glance at our Most Popular Artists chart might tell you a few key things about the sorts of music fans we vibe with. For starters, it shows just how varied our members' tastes are. Pop, rock, dance, hip-hop, indie/alt and R&B all feature heavily, alongside a whole bunch of underground genres and rising scenes.

No two of you are quite the same - and frankly, we love to see it! Any time you check in, our 'most popular artists worldwide' and 'trending artists this week' leaderboards always read like a line-up for the greatest, most diverse live festival on Earth.

Among the top searches and best-selling music artists on our global roster, you might find anyone from Rhianna, Coldplay, Eminem and Ed Sheeran, through to Drake, U2, Kanye West,

Maroon 5, Beyoncé, The Midnight, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Taylor Swift, Calvin Harris, Imagine Dragons, Justin Bieber - and that's barely looking outside the top 20.

After all, if the weekly race for a spot on our most popular charts tells us anything, it's that the whole concept of 'best live bands' is a tricky one to pin down. Everybody's looking for a completely different type of experience, every night of the year.

That's another thing we love about our users: you're incredible at keeping us on our toes. In return, we’ve made it our mission to help keep you on yours.

Find and follow your favorite artists on Songkick

When people talk about the 'best live bands in the world', a few big names will reliably come up time and time again. Just as crucially, there'll always be a good handful of newcomers, hot tips and total curveballs in there too.

For us and our members alike, that's a huge part of what keeps the live concert scene so fresh and exciting. There's nothing quite like the thrill of discovering a new favorite artist you'd previously never even heard of - and when that discovery involves a performer blowing you away with an incredible live show or streamed concert, the feeling is enhanced tenfold.

Songkick started out with the goal of helping you capture that moment as often as possible. Now, more than a decade into this, it's 100% what we're still about today.

New members visiting our site or downloading the app can use our powerful search tools to stay ahead of the game. Darley Park Concert will top off a fabulous weekend of music

Published: 21 August 2024

Darley Park Concert

The Darley Park Concert is the final night of the Darley Park Weekender

A splendid night of classical music will mark the culmination of this year’s Darley Park Weekender.

The Darley Park Concert is the third and final act of Derby’s extravaganza of entertainment.

Set in the beautiful surroundings of Darley Park, this year’s Weekender starts on Friday 30 August with 80s Mix Tape , featuring Jason Donovan, Chesney Hawkes and a DJ set from Scott Mills. On Saturday 31, it’s Ultimate 90s with Honeyz, Blue and the Chris Moyles 90s Hangover. To round off the weekend on Sunday 1 September, families can enjoy Music from the Movies with orchestra Sinfonia Viva.

As the Orchestra of the East Midlands, Sinfonia Viva has been a well-loved and respected organisation since its formation in 1982.

As well as performing around the country, it is devoted to delivering creative community projects. The orchestra’s appearance at Darley Park is supported by Rolls-Royce.

The Darley Park Concert, which has been taking place for three decades, is staged by Derby LIVE, Derby City Council’s arts and events arm, with support from Bloc Digital, Circulayo, Fortitude MSP, HUUB, Sami Tipi, Tomato Energy, University of Derby and Ward Recycling. Andy Twigge and Jack Tymon from our media partner Radio Derby’s Breakfast Show will be hosting.

Timothy Redmond will be back as this year’s conductor, joined by soloist Nicky Spence. Timothy is a regular guest conductor with the London Symphony and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras, co-founder of the international conducting masterclasses And Other Duties and is conductor and co-creator of the Royal Albert Hall’s My Great Orchestral Adventure concert series.

Opera singer Nicky is an artist and broadcaster aiming to bring more people to classical music than ever before. Upcoming appearances include the Peter Grimes Programme at the Welsh National Opera and a return to Glyndebourne Festival and Royal Opera House to sing Boris Katya Kabanova and Laca Jenůfa respectively.

The audience will be treated to a thrilling setlist including music from movies including ET, Superman, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Sound of Music and Breakfast at Tiffany’s, to name but a few, along with a host of other well-loved pieces.

The event will close with the traditional fireworks finale rendition of Land of Hope and Glory, which has proved to be a highlight for audiences over the years.

Councillor Nadine Peatfield, Leader of Derby City Council, said:

The Darley Park Concert is always a highlight of the summer and a fantastic opportunity to enjoy music from our renowned orchestra for a brilliant ticket price. It’s the perfect evening to enjoy with family and friends, rounding off what promises to be a fantastic weekend from start to finish. Don’t forget your picnic.

This year’s concert, which starts at 6pm, will be opened by Derby-born DJ Sapphire, who has been DJing for 15 years. Her show on YouTube went viral in March 2023 and she’s now the world’s number one DJ specialising in Smooth Jazz.

DJ Sapphire will be followed by the Derby West Indian Community Association Steel Pans, a community-based group set up to bring steel band music to the city of Derby and further afield. They are led by Lionel McCalman, former leader of Nostalgia Steelband and renowned as a ‘godfather’ of steel band music in the UK.

Also performing will be the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB) Staff Wellbeing Choir, who will join Sing Viva on stage after Act One. The UHDB Staff Wellbeing Choir was founded by Air Arts, as a way to support wellbeing for the Staff of University Hospitals of Derby and Burton during the Covid Pandemic. Led by Felicity Biacsi, they sing an eclectic mix of songs and their main aim is to have a great time whilst singing great music.

Sing Viva is Sinfonia Viva’s community choir dedicated to those in caregiving or support roles. Sing Viva’s members pride themselves on singing an exciting and diverse range of choral favourites.
